Evan was helpful at check-in, he helped my my husband find us a room close to the exits and with double double beds just like we asked He also pointed out local places that were good to do business with The room was clean and comfy

The kids were happy with the pool and breakfast, and the cartoon channel! Check-out was quick and easy and everyone was very nice I liked the breakfast, so much to choose from Would stay here again!!

Do not recommend This place may have been nice at one point, but hasn’t been updated since Wallpaper peeling in the room

Toilet hardly flushed Had to wait for hot water one morning Elevators are sketch and slow Ice makers broke and honestly super gross looking Multiple other families we were with had to get moved to another room It was not good at all We did get hooked up with conference room for our hockey team and the kids were able to run around which was nice Only reason I gave 2 stars

Erika Mennerick, DC, Cert. MDT

This hotel is falling apart The front desk staff was pleasant and doing their best to accommodate, but behind the scenes there seems to be a lot of issues- heating/air were problematic both in the conference rooms as well as the guest room In the guest rooms there were stains on the carpet, peeling and water damaged walls, room phone didn’t work to call the front desk

The bed was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was clean and operational It’s okay for a night or two as a place to sleep, but I wouldn’t want to spend any extra time hereThis place needs a major overhaul

Belinda Thompson

We were here for an Elks meeting So this wasn’t our first time there But this was the first time the elevators didn’t break!!!! The beds are nice and the heating with it being -12 outside kept the room nice and warm

The hot water in our room on the 9th floor could have been better Last 2 years we’ve been told they were going to be remodeling But we didn’t see anything different or anything new I had a hamburger in the bar that was really good It tasted like it was cooked outside on a grill The white sauce they had over the fries had no taste The people that worked there were all nice and helpful as always

Nice clean hotel Staff very friendly Rooms very comfy

It would have been nice, however, to know there was zero room service Stayed three nice It would have been nice to have had someone come in at least once to freshen the room up a little and supply more coffee, towels, and toilet paper It was a little annoying having to go request things

wes harbison

What a terrible experience while attending a function there last night Checked in online the night before and arrived an hour before the room was to be ready Apparently they hosted a huge conference of young kids the night before and not one room had been cleaned

Our event was pushed back Food served was sitting around and was awful The employees tried their hardest at the front counter I feel bad for them Shame on the hotel management! They had to give out dirty rooms just so guests could change into formal wear People were still trying to get rooms late into the evening

Zahra Ali

Came here for a student council convention and was highly impressedThe beds were very comfy and the room was very cleanThe hotel itself is huge

Breakfast was on the higher end and was delicious Overall nice hotel

My husband stayed here three weeks as we transitioned to our move to Springfield and it was an excellent experience The coordinator I worked with was extremely friendly and helpful in organizing everything My husband had a comfortable and easy stay during his three weeks

I came in with our dog for three days as we waited for our rental to open, and we had such an easy time with bringing our dog The staff was so nice and there was a dedicated pet area for us to walk him The breakfast options each day were fresh and varied, the suite room was spacious and comfortable, and my husband was able to get laundry service during his three weeks We had some stress trying to find housing and making the transition to Springfield, but the Residence Inn made it much easier It was a wonderful spot for my husband to camp out for a few weeks while we waited for our rental and the three of us enjoyed our stay very much Thank you so much for helping our move be less stressful

I sincerely appreciated the warm welcome shown here The staff were very hospitable, and the room was extremely cozy and comfortable I really appreciated the soft cushy pillows as most hotels have very hard ones

The sheets were very soft and comfortable, and made for a very restful night The breakfast had some very delicious choices, and I greatly appreciated the western omelets in particular Thank you for an amazing experience and pleasant restI hope to come back someday!

Emily Hagstrom

It may be outdated, but by it is by far the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed at in a long time The staff was phenomenal, and always smiling and ready to help in any way! The pool was awesome, and they even had life jackets available for little ones The breakfast was great, with way more options than any other hotel I’ve stayed at in the last 2 years

The breakfast stayed open until 10, and when my little one wanted a little more food they let him in even though it was a few minutes after 10 It just really felt like they cared about how every customers stay was Corporate should definitely choose this spot to get updated, because it’s the best hotel around!!

