Great place, I have never stayed at a b@b before and this was my first experience The rooms were cozy and comfortable We had a little trouble getting in the main house for Breakfast but it was only because we might have been s little late to Breakfast

The cinnamon rolls were amazing along with the rest of Breakfast I highly recommend the Katy house

Not sure I will have all the words to express how very special our stay was at the Katy House My daughter, two friends and I stayed there to celebrate her 16th birthday What a beautiful and special weekend for us! I’m thinking we should turn this into an annual birthday tradition

Tiffany truly has the gift of hospitality and the Katy House is such a wonderful place to relax and refresh We loved being within walking distance of all the great stuff in downtown Smithville Five stars and more!

Jim Fraser

My wife and I go to COTA quite often and to be up front, staying in Austin has become a big hassel, we met Tiffany the owner of the Katy House and decided to stay in Smithville and just go back and forth to the track Our cottage was Clean, Quiet, and so relaxing! The drive to the track is about 30 minutes on surface roads simple and easy with great scenery! At the end of day we couldnt wait to get back, great breakfast in the morning AWESOME! The local restaurants are also outstanding!Theo and Co

First of all, I don’t know how this place has almost a four star rating I’ve stayed at hotels that costed me the same amount of money and were much nicer We had to make a last minute trip and this was the cheapest one I could find whose reviews didn’t mention roaches

I decided to book their superior room since it was only $10 more a night and advertised a whirlpool tub When we got our room and I tried to use the jets in the tub they did not turn on Not only that but the tub looked in bad need of some refinishing and caulking I also noticed there were hairs floating around in the tub that weren’t mine so I have to wonder how well it was cleaned beforeWhen we went to check out I told the person at the front counter that the tub didn’t work and she told me I needed to turn a switch on behind the door before I used the button in the tub The person who checked us in did not tell me this and therefore I was not able to enjoy the jets that I had paid for I did not get comped or even a sorry from the person who checked us out Even if I had been able to enjoy it the cleanliness of the tub was still very questionableNot worth the money

Very impressed with this hotel and the staff We had a pleasant stay for 4 nights Their continental breakfast is the best I’ve ever seen

Not only that, all the staff were friendly and personable One morning when my associate slept in and was going to miss breakfast, Crystal was so nice she delayed breaking down the waffle makers and even heated up some extra sausage for him so he would not miss eating They were also very accommodating to little extras like giving us an extra blanket when we asked The rooms were clean and we really had no issues I’ll definitely book with Quality Inn again next time I’m visiting Bastrop

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and it was even better than I was expecting! The owners have really thought of everything The attention to detail was outstanding from personal s’mores kits and free in room snacks, to the beautifully decorated yurts and cozy bedding, to the fun yard games and hammocks outside We spent time hiking around the property along the very well marked trails, we actually enjoyed the hikes on the property more than the ones we did at the state parks

The fire pit and hot tub every night was the perfect ending to our days If you are looking for something out of the ordinary this is the perfect getaway!

Angel Franco

Mi wife, myself, and our friends and son stayed here in a yurt each They are really cool and spacious The hosts provide really awesome snacks, each yurt a little bit different than the other

They welcomed us personally and gave us a run down of the place as we arrived There are lots of trails, a pond for catch and release, and plenty of outdoor entertaining space that includes gas grills for cooking, a huge hot tub, outdoor games, and a large covered outdoor area The only down side of the yurts is the lack of any kitchen related equipment (including a microwave) However, there are lots of restaurants just 10 minutes away in Bastrop and bringing food to grill in a cooler worked out for us tooCan’t recommend this place enough Great hosts, great facilities, and lovely outdoor Will be going back again!

Rebecca Faubion

Our stay at the Reserve at Green Leaf was heavenly I am a person who LOVES forests and being among the trees, so from the moment we approached the property I was excited for what lay ahead Here little paths meandered around tall growth pine, cedars and oak

Smooth gravel-paved roads led us to a “campsite” built with luxury in mind We pulled up to a well shaded parking space and approached what felt like a little secret glen: a green grassy area, flowers growing and thriving, and a little deck with adirondack chairs Like all the yurts on the property, ours had such an authentic, in-the-woods feel, yet it was also state-of-the-art modern and perfectly appointed with furnishings, designer color schemes, and the kind of thoughtful touches only a superb host would think of! I loved all the locally sourced items such as freshly ground coffee for our morning French Press, wonderful handmade soaps to compliment the elegant shower and bath, and ample fresh, filtered drinking water (too many air b-n-b’s forget that you need something besides tap water!) My favorite moment of our stay was going on a 2-3 miles hike with my son We followed the well marked paths to such sights as Huckleberry Hill and West Wood Trail, and at one point all we could hear was the whooshing sound of a breeze as it moved through all the trees I should add that we stayed here during the first week of July, during a record heat wave in what is already a hot central Texas climate Yet, we felt cool and refreshed in our air conditioned yurt, with plenty of opportunities to get outdoors in the shade of the trees (or with the add-on amenity of the Owner’s pool, which they maintain at a fresh cool temperature) All around I just highly recommend this place!

