Nice hotel with huge marble staircase Good check in experience for a late night arrival Room was spacious but bathroom somewhat small

Had to go back downstairs to get makeup remover wipe as none in room Breakfast is on the second floor which is a little odd which I did not eat and there is coffee 24 hours which is fresh grind every time Nice experience and I would recommend to any traveler

Unfortunately our stay at this hotel was the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had There were 20 to 30 people having a wild wedding after party in the room next to ours I went downstairs to ask the manager on duty if he could ask them to please quiet down since it was midnight

He complied with my request and initially the crowd was cooperative but several of the guests became belligerent and told the staff that as soon as he left they were going to resume their party That is exactly what they did The noise made it impossible to sleep until almost 2 o’clock in the morning We specifically booked this hotel because we thought it was a well run facility and would enable us to get a good nights sleep We feel that spending $270 on this type of experience is ridiculous When the guests became belligerent the staff should have called the police and had them removed I asked to speak to the manager upon check out but was told none was available The gentleman at the front desk was disheveled and disinterested and offered only to leave a note for the manager I’ve yet to be contacted Upon check in they make you sign additional paperwork promising to not trash the rooms Evidently this is a recurring issue Stay away if you need a good nights sleep

This hotel is in a great location for getting into Philly, and has many restaurants around We were greeted warmly and the breakfast, although nothing special, was fine Our room was clean and well-kept

So why is my ranking low? Because this hotel is trying to pull the wool over their guests’ eyes in a completely ridiculous wayWhen I registered, I was told that I needed to electronically sign off on a $35 per night credit for any food we might take out of the (very nice) snack closet I did so, and a number of other notices, in tiny print, came up I glanced at them, but the clerk was talking to me at the same time, so I didn’t pay much attention (I know! My mistake!)We were assigned a handicap-accessible room, which was fine, although it did mean that there were only two small hooks in the bathroom, and thus no place to hang up our larger towels I thought that was too bad, as I usually would hang my towels up and save the laundry usage, but we couldn’t So we left our towels on the floor in a pileWhen we returned from our day in the city, we were surprised to see that our room hadn’t been cleaned and the towels had not been replaced When I went to the front desk to report the mistake, the desk clerk informed me, “Actually, we only clean rooms that are occupied by the same people for more than one night every four days” I replied that I hadn’t been made aware of this, and he said that it was listed on the electronic signature form I had signed When I protested that it would have been simple to just tell me when I checked in that this was the policy — like many travelers right now, I can understand that housekeeping help is hard to find, which is what he said the problem was — he said, “Yeah, the owner told us not to tell people, because then people will protest, so instead, he had us just stick it in the signature page so you don’t notice until it’s too late” Then he and the other desk clerk snickered together — yeah, got me, I guessI asked for the manager’s email address to be in touch with him, but I ultimately realized that I’d rather complain to Hotelscom (which I did, as I booked through them) and make them aware of the problem, and to let you, dear reader, know that this is the vibe of this particular hotel As I said, it’s too bad — such a weirdly underhanded thing to do in an otherwise pleasant place Anyway, that’s why they get 2 stars from me!

Pablo Picasso

Nice modern hotel conveniently located near shopping and restaurants I stayed there three nights in April 2022 Sound proofing between the rooms was good, but not in the ceilings

The people above me kept walking back and forth, constantly, until 11pm I’m not sure what they were doing but I could hear it The hotel allows pets and across the hallway there was a dog constantly barking Why bring your pet if you’re going to leave them in the hotel all day? The breakfast was all pre-packaged, heat and serve type food The hotel itself was nice and clean though

Stephanie L Ellingsworth

Rooms were smaller then I thought they would be, being a suite and all Other than that, everything was pretty goodBreakfast was amazing due to the Belgium waffle maker they had

My favorite was that with a sliced banana on top and a little whipped creamOverall it was a good experience

Tanya Williams

The rooms here are rather small They have big fridges which is nice, but there were 4 of us (one of which was a toddler) and we didn’t have much room to move around Especially when the sofa bed was pulled out

We were not impressed with the breakfast either We ended up going out to breakfast We probably will stay at Homewood next time we visit this area

I was on a business trip and to my luck was dropped off at a Marriott but 10 mins away from this one by car I had no way of getting to the hotel since I did not have a car, so I called them to inform them of what happened The lady on the phone stated she would cancel my reservation and submit for a refund and that I don’t get charged a cancellation fee

