We had a very nice and comfortable overnight stay This place fit the bill as we were attending a concert at Amalie and didn’t want to drive back home – the price was affordable and nicely located There were quite a few people staying here as well, so you can hear people passing by the room, but nothing major for being as full as it was

Breakfast was okay, wish the pancake maker worked, but the attendant kept on top of stuff making sure to refill when necessary We would stay here again 🙂

Very nice and comfortable The price is great for the location The owners are amazing and you can tell they truly care about people and their business

Free breakfast is nice touch The hotel itself is an older building, however the outside is fresh paint and clean landscaping, and the inside of the rooms and other common areas is completely renovated They made me feel like I was their own family Thank you to you all at Hotel South Tampa and suites🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰I will recommend you to everyone!

Hotel (from the outside feels more like a motel) was very clean and nice Much bigger than anticipated Bed was very comfortable and shower had good pressure

The rooms are stylized like in a motel with no lobby and located in the middle of downtown south Tampa so I was a bit startled to realize this There is no gate at the entrance so anyone can wonder around the hotel and linger outside the rooms Reception was very comforting informing they have watches all throughout the night Did enjoy my stay!

Perfect location with a short walk to all of the restaurants and bars Hotel staff is wonderful especially the manager Jorge He took such good care of us and always goes above and beyond

Perfect stay!! It was pristine clean

such friendly staff and great location!!! Beautiful new pool & lounge furniture, a nice bar in the lobby and although we didn’t have breakfast here it looked very good if you should decide to enjoy breakfast here Nice ice cold lemon water awaits you coming and going The pool is nice and there’s also a hot tub You’ll be directly across from the park and hear the crow of the famous Ybor brood 🐓 The trolley and Ybor eateries and stores are within a few blocks We walked everywhere Our room was great a microwave and small fridge and overlooked the pool We’ll definitely stay here again We live in St Petersburg, (not a very long drive); staying here made for a perfect evening get away! Thank you!

Incredibly rude receptionThere is no one at the reception, a young woman is typing around on her computer without motivation and is ignoring us After a few minutes the phone rings, she picks it up and brushes off a guest in a very unfriendly manner

After the phone call, she turns back to the computer and continues to ignore us I speak to her that we only want our reserved room She then becomes incredibly angry and insults us by saying what do you even want? You’re not even a gold member?! I then ask her whether this status is necessary in order to check in at this hotel – to which she replies, at least she would check us in and would now prefer not to do that anymore We should look for another hotel We could only reach a manager by phone Who then at least suggested to the lady to check us in I have never been treated so rudely in a hotel The rooms are clean but showing their age The air conditioning is noisy and cannot be regulatedNever again! The young lady at the front desk should look for a job where she enjoys it – that would be very helpful

My wife had a procedure in Tampa so we had to stay 3 days The experience was obviously stressful and a bit scary Every single person we encountered at this Embassy made this experience better

The front desk women were beyond helpful and nice The cleaning crew went out of their way to ensure our room was clean and safe before and after the surgery The cook was awesome and the lady in that area offered to fix my wife something special 5 stars and above to this team! Thank you for making a stressful experience better

LaShonda Renea Maxfield

Attended an awards event there Both conference rooms were well decorated and I loved that one had a sitting area Inside there is a really nice restaurant and seating that makes you feel as though you are sitting in a park outside

Catering staff was very friendly and accommodating (there was no vegan food but they made me a plate full of Romain lettuce) Guests raved about the food

I would not recommend this hotel The front desk staff is not friendly or hospitable, the hotel elevator was out of service & the one available for service needed serious improvementsRoom service staff was friendly & nice, the beds & pillows are comfortable and nice quality, and the hotel lounge area is nice

Overall it’s the poor customer service that I can’t deal with & broke/ elevator issues

Cassey Johnson

Where do I start???? First, the staff is very accommodating and polite Everyone staff member I walked by said hello Which never happens much these days

The room was very clean I had a cleaning business, so I have an eye for what others don’t see and there was not one issue with my room And believe me, I check I was at the business center and overheard a customer being upset with the staff and she was so very professional I wanted to tell the guy to back off but I didn’t She handled herself and helped the customer resolve the issue It was a amazing Everyone was happy I understand that people have the “DIMOND STATUS” with this hotel chain, but the world has changed Due to COVID, everyone needs to be understanding that businesses hands are tide right now and we all, as a whole, as consumers, as people need to remember we are all in the same battle We all really need to work together harder than ever before to help businesses, whether small or large, get back on their feet, running smoothly I wish people could just be nicer Anyways, this place is amazing I loved it It was hands down the cleanest hotel I have stayed at with Marriott Definitely will be back

cleveland freeman

Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had Stayed for a week and price changed every day Over charge my credit card upon check out

