The Sea Blue Hotel is such a gem if you’re looking for a nice, affordable stay near the Santa Monica pier! It’s literally steps away from the beach, restaurants, bars, bike rentals, etc Our room was perfectly spacious for 2 people, very clean, and nicely decorated for a “60s vibe” California trip There’s also a microwave and coffee maker in the lobby for guest use, outside tables/chairs, and a balcony on the back side with a nice view of the pier and ocean! All of the staff were so helpful and accommodating

They also helped us find overnight parking when their lot was full Oh, and it’s only a few blocks from the metro and bus stations as well!

JC Carlson

Great location! The proximity to the pier and beach is the greatest amenity at this quaint seaside motel-style hotel For that alone I would stay here again The beach is only one block away! The staff is amazing, so that is a huge plus

I had only pleasant experiences no matter what time of day or night and even some great conversationsI knocked off a star because of the bathroom It really needs remodeling badly The sink stopper got stuck in the down position a few times and the shower pressure could have been better if the water wasn’t also flowing from the main faucet at the same timeBathroom aside, this is a great place I hated knocking off a full star, but the review had to be an honest one

Kai Sheng

Pros: Great location and staff was very friendlyCons: Our room faced the street side, and there is no insulation or sound proofing on the door or windows Our stay was very noisy from late night guests returning home in revelry to incessant car traffic along Ocean

The shower head pressure is also very weak and showerhead is probably 5’5″ high The AC unit attached to the window is right above the toilet and doesn’t work! I’d say you can find better value elsewhere

It’s quaint & clean, and a bit dated compared to a name brand hotel, but the location on the marina beach is amazing, especially for the price compared to the surrounding hotels We stayed on the 2nd floor with patio overlook of beach 1st floor has a larger patio with a picture window view of beach

Beds are comfortable Mini fridge & microwave are very useful Wall A/C worked great Easy walk to shops, restaurants & ocean, and also a quick drive to ocean beach parking We would definitely stay here again!

Fraser Kerr

Was upgraded free of charge (and without asking) Rooms were large, quiet and clean, with an amazing view of the beach and marina Couldnt have been closer to the beach without actually being on the sand The staff were extremely helpful and friendly

It was close to some great dining and drinking options A mere 10 minute walk to Venice Beach and all it has to offer 10/10 will stay again

Jeremiah Ravenmoor

Price was a little expensive but the scene is worth it It’s very quiet in the morning which I love and any help I needed it Andre was there to help, the other staff while I stayed here seemed to enjoy there job and continued to work Will be definitely stay here again when I return to California

It’s nothing Extravagant but it makes up for Location, hospitality and costumer service

The view from the roof top is perfectly out looking the ocean for beautiful sunsets The balcony also allows you to see the fun filled streets below This top is perfect for beautiful pictures

As soon as you enter your room you’re met with a cute kitchen/living room area with sleek marble countertops and fun red brick walls Kinda off and more private is the bedroom and bathroom The bed is big and comfortable perfect for falling asleep after a long day vacationing To top it all off their bathroom is beautiful and modern again with sleek countertops and mirror lights on the mirror This is perfect for doing makeup and getting ready If you’re looking for a hotel with a good shower this is the place It has a glass shower with 2 shower heads each of which, get very very hot and the water pressure is perfect Not too hard but not too light I didn’t think this place could get better but it did The receptionist were the sweetest people ever making our stay more comforting and 10 times more enjoyable One of the receptionist named Danielle had my heart She was the sweetest and every time I’d come in and out of the hotel I looking forward to her greetings If you’re looking for a fun, comfortable, beautiful, and trendy place to stay this is the way to do it

Kelley Meadows

Nice location, great handicapped accessibility – bathroom in particular was well done!Gilbert at the front desk was especially helpful and friendly!Parking is awful though! Expect to spend close to $50 day/nightly parking…no parking available Drove around one evening for close to a half hour, there is no “free” parking as they indicate…day parking is $10 and nightly $35 and up!

