Simone was the best part of our stay She was extraordinary The front desk staff were great too, especially Steve

However some rooms have been remodeled and some look like they haven’t been looked after for a decade with minimal cleaning Guess which one I was inThe food for our conference was awful Breakfast: muffins and random pastries Nothing else Lunch: hard to describeGo to the bar, ask for Simone, and you’ll have so much fun it won’t matter about the rest

The atmosphere is very nice It is very clean I stayed here 2 nights in a row

The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because I’ve been woken up in the middle of the night both nights I’ve stayed here due to minor inconveniences On the first night the room was set to 62 degrees and I woke up freezing with no comforter Had to adjust the thermostat and ask for an extra blanket from front desk Luckily the thermostat in the room works and they brought me a comforter On the second night, the smoke detector battery in my room was out and woke me upAlso, beware of housekeeping not knocking before entering your room

My girlfriend and I were looking at hotels near the plaza and decided to stay here Hands down this was by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in the Kansas City area The location is fantastic, rooms were extremely clean, parking/valet service was prompt and ready to assist in any way they could, staff and bartender (Mimo was his name) were more than pleasing to talk with

I would 100% stay here again I will definitely be recommending this hotel to family and friends that are looking to stay near the plaza!PS I’m currently writing this review in my room while a portion of the hotel is under renovation and they still don’t miss!

Room had a weird musty smell, breakfast was trash, and the hot tub was not hot, or clean The pool is super small When i voice concerns about the hot tub not being hot, was told “sorry it isn’t up to your standards” snottily from the woman working the front desk

Had to pay a whole day even though i checked out 2 hours late I understand if you checkout late you need to pay, but i was checking out because the hotel was a dump i wasn’t late i was dissatisfied Short story long just don’t stay somewhere else We’re now at the Embassy Suites for about the same price

Susan Little GM was awsome!! After having such a horrible horrible experience at another hotel and then trying to find other hotels to stay they say 3rd time is a charm and it was!!Thank you so much for the hospitality and compassion with our previous incident!! We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back at some point

Brien Hunsaker

Today I experienced possibly the worst experience you can have with a hotel My wife works for Marriott and we booked five rooms around 2 months ago Marriott has a deal where you can get an associate rate for your spouse and for your parents

You can also book for your friends and family that are traveling with you for additional rooms at a little higher rate but lower than full price Sometime during our 6-hour journey to the hotel today, the general manager (Susan Little) called and left a voicemail that they could not honor the rates that were booked online I guess they had no time to notify us in the previous 60 days? Since she did very little to try to help us out today I now I can understand her last name Anyhow, when we got there she said the policy only allowed us to get two rooms and I said the policy said we could get two rooms at the associate rate and additional rooms for immediate family at the friends rate She said she had worked there for 10 years and knew the policy backwards and forwards and I was wrong and she was only going to give me two rooms at the associate rate and the rest would be $50 higher than what was booked My wife then went on to the Marriott website and signed in and print it off the sheet that shows the rate details which said as an associate you could get two rooms and additional rooms would be at the friends and family rate The general manager was then upset because I proved he wrong and she said she would not honor the friends and family rate I then asked for the phone number to corporate so I could call in a complaint after which the general manager, Susan Little, decided to cancel all of the rooms and now we had no rooms available to us We then went over to the Hampton across the street and after explaining Fairfield’s terrible customer service and treatment we received Hampton gave us a lower rate beating the Fairfield Inn associate rate which ended up being a much nicer hotel than the Fairfield Inn I would definitely check out the Hampton before checking in to the Fairfield inn And after this experience I will not be coming back to the Fairfield inn and suites by Marriott at Kansas City anytime in the future Attached is the policy so decide for yourself about the policy

The Candlewood Suites Independence MO is in a nice quiet location away from the street Hotel appears to be relatively recent construction and was in really good shape Parking lot was fine and the whole place had a safe atmosphere

