Staff was friendly, location was great, room was clean but only small complaints The room had a odor, like a moldy odor, I went to Walgreens nearby to get a candle because the odor was not pleasant One more thing was the bugs, there’s insects and bugs coming out of the heat and AC vents so I didn’t turn it on because I didn’t want to get a room full of insects

If These things improved or someone sealed the vents and cleaned out the vents, made improvements to the smell, this hotel would be great! Thank you!

This place is not as advertised I stayed here for five days on business and the wifi worked for only one of those days There were some crunched up Cheerios on the floor next to my bed on check-in

Mid-week I asked the front desk to vacuum them up since it was not happening during the day The woman wrote it down on a slip of paper The next day my bed linens were changed (which I did not ask for or need) but the Cheerios remained No internet makes it difficult to work from this hotel Businesspeople may wish to book elsewhere

This review is based on my experience staying one time, for two nightsWe enjoyed our stay We love that it’s pet friendly The bed was comfortable

The breakfast was just okay The staff was very nice We would/will stay there againThe sofa was a bit worn and uncomfortable to sit on A fridge was placed in the closet that used to have a door The click and lock flooring is very cheap, but maybe by design since they allow pets

Lisa Zhu

The staff is really nice, the lobby has plenty of space for hanging out with friends The breakfast shop offerings are affordable and look great The only big problem I have is with how little sound proofing the rooms have

For the whole night I was listening to bathroom flushes in the adjacent rooms And starting from about 6am I started hearing banging of doors because of how the room doors are designed to slam, very loudly, especially through thin walls Then the vaccuming in the hallway started around 7am I get it, it’s not a 5-star luxury hotel, but I think some little things can improve to make the stay more enjoyable

Lewis Kay

The staff was nice, but I cannot say the same about our stay We had adjoining rooms and both were horrible!! Mold was in the ceilings and there was a stench of sewage The couches were soiled, food was on the wall, and the headboards, bed skirts and sheets were all dirty

The sinks were slow to drain, feces was on the toilet and the shower doors would not stay closedAnts were crawling between our beds, on the bathroom walls and floors, which were also spacing Housekeeping did not change our linen while we were away, as requested, and because of the issues we kept encountering, they switched our room 3 times My children and I were very displeased by the upkeep of this hotel property and opted to end our getaway However, there is a $50 early departure fee, totaling $100 for both rooms As for customer service: After submitting a complaint and photos of our stay, a representative’s email stated it was “hard to get in touch with me due the time difference” No one has followed up with me since

I am updating this review as the management did such a wonderful job, and really made this a terrific stay Thank you so much for ensuring this was a wonderful trip, while visiting my daughter nearbyThe staff has been very friendly and accommodating

The room is clean and the service is more than expected The room is ample and everything is very clean and comfortable Our view is beautifulAlso the restaurant downstairs is really tasty and not too pricey The service there is lovelyThere is a Starbucks here which does make things convenient, and parking is easy with more than enough room for customers and any visiting guests

Odin Valh’alla

Loved it We came to Navy graduation, and this hotel is just close enough, without being stuck in the city Awesome staff, quick check in, great rooms with very good matresses

Everything super clean! We did come during some type of competition for cheerleading, so hotel was super busy at the lobby, but the staff still made time and helped us Super awesome crew!

marina bograd

The staff was great and space was plentifulAnd that’s itCleanliness was an issue The hotel appears worn out and neglected

Wall paper is peeling off the walls Glass doors and window appear like they haven’t been washed on weeks and floors were sticky (including the rug in the room)The space has potential to become an amazing venue Hope someone notices

The hotel itself is great! Everyone at the front desk was really nice! The only complaint we had was that the shuttle driver was not a great driver at all- he drove real slow, changed lanes recklessly, cared more about the radio station rather than getting all of us back to the hotel When he came back to pick us up from the wedding venue (which he was very late), he told us all that he hated us and then said he was kidding, but it wasn’t professional to say anywayAgain, the hotel was great! Comfortable beds, complimentary breakfast and kind staff

I would just avoid the shuttle if possible

M Jovanovic

ZERO STARS! Both pillows had BLOOD 🩸🩸🩸 on them! We’re not talking about hair on towels We’re talking about biohazard ☣️☣️☣️☣️☣️ Human pathogen! This is beyond unacceptable, even in “normal” times, let alone during a pandemic

I told the front desk and the lady didn’t care She said what do you want me to do about it, I don’t have another room! I had to sleep in my car and they wouldn’t refund anything NEVER STAY HERE!!! 🛑

