I stayed here for a wedding It was fine, but not good Convenience to the reception in the ballroom is the saving grace

At check-in, we were not told the wi-fi password or that there was coffee and croissants in the lobby in the morning Our room was not made up even after we called and requested it Because of this, we did not have coffee in the room The main issue is how small/tiny the room was I booked a standard double, with two double beds The space between the two beds is two feet Both of us could not move around the room at the same time The biggest annoyance was how small the bathroom is and how non-functional it is No counter space and a vessel sink made it hard to get ready Added to that as the tightness of the cord on the hairdryer I had to fight with it to get it to reach up to my head It took a lot of effort to do that and even then I had to lean against the wall to dry the left side of my head Finally, it is a wet room, so there is a shower curtain that you pull around and a rain forest shower head in one corner Water gets everywhere, so you are standing in bath water while drying hair and putting on make-up It was completely miserable trying to get ready for wedding for two adults in the room and the space The satellite TV kept freezing or did not have signal, so we never were able to get more than five minutes uninterrupted Small things, but it is not worth itThe front desk people were kind and upbeat That was an upside But the rest is not worth it

Great experience!!!Annie from the event team has been a super star! She helped us to accommodate our wedding event even though it was last minute We loved the hotel and the wedding hall Highly recommend

Good location for campus activities Helpful staffRooms leave a bit to be desired

Air conditioner gave a mere suggestion of cool air until about 6am when it finally got cold Drippy faucet in shower was very annoying Lousy TV/no guide, very hard to find anything Plus there is no way to block light in the corner rooms once the sun is upI’ll continue to stay here for MSU related events but I’ll do it knowing I’ll be making sacrifices

Let me first confirm the hotel is indeed temporarily closed until at least fall due to a water main break and renovations Like others writing reviews I experienced a similar surprise to show up with no room availability Marriott Loyalty “guaranteed” the room and ensured me (by more than one agent) that they were open

FrustratingSilver lining, we met Brandon at Fairfield next door (same management company) who helped us out and made things much betterI blame Marriott Corporate for not recognizing the hotel is down for renovations, very unlike them These bad reviews should not reflect poorly on the management company as they are the only one who stood up and made things right I look forward to visiting the newly renovated Residence Inn soon Thank you Brandon!!!Josh

CLOSED! By far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a Marriott family hotel I almost went full nuclear KarenWe booked this hotel 6 months in advance while planning my daughter’s graduation open house

Needed the kitchen to cook for the party The day before our check-in, I get a notice on my Bonvoy app to check-in We definitely needed the room, so I checked inOn the day of our check-in, we pull into the parking lot It seemed odd that no vehicles were in the lot, save one construction truck We walk up to the main door and notice a sign stating all packages need to be sent to the Fairfield Inn next door On the opposite window is a notice that the building was not safe for humans NOT SAFE FOR HUMANS Seriously?!?I call the front desk to see what’s going on Of course there is no answer or any message explaining the situation We drive over to the Fairfield Inn to see if they know what’s going on The front desk clerk proceeds to tell us that there was a flood back in late January The hotel has been shut down since then and probably won’t open until September This is July Remember, I booked this 6 months in advance and even checked in the day before our arrivalI didn’t receive any type of notification from Marriott about this closure Not a phone call, email, letter, carrier pigeon, or app notification I call the corporate line The person I spoke to had absolutely no clue this location was closed “What do you mean it’s closed?” All they could do was help book another hotel for us in the area and cancel our reservation so we don’t get charged the fee for late cancellation They were kind enough to waive the fee for late cancellation on a hotel that is basically condemned Thanks I’m now stressed out of my mind We’re 600 miles from home without a hotel We should have had a hotel because we booked 6 months in advance I’m now dealing with the “manager” (Karen Level 1) who has no power to do anything expect rebook us somewhere else Pretty sure I can do that on my own I have the app Who doesn’t notify their customers when a location has been shutdown? Marriott apparently Who doesn’t give customer service managers the power to make the situation right? Again, apparently MarriottWe asked if they could book us in the hotel next door, the Fairfield Inn According to the corporate “manager”, that hotel is completely booked My wife, see that I’m at a Karen Level 3, heading into nuclear territory, decides to check with the front desk Turns out they do have rooms!Corporate Marriott is absolutely worthless They have no clue what is going on with their hotels They couldn’t offer any kind of discount for our inconvenience They did offer me a whopping 10k in Bonvoy points, which won’t even get you one room for a single night I think that’s about 2 bottles of water from their store This could have been a huge customer service win for themI’ve been a Marriott Rewards/Bonvoy member since 2011 I have their credit card I’ve been Gold Status for the last 2 years and Silver for over 5 To be treated like this is mind blowing What’s the point of a loyalty program if Marriott can’t step up and fix a huge mistake like this? What’s worse is I have reservations for this location for this Christmas Booked in June Again, 6 months in advance at a hotel that is definitely condemned Why on earth would their system allow me to book it?!? Oh, the hotel will be operational again by September Right like I’m going to believe that Nothing like getting stranded without a hotel during Christmas Hotels are easy to come by during the holiday season If you like being stressed to the point that becoming an alcoholic Karen sounds fun, you might want to check this place out If cirrhosis and delirium tremens aren’t your thing, I’d look elsewhereSo disappointed in Marriott There’s a brand new Hilton across the street Maybe it’s time to check out their loyalty program Do you know if they’ll accept Marriot Bonvoy points? Asking for a friend

