Excellent experience The room is really nice, the employees are all really friendly and helpful The casino had a good mix of games

The pool is beautiful and the pool bar was the best bar in the place The food was really good to, my only complaint was the pizza place The pizza was tasty but it took FOREVER because there was a long line and only one woman working there I give her credit though because she worked her butt off and I don’t fault her for the wait We’re definitely looking forward to coming back

Rebecca

Had a great time The hotel and casino were both very clean Great shower (but would have loved a tub)

Like most reviews I’ve read about this resort, it will get 4 stars because of the lack of a mini fridge in the room (this should be a standard amenity nowadays), and the prices of the mini bar items Most nice hotels now provide a few complimentary bottles of water, but if you wanted the water in this room it cost $7! Yikes Checkout was smooth, staff very friendly, valet was surprisingly quick Overall we would definitely stay again, but I hope they get on par with the fridge situation

Robert Orzeck

Went on a Sunday between 12:30-3pm Most all table games including Craps, Roulette, and Three card poker were $5 minimum (Blackjack $15 minimum) That was a very pleasant surprise

The dealer at 3 card (Christopher) was very enjoyable and fun to play with As long as the table games are affordable, I will continue to come back Very satisfied with my previous visit (8/7/22)

This place was great We stayed in the hickory hideaway which included a fireplace and jacuzzi It was cozy and comfortable

The staff was delightful, so friendly and helpful I’ll also add that the entire staff wore masks at all times (No other place we visited during our time in this area could boast this) The included breakfast was amazing I genuinely couldn’t be any happier with our stay

Ramakrishnan Balakrishnan

We stayed at Mountaintop Lodge at Lake Naomi and had a really good time Carolyn and the rest of the staff really take good care of you The lodge is very homely and the rooms are cozy

They have board games that you can use You can also get membership to the Lake Naomi club/recreation center during your stay The club has a swimming pool, fitness center, tennis courts, basketball courts etc It is close to a lot of activities The breakfast at the Mountaintop Lodge is amazing I’ve to come back for more of Carolyn’s strawberry french toast

Tom Leeds

We had to come to the lodge swimming pool bc the main pool up front was closed down I like the look of the lodge and we were the only ones there Much smaller swimming pool but the kids still enjoyed it

I was disappointed that we had to go there bc gallatia’s pool was down Luckily, bc we were traveling from Willowbrook to go swimming, we were prepared with hir dryer and clothes If we were coming from the main building, we would not have been that prepared

Pia Lari

If I could give Split Rock Lodge negative star I would I booked my reservation with Diego and was told I could stay in the newly renovated Galleria instead of the Willowbrook which is where I normally stay He said amenities would be the same as Willowbrook