Front desk staff was rude and non caring Differently will be disputing all charges Do not recommend staying HERE!!!!!! P S Refrigerator was broken and toilet stop up at 10pm and had to wait until 10am to HAVE IT unstopped Worst experience EVER

We were in room #111 facing east Our room wasn’t fancy but was stylishly decorated and we enjoyed our stay We had water on both sides of the hotel so plenty of scenery was available

We met friends in St Pete/Clearwater a couple of times (45 minute drive) The Sunset Grill and Beach bar provided good food and drinks and is a 3 minute walk Bahia beach (3 minute walk) is small but it worked for our needs Other than that, there is not much in the area

Tammy Lewis

I will never visit this place again The host and property manager (QWEN) was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful We had to contact them numerous times before receiving a short response

We asked to change our reservation due to a tragic event and she refused to even speak with us Booking contacted them and advised us of how distasteful their management was to them as well Sadly, they have ruined a trip for our children with their lack of manners and business skills I recommend they find someone else to manage their units before they find themselves in a lawsuit

w stewart

I highly don’t recommend this place for having a stress free vacation this place is a joke

trash and cigarette butts everywhere, the pool was nasty the hot tub was nasty and so was the beach the check in process is flavegasting I got the feeling as though I was being scammed seriously a lack of communication Qwen the host seems to be money hungry in trying to charge for every little detail do yourself a favor and pass this one by it’s a doozey for sure

Super clean! Rooms are the Embassy Suites “standard,” which means Excellent! Large suites, well designed with a mini-kitchen (fridge, microwave, coffee/tea maker, & sink) Impressive shower with the world’s perfect hot/cold water selector! Quiet, large sleeping area with efficient blackout curtains Nice amenities include iron/ironing board and a safe

Supreme breakfast and at the end of the day they have a wonderful Happy Hour for guests that includes free beer and wine (spirits are available as well) Five stars 🤩

Karina Colmenares

What an excellent stay! The room was great and the customer service was awesome The most memorable part was Jacob from the downstairs restaurant Taste He is one of the best bartender’s I’ve ever met in my life

You can tell he is passionate on what he does and he made my birthday weekend awesome!! Not only that, but that restaurant has the best food ever I went out to eat a few times in Tampa, but my family and I still found our way back to that restaurant because it was definitely 5 star material I will be coming back soon!!

Jerri Allaster

Incredibly expensive for the value I encourage you to book on line and DO NOT wait until the last minute, especially to book on a weekend Do not book at the desk as you will not receive the available online discounts

Although it is a suite, not worth $400+ a night The rooms need some work to get up to date You are provided 2 real glasses, 1 in our room was a quarter full of water and were apparently hand washed or just rinsed instead of cleaned in the dishwasher, unacceptable The room could use a deep cleaning The pool chairs are dated and the tables need to be cleaned periodically The upside, a free happy hour with limited selection from 5pm – 6:30 and breakfast daily, that offers a decent selection You have been warned ⚠️

I don’t normally leave reviews on hotels, but this hotel really went above my expectations They have all Dove products in their bathroom Full size Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower

Their blackout curtains actually work (pet peeve when hotels have them too short) Tons of outlets for both people in bedPlus the hotel appears to be completely brand new so everything is nice! Great front desk serviceBreakfast included, tooWill be staying again 👍

david smith

Had a 2 night stay and was very impressed with the great standard of cleanliness The young man at reception was very helpful full of local knowledge and arranged a courtesy bus to Ybor Breakfast was great and on day 2 even had Gluten Free Bagels which was a bonus

Florence the lady who sorted out breakfast and was always on the go cleaning could have done no more to help It’s people like her who go about sorting things behind the scenes are often forgotten So thanks Florence from David Wendy and Barbara

Great location where you can actually walk to things like the Children’s museum Checking in was smooth, Valerie was very knowledgeable in giving me local recommendations and even made my 2 children smile It’s nice to come somewhere new and be nicely welcomed

The pool was great, and surprisingly we had it all to ourselves Wish the exercise room was bigger, but gets the job done while traveling Would recommend for people wanting to stay in the downtown area

Rose Hudson

LaQuesha at the front desk was super helpful Gave us the best advice Checking in was just phenomenal because of her amazing spirit

