I love this unique and charming hotel! I loved learning and reading about the history of this property The communal space and lounge area was unique and comforting – gorgeous fireplace! The hotel smelled nice and the rooms were big There was parking out back that was easily accessible and I even used the business center to work from

Location was in the heart of downtown and had great coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance This hotel had everything Most importantly, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and even gave my service animal a doggy bag upon check in!

Michelle Crisman

The Montvale Hotel is in an excellent location We parked and walked to every attraction — waterfalls, shopping, great restaurants, Fox Theater, Davenport, etc — that we cared to see

The room was spacious, minimalist and clean The beds were very comfortable I loved that the rooms were all placed around a beautiful lounge with a fireplace; it felt as though I were leaving my master suite to sit and enjoy my living room (though MUCH grander than my actual living room, of course) Check in and check out could be done by phone and we loved that convenience Enjoy your stay at The Montvale Hotel!

Neal O’Neal

This hotel is really cool! The layout and the finishing touches were fabulous There was seating in the indoor courtyard and gray art The feel was early 19th century

Our bed was pretty soft and that is not My wife and my preferred mattress hardness Restaurants and parking readily available The parking lot was right behind the building or another one on the other side of the block and fenced in We could see the train but not really hear it Great stay except the soft mattress

Jennifer Allen

We were here for the night when we flew on late Grateful we took this (other place on the way back had no shuttle and we could not get a rental car at the hour we came in) It was wonderful! Comfy, clean, friendly staff, and no issues with the shutttle as we arrived before 1 AM and it is on the small airport grounds, basically

We DID NOT hear planes all night long–kids in the AM, yes, but not traffic The other place was horrible, so we will stay here next time coming & going!

Susan Hermosillo

This was the third time staying here It’s a nice hotel with friendly staff and the beds are comfortable I’m giving it four stars because the room we initially were given keys for had white dog hair covering the floor

I mean it was covered! Not sure how housekeeping missed that one, but when I went back to the front desk and explained the situation they quickly gave us another room without issue I realize this can occasionally happen so it’s not a big deal Our new room was clean and comfy I wish there were plugs or charging ports on the bed stands, but we made it work Overall it was another great stay I really appreciate the free airport shuttle They got us there in plenty of time for our early flight

Jeannine Harris

It’s a decent little hotel Breakfast is very basic and there’s a little dining area There is a pool table that wasn’t working during our stay and a couple vending machines

Small heated pool and small gym The only thing I’m going be picky about is the check in time and process It’s a 3pm or after check in They won’t check you in early at all All rooms have to be cleaned first We were an hour early So if you traveling by car be prepared to leave your luggage in your car

Great beds! Great service! Delicious breakfast! My best stay anywhere in the last year! Everything very clean and updated! They take pride in their presentation and delivery of services! Well worth the extra $30 over the quality inn down the road! We rent hotel rooms so we have a place to sleep and most places have lumpy, soft beds that are impossible to sleep on, but not this place!! Nice firm and updated mattresses! I highly recommend!

Austin Pourier

Pretty nice It’s about what you would expect Clean with friendly staff and our room was nice enough

No complaints reallyBreakfast wasn’t bad by any means but nothing to write home about Definitely better than many placesThe hot tub did have crazy amounts of chlorine Straight burned our eyes out just sitting in there for maybe 10 min

Shade 7

Stayed here for nearly a full week The room was clean and pleasant The nights were quiet

The beds were a bit too firm for my tastes, but I think most people would like them, I just prefer a very soft mattressOverall it was a great experience and I’d happily stay here again if I come through Spokane again

Love this hotel!!! Friendly service, beautiful, clean hotel Love the location, just across from the river Plenty of lighting in the rooms, which is usually my complaint in other hotel rooms

Large rooms with plenty of storage for clothing Bathrooms had plenty of counter space with space under the counter as well They offer all the free water you want during your stay I had an issue during my stay and Taylor went above and beyond to rectify the situation Will definitely stay here again!