We booked the room because the site said they had a pool, they had a pool alright but it was bone dry When we asked we were told that it had been drained and closed because someone decided to let their kids be entitled, destructive heathens Why didn’t they just call the cops and have the offenders removed instead of punishing the rest of the paying guests? I guess if you want to let your kids run amok and destroy property whole complete strangers ate forced to any for your brats behavior definitely take your kids there

I will not be back!!!!

I hate to be so direct, but in over 20 years of traveling with our RV, this is the worst RV park we have ever visited In fact I would not call it an RV park, but a weed field with a dirt road I would like to be generous as the owner was nice enough on the phone, but the following are the issues:1) There is no official name sign on the turnoff

Just a “now open” sign and the turn radius is very sharp We only found it with our GPS2) No manager was ever on property for the 3 days we were onsite3) The sites are all dirt back-in and not near level4) There are some sites with trees, but not many5) There are no picnic tables or concrete pads for tables or grills, etc6) There is no grass anywhere, just tall weeds It does not look like there has been any care taken with the property7) There are no spaces (grass or etc,) for pets We had to walk our dog in the weeds or dirt8) There is internet, but no cable or satellite We were able to get a very limited amount of channels from our antenna from Austin area9) No other amenities yet the price is equivalent to other, much nicer parksAll in all, we will never go back and we certainly could never recommend it for short or long term stays

This was a cozy and charming place to stay – I would MUCH rather stay somewhere like this than in a hotel by the Walmart ANY DAY, And the prices are very reasonable My sister and I wanted to meet up somewhere between our homes to have a sister-cation, and we loved our stay here I have driven through Bastrop a million times, but I have never explored the downtown area, as it is set back off the main highways that bypass all that, so this place was a perfect location – just a couple blocks from main street, only a 6 minute walk from the Inn

The owner was great – she gave us some good recommendations for food and drinks and activities, and she was very accommodating, letting us leaving our belongings in the house after checkout since no one else was checking in that day for the room we were using Our only disappointment was that breakfast was not included – they aren’t doing the breakfast during this time due to Covid I think Hopefully that feature will make a come-back!

Deborah Barrera

Unique Victorian home with beautiful architecture very quaint and comfortable We had access to the refrigerator for our leftovers from nearby restaurants that were too good to toss The Inn owners made you feellike family

I am giving them a 49 since Covid they are only a B instead of a B&B You will enjoy your dtsy

Absolutely wonderful spot This resort is only about 25 hours away from our home near Houston but you feel like you are so far away from everything when you’re there

The drive down the 3 mile long, curvy and hilly entrances is beautiful and really gives you a sense that you’re getting away from it all When you pull in to the entrance you can just feel that this place is just awesome Every single staff member we encountered were super friendly and nice The grounds are beautiful and there is plenty to do for everyone We love the lazy river/pool area We’ve been several times to Lost Pines and even when it was 107° degrees, the lazy river feels great Plenty of shade from lots of trees and the water is cool We’ve shot skeet, rode horses, taken nature hikes, the kids did build-a-bearthe place is amazing The restaurants are very good too There’s something for whatever you’re into and plenty of room for large groups We’ve stayed in the Governor’s Suite every time and it’s a great room Plenty of elbow space, couple of small refrigerators and a very large bathroom in the bedroom Great place all around and we highly recommend a stay!!

