Stayed for most of a week last Summer Not sure why Bella has 2 stars instead of 4- it’s in a prime location, the historic property is well maintained, the room cozy, bath & body products nice and staff knew the city and sights wellIt was a welcome break from the madness of LA, and l look forward to our next getaway

Kudos and thanks again!

Judi Steward

We stayed in the courtyard room It was quiet and had a beautiful view of the courtyard It seemed like my personal outdoor room

I enjoyed the lobby and had my coffee there each morning Very pleasant On Saturday evening the hotel had fruit, cheese and crackers and wine And live music, a classic guitarist, wonderful

Rad Radster

Sadly this place is temporarily closed due to the Covid pandemic Been wanting to visit and stay here at this historic hotel built back in 1927 Read in many articles and watched several videos on how this place is haunted! From the looks of it the outside is awesome

I had to put my nose against the front door to take a peek into the lobby and took a couple of pictures The inside looked really nice and vintage but kept up nicelyHopefully once it reopens I’ll be able to stay a night or two and maybe even bump into some otherworldly guest! When I do I’ll update this review

If you want new & modern this is not the place for you If you are okay with vintage & scruffy then give it a try This was my parents getaway spot in the 1970’s and not much has changed since then, lol

My husband & I stayed here at the end of AprilThe oceanfront views are amazing, gorgeous, fantastic, extraordinary!!! This is what the Inn is all about We slept with the sliding glass door cracked open every night and enjoyed the ocean air and crashing waves Every balcony has two chairs and a table which we used daily to take in the view The fireplace in the room was fun and puts out a lot of heat if you need to take the chill offThere is free parking on-site which is awesome The staff are very friendly and efficient Our room was clean Beach towels are not provided so bring your own The beach in front of the Inn is really nice so bring your chairs, umbrella, and toys Nice location with nearby amenities and freeway access We would stay here again

Kenyon Congdon

What’s important to you? The beach or the room? If the beach is important to you, you’ll love this place The beds are comfy and the people are friendlyDo you wantLight switches that work?Air conditioning more sophisticated than a box fan and a space heater?Hooks to hang your towels?Faucet handles that don’t come off in your hand?Towels softer than sandpaper?Outlets that work?Floors that don’t make your feet filthy after 3 steps?Provided beach lounger or large towels? If you want any of those, this isn’t your place

We affectionately referred to this as “dump in the beach” The beach is awesome

Randal Rogers

We were stuck in the Ventura area for a day waiting to be loaded Found this wonderful little place on line It is nestled and the roads end on the beach

Every room is a beach view The exterior is well kept and the management really makes you welcome There is a variety of restaurants within a block We were most pleased with our choice The manager indicated they are the lowest priced hotel on the Beach and he was correct

Rebecca Cox

Absolutely worst night stay of anywhere, ever The views are amazing, but the room is run down with stains on the carpet and the shower is completely questionable (I’ve stayed at campsites with better showers

) The absolute worst part was the domestic dispute going on literally ALL NIGHT in one of the rooms and there is no one at the front desk from 10:30pm on We called before the front desk closed to report the noise (yelled, sobbing, things being banged around or thrown) and we heard them call once before the staff left for the night – that’s it We called repeatedly throughout the night to try to reach someone – nothing Voicemail box is full, no back up person or operator Worst customer service possible I’ve received better at truck stop motels The disturbance started at 10pm and is still going strong 8 hours later when I write this at almost 6am We opened the window to have the waves drown out the noise and even with an added sound machine we could still hear the other room Not sure how the property is a 3 star other than the views 2 star at most(Restaurant has amazing food, but walked by the kitchen on our way out and saw that one cook didn’t have a mask on and the two others weren’t using their masks to cover their faces – nose sticking out or mask below the chin)Will update on whether they comp the room or do literally anything to help make things up to us First night away since the pandemic began 2 years ago and we have slept less then when we had a newbornUpdate: The GM reached out to us and offered a full refund to make up for the chaos last night Much appreciated Hoping they’ll staff the night hours with someone on call at least for the future guests

Dorothy Arnold

Absolutely one of the worst places I’ve stayed! Property is old & tired, but more importantly not clean, and seems seedy My husband’s nightstand was sticky; carpet was gross; bed was rickety Had a horrible night’s sleep as there no a/c, and it’s right on the highway

Between traffic and construction it was noisy as hell if windows were open, and had to because it was too warm otherwise Thank God we only booked one night! Would have gone elsewhere but we arrived on the later side and hotel is out there by itself The only upside is the ocean is beautiful, but you can do much better Skip this one!