This facility was so clean, the staff were kind, welcoming and knowledgeable The room was amazing A separate bedroom, separate bathroom with toilet in it’s own room, sink and mirrors in their own room

And the living, dining and kitchen area were clean and roomy And the real fireplace!!! what a great experience for our group of four to hang out and enjoy one another the night before sending one of my sisters off to Texas for the winter The full breakfast in the morning was great as well I will definitely stay here or at any of the Homewood Suites in the future

Wakeboarder Girl

Treated myself to a blissful nite here during a very tiring move to another city The bedroom in the suite was so quiet once I closed the doors, the bed was so soft & comfortable, the shower was perfect, & I was able to bring my dogs with me, which was a very nice surprise This is definitely my all time favorite hotel

I can’t recommend it enough!

Karla Sturgeon

The rooms were very clean and the housekeeping staff are friendly, but the people at the desk were not very friendly! The desk person had a hard time setting up the right dates for our next visit They do not provide stoppers for the kitchen sink to wash dishes We like to cook some of our own food because we have some food allergies which is why we stay in this type of hotel

We did a celebrating life weekend The check-in and check-out were smooth The rooms were nice, 1 king and 1 double

The only thing that made my skin crawl was the amount of random hair throughout the room, especially the bathroom I packed my own cleaning supplies, lysol, etc (as usual) and went to work There was also an elevator with gum pasted on the wall, which was never cleaned off The decor was fabulous and the accessibility to activities in the area was a plus Oh, there’s complimentary parking

Joseph Guyer

No doubt this hotel is beautiful My young daughter said several times that she wants to have her wedding hereHowever, when compared to other hotels out there, it’s sub-par

The rooms were not very large The coffee maker in the room is situated in a spot that is not near enough to an outlet There is no microwave in the room However, there is a microwave in the ice machine room It was broken And the ice machine was brokenThe control for hot tub was broken The pool was nice and the kids had a great time swimmingBut all in all, for $400 a night I think the value is severely lacking

Jen Porta

Didn’t stay there, went for a conference for several days Very nice place Ate at the Starbucks upstairs

Didn’t get the chance to go to the Steak House upstairs yet Do want to try that next yearLove the locationOnly downside is their concession stand food and drinks were SO expensive and they were mediocre at best Got a soft pretzel for $8 that was almost as dry and hard as pretzel rods!!! It must have been under the heat lamp all day! Chicken tenders were mostly breading and they were tasteless Do not buy concession stand food Eat at the places upstairs or go out to the many nice places close by

This is excellent value for money for long term rentals We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that cost least $150 a night The rooms and some of the furniture are dated but highly practical

Even though there were 2 bedrooms there wasn’t much room to work from but that’s where the spacious business center, which is next to the lobby came in very very handy The location is top notch Staff was very helpful and cheerful all the time There was a full DIY laundromat located centrally and a small marketplace selling drinks and snacks, and even some medicines and household essentials like laundry soap Strongly recommended for long term stays and fire value conscious travelersThe grab and go breakfast is something that should change to an in person breakfast And they should do more to recycle on their premises

Mandi Markwardt

Nice service and the room offered somewhat of a “homey” feeling We enjoyed being able to unpack our belongings in the walk-in closet, and they had a brand new hair dryer for usThe furniture could use some TLC and the adjacent bathroom was missing the shower curtain liner

The kitchen sink had a leak and the “grab-and-go” style breakfast sack was very disappointingOverall, I would come back, but if you’re looking for more luxurious accommodations this isn’t the spot for you

Ser Hawke

Hotel gave me a runaround on whether I could get the government rate I asked for it for check in, the woman told me she didn’t know how to do it and ask at check out I asked at check out and the guy there said that they could give it to me but that the gm needed to do it

He even took a copy of my ID Then at the end I was told that they couldn’t give me a government rate and that its only for one bedroom I wouldn’t have minded not getting it, but the run around was ridiculous, especially after having to wait about a half hour to check in the first dayThe rooms were okay but had a musty smell The skylight was dirty and cracked and the walls had some scratch marks One of the ceilings had a small crack it it Sometimes the customer service was good but very hit or miss The pool was nice but the lack of consistency on the rates and the fact that the second night they were double the price seems like they are just trying to get as much money as possible

Had a great stay Beds were super comfortable Checked in was smooth

I came in late due to flight cancellation so I asked for an upgrade and they gave me a king suite with jacuzzi for a small fee Breakfast was great with hot sandwich, eggs and waffles, it was busy in the morning with everyone coming all at once but did not have to wait Rooms were clean and tidy Staff was attentive Would definitely stay here again Close to everything No nuisance place