**Photos were taken at check-out, not check-in!!** We were too excited at the beginning of our vacation to take pictures of the nice room Pleasantly surprised by this hotel in Lansing The suite rooms were very accommodating for our large party for a cousin get-together

The separate bedroom was nice for this Mom and Dad, but it wouldn’t keep someone determined out The kitchenette was incredibly useful and the dishes was a great touch The pool was a little on the cooler side, and the hot tub wasn’t filled, but our family had an absolute blast in the pool The breakfast was decent with a good variety We enjoyed dinner on the patio with the option of a fireplace or to grill There was also a mini basketball court If we had to use one word to describe this hotel: accomodating It is pet-friendly, and some furniture shows some wear from previous occupants

( I’ll start with the good and then go into the bar) The breakfast was okay They had a pretty good selection to choose from The woman chef who works there was very friendly and had a bubbly energy

I loved interacting with herI stayed here for three nights while on a work trip I wish I could leave a better review When I arrived, I had some things to put in the fridge but had to clean it out first since there was quite a bit of opened food in it I went to put my clothes away and it was crumbs as well as hair in the drawers that I had to clean out since I was told housekeeping wouldn’t be available The bathroom sink had not been cleaned off so there was soap stains around the faucet and sink I have attached some photos of other areas in the room that they don’t think will be checked by the people staying in them, so they don’t clean it You’d think it would be better during Covid but I was disappointed I checked out the pool and hot tub later and felt like I just got out of dirty bath water when I was done I smelled disgusting because of what was washed into that water I asked the front desk how often they change the way and I was told every six months I can see why that salt water stunk so badly I went downstairs at about 1 am after traffic died down, to turn in my towels because I was told to use my bath towel for the pool due to backed up laundry When I went down to turn in the bath towels and get more, I was polite and was met with a rude reaction I think the woman was doing some school work and when I asked, she rolled her eyes and didn’t say anything before getting up and grabbing some keys She came from behind the desk while still saying nothing and turned around the corner of the desk before saying, “follow me” I went in the laundry room with her and put my towels in the dirty clothes hamper before she picked some other ones out and gave them to me before I said thank you and we silently parted ways

It’s the People that make a place memorableCame in for a work event with a few people on a Friday night The front desk women was fantastic

The room didn’t have sheets or a pillow and she fixed our issue right away Pool was nice but the hot tub needs help I give a 5 star for the outstanding costumer serviceI go to alot of hotels and I’ll be back to see Gail anytime I’m in Lansing for work thanks for a great stay 💞

Lori Hopp

I stay here at least once a month, and it has always been great! This time however the price increased and the room was a lot less clean We were put on the first floor and the was water damage which I understand However, the hotel was not full yet we were placed directly across from where they started construction at 8 a

m I spoke to the front desk twice expecting resolve and for a ” we will take it into consideration for next time” I am a nurse and my sleep is important to me I likely will not stay here again, sadly I felt unheard