Elizabeth Boss

The hotel was nice, however, there was a huge party going on in the suite next to me that extended into the hallway I called “At Your Service” twice asking if there was anything they could do to get the party quieted I selected the top floor “Penthouse Suite” (which, I’m guessing there are several floors with all rooms similar) and a room at the far end from the elevator hoping it would be a quiet room

I paid extra for a room I thought would be quiet and was quite disappointed I would not recommend this hotel unless you’re part of the party

Brekyn Worbes

We really enjoyed our experience! The view of downtown was beautiful The hotel bar’s drink are absolutely amazing and the food there is delicious Our room was spacious, clean, modern design

No mini fridge or microwave but still great The showers was super cool and big Staff was friendly and eager to help Vale was well worth the little up charge The location is PERFECT Close to bars, restaurants, and the river Highly recommend!!!

Great location close to downtown, the university and right off the riverfrontThe hotel staff was pleasant and helpfulParking was ok, it’s a large lot and it was full so I had to park a ways away but that can’t be helped

The hotel itself is somewhat dated It probably an older courtyard property Would be nice to see it renovated soonThat being said the room was clean and quietBed was typical Marriott quality and comfortableI would return to this property

Prism B!tch

We arrived for a late check in after playing a show at a local venue Brian was incredibly kind, informative and helpful We were completely exhausted and he made our check in a breeze, and went above and beyond to make sure we could park our van in a secure location for the night

Not to mention that the room is beautiful and comfortable, with a sliding door opening out to the lovely courtyard pool area We would love to stay here again next time we visit Spokane

Emily Meredith

I had SUCH a great experience quarantining here (which is pretty hard to say) The room was so comfortable and the patio was key! The staff was BY FAR the best part of my stay The front desk was very accommodating to my extra needs and made me feel welcome and not like a burden

I was able to get DELICIOUS food delivered to my room from the Bistro downstairs I recommend staying here 100% The people made it a pleasure for me and I’m sure they do for all guests!

Kyndra Hager

Fantastic stay! We spent 4 nights here in a suite with 3 kids It was clean and smelled great The room was the perfect size for us

We had breakfast almost every morning and the woman running it was so sweet and did a great job keeping everything stocked The front desk people were friendly, one night we came in late and he was baking cookies and offered them to the kids So sweet! Would 100% stay again

Zack Stockdale

I’ve stayed a lot of places in Spokane around the convention center This was a solid choice Good price decent room great breakfast! Just make sure you don’t get a room next to the elevator can’t imagine those people got a lot of sleep

And there seem to be a lot of people drag racing on the street outside at all hours But we were sound sleepers Would stay again

Lauren Benda

We really liked this Best Western All of the staff were very friendly and attentive Our room was clean and the breakfast bar was very well stocked

We also loved the location being close to the river and restaurants, etc The co-op market next door was a great bonus for to-go dinners, fresh fruit, drinks, etc We would definitely stay here again!

Barney Norwick

High quality for any price It had all the usual features of a good room such as a great bed, very clean, updated facilities, etc What set it apart was the little touches that came from someone who has done this for years and thinks about the customers needs

Two little things come to mind: enough clothes hooks in the bathroom for all your clothes and an night light!

Don’t Worry

You figure when you call in at the front desk these small hotel/motels the owner would answer never the less a manager and would appreciate the call because it can be a sale But no not the best attitude seemed like it was a hassle to answer the phone and give pricing It’s hospitality if you don’t like it I hate to say it then do something else

Prices are too high for the basics for what they offer

Cindy Nielson

If your wanting a wonderful place to stay this is it ! As my grandson saidWe need to give them a 5 star review ! They say they are pet friendly but they are not I left the room to get water at the gas station next to it and received a call that my dog had barked a little Even though he was not barking when they called, they said we would be kicked out it he did it again

The bathroom was a joke The dispensers for soaps were empty and they had no individual bottles They have THE STUPIDEST glass door as a barrier so you are just standing naked in the wind The walls were incredibly thin so every sound could be heard in the room The beds were hard and the pillows were almost nonexistent to where I had to use 3 just to get comfortable We stayed in 2 other best westerns before this one and had a great experience This hotel is garbage

Caleb Peterson

I checked in to room 233 at 11:15pm when we made it to the room it looked like the bed had been made but that’s it Garbage pieces were present on the floor and there is a half eaten melty Klondike bar in the refrigerator

No phone to call the front desk so I walked back down I asked the gentleman at the front desk to assure me the room had been cleaned He said he could not after checking the log He also said that in order for me to have it clean we would need to stay for 5 days I ignorantly assumed that was a given since 1 We payed for a clean room 2 Covid is still a thing 3 Common sense I thought

