Had I known that this hotel makes you sign a waive on checkin that limits your lobby use after 10pm I wouldn’t have booked Here for a relaxing weekend with family that we haven’t seen in years and you close down the public lobby at 10pm like this is some sort of kindergarten It’s a shame that you must have had guests to rowdy to cause this rule, but as a paying guest I want to be able to enjoy the lobby area on my terms

Don’t stay here, staff is rude

Vincent Shenko

If I was writing this review 2 1/2 years ago (before the pandemic), I would have given the hotel 5 stars Now, I only give it three stars This is because when I was there last month, the pool was closed, the staff did a terrible job with getting the younger siblings of children on a travel team to be quiet while having a pizza party downstairs, and the selection at the breakfast buffet is still not back to what it was pre-pandemic

While at it, if you have young children (younger than the ones having the pizza party downstairs), then don’t come here because even the non-handicapped room I was in no longer had a bathtub Despite my bad experience, I’m not giving 1 or 2 stars because the rooms were clean, smelled fine, and had no bed bugs or roaches I also believe that if they can get more desk staff, reopen the pool, and bring back the pre-pandemic breakfast buffet, then it can return to 5 stars

This is a no-frills hotel and the price reflects it Just what I needed when traveling through the area, but it would be great for multiple nightsThe kitchen was well stocked and the room was very clean

One minor ding as I reserved a room with two beds and got a single Not a big deal for my family but could have been inconvenient for someone with older kids

Anne

Pros: Rooms have a nice layout with full sized refrigerators and stove tops There are beautiul views of the valley on one side of the hotel There is a nice little store by the lobby to buy food, snacks and other necessities

Cons: The furniture was truly dilapidated Room cleanliness varies greatly Huge potholes in the parking lot and driveway If you are forced to take the smoking section the smell is horrendous

Dan Lopez

Reasonably priced but, very sub par Reason for even one star is because is a quiet stay The bed was way to soft and unsupportive in our King room

Desk staff said bed mattresses were brand new and all rooms had the same mattress Was clean but bath towels had holes in it and coffee maker carafe did not fit Front desk staff not terribly friendly, reluctant to replace towels and could not locate correct carafe Worst Candlewood I’ve ever stayed in!

My wife and I really, really, enjoyed our stay here Angela is an outstanding host Everything here is warm and inviting

The decor is beautiful and all of it fits the house well Breakfast was wonderful and very filling If you have time ask Angela for a little history on the house and the area We will definitely be back Thanks also to Michelle for stepping in while Angela was out She is a pleasure to talk with as well Thanks again for a great weekend

Monica Gunter

I called this B&B three times No one answers the phone The first time I left a message asking if they had reservations left for the weekend and I had a few questions

The lady called me right back After my questions were answered I needed to talk with husband I called back a few minutes later to make reservations and noticed the phone number was a different town No one answered the phone again so I left a message asking if she were in Jim Thorpe or how far from there In the meantime I did more research and found my answer However, I never received a call back I tried a third time calling and still no one answered I have never received a call back Customer service at this point is a zero

Michele Ann

Had an amazing get together with friends and family at Emily’s Angela and her staff went over and beyond to accommodate and make our night even more spectacular than we ever could have imaginedthe food was fresh and top notch

The grounds are absolutely breathtaking and unless you see it in person photos does not do it justice Emily’s is truly a hidden gem that needs to be discovered by everyone It will keep you coming back year after year

Had a great expectation as I was driving from Canada and needed a good place to sleep and rest The first shocker was parking, have to park opposite to the building and walk up with the luggage with run down steps The lady at the reception was warm and courteous

The building definitely need some serious repairs and maintenance Had room on the first floor The rooms was OK and the bed was comfortable but the wasroom was a sticker with taps and sinks needing repairs The TV never workedThe supposed breakfast next day was damn squib Will never visit or recommend

Taylor Salyers

I travel a lot for business and was satisfied with the quality for the price I paid All members of the staff were very nice and one even checked my room to ensure it was ready to go before I headed upstairs It was quiet and my room was clean with no stains or anything on the bed