But most likely I would get a refund but get charged a cancellation fee since it was day of I had no other option since I did not have a car to get there and also I am from out of town and was only staying for one night I received an email the next day in the after noon by the general manager (Amberlyn) who stayed that since I canceled my reservation last minute and they could not resale the room they were still going to charge me for a stay Did not even ask me any background questions to try and understand why I did not make it that day Ever since that day I have emailed her and “Customer Care” numerous times and I even called to speak to a supervisor and have heard back from no one You think that since I stayed at a Marriott and I am a new member of there rewards club/group what ever its called they would accommodate me this one time Since this was my first time trying to stay at there hotel and it did not work out Your jobs are supposed to be around Customer Care and right know your not showing that at all I am not asking for anything crazy or treating anyone bad I just want a refund for a stay that I was unable to complete You’re hotel has a lot of money refunding me won’t break your bank

The hotel was swapping out all of the mattresses I appreciate the effort but it would’ve been nice to know when I booked The parking lot was a maze, full of mattresses and massive trucks cutting off whole sections and taking up tons of parking spots

One day my wife and I came home from lunch to people in our room with our door wide open We were given no warning, at no point were we asked for permission She had her wallet and personal items in the room Blatant disregard for us and our privacy 100% will never be staying here again nor will I be recommending it to anyone I’d give zero stars if that was an option

The best service! We stayed here for a week and one night we didn’t have hot water and they counted out this night for us Room service provides very good cleaning Breakfast was very delicious

Also in a room you have Dove shampoo, soap bars, lotion and my favourite green mountain coffee! Small things that make you happy The only minus for me was the bed was too soft because I have ultra firm mattress at home and my back just got use to itBut this hotel is one of the best in this area Highly recommended!

Patsy Ford

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! The room was spotless and spacious Bedding was plush and each pillowcase was embroidered with it’s identity of being firm or soft Bathroom was very well lit, perfect for doing makeup and the towels were soft

Breakfast was over the top! Ability to make your own fresh pancakes, various hot breakfast items that changed up daily, hot oatmeal, fresh fruit and hot cinnamon rolls The kitchen area was always clean and the employee servicing the area ensured immediate replacement if anything was running low If that wasn’t enough, we encountered the same two front desk attendants throughout our stay, which made it feel like you were greeted by a friend They were attentive, outgoing and friendly After checking out and flying home, I realized I left my jacket in our room I called the front desk with a promise they would investigate and return my call Within an hour they did and surprisingly had my jacket! Never once have I left something behind and had it returned I seriously can’t say enough about our experience I’m sold on Holiday Inn from here on out!

alejandro pancardo

It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in hotels I stayed in that hotel for 17 nights and literally begged for a full cleaning of my room It has an advertisement in the elevator where the housekeeper just cleans your room if you request and every 5 nights she makes a full cleaning

It is not true I literally begged for a full cleaning, change of my blankets and sheets and put my garbage out As I mentioned, I was in the hotel for 17 nights and nobody cleaned my room I wrote on the cards in capital letters for a full cleaning and they didn’t do it I had to look for one of the housekeepers to get toilet paper Unbelievable!!!! I asked for the manager and he never was there One of the people at the front desk gave me a card telling me that he just assists by email Finally, I left the room and nobody cleaned it in 17 days Close to night 17 I saw the beds were made, but Im left with the doubt on whether they really changed my blankets and sheets or just made my bed The laundry room didn’t work I tried with 3 cards (debit and credit) and I asked for assistance , one of the guys in the reception just told me “it should work, keep trying” I just took my clothes and i went to a laundry place The only good thing was the breakfast

This location is excellent There is a historic trail behind the hotel and it is located within a business park We only stayed one night and everything was wonderful

The associate KOD is the absolute best! She was attentive, polite, and informative upon arrival Her demeanor is outstanding with the guest She helped me correct my booking error She deserves a hefty raise and a bonus!

Andrew Cubberly

I walk into the room and I’m quite impressed It’s a new modern hotel room 2 TVs, no problem Then as I settle down unpack my things I look forward to going in and taking a nice hot shower

To my dismay as I let the shower run and i hop in, I come to find disappointment as the shower isn’t even warm, it’s barely room temp Never got hotter Truly disappointing And don’t even get me going on the eggs in the morning Literally made me question if I got food poisoning

Jolene Rose

The kid was swimming in the pool when someone came in and kicked us out Ridiculous when we have paid for the right to use this pool We had a room with 3 woman and we had to call not once but three times in one day to get extra towels

When the towels were finally brought to use they were left outside our door on the floor How disrespectful 😤 We went our room for the day and when we came back our room wasn’t even clean We called down to the front desk and was told by the rude front desk gentleman that you have to request that your room be clean Again Ridiculous If that is the policy why didn’t someone say that when we checked in Again we had to request more clean towels I would not stay there Rude service, unclean, not working pool, and no one did anything to help correct the situation

