The Hampton Inn Laurel is a basic hotel The best things about it were: the location, the excellent staff, and the complimentary hot breakfast All the staff members were there to make your stay the best, and each took pride in the property they work at

The rooms are badly in need of renovation Our first room had a soft and old bed, but when we were moved to another room upon request, the bed was better In both rooms the bathroom sinks did not drain, although the showers were strong and decent The tiled floors need re-grouting The colors are dark and dingy, and the carpet had some stains The views were terrible, and the windows did not open for any air However, the A/C was sufficient There is no fan in the bathroom, which is a problem with steam when one showered I think that is a code violation We did ask for housekeeping during our 3 day stay and they did a good job The breakfast was very good and the coffee was delicious The lobby was nicely appointed and comfortable The pool looks nice, however it was not open when we were there I think that the staff goes above and beyond for their guests, but the sad appearance and condition of the rooms will lead me in a different direction when I book a stay in the greater Laurel area in the future

Just OK, seems dated, had to pry my Gold Member bottle of water and snack from the front desk member She stated I only get water, but the sign shows Gold or Diamond is eligible, she then obliged Weird exchange

Walls are super thin, as you can hear the cell phone ring in the next room, the whole conversation, them using the bathroom(number 1) and then washing their hands Like having a roommate, but not seeing them, only hearing them I will check other properties outside of this area moving forward

So this is my story I needed a room close to the surgical center to which I was having surgery early in the morning The center had suggested another place I think they didn’t realize that this place was open which was only 6 minutes away from the center Newly renovated you could smell the newness everything!!! Not even dust, or dirt in the corners of the air-conditioned

Lol This place is really nice Mind you I’m a Picky oneThey serve free breakfast, there’s free parking and most of all a Chinese restaurant, nail salon, Italian restaurant, Cafe that serves brunch, supermarket and others just about 20 yards across the lot walking distance Did I mention a gas station? But my real experience I have to give a 10 to Savannah the desk clerk this woman is The epitome of what customer service It should be From Reserving my room and throughout my stay She was very empathetic to my needsThank you Miss SavannahFYI the pool is openThere’s a gymPrice very reasonableSorry I didn’t take pictures theirs don’t do justice

The hotel wasn’t very clean I stayed for two days No one ever cleaned the dirty towels out the pool/spa room

The outside sitting area was never cleaned A lot of dirty towels sitting outside and on the seats ALOT OF ANTS EVERYWHERE! as soon as we checked in I saw ants crawling on everythingAlso the front desk staff were not friendly I asked if it would be ok for room service to clean my room in the morning because we had trash that was also bringing more ants around I was told no because the room service only cleans rooms that people are checking out of I stayed at plenty of hotels and this was the first I ever heard of thatAlso wanted to add for people maybe booking this hotel for the poolPlease don’t The water was FREEZING The pool room was FREEZING IT was 100 degrees this weekend but the ac is on in pool room and the water is not heated You won’t be able to enjoy the pool especially if you have younger children And the sight of dirty soaking wet towels laying around everywhere was just grossAlso the refrigerator did not get coldBut the hotel was quiet and the pillows were comfortable

Check in was smooth The clerk acknowledged me as an UHG Rewards member and that I had booked with points I was given a room on the 8th floor which is great

I do not like low floor rooms The bed and bathroom was super clean 👌 Great night sleep and the breakfast was good I would recommend this hotel and would stay again! No complaints at all

Marsha

Review only on front desk staff, and lower level of hotel I did not stay overnight Went in to conduct business

Great curb appeal off Baltimore Ave, College Park Quiet location, other than traffic Front desk presentation flows well, very clean, functional, gym open to midnight, business center, snacks at front, optional water, coffee where neededThe desk clerk was cordial, knowledgeable

Clean exterior upon arrival Lobby has good light and plenty of sunlight coming inside Desk employees greet you and are knowledgeable to answer questions or will find out for you

Room was amazing and had no problems during stay I will definitely stay again when in the area again I will also refer others Breakfast was delightful, and the evening mixer was a pleasant treat

This was my first time in a Homewood suit layout vs their other properties I travel all the time for work about two weeks to a month I thought it was a nice apartment like feel

Which was nice because I felt at home The hotel room had four-part area with walls separating each: kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom I really like the full kitchen with a 2-person table set up I was surprised to see silverware, cooking pan, dishwasher, and full-size refrigerator The bed/ bath/ living room were so spacious My service animal loved the owner and his staff