A lot of the reviews are people complaining about the parking situation It is literally a parking lot less than 10 steps away from the hotel and it is free to park in – really not a big deal here I will say if you have/are traveling with someone who has a disability, it would be difficult to get inside If not, it is legit 10 steps

Sara Carney

The good – lady at front desk was very nice, bed was very comfortable and room smelled like it was just cleaned Water pressure was pretty goodThe bad – this hotel is very easy to miss

It sits in between 2 buildings and it’s not very well marked There’s no place to pull up front to unload your luggage You have to park down on the street and carry your stuff up steps just to get in to the front desk If you’re in a wheelchair, you’ll never be able to get in here We were kept up by screaming kids and adults till 2AM (I know that’s not the hotel’s fault The dryer in the laundry room was broken Place definitely is run down Needs some money sunk into it

Highly recommend! Janine was excellent to work with! We used Comfort Inn & Suites for our guests at our wedding @ Catalpa Grove I think the hotel was booked with most of our guests! We received excellent feedback from our guests…clean, friendly staff, great breakfast, super comfortable beds, nice rooms! We are so happy it was a great experience on our wedding weekend! Thanks Janine & Staff!! 😊

This place has real easy acces to I-81 We actually stayed here twice overnight on our trip It was priced a little higher than the other Comfort Inns we stayed at but it was a bit more upscale too

We liked the free breakfast they offered to guests and the rooms were pretty quiet even though this is located very close to the highway The staff was friendly and helpful

Hannah Godshall

I’m disappointed in writing this review for a place where I was excited about having our guests stay for our weddingI called the Comfort Inn to book a hotel block a couple of months ago for my July 2023 wedding, the girl at the front desk took the necessary information and told me that the GM would contact me soon to reserve the roomsFast forward to this month and we are about a year out from our wedding

We visited our venue and my mother-in-law decided to go to this hotel to get more information on the hotel block The people at the front desk again gave her the information and said that the GM would be in contact with her soon My mother-in-law called this week to contact the GM and was told that the hotel is booked out for weddings until 2024 and that the GM would be in contact with her soon I decided to call last night to double-check if what information she was given was true Turns out that a golf outing had booked all but seven rooms for that weekend Also, the girl who took the call was surprised that the GM hadn’t contacted me despite there still being a note from my call a couple of months priorExtremely disappointed

I can’t say enough good things about Allyson and her amazing B&B I only stayed for one night while in town for work but I’ll definitely be back if given the chance Great room, so cozy, many surprise amenities, super clean, free and easy parking, just perfect

I was able to walk to some great spots for dinner/lunch as the location is near many quality restaurants Breakfast was phenomenal and Allyson was quick to accommodate my early morning start So very appreciated!

Rachele Brown

This was a great B&B, so cute and quaint We stayed in their largest room (The Maids Suite) to accommodate our family of 4, which was on the top floor It was spacious and comfortable

The made to order breakfast Allyson made us in the morning was delicious! We were only there for one night and got to do a tour of Yuengling brewery which was very cool! We would definitely come back and stay here longer – and you can’t beat the affordable nightly rate!

Amy Walsh

I chose wisely! This location was perfect and near where I had business The room was lovely and had high quality fixtures, thick towels, little extras that show care Allyson is a wonderful host and owner

Breakfast had many options and the food was very fresh and the service was welcome in this self service world of ours I am telling anyone visiting the area that this is the place to stay!

Walking into the hotel front lobby, it smelled and looked clean That continued up to my room and it made it a great start to my tripMy stay was in room 229, the 2 bedroom suite which included a full kitchen

Everything worked as expected and the room was well maintained with the required upkeep of maintenance with the walls, plumbing, electric, floors and furniture Once again very clean and tidyStaff were very friendly and were always visible The indoor pool was clean and well kept The kids loved it! The offered breakfast wasa superior option than going out to eat Scrambled eggs, sausage, breakfast sandwiches, selection of cereals, oatmeal, yogurts, fruit, waffles amongst other choices Coffee station and juice station was greatI would certainly stay here again! I may likely book again next year to just to get away for a few days and enjoy the great breakfast and Jim Thorpe about 25 minutes awayWe had a dog on the trip, so it was great that it was a pet friendly facility