Maria Wasnick

The views are nice – absolutely! But, our room was run down, carpet full of stains, weird shower Apparently, you pay the same price for an updated room and a room like ours – very old and kind of nasty Also, keep in mind that this hotel is right on hwy 101 and it gets very loud every time the trucks are passing by

Not impressed, had way better stays for cheaper price

No hot water I asked several times about the lack of hot water and I was told to just let the water run for 5 to 10 minutes I felt bad about wasting so much water but let it run and it never warmed up

When I complained at the front desk they told me they couldn’t do anything but they would have management contact me Of course management never did contact me I felt a partial refund would have been appropriateThe room itself was clean and efficient A little small, but not an actual issue Parking was tight, but was able to park in a covered spaceNot sure I’d recommend it based on management and the lack of hot water, especially not at the price we paid

PET OWNERS STAY AWAY, Poor Customer Service! This place lists as pet friendly, but I did not receive a welcoming experience by one particular receptionist When I booked, I confirmed with the initial receptionist that I would be bringing my small dog She confirmed this was okay and sent me my receipt

However, when I was a half hour away on the day of check-in, there was another receptionist who called me to say the hotel had made an error by booking me in my suite, and there would be an increase in daily pet fee I explained that my dog was an ESA, certified by primary care MD, hypoallergenic, well-behaved, and traveled and flew with me everywhere She was unapologetic, and rather than argue with her, I agreed to pay the difference as I was limited in options to book elsewhere because of the same day arrivalThe suite in itself, had some cleanliness issues – the hot tub had what appeared to be blood so was unable to use it, there was a 6 inch strand of blonde hair (I have black) on one of my towels, a used sponge for cleaning dishes, balcony that was filled with balls/sticks from the tree, and the heater rattled which needs repair I unfortunately had a poor experience with the one receptionist so was unable to request for these to be fixed When I explained some of the problems at check-out, the receptionist immediately compensated me to my original pet fee and stated she would look into the other itemsAll in all, save yourself the headache, and book your stay elsewhere!

Bonnie Becerra

My husband and I were just looking for an affordable clean place to sleep/shower and this little hotel was perfect When you walk into the room you can smell it’s been cleaned It was small but comfortable

Loved how it was in walking distance to everything We also had breakfast included at their restaurant and that was good as well We had an issue with our shower and they switched us to another room without hassle Could use some better sound proofing but overall a great place to stay

A few things about our experience First off this hotel is beautifully located on the beach and walking distance to the marina and restaurants Staff were friendly and helpful

However, upon our arrival most of the facility was under renovation My wish was that we would have been notified of this beforehand Reception was a little difficult to locate (understandable due to construction but more clear signage would have been helpful) I also feel beach towels should be offered (as is the case at other hotels I’ve stayed at) Once in our newly remodeled room the noise level was minimal to none The kitchenette housed a sink, refrigerator, and microwave along with a coffee maker Beach view from the room was fantastic with access to the spacious balcony from both the main room and bedroom We had easy access to the pool and beach Continental breakfast was yummy and consisted of French toast, potatoes, eggs, and/or omelet Complementary drinks (up to $12 per person per night) was a nice extra Pool and hottub were invigorating Overall I did enjoy my stay and the soothing sounds of the ocean When renovation is complete this will be a true treasure

Andrea Jedda

Usually, I won’t review hotels but I think this one deserves it*Before booking: keep in mind there is a huge renovation going on This didn’t bother us one bit but it might not be a good idea for someone who can’t walk long distance