My room was immaculately clean from one side to the other The layout was great and all appliances were in great condition TV was larger than most hotels offer The bed, pillows, and linens were as comfortable as you can getBathroom was also great very clean Phenomenal shower headStaff was exceptional, most accommodating and professionalMy only gigs: There is an exhaust fan that runs 24/7 in the bathroom that has no switch And mine happened to have a slight whine that was very annoying and audible when the AC was not running Also, by the lobby in the commons area where there was coffee and foods for sale, it was in need of counter wipe downs and trash removal both times I visitedI would not hesitate for a return visit Great experience

We had a lovely stay here for two nights Our room was large and well appointed, and the bathroom was big and all marble, with a no- fog mirror The hotel was beautiful, very clean, tastefully done

The online check-in was quick and easy, same for checkout There was music in the bar, which was lovely, and the bartender, Robert, was delightful We really loved having a balcony and a nice view of country Club plaza, and we were close to everything The beds were really comfortable, with one firmer pillow and one that was soft and comfy The restaurant was great, and our breakfast was really nice All the hotel employees went out of their way to do whatever they could for usWe did have an issue with the A/C, since I’m always cold and we could not get it warm enough, so we just turned it off The only thing I could suggest is a towel rack in the bathroom by the vanity, that would make things easier, but overall everything was amazing We’re planning on returning, and possibly staying at the concierge level next time Beautiful hotel!

First stay here Hotel is beautiful and spotless Staff are personable and professional

Although requests weren’t spot on the first time, either wrong room or forgot something, every measure was taken to ensure requests were fulfilled Wait and cleaning staff were especially top notch with care attention you’d expect in a five star resort Salad at American Slang restaurant was perfect Rooms were above average, with robe and slippers Management seems somewhat new in the profession but adapting Overall a great great experience

LaRhonda Boone

My husband and I had an impromptu date night The room and staff were amazing I highly recommend the concierge package so you can have access to the VIP lounge

Don elevated our experience to make it an unforgettable night There were several people waiting to check in and Jacob, who was walking out the door for the night, stepped in and helped everyone get checked in quickly We cannot wait to stay again

Good Hotel Breakfast was good and had some unique options like egg souffle and sugar Belgian waffles (or something like that) and had basics like juice oatmeal yogurt bagels and waffle maker Additional outdoor seating next to breakfast area was a nice touch with some decent views

Rooms were good size (2 queen suite), bathroom was clean and had enough towels for a family of 4 without having to call front desk for more I do also like the soaps and hair products in the shower with a dispenser Some of the fixtures in room were nice enough to consider them for my own home it did not feel outdated I would definitely stay here again Overall positive experience No complaints

DEMONTAYE NIXON

Very nice Room was really clean Staff are all very nice

Breakfast could be a bit better My girlfriend doesn’t eat cheese but they only provide prepackaged breakfast sandwiches that have cheese I usually stay at Hilton properties because as a business traveler I get credit for my stay even if book through a third party site Would frequent this hotel even more if they did the same

Athena Press

If I had 6 stars i’d give them to this work and play gem Due to work, i travel very often and our stays at hotels are long so, the hotel is our gome for weeks, and sometimes montg This Marriott branch is bar far at the rop in my experience with other branda

They do offer cumplimentary breakfast, which I almost never used because i had a kitchenette in my Jr Suite The breakfast is not their high point but, hey it’s cumplimentaryBy far that little flaw is overcompensated by super kind and pro staff, a salt water pool, a very decent gym and many other amenities, clean, neat, modernTo many good things for this short reviewThere is no other place to arrive in Kansas City, MO for your work needs

We stayed a couple nights and loved the experience The only downside was that some of the dining choices located within the hotel were limited, so we didn’t get to try them all as we had hoped The rooms were clean with a nice layout and plenty of storage

The hotel had a clean smell to it that we appreciated We would definitely stay here again! Within a close drive to all sorts of food and sights to see, it was a great choice for us

YINKA DARE

The tiny smoking balconies in the hotel rooms are pretty awesome Pull out couch is not comfortable, but it is not too bad Food options are pretty poor