Very nice hotel Clean, well appointed and great location Breakfast was a bit lacking but that seems to have become the norm in most places right now

I would gladly stay at this hotel again if I could avoid the front deskThis morning (7/24 @ approximately 8 am) after carrying my breakfast plate upstairs to enjoy in my room, I discovered I had been checked out and my digital key had been inactivated I carried my plate back downstairs to get an actual key card Told the gal at the desk the situation and expressed to her that I wasn’t happy about the inconvenience and the fact my breakfast was continuing to get cold She told me to “Calm Down” that I hadn’t been checked out and everything was fine (I was not anything other than calm with her at any point) I told her that despite her reassurances, I still needed a key to get in my room and I advised her to never tell a guest to “calm down” She then proceeded to argue with me, telling me she was just being nice, I didn’t hear her tone of voice, etc” She was completely rude and condescending I told her that I clean heard her tone and there is no circumstance or tone of voice which makes telling a guest to “calm down” acceptable, especially when I was nothing but calm I wished her a good day and walked away before she could continue to argue with me Very disappointed in her representation of the staff

This hotel could do much better But after staying for 30 days, we experience some issue with the staff for cleaning and kitchen Running out of food was unexceptable, as staff was seen giving away food to their coworkers

They have staff that lives there as well, which is fine, but keep the kids under control Lastly, make sure your doors are locked at all times because staff just waked in without knocking while I was getting changed This hotel has so much potential but there were a lot of inappropriate things going on outside with the staff Just needs to do a total house cleaning of staff that are not front desk

first & most important, bartenders Ana & Q were literally the most amazing people EVER they deserve the biggest raise & promotion we laughed soo hard & they made us feel like we were home

they were extremely helpful & had wonderful recommendations for local food & entertainment because of them alone, i would absolutely come back they went above and beyond! the location of this hotel is prime time! a short walk or drive to many fun places the hotel is very modern & clean i had the absolute best time! would absolutely stay here again!

Mike Scinta

Unfortunately I can not recommend staying here I will start with the positives It’s a newer hotel in what appears to be an up and coming part of town so everything is new and seems well maintained

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and a good portion of the staff were friendlyThe first negative will be checking in With no clear signs, or even an unloading area to drop off your luggage, you find yourself driving around a parking lot unsure of where to go When another guest (not staff) sees you struggling, and explains where to park, and how to enter (you park behind the building, in a pay by the hour lot, and then walk back to the front to enter Make sure to bring the parking ticket, they will take it from you, but charge you an additional $13 a day to park)While staying there, be careful what staff you ask a question of Even simple ones like “what floor is your laundry room on?” They may tell you “3rd floor” and after wandering around aimlessly you will actually find it located of the FOURTH floor If you need to use their laundry, be sure to bring your own quarters, asking the staff for a roll of quarters seemed to confuse them (it was $2 for the washer, and I think the dryer was free? It might just have been broken the times I used it?)When you reach the service desk, even if you booked the room months in advance, and it’s 5pm, it doesn’t mean your room will be ready We waited over a half an hour for them to “find” us a room We used that time to bring in our luggage It’s a pretty good haul back to the parking lot, and without a room key to enter the door by the parking lot, you find yourself hauling your luggage back around to the front doors againAnd then there’s Melissa (I believe that was her name?)Full disclosure, we were required to stay at this location for a Baseball tournament Our team has literally stayed at probably over 40 hotels through the years, and we have never had a problemAfter the days games, you can not meet in one person’s room, they are too small to fit an entire team, so we meet in the lobby to unwind, discuss the events of the day and games still left to play We can be a pretty large crowd, but we try to be respectful, and we make sure the “kids” (all 16 or older now) are as well Melissa apparently did not want us hanging around the lobby (even though the two nights prior, not one person on the staff mentioned they did not allow guests to hang out in the lobby) That was fine with us, so we asked if we could sit on the patio We were declined So we offered to rent a meeting room for the team, something we have done at other hotels, and again we were declined We tried our best to make some kind of arrangement that would be acceptable, and the only option Melissa was willing to give, is that we all just go sit in our rooms Asking ten 16 year old boys to just “sit in your room” isn’t going to end wellSo we ask to speak to a manager, someone who possibly would be able to help us find an option that might work Melissa gave us a phone number that rang a phone behind her (that no one answered of course)Let’s be clear, not every hotel wants a baseball team to stay there, that’s understandable, BUT If your hotel is going to host teams that travel from other states to be there, they should be willing to make accommodations to those teams If you are not willing to even TRY to find a solution, don’t host the teams There are plenty of hotels that are more than happy to have teams, and up to this point, every hotel we have stayed at will work with the coaches and parents to ensure everyone has a nice stay Not Melissa She was unfriendly, unprofessional, and made us feel unwelcomedNext tournament, we promise not to hang out in your lobby, or because of Melissa, your hotel