John Richards

Clean, nice hotel but my experience with the staff wasn’t as great as I hoped for One of your employees Taylor, I believe is her name, (short women, reddish/brownish hair to her shoulders) was very rude to us I asked her a question, but she was checking her phone, huffed, then looked up at us with an annoyed look

Once I asked the question she answered it with an attitude, went back to her phone watching TikTok’s at a high volume and laughing while we waitedI told her to have a nice day and she just stayed on her phone and ignored us Not very impressed by her attitude, and I truly hope she isn’t always like that with customers and was maybe having an off day

We stayed here just before flying out for vacation and we are really glad we did The service was awesome and the food was great as well Having a place to stay before flying out that will keep your vehicle and take you to the airport then pick you up is like having that really awesome family member helping you out

It made out vacation so much better We also stayed there when we flew back and got the same awesome service

Myesha Kirby

We had a great experience here rooms were nice, bathroom were perfect for what we were looking forward to Cleanliness in the bathroom could have been a bit better but for the most part it was great Casino was pretty heavy on the smoke, maybe could use a little better ventilation system but they do have a non smoking area

All in all we would stay here again

Darlene Seward

I didn’t stay at the hotel I went to their summer theater and saw Brad Paisley perform It was a huge crowd but it was handled very well by the casino and they had lots of staff there to help you find your seats and to direct you in the right direction The security was very good but not invasive of your personal space so that was wonderful

The only issue is their parking and the large distance that you have to walk to get into their event other than that it was a perfect experience

This place we were told has been renovated and it’s nice We honestly thought it was new! We laughed at the fact others stayed right across the street for almost double what this place is charging The room was clean, staff were great, breakfast was good (basic like hotels but lots), easy check in an check out, close to downtown, close to Riverfront park etc

The only down side is the pool The pool itself was refreshing The hot tub was extremely hot that we couldn’t even sit in it But the biggest issue was there is absolutely no veneration for the pool area Just a single window open It was extremely humid inside an the chemical of the pool could be smelled because of the enclosed space Posing a health issue They need to fix that Other then that I would absolutely stay here again!

Manuel Vázquez

Definitely coming back to this hotel next time I visit Spokane!Personnel is extremely friendly and polite, great pool and hot tubThere was one day on which the housekeeping person didn’t come even though we asked for it a couple days in advance, we spoke with the manager and he sincerely apologized and gave us some treats, a deck of cars and some dice We understood it was an honest mistake but he went above and beyond to make it right

Kaden Earle

The staff was nice The style of the room is very pretty however I am not happy with the cleanliness I see a lot of good reviews on here so maybe they are just having a bad day? The shower had finger prints on the glass, the elevator up to the room has boot prints on the door, by the buttons, etc

No trash bags in the cans in our room so sorry if there is wet or anything in the cans Also, front desk will tell you it’s a $2000 incidental it’s actually $4000 not a huge deal but they should tell you the correct info Lady who checked us in and out was very kind, Night Audit was a B**** probably won’t stay here again, maybe give them a second shot, we will see

Rooms were very clean, especially the shower which was super nice too! The bathroom was a tad small but to be expected in a renovated building of this type For the price this was an amazing stay! Normally it’s difficult to sleep well in hotel rooms but we could actually consistently control the temperature from the heating unit and the bed was very comfortable! Good location for downtown Spokane and the hotel bar seemed cool even though we didn’t go in

Johnmarc Candelaria

Hotel Ruby does the job well while being located in such an awesome location at a decent price! If you want or need to be in Downtown Spokane, I don’t see why you shouldn’t consider Hotel Ruby as your place to stay The property looks very chic and the rooms are clean The front lobby staff were friendly and welcoming

However, the location is the best part about Hotel Ruby since Downtown Spokane has a lot to offerThe only knock I would give on the Hotel is the noise that enters the room If a neighbor is awake and having a conversation at night, be prepared to use the provided ear plugs (yes, we found ear plugs when we walked into our room) or any other noise cancelling tools as you might struggle to fall asleep due to the noise Furthermore, it seems like the hotel parking area was always full at night, so that is another consideration to make if you are driving to the propertyAll in all, Hotel Ruby was a great place to stay for my visit to Spokane

Elizabeth Backstrom

Great hotel in the heart of downtown, walkable and close to everything Only downside is not much parking in front of the hotel but they do have parking lots nearby I think if I had a lot to unload from my car this could be a pain but if you’re a single traveler or have a smaller amount of stuff, it’s not a problem