Maureen VanBrooker

We stayed two nights We called ahead before booking our stay, to see if the indoor pool was up and running, which it was That was our main reason for our weekend getaway, to go swimming

Our King Suite, was very clean Everything was in great condition We had the pool all to ourselves and the hot breakfast was super fresh both days of our stay Comfy bed, the air conditioner/heater was set on the perfect temp We watched the Super Bowl on a good sized tv It was a very cozy atmosphere Employees were friendly Good location Accessible entrance and elevator

I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Springfield We stayed in the Lavender Room, which is a lovely suite in the back of the hotel We had a private entrance into a small sitting room, a 4 poster bed, and 2 bathrooms – one a standard full bath, and the other with a huge jacuzzi tub

All of this was a steal for the price, and everything was extremely clean and well taken care of for a historic house On top of that, we got late night cookies and had a delicious breakfast of french toast the next morning All of the staff we talked to were extremely friendly and welcoming as well It really felt like a home away from home

Laura Alexander

Such a wonderful, charming place The staff are amazing and breakfast is delicious (& made fresh just for you)! We spent the weekend in one of their spacious suites bc our daughter was getting married and having her reception in their beautiful ballroom (that was a 5-star experience as well) The bridal party used our suite to get ready that morning and it was perfect! The photographer (amazing Jill Gum), was able to find so many neat places to set up some great shots

We were treated so well the entire weekend (& even had fresh cookies brought to the room each day) We highly recommend We had an absolutely enchanting weekend!!!

JKR Photography

Such an amazing place and experience Morgan was friendly and quite helpful Megan was just wonderful

From the tour, chats, and cookies she baked up every night for the rooms this was a touch that put this place over the top The rooms were all nice and the charm of the decor added a romantic element to everything If you are in Springfield this is the only place to stay The cheese and wine in the evening was great (would have loved to have seen a Moscato) and Gail the morning chef make amazing breakfasts in the morning This will definitely be the only place I stay in Springfield when visiting

Simplyjamazing

The hotel wasn’t bad Was a little concerned because my friend had called in advance to get two rooms next to each other since her dad was coming with us but the person who helped us didn’t understand what we were saying and instead gave us one room on one floor and the other room on a different floor Hotel bathroom also had half of the toilet paper roll gone and almost empty

Overall not a bad place, but I feel like customer service and communication about rooms could have been better

Heidi Christlieb

Seemed like a nice enough place at a reasonable rate until they falsely accused me (non-smoker btw) of smoking in the room and tried to hit me with a $200 cleaning charge Thankfully, I was able to talk to Radisson and my credit card to get the charge removed The hotel manager was no help at all

Just be aware because I learned the hard way

Gary Shepard

For several years this has been our go to place in Springfield However this time we were disappointed on several fronts Rates were much higher, they wouldn’t honor their room rate we found online, they told us we had to book online to get the rate

Once in the room we found that the showerhead wasn’t good and the shower curtain was hanging by a thread Front desk person said they would put in a repair order but said there was no idea when they would be fixed

I loved the fact that they had a room with 3 queen beds and a pullout couch! My family of 5 really appreciated having our own beds since we can’t have separate rooms The beds were comfy and sheets were nice Clean towels, not itchy

Outdated as far as carpet and furniture and things like that, but that doesn’t matter as much to me The breakfast was disgusting Eggs still frozen in the middle, pancakes chewy, and coffee creamer was so old when we opened it, it was rotten with mold and solid green chunks One of the window units was really loud and needs fixed The pull out couch was broken beyond repair and the mattress cover in it was bloodstained (could easily be replaced) Pool was great!Update: Thanks for the reply, Best Western I would encourage you to go back and look again at the pullout mattress (not the cushions) It clearly had a big stain on it to the point that my 7 year old daughter didn’t want to sleep on it Room 209 Thanks!

Gina

The room is fine, very clean and tidy I have no qualms with the serviceMy issue is the AC is extremely loud and it sounds like someone is aggressively moving furniture every few minutes

Absolutely cannot sleep here unfortunately, which is the whole point of a hotel If you stay here, bring ear plugs, that’s my only adviceReview edit: apparently the gutter is falling off and that’s the grinding? Anyway the front desk man offered to let us move rooms hopefully that helps thingsEdit 2: new room, can’t hear the grinding noise, but the AC is still very very loud So No sleep tonight Shout out to the front desk guy he was nice Also, the bed in room 218 might be broken? Every time you turn on it, it makes a loud groaning noise

This hotel offers an excellent stay within a reasonable price Location wise great as it is very close to Lincoln’s home museum and the Illinois state capitol building The hotel stay comes with free breakfast with great menu and service

I stayed there for a night with my 5 year old toddler son to visit Lincoln’s home museum during his spring break The overall place is very clean, will stay again if I have to visit Springfield, IL

We will definitely be back

Warning: TONS OF BED BUGS!Overall, the hotel staff that I encountered were nice I left around 1 am because I woke up covered in bed bugs though They had all stages of them

I had to find a 24 hr laundromat to put all of my stuff in before finding a new booking elsewhere (because I refuse to be in inconsiderate enough to bring pests to someone else)They front desk lady couldn’t offer me a refund without her manager present, which is understandable After having hotelscom speak on my behalf after my departure, I was not granted my refundRooms are updated and space is overall pretty There is signage of having vending machines in the elevators, but these are not present I had to drive down the road to buy a bottle of water