Ca Burnet

Cold showers Asked to be on the first floor they put me on the sixth They double booked my room and people barged in on me at midnight

UNACCEPTABLE Their tv’s look like they are from 1982 Lobby looks beautiful but the rooms look old and run down The door key scanner is broken and insides are exposed Not sure how secure that is They take months to reimburse the incidentals you have to pay for up front Not staying here ever again Recommending no one in our company ever use this garbage hotel ever again Would give negative reviews if possible

On our recent trip from Australia we stayed here for one night Unfortunately our room was very unclean Upon discovering pubic hairs in the bathroom floor and soap dispenser we were in shock

After driving 10+ hours and arriving late, we didn’t want to go elsewhere So we pulled back the sheets in both beds only to be further shocked by more hair We moved rooms but then further disappointed by no mention or apology for what we found Won’t be going Marriott ever again

Patrick Rost

I’m allergic to feathers, feather free room is listed in my profile when I checked in I asked at the front desk if the room was feather free? I was rudely told I “I saw it on your profile” I put my bags in the room and when I returned late that evening decided I better check the pillows When I did I discovered feather pillows

This seems to be a systemic problem at Marriott properties I have addressed it through their customer service, heard nothing At one hotel I had an allergic reaction causing me to take Benadryl to stop the reaction which left me tired for my only day in a national park an incident report was filled out and I was assured i would hear from a manager I didn’t and after a week I wrote a review then I finally heard from someone I also filled out an incident report and was told that I would hear from a manager before I checked out Nothing, it’s been a month Since then I always check before I use the pillows Problems happen it’s how you handle them that counts!!

This is a hotel that lives up to the Marriott good name It wasn’t brand new but it was very clean The breakfast was acceptable, and it’s nice to see hotels serving breakfasts again after a long hiatus due to the pandemic

The front desk was friendly The fitness room was clean and had some very nice drinking water Overall I would recommend this hotel

Casie Sulzle [Carlson]

There were always staff cleaning, and it felt like the whole hotel was clean Our floor even got shampooed during our stay, it was comforting that they cleaned oftenThe rooms were definitely outdated

The carpet under our chair was ripped up, the walls needed new paint, and our tub drained very slowly But, it seemed very clean and the bed was comfy!Breakfast was great! Shout-out to the chef because she came and greeted guests and kept everything stockedPool was a huge plus, as were the kind staff who recognized us in the lobby

Naomi Reinbold

I don’t feel like the pictures represented the hotel to date For the price it isn’t horrible but the best part of the room was the bathroom Our air-conditioner sounded like it was going to break off the wall, our TV was broken, when we let them know about it they sent new batteries for the remote, they never even came to the room to check it out

The pool was empty and being fixed We weren’t going swimming anyways but for people who have kids this may have ended badly I was just disappointed in the overall experience Hotels cost money and to have it be an experience where I was ready to leave at 1:30 am and continue my drive home it warranted a detailed review I will definitely not stay here again

Overall my stay was enjoyable The College Park Holiday Inn was located in a great area not to far off I-95 Ext

on Ikea Way and yes it shares a parking lot with Ikea The hotel has a Bar and Restaurant both reasonably priced Their breakfast buffet is very fulfilling and kids eat free That was a plus! Although I didn’t get a opportunity to use the pool, they did have a indoor pool in Tower One The staff were all very friendly My room was clean as well I definitely recommend this as a place to stay when visiting the area

Kala Twigg

Front desk staff were kind & tried to help as much as they could But this hotel is disgusting Not clean

Whole first tower smells like water damage My lungs & throat have been killing me Was contemplating staying extra days Definitely not now Moved rooms because the first definitely smelled of animals Children were complaining of that And water damage The elevators smell like urination And there is dust & dirt in every crevice Not to mention a very strange encounter at “free breakfast” which we wound up paying for I will be beyond grateful to be HOME (We originally wanted to stay at Hilton… it was having some Reno issues so they suggested we shop nearby, sad this is where we chose) Id venture to say the water/sprinkler system went off multiple times at some points in the past The carpets reek of water/mildew Convenient to the highway But … save your money people Drive elsewhere

Dan Royea

I really enjoyed my stay here Staff was very friendly and helpful Hotel was very clean no matter what area I was in, either my room, at the pool and in the elevator