We were disheartened to find our newly renovated room:• the overall size of the room was smaller than Willowbrook• the refrigerator was probably from the 1970s• there was no jacuzzi tub;• The worst part of the room was the ridiculous brand new couches which looked more like church benches with cushions The walls had murphy beds sticking out No one on vacation can relax on those benches that they are trying to pass off as couches These all need to be replaced with REAL couches Bel Air should throw them out and start overWe immediately asked for a better room with the jacuzzi tub and were moved to the outdated Willowbrook but at least we had a jacuzzi tubProblems at Willowbrook:• The elevator smelled awful; like something or someone died and they covered it up with carpet freshener• The tv initially did not work; someone came in our room later that evening to reconfigure it so it would work However, we quickly discovered you only offer “antenna” TV service giving us 5 channels to watch because they don’t have cable tv service We found out later that week that some rooms at the resort have smart tvs which allow access to Pluto TV Not the case for us though as we did not have a smart tv Speaking of tv’s; what kind of resort doesn’t have cable???? This is not 1970• The couch was so old and worn out; we sank lower than the bar frame of the couch In order not to have the frame press in our legs, we had to double the cushions to have minimal comfort (see attached picture the one cushion is so low you can’t even see it) The arms of the furniture were so worn, the wood frame could be seen right through the material We had to ask for extra towels to fluff on the arms so they also had some cushioning• The jacuzzi tub initially did not work and the faucets leaked when turned on My boyfriend fixed the circuit breaker so I could bathe and I put towels down to sop up the leaking water from faucets• The toilet did not flush well; every time I used the toilet I had to flush 2 times for the paper to go down The next morning; my boyfriend had issues as well and when we called maintenance to have the toilet plunged; the housekeeper brought a plunger and told us he was not allowed in the room because of COVID This is a lie; confirmed by front desk staff, he just didn’t want to unclog the toilet Additionally, the guy who fixed our TV had no problem entering the roomAfter that; we were moved to a 3rd room While the third room was similarly outdated; at least it had a newer couch and love seat and everything workedProblems with Amenities:• Hot tubs were under renovation and none of them were available to use• I could not find a working sauna• The pool had debris from the ongoing renovation floating in it• Fishing option at the lake was not available• Canoeing not offered• A week before our vacation, I called to ensure everything was set for our vacation and was told the gym would not be available due to the renovation When we arrived we were told the gym was now open However when we went to use the gym we discovered he gym equipment was dirty and there were no disinfectant wipes available to use before and after use to wipe down the equipment When I asked a housekeeper to put sanitizing wipes out; she said the person who runs the arcade would have to do that but she would pass a message if she saw her and suggested we do the same I asked for sanitizing wipes multiple days and no one ever put them out nor did anyone clean the equipment The machines are dirty from purchase and unsanitary; no one is maintaining them I am sure this is a health code violation• We were also not provided a $10 gift card for the Arcade

To be honest I was little skeptical when I pulled into the parking lot but after checking in this place was amazing Yes it is little bit dated compared to like a best Western but that adds to the charm of it The staff was nice and extremely helpful hell the chef for breakfast came right up to our table and asked what we would like

Each stay includes a free breakfast like an actual breakfast made by a chef Plus on property there so many things to like the pool, tennis, even various hiking trails Unlike a standard hotel most of the rooms are there own separate build so at night its like your drive through a little village I loved it and most likely will be coming back

Joycelyn Sabree

This place is absolutely adorable! Really nice weekend getaway for couples It has a country, rustic feel, which is nice from all the modern day fix ups Very clean and the staff is amazing and so friendly

Pat goetz

I’ve been to the Deer Head Inn many times in the last 15 or 20 years It’s a fantastic intimate venue for great music and food They have a nice sized bar, good food with a limited menu

The entire place is adorned in pictures of musicians and the like, many I imagined played there at some point I estimate about 20 to 25 tables and about as many stools at the bar Almost any seat in the house has a decent view, and is probably within 30′ of the stage If you love Jazz and want a nice atmosphere for a date night, or birthday, or just getting out to hear great music and have some food this is the place to go One of the absolute gems in the PoconosYou should definitely call and make a reservation, or you have a good chance of not getting seated when they are busyI have not stayed in any of the rooms, so this review is for the restaurant and stage only

Chris Burt

Wowowow! Came off the Appalachian Trail and saw this amazing 4 story colonial era building We heard live jazz music and an appreciative audience cheering Walked in dirty sweaty and fully loaded

The hostess, the staff and the patrons welcomed us openly We stayed the night, ate great food and listened to music that put a hop back into my tired steps Eat here! Stay here! Thanks Deer Head!

Best stay in the area! Not only was the house/room very cozy, but Tom and Maureen were the kindest, most attentive hosts They have everything from toiletries to snacks/drinks around the clock The breakfasts were stellar — Tom used to run a restaurant and leftovers of we packed up leftovers if Maureen’s baked goods for afternoon snacks

We also got numerous suggestions for sites and restaurants in the area, some friendly dog time, and it was the ideal setting for a weekend getaway Will be back!