I cannot say enough good about this place Aside from a wonderful visit two years ago, in December I had a medical emergency while staying with them, and they made everything so easy They ensured that my partner and I had access to our former room to ensure we got everything out, and also gave us a new room to stay in

Despite the trauma of a vacation turning into a life-threatening episode, we still managed to have a really nice time outside of that incident–all because they took such good care of us That’s the kind of experience you don’t forget Anytime we come back here, we know just who to stay with

Mike Rohn

I’m not complaining just pointing out area’s that could be improved Not enough lighting in the room There’s a post directly in the view of the TV from desk

Couch isn’t comfortable Foot stool & ironing board had stains There’s only one filtered water location It’s warm water so adding unfiltered ice defeats the purpose Snacks for sale are junk food I don’t care for the breakfast but it’s free The oatmeal is mush They do have Chobani Greek yogurt The staff and manager are great, kind, helpful, courteous and respectful

Alexis Ditlow

Stay away!!!!! The absolute worst of the worst!!!! And they will steal you money!!!!!! We were accused of smoking in the room and charged and extra $350!!!!! We were taking our 10 year old nephew to a basketball tournament!!! Yes 10 YEAR OLD!!! And they accused us of smoking in the room and charged us $350!!!!!! When we called to discuss the matter and explain obviously there was NEVER any smoking in the room, they proceeded to accuse us of it again Absolutely unbelievable!!!!!!!! I literally have no words for the terrible staff and manager Alexandria except that they were the absolute worst!!!! And also extremely rude and condescending! So stay away everyone unless you want to be robbed of your hard earned money!!

The rooms are dated (if that’s important to you), but mostly my concern is carpet which was very dated and felt dirty (i didn’t get close enough to thoroughly inspect, just wear your flip flops and it’s fine) The AC and fridge were both pretty loud but just white noise so that didn’t bother us too muchFront desk people were all very nice and answered any questions we had

Pool looked clean but we didn’t get a chance to use it Breakfast room is small (i guess not everyone eats their free breakfast)Neighborhood: i mean the mall is in view which also means lots of restaurants and next door is dominoes which for us was a great option for a late dinner Not a great place to walk around since you’re surrounded by main roads but we managed a stroll and it felt pretty safe

Grace Gardner

This hotel was actually so awful I came here on a school trip and we got our room and it wasn’t cleaned since the last stay, my classmates rooms weren’t cleaned either The beds were messy and the bathroom was gross

We ended up getting new rooms and the sheets didn’t fit the bed The toilet wouldn’t flush and numerous other rooms had plumbing issues too The downstairs wasn’t being used because there was water damage in the basement There weren’t many breakfast options either The bedding was practically just sheets, it gave off creepy vibes and a 13 year old was hit on by another person staying here The only reason I’m putting 2 stars and not one is because the pool was great, and the outside was pretty cool I do NOT recommend!!!

Melanie Garbaini

Great location Outdated decor/ rooms Extremely dirty pool with no running filter and hardly any chlorine

Friendly employees Front desk does not answer the phones though Breakfast was very simple So not try the Blueberry waffle mix, it’s awful Bed was comfortable Rooms did not receive service Stains on shear curtains No dark curtains to block out lightThere are other hotels in the same area that are probably much better

Our 2-night hotel stay in December 2021 was so lovely! The staff was very attentive and our requests were met both efficiently and thoroughly On our second night, we returned to the hotel tired and cold from having been out and about all day long As we made our way toward the elevators from the lobby, we were overwhelmed by the sweet aroma of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies — they had just put out a tray for hotel guests, complete with hot apple cider!! I mean, come on

It was just such an incredibly thoughtful gesture We also used the pool and hot tub on both nights of our stay and the whole pool area was kept clean and inviting The room itself was spacious with two double beds It was quite a wonderful and memorable stay for us (two adults and a small dog) Highly recommended!!

My daughter’s wedding weekend was so enjoyable A welcome reception Friday night was wonderful Katrina helped me plan it and we had no problems at all

The room, bartender and host were all we needed to start the weekendThe bar was open after the Saturday wedding and the bar area and patio were perfect for unwindingWe arranged for a full breakfast buffet Sunday morning and again all our needs were met and we enjoyed it very muchAll the staff are friendly and professional

What a great place! I called with a last minute need to come into town for a corporate meeting and needed to bring my dogs In order to get to my meeting on time, I needed to check in early, get the dogs settled, and then head to work I spoke to Lauren and she made it easy after other local hotels turned us down

When I arrived, the general manager was working the desk himself and personally took care of me He gave me a room on the first floor, near the door, so I could easily take the dogs in and out The room was super clean and comfortable, I slept great, and was one happy customer with the way I was treated Thank you SO much!!!