I really enjoyed the color changing water wall (be sure to check it out) And this is the first hotel I’ve been to that has a doorbell for every room How cool is that? Plus the ring around the button changes red for do not disturb (also shuts off doorbell function) and green if you want your room cleaned Nice indoor pool Also has a nice restaurant/bar Outside was just as clean as the inside was It’s 30 minutes from the White House and 20 minutes away from the airport I highly recommend staying here if your in the area

The front desk worker was great! Her name was Sorta, extremely friendly, assisted us to check us in and we went straight back to the hospice center for a family member The young man (sorry don’t have his name) that was on duty later that night was also extremely friendly! Wow, two employees that was awesome! Only thing the beds were okay and the pillows was lacking comfort Plenty of items to choose from for breakfast

Kevin John

The staff here are so incredibly niceI’m an idiot and forgot my phone charger and the manager let me borrow one for the night I know it sounds like a small thing but it made a big difference to me

The room was clean and well designedHotel itself is perfectly situated between DC and Baltimore

We stayed here for two weeks while our home was being remodeled The location was perfect for us We booked two rooms as my husband and I both work remotely and had our double monitors set up in each room

The desk/chair was comfortable for working 10+ hrs/day The internet was fast and reliableThere is no kitchen but there are plenty of eating options just steps from the hotel There is a microwave and a small fridge The free coffee in the lobby was pretty good too!Our kids enjoyed the indoor pool as a treat and we made use of the fitness centerThe breakfast is cooked to order and served I would have rather full self service because it took a long time in the mornings, but it was good The food was fresh, especially the fruitsEveryone was friendly and the accommodations were comfortable overall It is not easy to live/work out of a hotel with small kids, we made the best of it and this turned out to be a great option

Shujie Dong

The hotel looks great from outside, bedroom clean and big Unfortunately, The bathroom smell of Urine When speaking to the staff who insisted that all rooms cleaned very well and she didn’t smell it and she stated she had a good nose

The front desk staff is professional but I cannot feel her warmthOther than that the hotel cafe’ staff is very friendly, look forward to switching to a different room this afternoon

VagabondMike

This hotel looks clean and modern, but that’s where the comfort ends Every expense was spared in the comfort of this hotelI’m sure they could have found a firmer substance for the bed

Maybe concrete, but even that may have been an improvement, at least springs wouldn’t have been stabbing at me all nightThe pillows are feather, but broken down horribly I would like to think it’s from washing them so often, but they weigh a ton for a feather pillow, which means they’re probably full of dust mites from years of useIt was clean, but I probably would have gotten a better nights sleep in the truck Spend your money somewhere else

Just checked out and I can’t say enough great things about this hotel I love the showers Awesome water pressure and they had updated seamless shower enclosures so there was NO MILDEW 🤩

The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly We were visiting family and the location was perfectWe had a nice corner room and it was very quiet There were a lot of people staying and we heard no outside noiseWe didn’t get a chance to try out the pool or the breakfast buffet but hopefully will get to next time we stay because I will definitely be back!

Dr. Abby

Nice, quick check in for a one night stay I was surprised to hear that breakfast was from 5:30-8:30

I woke up early after 24 hours of travel so as not to miss itThe hotel’s interior is recently renovated and the room reflected that It was clean and comfortable with plenty of towels and toiletries The hotel was quiet, shower was hot, and breakfast was decent My sink was clogged and drained very slowly, too late before I realized it And I think it’s unhygienic to put the coffeemaker in the bathroom

Janeen Maul

This hotel charges a $150 deposit that is returned after 3 to 5 business days It is not listed on the reservation or the confirmation they send Ridiculous considering the room is only $130 per night, I’m a rewards member, booked directly through them with a credit card, and stay frequently at other best westerns without issue

The woman at the front desk was rude, abrupt, and very unhelpful She took a phone call while I was attempting to check in and was rude to that person as well I had her cancel the stay and drove to another best western in Frederick where they treat their guests with respect and don’t charge a ridiculous deposit

The hotel is in need of a deep cleaning It was dusty and visibly dirty base boards, windows etc The bed was worn and the pillows are like small bags of rocks

Super uncomfortable stay Staff wasn’t to friendly and hardly said helloWe’ve stayed here before and each stay has gotten worse The bar tender was on her phone checking out social media while we were trying to get drinks We will not stay again I certainly do not recommend this hotel, there are other options in this area These were my pillows in my picture I literally folded them in half When I asked for new ones, they lady at the front desk was totally annoyed with me They did deliver 2 new pillows that weren’t much better and they said they could only replace 2, so my husband had to tough it out