That girl deserves a raise for real! This experience turned very awful when the fire alarm went off at 4:11 am, at first I was super understanding and very concerned as fire trucks and police start showing up We were one of the first people downstairs and there were no staff around or present There was no direction, no one executing any safety precautions Then at 9 am the following morning the fire alarm went off again for 15 seconds again before turning off again, and again at 10 am for 5 seconds No one was taking it seriously When we asked a staff member as we are walking down the stairs what we should do, they had no direction and basically told us to go back to our rooms What if a real fire had gone on, people would have not taken it seriously due to the previous electrical system errors, that is easily a fire hazard and huge code violation on the fire alarm system, never again We come to find out this was reported happening two days prior due to electrical system errors This place needs to be shut down and electrical issues needs to be addressed, it is a huge risk and not worth the time or money to stay here

Rolando Drausal

I felt welcomed as soon as I arrived Javier greeted us cheerfully and had a great sense of humor Upon check in Jessica found us a very nice room overlooking the River ( mom’s bday)

Room was well suited, clean and with all the necessary amenities All other staff members I met were helpful Good location, 1 block away from river walk, a little over 1/2 mile from Convention Center Very competitive price compared to well known chains

I really enjoy my stay To start, front desk were absolutely delightful and helpful Room was clean, bed and pillows were comfy, breakfast was delicious and weirdly; I didn’t hear anything from room next door when you usually do in hotel rooms

Location is great, you can go walking distance to a few places and the trolley station is also close Definitely will stay here again

Nisha B

The Only Hotel I will stay while in Tampa!! Parking was ample and easy Front desk service was top notch 👍 Elevators secure by key card, we got the king room which was big and clean and we were able to choose which floor we wanted to be on, the bathroom with the glass shower was really nice However the location was the 🍒 on top walk right outside your hotel and your on the main street of Ybor City 🌆 all the bars, nightclubs, food

etc just everything steps away and when your back in your room, you don’t hear anything!!! Oh and I got guest of the day, so nice!! 🙂

Xander Cheney

Out of the three Hamptons I have stayed at in the last month, this king suite is the smallest Especially the bathroom!! Barely even enough room to turn around Just don’t stretch

Found a few hairs in the bed and the bathroom needs a better cleaning The ice machine also must be dirty because there is particles in the ice Parking fee isn’t shown until you’re almost finished booking your room and by that time you don’t want to leave and go somewhere elseGreat location though!! Just maybe consider a good update to the smaller overlooked things

I stayed here for a few nights for work and from start to end was a pleasant experience for me The check in process was pretty quick, the front desk person was friendly and helpful and was knowledgeable about the area they worked in, which is sometimes rare The hotel feels brand new, it’s clean and bright with my room being ideal, clean, comfortable and quiet

Breakfast was as expected I was very impressed with the quality of this hotel, with the price being at a very good value and not all the hustle and bustle of downtown Tampa Look forward to my next stay in a few weeks

Christine Martin

We recently stayed at this property for eight nights with our family of five and a dog Overall, we had a really positive experience! The staff were very pleasant and helpful The hotel itself was clean and well appointed

The room size was large and comfortable for a our family during our stay We also found the hotel very quiet even with lots of guests and dogs staying there The breakfast every morning was also really niceThe only thing I’d say could use a bit of improvement were some of the amenities Because of Covid, the room cleaning doesn’t happen daily We had scheduled it for midway through and they didn’t come, so we had to ask them again and they came the next day We did run out of toilet paper and needed new towels more frequently, but when we asked, they were happy to oblige The cookware in the room was very limited and were missing things like there were only 3 forks and 2 knives The bedding was also less than desirable It seemed like they were using a bedskirt as the main blanket which was odd We had to ask for more bedding for the pull out couch The final thing was that during our stay, one of the two dryers were broken – leaving only one dryer for the whole hotel to use There didn’t seem to be any attempts to get a technician to fix it so there was often time long waits to dry our clothingBut other than those amenities we really did enjoy our time and would absolutely stay there again

Jennifer Patterson

Nice place to stay, comfy beds & pillows, nice location, friendly staff, free breakfast & parking, Major Problem

the carpet was FILTHY & there were several pieces of old food on the floor!! I know this is a budget hotel but went to the manager & told them this is NOT up to Hilton standards! I’ve NEVER seen carpet that dirty in even a cheap hotel! The manager was very apologetic & moved me to another room immediately If there is a Hilton wherever I am travelling to, I usually stay there because anything less than pristine clean is really not for me Hilton has always met & usually exceeds my expectations, but I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the floors in this one