Entry door scraped the floor and only closed completely with brute strength Door cards lost their code and had to be recalibrated at the desk No milk at breakfast Front desk service friendly

Jen Salowitz

The room was okay at best It had a strange smell to it The tub had dirty streaks and hair at the bottom (not stains)

And the bath towels had hairs on them that weren’t my own The breakfast was awful which was disappointing as Holiday Inn breakfasts are usually great There was inadequate parking due to construction vehicles I was in town for a training at the Hyatt and I regret not staying at the Hyatt

Emily M

We had an awful experience Unhelpful staff on duty Their card machine was broken so we had no keys to our room

The cable did not work on our tv and our carpet was wet when we entered We were in town for a wedding and got back to the hotel at 12:30am and by 9am our car had a piece cut out and gone The staff could not contact their manager for us, the front desk was unable to call 911 due to their phone being broken and there were no security cameras outside on the hotel This was the worst holiday inn we have ever been to However after speaking with the manager, she was super kind and helpful She helped us & resolved the issues

The staff does an outstanding job of keeping public spaces clean at this hotel, restocking breakfast items when they are out We had a queen suite and it was plenty of room for 3 adults and 2 kids Lots of space

Dani

Extremely rude front desk attendant upon checking in for a wedding She refused to disclose what would be charged on a card after making an online reservation for a room ( for a wedding) I understand it’s a third party, but honey, you should be able to kindly disclose what would’ve been charged via Hampton directly

Absolutely not the way I would’ve spoken to a customer Here’s what I would have done:1) disclose to the customer that there’s a confidentiality agreement between Hampton Inn & 3rd parties for bookings;2) give a monetary breakdown of what is what (here’s a nightly room charge, here’s the amount of added incidentals {deposit} and note that it will be accredited back to your account following check out, providing nothing was damaged or stolen from the hotel) and I would kindly help my customer UNDERSTAND instead of saying “WELL YOU WANNA STAY HERE OR NOT”Anyway Not how I would handle customer service, but who am I to say that? ☺️

The breakfast that is ‘Cooked to order’, Is the best part about this place!!!! I spend a lot of time at hotels, and this is the one that I wanna go back to! It was such a great stay for a day in a half The room was amazing the price was great, I was very impressed with everything The entire place was beautiful

They had truck parking, so I could park my Semi in the lot Oh, and the staff was the absolute best! Clean and comfy! More hotels should be like this one

This is a great hotel ,I really enjoyed my stay here It’s convenient it’s close to stores restaurants, and the expressway In the evening they have a social hour in which each guest gets two free drinks , or beers

They offer a pretty nice breakfast in the morning til 9:30 am , and 10 am on the weekends The room had a real nice couch in it and beds were super comfortable Front desk is super friendly, and helpful

Steve Alvarado

Quality Suites was a great hotel to sleep in and relax Concession stand was fairly priced, breakfast was amazing thanks to their cook Todd Front Desk helped out amazingly for accommodations and assistance

However, it won’t be a full 5 star as there were some complications Unfortunately their boiler or eater heater was down and was not able to get fixed during my stay And in one of the rooms, there was a brown-yellow looking stain that I’m sure Room Service knewOutside of those two complaints, I would definitely choose this hotel as a hotel to stay