Could not find any food available after midnight on a Saturday night Nothing nearby outside of the resort either Casino floor is fine Strong enough police and security presence that everyone should feel safe whenever Soda vending machines did not work on at least three different floors Disappointing to not have some at least food vending machine options since everything closes so early The food options were severely lacking overall The room was nice and the king bed was comfortable The tiny smoking balcony is really the number one selling feature

Marci C

Nice place with lots of restaurants, (the buffet is closed for now due to covid, I miss the all you can eat crab night you was able to get there), fast food, drinking establishment, sports bar, even a movie theater and arcade for everyone else Hotel is clean and fresh Welcoming and warm

Definitely a place to relax Open parking and a parking garage plus valet parking If you just need a place to walk around to get exercise this is a good spot Lots of bright lights and inviting atmosphere Go see and enjoy!

Ed Austin (ShadowWolf180)

When visiting the area near Worlds of Fun, there are several hotel/motel options in the immediate vicinity; namely due West of the amusement park across Interstate 435 on Randolph Road/Corrington Avenue Going back some 15 years ago, many of those options weren’t bad at all, with one or two higher-priced optionsFast forward to 2022, and some of the motels are turning into places were the homeless or less fortunate live all the time

So finding a decent stay in that area is actually quite challengingFortunately, this hotel is still holding true to being a quality place to stay, and at a reasonable price The Staff are friendly, and the hotel is clean The rooms are what you expect with the normal amenities (TV with cable, coffee pot, etc) Access is through main doors to help with security This is a plus given the locationThe only thing to be concerned about (and honestly this is not the fault of Super 8) is the deterioration of the surrounding area Again, other motels very close by are not the basic bargain motels of yesteryear, instead hosting recent crimes as stand offs, assaults, and theftsMy wife and I were hosting our oldest son, his wife, and our grand daughter for a weekend We live close by, so we wanted them to be close by as well Given our local knowledge we had to do our homework and go through the reviews of all the hotels there and found this to be the best We weren’t disappointed, and neither was our son and his familyIf you are planning a visit to say Worlds of Fun and want to stay very close to the Park, this is really your one good option without paying absurdly high prices or settling for a 15+ minute commute from the Park to your hotel

Philip Dodd

The lady at the front desk was awesome, she gets 5 stars! the only reason I gave 3 stars is the jacuzzi had 15 spots were the coating was chipped off and the shower had 1 spot that was chipped off Since the jacuzzi is made of fiber glass underneath the coating, we didn’t get a chance to use it, I didn’t want to risk getting literally getting covered in fiber glass Other then that the room was really nice, and for the price it couldn’t have been better

I’ve paid more for a room without a Jacuzzi that wasn’t as nice as this one, and couldn’t hear other people in there room untill they open there door So the sound deadening was remarkable I’d stay there again if they fix the jacuzzi

Brandi Moss

This place was horrible First off you must have a credit card and an id that matches So you can’t use your husbands credit card with out him

Secondly our bed was broke and my son cut his hand on it when the bed slipped off and he fell The rooms were musty and moldy smelling The door frames were all bent like someone had tried to pry the doors open The lock on the inside was broke The gentleman that checked us in was hateful The only positive thing was the beds were comfy, but super small they are only a full size bed

Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing getaway The only downside to our stay was the loud guests, which the hotel can’t control We had the theme suite and it was lovely

We did have to ask for more shampoo, as there was only enough for one person But they kindly gave me more! The room was very nicely decorated and the view was very nice Breakfast was really good, better than most hotels This was my second stay and I would definitely go back 😊

So, it’s a hotel You want clean room, safe property, some conveniences like a microwave and mini-fridge, snacks, a bar, ample parking, you get those things What makes this place great is the people

Everyone I had to interact with was wonderful and always gave me the feeling that I was important and that what I had to say, they wanted to hear It was really nice From check, to the night shift worker giving me directions, to the guy at the bar and even the person who was taking care of my room, everyone was great This is a good place to stay by yourself, with a group or with your family I highly recommend and I will definitely make this my hotel of choice for all of my visits