Art Armani

Not a bad hotel Very clean Given staff shortages across the country they did the best they could to accommodate

The indoor pool was nice Breakfast buffet was around $15 per person and made to order omelette and eggsWould have given 5 stars but the fire alarm going of three times in the morning and lack of towels and pillows made it a 4 star experience

The owner/manager is very friendly I would recommend the suites to those considering staying in West Chester! If I could leave more than a 5 star review, I would!

The room and bathroom were very clean However, the bed (room 105) was so small for 2 people and my feet were hanging off the end I was cold, and the quilt was so thin and I couldn’t sleep because of the noise of the fridge

There was only one night stand and lamp and one outside patio chair The entrance area smelt awful, of very strong cleaning productsI would not stay here again

014kaysee

I give this place 4 stars for cleanliness, but there are no staff on the premises that can help with anything We were unable to get any clean towels, and had trouble with the television reception with no one to help fix it The room was very clean with the exception of the microwave, which had what looked to be mold growing in spots inside of it

Overall, it is a beautiful place, but they need at least one staff member on the premises to help guests when they need it

While we only just checked in, Kevin and Walter absolutely earned the 5 stars through their customer service They were accommodating, understanding, and extremely helpful and among the most pleasant staff I have ever had the pleasure of being assisted by The room is gorgeous and clean, the bed is fantastic, and it was absolutely the fantastic end we needed to what was originally a rough night!

I’m confused by all the raving reviews I didn’t find the staff to be very friendly or professional One complained about starting a shift on the elevator and the person at the front desk showed zero emotion

When we asked if the room was ready, we were told and early check in would be $50 Either the room is ready or it’s not I’ve never been told this by a hotel on arriving 2 hours early The rooms were average at best Toilet dirty, ac unit falling apart and noisy refrigerator We were told parking at the hotel lot would be $20 and were charged $25 We didn’t have enough towels and washcloths for the 3 people in the room The location is great That is all this hotel has to offer over a budget hotel And it’s 3 times the price Never again

Kathy Shoemaker

The pool is finally open! Very clean and refreshing! Nice new front desk team member, couldn’t be nicer and helpful Gave me a restaurant card got 20 percent off my meal SCORE! They accepted it at a brand new restaurant that just opened! Rooms meticulously made Very clean and enjoyable

Will no doubt come back Hopefully the restaurant and bar in the hotel will soon be open every day

So this hotel is not horrible, it truly has potential to be a great place, unfortunately you can see the wear and tear of the room that we had We had the 1 bedroom suite with kitchen and living room The couch in the living room had stains, the only bedding for pullout was a blanket and a pillow without a pillowcase

The pull out had what seemed like a mattress cover on it that doesnt get taken off (kinda gross) the bathroom shower definitely needs some attention Around the whole bottom of shower, it needs to be either replaced or at least re caulked After using the shower the bathroom floor is covered in water They only provided 2 towels in a room that fits up to 4 people The room was missing a remote, in the dishwasher there were cups, plates, and silverware from the previous guest So housekeeping never checked it and put it away The fixtures and lights need to be cleaned or replaced All of these things can easily be fixed and it would make this hotel so much better!!! It has so much potential! Now what really bothered me is not having the pool open I would understand it not being open if the gym and breakfast were closed as well! But if you have the gym and breakfast operating then open the pool! These hotels are not keeping the pools closed to help their customers they do it to help themselves Not having to put out the money to operate the pool! In my opinion it has nothing to do with keeping us safe from covid! Seriously which do you think is more likely to spread covid The gym or the pool Now which cost more to operate the gym or pool See how that works!!! Unfortunately they are not worried about giving customers the best experience and amenities for the money we pay to stay at the hotel There is no reason for the rooms to be in this state when they are saving money from keeping the pool closed! Use that money and get the rooms in better condition!!! This could be an amazing place to stay when in this area!!! Plenty of places to eat, get gas, places to shop, and only 15 mins from West Chester university!!! The potential is there, they just need to do it!!!!!!