The front desk employee was very kind and we were able to check in a couple of hours early We stayed in a suite with a king bed and jetted tub The hotel pool was nice as it was under a greenhouse-type roof so during the day the sun shines through to warm up the pool

I loved that the pool was not freezing cold! I was very excited to try the breakfast but I honestly did not like the eggs-they had a tomato/veggie filling that didn’t taste fresh I did enjoy everything else 4 stars because they promote a no-smoking policy but it smelled like a mixture of cigarettes and marijuana

Louis Trempe

We had to find a last minute hotel, and it was better than what I expected for a two star rating I gave the location a lower rating only because it’s off the highway with limited chain restaurants nearby It’s quiet and suburban, which might work for some people

Room was clean and beds were comfortable Good room for sleeping!

Bruce Frail

One of the worse Best Westerns I have stayed in I was there as part of a research trip, 10 days, we had to demand room cleaning which we only got once We went out and bought cleaning supplies, the halls are not cleaned well at all and about their breakfast, they do have one

Very limited If you like tea, bring a hot plate and pot, their hot water is not very hot and tastes like coffee If you like the smell of pot, you will love it here Two good points, the guest laundry is very good and the workout room is also very good

This hotel definitely needs a remodel There was no housekeeping during the stay, carpets and walls in hallways are dirty Restaurant only open for breakfast and closes at 9

Starbucks coffee counter in lobby closed permanently during my stay Shower was clogged HOWEVER, the staff was incredibly sweet and very attentive, always helping whenever needed 5 star staff!!

Blain Becktold

The staff and hotel management were very friendly, address our needs and were easy to work with I would recommend the hotel to others for business functions and lodging The hotel was used for and expo held at the Lansing Center with over 300 attendees

I did not have one complaint from guest that stayed at the hotel for lodging and we hosted a dinner for 80 people The food and service was excellent

Johanna Wright

I was throughly disappointed It was not a nice room, it did not appear clean, the restaurant and Starbucks were both closed Even a basic hotel has continental breakfast

For $200 I would expect some form of breakfast Then there are muffins for $4 a piece Then on top of that it’s $15 to park Absolutely ridiculous Will never stay again You don’t get your money’s worth

Although this is a nice hotel the lies from the staff and double dipping on payments as well overcharging I’d have to never recommend this particular hotel to anyone who don’t want to be cheated out of money Staff messed up when we were checking in and overcharged ($620 for three nights when it was rated at $124/night) my card We realized right away and went down and thought we had it fixed so we stayed

We were informed by the assistant manager that we could pay when we received the money back and that he removed my card off file and put us on cash pay 6/3/22 Today 4 days later still waiting on the money back they decided to take an additional $453?? from my card I haven’t been at this hotel for a few days and had all intentions of paying what was owed after I received the overcharge back They lied about taking the card off file and now for a few nights they have stole $107400 from me when I only owed $45300 If you want your money to not be stolen from you another hotel might be your best interestVERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!This is theft!!!

Two nights in a room that smelled like sewage before they moved me to another room and promised me points as compensation Assured me the points would be on my account They are not

Called and left message and was assured the manager would call me the next day No manager has called This review will be updated if they ever call me and do what they said they were going to do

Rooms look nice but lack updated amenities like USB charging, even little things like no extra pillowsBreakfast was awful Biscuits gritty, gross and cold sausage, very limited options Oatmeal was good

This hotel was located close to small shops and very convenient for us to get to MSU for a graduation I usually don’t stay at 3-star hotels but this hotel was located close to my family that I was also visiting First I want to commend the staff for being on top of things

Me and my family arrived late at night for check in and the room that was assigned to us was not showing that it was ready for new guest The hostess took the time to make sure that we had decent rooms and the rooms were a little muggy but they were pretty clean! The next morning my husband was very impressed with the service for breakfast the gentleman was so nice The pool area was perfect and it was a part of a highlighted moment in capturing memories for me and my family Thank you and keep up the great work!