Warning *** I’m having a “Karen” moment! LolSummary- I like this hotel, a lot in fact The service is great, it’s very clean, quite comfortable but, it’s the little things that get meA little back story, my husband and I come to Tampa once a month

We live in Miami and my husband works remotely from home The company he works for, is based here in Tampa and he comes up for his monthly engineering meetings So, we’re here…a lot! LolLike I stated before, I like this hotel The beds are some of the best! The service is really impeccable The grounds are kept nice, they have a gym and an indoor heated pool, so even if it’s a wee bit cold out you can still have some good ole Florida fun! What I don’t like, and it really chaps my hide, 🤣 is the fact that you have to OVER pay for every little tiny thing here For instance, there’s no breakfast Like not even a muffin! There is really bad coffee in the room where they give you 2 sugars and 1 little powdered creamer Some of these little packages have napkins and stir sticks, some don’t Oh, and did I mention it’s really bad…like bad badAnd I know, a lot of people are going to nitpick at the fact that I’m rating them 3 stars because of coffee and breakfast, (I told you I was having a Karen moment) but the fact remains that when I spend $412 for 2 nights at a hotel, with minimal services (because they’ve laid off the majority of their employees so they don’t have to give daily housekeeping room checks, so they can pocket more profit and blame it on the pandemic! Oh yeah, I said it, go watch Adam ruins everything about Covid and Hotels!) I do expect a muffin or at least a dang cup of coffee to be freeThe odd part is, we’ve stayed at this hotel enough that when my husband and I went to Tulsa, OK for our kiddos wedding, I made sure to look for a Marriott Courtyard for us to stay in We encountered the same service, comfort and amenities but, they served a rather large and nice breakfast with coffees, juices, milks etcBut after this, after being charged $203 for a small cup of coffee, I think my husband and will be staying at the Hyatt up the road We were staying there for a while when we were making these trips and I decided, “why not shake it up and stay at the Marriott…”I think we’ll be going back Not for nothing but, they have an enormous breakfast and coffee bar! 😉

Tamira Sallee

Check in was horrible staff was rude Room was dirty dust every where and black mold on the pictrue in the bathroom A room that sleeps 4 but they did not provide any pillows for the pull out sofa and front desk said they were out

Only one working elevator that’s really did not work it would randomly pick floors to stop on and doors would not open all the way Very much not worth $175 a night

Awesome experience Everything went perfect, the pool is a great concept of being indoor/outdoor, and the staff was SUPER friendly which always makes you feel a little more at home I also felt safe, given I was traveling alone and coming back at late hours (3-4am)

I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m in the areaI also appreciated they weren’t pushy about the 11am checkout time That’s annoying to me when the hotel staff is rushing you when you’re already in a hurry

i was a little nervous about staying here after reading some of the reviews, but i didn’t really have a choice because we were there for a class being held in the halls let me just say, i was not disappointed the rooms were a great size, they granted late check out, breakfast was 8/10, pool was a good size

sadly our air conditioning wasn’t great and they didn’t have anyone who could fix it properly & the hot tub was no warmer than a hot bath so that’s why they got a 4 star instead of 5 overall a great stay for the price and very reasonable location

I initially was not going to stay at the Hilton after reading some of the reviews and booked a room elsewhere with a friend The visit with my friend fell through so I decided to rebook at the Hilton I’m glad I did! Making the reservation was simple and all of my concerns and requests were met (a room far from the elevator, quiet location and handicap accessible parking)

The room was beautiful and clean Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable The air conditioning was nice and cold Staff were very helpful and pleasant!

When checking in, we were greeted with bottles of water The front desk staff was very friendly and worked quickly to give us our keys The rooms was unspectacular (blah decor) but clean, comfortable, and quiet

There was a microwave and a refrigerator (and the refrigerator was actually cold, which was nice) The only thing that kind of bugged me was the bars of facial and bath soap provided in the room It is some type of environmentally friendly soap, which is great, but it generated very little suds What few suds I got, I really worked for! The complimentary breakfast was really tasty with a very nice selection They had made to order omelettes, yogurt, baked items, cereal, bagels, fruit, etc They also had breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon strips, sausage patties and pancakes I like this hotel and recommend it

Excellent experience Stayed here for a convention in January Room was super clean and everything was functioning

Amenities for my room were nice (the mini fridge was a lifesaver), although I wish they included a microwave Housekeeping did an amazing job on all three times Every member of the staff I interacted with was helpful and friendly Location is in close proximity to restaurants and more I had a great stay and I recommend this hotel to others who stop by

First off staff is very accommodating and just plain nice From check in to the pool or bar area we encountered only excellent service Facility from the beautiful foyer area to the pool, outside bar or the restaurants are all top notch

Workout room is stocked like a professional gym Room was new, clean and comfortable Just a win-win stayMy only gripe would be at the bar seating area out back by the water there are no large ceiling fans or to that no fans at all It got a bit hot out there at times Id suggest nice fans to make more use of that beautiful patio area

I stayed here for a conference and was very pleased with how clean and comfortable my room was I was even upgraded to a balcony room for no extra charge The staff were very helpful when I reached out about the shower not draining properly

They planned on coming that night but I just asked them to stop by in the morning when I was out, and when I returned to my room later they left a note saying everything was fixed I would definitely stay here again!