Eryk Fairchild

Overall a really great experience! Loved the temp of the room, it was clean, VERY comfy bed, great shower, and the staff was super nice Our son accidentally soaked the whole bathroom and all the towels, they gave us replacements promptly, no fuss Breakfast was fine, they had this really cool pancake machine making minis they my kids loved! My only complaint is a common one for celiacs like me, need more gluten-free options! Will stay here again for sure

Hotel felt safe and secureOur jacuzzi room had a electrical problems There was a short circuit where the vent didn’t work and a light near the Jacuzzi didn’t work

It worked for a few moments, and then shut off, and stayed offPrice was slightly higher then the booking I reserved when I arrived Should have just paid online instead of at the location Never had an issue before regarding prices when I pay at the location Pay online and not at the location if booking onlineHad a box of soap by the jacuzzi, that was empty, no soap in itQuiet environmentDecent breakfast, gets the job doneThe king jetted tub room is very spacious, absolutely my favorite part of the stayThe jetted tub was a bit outdated, not sure where the black particles kept coming from in the tub Showered prior to going in but still saw some small particles floating around Not sure if this is because of the rooms floor or not? But still was a little gross

Megan Jakubowski

The staff were really hit or miss Some were rude and stand-offish while others were very accommodating and helpful We booked our wedding block here and were encouraged to only book with them for the wedding

When the block was soon to close we had met their requirements for a shuttle service two times over We had to pay an extra $300 to help shuttle people to our venue because of this Our wedding ended after midnight and we did not have our bridal party check in before the reception, so all their rooms were lost and had to be rebooked at 12:15 when they were exhausted from the day Our honeymoon suite did not latch completely without the deadbolt being locked Half the rooms lights didn’t work for some reason as well We didn’t let it ruin our wedding, but I wouldn’t recommend this hotel

The pandemic cutbacks have really made this place inferior to what the Marriott standard used to be We certainly can get by without daily maid service, however there was one tiny bar of soap for two nights for two people We had to move it back-and-forth between the shower and the bathroom

There’s in room coffee to make in the morning, but only enough for one out of two morningsBoth TVs were unplugged, and it took us a few minutes to figure out that we had to plug them in to get them to workThere was a clock radio, but the buttons to reset the time to the correct time only worked for minutes, but not for the hours I guess everyone travels with a cell phone, so the clock in the hotel is now superfluousThe computers were down when we checked in, and they had to take a photo copy of my drivers license and credit card Of course, they said they would shred it once it was entered, but in this day and age, businesses are not supposed to leave that information visible to employees at any timeWe called the front desk to ask for an hour delay at checkout time, but we still had someone knocking at our door half an hour before the promised checkout time to clean the roomThere is a morning coffee bar downstairs, but on a Sunday morning when it was busy, I had to ask for the cream containers to be refilled There were no stirring sticks, but I snuck a spoon from the buffet next-doorWe did have a lovely well presented buffet breakfast for a large groupThe room was clean, and almost everything else was in working order, although the shower drained extraordinarily slowly The room was clean, and everything seemed relatively new and freshHopefully as pandemic fueled staffing shortages improve, they will be able to undo some of the cuts that they’ve been forced to make

Michael Pinto

My wife and I had a night away and stayed here, close to our homeNice and clean hotel and roomSince my in-laws booked us the room as a surprise, they booked it through hotels

com instead of Bonvoy direct They were nice enough to honor my Gold Elite status and the amenities that are associated Very nice of themNice hotel, nice staff, and an a around solid property I will definitely stay here again for a local hotel

Mike Lurie

I will give you the good, and the not so good I hesitate to call it bad, because it really wasn’t terrible, but worth notingFirst, the good

Hotel staff were AMAZING! They were so friendly and helpful From the front desk staff to the breakfast staff to the bar staff – they could not be nicer With every interaction I felt like familyThe room was very spacious and very clean Every room is a suite, so there is a separate bedroom that can be closed from the remainder of the roomThe price was amazing, I wold have expected to pay much moreNow for the not so good I was there in early July, and it was hot outside However, the A/C in the hotel was on overdrive It was so cold in the hotel lobby, bar, and eating area you almost needed a coat or sweatshirt In fact I did see several older folks bundled up because it was so darn coldSame with my room When I first opened the door, I was surprised at how cold it was I had to turn off the A/C to get the room up to a manageable temperatureAnd while the room was super clean, you could tell it is in need of updating The bathroom was great, but not very bright And the sink drained very slowly Also, the hot water faucet would leak when the cold water was turned on, making a sizeable puddle on the counter All of these are easily fixed if they were to spend some time making regular updatesI am still providing 4 stars because the good far outweighs the not-so-good Will definitely stay there again, as it is close to highways and friends and family when I travel to Chicago

