We loved Hawaii! We did not love Paia Inn so muchPossibly we chose a very busy time to visit, but Paia Inn felt extremely over-priced and poorly maintained We paid $650/night for two nights, for a very small room

The lock didn’t work without lots of jiggling, there was black mold around the shower-head, which also repeatedly fell out onto my headThe service was very pleasant and efficient The area by the sea was idyllic

Alex McClure

This boutique hotel has fantastic customer service We accidentally booked our room for the wrong date and when we showed up, they were already fully booked for the night Savannah at the front desk called in the owner and they worked hard to pull some strings and find a room for us to stay in that night

It felt like they really went out of their way to help us and I’d recommend this hotel to anyone 🙂

I’m incredibly surprised at these positive reviews Paia Inn was so very disappointing We aren’t particularly fussy travelers and we are very familiar with Hawaii, having gone multiple times, and this place was over $600 a night

We booked far in advance What we got for that money was an extremely disaffected staff of young women in their early 20s who didn’t even give us a cursory tour of the property when we checked in, which is MUCH NEEDED because the place is a labyrinth and the entry and exits and multiple keys are super confusing The room was TINY and didn’t even include even basic comforts–we couldn’t adjust the temperature, the windows didn’t have curtains, no coffee machine (just a knockoff Nespresso in the common area) Bed is nothing special and not particularly niceYou do get a mini-fridge and can use beach chairs The beach access (once you find it) is very prettyAll the staff does is take selfies in mirrors and curate their spotify playlistsI couldn’t believe what you get for $600 a night!!We checked in to another WONDERFUL BnB later that week on Maui (Moana Lani) which was HALF the price per night, included a fully cooked hot breakfast and much better round-the-clock coffee, snacks and fresh fruit, private AC, and all the extras like bicycles, boogie boards, chairs, etcDon’t stay at Paia Inn It’s simply not worth the price

This was hands down the best place I’ve ever stayed! Everyone here is so professional and attentive They bent over backwards to make sure our stay was perfect We loved that they had beach chairs, sand toys, coolers and even ice packs for the coolers for their guests to use

We arrived to fresh flowers all over the room and fresh banana bread The views are amazing and the restaurant was also just as good Stay here! You definitely won’t regret it

Just a fantastic experience for our honeymoon We didn’t want the cookie cutter resort experience and the Inn gave us just what we were looking for – a comfortable and lovely full amenity apartment, a great lanai, excellent beach access, and a quiet and relaxing trip Everything was easy, from parking to dinner reservations next door

The staff were incredibly friendly and we enjoyed just being ‘local’ for ten days on the north side of the island Highly recommend

Peter van Beek

It’s nice that it’s more isolated which a positive we felt Staff were so friendly and great The Banyan Tree was average at best and service wasn’t great

Overall expected so much more The lounge is solid with drinks and food and staff was great By far the worst of 3 places we stayed in Hawaii The valet was great although sometimes took a while and one day left on side where slippery and someone fell One hot tub never seemed to get warmIt needs updates I get it’s set back more from beach which is ok but just needed more Food and drinks close way too early too Spa was booked up Just overall dated and not a Ritz quality Great on helping with transportation and helping at valet I don’t think I’d return overall it was nice but not what you expected and pay for itA few updates and changes I’d go again

Bmore Mike

I want to give 5 stars but issue 2nd night with waiter at dinner Otherwise service was excellent! Shout-outs to Margy at the front desk, Z at the breakfast restaurant, & Al for the delicious omelets served with a smile (please get that man new pans!) Service was impeccable

Location is nice if you want to get away from the crowd but 30 minutes or more to most attractions However, there’s a great beach steps away from the property along with a nice trail

Charra Hammett

We stayed here for 4 days in January 2022 and had an AMAZING time The staff greeted us with leis and fresh drinks before we even walked in the door We had an ocean view room overlooking the golf course with incredibly beautiful views

The staff was exemplary and helpful The burger shack & banyan tree both had amazing food and the pool was spectacular The beach was also amazing and you could see whales breaching from allAround Napili beach was 3 minutes away with the BEST snorkeling and everything we wanted to do was close Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Thank you Maui Coast for making our stay in Kihei so enjoyable! ALL of the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful The room was clean, lovely and spacious enough for our family of 4 The location is perfect with a beautiful beach right across the street

The cafe and restaurant are excellent as well Maui Coast was also extremely gracious in accommodating us when our flight canceled last minute and our trip was delayed by a day Thank you! We’ll definitely be back!