Jacquin K. Savoy

My first visit to this hotel will be my last I had a bad feeling about this place upon arrival The front desk attendant was very nice and helpful, but the overall experience was terrible

I reserved two rooms and requested either adjoining rooms or rooms next to each other (for me, my daughter(s), and her friends who were celebrating her birthday) They allegedly accommodated my request, however, when my children and I went into one of the rooms, it was already occupied We had to scramble back out of the room as not to disturb the occupant Unfortunately, the only other available room was two floors away from my girls in the second room That didn’t work for us, so we wound up leaving and checking into a nearby hotel I understand an honest mistake, but it was late and we’d had a long day We were ready to hit the showers and go to bed Having to find another hotel after 11P was very inconvenient and even more tiring Also, IDK if the guest in the room we went into was a hard sleeper or what because they didn’t budge when we barged into the room I asked the front desk attendant to check on them I hope they did!

Leonard Spencer

Excellent hotel and great rates especially for Marriot Envoy point redemption I have stayed there on numerous occasions The rooms are well kept and very clean

The only reason that I gave this two stars rather than one because of the staff is really nice But this hotel has seen its better Days The rooms smells molded, it may be the carpet

It was difficult for me to sleep because of the smell I had a headache for the 2 nights that I stayed there My coworkers stated the same thingNormally hotel lobbies are nice and updated Not this one, so you know what you are going to get when you get to your room Even the wallpaper has scratches and dirt on it Horrible!!! Do not stay here unless you live lesser than this!

Gavin GUARDMAN

We booked in to a “suite” which is putting it very modestly The only upgrade was a bit more floor room It was on the fifth floor

There was peeling paint and wallpaper across most of the walls The toilet would not flush and ended up clogging immediately When going to the front desk, clerk was on a smoke break and had to call maintenance personally who was just not at work What kind of Hilton has no maintenance staff? We had to plunge the toilet ourselves Subsequently another person in my party tried to shower and the bath tub backed up When going to plunge to it to maybe try and fix it, black pieces came out of the drain God only knows what those were So we asked to move which they obliged The room the system said was available was not It was filthy and torn apart and smelt like some one had died in it from the hallway Back down to the desk we went They finally seemed to pull enough sense together to get us into a room seeing as how it’s approaching midnight and we’d be lucky if there was any more available The consolation was free ice cream and a changed rate The rate going from 135 to 99 a night In my opinion this place was comparable to a motel 6 which cost 30 dollars a night I probably would have slept better there I like a stiffer bed but I left with back pain The ac wasn’t working properly either as I dropped it to 66 degrees and the ambient temp stayed around 71 Damp and dingy The lobby bathroom stall is falling apart The pool was nice enough with a broken gate The entirety of the hotel comes from a time forgotten which was kinda cool for two minutes until you see how nasty it actually is I guess if I was as drugged as hunter s Thompson in fear and loathing this place would be marvelous But it is indeed a dumpster fire If you have live anywhere close to better than this hotel is not for you

Joey Meador

Before a long day of travel, I had booked a room at this hotel for over $200 in hopes of rest before a 7 hour drive the next day I arrived to a chaotic place with people having cookouts and throwing baseballs in the parking lot There was one person working on an incredibly busy night

I tried to go to sleep just before 9pm to no avail There was yelling, screaming, and door slamming I contacted the front desk They sent “security” up to quell the ruckus to no avail The next time I called the lady said she’d have them evicted, but still nothing I called the front desk 8 times over the course of 3 hours and as I write this the noise is still as loud as it was at 9pm This is behavior I expect paying $60 at a Motel 6, but this is a Hilton property charging almost 4 times that amount Stay away from this place if you actually want to sleep

Best hotel experience from the moment we walked in until we checked out! This trip specifically was with our family and it was a large group for a soccer tournament Lobby was big and beautiful with lots of places to hang out as a team Pool was clean and the kids had a blast! Rooms were clean and one minor issue was taken care of right away

Only downside I can think of is rooms need some updating with outlets so don’t forget your charging blocks they do not have usb charging as many other hotelsThe staff, I could right a book on how accommodating and nice they were to not only the adults but the kids I truly felt like the manager was my personal concierge and nothing went unnoticed by this gentleman he was on point at all times! We wonder when he sleeps as he was always there The breakfast and all the amazing waitresses were fabulous, definitely worth the cost!!! Plus they filled up the kids water bottle every morning and the parents coffee cups! I can’t say enough about the staff at this hotel they were beyond exceptional and truly made our trip as stress free and enjoyable as possible!

