My family and I stayed here for three nights The best thing about this place is the location! However, the rooms and service needs improvement I made a list to give you a better idea of pros and cons about this place

Pros: Location, cleanness, sand toys for kids, bonfire, kitchen supplies, friendly and quite atmosphereCons: small rooms, very uncomfortable furniture, staff is not there to assist with needs and not very friendly

Amy Woodson

The location can’t be beat I loved the deck and firepit The service was also great

My only suggestion would be to improve the rooms A can of paint can work miracles Small investment Also the mattresses need replaced Very uncomfy A small investment to make it nicer would be ideal Both us and our neighbors agreed we would pay more to have those improvements

We stayed at the Legacy Vacation Resort in Indian Shores FL in February 2022 I can’t say enough nice things about this business First of all it’s a “B Corporation” which I had not heard of before

It means that the company takes social and environmental concerns into account instead of just pure profit So that was an unexpected plus It was across the street from the beach, backed up onto the inter-coastal and had spacious rooms The staff was excellent and answered any questions and even made phone calls for me regarding special requests that I had for restaurants There are grills that you can use to cook your own food if you would like You have to reserve them to make sure they’re available but this was no problem Someone will come down to uncover the grill and preheat it Utensils are available to use and when you’re done they clean the grill! The rooms are not cleaned daily unless requested for an extra fee, but linens and towels are exchanged daily if you want Dishes and utensils are included A dishwasher is provided and they give you dish washing detergent A small sponge and dish soap is also provided The only negative about the whole stay was there was no scouring pad for the dishes My grandson decided he would cook one night He knows little about cooking and even less about cleaning after himself I couldn’t get the pots clean with the sponge they provided I asked one of the staff and they were able to come up with a pad for me, even though they insisted I leave the dishes and pots for them The pool was good sized but not overly large, and they actually had a hot tub that they kept hot which I found both unusual for Florida and enjoyable! I was there with kids and grand kids and we had a two bedroom suite with two baths, included kitchen etc If you are traveling with the family and plan on doing some of your own cooking, I can’t recommend this location enough I would definitely stay here again

Jill

We stayed here two years ago when covid was just starting I was interested to see how it would be on a holiday week in 2022 It was still great! The pool was never really busy, super convenient to the beach and the pier out back

The building is so quiet Staff was wonderful, we had an accident that they had cleaned up when we returned at the end of the day Highly recommend staying here

Thomas Tweten

We stayed 1 night to kick off our trip Excellent value The rooms were newly updated and clean with nice walk in shower

Smooth check in and excellent staff The area is nice and a short trip to John’s pass and other activities Right across the street from the beach and on the intercoastal Covered parking was a nice benefit We would be happy to stay here again

Let me say that the location is great You’re a stones throw from the beach and Johns Pass (Johns pass offers shopping, dining and entertainment) We booked our stay through a website called itrip and let me tell you, they were geniuses in their marketing

They must’ve taken pictures when it was newly renovated because nothing had been done in years, no maintenance no nothing The “fire pit” looked like it sat outside for ten years, the cushions hadn’t been changed in probably a few years The pool was warm but oh so tiny-we stayed in the sky villa, a two bedroom one bathroom-the second bedroom wasn’t big enough for a pack and play That’s correct folks, it wasn’t even like three feet wide-the desk in the bedroom was broken, you couldn’t use it You opened it and the hinge was broken almost rendering the face to call to the ground-the coffee table was broken, our 19 month old put her hands on the top and the whole thing almost collapsed We noticed a leg was completely detached-the lights flickered constantly-the tvs were rokus so you had two different remotes, figuring out the cable was a nightmare-the cleaning was subpar I took photos of all the hair, dirt and debri that I swept up-the shower curtain was way too tiny for the shower so water went all over the floor (causing the outside bottom of tub to begin to mildew)-the wooden railing upstairs was broken, so there was no way my 19 month old could run around outside upstairs, in fear of another piece breaking-there was NO HAND SOAP I couldn’t believe it ZERO hand soap We were left washing our hands with Palmolive all week-the “amenities,” such as beach carts were all busted, some missing wheels etcThe pictures look so beautiful but it was dumpy We won’t be staying again