Reinel Perez

The room was not done, the linen was dirty We asked for the linen to be change but they said that there was no housekeeping so we to do it yourself We had no issue with that but we kept getting the wrong size linen and dirty

There was no towels or toiletries So we were moved to a different room, in which had the same issue, but we were there so we just stayed there was limited housekeeping we were told, so if we needed the room cleaned we had to let them know head of time The amenities that were shown on their website was none, no pool bar, restaurant Very disappoint

We love Marriott properties This hotel is super nice and excellent in terms of cleanliness, comfort and service! It is new, beautiful, clean, and comfy The staff was excellent

especially the manager Everyone was extremely professional and went above and beyond The breakfast was very plentiful with lots of choices and an efficient worker constantly refilling all of the stations with fresh hot options, even five minutes before closing time because of people arriving late Highly recommend!

Sarah Aylward

I booked my stay last minute on a road trip and was pleasantly surprised The concierge as kind enough to move me to a second room when I realized the first had an adjoining door, which I didn’t love He also dropped off fresh supplies to the new room, suggested a local restaurant I could order delivery from given that I was very tired

He truly went above and beyond, I would, however, recommend Marriott start staffing more than one concierge at the front desk as I could tell he was managing a lot and it felt safer for everyone The rooms are really well done — designed for both form and function — and there was a generous closet and really nice bathroom The bathroom has a modern sliding barn door, in case that matters to anyone, but for me, it was perfect I’ll be booking again soon!

Brad Neilly

The property is new; opening in 2020 Very clean rooms and common areas We stayed for three days and were impressed with how attentive the staff was during the morning breakfast

They were very friendly and had a notable pride in the work they did to keep the area clean, attractive, and ready for the next guests Great job Springhill Suites Springfield!

I honestly don’t even know where to begin as I write this review I don’t want to endlessly bash the place I will start with the positives: the breakfast wasn’t terrible and it was quiet

The staff were friendly and helpfulNow on to the bad The rooms were dirty The remotes and lights didn’t all work There was construction so you had to go outside in the cold to get to the poolProperty, especially the rooms are in need of renovations I wouldn’t stay again until it was renovated

Christine Robinson

Our house caught on fire and our insurance company placed us in this hotel The afternoon and evening staff were amazing! However, because of the general manager at the Springfield, Il location, I would not recommend this hotel We had several run ins with him and none were pleasant

When we used the laundry facility two of the four washers did not work correctly One of the dryers ran but did not dry and the other dryer I could not get to work I told the general manager about the issues, these issues were not all at one time, he told me he couldn’t do anything about them because upper management didn’t want to replace them After we were there for a month, my husbands truck broke down so he had to fix his truck in the parking lot While my husband was fixing his truck he found more broken pieces so he had to order them It sat in the parking lot for 4 days when the general manager called to have the truck towed He did not give us any warning My husband came “home” and his truck was gone My husband confronted the general manager and he said that the truck was an eye sore and cost him 100000 personally We were there another three weeks before we found another place to stay while our home was being fixed

Deonka Whitley

This hotel is negligent in their staff selection My room was robbed by a house keeper and Managment is not on site I was told I had 2 wait til in the morning

My employer is paying for this stay and due to the staff, I may be homeless I do not recommend this location until they upgrade the security features inside the hotel They do not have cameras in the halls or anything I will be contacting a lawyer This is very unacceptable for this to happen when people are paying good money to have a comfortable place to sleep until such time There is no way that anything regardless of the item, to come up missing from a place of business and the guest has to wait 24 hours for a resolution This to my temporary residence and I have been violated in the worst way I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

So

It was an okay hotel It isn’t awful, but you should know the pool is tiny And when we were there the hot tub was broken There was a review that even said that this hot tub was broken 2 months ago My husband is a war vet with tons of back pain so I went out of my way to book a room with a tub I guess they don’t have anyone who fixes hot tubs in Springfield Illinois They should stop advertising that they have a hot tub at this point The place isn’t super clean Again, it’s okay

Lynette Lewis

My husband and I had our wedding reception here in April 2019 The lobby seating areas looked very nice and cozy, and the rooms for our reception looked nice The coordinator was knowledgeable and accommodating regarding our wishes for the reception decor, packages offered, and our food choices