Dani

This hotel is the cleanest I’ve stayed in the last 6 months, and I average 18-20 nights per month in hotels due to workStaff- Very very pleasant and provided excellent customer service throughout my stay I’m sorry I didn’t get the young lady with short brown hairs name that works the front, but she went above and beyond to always make sure I had everything I needed

Housekeeping was also amazing Unlike other hotels (since covid) they offer regular housekeeping a few days per week which worked well for my extended stayNice size pool and hot tub!Laundry room with plenty of washers and dryersI definitely will choose this location for all my future stays when in the area

Ted Nelson

The room was clean and the hotel interior had been recently updated The hot breakfast included scrambled eggs and kielbasa along with typical continental breakfast itemsThe mattress was too soft for my preference and the sofa was painfully uncomfortable

We booked the room 21 days in advance for 1 night at a rate of $237 I called the hotel a few days prior and asked to extend my stay and arrive one day early The additional day was $376 What they didn’t advise was that they would not honor my current rate for the previously booked nightFurther, the max rate posted of the back of the door stated $309I spoke with the Assistant General Manager about both points They were unhelpful to say the leastThe room served its purpose, but I will not stay here on future trips

I loved this place We got a king size room and it was huge Bed was comfortable, water pressure was decent

Breakfast was good if you like a variety Omelets were a little different You’d love them if you like a little spice I smoke and the smoking section is 2 chairs just outside of the carport pull-through There are tables with chairs on either side of the entrance I actually talked with manager and she said it’s fine as long as I clean up after myself Which I was doing anyway Bre is awesome She really dealt well with my husband’s absurd fetish for a heated pool The air was hot, pool was freezing Said 74 but felt like Gloucester water Apparently they’re fixing it today Even still, 2 thumbs up 👍

Michelle Beall

Clean room, great location, very friendly manager but

no hot tub and no hot breakfast Just muffins Cereal, and some microwave pastries No near by places for a hot breakfast or stores If they fix the hot tub & get some microwave eggs, sausage, bacon, or something that’s not dry for breakfast then the hotel would get 5 stars

Abcdef Abcd

Staff are rude and talk bad about guests after they leave the presence of the staff Management are prejudiced against people with learning disabilities Explained that I have a bad memory and forget things a lot and need help with that

They claimed they would work with me but I guess just because I forgot a few things that caused them to give a free night to a guest Management is terrible They like to talk about employees behind their back They’re nice at first them they show you their true colors Don’t work here if you can avoid it

We didn’t stay at the lodge but we did visit it to check in and a few times to get towels (since we stayed at a private home on the property) The views from the lodge are amazing and the lobby is beautiful Our only complaint is about the front desk staff

Of the 3 times we visited the front desk – twice we had very poor service The concierge person was rude and obnoxious and really turned us off from wanting to return

Lovely place to stay, we stayed here for 1 night during our long haul from Florida to NY The free breakfast was an added bonus and very much appreciated the morning after before we continued our journey northWe had a cat with us and it was important that they are pet friendly

Our cat actually got stuck (at least we though) under the passenger car seat during the drive, the staff were very helpful and assisted by providing a ratchet wrench and sockets to help loosen the car seat Turned out our cat was just being stubborn and didn’t want to come out Had us worried for quite a while but managed to free him thanks to the helpful staff

Ian Brockhouse

Everything seemed fine until we got to our room, the toilet was COVERED in feces I called the front desk immediately and apparently sending someone to clean as “soon as you can” means you will be sitting and waiting Then they said they cant do anything to discount me after that debacle because I booked through a 3rd party website

How is this in any way worth the money staying here????

Abigail Manganiello

My partner and I stayed here for a night, and if it wasn’t an emergency situation that we were there, we probably would have left to find somewhere else The hotel room was very obviously smoked in – it smelled awful It was also so humid in the room, even running the humidifier that was provided all through the night was not enough to alleviate that

The shower floor was so dirty, there was mold in the grout of the shower, the bedsheets were not clean and looked like they had not been changed recently The towels in the bathroom looked used and dirty as well There were dirty clothes left in the room as well I would not recommend staying here The only positive was the breakfast that was provided in the cafe