Rasheedah

I stayed in room 307 on the third floor and at the back of the hotel on the side that faces the public parking garage next door Hotel is in a very busy area This is not a hotel for a peace and quiet type of vacation

Loud music all day and into the night Very clean and staff was very nice and personable Lots of choices for food within close walking distance Bed had a firm mattress but it was comfortable to me If you’ve ever been to IKEA, the room looks exactly like a setup in an Ikea showroom Very cute and eclectic It was convenient to be right on the boardwalk Easy access to the beach, restaurants, bike rentals, etc The shower was awesome! Good water pressure with two shower heads, one of which was a rainfall shower head The kitchenette had pots and pans plus a whole four person set of dishes and silverware Not much provided in the way of cooking utensils except a big cooking spoon and a slotted spoon This is California so be prepared to smell marijuana as you explore the beach and boardwalk If you are sensitive to it, you should choose another place to visit All in all, it was a good experience I give it four out of five stars due to the noise, but that’s not really the fault of the hotel so much as it is inherent to the location itself

This is simply the best hotel in Santa Monica The service from the booking process to checking out is exemplary This was my tenth visit to the hotel since it opened

Ramon at check in was so friendly and helpful – he wrote a list of cafes and restaurants to visit and told me about a local band that was playing at the hotel one evening that week The hotel also offers free bikes and you can book them out for half a day – there is a cycle path along the coast which is beautifulAnother person who provided excellent service was Tony on the bell desk – he is very friendly and helpful Jesse is also another excellent employee who is a credit to the hotel and he helped me with my reservation prior to arrivalThe rooms are spacious and have stylish wooden floors and the balcony is just the right size to sit out and eat dinner on whilst watching the sunset The pool area is clean and never too busy and the hot tub is a welcome addition after a day of cycling! The hotel is in an ideal location – 5 minutes from the pier and 5 minutes from the Third Street Promenade with a range of restaurants and cafesThank you again for another outstanding stay!

Teliese Purdy

After a long day of traveling there is nothing better than being greeted with exceptional customer serviceThis evening Ramon was kind enough to check the system and see if there were any upgrades available (per my request) He walked me through the options and price points and helped me select the best option for my stay

He also walked me through how to locate my room All of this with a polite and professional demeanorIt really set the tone for the duration of my stay and Ramon made me happy that I booked at the Shore HotelRespectfully,Ms P

Robyn

I have so many good things to say about Shore It’s a beautiful hotel, smells great, and staff are friendly, happy, and helpful Parking is easy and a great value (has in and out privileges)

Hotel feels safe, and location is prime You’re across the pier and walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, and obviously the beach I love the bike rental they provide, that made our Santa Monica visit so much better and I would stay here again because of their easy to use bikes and the location!! The room is modern, spacious, and beautiful They’re not your tacky cookie cutter large chain hotel rooms with the outdated carpets (We didn’t utilize the pool or other amenities but they looked great!) We are 100% starting here again when we return to Santa Monica

Freshly renovated The room was really nice Probably my best hotel stay so far in California

I like it better than the courtyard marina del ReyThe room was very quiet and I couldn’t hear loud footsteps above me or people in the room next to meThe service was good and the breakfast at the restaurant was great It is valet only for parking so plan accordingly if that is an issueThe surprise on top was the spray they provide in the rooms to help aid in falling asleep I was skeptical but it worked And have used it at home Great job Marriott

C. Paulsen

The rooms have a nice, roomy, modern design, but like most Marriott hotels, there are some minor cosmetic maintenance issues (baseboard in hallway needing repairs, wallpaper in bathroom peeling on edges) The pool was lovely and well cleaned The restaurant for breakfast was delicious and wait staff super friendly

Most of the staff was great, but there was a problem with my reservation (put me for 1 night instead of the 2 I had reserved) and when I went to fix it, the staff at first didn’t seem to want to help at all – like I was causing problems That was a minor blip to otherwise good experience

TIFFANY GUO

Incredible stay! Service was excellent, rooms were clean, spacious, modern, and it’s quiet in the rooms for a good night’s sleep (I’ve been at one too many hotels where you can hear guests next door entering / exiting their rooms) The only thing that was lacking was the water pressure – showering was not super satisfying with the weak water pressure Despite that, would definitely book here again!