Cambria Breitkreutz

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! This is a wonderful BnB with great hosts who go above and beyond to ensure the stay and experience is wonderful for the guests The breakfast was delicious with freshly baked scones and an incredible skillet We had to miss breakfast and Tom even waited until we returned to prepare us everything separately from others

The accommodations were clean and comfortable and they had all amenities, even ones we didn’t realize we needed Highly recommend to others and I would love to return if in the area again

Anika Masand

I have nothing but great things to say about Maurrocks BnB! We stayed for a long weekend and were so fortunate to stay here It is in a quiet yet convenient location Especially if you are goingskiing for the day, this is a great place to unwind after

The house is beautiful and Tom and Maureen go above and beyond to make you feel welcome They have coffee, tea, snacks and wine out for guests to enjoy at all times They also prepare a homemade breakfast with some of the best scones I have ever had I would definitely recommend staying here and I am looking forward to coming back!

Nice hotel for a last minute stay It was super spotless and clean! I don’t understand how this is only rates a 2 star hotel as we never staybat under 3, and I was so impressed! We came in extremely late, being too tired to drive through the Pocono Mountain night fog The lady who checked us in gave excellent customer service, giving us a late night gift bag

Also, they happily extended our check out time to noon, so I could get some sleep My only criticism is that the Breakfast hours are too limited

Stayed there this weekend at the 2 bedroom house and was pleasantly surprised House is beautiful and clean, the lake view is beautifulThe owners are very nice and quick to respond

4 restaurants in walking distanceWe will definitely be coming backThank you Rob and Morgan

Viktoriya Ua

Decided to stay in this cute little hotel because of other good reviews and since the price/night was unbeatable for the area Glad we chose this place Super cute location, very clean and nice looking rooms, hot and cold water in the shower runs well, coffee, fridge available in the room

From what we saw, it was pet friendly which is def a plus for our next stay

Alexa M

The whole stay was very comfortable and overall super great The hosts were very accommodating, nice, and welcoming The side of the lake that this inn is on is definitely the better side of the lake

It was so peaceful (which is hard for a lot of people to find these days) and seemed safe The room was super clean and smelled good (except the AC, which smelled a little musty) The beds were very comfortable, and it was nice that there was a TV in there, along with Wi-Fi The only downside is that there is not much face-to-face interaction with the hosts I only met Rob briefly but never saw Morgan That’s pretty much the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 Luckily, we weren’t in need of face to face interaction because no emergencies or any immediate needs for anything I just wanted to add that, in case some people prefer someone at the front desk Other than that, though, everything was very nice, clean, and comfy I would recommend it to anyone who wants to actually get away, and have peace

Amazing place for kids My 5 and 3 year old had an absolute blast Not sure if it was timing or not but there were just enough people there

Food options were pretty limited and to be honest not the greatest, but there are always options outside of the resort The activities and shows they have in the lobby for children are great My girls especially enjoyed the yoga The water park was great The kiddie areas were perfect! I would definitely recommend this place for a nice weekend trip especially if you have younger children

Carlington

First, our kids had a blast, which is what we wanted The staff was friendly and unusually kind They smiled at all times and our requests were handled promptly

I would recommend them for a great family getaway Let’s just say my kids wanted to stay there and we had to let them know next time we will stay longer Oh, and the food was good toothey loved mostly the water park, they could not get enough Overall, we had a great time

some guy in jersey

The hotel itself is nice They manage to pull off the rustic look and The rooms are nice but sparsely furnished

We had a kid cabin room and the kids loved having their own area with their own TV even though we didn’t spend much time in the room except to sleep This is a place for kids and as long as you’re not expecting anything like the Beverly Hills Hylton you won’t be disappointed The food selection is pretty basic and pretty much everything on site shuts down between 8-10pm so there’s no night life to speak of on premisesThe water park itself is very nice and well maintained It’s clean and there’s lots of lifeguards around watching the kids and maintaining order The kids absolutely loved it and we had to pry them out of the water every dayIn all I’d say that our experience was great with the exception of the last night when we had people over us that were just plain ignorant letting what sounded like a couple of big kids run around and jump off the beds This went on until I finally went down to the front desk at 1:30am (no short walk from our room) I had called down at 1230am to no avail but after going down it stopped around 1:45 but my wife was so mad she didn’t get much sleep that nightIn all I’ll give it 4 stars because my kids had a great time and that’s why we went

This hotel exceeded our expectations The room was very clean, I didn’t feel as if I was staying in a hotel at one point Usually I bring my lysol wipes and own sheets but after double checking the rooms cleanliness I was very satisfied

Oh and the breakfast? Amazing! various options of food such as make your own waffles, eggs, bacon, different breads, cereals etc The pool was also a nice size, warm and very enjoyable my baby loved it! Additionally, there’s a small shopping stand where you can purchase from 24/7 with snacks, drinks and some personal items if needed This will be our GO TO hotel in PA every time, keep up the great work!!!