Giving this place a solid 5 stars! My friends and I stayed for 4 nights last week and we couldn’t have asked for more Spacious well equipped room with a wonderful balcony (sunset view included with ours!), awesome front desk associates with great suggestions, super duper beautiful waterside pool and hot tub, great bar/bartender (Kelly!) and a convenient 18 minute walk to a great beach (where you can rent a beach chair for $5 forthe whole day)! I would come back here any day of the year Thank you Courtyard Marriott Madeira Beach for a perfect stay!

This experience was terrible Our first day here, we were able to switch rooms but my wife forgot her wedding rings in the first room We informed front desk guy, Brian, who sent an employee to let us back into the room to search for the rings

They rings were not there When we went down to inform Brian at the front desk, he vehemently denied that anyone might have taken them I asked him to ask the only housekeeping employee who had cleaned that room after we switched rooms Brian called and we heard the guy say he found 2 rings and that he “forgot ” to bring them down REALLY??? Why didn’t front desk call housekeeping right away to check if he found the rings when we called down the first time?We stayed 7 days last year and enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to come back this year to stay another 8 days With this incident and now they decided to charge $10 parking per day, we’ll take our business elsewhere This is not okay and I am a silver elite member with Marriott

Chris Sorento

Top notch service These people are very good making you feel important and they are very professional Rooms were clean

Loved the balcony Good treadmills The location was beautiful and close to publix and other food like McDonald’s and a pizza place Plus they have a bistro The legion was loud next door but could not hear them with patio shut The bad thing was the pool It looked very dirty Did not want to get sick swimming in it Lighting in room and bathroom was dark Beds were hard but better than lumpy Would stay here again if the pool gets cleaner

Hidden Gem! We were lucky to find an available room the week of school vacation and we were pleasantly surprised We had a room overlooking the pool with a bonus partial gulf view The room was spacious for us (2 adults, 2 small kids)

The kitchen was fully stocked which came in handy for in room meals with the kids The amenities are all new or updated including a rooftop deck which is great for watching the sunsets There is a shallow pool in addition to the regular pool and hot tub which was a hit with our kids The way they do housekeeping is perfect because we were always back and forth to the room from the pool or the beach The staff was super friendly and helpful The proximity to John’s Pass made dinners a breeze Stayed for 5 days and didn’t want to leave Will definitely be staying here again

Laurie Hayduk

The 2 bedroom 2 bath premium suite was fabulous The suite was modern, clean and very large Sadly the pull out bed was pretty uncomfortable but the other beds were great

Everything was very clean There were plenty of kitchen items if you wanted to cook but we ate out for every meal A fabulous place right on the beach We were very impressed

Whitney Grabill

Perfect location!! This hotel was beautiful and family friendly as we stayed with our 3 young kids Beach literally footsteps from parking lot and John’s Pass was a few minute walk with plenty of places to eat/drink Our room was supposed to be poolside view and ended up with pool and partial gulf view which was a very nice surprise

We hope to be back to Barefoot Beach Club!

This place would get no stars if possible

Rooms are outdated, the beds might as well be made out of granite sitting on a pile of rusty springs If you don’t have any money, very little expectations and love sleeping on hard loud surfaces this place is for you I don’t think we even saw anyone that works here, checked in on phone and keys where sitting outside waiting On the bright side it’s is close to the beach and one one the cheapest options around But there’s reasons for that

Rhonda Kiser

Upon checking into the room there was an overwhelming mold smell Since this was reserved through Airbnb I reached out to them for help They tried to contact the Monterey and has no response

It took 2 hours for Airbnb to get this reservation canceled and us placed in a new place due to the Monterey never responding back I was asked to review the Monterey through Airbnb and I stated the above in my review The Monterey replied that “This guest canceled last minute and did not stay” Clearly a sad and untrue response coming from a business Do better Monterey!!

