My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend We wanted to be within walking distance to all the places we wanted to visit without the cost of staying in the center of the French Quarter We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back

The room was clean and we loved the atmosphere Staff (Michelle) was so friendly and accommodating She was patient in answering all of our questions and made us feel so welcome! The outer gate is locked at night so we felt safe and comfortable and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go Highly recommend!

Amanda Anderson

I picked this place because I didn’t want a traditional hotel and I was happy I did When we arrived I was concerned by its location But in the end our vehicle was unharmed and we felt safe

The décor in the lobby is classic and the room (Louis Armstrong Suite) was beautiful I loved having our own balcony and the AC was great during the heat wave Very comfortable beds and pillows The room was clean with the exception of the cockroach that came inafter a bit we were able to remove itThe pool was refreshing and great to cool off in the evening Everything about the place was well worth it and I would stay here again and will recommend to my friends Within walking distance of the french market and we only used vehicle when we went further than a few miles away

Kyle Crawford

We stayed here for the pool and were satisfied on that count Aside from that, the room was rough around the edges in terms of decor and quality We were unable to check in on time, because the cleaning crew had not finished the room

We were woken up early by the cleaning crew entering our room on the day of our checkout, despite paying extra for a late check out I don’t assign blame to the cleaning crew, but rather the hotel management Please do better, Rathbone, and respect the prestige of the buildings of which you are stewards

Warm and friendly staff Hotel smells clean and housekeeping appears busy daily We did end up with a 2 inch cockroach in the room on day 4, which scared kids as it crawled on one at bedtime

Staff did not seem too concerned as it is New Orleans Found a baby roach in the bathroom the next day Pool is small but a great spot to cool off Small but effective gym access 24/7 Breakfast is great with wonderful staff and plenty of options from breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, Danish, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit to cereal and bagels

Myrere randall

I visited this location for my 51st Birthday/girls trip celebration themed “NO WORRIES and NO CARES

” and that’s just what happened The staff made this experience one of the most memorable birthdays for me and my crew of 8 ALL the staff members were marvelous but ERICA, IVY, GWENETH and JOANN stood out the most! There was nothing they couldn’t help us with From finding activities, breakfast assistance and just plain old Southern New Orleans hospitality, these ladies rocked!!!!! The rooms were great! Clean and fresh smelling Housekeeping was available upon every request No waiting or searching for extra towels and pillows Microwave and fridge area was very clean Thanks I would definitely recommend this location and look foward to staying again!!!

Anutha Bubba

I understand its NO, its not cheap to get these rooms

But theyre very small and it had the odor of a hot room when we walked in Other rooms have people smoking weed and that stench wafts into the room through the vents and ac The price is high but i know where we are, just wish the quality of the room and experience was better and more equivalent to the price I will definitely plan farther out to ensure we get a good hotel next time

Victoria Jones

Check-in was easy and all details were emailed to me the morning of our arrival The decor is modern and spacious and it was perfect for my family The only negative is that there was a bit of hair inside of the bedsheets and I had to throughly inspect/disinfect the beds to remove the traces of hair

I would simply recommend that more emphasis is placed on hair removal during cleaning However, once the hair issue was resolved, my family and I enjoyed our stay and felt comfortable during our stay

Monique DARPY

Very nice apartments Very well located in the business district just a few blocks away from French square Nicely decorated

Only critic the kitchen was poorly equipped in utensils not enough plates, silverware, bowls, no potholders to remove things from the oven and the washing machine only worked on hot water and did not spin well

Joseph Raczynski

Much better than expected Modern, clean rooms living inside a historic building Brick exposed, open, and very well appointed

One semi challenge is the noise from the hallways to the rooms Everything seems to carry into the units, way more than you would think Also, oddly, you can feel the footfalls of people in the hallways while on your couch The boards from the floors must run across the entire building They’ve tried to compensate for this with soft flooring in the hallways

This place is a well kept secret Although they don’t have an in house kitchen, but it’s close enough to major restaurants and food placesI thin their decor is just incredible, ambiance is relaxing, everyone is genuinely having a good time

