very clean, staff was always helpful, room was spotless, restaurant was attached to end of hall excellent food didn’t even have to go out in the rain to eat can’t understand why it doesn’t rate as a 5 star Breakfast was very good eggs were scrambled and moist very good I would absolutely stay again when back in G

R Anyone who complains will complain about any where they stay I travel a lot and this is a great place to stay, bottom line Great job management if it was my hotel everyone would get a bonus

Beth Severns

Down the road from Craig’s Cruisers, across from shopping and food everywhere Came with kids and utilized the pool/ hot tub The pool was busy around the clock on the weekend with mostly other kids

Customer service was friendly and accommodating with each encounter Breakfast was exciting because of the waffle maker, but make sure to get in early to avoid linesKid friendly and local to everything Would book again if ever in the area

Christopher Bucher

Loved the room, very clean unlike some reviews were sayingThe pool and hot tub needed a little work, taking a star off for that – water in the pool was murky, and it is 4′ at the deepest segment The hot tubs jets were weak and too wide to be effective

Breakfast was good and included eggs and sausage patties as well as waffles, cereal, etc

My rate was nearly $400 per night For that amount of money I would expect a bare minimum of maintenance and upkeep Our room door could only be opened by turning the handle a very specific way

Front desk was aware of the maintenance issue and apologized because they “forgot to mention” this upon check inMAYBE FIX THE PROBLEM INSTEAD??The room did not have ANY soap Just moisturizer lotion and shampoo Had to call the front desk and ask No notepad in the room or pen either Simple things that you used to expect from a hotel chain are nowhere to be found here They’re happy to charge 5 star rates, but they do not deliver a 5 star stayThis review brought to you by a dissatisfied Diamond Rewards member

This was our second time staying here, and both times were fantastic The front desk employees are incredibly friendly, rooms are spacious and clean, and the pool area is fantastic (hot tub, plus a heated pool that can be accessed from both indoors and outdoors – the kids loved it) In addition to the very reasonably priced rooms, you get a full breakfast buffet, coffee 24/7, soft drinks in the evenings, and a happy hour with three FREE drinks and food every night

Super accessible to the airport and only 15 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids Highly recommend

Krystal Pryor

Great place to stay Loved the amenities and the fact that they serve breakfast and dinner; saved us a lot of money on foodThe only thing I didn’t like was the smell of the pool

To me it didn’t smell like chlorine and was really potent; almost made me gag The pool itself was clean though

Jonathon Vince

First time here and it was great Couldn’t keep driving and needed to stop Rolled in at 1AM

Guy at front desk got me a room and I was out Place is huge 6 floors Rooms are very nice and have all the normal stuff Breakfast is where it’s at Full hot breakfast Sausage, eggs, waffles, toast, cereal, danishes, ect included It is a little pricier than other places around but well worth it with the cleanliness and great food in the morning If I need to stop around here again it will most definitely be here ✌

Last minute stay for a graduation in GR Quick and easy check in My interaction with the staff was friendly even though they were all busy, it seemed

I found this hotel to be very clean Some parts of the hotel, rooms were a little outdated, but wasn’t an issue due to the cleanliness Breakfast is pretty much cereal, bread and fruit BTW – was about $150 less than other hotels in the area Close to coffee and restaurants

Christos Roustemis

Expectations were low but I was pleasantly surprised A CLEAN room for my kids and I is all I require, and this place delivered Dated? sure

A little rough around the edges? You bet Sketchy guests? Yeah, a few, but whaddya expect at 11pm on a Friday night? Would definitely sy=tay there again, worth every penny for a clean bed & hot shower the next day Breakfast was minimal but adequate and, again, CLEAN Good job guys, and finally, your service with a smile was how it went from 4 to 5 stars for me

Andrea S

Cons:Upon check in was not greeted A woman finally comes up looking annoyed that I’m there Asks for my name and all of that in an annoyed and cold manner

Never smiled once Didn’t feel welcome Maybe she was having a bad day or hates her job but jeezWore my shoes in the room because after showering my feet turned black Grime around the sink faucet Both sink and bath tub drain slowly TV wasn’t working at first so I reset the cable boxPros:Cleaning staff were nice Breakfast was standard Room was large Bed was comfortable Two TVs

Very nice rooms, comfortable and clean! They even offered the option to cast on their TV so we could use one of our streaming service to watch a movie! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because of the breakfast area and breakfast staff I have stayed here twice and both times the breakfast area has been under stocked and the breakfast staff has been less than willing to restock With that being said I would still highly recommend this hotel! All other service has been great!