My Family has been coming to Far Horizons for 20+ years for our family reunion This year has been frustrating The pool was always dirty

The breezeway hardly ever got cleaned The back deck was always dirty Table and chairs never cleaned and falling ng apart Hot water got shut off without notice Just seemed like they never had anyone working It’s also very frustrating that the the Far Horizons doesn’t use computers for reservations and there office staff hardly ever works, “in at 9 or 10 and they leave whenever they want” I know it’s hard to hire staff now a days but it’s sad to see this place looking/turning into a “trashy motel”

Lady Equinox

It was amazing A perfectly sized kitchen with everything you need, a heated pool, extra blankets, and a perfect view of the ocean Literally walk through one doorway and bam! Theres the ocean

Its amazing, and such a comfortable spot The bathrooms are stocked with hand soap and toilet paper, and the towels, trash bags, and tissues are all kept up Definitely staying here again when I take a vacation again

Justin Babcock

I wish I knew how to describe this place better, but it reminded me of when my Dad took us to the beach in the 80s There can’t be more than 20 rooms My kids made friends immediately

Everyone was so friendly, and you step out of your room onto the beach We could walk to breakfast There was a great coffee place with a walk up window a block from the place It was a perfect weekend getaway with the family

We had a great time at this hotel We stayed in room across the street and it was perfect for our family The kitchen had everything to spend a weekend with the family

Pool was small but well maintained Beach was amazing Property had hammocks, BBQ, beach toys, beach towels and chairs for $10 rent fee for the entire stay so worth it Watching the sunset every night was a highlight of the trip

Jeffrey Brewer

This hotel is really a budget hotel with fair accommodations If you are looking for something affordable for a night or two, this place should fit the bill We just came over from the East coast of Florida, to enjoy the Gulf side for the day

We enjoy watching the sunsets from St Pete Beach and taking in on all the sites Unfortunately, it rained but we made the best of our visit The accommodations can be found in my pictures, and as far as the staff-I only saw two members during my stay They were pleasant and did their job, which I have no complaints about If you want a no frills place that is close to the beach, this what you get with this place Our room was located across the street from the main hotel, which for us, was a bigger room and more parking

Leena

Better than most hotels I booked last minute on the way home & it was a pleasant surprise My room cost 250 after fees for a king size bed with kitchen

It had a normal size fridge, cooking pots/pans/utensils, stove top, full bathroom, & closet Steps to the beach and close to food/barsDefinitely would come back!!

This is a very neat location, never been in anything like it before But

the rooms are extremely dated, not worth anywhere near the price they are charging And now they charge for parking? The employees were all extremely nice and helpful Restaurant staff didn’t show so had to wait 40 minutes on breakfast Ordered oyster and they were out of them, so ordered shrimp They were terrible, no taste and mealy I also order a salad that was excellent and the crab legs were good Just to recapp nice place but way way overpriced

Cori Lei

1 minute from Indian Rocks Beach which is great! Located in walking distance to a few restaurants as well, which is convenient Check-in and check-out went smoothly The room is spacious with a mini kitchen

I was impressed with the bathroom and the hot water I love the scenery and the amenities that this property offers Water park and mini golf is great for a family vacation I will definitely be back!

Jay Kielt

A review is not meant to be cruel, so I will simply say that I would never consider this hotel as an option in the future unless every other hotel within a 25 mile radius simultaneously burnt to the ground at the exact same time I’m sure this place was great back in the late 70s or early 80s, which is most likely the last time it was updated Wait staff in the restaurant was nice, food was mediocre at best

Good parking situation which is why I gave it 1 star

Diane Gray

Judy , the owner was so kind when taking my reservation, even asking when I would arrive being sure the room would be ready She texted me on the arrival day to tell me the room was ready No one has ever done that for me