Where to begin

I’ll just leave this I traveled 25 miles past my business endeavor to stay at a Marriott hotel Been up almost 24 hrs traveling, doing my business and just looking to relax and get a good long sleep in Go to check in get my key and get to bad after getting a late dinner delivered Set alarm and get to bed 8:00 am I awaken suddenly to banging at my door “House Keeping!! House Keeping!! I slowly get up and open the door and she’s banging on other people’s door I shut the door try to get more sleep to no avail I now hear her cleaning next door talking loudly I just get up and prepare to leave I go out the door and look around to see she has piles of towels at each door she’s cleaned already it’s only 9:15 am I voice my concerns with checkout and told she’s just trying to get done early I told the clerk that’s a bad practice and I was looking forward to sleeping in Was told sorry I just said I would get breakfast I walk to the breakfast area and looked bomb went off all food was gone, trash everywhere Nothing but yogurt and bottle of water Very disappointing stay and surprisingly at a Marriott run place Just a waste of $$ for nothing

Nice hotel I feel like “The Alloy” focused their expenses and updates on the lobby/ dining area (which to be fair is beautiful) The rooms are nice as well with newer furnishings, but don’t quite match the elegance of the main entrance

Staff was very friendly and helpfulMy room was equipped with a mini fridge (which was great) However, the bathroom did not have a fan, which led to cloudy mirrors after showering I could sometimes hear other guests through the walls (but it was not overly bothersome)Parking was manageable There are many restaurants, coffee, and grocery stores nearby You cannot hear any highway noise from inside the rooms

Beautifully remodeled hotel All the main areas, including rooms, had updated features and decor Note, that the only “outdated” area, IMO, was the bathroom – however still very nice and spacious

We received a warm cookie at check in, which we enjoyed in one of their outside seating areas, with the most comfortable couches The fully-stocked bar area had plenty of seating for drinking or collaborating with colleagues The best part was the gym It had all the needed machines and weights to have a fairly good workout They even have an area with ear phones in case you forgot your own All the machines seemed new, with TV workout interactions It’s one of the better hotels we’ve stayed on our work trip in Philly

This will be my second time coming to The Alloy, and it didn’t disappoint The staff upon check-in were amazing, beautiful, helpful, warm, and welcoming The Hotel itself, sets very elegantly on the property

The general entrance / commons, bar, and restaurant areas are so well-kept and look great The rooms are spacious, clean, updated, and comfortable I really have no complaints for The Alloy on this stay It was pleasant, and close to everything I needed to get to All major retail, and entertainment are within seconds, to a few minutes from the property I have now made this place a permanent consideration, for future leisure or business stops in the KOP area

This review is given two stars, but could have easily been 4 or 5 The good…the hotel seems very nice and is very clean Breakfast area was done nicely and pretty decent food

The bad…service, service, service Party of 3 checked in All parties on the reservation Only towels for two in the room 30 mins after call, we get another towel Next morning, we leave the hotel easily by 09:30am Come back in evening and room service has not been through So now, damp towels from before Unmade beds No coffee for room in morning Too exhausted to have crew come through, who knows how long it would take This building has a lot of potential, gotta get better management/staff

Jeana Schreiber

Beautiful fixtures and modern interior Bed was comfortableWould have given it 5 stars except a lot went wrong

1 There’s only one elevator in the building and upwards of 7 weddings in a weekend This makes it difficult for people to get to and from their rooms to the different amenities2 Door keys don’t work well One room you could get into the room using the digital key, but not the key cards The opposite was the issue in our other room3 Showers leaked all over the floor When showering the water would pool on the bathroom floor and soaked through the towels and other things4 Usually hotels give four towels for a standard room We were given three

Julia Sanders

I recently visited this location as a bridal hairstylist vendor I met my clients in one of their Bridal Suites The lovely lady at the front desk walked me to the elevators, which I thought was very personable as well as helpful to the bridal party

The room was very well lit and had more than enough space to move around comfortably I was able to find parking in the front, which made carrying my bags in very easy

Such a hidden gem, when we needed a hotel to accommodate our family for a five-month stay it satisfied all our immediate needs Nice sleep, meals, fitness and great staff The suite is like an efficiency apartment with kitchen and living room combo

They have a beautiful lobby area with a fireplace and not to mention the business center to take care of any urgent business matters

Pixie Colbert

Reply to hotel response: yes This is the correct hotel They were directing people to park in the planet fitness lot about a block or two away or to park in the slashed lined areas, including the blue handicap spots

They didn’t have any response when we said we will not park in blue slashed areas that are designated for handicap folks to have space to accommodate physical needs while getting in and out of vehicles There also was no diamond member parking which, my guess is it wouldn’t have mattered anyway Initially though, yes probably one of my favorite homewood suites yetOriginal review:Clean nice hotel Breakfast was not good, no meats at all either Not enough parking – they were telling people to park on the handicap blue lines