Briana Schmidt

Great location, clean hotel, super friendly staff, amazing room (get the king with the whirlpool tub — worth it), AND, our favorite was that they have “adult swim” from 10-11pm There was a large group of teens at the hotel during our stay and, as kids do, they were all over the pool having a good time Adult swim hour gave us the time to just … chill, as adults like to do, without the craziness of kids being kids

If you need somewhere to stay in or around Kansas City, definitely pick this one It’s just far enough away from the big city to stay safe and quiet but also close enough to enjoy what the city and surrounding areas have to offerWill definitely book here next time I’m in the area 10/10

ZERO STARS! this hotel charged my card for my entire hotel stay…then as I’m standing in line to check in I over hear that my stay was CANCELLED because they “were overbooked” NO CALL IN ADVANCE! NO APOLOGY! They said that since I booked third party, my reservation was first to be automatically cancelled They knew this this morning and proceeded to charge my card anyway

Had I known this before my 4 hour drive here, I could have made alternate arrangements but no…had to be just as we arrived to check in…VERY ANGRY WITH THIS PLACE! Now we’re having to scramble to find a hotel…kids in tote and all VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I stayed at Unity Hotel on 3/18/22 for the first time because I just randomly booked a room through Choice Hotels I didn’t expect to stumble upon such a wonderful place to stay The staff were all true definitions of servant leaders focusing energy on helping those visiting

The amount of warmth and the beautiful spirits within everyone I came across was a wonderful surprise The energy within this hotel was calming and for the first time in over a week I actually slept through the night The decor throughout the hotel was beautiful and the rooms extremely clean and kept up I look forward to visiting the hotel and Unity Village in the future for a retreat Thank you all for a perfect experience!

From the gorgeous, expansive campus, to the neatly and brightly arranged rooms, to the hot complimentary breakfast, to the excellent staff, you cannot ask for a better accommodationThough a bit outside the city, it’s proximity away from the hustle and bustle is actually an alluring feature of the hotelAnd one of the best features above all is the sprawling campus and gardens outside the hotel

I dare say you’ll find a perk like this at any other hotel The nearby fountains, gardens, and nature trail were intimate and complemented the hotel perfectly Following a breakfast comprised of pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, and fresh lemon cucumber water, my family and I were able to explore and relish in the gardens/fountains all to ourselves I also like that the building itself operates more like a boutique than a large chain hotel Everything just seems personalized just for youI sure hope this place is able to stay open because this is the place we want to stay at whenever we pass thru KC

Daniel C

I can’t speak highly enough about Unity Hotel and its staff Check-in was easy/quick and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful I didn’t expect to find such a gem but was happy to book this spot for a short stay

Enjoyed the breakfast very much as well as the nature walk path outside Saw fireflies for the first time which was a small treat Would 100% book here again

This place was such a great stay! It was very homey with a quaint feel of comfort The staff was extremely helpful and so pleasant 10/10 recommend on staying here

Super close to the stadium!! Once we got our of the stadium traffic I would say it was about 6-8 minutes away from where everything stops with streets shut down to clear the stadium 😃 So convenient! 🤗 My girlfriend and I really loved all of the antique style furniture and the decor Was just a very neat little place to stay with some history

Shona Seiler

I have stayed at many B&B and this one was one of the best Very attentive host, private bath rooms with luxurious linens There were delicious snacks out every afternoon

Games, books and DVD’s for entertainment Decorating was tastefully beautiful The breakfast was to die for and would cook an alternative if needed Would definitely stay here again

Maggie Parker

Charming inn with comfortable, clean rooms and lots of personal touches that made it a perfect “home base” for us during our weekend in KC There’s complimentary coffee, soda and water in main room and desserts on the table each afternoon in addition to the homemade breakfast each morning Debbie is an attentive and accommodating innkeeper

She even made eggs for my husband and me for breakfast when she noticed we didn’t finish our initial plate, as neither of us are huge fans of French toast We stayed in the gorgeous Italian room with the spa tub and fireplace The bed was very comfortable, and I slept so well even though I usually have trouble sleeping away from home The inn is in a great location if you are planning to catch a few Royals games which is what we did Will definitely be returning in the future!