During the food tasting, our choices were absolutely delicious The day of our wedding, we found the hotel had rented one of the rooms for our reception to another company – which closed off the original entrance to our reception, causing our guest and wedding party to enter next to the kitchen, that had hotel personnel running in and out, and making a racket This new entrance also cut off access to a photo booth, and children’s activities that our guest never saw Our meal, to our embarrassment, neither looked or tasted ANYTHING like it did at the tasting(some of the guest were even missing food items), and our honeymoon suite wasn’t the one we picked out We didn’t want our day soured by going off, so we simply counted our losses and learned a lesson I wish we would have went with our first, but more expensive choice for our reception We found out the hard way that you get what you pay for😓

We got there and we didn’t receive adjoining rooms and the 3rd room was down the hall I was told to take my complaint to the manager the next morning at 8am We had 6 adults and 5 children so lots to take to the rooms There were no luggage carts When asked where we could get them, the clerk shrugged her shoulders and said probably up in the halls somewhere My daughter went to retrieve We got to the rooms and they were filthy I have pictures and will attach, if possible One of the TVs didn’t work My husband went to get a toothbrush downstairs and the lady said she didn’t “think” they had any and wouldn’t go look when we asked if she could The next morning I went down to speak to the manager at 9 so I wouldn’t be bothering them first thing in the morning and there wasn’t a manager there When I stated I was told there would be, once again a shoulder shrug and it was stated “Well, there’s not” We left without eating the breakfast after seeing how they clean the rooms, we weren’t comfortable with eating their food The staff was beyond horrible They were not helpful nor caring about the situation I have a son and his family that leave in the area and will not be using this hotel for our visits I am still astounding that they have are a 4 starthat’s unbelievable!

We had reserved a king size bed and had confirmation for this room Upon arrival the clerk informed us don’t have that room but she had a double queen she could give us Told her wanted it charged to different card

She said she didn’t know how to do that, would have to do it with the morning clerk The morning clerk was very helpful We found out that a clerk likes to shift rooms around if someone shows late That is why we give a card number so we will have a room when we arrive Found out it could have even been possible when we got there we would not have had a room, even though we booked it and they had our card number to hold it We have stayed here before several times and this has not happened before The breakfast was not as good as before either

Always heard how nice these hotels are Never stayed in one before Am in the area for a ball tournament

They did have a room available last minute which was a good deal Got there late after a very long day of games Exhausted none to say the least When we walked in the room we were hit by a very strong smell of cigarette smoke Too tired to make a big deal out of get another room and so on Afraid my clothes and item would smell of smoke the next day Checked out fairly early for another long day of ball Did not want to complain However I did stop to inform the front desk just so we did not get blamed for it when they did decide to acknowledge it Lady in front seemed very uncaring Did not apologize or ask any questions Shrugged her shoulders and said ok Probably won’t come back Wasn’t even the smell of smoke at that point it was the awkward and uncomfortable feeling from her

The location of this hotel and the price made it a winner for us when we booked It is very close to the Lincoln Museum and Presidential Library The rooms are clean and the breakfast was adequate

The staff wasn’t exactly warm and welcoming, but they were helpful when we asked for information about town It is an older hotel, but we see evidence of improvements and updates being made The room was a good size (we had a double queen) and the shower was hot with great water pressure I would stay here again

Had a wonderful experience a few weeks ago when I stayed Staff was very nice and always so accommodating I reserved a room and wasn’t able to make it in due to an emergency and rushing back into work and wasn’t able to call (first time) and was charged for the night (they kept my bank card on file apparently), and was not told about the charge until I happen to check my bank account online

Wasn’t very happy about this, as they do not tell you ahead of time that if you “no call/bo show” then they will charge whatever card they have saved in your profile I will be disputing this with my bank as I did not give them authorization to have that card kept on file after my stay weeks ago Aside from that, rooms are clean and staff was pleasant And centrally located

Made the reservation at 3 pm for a stay the next night My daughter passed out around 8 pm that evening and was taken to the ER I tried for 40 minutes to cancel the reservation

Finally my wife cancelled it successfully when she returned home They are only going to refund $39 of the $125 they charged my card If I could give them a zero I would for their lack of customer service and compassion This cancellation was not a frivolous decision

Check in was easy The room was of good size, but kind of dark The bed wasn’t real comfortable and the bottom sheet kept coming off

The hotel overall is okay, but two vending machines didn’t work when I tried to buy water The continental breakfast is okay My main dislike was it was loud People would yell in the hallways late at night and early morning They were working on a room across from my room which was very loud The hotel was busy Friday and Saturday, but Sunday and Monday was dead and parking lot empty, yet they wouldn’t give an extended check out time to 1 pm, after a 4 night stay Average decent hotel, but not my cup of tea

The rooms were okay Our AC was kinda funky, but the room seemed pretty clean and the staff were excellent The beds left a little to be desired, but I’m very picky

Great spot for events Every member of the staff I talked to was outstanding