The BEST thing is their STAFF, super chill, helpful, nice and never rush you They care about how comfortable your stay is There was an issue with the TV in the original room they put us in, they then moved us to a different roomChris, Andrew (Andy), Reggie (manager) are incredible human beings They get what it’s like to be in the hospitality industry and always put you at easeWhen you’re visiting a place you need a comfy and safe stay so you can truly enjoy the experience They just GET ITDefinitely going back next time we’re in town Kudos to you guys, keep up the good vibes The world needs it

Dante Sprott

I don’t know where to start The hotel was very accommodating to all our needs The staff was very friendly and welcoming

Made sure you were satisfied From loaning out umbrellas, to food suggestions, which to me made a big difference in the stay My only suggestion is it could use minor touch ups Coming up from the lobby I expected slightly more from the room That’s just me being picky Oh the bar staff was excellent!

Sarah Franklin

We found the pictures on the website to paint a much nicer picture than what we actually got The lobby is nice with a cute bar but our room felt kind of dingy, the sheets were thin, and the spring mattress was a little worse than our mattress at home Just felt kind of small and the bathroom was fine I just expected more because of the online photos

All the staff was super nice though!

Molly Hill

A beautiful hotel conveniently located at the edge of the French Quarter Within walking distance of most everything but still quiet The courtyard was lovely too

The reasons I’m not giving a full rating are:1 Water pressure was hit or miss so showering and even washing our hands was occasionally frustrating At one point it was so low though that it seemed our toilet had clogged but it just couldn’t flush because of the low pressure When we asked for a plunger it should be noted that the woman who helped us offered incredible service2 The pool looked rather dingy Despite it being February and in an open courtyard, I would’ve wanted to try it out (heated saltwater) but it looked less than clean3 The heat/AC barely worked if at all4 Despite the signs posted on the lobby doors asking for everyone to wear masks inside, the front desk staff did not wear masks most of the timeStill, we had a nice stay overall and I might book it again anyways if mostly for the location

Johnny L

Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any stay They compare countless booking websites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the most well known in the area

I have been staying here for years If you stay for a few nights you will love it I’m sure!I have no complaints about this hotel It’s 2 blocks from Bourbon St, it’s an older hotel and it shows, but that doesn’t take away from the comfort of the rooms and hospitality of the staff The valet, Cory, was extremely nice and helpful We arrived earlier than check-in time, but he helped unload our luggage and kept it until our room was ready He parked the car while we explored the French Quarter on foot When we checked in a few hours later, our bags were in the room already It was a great experience and if I ever visit New Orleans again, this is where I’ll stay

shucky ducky

Friendly staff, great location, great on property entertainment and bar Quick walk to bourbon street which you can see from the hotel entrance Reggae bar located at end of street not even a one minute walk, also an Irish pub located directly on the corner across the street from the hotel perfect locations

The location of this hotel was perfect for Bourbon Street fun without all the loudPartying when you ready to call it a night The only thing I did not like about the hotel was the somewhat old smell which was to be expected, pictures did not totally depict the hotel as I expected The hotel room was a double however it was actually small/ tight, I did have a view of the pool area, the windows however did not open I’m guessing due to safety You are required to pay deposit which is normal and if you choose there is valet on the property which I believe is $48 a night or when you check out they can just take it from your hotel deposit I stayed on the second floor and used the elevators without any issues except for the scary sound, which caused me to take the stairs to my second floor room I was actually looking for a hotel that truly had decorations of the New Orleans type feel which I did not get from this hotel If I had to visit again I would not stay at this location, I personally think that you’re paying more for location because it did not offer any quality This is my opinion of my stay, I wish you all the best doing your visit here

I really liked this hotel- it definitely exceeded my expectations The lobby area and bar were fun with a quirky yet welcoming vibe-when we checked in you can tell that the guests there were definitely enjoying their stay and we were met with friendliness and a party atmosphere-the room itself ( which was a spacious suite) was quiet and well appointed- the only thing missing was a hook in the bathroom to hang a towel on and also a rubber bath mat for the tubBed was super comfortable and I really have no complaints

In fact I was so surprised to find out that a bountiful breakfast including hot items and huge bakery fresh muffins was includedI have been to many different hotels in Nee Orleans but I think I just found my new favorite-I will be back!!!

