The rooms were cozy and clean and the bed was so comfortable!! The owners Fred and Janet were so friendly and treat you like family The living room area features a gorgeous fire place, many couches, and two large breakfast tables overlooking beautiful scenery There are also large porches that provide lovely views

I cant wait for my next stay here! There is no way I will back to a hotel when I visit Fairbanks

Da-Wang Wu

We stayed in this lodge for 4 days / 3 nights, and everything has been so perfect! Super friendly, kind and helpful staff Very delicious breakfast with a wide selection of food options Beautiful and comfortable room (Deluxe Upper with 2 Queen Beds + Balcony – can see aurora from the balcony) and the common area

The wake-up call to see northern light was amazing, and it’s extremely convenient to wait for aurora inside the lodge, check the webcam and just go out to the docks whenever there’s light No additional walking was needed! We just went out to check and quickly came in to have hot cocoa or continue sleeping for most of the night Eventually, we saw northern light for consecutive three nights staying in this lodge Highly recommend!!

Sid S

Simply amazing! Great location, nice views of the aurora, caring staff and owners, delicious breakfast, and close knit feeling with other guests tooThe moment we got to the lodge, we got a very warm welcome from Roy He and Denise handle most of the day-to-day and they’re both wonderful people; always willing to go the extra mile to make the guests feel comfortable

We also met the owner Fred who was great to speak with as he shared his experiences and encounters And as a bonus, their dogs Tasha and Riley are adorable! The lodge has about 15 rooms, all under one roof and most of the guests spend time in the cozy common area with tables, armchairs, board games, and outdoor decks We met and connected with so many of the other guests there during our 3 night stay that the place started to give a very homely/familial feelYou’d wake up in the morning to fresh and delicious breakfast served, you’d interact with the other guests and discuss each others’ stories about looking at or for the lights the previous night and then you’d get on your way for outdoor activitiesThe rooms were nice and the decks offered a lovely view of the awe inducing northern lights And despite that, the lodge isn’t too far from a lot of restaurants or even the airport for that matterPS: They will also offer to knock at your door in case you’re asleep when the lights show up!

Honestly I feel that this place theme is the 80s or 90s decorations Thats the whole point, so for them to keep it together is great The wall paints and cabinets are well maintained

Very spacious place that’s convenient to everything We had no problem with internet service Laundry room is onsite that works great The only complaint is the smell of the hall way

Raj Singh

Rooms are generally ok There is stale smoke smell everywhere, in the lobby and the room The restaurant is expensive

Some of the young staff at the reception are unprofessional and don’t know the answers to most commonly asked questions The part of the town this property is in is run down They don’t offer any shuttle service into town

We had a wonderful time at this hotel It is a very modern, clean, and well kept place The rooms are very big and decorated nicely

The provided breakfast is one of the best we have had at a hotel, they even have the works for waffles, included chocolate syrup, chocolate chips, whipped cream, and more! The staff was very helpful, the pool was clean Overall it was a very nice place to stay

T H

Pretty good property Check-in was fine, nothing spectacular and Diamond Honors status wasn’t recognized or acknowledgedThe room was spacious, clean, bed was comfortable

TV channel selection was great, remote control was responsiveBreakfast w are was always clean, well stocked, and the crew pleasant and efficientWifi was reliable and fastAirport shuttle was a great feature

Emily Chen

Most of the staff are amazing and great hospitality, however the breakfast has huge room for improvement Every morning, no matter the time, there is a massive line of people waiting on food The lady in the kitchen gives attitude when people ask when the next batch of food will be ready, and she constantly looks like the guests are a nuisance

Other than that, rooms are decent and clean, front desk is nice

We’ve been here for a week at this point and greatly look forward to the rest of our stay for the next, at least, month Thomas at the front desk has been the nicest, most accommodating person I’ve met He has been here with a smiling face that has made this stressful move a lot less stressful for me

All of the front desk staff strives to provide a smile and a hello every time I walk by if they are not busy Ariel, one of the managers, always greets me as I pass her I see her working SO HARD to make sure the hotel is spotless and that guests are happy with their stay If I could give this hotel a million stars I would! I am forever grateful for how supportive and sweet this staff has been to us

G S

Excellent stay while visiting Wainwright Rooms are spacious and organized Alot of storage and shelves

