I went here for my first conference at work and it was a good resort The staff was friendly and I liked the quality of the rooms and manors There’s a lot to do throughout the resort and the scenery is nice

They wouldn’t allow an extended checkout passed 11, even though our conference didn’t end until after noon, so that was really my only complaint

Jeannie Meyer

We really enjoyed our stay here Reasonably priced, nice clean rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, multiple options for meals, and literally something for EVERYONE The only reason I didn’t rate it 5 Stars is it is a little dated, however, we thought it was part of the charm of this resort

No complaints at all A hidden gem for sure about 4 miles off of the highway

Billy Burdt

A bittersweet experience for sure Awesome place with friendly staff Rooms not the cleanest but suitable

We unfortunately found a mouse in our room and had to leave at 10pm on Saturday night because they couldn’t catch it and were overbooked Rather than comping our stay, we had to negotiate a deal with the staff They felt 50% off the first night and “not charging us a penalty for early checkout ” was sufficient Before that we were planning on visiting again, definitely a bummer they didn’t handle it differently

Great one night stay at Tru in Beckley We stopped while driving through and were very satisfied Extremely clean and comfortable

Beds were comfortable, sheets and bedding perfect Cool, trendy decor with hard floors which I prefer as they are cleanerNo tub, which is challenging with little ones but we made it work The toiletries provided smelled great and the tubes prevent waste Room was well stockedRoom was quiet and we had no issues with hearing highway traffic The lobby is very inviting with seating options, pool table and games The little market was nice to have as well The hot breakfast had a nice variety and tasty The kids loved the pancake machine! Would definitely stay again

Jessica Lawrence

My 15yo daughter passed away very suddenly and we had a bunch of people coming from out of town for her services We all stayed at one hotel together They were very accommodating to us

They treated us great We were all on the same floor, on the same side of the hall The hotel was beautiful as were our rooms They let us all take over the lounge last night after the service so that we could all spend time together as a group The staff was kind, helpful and sympathetic to our circumstances One of them even took a group photo If anyone is ever in Beckley and needs a place to stay, I HIGHLY recommend you stay here This was an absolutely horrible ordeal and not having to stress over accommodations for everyone from 5 different states was truly a gift that I’m very grateful for! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kathy Wirth

Clean and new Breakfast was good However I like to take a hot shower at the end of a traveling day

We’ve stayed here quite a few days already it’s the halfway point to our destination I’m very disappointed because the showers are at best lukewarm We thought we would give it another try maybe there was something wrong with the water the last time but no same thing Very disappointing we will consider staying somewhere else from now on I think we pay pretty good money to stay here and then experience lukewarm showersI would like to sing the praises of this hotel and management I am very pleased to say that management contacted me right away to understand the situation and make things right It turns out there was a problem with the hot water system for our rooms (The two rooms we had were next to each other) I really appreciated her sincere concern and “got right on it” We will continue to stay there and recommend it! Thank you!

My wife and I had an excellent stay I was able to take advantage of the outdoor pool, fitness center, and complimentary breakfast The entire facility inside and out was clean

Hyper allergenic bedding was a big win for the wife Many tasty restaurants are conveniently located Entire staff was pleasant and provided great service!! Thank you!!

Helene Gidley

Clean and spacious room, but was noisy Kept hearing mechanical noises until around midnight despite our being far from the elevatorBreakfast buffet was sufficient- eggs, sausage, waffles plus cereals and breads

Standard Hampton Inn fare but tasty nonethelessLocation terrific for ample dining access- Bob Evans right next door (and did you know they now offer wine and beer??

Michelle

It was an okay place to stay for 1 night It is a bit outdated and not super clean The carpets in the rooms and halls need to be cleaned or updated

Staff was so nice

simply awesome Location was off the beaten path which we love Beautiful set up here– the lake behind the lodge, a large deck to enjoy dinner & scenery There is also a restaurant on site The lodge is an older establishment but was extremely clean, had a nice shower & comfy beds We even had the pleasure of a very nice neighbor We would definitely stay here again 😊

Amanda Figgins

We stayed for a Beard Competition that was held on site The whole atmosphere is awesome The lodge is older but very clean

The staff is so friendly and personable There is a large deck and some benches for lake viewing a great bar and restaurant with live music some nights The location is absolutely beautiful If you have the option ask for a room on the back with a lake view We will stay here again when we go back to hike the local state park