Michael Flagg

I will admit my wife booked this location I used to travel a lot for work and stayed at the big national chains Since this was a birthday trip for her I let her choose

She did her research and picked out a great property Nice old school vibe Marion who greeted us and was our go-to person for our stay was excellent Top notch restaurant recommendations, made sure we had transportation set up to go back to the airport on Monday Room was spacious and clean Love the little touches like a record player and jazz records in the room Had a blast at the bar each evening The young ladies that were bartending were a blast and mixed some excellent cocktails We would definitely return!

Dee Griff

This gorgeous hotel with large suites, was a good choice Although I travel with cleaning supplies, I was extremely disappointed to see a used bar of soap and a bottle of shampoo still in the shower These two things let me know that I needed to sanitize and wipe down all the surfaces in the room

Hotel staff was very pleasant, but masks were not worn by front desk staff, another disappointment Other than that, I had a fairly pleasant stay

I never received my email review but I definitely wanted to leave one This was one of the BEST hotel stays I’ve had in while The staff were extremely personal and professional

The gentleman that checked us in upgraded us to a larger corner room with a view The rooms are spacious and clean The art in the lobby is great for pictures and the bartenders are experienced and friendly The only downside is that you can’t charge food from the Fogo Steakhouse on the property to the room and earn points towards it Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel during your next visit to NOLA Only a 2 minute walk to bourbon street Prime location and luxury experience

Ashley Ritch

We had a wonderful stay at JW in New Orleans! It was a perfect central location to everything 2 minute walk to Bourbon Street, lots of great restaurants and shopping nearby Loved the added security by having to scan your room key to get into back entrance on Canal Street, and to get up to your floor on the elevator

Room was very nice & clean Will definitely be back!

This hotel was the perfect choice! The staff was outstanding and made you feel at home! I want to take the time to thank Brittany at the front desk She was incredibly sweet and was a huge part of making out trip great Also, the bartenders and servers at the rooftop lounge we amazing as well

When thinking of a place to stay in NOLA, the Virgin Hotel should be the only place you consider It was extremely clean had great events and great drinks I mean, you really cannot go wrong if you choose to stay here! You will not be sorry

Brooks Roberts

WOW! I have probably stayed at over 90% of the 4+ star hotels I’d New Orleans and the Virgin is by far my new favorite spot Valet parking was super fast and easy The front desk staff were super friendly and courteous

They talked to my son and joked with him while I was checking in Tina, a Mississippi girl, was amazing! The hotel lobby and coffee bar are so cool The atmosphere makes you want to stay at the hotel and hang out all day The bar in the lobby as well as the bar at the rooftop pool was great The views from the rooftop pool and bar are some of the best in the city And even though the late July heat was brutal, it was very pleasant on the top of the building with breeze and fans blowing The room was spacious, hip, and very clean The automated blinds with controls next to the bed made for a very special touch The stocked mini bar and fridge full of beer or something that you don’t see in many hotels these days The shower was 10 out of 10, the bed and pillows were great, and the TV selection was excellent I honestly don’t have a single negative thing to say about this hotel Not only will I stay here from now on when I come to New Orleans, but I will seek out virgin hotels wherever I travel from now on I highly recommend this hotel!

diane bowers

My family and I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend for a family trip The room was gorgeous – extremely clean and comfortable The hotel is in a prime spot downtown, which allowed us to walk to all of our scheduled events and tours

We loved the convenience of that The valet parking staff were great The on-line restaurant was delicious, but definitely on the pricey side You get the quality of good you pay for though! The only (minor) downside was that there were not many amenities for kids This is a great hotel for couples or business professionals to visit

We stayed at the Grand Victorian just before Christmas to celebrate our wedding anniversary Making our reservation was easily done online and the arrangements to arrive and check in were accomplished perfectly The innkeeper Hoyt was genial and well informed and we enjoyed our conversations with him

He was well versed in the history of the Grand Victorian and we enjoyed learning about this stately mansion Our room was very well appointed and comfortable The bed was like a cloud and the bedding was luxurious The bath area was large and well equipped with linen and soaps We made good use of the downstairs sitting room which afforded a great view of Saint Charles Avenue The Grand Victorian sits in a perfect location for dining, shopping and of course the streetcar Our stay was a complete and total delight and the included breakfast every morning was a joy and a wonderful way to start the day Stay here, you won’t regret it