Shower is okay and pressure is iffy depending if alot are using it at once My room had a good size fridge and 2 burner stove However no pans or utensils Morning breakfast was typical of holiday inn express except no pancake machine Walking distance to bowling alley and quick 2min drive to PX

E R

My stay at the Holiday Inn Express Northern Lights Inn was a memorable one mostly due to the staff From the beginning, with a phone call to ensure my reservation was good, to arriving at the inn, and just each day of the over a month there, Ms Vivian and front desk personnel, house keeping and even the cooks in the morning for the breakfast were very hospitable

A good morning, good afternoon, or a quick hello, and asking about local attractions and shops, Ms Vivian was always pleasant to stop and talk to as were the ladies and gentleman at the desk Even after multiple delays with our return flight home, and having to extend out stay, staff always received us with a smile, a quick conversation and ensured a comfortable stay

Stayed for 1 nightPros: cute little cabins along the river! They were clean and spacious The staff were very nice

Cons: full buffet breakfast is not worth the price Comparable to free continental breakfasts provided at other hotels Our cabin also had a LOT of mosquitoes inside

Minal Kamat

We were at River’s Edge for 2 nights Our cottage was next to the Chena River Lovely service and and accommodation! We were dropped/picked from the railroad/airport and our suitcases were held while we visited the Chena hot springs

Rooms are clean and neat They allowed us to take their towels to the hot springs Definitely a must visit!

This is a tough review The overall Princess experience was awesome, this place was a huge let down after 10 days of excellence Cruised up from Vancouver to Whittier, stayed at the Denali Princess lodge, everything was 5 star

This place was NOT Onsite dining is just weak staff seemed overworked, took 4 hours to get our bags They said cause we had a similar name to others so they just set our bags aside Ugh Took 3 hours to get an extra blanket The grounds aren’t very nice ( except the chefs garden) the whole area is not very nice to be honest Didn’t feel safe letting my kids wander Only walkable dining was at the hotel next door, but that was actually very decent Overall I think Princess needs to do some work here Honestly I would just sell the place and build a new resort in a little nicer area The two excursions we did in Fairbanks were great, but would skip this place or at least just spend one night

Lourdes Metcalfe

The rooms were great but the welcoming of the guests were less than adequate The other hotels had free coffee, cookies or muffins at Pikes place and made everyone feel welcomed Here, a lady asked for a cup and they gave it to her after asking

Water should be free in a cup I found it to be with no hospitality But the rooms are great!

Laura Edwards

This felt like any other hotel in the US Nothing remarkable or special That said the staff was helpful in answering questions, the patio/deck out back was beautiful and the food was decent

This section I included in multiple reviews: We were part of a Princess Cruise-Tour One component I didn’t fully understand was how you move from lodge to lodge It starts with your arrival At each lodge you get an envelope, it has your room key, important information about the lodge (including any reservations you have made for activities or dining) and luggage tags You remove your current luggage tag and place the new tag on your suitcase before putting it outside in the morning (the information envelope tells you the time it must be outside) The staff then take your luggage and transport it to the next stop You go about your day and in the evening at your next lodge the process repeats It is a seamless way of making this travel managable and fun There is no check-in line, no delay when you arrive waiting on room keys The minute you have your envelope the time is yours to relax, explore, eat, drink, socialize This was a fantastic way to vacation – like a road trip without the stress of a road trip

Very nice place at a good price The facility was clean and modern, staff were all very friendly and helpful My room was clean and the bed was comfortable

What else can I say? It was a little annoying that fox news was always on the breakfast room TV, considering that fox news has repeatedly and regularly been proven to lie and present falsified information (fake news) to influence the uninformed A more neutral news station would have been a welcome reprieve from the fox news disinformation machine

I’m a local & normally stay in Fairbanks when I decide to stay over But I decided to stay in NP this time & I was pleasantly surprised! When I pass through NP I often comment that they really should do more to decorate for visitorsWe walked up to our room (Rm 319) and outside of the door was decorated for Christmas

We entered and BAM, it was all decorated The tree was lit and the fireplace was on 🙂Turns out I had booked the Santa Claus Suite without knowing itIt was comfy, cozy & I’d stay there again for sure