I’m not going to lie, at first it was a little confusing finding our way around FYI You check in at the restaurant so follow the “reception” signsRoom:I was worried because my husband booked us in a first floor room, thinking it would be convenient location to the ocean, however it didn’t have a view of anything! I quickly ran to the front desk to ask for a different room, with any view, just would like a balcony “No problem” she said and upgraded us to a partial ocean view 2 room suite, which also has easy access to the ocean but it was on second floor Done! The fridge didn’t work but we never said anything, as it didn’t affect us Beds were comfortable The room smelled brand new Furniture was new Overall nice, new and clean Oh, and two bathrooms!Restaurant: free breakfast with amazing food and coffee It filled us up all day so we didn’t have to go anywhere for lunch We shared the burger one night for dinner and it filled us both up All the servers were so nice I really appreciated that We also got a $24 credit for food or drinks each day, which was coolThe staff: EVERY single person that works there… from the front desk to the construction workers, were so nice and helpful They opened doors, asked if we needed help with anything, pointed us in the right direction, always with a smile on their faceParking: convenient and secureElevators: fit our bikes perfectlyProperty: quiet, white sandy beach front, steps from whatever room you’re in There is construction so you might have to step over stuff and it might be a little loud at times but the staff is so respectful! You can tell they go out of there way to make it not bad Plus we had ocean view so I barely noticed or cared The grounds were well kept and succulents everywhere!Bonus: there is a guest laundry room and bikes to use

Cheryl Trimm

The pool is always amazing and so is all of the service we get My family has come here every year for three years The beach is amazing and I have a grandchild who loves to run up and down all the sand downs on the south-east side of the hotel

We also love how there are pretty much patios in every room In summary, this hotel is amazing and is absolutely recommended to any one staying in the Oxnard area

Was visiting family in the area and this location was perfect for us The room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing The pool and spa were nice as well

We ended up staying an extra night and Alex at the front desk was so great to work with and helped us with the extra night We enjoyed the breakfast every morning as well We would stay here again

Cheryl Mccoy

My son and I stayed here for a mini vacation to Universal Studios – and it was GREAT!! The staff was very friendly and the overall vibe was super cool We enjoyed one day sitting poolside with drinks and invited local friends to dine with us The food was yummy and they had a Gluten Free menu – so I had plenty of GF choices and didn’t have to worry! This is a very cute boutique hotel and I would definitely stay here again!!

Bryan Shaw

My room was paid through the day At 0715 in the morning, I could not gain access to my room I told the front desk, but I was told that I had to make a payment so I could get back in my room to get my things so I could go to work

As a military member, or cards come overdue quickly sometimes I understand that the hotel needs to get paid, but at 0715, and I am forced to make a payment to collect my equipment so I can go to work seems a bit of a stretch I could have easily gone to my base, explained what was going on, then returned prior to the official checkout time to get things straightened out But I was strong-armed to make a payment before that could happen

The front desk called me at 2pm on the check in date saying they need my credit card information or they’ll cancel the reservation I told the guy that I already put my credit card information when I was reserving the room on the Best Western website Also, the guy on the phone sounded drunk/high so I asked if they could wait a couple hours for me to arrive

He said no so I told him to cancel the reservationOverall terrible service Why ask for a credit card online if you’re going to call the day of the check in to get the information again? What if I was on a plane and couldn’t answer the phone? Why are your employees drunk/high on the job?

This is a nice hotel convenient to the 101 freeway There’s a gas station right across the street The rooms have kitchens including a microwave, fridge, stove and a dishwasher

There’s a small dining area with a table and chairs Unfortunately the bed was so hard it was like sleeping on concrete and the A/C was noisy The free breakfast has hot items like biscuits and sausage, plus waffles, bagels, toast, etc The coffee was great The staff were helpful There’s no restaurant so you have to go about 5 miles to find any but there are many to choose from