My husband and I visited NOLA for the first time and had an incredible experience! Our stay at the Grand Victorian served to enhance our vacation Bonnie, the innkeeper and staff welcomed us warmly and put out breakfasts with fresh fruit, tasty hot entrees and an assortment of yogurts and cereals We stayed in the beautiful Shadows room with its Old World charm

The high ceiling room is beautifully decorated, and the bed quite comfortable After a full day discovering NOLA my husband and I would spend tranquil evenings at the upstairs balcony with a view to St Charles StreetThe location is terrific The streetcar line to the French Quarter is literally right across the street! And the return on the streetcar leaves you right in front of the Grand Victorian! It cannot get more convenient than that! Bonnie helped us with streetcar passes, restaurants, sightseeing, and a wealth of useful information On our last evening in NOLA Bonnie recommended we eat at Muriel’s by the St Louis church (another must see recommended by Bonnie) and was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was! If you eat there you have to visit the Séance Rooms upstairs! The Grand Victorian is highly recommended!

Bradley Brown

We loved our stay at the Grand Victorian Bed & Breakfast It is a beautifully restored property, with no expense spared It is located in the wonderful Garden District, and right near the Street Cars which take you everywhere

Our host Bonnie was so accommodating and helpful Not only with giving us a good understanding of our B&B, but working with us before our visit and during to ensure our stay in New Orleans was a successA real highlight which Bonnie recommended was the Garden District Tour we took (which started right at our accommodation Also dinner at Commander’s Palace which is a 5 minute walk was outstandingWe could not more highly recommend an accommodation

Kate Blocker

The location is fantastic, but the rooms themselves could use a bit of updating Water temp was hard to regulate, no fan in the bathroom to help with steam We couldn’t get coffee because despite having a Keurig in our room, the hotel didn’t carry K cups

But service was always kind and helpful (as much as they could be) and it was easy to walk to lots of great spots around the area High price, but I guess that’s to be expected in downtown NOLA

Stephanie Blissett

Hotel is pretty good, the location is superb Close to the convention center and endless bars and restaurants to choose from Staff is friendly and eager to help

Pool is closed due to hurricane damage from the previous season, but guests can use the pool at the other Marriott nearby Great property overall, there’s a gym, onsite bar/ restaurant & art gallery Also bonus, there’s a few indoor courtyards for lounging

This place is a gem I live a block away and I didn’t even know it was a hotel I had to vacate my abode for a series of repairs and was fortunate enough to find this boutique hotel

It hits all of my sweetspots: modern, minimalist design; hammered copper; abstract surrealist artwork and completely private I didn’t see another guest the entire time The area is crawling with awesome things to eat and if you need a local watering hole might I recommend the bar at the International House on Camp/Gravier You might not even know you’re in New Orleans Stop by Laurel Oak for dinner and you’ll have had all the good things in one night if you ask me all within a city block

C F

Absolutely loved this place! I travel frequently and this hotel has become one of my favorites I refer to it as the secret hotel because it’s almost invisible to the eye The bathrooms are wonderful with the multi shower head and deep soaking tub

Love the open concept loft I booked online under the impression I was staying in the room with the bathtub When I arrived, I did not have the tub and concierge happily changed me to a room that did At 3 am I was hungry and they gave me a menu to a place that delivered late night! The security is great as they lock their doors at night and you have to be let in by an employee My new favorite NOLA hotel!

Love this boutique hotel!! I heard about it while watching an old episode of Anthony Bourdain’s show on Netflix So naturally when I came to NOLA I booked here! We booked the king artist room but when we got here we were upgraded to the penthouse The room was stunning! I loved the vibe and the concrete floors

Bathtub is incredible and nice to have a balcony! Even the elevator was cool, and the bathrooms in the lobby!! Staff was so friendly and welcoming We didn’t use valet, and instead parked in a lot at the corner of Camp and Gravier which was $60 for 48 hours (cheaper than valet) High ceilings were awesome and so was the ceiling fan an added bonus! Location is perfect, just a short walk to Canal Street Lots of choices for food in the area and not far to walk to the French Quarter My only complaint is the shower (no door and open which I’m fine with but the two shower heads wouldn’t move and just sprayed everywhere- not ideal for washing my hair and rinsing it) and the plumbing seemed clogged sink and tub were slow to drain