Everyone we spoke with was personable and welcoming They remembered our names and some of our kids! The convenience of being so close to the airport and the shuttle provided for free, allowed us to save money on our rental car The room was clean, and the pool was refreshing

The food was as you would expect for a continental breakfast I will definitely stay here again when we are back in Tampa

I was here from 28 Nov 21 to 27 Feb 22 It was an unacceptable stay I was here on military orders and was booked here

When the new year started, the hotel system overcharged me hundreds of dollars and I had to be credited back It would constantly overcharge me throughout my stay This causes issues when it comes to reimbursement from the military The hotel did not know that my room did not have a phone line and it took them 2 months to tell me The laundry machines constantly malfunctioned or ate my quarters The ice machines were broken for 7+ weeks and the front desk didn’t even know until I told them and every time I asked for an update, they were surprised it was broken They didn’t even know that multiple ice machines were broken The maids accidentally turned my fridge temp dial while cleaning and approx $120 worth of food and drinks spoiled when thawed out or exploded The maids then lost some of my clothes when they cleaned my bed sheets One constant factor in all this was that none of the staff was communicating with each other with anything and only after all this did they say that they held a meeting to communicate more I don’t think it should take all this to do something that you should already be doing I haven’t been compensated/reimbursed for my lost food or clothes Quite frankly, I’m going to recommend to the government travel office to not book anymore travelling service members in this hotel

Two words, Bed Bugs My family and I were already exhausted enough from moving We booked here for a nights stay

The room we were in on the 2nd floor was bed bug infested I only noticed because I went to plug in my charger then noticed something crawling on my pillow Then I jumped off the bed quick and saw multiple bed bugs on my pillow Then as we inspected the bed more we noticed bed bugs crawling on different spots of the bed There had to be at least 20 we spotted I immediately called down to the front desk They apologized and then moved us upstairs to a different room They allowed us to inspect this room before agreeing to sleep in it for the night We inspected every inch of that new room by the beds, floor and headboard The hotel staff were friendly and responsive so that’s why I didn’t give this a 1 star But my goodness bedbugs are a nightmare, and they can travel home with you easily, and cost thousands to get rid of from your home!

The King Size Bedroom, on the first floor, was spacious, beautiful, comfortable at it’s finest, and super clean!!! (Yes, I even checked the air conditioning and everything was dust free) 👌🏼 I looked for every detail and I must said that it was a glad surprise The employees are respectful, patient and bilingual I honestly could not find a bad thing

Even breakfast was yummy 😋 (I am a fan of waffles and hot chocolate, so the fact that I could have them made me the happiest) A heads-up for someone coming here for the first time: The pool outside it’s more like a hot tub It’s good for a few people or kids, since it’s not too deep It’s close to a lot of convince stores and the Air Fore Base

We are having an exceptional stay due to the friendliness of the staff and management along with the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel My room had a television that cut off after 15 minutes and upon notifying the manager, she not only moved us, but upgraded our room This hotel is close to parks and beaches as well as numerous dining and shopping locations

It also helped to have great weather during our stay I would definitely stay again and recommend family and friends to do the same

I have stayed here numerous times This is the only place I’ll stay at when needed or even just wanting to I love the staff

They always do their best for me with everything, rates, extra towel here or there, even to vent when your life is falling apart around you, nearly literally Unfortunately it was just for one night to do a couple things I needed to get done, one specifically was very difficult and if I didn’t have them to go to for that one night, I probably would have stalled doing it, but the comfort, quiet, and well just being there, I managed to get it done Thank you for being there for me, I really appreciate it The young girl who I’m kicking myself about not being able to remember her name, she is young with long straight hair, she is so kind, sweet, and helpful to everyone, and it’s hard to find people who seem to really love their job and has so much cheer, spirit, and in my case, empathy as well A special thank you goes out to her I’m so sorry, I’m awful about remembering anything these daysSincerely, Tabatha