I had a wonderful stay at Maui Coast hotel for ten nights The location is absolutely superb, the rooms spacious and clean, and I enjoyed the laid-back and friendly atmosphere The hotel’s car parking availability is generous

This was a pretty good place to stay for our Maui vacation The room that we had wasn’t too special Much like a normal hotel room

We just had a sink, mini fridge, and microwave, but I know the suites had a full kitchen It was affordable and the grounds were really nice It’s also just across from the beach so we did plenty of walking there Really nice we didn’t have to drive to it all the time The pools are also nice, but nothing too special

Cocacola Bear12 (Gabriel agnew)

Outstanding location, everything is nearby and the beach is directly across the street Lots of food nearby, shops, desert’s, board and scuba rentals, everything you’d want The building is really nice, the open air is extremely cool

The hot tub and the pool are nice (especially at night) and you can meet a lot of cool people The hotel has absolute beautiful views and it was a really clean room All the normal things of a hotel room are there, just wish they had more beds of some sort AC works nice, there’s a TV and a PlayStation with it nice employees, a place to grill and barbecue, kitchen, and while this isn’t the fanciest hotel, this is Hawaii and you shouldn’t be here all the time It has everything you need and is pretty nice a 10/10 in my book, I could literally live in there

Cindy Best

Beautiful condo, well decorated and pretty well stocked We had to buy laundry soap for the washer, batteries for the air conditioner and no garbage bags were supplied either But there were so many other anemities that made up for all that

Our second time in Kihei, first at Maui banyan much better 😀 👍 Would stay here again definitely

We absolutely adored your resort! It had everything we needed, no touch left unnoticed! There were hangers (a ton) for our clothes, a washer/dryer, plenty of towels, full kitchen with every utensil you could need, and they are located within a short walk of the TOP 3 BEACHES to snorkel and relax at! We greatly appreciated the hospitality the employees showed to us in getting our room situation fixed (since our original booking was canceled via a third party without our knowledge) Would recommend your facility 10 out of 10 times!

Michelle White

Please AVOID this hotel AT ALL COSTS! We found cockroaches in the kitchen, spiders in the sleeping area, and a dead gecko in the closet Additionally, many surfaces such as the windows, side tables, and tv were covered in thick dust that seem to signify the place had not been dusted/cleaned in agesWhen we called the main office during business hours when we were away from the hotel but needed to ask the office a question, no one picked up the phone- we tried to call the office 3 times during business hours

Lastly, they charged us an additional “resort fee” after we checked out that we had not been previously informed of (we left the hotel cleaner than they gave it to us) NOT CLEAN and terrible management

We stayed here around 4 years ago and still speak fondly of this special place It’s a little off the beaten path and feels like a little piece of authentic Hawaii The simple pool overlooks a magical view

The grounds are quaint and full or beautiful flowers and vegetation We stayed in the main house and shared the kitchen with our yoga crew It was such a wonderful experience We hope to go back sooner rather than later!!!

Having read recent reviews of construction and maybe the hotel going down hill, that wasn’t our experience at all The construction was unobtrusive and quiet – and you have to be able to update the hotel sometime, so understandable too The service was impeccable from checking, to the room hostess, to checking with us to see if we needed anything

It was better service than we have experienced at any resort, especially since the pandemic began The hotel grounds were amazing, as always The room had been updated and was spacious and comfortable We loved our stay

Christine Griffiths

Love this resort! We have stayed here three times now and will definitely be back Our first time we stayed here it was on our honeymoon, the second time we came back with our new little daughter, and this third time we came again as a family, along with my brother and his girlfriend This resort is great for couples and for families

You cannot go wrong hereI was a little bummed upon arrival to discover the main lobby and certain areas of the hotel (including the spa) are under construction, but management was accommodating and it did not terribly interrupt our relaxing timeThe pools are fabulous and the service is five star Mike, one of the servers at the pool, is our favorite He has worked at the resort for years and really makes our trip Many of the staff have worked at this resort for years The longevity of the employees really adds to the experience as a repeat guestI cannot wait to return after the construction is complete I am certain it will be amazing!