Nice size rooms that are up to date, staff is friendly and available at all hours, nice pool and hot tub Can be on the pricey side compared to the other 5 hotels it is next to buy by far the nicest of them If you are coming to town for World’s of Fun it is an ideal location

Not to close to anything else But casinos it’s about 25 minutes to downtown and 30 mins from kci airport

The queen bed suite is probably the smallest candlewood room suite I have ever stayed inThe bed was against the wall less than 6 inchesI had to crawl into bed from the footSince we have over 200000 points, we have seen quite a few rooms The staff was nice but will not stay here again unless it’s the only place we can find between little Rock and Minneapolis that accepts pets

2 Chronicles 7:14

Loud Music!!I booked my stay for 2 days The first day I checked in around 7:00pm and there was already people outside in the back area with Bluetooth speakers blaring with loud music I called the front seat around 9:30, she said that they should lower the music around 10:00pm

Well, 10:30pm came around and the music was at the same levelI called again and the employee went out and ask them to lower the music The second day, the same crowd started their music at 4:30pm……I called at 10pm and the front desk operator (different from the night before), hesitantly said she will go and ask them to lower the music They eventually lowered it after 15minsI started to wonder if this hotel is specifically designed for a party hub Due to the fact that the crowd had blue tooth speakers that lit up They had a microphone They had large amounts of alcohol Music as loud as they desired…only thing missing was a disco ballIn general……when most people are traveling, they rely on hotels for rest…peaceful rest That is what you pay for Travelers rise at early hours of the morning to start their journey again, how can you successfully do that without getting some sleep with loud music outside your window??I give it 2 stars ONLY because the front desk employee on my first night was so sweet and welcoming

It’s a brand new hotel The room was super clean Front desk is very courteous and very helpful in accommodating our requests

Will definitely give 5 stars if the elderly woman at the hot breakfast counter had been more polite and did her job She gets frustrated and yells at the guests when there are more orders for pancakesWhile the breakfast time is until 10 am, when families with kids came to the breakfast bar a little before 9:30 am, she didn’t even provide them bread (Not sure why bread has to be with her, it could rather be at the open counter where anyone could pick) She just said there’s nothing available

When I first got to my room, it wasn’t even clean It appeared that someone was still staying in the room They had to send someone up to the room and clean it while I was there

Just communication with the staff was horrible I would ask them to have my room clean, they would tell me it would be done and it never got done I went for the first 6 days and they didn’t clean my room After talking to the supervisor of the property, it happened again, ended up leaving early to another hotel Will never stay in an Element hotel again

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking your hotel This web site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have rates much cheaper than others! You’re welcome :)! This place is one of my favorites in this area

I have been staying here for a very long time If you choose this place you for sure won’t regret itWe are here every year for the Villain Arts Tattoo Festival and I have not been disappointed in 8 straight years! The area is clean, rooms are comfortable and they meet all of your needs I can’t say enough good things about the staff, each and everyone of them The concession workers for food and the bartenders for our show were and are always polite, friendly and just awesome workers I would recommend staying here for one night or a week every year like us

The Boss Babe

This hotel is lacking in amenities It should be ranked as a 3 starThe rooms are spacious, clean, and come with a view

Staff was very helpful and friendlyRegarding the amenities and the remaining stay…It was very difficult to grab a quick drink or cocktail as there’s no clear direction on restaurant services I don’t know if anything was even open The pool is antiquated and very disappointing It is not close to the rooms The hotel provided 4 pool chairs for their guests The rest of the guests were sitting on the concrete No poolside drink or food services I would not consider this area/pool of the hotel accessible to those with physical disabilitiesThe hotel appears to be better suited for conferences, corporate stays, or maybe weddings It was not a good fit for our needs