The room was was squeaky clean, our dogs sniffed but didn’t find anything new ( Yes, that’s happened before but not here) Staff was friendly, courteous and professional, all the common areas were kept up very well, each chair or station in the pool/fitness area had a towel waiting for whoever went to use that item next Great breakfast if that’s something that is important to you! Hot items, fruit, yogurts, toasters for your use, surpassed my expectations for a hotel breakfast

Nothing short of a good stay and would recommend

good morning, Good hotel, excellent location, very clean and comfortable and very good breakfast

Only the employee Wilma A was not friendly at all, she questioned my arrival time when there was already an arrival note, instead to receive the guest with a smile that is only what is asked of a worker because he not only refuted and I felt like a scolded child I hope that in my next stay there because I am going to return I will not run into that employee because it could be the last time that she uses that hotel but otherwise very good hotel and service

Many pot holes in road surface, of hotel property Poor lighting, so that walking from car to front door you have the risk of tripping Towel replacement requested everyday but took 3 days to get towels

Each day multiple people responded that towels would be replaceTub surface was dangerous to stand on Bathroom tub area had well positioned hand rails and a pull down set Tub looked safe However, dry tub surface was very slippery I wondered if they polished it to look good Once tub had been used and it dried overnight I checked by placing a dry foot onto dry tub surface and promptly had foot slid on tub surface Tub unsafe to use, despite railsIce machine did not function on 2 out of 3 floors and yes reporting ice machine problem did not get problems solved Desk clerk said each machine has a note “BROKEN” Neither had a notice that machine did not functionTV remote quit working on day 3 of 6 never fixed despite reporting problem Once I was told that someone would be right up My next call I was told someone HAD been immediately sent to make repairAll of my requests were made after a large group of musicians had checked outThe musicians were the best part of my stay The music they played in the lobby was beautiful and relaxingI will never stay at this hotel again

Big bedroom, with a desk and a couch in it You have a microwave, small fridge, and a coffee maker (but there is a coffee station in the lobby with everything you could need)Everything clean

The shower didn’t drain the water at a similar or faster pace than the one coming from the shower, so you get a little puddle in the bathtubthis is my only complain, but I have to say I didn’t ask for help from the helpdesk or other staff members, since my stay was very shortIncluded breakfast during my stay: 3 different cereals, oatmeal, protein bars, 3 type of muffins (chocolate, vanilla, blueberry), boiled eggs, waffles (you can make big ones or smaller ones), yogurts, fruit cocktail, 2 types of juice (apple and orange), different types of bread, and grape jam The coffee and tea station was availableThe staff is super nice Howard in the front desk was amazing and funny ❤️

If there were “0” stars available, this property would receive below it The room we booked online, was not the room we walked into When we inquired, we were told “they” (whoever that was) overbooked the hotel

The room was adjacent to the lobby, steps away from the elevator and dining area Additionally, when I tried to get back into my room after discussing with the front desk, found my card key did not work I went back to the front desk and was given a new key We were traveling with our grandson and went down to check out the pool Once again, none of our keys worked to get back into our room and our dog was on the other side of the door Back again to the front desk and now the manager on duty tried, also to no avail I mentioned it was probably not the card key but something internal with the lock itself This finally resolved itself Fast forward to midnight, all of us sound asleep, when an entire party, not certain if wedding or otherwise, proceeded to chatter up a storm for about a half an hour, this along with the elevator dinging every couple of minutes I was concerned our grandson would wake up with all the noise No one from the front desk came to ask them to quiet it down! It finally settled down, until around 4:00am, when the elevator started dinging again People were leaving and had no respect for other guests and again nothing was said from management I was more than livid Having been in Hospitality and knowing the difference between right and wrong, this was wrong on so many levels When we checked out and I asked for our room to be comped, I was told the best they could do was approximately $40 I asked to speak to a manager and was told she was the manager In my dealings in the industry, this was unacceptable In leaving, I mentioned I would be taking this to social media and was told, “okay” This was in May, but my first chance to voice my dissatisfaction with the hotel We will never stay here again, not recommend and think twice before staying at a Holiday Inn Express again