Frederick Mansfield

Great location, though the entrance could be a bit more obvious It’s clearly an aging hotel that is currently undergoing a huge multi-year renovation The construction was not obtrusive but I am bummed I missed the main bar in the middle (turtle head)

I am sure it will be amazing once finishedMajor highlights: luau Very cool and entertaining Their beach was very clean as wellMy only major complaint, which did affect our visit, is the walls were very thin You could hear regular conversation through the connecting doors and very easily hear foot steps above us A hotel of this quality should not have these issues As I said in the beginning, an aging hotel that needs updating, which I am happy they are doing The price was definitely higher than we would have liked for the quality of the hotel roomsWould I go back? Yes…AFTER the renovation is completeTook a start off for quality:price ratio

I have been staying here for a long time If you stay for a few nights you for sure will love it I’m sure!Perfect stay if you aren’t looking for the full resort experience however, this place has a great property, fun pool and easy access to the beach It was a perfect place for our family of 4 to extend our Maui trip and manage cost Hula dancing on Wednesday with live music at the pool was a highlight!

ZESTY ZESTY

This facility overall is adequate at best The grounds are pleasant but not overly luxurious, the pool is small as is the gym There are no vending machines or stores within an easy walk

Our two bedroom unit was $650 a night and although they charge a $580 cleaning fee it wasn’t as clean as it could be, little bit of mold in the shower, some windows a little streaked Kitchen cabinets and Furniture a bit worn and out-of-date But it was an easy walk to the nice beaches across the street, fabulous sunsets and everything else that Kihei has to offer There are dozens of condo complexes in Kihei and next time I think I’ll shop around a little further

Trushar Rao

Great resort, staff, location, and service Be aware of the hidden charges that come with this condo I had to pay an extra $35 per night as a “cleaning fee”, which was not stated when I booked my stay with Expedia

The owner of the condo was nice enough to communicate before and after my stay I would have given a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the hidden charges

Absolutely horrible place Go somewhere elseAs others have said, no staff on site after 5pm, which is annoying, but not even close to the reason this place is awful

Food? None Drinks? None Convenience store listed on their site? Nope, closed permanently Restaurant? Nope, closed permanently Ice machine, no vending machines, noThe nearest restaurant/food is over a mile away I had to go to Days Inn next door multiple times just to buy some waterOne of the elevators (of two) was under repair, so people frequently had to wait up to three full trips before they could ride it to their rooms (housekeeping would also use it with their carts, preventing many people from getting in the small elevator) Not sure what housekeeping was doing all the time though, since they only clean rooms every 3 daysOn our last day, they put a sign up in the lobby, announcing they were doing renovations on the room immediately above ours THAT DAY So my 1yo baby is woken up from their nap by the sounds of electric saws and grinding and hammering Not exactly a relaxing time

Brian Tutterow

We stayed in the hotel rooms Nice, relatively inexpensive rooms Clean, no frills and partial ocean views are fantastic from upper floors

Wind can howl a bit on 8th floor but dies down after dark Location is great with beaches to the south and a nature trail to the north Saw several turtles in the waters below the rooms and one on land along the trail

Kevin Ta

Friendly staff and security, plenty of parking and extremely close to the beach I sympathize with staff as they seem to be doing the best they can with limited staffingNoticed there was a bobby pin on our bed, cockroach by our sofa and a dirty comforter

Resort photos are not accurateLeft a voice message for new linens which have been unanswered Front desk closes at 5:30pm Resort falling short of what we expected for $700+ a night

AVOID AT ALL COSTSI had a reservation at the Maui Banyan for two nights this month At 330am on the first night of my stay the fire alarm/carbon monoxide alarm started going off and I woke up to feel myself tight chested and dizzy When I turned on the bedside light, I woke up to find two cockroaches on my bed and later I found three more in the kitchen

It probably should have been a warning sign that when I walked in my unit there was a sign saying the 5 dates for scheduled bug extermination in August alone After calling the after hours line, the security and the front desk, this hotel is still holding me liable for both night of the stay and has been utterly unresponsive and uncaring to the unsanitary and unsafe conditions of their hotel Avoid this location, despite the pretty pictures, and find yourself a safe and clean spot elsewhere with a management company that cares about your concerns