Micos HairSalon

Nice clean room, clean pool, pic a little misleading as thought there was a hot tub Beds were really nice and comfy until I was woken up by heavy footsteps, not sure if they were just from the hallways or above us but my husband and kids heard the same too Hot breakfast always a plus in the mornings but the scrambled eggs were a little salty

I think if I stayed here again I’d stay on the 4th floor to avoid anyones thunderous stomping

T Sommer

I did not even check inn On 6/16/22 I went to get a room because the app was not working The guy told me they were booked, then they weren’t

All this is fine but the constant sighing and attitude made me just walk out and not pay the $150 for the room Ii went to the Holiday Inn and Suites right up the road where they know customer service Whomever the front desk clerk was, should look for a job he might be better at Your job is to literally help people, not get an attidude when everything does not go right Way to high of a price to have people like that working there

Great location, although the shared driveway with the oil change/car wash business next door needs some love That pothole could swallow a car!The hotel itself and rooms were very clean, and relatively quiet We do travel with a white noise sound machine for our son, which I think really helped with the sound as I could still hear doors and other guests in the hallway, though it didn’t disturb us

The room was pretty small in comparison to other locations with the same room type, however it was still perfectly functionalIf you’re looking for a nice, clean, hotel in a good location to both the airport, shopping, and dining, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here!

John Steed

Kids were running up and down the hallways all night They kept playing in the elevator so nobody could use it Went to the exercise room and kids playing in there unsupervised

Manager told me it happens everytime the travel hockey teams are in town My advice is don’t stay here if travel hockey is in town They must pay more for their rooms then I did Didn’t get much sleep before our flight and the managers response seemed to be sorry about your luck really disappointed in Marriott

Dody Conklin

This is a great place to stay, Matt was absolutely wonderful, extremely accommodating, Super friendly the moment you walked in the door willing to do whatever you need to make it a wonderful stay, All staff that you ran into was so extremely friendly and helpful just a cozy, warm, welcoming place! Extremely clean!!! cleanliness is huge to me and this place is extremely clean! If I could rate this higher than a five star I definitely would! Great job!!! We will be back!

Michigan Girl

You never know what you’re gonna get with hotels but this one did not disappoint! I selected this hotel after reading the reviews and I’m glad I did Great location The staff from the front desk to maintenance were so kind

The complimentary beverage station and cookies were clean and well stocked The breakfast was great Tons of selections for everyone The most important thing was this hotel was clean clean clean!!! The cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in The rooms were spotless Smelled clean The beds were comfortable The only “complaint” would be the event room by the pool was rented out and they are allowed to use the pool even though they aren’t registered guests Not trying to be a “Karen” but with 30+ people coming in and out and the pool not being overly large, it was chaotic My kids decided to leave after a little bit The arcade was a rip off but my kids were excited to see one there Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

Melissa Mack

This was such a pleasant hotel The staff was friendly at every point throughout The breakfast was unexpectedly diverse with food choices and there was lots of seating around the breakfast area

The rooms were very clean and updated The pool was warm and the hot tub was also well cared for Staff quickly brought more towels when needed and there was plenty of seating around the pool We will definitely come back again!! Keep up the amazing work and kudos to your staff!

Derek Saynor

Very clean and well appointed hotel Good complimentary buffet breakfast with nice range of hot and cold selections Excellent indoor pool with hot tub as well as a well equipped fitness room with cardio and strength training machines available along with a good business center room

Only reason for the demerit is there was no housekeeping in my room after the first night of a 2 night stay

Misty Lynn

This hotel is amazing! The GM of the hotel checked us in The process was quick and efficient, and he was super friendly and accommodating to our requestsThe Hotel staff were friendly and always greeted with a smile and a “hello”

Breakfast was good, including sausage, eggs, waffles, and I had no complaints from the kids! There was one gentleman particularly who was very helpful in the breakfast room, and had a conversation with my sonvery pleasant! He even helped him get syrup for his waffles! The room was clean and included a note from the housekeeper welcoming us Our beds were comfortable, and the room was spacious with a nice TV Access to the highway was very easy, and there were many options for dining nearbyAlthough we left our fur family at home, it is also nice to know we could have brought them with us as the hotel is pet friendly We will do so next time!Overall, if I could give this hotel a rating it would be a 10+ No complaints at all, just a relaxing few days away from home with my family with awesome accommodations! Highly recommended! We will be back!