Wonderful & Safe stay with our towed car and trailer full of stuffWe stayed here on our road trip from Atlanta to Salt Lake City We were moving our son with his car and belongings So we were leery to stay just anywhere hearing all the stories of people’s stuff all getting stolen

We asked the hotel staff if we could park our truck and trailer and stuff in front of the hotel and they were very cooperative and allowed us This kept our stuff safe The room itself was clean, spacious and very comfortable The beds are amazing even their sofa bed was comfortable The breakfast in the morning was ample and very delicious – they even had little quiches Everything was perfect! Would definitely recommend this hotel

We checked in on line two days earlier but when we arrived at around 5:30 pm we were told our room was blocked for us but never cleaned Front desk clerk tried to find us another room but nothing was available She called the manager and they suggested they assist us in getting a room at another Marriott in the opposite direction we were traveling

We declined since we had been traveling for over 9 hours already Manager was going to get room cleaned and told us to go have dinner while they did When we returned we had to wait a few minutes longer until the room was available On another note when we booked this hotel we didn’t notice that there was an amusement park across from the hotel It was the weekend and hotel was packed with kids! They were all over touching everything and going wild in the pool They were having fun but not relaxing for us seniors

This was very 1st time that I’ve walked in2 a hotel room, where I did not feel the need to wipe down the room There was no smell

the room was awesome!!Some hotel are clean, but not clean enoughI didn’t feel like I had to burn my clothes if something fell on the floorOverall, If you stay I don’t think you will be disappointed, besides as a bonus there’s always the amusement park across the way 🤗!!!

My boyfriend found this hotel, when there was no availability at the hotel chain he usually books What a quaint little find! I wasn’t sure what to expect when we first arrived, as it is pretty hidden among a somewhat residential area But it was fantastic! Number one most important thing to me is cleanliness! This place is clean! I was impressed, and that’s not easy to do

I would go as far to say that every dollar I’ve spent somewhere else (and we’re talking about decades of 5-star hotels, $200-$300/night), was wasted on rooms that don’t come close to how clean this one felt! You sure can see the difference when a hotel is ran by the very people that have an “interest” in it They are invested, and they treat it accordingly We will visit again!!We even had a skylight in our room…do you realize how nice that is, to get real sunlight from above, in what’s normally a dark hotel room? 😍 Fantastic!! 👍🏼😁

A bit pricey It’s unique The interior is a little weird

Place was very clean The bed was soft and comfortable The room was pretty stuffy without AC We think that they control the temp even though there is a thermostat in the room but we turned it down but it didn’t help any Breakfast was lame with weak coffee Yes, this place is unique and has some character but we didn’t think that it was worth the price We probably wouldn’t stay there again having experienced the place now

Quite a find We quite literally stumbled onto Higher Ground and what a find it is Beautiful accomodations, immaculately clean, comfortable beds, a wonderful night’s sleep, and a facility that is a delight to explore

So tastefully decorated throughout Did I mention breakfast? Home cooked sausage and eggs, OJ, and more And the owners are on site seeing that you are delighted with your stay Very nice, interesting people It’s worth ten stars but, alas, I am limited to just five

You love old and dark rooms? You like small and old TV in your Room? You prefer the slowest elevator in the world? Welcome to Ambassador KC Seriously: One of the worst hotels of the autograph collection Absolutely overpriced

It’s more like an Residence Inn or similar low budget hotels The second star is for the front desk Sorry that I can not rate otherwiseBy the way: I have no idea why I, as a platinum member, was shipped to the old part of the building with a very bad view

We booked a special room for our anniversary and a couple hours before we checked in the a/c went out While we didn’t get to stay in the room we wanted, Arthur and the other front desk person (sorry for forgetting name) went out of there way to make the stay great Nice on site restaurant, have to walk a couple blocks to get to other things to do

Visited the show for my bf’s birthday Had a group show up and we enjoyed the songs and liveliness of the crowd and performer Food was okay and consider you pay about$100 per person right off the bat which includes your choice of entree and the show, a one time visit is okay

Friends had a good time and the space is very limited and with blocking columns, not all parties have the best view of the stage