I ended up booking this place due to the lack of availability of other hotels and the services they offered The rooms were okay but could have been cleaned better and used an upgrade especially with the amount of money that the hotel is charging people It was nice that the hotel had a bar and a restaurant to eat that offered a buffet

If you want breakfast from the hotel you have to pay out of pocket which ended up being really expensive for the quality of food they they serve The food ended up being dry and not seasoned You would be better if you just eat somewhere else locally

Graham Porell

My recent stay at the Westmark was fair The location is good, near downtown Fairbanks, and the room was comfortable and quiet However I am not sure it’s a good value for the price

The fact there is no airport shuttle adds to the cost and Ubers can take a while to arrive Appears some competitors have shuttle services but Westmark does notThe service was not great – the front desk staff were curt and rude and were very strict about check in time I’ve never seen a hotel which wouldn’t even offer to check to see if a room is available upon arrival – I’ve stayed at hotels all over the country and world The staff were not very helpful or friendly about storing luggage eitherThe restaurant breakfast was overpriced and was of poor quality Would recommend finding other local places for breakfast which were much betterOn the bright side, the bar staff at Red Lantern were great, friendly, and should be commended for their great service

Paul Crawford

We stayed here the first night on a Princess Cruise Tour The hotel is clean and the room was spacious The service was kind, helpful, and reasonably quick

The tour guides seemed a bit frazzled and the intro process felt rushed and a tad disorganized, but with all the people they did a good job of getting us to our room by 10:30 when they initially said 4:00 We were grateful as we needed the sleep

This place would rather have you sit in their lobby for 5 hours when they know you’ve been traveling for over 24 hours straight, than let you check in early when your room has been ready for hours even if you offer to pay extra Restaurant food and service horrible Bar is a joke

This is the one and only to time

First the place is amazing! Such charm and authentic Alaskan ambiance!Second, the staff is beyond amazing So friendly, so efficient, and so warmTiffany at the bar was so engaging and friendly spending a few hours at her bar convinced us to stay another day!And our Cabins were fabulous! We cannot say enough good about this stay!

Trevor Richards

Stayed here for a night, it was pretty solid place and very unique in the fact they have all these cool areas you can explore in the hotel Very comfortable room and bed, it was clean although decor is more outdated They said they only have a continental breakfast but it actually included pre-made chicken biscuits and sausage & egg sandwiches

pretty good when I was expecting only cereal! Overall this is a good place for the money

Ali Radziewicz

Our stay here was nothing less than perfect! The staff were all so kind and helpful It was so great to wake up and walk downstairs for a full hot breakfast! The lobby is cozy with a fire place and several intimate spots to sit with friends and enjoy their 24 hour coffee The location on the river was beautiful

We watched many sunsets from the aurora viewing room which was warm with heaters and a fireplace We checked out the theater and learned about aurora chasing The fire pit was lit every night if you wanted to sit outside And included ice cream socials every night, we always made sure to be around for that! There was so much to do we didn’t get a chance to play pool in the game room, sit in the aromatherapy sauna, or check out the gym The restaurant next door is convenient, and they even had a veggie burger for vegetarians! It’s less than 5 min from the airport, but even so there’s little light pollution We never saw the lights from the hotel because we were always out, but we heard other guests did The temperature of the main areas was always warm which is nice after coming in from freezing temperatures I would recommend this lodge to anyone and would return in a heartbeat Thank you for making our stay unforgettable!

Room is big and clean, quiet place Breakfast has more choice Staffs are very friendly and helpful

Personally, I would like to thank to the lady at front desk that helped me for my daughter forgot backpack in her room I don’t know her name but my stay was on May 19-20, 2022 Definitely, I will recommend to all my friends for next trip

M L

This hotel should be your absolute last choice The Hampton Inn across the street is light years better I can’t believe Hyatt would allow their name on the dump

Please don’t assume basic amenities such asbottled water, Kleenex tissue, microwave ovens, decent breakfast or even cable television, Yes for over 10 days now the rooms have had absolutely no television You can’t even stream using your own account Also basic cleaning service is not provided no matter how long you stay They continue to hide behind the pandemic as a reason not to offer basic cleaning service even after four or five nights Do yourself a huge favor and book any hotel in town other than this one or be prepared to be greatly disappointed