It was great! I met great people there and I made some friends Great location and very close to the muscle beach Better than the hostel I have stayed in Arizona

I would have given a 5 star if there was no bed bugs I got bitten on my neck, head skin, arm, and they are very itchy Hopefully, they won’t infest in my house That was the only downside to this place

Mathilde Cusson

I stayed there 2 nights but almost didn’t come back for the second one John was very nice during the tour of the location but it was never precised that they have rats/ mice on the premise and one of them got me up all night chasing it away I ended up in the morning tired, With a hole in my bag that the rat managed to do to reach through my stuff

When I talked to the person in charge in the morning, she didn’t even look at me as she was on her phone and finally said « sorry we should have let you know » which is very limited… I will not recommend !

Ms. Mama Bing Bing

All the furniture is broken or falling apart, there is no proper place to eat your mealTables are dirtyThe dish sponges are really old and gross, unsanitary

The top blankets and bunks are filled with BED BUGS They did not exterminate Instead they blast the cabin at 120° and overheat your electronicsMentally ill people are long time guests who attack traveling guestsOn my last night I saw a rat in the back kitchenThere is no acThe doors are always openBugs and squirrels get in frequentlyBathrooms are dirty and tiny and not privateModern day slavery they “pay employees” room and board with $100 food voucher Employees work 3-6 days Podshare makes about $40k/month

Great hotel! Room was very clean I asked for a quiet room and they put me at the end of a hallway It was so dark and quiet in the room I felt like I was in a sensory deprivation tank! I loved it

The staff is amazing! Especially the front desk workers Super friendly and accommodatingI loved the pool and hot tub which I must say I had to myself The pool is heated which is very nice! The location is really great Close to the pier and beach and third street promenade It is true that there are many homeless people in the area However, the area is heavily patrolled and I didn’t feel unsafe in the least Having said that, any hotel near the ocean in LA will have the same problem At least the Marriot has some safety protocols in placeI don’t usually write hotel reviews but I really appreciated my time here and I recommend the hotel to anyone!

S Marisa

While I had an issue my first night, they quickly resolved and upgraded me to another room The rooms were spotless, I didn’t use the pool or the gym but the outdoor fireplace was great area to unwind at night The hotel only uses valet parking through a 3rd party just outside the front which comes at $49/night, there are other parking options if you don’t mind walking

Would stay again

Richard W

This Courtyard is new, modern and clean The staff is nice and helpful then here comes the issues:Homeless- not hotel’s fault but makes the neighborhood not comfortable to walk around

Hotel Front door is locked and only opens w room key that says somethingPoor soundproofing – People above my unit was super loud They woke us up every morning their walking or whatever they did felt like stampede Not sure who to blame but we didn’t have good sleep all those nightsThey didn’t recognize Marriott status and offer no perks or even a bottle of water… at least to me A Marriott I stayed in LA the same week treated me like a loyal member and I sure will go back to them

Lots of construction going on throughout the property Parking limited as a result Rooms are minimal and bathroom faucets are old and stick making it extremely difficult to turn on the shower and bathroom sink

Walls are thin and we heard neighboring conversation throughout the evening and early morning Not that guests were loud it was normal conversation but we Cod hear it clearlyBeds were comfortable and the kitchenette was nice

Joe Reiter

It’s a no-frills place, but it’s nice Room was clean Staff was friendly

Breakfast was good As others have mentioned, the one big drawback is the parking lot It’s very tight If you drive a large vehicle, you may have problems fitting into the spaces Overall, I’d stay there againNote: They have a private, inner courtyard Rooms labeled as “courtyard rooms” face that courtyard, while other rooms face the street or sidewalk The courtyard rooms tend to be more private and quieter, as you won’t get the vehicle traffic noise

Benjamin Cruz Perez

Good value for the buck! It includes parking and breakfast It is close enough to the beach (like a 10 minutes drive) and far enough to be away from the rush So you can have a good night sleep

It also feels very safe and the neighborhood around it too The room was clean and all in working order No issues getting in or out of the hotel

Prime location to be in Santa Monica and the rooms were super nice The balcony overlooks the beach side which we enjoyed a lot! The only downside of this hotel is the lack of amenities but being in such a prime location we didn’t really mind at all, and the hotel staff were all greatThe complementary bike rentals were perfect and and ended up being one of our favorite things we did while in town