ELIZABETH ZAMORA

I had previously stayed here and my visits were always great however I tried to Block about 12 rooms for my wedding about five months before every time I would call they wouldn’t tell me that A manager would call me back to confirm a week ago I called and the same thing happened the girl on the other line told me I was also a manager would call me just to double check all the dates and confirm however I didn’t hear back from the manager I called this morning and come to find out that they are totally booked for the days I’m asking and the only thing available would be Friday nights mind you I need a room is from Thursday to Sunday This is so frustrating because now I have to try and look for another hotel that will accommodate all the rooms and have these available for my wedding that’s in less than a week

katrina gorgy

The front desk agent said my guest room number out loud during check-in instead of pointing to it like they are supposed to The staff in the hotel industry are instructed to not even say the room number out loud for privacy and safety reasons (seems like common sense) The guest may choose to read their room number aloud from the key jacket but the staff is only to point to it when handing over the key cards

I felt very unsafe and shocked when my room number was announced for everyone to hear The agents need better safety and common sense training Please do better

The hotel’s view on the second floor over the harbor is very nice Even without the view, the shower is incredible and everything is clean which overall makes for a great experience The breakfast could use some more day-to-day diversity for those who will be staying longer than two or three days, the pool’s heating could be more comfortable for the colder weather, and a larger trash chute or bin could be better for those who are planning to dine in the comfort of their hotel rooms

Overall, I would happily recommend this place; the harbor boasts some great activities and restaurants (all somewhat pricey!) as well

Friendly staff, quiet rooms, and yummy breakfast! We stayed one night for our son’s birthday celebration and loved it! Definitely get a room with a view! The only slight disappointment was that the pool and spa were at the Four Seasons and the walk was quite chilly (we went around 5 pm) getting there The spa said 16 or older only and the pool was not very warm and not visible from the spa at all I’m sure the pool is nice in the summer though

Thank you for a nice mini getaway for our family

My family and I absolutely love it here We visit annually and celebrate my daughter’s birthday here We love that the beach is just a 2 minute walk from your doorstep

The balconies bring a beautiful evening sunset and the breeze is amazing The jacuzzi rooms are nice as wellI’ll be it, most of the properties are a little outdated Beds are a little too soft, pillows a little too worn, white sheets and blankets may/ may not have stain on it Luckily, they provide you with detergent and the laundry room is around the corner if needed Our hostess was amazing and helpful Just a text away when you need Other things to note: Some units you get 2 restrooms and 2 bedrooms, others you get 2 bedrooms and 1 restroomThis time around, we unfortunately had 2 bedrooms and 1 restroom with 6 total guestsOther than that, an amazing experience as always

This is the second time we have stayed at this resort The location is only a block from the beach We enjoyed the sunset view of Channel Islands

We also paddle boarded on Mandalay Bay and rented an electric boat where we saw harbor seals and beautiful homes and yachts Shopping was only minutes away And downtown Ventura has wonderful restaurants

The location is excellent! You are about 1 mile from the collection mall The rooms did let in a good amount of noise Some of the things were broken or barely hanging on

The staff was very friendly The bed was very comfy and the room is spacious I would definitely return, just hope the tie up those loose ends for a better experience

We stayed here the last few days and I’m beyond disappointedRooms: OKAY There was hair in some of our towels and a rotten egg smell coming from the sink that would bubble up randomly and stink up the entire room

It was unbearable The sheets were clean though The shower seemed fine but the pressure was very lowService: Front desk and bar was wonderful Everyone was absolutely amazingWe are beyond disappointed in our experience I have always stayed in Marriott’s and they’ve never disappointedDo better

This is an older Courtyard with a nice staff We stayed for 6 nights in July 2022 They host a lot of weddings and conference groups so it can be busy

I loved the patios with a door that opens completely No furniture to sit on your patio but we loved the air flow Gym is well set up Guest laundry is $350/load and the front desk will give you soap The bigger trees in the parking lot will shower your car in sticky fruit so park carefullyMy favorite breakfast is to go to the food court at the Collection mall across the 101 Ragamuffin coffee does a perfect dark pour over for $4 Blend juice bar is amazing for açaí bowls and fresh juices