Lorena Abitante

It was really good overall The staff are friendly The property is gorgeous

You do feel you’ve escaped being there I think it’s over-priced at $575/ night They don’t give you a dang thing for that expense Only two bottles of water per room per day The skeet shooting and horseback and all other activities outside the pool cost extra They even charge $18/ day to self park And everything is expensive in the resort One complaint I do have is the lack of the respect to people who don’t have kids I know this is family oriented That’s great However, every night kids ran up and down the halls as late as after 11 pm and by 9 am And they allowed kids to ride scooters in the lobby At one point I’m dodging kids There’s one space where adults have to go in the whole building to have some downtime called Scribes I was told by staff that they are allowing children in there now Sunday through Thursday Just no! I needed some peace for just a bit They need to keep that an over 21 area They also need to close the doors so it’s even more relaxing Please consider that not everyone that visits has children And we deserve a downtime area Like I said, spectacular place with views of the Colorado River and wonderful lazy River Just leave adult areas for the adults Please

Benny Castro

A great vacation that really only needs some extra attention to detail to make it 5 stars and worth the priceI really enjoyed my time here The staff were all so great

Everyone was friendly and made us feel so welcomeThe room was nice Mostly updated and very comfortableMy main complaint with the hotel stay would be the lack of food/water There is no room service available, which is truly bizarre for a resort On top of that, the vending machine on our floor was broken, and the water dispenser was broken So we only had our 2 bottles of water This is something that is so easily rectified by simply having housekeepers stock the refrigerator with extra water on floors with broken machinesThe restaurants were all great The breakfast was delicious with nice variety The bar had a nice food selection tooThe Spa is included with resort stay, which is a really nice surprise There’s steam and dry saunas, jacuzzi and pool, gym and massage All very goodThe only complaint I had is the men’s shower was broken and only had cold water, which really sucks But after a sweat in the sauna you gotta do what you gotta doI really would say it’s great, and deserves 5 stars if they paid attention to the broken stuff It’s not a budget hotel, they should be on top of these minor issues that can take away so much from a guests enjoyment

We reserved a king size bed and the room was dirty Used towels and trash in the room We were given a double bed room and that had issues

Trash in the room After being told this is one of the best hotels in Bastrop I’m gonna disagreeThe room fees were non refundable If I could of gotten my money back I would of went somewhere where elsePlease do better

Shari Deghi

Very comfortable bed Spacious room Clean

Good variety for breakfast Sound proof doors/walls Daily cleaning service Very helpful staff 5 minutes from Buc-ees and able to get to Austin without tolls We stayed here and drove to Austin instead of staying in run down Austin budget hotels Only drawback is that we stayed in another room in same hotel where hand-held shower head had a huge leak that soaked the whole bathroom

Tera Anderson

I’d give this Comfort Suites zero stars if that was an optionCheck in is at 3 PM My daughter and I arrived at 4:30PM

Room was not ready We waited on the housekeeper to finish She did and we quickly unpacked some stuff for my daughter to get ready for her competition (reason we were in Bastrop) We were in the room maybe 15 minutes We arrived back at the hotel at 11PM And we notice that there’s no toilet paper, room is dirty (trash on the floor from previous guests, finger prints on mirrors, and the bath tub had to be cleaned out before my daughter could shower) and the couch is ripped in several places and absolutely disgustingly filthy I paid a very hefty fee for this room Over $320!! Definitely not worth the fee; heck, not even worth $100!I’ll choose any other lodging if back in Bastrop Never this one again

Needed a place to park my travel trailer after moving for a new job The staff was extremely accommodating when trying to get me a spot after calling at least 10 other places While the other places I called were cheaper

the little bit extra I laid for staying here was well worth it The facilities are in excellent shape and you will always see the employees around the park maintaining it and talking with residents The communication was top notch I have been here since a week after the snow and ice storm, and the park has been very good about notifying people here about things being repaired! If I needed another long term stay I would do anything to get a spot here again!

When I was looking at RV Parks for extended stay, I was searching for clean, quiet, and safe I found that here, along with owners who live on site and genuinely care about their guests The laundry room is nice and there’s a bathhouse that is cleaned regularly

Both buildings are climate controlled and that’s really nice in extreme temperaturesThere’s also propane available to buy hereSo convenient! This park is pet friendly and a great place to stay

We Stayed from July 13-17 at The Oaks Cute campground Appears that they are upgrading gradually

There seemed to be a sewage smell issue in back of the park, however, we were not staying in that part, so we only caught a hint of it while walking the dog The facilities are nice, bathhouses nice and cleanPlenty of room on the site, and site parking was plentiful as we were visiting family and there was plenty of space for parking when we had company on site There are no picnic tables on the sites, but has a really lovely picnic pavilion Normally, I would’ve given 3 stars because of the picnic table, but here’s the kickThe owners are so kind and amenable it makes it worth the stay in every way! They treated us as if we were their family from the jump Very kind! Worth the stay in every way! I will be back