Katie Mullen

This hotel exceeded my expectations It was excellent: friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms, convenient location, beautiful views My son got sick in the night and they were so understanding and helpful

We only stayed during the week so weekends on Ocean might be a bit noisier It’s exactly as advertised: if you’re looking for amenities like a pool, gym, restaurant, this hotel is not for you; however, they have a relationship with the Shore Hotel just down the street, and you can benefit from some of the amenities there

G T

This review is only for the parking service Good service and conveniently located from the beach We headed to Santa Monica Pier on a Saturday night

The streets were packed and so were the parking lots We drove around a couple times before finding the Oceanview Hotel The price was OK since we were carpooling in a van We were also short on time so this option worked out for us Easy access and we were quickly on our way after the valet park service

First of all, I loved the room I stayed in I was able to secure a room to accommodate my pet, so that was huge bonus points from me The bed was comfortable, the shower got hot very quickly, and the sink/table/microwave area was spacious

The front desk staff upon check in was super friendlyThe hotel is located by a lot of businesses so it’s perfect for walking distance The breakfast is within Covid standards, so you’re going to get simple, yet still filling, food items I was satisfied with the selection and have no complaints thereA couple of cons though – I stayed in a ground level room The floors are not carpeted which means extra loud walking from the occupants above me It was a big distraction so if you plan on staying here, make sure to specify a second floor However, there may be a down side to that because there are no elevators (at least in the building I stayed in there wasn’t)And finally, there are very limited parking spaces with the city not allowing street parking If you get a parking spot right away, I would strongly suggest not driving your vehicle for the rest of the night because it was a major struggle for me The front desk staff had to give me a pass to use at Trader Joe’s to park (which is about a two-min walk away)

Nikki Holgate

This motel was off a fairly quiet road This also means that there isn’t much to walk to It was good for a night, but the room was very cramped and with 4 of us I wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer

Courtyard was very pretty and well maintained – only one building has a courtyard There was enough parking the night we stayed and we had no issue with that Nice little perks like socks and snacks Overall it had everything we needed

Syed Aftab

Friendly staff and great location in Santa Monica Breakfast was included for us and it was pretty good They have a cool pancake machine which a bunch of other stuff like cereal and bagels

Rooms themselves were really clean Parking can be a little rough if you arrive late back to the hotel, but not the end of the world They did have EV charging available on site for free You do have to let the front desk know if you want to use it, however, the maintenance team was always quick to unlock the charging stations for you

An absolutely wonderful experience This is our second stay at the Kinney and we look forward to staying again in the future Such a cool hotel with great retro furnishings and wonderful amenities

Loved the pool and hot tub Enjoyed the courtyard ping pong tables and warmed by the fire pit How great to have cruiser bikes at a very reasonable cost on site and easy parking also at a very reasonable costStaff was polite and interactiveOnly great things to say about this hotel We look forward to calling this our home when we visit

Sara C

This was a really cute little find The prices were really reasonable, and the rooms were nice The bathroom could have been cleaner – particularly around the tub, but it was otherwise quite clean and tidy

The common areas were really cute and well designed and always clean The staff was also very friendly and helpfulYou have to request housekeeping, which I don’t mind, but it wasn’t advised upon check-in, so there was some confusionThere are a few random details that could have been improved in our particular room – the mirrors were only near the bathroom and the bathroom door made using them challenging, especially with 2 people needing them There was no trash near the sink, which was neededIt is also a pity that they have not yet resumed their food/drink, so anything you want has to be found outside the hotel and you miss out on some of the features that are offered on the websiteOverall, it fit our needs and our original booking rate was reduced closer to our stay I would definitely return and hope next time that they will resume food/drink service

Marie Henriot

Loved the vibe, the location (quieter than the beach front which was what we were looking for), the quad / courtyard

Breakfast options haven’t re-opened yet but there are plenty of options in the area so that was not an issue for us! Parking on site is affordable and very convenient Our room (we had the Boardwalk King suite) was so comfy we felt right at home: extremely well appointed, great bed and linen and that space! Bathroom area could use a little more light but other than that it was perfect! We will definitely come back!