Friendly staff, quiet and a nice area, I will stay again

This is a nice hotel but very

Odd The rooms are nice but then Track lighting? Fancy fancy fancy public bathrooms, all automated But then a stack of paper towels that go in a dispenser, just in a basket on the counterChairs are cool with their snake skin style leather and the art is all safari themed, marble entrance and all that, but no fridge or microwave in the room? The rooms are large but feel empty, even with huge furniture For a $200 room, I’d expect at least a mini fridge Even super 8 has that and their rooms are $60 a nightI dunno, it all says “Lots of money” but juxtaposed with weird decor and skimping on lightingOH and the complimentary shampoo and conditioner are nice, but bolted to the wall in the bathroom And the heating/ac doesn’t seem to be accurate and couldn’t keep the room a normal tempThe bed however was super comfortable!!

John Larkin

Located in the heart of downtown Spokane, this hotel is in easy walking distance of restaurants, breweries, wine tasting, the mall, Riverfront Park and the symphony at the Fox Theater Although the restaurant in the hotel looked great, we ate at other nearby Davenport facilities – brunch at the Historic Davenport and dinner at the Post Street Ale House The room was well kept and comfortable and the pool and jacuzzi in the basement was great

Please kick “like” if this review was useful to you – I like the feedback

I booked this room not know what to expect I was shocked and kind of it of place when we walked in This hotel is what we call swanky

We had drive 5 hours to get there and looked like we belonged at a motel 6, why lie The staff that greeted us was very nice We arrive a night early They put us in a room that we wouldn’t have to change from the next morning The room was a 2 queen room Was very spacious and clean We used valet parking and they were very pleasant and quick to get our car when needed It was so close to the venue we were there for we actually just walked there

We live a couple of hours away and often travel to Spokane for arts and entertainment and cultural activities The Davenport group of hotels were always our first choice This weekend we came down to take in the Broadway show Hamilton

The Davenport Tower, Grand and Main were booked so they put us in the Davenport Lusso We have stayed there many times before and enjoyed the experience It is no longer what it was No one to greet at the door, help with opening it or help with luggage No valets to park the vehicle or direct us to parking No bell people One haggard and unfriendly person at the front desk No milk or cream in the building apparently Not an apple or other snack to be found No coffee made anywhere whether complimentary or for purchase Coffee pods in the room but with only some cheap and toxic chemical concoction as a whitener Directed to cross the street to the old Davenport for coffee in the morning and found a line up at a Starbucks counter about 20 people deep This should no longer be advertised as a luxury hotel or rooms sold at luxury ratesMore

I had a very lovely stay! My room was clean and beautiful The bathroom was huge! The front desk was very helpful I would often go across the street to the Historic Davenport for the restaurant and the pool, but I liked the Lusso much better

It was the same luxury but quieter with fewer childrenThe pool at the Historic Davenport was very disappointing The pool itself was nice, but the room it was in was gross It had fluorescent hospital lighting and a water damaged drop ceiling – quite a contrast to the lux interior design elsewhereThe parking was close by and reasonably priced However, since it’s two blocks from the Lusso, it was hard to find I really wish they’d put the parking address on their websiteThe spa is lovely! Highly recommend!

Compared to the other Davenport hotels, the Lusso fares badly The decor is very plain and very brown

brown everywhere It was explained to me there was a shortage in cleaning staff, resulting in the hallways to have debris and black garbage bags of soiled linen in the corner as I made my way to my room The hallways were low lit and bare, creating a cold and distant feeling (versus the warm and welcoming feeling of the other Davenport hotels) The hotel room was nice enough – clean, simple art – but very dark A few buttons on the TV remote didn’t work and USB charging ports on lamps didn’t work At no fault of the hotel, however still impacting the quality of my stay, whoever stayed in the room above mine sounded like a stampede of elephants literally shaking the ceiling as they walked across the floor, making it absolutely impossible to embrace relaxation to read a book or needed focus for work On a better note, the staff were very kind and pleasant; thankfully, this positive interaction has always been my experience with the Davenport staff I do love the Davenport hotels in general and will continue to stay in their hotels whenever I visit Spokane I will just make sure all futures stays be at the Historic or Hotel Tower