Well

I get that the area is “Appalachian” and a bit red neck, however the rooms are very dated for a lodge “resort”High points:The staff gets an A+ very helpful, accommodating and professionalCleanliness A+ outdated but very cleanThe Pub B+ comfortable atmosphere, reasonably pricedThe food B+ the Friend Pickles are a winner! Nicely fried and seasonedThe burger was meaty, seasoned well, and juicy Great frozen friesShrimp-n-Grits hum could have had more Grits and less sauce They called them Creole Well the shrimp were cooked well but the Trinity sauce was kinda offsetting Tasted thrown together like a watered down Worcestershire sauce But I have to admit that it did work in a very unpolished wayDown fall:Out of the control of staff the rooms are very out dated Bed sheets did not stay over the plastic mattress cover The over puffy mattress with lack of bed slacks ya sit on the bed and sink to the floorBut the lack of TV service no cable but I’m cool with streaming!! However, the lack of bandwidth to watch a show will force me to grade my room quality as an F This really frustrated us!!

This our third stopover here on our trip to MI Great location staff friendly Room very clean Outstanding restaurant “Kems” I had Italian chicken vegetables pasta dinner

I would rate it as tasty and authentic as the dish I ate in Tuscany, Italy We ate several dinners and other meals there which were very tastySome dinning room revocation, but that did not stop the culinary staff in preparing their meals

Lori C.

This place is beautiful and much cleaner than a lot of other hotels in the areaThe only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the renovations that are currently going on When we called, we asked if they had a pool and they said yes, but it wasn’t until after we’d paid for the room that we were told that the pool is closed because of the renovations

That’s my only complaintEverything else about it (the customer service, the cleanliness of the rooms, the pricing, etc) was satisfactory I will go again, but I’d like to wait until the Reno is completed

Haley Cox

Super beautiful rooms Had the king suite 2 beg comfortable bed

1 large couch and television section on opposite end of our room with a door to close and lock between Beautiful big bathroom and super clean Room was super clean as well Loved it Expensive for what and where it is here in WV but can’t complain about anything Breakfast was not continental, $7 per person, big buffet Nice sit down restaurant as well Pool was super freezing to be an In door pool and the hot tub was nice

I never enjoy coming back to Beckley, however, my stay at this Marriott is always pleasant and my top choice Having stayed at all the hotels in Beckley, Lewisburg, and Charleston, this Marriott is by the best The rooms are always affordable, staff will search and apply your qualified discounts, and they are very pleasant people

The room was immaculate The breakfast was delicious (you have to try the French toast w/ strawberries) Another great experience and the only part I look forward to when I have to return

Eron Chek

Large well appointed rooms I had a king room and it was a nice surprise that there was a balconyBut the highlight of my stay here was the service from the time I called Bill was friendly on the phone, the staff serving dinner was professional timely and very nice

I will only stay here when I come to Beckley

We took a quick Easter trip to Glade Springs and had a lovely time The room was a King suite and was very clean Bathroom was updated and beautiful

You can tell they are working on this resort and for that I give kudos- there is still updating to do but compared to other spa/resort prices, the price for our room and dinners was more than extremely reasonable for a resort that is beautiful and has the quality of a bygone era Breakfast was good each morning, the Glades Grill offered delicious dinners, and the Easter buffet had fabulous food with the added touch of live music as the icing on the cake The price for the buffet was more than reasonable For comparison, we have been to top quality spa resorts in PA located in the middle of nowhere and have paid three times as much for room and food with not as much to do in the surrounding area In two days, we did 4 hikes at the New River Gorge National Park (it is only 15-30 minutes to the park) It is only 10 minutes to Little Beaver State Park The location of the resort allows outdoorsy people to stay in a beautiful place with great food, friendly staff, archery, fitness center, bowling, etc while not keeping you captive to just the resort- there are lots of little diners and ice cream shops close by We will definitely be back and I am sure by then, they will be even more updated I say advertise more- this resort is a gem in WV not only with all its on resort amenities and beautiful setting and architecture but also all the activities that can be done in the surrounding area Here’s to many more years of this beautiful place

Jill Easton

We stayed in one of the Manor Houses at the resort They were a great place for a corporate getaway, family reunion, golf challenge or other group event Each manor house has 2 full kitchens, 2 living rooms and 2 verandas to take in the sunset, 4 bedrooms downstairs and 4 more on the second floor

There are three buildings in a row so the three houses could easily sleep 24 couples or singles The golf course is in the back yard and the main restaurant/ hotel complex 680 steps awayIt worked out great

Carla Williams

The grounds were very nice and the food at Bunker’s was excellent Most of the staff were very friendly We went to the driving range and were pleasantly surprised how inexpensive it was for a bucket of balls