Everyone who worked here was so nice! The room was very large and clean The bed was extremely comfortable! My only complaint is that I was not aware that I would have to be given a voucher for my food credit since I am a rewards member and was not given one upon check in I didn’t get to use my credit my first night because I was not aware of this policy

The next morning, I asked for the credit , was told “ok”, and thought it would just be added on to my bill at breakfast I was told at the restaurant to go back to the front desk to physically get the voucher for breakfast I did not mention it while i was there I was unaware of how this worked at this particular Hilton property I missed out on my “complimentary” dinner the evening that I checked in which I honestly do not believe is fairThe room was quiet, clean, big, and nice Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly, helpful, and nice I cannot say enough good about them or the hotel! The hotel is secluded, also

I had a great experience at this hotel The room was exceptionally clean as was the rest of the hotel Even with 2 weddings and staying on a designated pet-friendly floor, we did not hear anything from our room and had a most comfortable stay

The staff was friendly and more than willing to do a little housekeeping upon request during our stay! We will 100% consider staying again in the future Thank you to the staff at The Hotel for a wonderful and welcoming stay Hands down one of the top hotels in the area for the price

Third stay here and it’s always awesome! Ladies at the front the desk could be friendlier, seemed grumpy, but other than that it was a great stay! Clean hotel rooms and bathrooms Excellent breakfast choices with alternatives to pork The housemen and breakfast attendant Derry were very friendly! Especially Derry, she made our family breakfast special

Thank you so much to her!!!!! Will keep coming back

I’m not sure about pets, but they are NOT kid friendly We heard babies crying at 6am and we never said a word, naturally because it is a hotel and people come with their families However, we received 2 complaints in the middle of the afternoon (12:30 and 3:45) when our 3 and 4 year old were laughing and playing in the comfort of the room that we paid for

Not in the hallway, not in the lobby, but in our room We received a call with someone on the other end saying, “can you keep your kids quiet?” When we expressed concerns about this and how the stay was uncomfortable for us, we were told that there are pilots trying to get some sleep When I checked out and again expressed my concern to one of the representatives behind the desk, another woman (not a manager) stood beside her and tried to justify the calls by stating, “we have other paying customers too” I quickly dismissed her and pointed out that it was one of me and two of them and I will finish my discussion with the person that I started my conversation with (which happened to be understanding regarding my complaint) I asked for the manager, who was unavailable on a Monday afternoon, and I left a voicemail with no call back or resolve We also had a teenager who asked to use the pool but was told that it was closed, only to see that it was open for other guests Pick another hotel if you have a family, especially if you have small children The patience and service is less than desirable, to say the leastUpdate…the manager called me back He was apologetic and very professional We received a discount for our trouble and appreciate the response and resolve

Beautiful hotel Great location for my work trip As others have mentioned, walls and doors do not filter sound at all

Normal conversations are heard 3 rooms away Next door room sounds like they are leaning against the wall while talking on the phone This is just normal conversations!!!!! Every door closer is not set properly, so every door slams closed… you can barely prevent it if you are trying to be considerate I’m a big strong guy and those closers would be horrible for a child, handicapable person… Won’t be back

Ellah

Customer service was questionable at first Upon checking in, I stood and waited for the front desk person to acknowledge me for what felt like 5 minutes while talking to a a co-workerBesides that, my hotel experience was pretty good

It was a quick one night stay for work The room was clean and so was the bathroom The decor is fun and modern and location was perfect for what I needed!Disclaimer: if you’re looking for a relaxing hotel for a getaway or staycation if sorts, I would not recommend as it was pretty loud and had tons of kids and families Which isn’t a bad thing of course, but if you want quiet, I would look elsewhere I agree with the other reviewers stating that the walls are pretty thinAll in all, I would visit again

We had a 2 bedroom suite (King + 2 Queens) It was convenient to DC The service (of the front desk staff and those in breakfast/evening social) was quality

Pros: plenty of room for my 5 kids, full fridge & counter in room, some basic cooking things, shower for parents & tub shower for kids, doors to bedrooms, clean upon arrival, front desk staff was nice, mini waffles at breakfastCons: furniture & things had wear (rip in couch arm, non-functional can opener), tiny cooktop, didn’t know we had to request housekeeping to get fresh towels and empty trashService only down a star because they didn’t tell us housekeeping required a request (This is a new, common thing, but we haven’t traveled much since covid and didn’t know)