Nicole Davis

Can’t say enough nice things about this place! We were running late and I called to be sure they wouldn’t think we were a no show on our reservation The gentleman who answered (I believe his name was Tim) made note of it, wished us safe travels and said he’d see us soon We arrived close to 1:00 a

m without stopping for dinner They had microwave meals and sodas available at the front desk, which were just what we needed at that moment Tim made sure we had utensils and napkins, asked if we actually had a pet in our pet friendly room and told us where the best spot to take our dog out was Our room was clean, pretty, quiet and comfy, with down pillows on the bed and great water pressure in the shower Our only regret was having to leave at 6:00 am (the one time in my life I was checked in and out by the same person) He wished us safe travels and made sure we had hot coffee…we were too early for breakfast We will definitely stay again and highly recommend

X Xxx

Great customer service, great looking room and very clean Only thing is the curtains don’t shut completely for privacy at our window and the heat took long to warm the room up The window not being able to close with the curtain made the room even harder to warm up because of the cold air outside coming in, which the bed was located right next to the window

Other than those things it was clean, quiet, respectful staff and very friendly and everything we needed was all already in the room Although, hot breakfast would’ve been great

Courtney

My stay at this hotel was absolutely incredible You can only access guest levels with scanning your room key inside the elevator, which I’ve never seen before and I think is a great idea Our room was wonderful

Bed was comfy with good pillows and comforter Best shower I’ve ever had in a hotel The water pressure of the shower head was incredible and there was enough hot water to take a very nice shower, which is hard to come by with staying at a hotel I felt like I was staying at a high end resort with how great this hotel was Also, this hotel is in walking distance of many restaurants including HopCat, which makes a nice evening seeing the city Checkout is at noon the next day, which makes for a relaxing morning before a long drive home I will be recommending this hotel to friends/family who are staying in Grand Rapids!

Tracy Mineard

This was the best hotel stay I’ve ever had The room and lobby are very clean The bed and pillows were so comfortable and it was one of the best nights sleep

I woke up refreshed and ready for my long drive home All the staff were very friendly and helpful I don’t have one complaint about my stay here It was amazing they are doing a great job

JL Vic

This is definitely a get what you pay for hotel The room was incredibly small but it got the job done Overall the room was okay

I didn’t love that there were spider webs in the corners of the rooms with dead spiders in them, and also the fact there was no extra roll of toilet paper The conjoining room door has about an half inch of space under it which was enough to hear our neighbors clearly as they partied the night away from midnight to 5am our first night The hotel security went up there 3 times to tell them to quiet downhow many times is enough to kick people out? Overall though, The hotel staff was great and super friendly The adjoining restaurant was great at breakfast, not so great at dinner The location of this hotel is the best part about it There are great museums and restaurants around the hotel and the zoo isnt far If you are on a budget and cant afford a hotel in center grand rapids, this one is okay and will provide you with a solid stay

Timothy Tranchilla

On the plus side, this was inexpensive and made for an easy stopover on our road trip The front desk workers (evening and morning) were professional and helpful Breakfast was cheap and mostly inedible

Room was fine for a pit stop and better than many competitors at the same price I liked that it was removed from the rest of the area as it felt quiet and safe

Michael M

The hotel was overall a great experience The staff was exceptional! Especially Zaire and Courtney The hot tub is out of order but I knew that before booking

My room was clean but needed some basic upkeep maintenance The breakfast bar was good for the price (free) but wasn’t bad The pool is small but never ran into an issue with overcrowding

Katie Jackson

I had my daughters birthday party here and I give it 3 stars because even though I didn’t enjoy our stay, the kids did Our room had stains on the carpet, the couch looked beyond outdated, there were stink bugs everywhere we killed like 10 and also killed 3 big white spiders The place really needs some updating & deep cleaning

On the bright side my daughter and her friends had a great time They really enjoyed the pool, breakfast, and the suite itself The staff was also really nice and helpful

This will be the third week that we have stayed at this hotel and it has been one of the most pleasant stays The staff are always so friendly and helpful The breakfast far exceeded our expectations, although they do run out quite quickly on the weekends

😉 The rooms and hallways are always clean and smell fresh (previous hotels we’ve stayed at have reeked of weed and cigarette smoke) The rooms are quite and the location is excellent Easy access to expressway and many restaurant options are very close/in walkable distance We will forever be customers! Thank you for making this place feel like our second home

Corrin Davis Leverton

We stayed in the queen studio suite and it was a very comfortable room to stay in! Our towels were so plush and fresh We thought the ability to swivel the TV was a nice touch to the room layout! The full sized fridge and well stocked kitchen supplies were also very helpful Check in was easy and quick! Our room was right next to the stairs and it was loud at times, it sounded like guests were running and dragging items through the stairwell

At one point in the late evening it sounded like guests were having an argument and shouting at each other in the room above – better soundproofing or a reminder to guests to not disturb their neighbors could have been nice

Vijay V

We stayed in room 314 the past weekend I highly appreciate having a pack and play (that we requested) before we got inBut, I was highly disappointed when I pulled out the sofa bed at night

The sheets were not changed from the previous guest and was filthy I couldn’t even open fully and closed it immediately I had a guest sleep on the floor for the nightI travel often for living, while traveling with family, this is completely unacceptable I expected higher standards from Marriot especially during COVID

Not a fun, the restaurant and lounge was good The rest needs mayor work Front desk staff at check in were rude and dismissive