We have stayed here a couple weekends over the last couple of months This place is very nice and the staff is attentive! The problem is the people who live here!! They think they own the place There is an old couple that has been here every time we’ve come and they are so rude!! Washing clothes they come in huffing and puffing like we are in the way

Breakfast, the stare you down cause she’s taking plates and plates of food back to their room!! We go up and ask for biscuits, 10 minutes…we turn the old lady goes into the back door and comes out with a plate full of biscuits for their room for 2 people!!! They are not good for your business

Beware of front desk staffing issues/poor customer service, and the shuttle does not run at the hours they claim it does When I called before making the reservation, the front desk gentleman told me it ran much different hours than it does in reality Front desk staff also laughed at us when we called from the airport to ask about the shuttle–as if we should know it wasn’t running at that time– zero customer service

Also, when I asked to speak to the supervisor or person in charge either at check in or the following morning, I was told that no one is in charge in evenings or weekends so there was no one available Very poor experience, would not recommend

SMELLY Those rooms are not cleaned My initial room’s bathroom smelled like pee was on the floor

Went to the front desk They changed the room Next one had an overwhelming sweaty feet and corn chip smell as soon as I opened the door This is what I got after making a 10 hour drive and then not being able to check me in for almost an hour My job was paying for this stay as a part of a corporate relocation while I waited for my furniture to arrive I would rather sleep on an air mattress in my empty apartment I left I don’t have the patience for that at 12:30 AM

The four of us had a great stay at the Hubbard Mansion The mansion is beautiful The breakfast was outstanding, and the location is very convenient to many things in NOLA

The staff were also super nice and helpful The prices are much more competitive than other B&Bs in the area, and I’m not exactly sure why We will most likely be staying here again during our next New Orleans trip,

I wanted to do something more intimate for Valentines day so after doing some research I found this hidden gem Hubbard Maison was everything we wanted the 19 century decor, history , and prime location (close to the downtown but far enough from the crowds ) We lucked up and had the estate all to ourselves that weekend and we also had the chance to meet Mr

Hubbard himself , such an honor It’s killing me I can’t remember the young lady’s name that check us in , however she was amazing, kind , anything we need she took care of it , very accommodating We didn’t get a chance to try breakfast, we couldn’t get up in time 😝😍 We will definitely stay here again and recommend to everyone visiting Thanks for having us !

This was the second time I have stayed at the Gentry House and I truly can imagine my experience of New Orleans any differently This family business is something remarkable First time was with my fiance in 2015 when Andrew’s father was running the business and this most recent time in 2019 was a girls trip with Andrew running the business

The hospitality that the Andrew and his wife give is magical, they have such a cute charming family They are so friendly and helpful to make you feel so welcome, especially with the fresh delivered croissants EVERY morning These two never skip a beat to make you feel right at home The building has so much history and charm, exactly what you want to experience for your stay inside the french quarter Its in a perfect location of the quarter right on St Ann a few blocks from Bourbon, Royal, and Jackson Square I cannot wait to stay here once again this next time I’m in New Orleans, I honestly cannot imagine staying anywhere else

Would recommend anyone looking for a really great price and unbeatable location convenient to everything Bourbon St to stay here The staff was totally lovely, the room (we stayed in the St Ann) was massive and CLEAN, the pastries were so delicious, AND they have the nicest dog that lives there with the owners! 10/10 would stay at Gentry House again the next time we are in New Orleans Thank you for being fabulous hosts!!