The room was nicely appointed with a nice balcony just to the left of the restaurant, not loud at all The heated pool and hot tub were great and used daily (stayed 6 nights) There’s a ton within walking distance (groceries, restaurants, city park, walking and biking paths It was a great choice

Perfect location on the water The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating They go out of their way to make your stay as perfect as possible

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortableThe bed sheets are the softest I’ve ever slept on and the bed extremely comfortable We’ll stay here every time we visit

Please work on hospitality especially if a mistake is made on your endYou should try your best to go above and beyond for a customer especially if a mistake is made, I didn’t feel that this occurred during my stayFirst they charged my personal card full price for a room that was paid for by my company with contest from me instead of just doing the usual incident fee

Which was a major inconvenienceThen when talking to a concierge or manager about the incident they were very stubborn on doing anything to rectify the situation, but eventually they released the charge, but didn’t offer anything to rectify the inconvenienceThen there was the late fee, even though my stuff was packed and my room was cleaned, because I didn’t know what time checkout was and because I didn’t know that the hotel offered a luggage holding serviceTalking to a customer and trying your best to understand and help the customer would have been better than just seeming money hungryEven though they reduced the charge by 50 dollars which I appreciate, they weren’t very much hospitable or understanding La traffic is a monster in it’s own right and they gave me an ultimatum to come back before the hour even though they knew I was coming back or they would charge me for a full nightI was excited to come to this hotel, because i am a new traveler and this was my first time traveling alone, but the experience that I faced with the manager and concierge I dealt with cheapened and made this experience irritatingHaving a hotel manager insinuate that you don’t have enough money because of a mistake they shouldn’t have made was very annoying and unprofessional as wellThe facility was nice though

Location is great The rooms are nice and clean but worn (e

g scrapes and scratches on furniture) Rooftop lounge was trendy and cool Restaurant was not worth the price and breakfast not available til 8AM!?? Customer Service was spotty $25 Amenities fee per night added to price, plus $300 deposit refunded at the end of stay even though credit card used

I would like to leave a review on behalf of my boss He went to Womack and only sharing and talking about good things that had happened there He said that the guy from the front desk has a good personality

He was so friendly, genuine and had just positive attitude He wished that the world needs more people like him Appreciate him! Kudos for hiring and training great employees

A hotel 6 would have been better than this We paid $500/night for the worst hotel experience of our lives The furniture was old and outdated, the floors were dusty and dirty and the windows were dirty and couldn’t be opened

The bed was pushed towards the window with little room to sit and enjoy the view while there was a huge open area to the other side The ironing board didn’t work (legs were broken) and the chaise had white spots on it and looked as if it hadn’t ever been cleaned The plumbing was clogged and there were very few amenitiesThey had a huge private pool party the day we checked in (which they didn’t warn us about) and we couldn’t use the pool The party was obnoxiously loud and disturbing and had I known about it, I would have gone elsewhere They didn’t clean our room during our entire stay and on the day of checkout we were an hour late checking out and they sent security to threaten us Then they called our room every five minutes to harass us, even though we assured them we were doing our best to get packed upCustomer service is a joke here This hotel is a stand alone hotel and run by a general manager who doesn’t know the first thing about customer service The young guy behind the front desk is extremely RUDE and should be working as a bouncer at a nightclub, not a hotel The staff are untrained and unqualified to be in the service industry (except the Valet, who was extremely friendly and courteous) They do not know how to run a hotel and just trying to keep their dilapidated hotel afloatBe warned, don’t waste your money staying here! We’ve never been so disappointed This place is an EPIC FAILURE

Great place to stay Friendly staff Very clean rooms, comfortable beds

No need for A/C which is perfect, got to enjoy the breezeOnly thing that disappoints is the complimentary breakfast For $290 a day you only get a bag with a banana, a yogurt, granola bar and a small muffin, choice of tea or coffee And although there’s Socalo restaurant next door it is very expensiveOther than that everything else was perfect Close to the beach etc

This hotel is located on Santa Monica Boulevard but is 20 blocks (a 30 minutes walk) from the Pier The walk isn’t attractive either, as it’s dominated by car sales roomsBreakfast is a sugar-packed ‘grab bag’, due to the hotel’s interpretation of COVID-19 restrictions (which are the most draconian of all the Californian hotels visited)