Unreachable staff made it difficult to check in So what no one tells you is that there’s only check-in available from 9:00 to 5:00 pm

if you arrive after these hours, you have to contact a third party to check in There was no way of knowing this until we just called security to ask what we should do after driving around the complex for about 30 minutes The third party did their best But had very limited knowledge of the resort, so couldn’t tell you exactly how to get to our unit or any of the amenities of the area They can only tell you how to get a key and then advise you to call the front desk when the front desk is open Super disappointed so far in this rather expensive resort

The property itself is a beautiful one It is on the northeastern part of the island which makes it rather secluded The property is well maintained

However, the rooms are outdated and in need of significant improvements As seen in the pictures, there are tiles that are cracked, paint that is crusting and cabinets that need to be repairedThe LCD TV was placed crooked in a smaller TV stand, meant for the old picture tube TVsDue to COVID, there was absolutely no service in the room, which is understandable However, if the service was desired, there was an extra charge for it—> this is a little fishy, since hotel rooms generally come with free service at least once One would imagine that for $575 per night, there could be arrangements for a room clean up service at least once every few days

I’ll start by saying, I booked this through hotwire they charged my card immediately when I booked and noted that I would be charged an additional $90 at check-in for resort fees when I got to the front desk to check in, she immediately gave me an invoice for an additional $419! she said it was cleaning charges

I let her know that I was not aware and that I was only told about the $90 fee she said there was no way that they would be willing to “absorb” that cost She was super unapologetic and offered not solutionI am a local on Maui, and had my two kids in the car I told her I couldn’t pay another $400+ on top of the HUGE amount I had already paid for the rooms now, two nights at a condo was going to be well over $1000?! again, very unempathetic and just acted like she didn’t care luckily, I was able to get a refund and drive away, but what if I was a tourist who was checking in and had no other place lined up? I just wanted to make people aware before they book, come out here and are unexpectedly hit with a huge fee we ended up driving to the Napili Kai, and it was, hands down, one of the best places I’ve stayed! please do your research so you aren’t surprised when you arrive!

This is a nice resort with good amenities I don’t know what all the rooms are like but some can be dated, however the rooms are very spacious Good for families with kids

The pool is very large and has a hot tub Although you have to be 18plus for the hot tub There is a tennis court, shuffle board and a mini golf on the property You can even get borrow all the equipment at the office which is awesome that you don’t have to bring or buy your own The property is across the street from the beach Highly recommend this resort for families with kids

From the beginning of my family’s stay until the very end, this resort was nothing short of spectacular The front desk staff and General Manager, Mr Costa, were highly professional; respectful; and courteous with the Maui hospitality you only read about in travel brochures

They saw to our every need even allowing my wife to store medication in their office refrigerator until our suite was ready Upon our return, our luggage was taken to our suite with no questions asked The suite was spacious, clean, and exceeded our expectations in every way with all the amenities of a home Their pool and jacuzzi were awesome and provided for long lazy afternoons of rest and relaxation If you stay here, please ask for Connie, the superb concierge who attended to all of our vacation needs She went above and beyond for my family in every sense of the word from finding my daughter a swim “hat” to booking my family’s helicopter tour To the entire staff; Connie; and Mr Costa, thanks from our family for a wonderful vacation experience We will recommend your hotel to anyone coming for a vacation on the Island of Maui Mahalo!

The space was bigger than what I expected I booked a 1 bedroom with sofa bed but I didn’t expect a loft with an additional queen bed and a daybed with pull out bed So our family of 4 each had our own bed

The condo was also well equipped with kitchen items, beach items, floaties for the pool, umbrellas, mats, drink cooler I don’t believe all units are the same as it seems we were in one of the time share units and the owner was very thoughtful Decor and furnishing was more modern than most pictures I would definitely request for unit 016 again Mahalo!