The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable but the cafe is not open and apparently hasn’t been open for dinner in 3 years For some reason they never bothered to update their menu/tv guide/ or website about this and made it a huge inconvenience Some of the staff were also just rude and very vague when trying to get answers about our rooms

I’d recommend staying at a Hilton instead

Kay Gross

Clean rooms, front desk was very professional and kind, very comfortable beds Only downfalls: the room smelled of marijuana pretty strong due to a neighbor and our heater started malfunctioning at 4am until I finally turned it off at 5:30am after it kept me awake The management was kind and gave a discount for the heater malfunctioning, we never mentioned the smell

Overall, we would stay again

We had a late night check in and Lexi was so amazing amd so helpful Our room was great we are very happy with the size and all the amenities we had in there Loved having the kitchenette

The staff that we interacted with were all very friendly and helpful Angelica made multiple phone calls to help us get our devices connected to the wifi since the connecting options were not popping up The continental breakfast was good the only thing I wish was that they had a few hot breakfast items I wish they had left a broom in the suite, we had a dust pan but no broomThis was our first stay here and it was fantastic I will be staying here again

Suites were very clean updated and spacious with all the amenities My problem was with room (137) it was next to a utility room or something like it and it was so loud we couldn’t sleep Ironically neither phone worked so we couldn’t call the front desk

Told the front desk the problem and they took care of us! Great customer service Thank you!

Stay was overall good Check-in was easy, although the staff wasn’t overly friendly Room was modern and bright

I liked the layout and large TV provided in the room Room needed better vacuuming (some pretty large crumbs on the couch and floor near the fridge, shower area and door handle needed more attention) but was otherwise cleanThe SmartTV was slow, but was larger, swiveled easily towards the bed, and worked well!My travel partner wasn’t feeling well on the last day The front desk staff was accommodating and helpful in getting us signed up for the Marriott Rewards program so we could take advantage of a late check-out (at no cost) Overall, would recommend this hotel

American Girl

If you’re looking for a place to feel like a prisoner, this is your hotel! Avoid if a woman, minority, or LGBTQIA, the place winks at you while taking your $ but is actually full of thieves, liars, stalkers and discriminatory bigots It also turned out to be unsafe

There’s absolutely no security camera system Don’t be fooled by the older women on the staff, they only seem to be interested in ogling the male athletes I feel bad for the young staff, because they’re more professional and pleasant than the GM/managers I had an extended stay; called down to ask about getting an air purifier and was told that I should “maybe look at another hotel” the woman was more than rude This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed in my life, avoid at all costs There’s also no shower curtains or doors terrible No regular chef, as was advertised

Check in and check out process really really smooth Excellent breakfast that wont break your pocket, and the morning cook is really polite and sweet, we let her know of my daughters egg allergy and she worked really hard to accommodate all our allergies and requests and everything turned out perfect All the staff are really hard working, polite and generous

I would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area Clean beds and bedrooms Excellent staff working here

The front desk was very friendly and helpful The pool, well where I come from we call it a bathtub Very small

The beds very comfortable and the rooms were clean However, there is a HUGH design flaw There are other reviews regarding the bed basically being in the bathroom You will not sleep here if people have to get up to use the bathroom or shower before you are up It’s not a small door, it is a slider size door with a massive ceiling light fixture shinning on the beds that are about two feet from the slider I would not stay here if I had children Matter of fact, I won’t stay at this location again This place is fine if you are traveling alone

Min Gyu Park

I stayed here over 2 weeks Staffs were kind and a room was clean (If you stay here for long time, there may be discounts

) Breakfast was fine, fitness room was fine, and the hotel was quiet In contrast, laundry fee was little bit expensive and water pressure of shower booth was little bit weak Except that, it was great hotel to stay I’ll stay here again if I have to stay long time in hotels

Matt Darga

Bathroom door is at foot of bed and is frosted glass So if anyone uses the bathroom while you are trying to sleep it is very bright Which is funny because these suites are actually quite big and easily held us and our 3 kids

The other major issue was that 3 trains went by during the night and blew their horns the whole time So all in all and a pretty broken up night Also the pool is tiny, cold, and no hot tub Our kids filled it to capacityThat being said the hotel is actually really nice I love the big rooms and the big bathroom and the big closet I liked the decor too Breakfast was good, although no waffles haha