However, our room that was an executive suite was dirty and outdated Its musty smell was overwhelming when you first walked in The carpet was dirty and in the bathroom there was a huge capsule on the floor from the previous guests The wallpaper in the bathroom was spotted and stained The tile on the floors in the bathroom and hallway were uneven Having family members with vision issues, this could definitely be a tripping hazard The air conditioner in the bedroom area sounded like a train every time it would start The curtains were in desperate need of updating

The room was clean The front desk attendant was very nice The pillows are extremely small and the AC unit is loud

Some of the guests were yelling and smoking pot in the hallway late into the night There should be security making sure this is not an issue The free breakfast was quite good Overall not bad for the price but could definitely improve

H

I will give this a 2 star only because the staff were so lovely This hotel needs serious help Our room smelled terribly of cigarette smoke and had a wet feel in the air

We looked out the window to a group of bikers that were hanging out in the parking lot by our room The entire hotel was full of construction workers and rail road workers and I didn’t feel safe there with my 11 year old We left immediately after finding a nasty bug in the shower And this hotel costs 109 per night Laughable

A.N. W

Good experience at the Quality Inn in Beckley Rooms were nice Pool was heated enough that even though it was raining the kids were able to swim

Hot breakfast was okay They only had one waffle maker so it took a while Staff was very friendly Check in/out easy Conveniently located near many restaurants The WiFi was a little spotty though It took a while to connect and then dropped several times

Last weekend our group of friends went rafting down the New River with Kevin and Tug Kevin was our boat guide and was AWESOME! He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly – could not have asked for a better first time white water rafting experience Kevin also took us on an adventure with what he called the “West Virginia Jacuzzi” – best part of the trip! I would highly recommend Ace as they were professional and helpful throughout the entire rafting experience

Lunch on the river was also very nice, however we didn’t eat much because we ate before rafting and weren’t sure what we were getting ourselves intoIf you book a trip with Ace Adventure Resort be sure to ask for Kevin to be your guide When we visit again (as I am sure we will), Kevin is the guy we want in our boat!

russell lynch

We brought our 24 person Boy Scout TroopPhillip was our guide on the New River This was the warmest White Water I ever felt

It was refreshingThe rapids were great Lunch was impressive on the riverCamping is not close to anything It is not a big deal, but you will drive to the rafting pickup or the water park It is nice that they space everyone out else campingI would highly recommend rafting with Ace

Amazing! My kids never had so much fun We came here for Mountain Music Festival 2022 and came back with our kids for zip lining, rafting, aerial course, and water parkBest family vacation ever and the festival was AMAZING!!!Sam our rafting guide was amazing!❤️

What really stands out about Ace is the people, simply the best, most helpful, and generous humans I’ve every run across in one place Trust me, you will have the time of your life here, sharing amazing experiences in a beautiful setting with great peopleAlso the food and beer selection at the lost paddle is awesome and fairly priced When you come here you’ll wanna spend the evenings chowing down delicious food with cold local beers and chatting with the staff and other guests instead of cooking at camp ☮️ ❤️

We’ve stayed here twice and have no real complaints Staff was friendly and helpful Rooms need some maintenance as they are starting to show their age

Hallways and common areas are clean No pool but they do have a small fitness center but you will need a key from the front desk to access it Overall a good deal Located right off the highway with a gas station and restaurant across the road Plenty of parking and general quiet at night

Philip Ward

You get what you paid for This cost effective, unassuming chain of motels offers reasonable rooms, pet friendly with a lower pet fee, microwave/refrigerator, free WI FI, guest laundry and a fitness room, located in another building Located near Interstate 64, Raleigh County Memorial Airport, Southern Regional Jail and very little else

Rooms were clean, with some updates and modern decor but had a stale smoke smell Turning on AC unit seemed to exasperate the problem King size bed was hard as a rock! Thankfully we travel with a foam pad and that made a difference Interesting is the capsule shaped, fiberglass shower But did note that the floor of the shower gives when stepped on Motel is pet friendly but offers no designated potty area and the grounds are not maintained One has to venture out with one’s pup in uncut, tall grass Breakfast was the standard, no frill offering of one temperamental waffle iron, oatmeal packets and only two unsweetened cold cereals, packaged pastries and bagels, bananas and coffee/juice Breakfast area had limited seating, but definitely no line was forming Staff were friendly and check-in/check-out was a breeze

Adam M

We arrived very late due to traveling When we checked in the staff at the front desk was incredibly friendly and spoke with us about local events that were going on Upon entry of the room we noticed that the amenities were pretty outdated

The room itself and all surfaces were very clean as well as the towels and bed dressings In the morning we helped ourselves to the continental breakfast which had the SWEETEST old lady working the kitchen as well as some good food Overall the stay was exactly what I had hoped it would be, a clean place to lay our heads on the way to the beach