We stayed at the gentry house for our first trip ever to New Orleans It was the perfect experience The cost was better than hotels and the location was ideal walking distance to almost everything

The customer service along with the peaceful escape from the chaos of the French quarter was worth every penny It really did feel like a home away from homeI highly recommend staying here to anyone considering a trip to New Orleans Even while relaxing in your room it still feels like your are getting the Louisiana experience

Really nice hotel with beautiful interior and tech featuresWe had a fantastic huge apartment with terrace, and lots of windows, for a reasonable priceThe room had an interactive local guide with suggestions to restaurants and attractions

Super staff always helpful and smilingClose to good restaurants andSome rooms are without windowsThe pool area could need some attention

Be careful… We read previous reviews on various sites regarding extra charges which are not mentioned prior to reservations being made We read EVERYTHING and decided to book We later got an email saying they were going to charges us for our two young sons… an extra $25 a day, per day

It could have amounted to costing more than $200 extra And the charges were definitely an added charge because we listed our sons ages upon booking I will say they were nice enough to reach out and advise us of the charge prior to our arrival so for that reason I gave 2 stars Wish we could have stayed but it was pretty astronomical with the added fees

REACH PROGRAM

This place was incredible! It had a pool, gym & was pet friendly for my Rottweiler which most places are not Close to everything and really great doormen

2 bedroom apartment was perfect for me and my teenagers and the dog with plenty of room to spare My only complaints are the place doesn’t have anywhere to safely take a larger dog out to use the bathroom We were in the 4th floor and ended up having to go down through the parking garage to a back alley for him to go Secondly, the valet parking price was steep and I had to park the car myself because it’s a six speed and the guy didn’t fee comfortable driving it Otherwise, this was a fantastic experience!

To start off, this hotel did not provide daily housekeeping like most hotels do, even though we requested it everyday

Very odd policy Staff was rude during breakfast and yelled at me for not using tongs when picking up bread Tone of voice ruined my day and they should’ve spoke to me, the guest, with respect Door that allowed you into side building of hotel room remained unlocked 24/7 and really made me fear for my safety Hotel said “It is broken” and brushed it off like it was nothing seriousOverall, staff seemed miserable doing the bare minimum at their job Very uncomfortable pull out sofa bed and hotel claims they could not do anything to make it better Trash overflowed in our room due to housekeeping coming only twice during my week long stay Housekeeping lady and an older lady at breakfast were the only nice people during my stay Everybody seemed to not care for my needs as a guest Next time I will stay somewhere else

This location was dirty I spent the first hour after we arrived wiping down oil and dirt smudges off of the walls It appeared as if children stayed here regularly and no one bothered to clean after them

There was old juice running down the walls There were white, dried stains on the arms and cushions of the couch The couch was super worn The ac in the second bedroom didn’t work, which was uncomfortable in 80 degree weather The pull out bed was covered in old chips and cookie crums This location was convenient but the decor was dated and room was dirty We walked into the room to an aroma of mildew I’m an Elite member but truly nothing Elite about this stay other than being thanked for being a member This has to be the third property I’ve stayed at in the past yr or that has left me questioning Marriott 🤔 Won’t be back to this property

Long, but please read before booking! If I could give negative stars I would The room was clean, and that is the only positive The microwave did not work, the icemaker did not work, and the AC thermostat had a lowering limit which made the room quite uncomfortable in the middle of a heat wave

On our first full day, the pool was still closed for “cleaning” when we attempted to use it at 10:00 am although the stated hours are 9am-9pm Eventually, hours later, someone came and added chemicals but did not clean the pool of sand and pebbles, etc No additional pool cleaning was done for the duration of our four day stay The same day, we realized that we could not connect to hotel wifi When we notified the front desk we were given a telephone number and left to deal with the hotel’s isp ourselves After more than an hour, variously on hold and troubleshooting, appealing to both the front desk (no help at all), and the isp rep, we still had no wifi Upon calling corporate customer service my husband was told there was no recourse for any of these issues When he inquired as to what purpose was served by the customer service number he was told, quite curtly, not to be rude, and at this point we gave up Finally, further into our stay we required additional towels since only one per person was provided My husband spoke to housekeeping, gave our room number, and asked for towels He was told that all of them were being laundered, none were available, and inexplicably, that the housekeeper had already spoken to his wife about it That simply did not happen and I am unsure as to what the purpose of saying that might have been Choosing the Metairie Residence Inn was a huge mistake It was frustrating and greatly reduced our enjoyment of a much anticipated trip The utter lack of concern by the staff at both this location specifically, as well as by Marriott Corporate is extraordinarly disappointing From a 30 year Platinum Elite member, beware