I should have read the reviews before we booked this place Extra charges on CC ,rude employees Stay away

I’m not even going to explain what happened Just go somewhere elseUpdate: like I said before this place is terrible Just find another hotel and you will be happy you didn’t stay here The male staff were very threatening to the females in the group We felt like we were visiting one of those countries where women a treated like property Stay away from this placeRead the other reviews Extra charges on credit cards after you checkout and one or two rude employees seems to be consistant in the complaints

I just spent a night here with my husband and 3 year old All I have to say is I am so impressed by this facility Everything was clean, and food was great

There is so much to do for toddlers! I was in shock! Honestly even my husband had a blast and there are things for all ages Lots of booze and good food also We brought our own towels and I highly recommend paying for the VIP early / late check in service with valet It’s totally worth every penny They even give you free arcade cards which makes up the price The arcade was awesome too! So much to do I wish I had more time to have spent there

Great family destination with lots to do for all ages Kalahari is not the cheapest destination in the area but it is larger than other area indoor water parks There are several restaurants on property as well as nice options in the surrounding area

The rooms were clean and simpleNote: if you book your trip in advance, be sure to check the current rates closer to arrival We wound up saving over $500 by updating our reservation for the same dates Check your cabana rates as wellWe reserved a cabana for two days to serve as a home base for our two families While the cabana was smaller than advertised (advertised as up to 8 guests but less seating), it was worth it for the reserved spaceNote: it is faster to place a food order directly online rather than waiting for the cabana attendant It took 30 minutes to get drinks and almost an hour to get food This was not the attendant’s fault but still frustratingOverall, we had a great trip and would return again in the future

Luis Anthony

I am writing this review because we almost didn’t go this past weekend because of some of the reviews Overall, the facilities were very clean This was a major concern of ours before getting to the resort

The check-in process was easy and staff, for the most part, were very courteous You have to acknowledge that a lot of the staff, especially in the arcade and water park, are young teenagers So with that you get teenage ways and attitudes The water park was incredible The slides were awesome Be aware that masks are not a thing in Kalahari or basically anywhere in the surrounding area So stay away if you’re not ok with that The Italian restaurant was great We will be back during the warmer weather to experience everything else

My Hubby and I went for a nice/romantic weekend getaway The staff was sparse, but very nice & friendly

The hotel was very clean including the large, plain rooms You cannot beat the location! I absolutely recommend the Irish pub across the street We did ask for a change of our linens after night 1 & some more towels Someone from the staff came in while we were out in the heat all day, dropped off towels, NEVER touched the linens for us & TURNED OUR A/C OFF Not nice The Air conditioning could really work better But, overall, we were pleased & we will be back

We stayed here for one night on our way to a further destination Very clean and practical Great location- within walking distance to many things

The shampoo/conditioner/shower gel in the bathroom was a nice touch The walls are thin, but that is expected with the age of the building My only (minor) complaint is the breakfast- it would benefit from some protein, even if hard boiled eggs Overall, we would absolutely stay again

Excellent stay, excellent property Character for days, and her staff are the friendliest people, they really make you feel they are invested in your stay We are combining our 30th anniversary and a family visit in Bangor PA

We have been warmly greeted noting our special occasion They went a bit extra also Okay, the room is clean and very adequate, no odors of any kind and the beds plus pillows make for a restful sleep We are on the side not main street I believe that makes a difference in how quiet our room is Housekeeping is outstanding, the continental breakfast is very thoughtful The young lady working that offering is on top of it, an amazing human Helpful in every way We will stay here every time we return to this areaLove the Penn Stroud, we so appreciate you!