The room was quiet, large, and well-appointed The Receptionist was really friendly and helpful The underground car park ($15 per night) was well worth it but the overall cost of the room was highEnjoyed the restaurant and service next door (thanks, Rodrigo) Overall I’d rate it as 3-star ‘average’

Stayed at the Gateway Hotel Santa Monica the third week of November for a business trip Overall, not a bad hotel if staying for a short period of time and for the convenience of being in the centre of Santa Monica The front desk was great and carried all sorts of toiletries (forgot some of ours!)They also offered a free grab and go breakfast before 9:30 am, but we didn’t get a chance to try

Hotel room was quite clean and bathroom seemed newly updatedHowever, there were some downsides to staying at this hotel The room perhaps was overly clean, as the sheets and room overall had a very strong chlorine/cleaning product scentThe walls are incredibly thin so I was woken up quite a few times by either outside noise, or noise from nearby rooms being cleaned, or construction noises There seemed to be some construction noises during our stay, as we heard loud banging noises from upstairs throughout the day Could have also sounded like scrubbing of a bathtub, but overall woke me up quite a few times There is also a restaurant right under the hotel, which also adds to the noisiness in the areaStill rate this hotel a 3/5 since it is in a very convenient location for a short stay, was clean, and had all the basic necessities

This place is great if you just need a place to lay your head and move on The rooms were clean and the staff was super nice and accommodating, but if you are staying here to attend an event or have any reason to get ready or put on makeup ( ladies) it’s almost impossible The lighting in the rooms is terrible! I really struggled trying to get myself put together for a wedding I was in and it made my entire experience very stressful

The layout of the rooms was odd too with the bathroom being segmented into 2 rooms

Priti Vaydande

The front desk is very insensitive and rudeI will not recommend this place at allI stayed for 2days in super 8 wid my husband and a toddler

The day of checkout my toddler was not keeping well and I called in for and extended checkout and was ready for the fee as well the front desk guy was very rude and said we cudnt stay even 5mins longer In the room, even a 5star hotel gives a extended check-out on request I dont know why did he refused inspite of telling him about my toddlers health RUBBISH attitude of the front desk guy with the long hair who was busy knitting, and didn’t care about our concern

THE HAPPY HOTEL ! We were off to Santa Monica again for a weekend getaway My wife found this boutique style hotel online

it ticked the all the important boxes we wantedclose to restaurants we liked, Tesla Destination Charger ( 2 ) in secure underground carpark and super friendly staff There was another unexpected bonus tooI phoned Leo at reception on Thursday and asked if they had a storage room for our expensive electric bikes Yes indeed was his reply ! We hit the road about 11am on Friday for the 113 mile drive which could easily take over 2 hours We did take a small detour to grab some lunch at a cafe on Rose Ave, Venice but couldn’t find a street parking spot close enough to the cafe to watch our eBikes So we decided to head to the hotel and drop off our eBikes so we didn’t have to worry where we parked My wife and I arrived at reception at 1pm Alfred who is one the managers and his lovely co-worker Maryam looked after us in exceptional fashion We truly had a wonderful welcome ! Yes they would put our bikes in a storage room near reception right away Even though check-in was not til 3pm we could also check in straight awayour PREMIUM KING ROOM ( about $400 a night all up ) was ready OKAY ! We decided to cut our losses and take our luggage up to our 4th floor room then walk across the street for a quick bite at Tartine We walked across to Tartine about 140pm and there was a line out the doorcounter servicevery slow and over priced After waiting a few minutes we decided to exit stage left and go grab our wheels We drove 6 minutes to our fav brunch place BLUE DAISY on Broadway and enjoyed a beautiful lunch Getting back to the hotel we plugged in my wife’s Tesla Y at one of the 2 TESLA DESTINATION CHARGERS on the upper level of the 2 level underground carpark ( must have about a 50 car capacity ) After sorting out our luggage in our room we put on our biking gear and went for a bike ride to the Santa Monica Pier at about 4pmonly 2 miles away Angelina and Maryam at reception were very helpful when we asked for dinner ( we wanted pizza ) suggestions for Friday evening but we followed our own hunch in the end Later in the evening we drove to a fabulous pizza / wine bar called SOUTH END in Venice just 20 minutes away Their delicious sourdough pizza, Italian pale ales and amazing hand made tiramisu were just what we wanted Our room was very quiet with the huge flat screen TV running but when we decided to turn in for the nightthe pesty little built-in bar fridge had a rattle all of it’s own We unplugged it so we could sleep Of course I turned it back on in the morning to keep my premium craft beers ice coldand it did ! Other than both sets of our pillows being on the too high too firm side everything else was fine Our bed was very comfortable, the shower worked well straight awayplenty of fresh new white towels I requested softer feather down pillows at reception in the morning and they were in our room when we returned from a lovely breakfast at BLUE DAISY on Broadwaywe rode our eBikes there in only 6 minutes Oh and the new softer pillows were perfect for a great night’s sleep on Saturday after a wonderful birthday celebration dinner at the upscale FIA RESTAURANT on Wilshire Blvdjust 1/2 a mile away Of course we drove over to BLUE DAISY on Broadway for a sumptuous brekkie on Sunday morning The hotel even lays on a HAPPY HOUR in the shut down breakfast dining room adjacent to reception every afternoonyou can get a cappuccino too They even provide a small fleet of bicycles which guests are free to use We totally enjoyed our time here Every staff member we came into contact with during our weekend stay was very friendly and very helpful HIGHLY RECOMMEND !