Let’s see, super thin walls made it so that when the neighbors who didn’t get in until 11 (ok no biggy) let their toddler run around and scream and yell and literally bang on the walls We heard everything The desk attendant said they would handle it but apparently that means totally ignoring it and doing nothing

Was told the pool was open but it was padlocked shut and there weren’t any chairs or anything to sit on just hard concreteFridge didn’t work Coffee maker didn’t work Didn’t try the microwave but I wouldn’t have been surprised if it hadn’t workedNo idea where the ice machine was, when finally found, turns out it was small and emptiedAC barely worked And the beds which were supposed to be queens were definitely full sized bedsPay extra and go down the street to holiday inn or days inn Skip this POS

I will only stay at Holiday Inn Express! I’ve been a member since 2013 and have nothing but praise for HIE! Currently staying at Holiday Inn Express in Bastrop, TX; the staff are friendly and professional! The rooms are very clean and modern! Kimberly has been very helpful making my stay more enjoyable! Dawn the GM has gone out of the way to ensure I have a room on an extended basis! Tiffany has made the daily breakfast amazing and she’s quick to clean and resupply the breakfast line! Adrian is a hard worker keeping the premises clean and operating efficiently! Jimmy and Michael also keep it going during the nights! Excellent place, excellent people!

I will start with a WOW!I’ve stayed at more Hotels and Motels in 20 years for business than I care to count (Although this trip was for a funeral)Upon ARRIVAL, the first thing I noticed when entering is the cleanliness, and I don’t mean “Hotel clean” I’m talking about that clean even your mother would be proud of! It had that clean smell, look, and feel and not chemical smell either, JUST CLEANThe ENTRYWAY was immediately relaxing EVERYTHING was orderly and placed with a purpose

Upon entering the gentleman at the front desk was nice, friendly, and genuinely happy He welcomed us in with a smile, spoke pleasantly and politely, really seemed to enjoy what he doesSo much so, that I went out of my way twice to have him repeat his name (His name was Michael) because I wanted to let someone know that they had the right guy on the jobUpon arrival to our ROOM, the key card reader worked immediately (worth noting) because it is so rare in hotels I had a 4-month-old, a 9-year-old, and a baggage cart with me Imagine the headache had it not worked Upon entering the room immediately noticeable the room was just spotless, clean and fresh It was obvious that the bathroom was cleaned and disinfected thoroughly The beds were made perfect The sun was shining in and the A/C was at 70 degrees (Does it get better than that? lol I think not) But wait there is moreLater when looking for a RESTAURANT, I went down to the front desk for suggestions and met a lady named Yuri Her tag said Asst General Manager or something like that I never saw her without a smile We discussed restaurants in the area, the family wanted some good Mexican food Yuri suggested a restaurant in front of the Hotel (Guadalajara) Seriously the BEST food I have had in years! (Order The Top Shelf Margaritas and dessert)The ROOM had a microwave and fridge, a nice size closet and desk I must say much nicer and certainly in better condition than most hotels I’ve stayed at Also, worth noting: 1) The TEMPERATURE of the room DID NOT FLUCTUATE at all during the night; In most hotels I’m up and down all night with those ridiculous thermostats hot, cold, hot, cold 2) The bathroom was so clean it looked like it had never been used The shower area was bright and fresh (I didn’t even feel the need to wear flip flops or water shoes)The BEDS where so comfortable that my back did not hurt, and my “Other half” didn’t even complain about the pillows or the bed (a miracle in and of itself)The next morning, I went down for BREAKFAST and MORE WOW! Where do they order the food? BEST BACON EVER! After an entire plate of bacon, I had to try the cinnamon rolls which were also amazing! I do not know what this Holiday Inn Express does different but man, the family couldn’t get enough Then while having breakfast I was mentioning to some people around me about how impressed I was with EVERYTHING Amazingly several of them agreed While in conversation I noticed a lady popping in and out of a door this girl was cleaning constantly and keeping the food stocked up I asked her “what do you do different here, the food is better, everything is clean, and people smile” she said she hasn’t worked there long, but everyone seemed to really like what they do and that they take pride in their work and that seems to make the differenceBefore checking out, in the lobby visiting and after a few minutes of conversation I realized she was the General Manager She had the same demeaner as her employees She was all smiles, friendly to guest and employees alike She was General Manager Dawn Guerrero (Might be wrong on that spelling) and I want her and everyone else to know that her and her staff made a difference that day