My daughter and I wanted a couple days away to celebrate Unfortunately, we picked a time when a few things were closed at the hotel (pool, ax throwing, spa was closing and no massage appointments) Although we enjoyed our stay (we got champagne and a room upgrade, which I asked for), upon checkout, the hotel charged my credit card for $291

Not pending an actual charge When I called they told me it was the incidental charge and it was pending When I checked my card again the following day, they had charged another $200 and had to credit over $500 back to my cardI sent an email to them for a review, and never heard back from them They managed to spoil a great couple of days with what happened on checkout That was just too badPlus sides We did enjoy one of the restaurants, but the other wasn’t as nice The guy at the rifle shooting range was great The property was beautiful It was cold, but we managed to get out and walk

WOW!! My wife and I stayed at the French manor this week and it was wonderful beyond our expectations which were high to begin with First, The place is amazing The main building is stunning and the grounds are beautiful

We stayed in the Nice suite which is freshly renovated and it was awesome The decor is clean and romantic and modern with charm Two two person tub was great, The shower was amazing and the fireplace was a great night cap after long days of hiking and site seeing The Pool, Sauna and Whirlpool are delightful We would go to the Sauna in the afternoon, hit the pool, then sit in the whirlpool all before an hour and half couples massage The Spa is great and everyone is so friendly The breakfasts were a great way to start each day and the dining room is super romantic We weren’t sure how many fun activities existed in this region in the beginning of January but now we know beside the amazing stay at the French Manor, we enjoyed a Great hike (one of the best I have ever done) up MT Tammany which is only a half hour away, the outlet mall, the casinos, the hikes and of course just staying on the grounds of the French Manor would be exciting enough It is a wonderful romantic getaway for sure!

One of the best vacations we’ve ever had The room was top notch, the view was amazing, the spa was good (not great, but definitely above average), the food

wow, was the food great The grounds are so peaceful, quiet, and beautiful We wanted a relaxing, intimate get away and we got that and more Really impressed and we are already planning a return trip for next year

Warren Shapiro

The good:Beautiful place inside and outHelpful staffReasonable wine prices for their limited selectionsThe not so good:The outrageous prices! This is not the big city and average prices for main courses of over$50 is not met by an adventurous high quality menu

The food was country the prices city!Once maybe?

We were looking for a quick weekend away in the Poconos This place is gorgeous We didn’t want a large B&B or a big chain place

It’s several buildings on a cozy woodsy street that look like large modern houses and each contain 8 individual rooms Very modern and clean Very reasonable Gorgeous pool and hot tub and everyonewas so nice Directly adjacent to Pocono Raceway and minutes from Lake Harmony and Big Boulder We will definitely visit again

Maxine Parent

Absolutely amazing stay! The rooms are perfect and the amenities are ideal We stayed during a road trip and chose The Village because multi-room accommodations are hard to find and we’re a family of 5 Our kids had a great time and got to burn off energy in the play ground and pool

There’s free wifi in the clubhouse… only not is that it would have been nice in the villas as wellBut we would definitely stay again

Anastasia Alexis

This place is amazing! Surprised my boyfriend with a weekend getaway for his birthday back in October and we loved every secondIt’s super secluded! Literally RIGHT by the racetrack The lobby is connected to the “clubhouse”, which includes a huge theater, pool room and game room

The weather was unfortunately a bust when we went so we spent a LOT of time playing pool! Hotel is dark at night so be careful drivingWe got the one bedroom suite, adorned with a full kitchen We made baked ziti and a birthday cake and everything worked great! The queen bed sheets were EXTREMELY warm and there was no fan in the bedroom, but the Poconos can get very cold so it’s to be expected Staff is super friendly and leaves you alone for the most part unless you need something and the hotel is pet friendly as well Only con to this place is that the lobby is the only place with free wifi, if your want it in your room you have to pay for it We bring laptops everywhere, so it was a bit of a downer Overall we had an amazing time and are already planning a trip in September! This time, we’re bringing a pup!