My husband and I stayed 5 nights here on a Points + Cash redemption in a partial ocean view king room We loved every second of our stay!!! We thought the value of upgrading our room to have an ocean view was well worth it, and we were lucky to have our balcony on the ground floor for easy access to the poolThe staff at the hotel are all incredibly kind and responsive

I told them we were celebrating a milestone at my husbands job, and we were welcomed to our room with a bottle of champagne and a congratulatory dessert! It was such a nice treat and made us feel so special! As a Platinum elite member, we chose the breakfast option as our benefit There are a couple places to get your coffee, pastry, and fruit cup for that benefit, but we found the Starbucks to have the best options/variety You get a tall drink of your choice and a pastry like pumpkin bread off their menu options We did not receive a room upgrade, which I politely requested via email before hand as a Platinum member, so I think that’s kind of just how it goes at this resort, but we are only one data point! The rest of the resort amenities, variety of pools, and proximity to the beach are all amazing and a great tribute to why this hotel was a great choice for newlywed couples, families, and older couples alike The one minor thing that this hotel lacked compared to others in the area was direct beachfront access (5 minute walk either direction, with complementary beach chairs on Wailea beach), but the trade off in my opinion is better views of the ocean from the rooms and the pools! All in all, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend it to anyone!!!

Stayed here on points, booked a garden view room and got upgraded to ocean view, which was amazing Very welcoming and attentive staff, and we enjoyed our welcome drinks and the poolside bar The infinity pool is spectacular, we spent a majority of our day just looking at the ocean from the pool

Probably would not be able to justify staying here paying cash (rates were $1500+/night when we visited), but was definitely worth it on points, and would be worth it if you found some off-season deals

Booked this place by friend’s recommendation Honestly, should have stayed at four seasonsThe place is overpriced for what it is

The buildings are so far from each other and feel like summer camp rather than a luxury hotelThe first red flag was when I called the front desk to book a dinner reservation, and the gentleman told me to go online and book it “Great” customer serviceWhen we arrived the front desk said they got us an amazing roomWhen we walked in, the AC sounded like a tractor, we had to fight with them to get transferredInstead of offering an apology, we felt they just gave us the worst room they hadRooms are not pretty whatsoever, I really didn’t enjoy being insideThe whole property is not maintained well Trash everywhere, I wouldn’t risk to eat in those restaurants Even Starbucks looked disgustingThe only thing we enjoyed was the infinity poolThis hotel should be $400 a night tops Definitely would pay extra $300 to be at four seasons

I have been coming here for years If you stay for a few nights you for sure won’t regret itMy husband and I, stayed here yesterday last minute due to having to leave our honeymoon with an emergency at home Very accommodating hotel Offered shuttle service from the airport Had the best service from the gentleman that worked the bar/restaurant area inside the hotel Very clean hotel and rooms Would absolutely stay again

This hotel has an excellent location near the airport (especially if you have an early flight the next day), the rooms are clean, comfortable and well-priced and it is also super-convenient to all of the shopping and food trucks in Kahului However, the best reason to stay here is the excellent customer service The staff and management is efficient, accommodating and very professional

They helped me with a big scheduling/technical error and handled it in the most professional and respectful manner I will definitely stay here again and customer services like this is why I am a loyal Marriott Bonvoy customer!!!

Very welcoming, super clean hotel Was nice to stay there for 2 nights before our resort time began Bed very comfortable and shower amenities have a good smell

Only uncomfortable thing was the couch but those are typical of Courtyard’s and therefore has nothing to do with the comfort of this hotel I recommend this hotelI

Stayed here with my wife for our honeymoon, and we loved the hotel! The facility was beautiful, the on-site restaurants had great menus along with delicious food, and the staff were accommodating and friendly Our room was amazing and offered a fantastic view The few pools on site were the perfect size and were very relaxing to sit at during the day

During our stay, we took advantage of many of the perks of the hotel, including the guided kayak tour, mixology class, and stand up paddle boarding lessons We also attended the Luau offered by the hotel, and it was such a unique and special experience, while also being entertaining and enjoyable Each morning we went to breakfast at the main restaurant, and the food and service were 5-star! The only two notable negatives were that everything is very expensive and I think the overall maintenance of the hotel, especially the exterior, could be improved Overall, we had a phenomenal experience and if we are ever in Maui again, I have a feeling that we will be staying here again I highly recommend the hotel!

Absolutely gorgeous Amazing grounds, beautiful pools, great food Nothing to complain about

As I was at the bar, a band started setting up and I was worried that they would be too loud, but they were perfect and the lead singer was very attractive Great vibes from the band, I believe the bar has live music often Perfect place to watch the sunset