Calling me names and said he wanted to know where I lived and was going to follow me home I was checking out the property as a current timeshare owner of InnSeasons Resorts as I thought they were related Will NOT be backUpdate: The maintenance man never ask if I needed assistance or directions He started yelling “you don’t have a wristband” and I was confused and he was excited and aggressive Not kind or friendly at all Never instructed me to the office So glad this is not a timeshare I own Phew 😮‍💨

THESE ROOMS ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF RENOVATION The room was incredibly tiny It was dirty

You could not enjoy the small balcony due to the incredible smell of weed in the air The bathtub was not only a falling hazard, but it was moldy The drain would clog up, filling the tub with water Ants were EVERYWHERE in the kitchen The pillows were so flat you’d need about 4 to sleep comfortably The mattress was so uncomfortable that now my back won’t stop hurting The “blinds” were missing so many panels that they were worthless, so the sun woke us up every single morning DO NOT STAY HERE

Beth W

This place is a dump!!! Used to own a unit here So glad I got rid of it Filthy, smelly, unprofessional staff

Housekeeping is non existent unless you call two dirty barefoot guys “cleaners” The unit was never ready by check- in and then hurriedly “cleaned” Broken everything Moldy everything Unless the rent is $500 per day, you’ll be better off camping in a tent

Hila Holcomb (Hila)

Please Read before staying:I give this a 1 star because of the viewThe beds are terrible to try to sleep in The sofa bed was nothing but springs, had to go buy an air mattress, no help from the office personnel

The staff must never sweep under things, found items that I know was not mine Mold every where Chipping paint, cracked ceilings The Jacuzzi didn’t work in any of the rooms The bathtub/ non-working Jacuzzi was so high us shirt legged people with back problems, suffered tremendously The furniture was broken upon our arrival Was supposed to be a non smoking place but while in the pool you could see people out on the balconies smoking and not always just cigarettesJim, the maintenance man was the friendliest staff there The others acted like we were a bother to themI have pictures to back all if this up but site would not allow me to postRooms are supposed to be big enough for 4 but only 2 could be comfortableThis was not the relaxing 2 week vacation I had needed

First time staying at the Bungalows in Treasure Island It’s a nice place Clean nice heated pool and walking distance to the ocean

The fall back is if you are planning on sleeping especially on the weekend this is not the place There was a couple of families and then their friends came over and they partied all day and night Way pass 3 in morning Had to go home for sleep That happened 2 nights in a roll And for the money you pay you should have some piece when your on vacation Not here

Shelley Harty

We stayed at the Bungalow years ago It was much better at that time This time we had some issues

In our unit, there was no electrical outlet in the bathroom I could not find a mirror near an electrical outlet so I could not blow dry my hair Our grandson walked around on the floors with bare feet and soles of his feet were black from the floors Our bathroom sink filled up with water because it drained so slow Almost all the TV controllers had issues We had to unplug the main room TV to get it to turn off The outdoor chairs were coming apart so we had to be careful it didn’t collapse on usOur sons also rented 2 other units and in one bedroom, the fan was missing a blade Our other son in his unit, found three large dead roaches He turned on the dishwasher and it made the place smell horrific The disposal didn’t work so the sink backed up We paid a cleaning fee plus the unit rental fee so we did expect everything to work and floors to be clean On the positive, the linens and rest seemed to be clean The pool was nice and beach location was good We would consider coming back if we find out these issues were resolved

Tesa Martin

Advertised as a home away from home, it is ! We are a family of four plus the dog and had an espectacular time at The Bungalows last weekend The place is well kept, has a swimming pool, is located right across the street from Treasure Island Beach and walking distance from Johns Pass Our room was awesome, 2 queen beds, great ac, great well equipped kitchen, awesome bathroom and the best part is that it has its own porch where we had drinks until late at night without bothering anybody

We will definitely return here Piece of advise is keep an eye on ac filters since they tend to get dirtier y sea side and make sure to check all spaces since we found a dog bone under the sofa that belonged to someone else