Left waiting at airport because shuttle has a different hotel logo on it and Noone thought it was a good idea to mention thatAudio service in halls were very problematic throughout the convention Internet service kept dropping off or was completely goneBusiness center was out of order since we arrived of Wednesday even though it was part of our contractNo maid service, You need to get towels every day so you can wash up When will hotels start doing their full jobs again? If not, lower your prices

Chip Huffman

Of the 4 hotels we stayed at during our trip, this hotel ranks at the bottom and well below any of the others!! Front Desk employees while efficient, were far from customer friendly The restaurant is overpriced and mediocre at best The room was ok, but not special

The lack of bags in the trash cans was disturbing Luckily, we had several plastic grocery bags in the car to overcome this shortcoming In short, customer service does not seem to be a priority at this hotel

Olita Martin

My daughter was getting married and picked this hotel to house her guest in for that weekend Upon arriving I was greeted when it was time for me to pay it was a disaster It was a error on the merchant end

I’ve never felt so embarrassed before, I also had to call my bank I’ve never had to do that before Make a long story short I would never stay at Hilton establishment again I missed wedding rehearsal everything went bad after the check in went left my blood pressure was up I’m very upset about my check in experience I never received apology or anything My room was terrible I just didn’t want to report it cause I was so upset

I checked into what was called the Executive Suite with a Jacuzzi tonight The room was disgusting The night stand/tables CLEARLY had not been touched

There was a sticky substance with hair The tv had splatters all over it which had dried The refrigerator had a nasty film where something had spilled and was not cleaned The hot tub had hair in it Even though I reported the condition of the room when I arrived, nothing was done I tried to make the best of it but end up leaving If I can’t trust the furnishings to be clean, you think I’m sleeping in the bed??? The front desk lady called the manager because I asked for a refund She said JOANN said for the front desk person to go clean the room UNACCEPTABLE! This room was $175 and I deserved a better room than this I was denied a refund even AFTER the front desk clerk went and verified my complaints Not a happy customer and will probably not return again

Annette Etchison

This was a very nice Best Western It appears to have been recently renovated and was done tastefully It was clean and the bed was comfortable

I’m not really a fan of the functionality of the barn door bathroom door, as it doesn’t actually completely close, though it sure looked nice I just think a bathroom door should completely close while in use

Tracy Hue

We only stayed one night and fit for that need However the first front desk person could not get an extra blanket because she didn’t know where they were, but the second one knew We did not check out the breakfast because we had to leave for competition

Also, the shower leaked and the bathroom door is a barn door slider that doesn’t lock Overall not a bad stayJust an FYI the large castle looking building in the picture is not the actual hotel It’s an apartment building The hotel is smaller

They accommodate smokers with at least 3 outdoor dedicated smoking areas Pool and hot tub were clean with (small) towels provided (More details on website) Breakfast was very plentiful as it included hot and cold breakfast with many options (buffet style) I would stay again Favorite thing about the room is that the window was not screwed shut which allowed opening for fresh air

traveling for work and there was a schedule mix up so I couldn’t make it to Grand Rapids so they still charged full price for the cancellation fee Understand that for a same day cancellation they would charge a fee but one would think they would discount it Guess it is always worth while to pay a little more and go to a hotel with a no penalty cancellation policy

Weird layout to the rooms We liked the sitting area but not impressed that there isn’t a sink outside the bathroom Plumbing is INSANELY LOUD! Woke up this morning to what literally sounded like a person repeatedly smashing on our wall with a large hammer

It was from the pipes due to the people upstairs taking a shower Crazy insane loud! NOT a good way to start your day Toilet doesn’t flush properly, we need to take the lid off the tank and mess with the plunger Lock on bathroom door doesn’t work Pool area is VERY small The place is quite clean though and a very well stocked hot breakfast (coffee was very good too) Staff was very friendly and helpful

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel!!! From the moment we walked in, when we received a fabulous welcome from the desk attendant, to the time we left, with more kind words from ANOTHER desk attendant, we were so pleased with this hotel The room was beautiful, clean, nicely appointed, and comfortable I noticed others comment on noise–that was not our experience even though the hotel was fairly full with lots of children running around

The complimentary breakfast the next morning was tasty and nicely laid out, and the lounging area was great Our only disappointment was the rain that started to fall just as we walked out to enjoy the outdoor firepit Not their fault! LOL! A great stay at a nice hotel with terrific staff Two thumbs-up!!!

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful However, we asked for a quiet room away from the highway, which we did get, but they put us directly above the firepit area which was supposed to close at 10 or 11pm There was a sports team out at the firepit ALL night

We called the front desk multiple times starting at 12am to no avail It was 6/7am before the party broke up – loud music, loud talking We paid to get sleep and got no sleep