The interactions with all of the staff were impeccable Being a Diamond member with 100+ nights in 2022, I have to say I am beyond impressed with the high level of service that was provided from front desk to bell hop to house keeping The staff remembered me by name

The rooms were clean spacious updated and with ample amounts of phone outlets The firepit and pool areas were great places to relax after a day of sunshine I look forward to returning to this hotel in the future!

We came in town for my husband’s birthday We were there for 3 days and had so much fun All of the staff was great

The rooms were clean and the bed is really really comfortable I love the location and the breakfast was really good Rita made sure we got the most out if our cocktails that night The gentleman at the front desk (I forgot his name) was extremely helpful in helping us find a few places to go

lena vasilyeva

I don’t know who wrote 5 star reviews describing a bellhop and service, I found this place very poorly run, dirty, unattended most of the time and very much like a motel When I got there with a huge suitcase I had to drag it over the entrance that’s fitted with boulder-like non-slip feature which is fine if you can get help but there was no one The carpeting on the floor is thick and nothing rolls over it

The carpet on the floor has huge stains and looked very old Breakfast was disgusting, no coffee, no one to ask about it 15 mins later someone appeared to refill the brew Food selection was on the level of an airport motel This place is a rip off Stay away

The hostel has a dinning area which is a good place to share breakfast or a quick meal and catch up on travel ideas or updates with other travellers or simply share a conversation Rooms are clean and quiet and there are lockers if you happen to want to use oneIt’s in Santa Monica, near 3rd street promenade and the Santa Monica Pier

There is also a grocery store a few blocks up and a range of dinning options, from street food to almost anything you might wanna eat You can find the beach crossing the other side of the road and all in all, you’re staying in a landmark area of W LA It’s a cool place

Great hostel for a first timer! Check in time was a little long, but the room was spacious and the showers were very very clean They provide everything you need, and it’s all close to the Santa Monica pier and mountains, making it an affordable and ideal place to stay in this area Park your car right across the street in the garage, that’s affordable too!

Saenz A

Stayed here a couple of times already and love it I felt safe and met great people They have a big kitchen where you can cook and fridge/ freezer to store food

They have vending machines by the kitchen It’s close to the beach and stores There is a juice place next door ( a bit expensive), and Hot8 Yoga Sprouts is about a 10-15 minute walk (near Target) Just be alert because there are a lot of homeless people with mental disorders There is a big parking lot across the street but don’t know how much per day The staff was pretty nice too

It’s an older motel so some things are to be expected like the thin walls and small bathrooms The heater didn’t work in our room In one bed you could feel the springs in the mattress

The other bed the mattress was very hard The fan had a ton of dust on it although it was cold so we didn’t need it lol But the staff was awesome, the soap was awesome and we received a breakfast in a paper back So 35☆ Oh and it’s about 13 miles from the peir