Just came back from a weekend here with friends It was wonderful We stayed in a dog friendly cabin – was great to be able to bring ours along

Check in was fast & easy We were able to get in early and enjoy the poolThe pool was a super fun vibe There were multiple drag queens doing performances and an awesome DJ Everyone was having a great time Lots of options for drinksWe had dinner and lunch at the restaurant I was very impressed by the food, but the service was a bit slow & chaotic First half our party got entrees, then our appetizers came, then 30 min later the rest of the entrees showed up The restaurant itself is brand new & immaculateWe didn’t spend much time at the club but it seemed niceI hope to return soon and spend more time here!

Been coming to this place for 8 years and I love it All the staff, drag queens (Tracy d Dior Ariel and Francesca) Are truly the best, big asset to this place

Bring the ambience to a different level and because of that we will continue to come We keep bringing our friends over and the community seems to be very nice and welcoming Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

Some details: *WE LEFT THE KEY IN THE ROOM AND LEFT OFF TO ANOTHER HOTEL* we booked on a Saturday night in April 2022 (so no pool yet of course) and only two of us for the booking I would steer away from this “resort” as much as possible When my boyfriend booked this for us, I was SO excited because of the pictures and the description of the whole place on their website

He booked it for us and didn’t double check with me The nightclub was a huge anticipation for me We get to the place, off the bat super confused where to park, but wasn’t a big deal Then we go inside to get our room key and check in, a nice woman at the front desk helps us and gives us room #1 in the same building as the lobby When we got up there… it was disgusting The room was still dirty, there were hairs on the bed, the sheets were messed up, there was a soda bottle in the sink and it was a super small room, so I definitely wasn’t expecting that That room felt like it was going to cave in at any second No TV or anything other than a dresser and a table and a really stiff bed We decided to ask for another room We spoke to another front desk associate who seemed as if we were an inconvenience, but this time they gave us room #5 in the same building It turned out to be the room right next to the stairs and we heard EVERYTHING The room felt SO dirty This room was clean but the windows were so crusty, the table was so worn out, under the sink was…gross The bed was stiff and it felt like I was in the 1980s with old furniture that came from a thrift store I felt so uncomfortable The lobby looked so nice and artsy so I thought I would be met with the same in the rooms No, It was not artsy It was gross We called another hotel to book same day and left the key on the table, that’s how bad it was The second room we were given had a wrinkled bed too I would give it 0 stars, but I can’t so it’s a 1 star for me I added some pictures to this place if you wanted to take a look They had two odd and different looking chairs next to a rundown table Hopefully they can learn from the bad reviews theyre gaining in 2022 alone

We made a last minute decision the weekend after our wedding to come out for a quick one night getaway I called over and the co-owner Mark gave me a suggestion on booking a great spacious room We love bed and breakfasts for their charm and simplicity, and the fact they are normally small businesses with care put into every step of the process

Frogtown was no exception Our room was clean, timeless and comfortable The entire building was filled with interesting decor Our host and hostess were gracious and accommodating We had dinner that night in the attached restaurant was Butter and everything was delicious and expertly prepared The staff was friendly and responsive to our needs Complimentary breakfast was equally wonderful and enjoyable We will absolutely be back if we are in that area again

Met friends for a birthday weekend The location was equidistant from Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Greenwich The owners are enthusiastic and passionate about providing guests with a great experience

Breakfast was lovely, and the fact that there was a bistro connected for dinner was an added bonus Chef Mark creates an array of dishes for breakfast and dinner that are world class

Mary Donovan

Comfortable and Charming from the Front porch all the way thru every inch of THE FROGTOWN INN The Food and Service is beyond exceptional The Bedrooms are all unique

Loaded with treats for guests I’m extremely picky with eating and I wanted everything it was all delicious We ate several meals and savored every bite that was so skillfully prepared with love and care, you can taste itThe front porch has rocking chairs that we enjoyed sitting in after dinner, friendly conversations with guests and localsI highly recommend staying here!