Best hotel we’ve stayed at when going back home to visit the kids and grandkids Cozy, clean, our room was spacious and I’ve never seen a bathroom mirror that is lit up around the whole edge, and when you shower it only fogs up around the edge next to the lighted edge I’ve never slept so good in my whole life, I want this bed in my house

The employees were all friendly and worked with us when we arrived early for our reservation, then when we had to extend our stay to give us the best possible price The only downside is not anything to do with the hotel, but other guests with dogs We travel with 2 small dogs and always clean up after them Other guests just leave their dogs waste everywhere, it was disgusting Winter cold and snow is no excuse to not clean up after your dog, but I believe they wouldn’t clean up after their pets no matter the weather SO IF YOU TRAVEL WITH YOUR PETS AND CAN’T CLEAN UP AFTER THEM PERHAPS YOU SHOULD LEAVE THEM HOME OR BETTER YET YOU SHOULD STAY HOMEPERIOD RUDE AND INCONSIDERATE, THINKING THAT CLEANING UP AFTER YOUR PET DIDN’T APPLY TO YOU YOU AGREE TO IT WHEN SIGNING INTO THE HOTEL PEOPLE LIKE YOU MAKE HOTELS PET FREE AND A PAIN FOR THOSE OF US THAT DO FOLLOW THE HOTELS RULES AND CLEAN UP AFTER OUR PETS!! I’m sure y’all are pulling the “Karen” card but when I’m trying to find a clean spot for my pet to go on and there isn’t because others left dog poop everywhere, it pisses me off The hotels should use outdoor cameras and put on the agreement you sign when you bring your pets that you will be charged extra when you are viewed on camera not cleaning up after your pets That would be awesome!

Check in and staff was great Free bottled water at check They helped us with an early check in for one of our rooms, which was great

But, once we got into the room, the 1st room had a pile of long strands of hair sitting right on A/C unit Our 2nd room had a dead bird that has been dead for quite a while right outside of the window and on the 2nd day, their was a bug (silverfish) on my bag when I woke up But, nice overall area, beds where comfortable and roomy

Looked very promising when I walked in Room seemed clean at first glance but once you look closer you see it could use a lot of work Bed was comfortable

Tiles in bathroom were cracked I took a shower and stood in almost knee high water by the end of it and found some trash in a cabinet that looked like it had been there for years Wont be staying here again

Front desk employee was sitting in the back room while I waited over 10 minutes at the front desk to check in They should get a bell if that is how they operate Bathroom was not very clean and room had only hand towels

No actual bath towels could be found and of course I noticed this at 5:30am Ordered pizza from my favorite place with plans on taking it home to my family Put it in the refrigerator only to notice when I was leaving that they have them turned off So all my food was ruined I will definitely be finding a new place to stay while coming to the area

I recently booked a double suite for my grandson’s birthday and the accommodations were horrible I’ve stayed here many times and never had an issue they didn’t handle but , this time was different The entire kitchen in the room had issues

The garbage disposal went out and backed up the sink, dishwasher was receiving dirty water from backed up sink/disposal, one burner on stove didn’t work, and surface light on microwave didn’t work Called for maintenance and was told 15 minutes well, a hour and a half later I called again to reach Anastacia at the front desk who was NO HELP I was told there was no maintenance or house keeping available but, she could move us to two rooms Again, it was a birthday party and I had 5 small children and had decorated the room and was cooking dinner on the one burner we had So, I explained why moving wasn’t an option and asked about the bill Anastacia’s response was “I’m not touching your bill but I can offer the two rooms At no time outside of the two rooms did she offer any other solution At which time I tried contacting the General Manager So we’ll see what happens because this was poor treatment of a customer

This was the worst Marriott we’ve ever stayed in If I could give them a negative rating for service I would We were here for 6 days

The sheet they gave us at check-in said our room would be cleaned once since we were here more than 5 days We called to get it cleaned on Wednesday and they then said it would only be a “touch-up” with fresh towels and empty trash (which they didn’t) They also didn’t re-supply necessities and we had to call several times for that Any time we needed anything (like fresh towels) it was a struggle and several callsAlso, when checking in the desk clerk let the person in front of us spend about 10 minutes picking the room he wanted When I asked about an upgrade (I am Titanium) She just immediately said no – barely looking at her system We ended up with the smallest room on the floor – for 6 nights! Finally, although the lobby floors were clean, the carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years It was disgustingThis is truly the hotel that Marriott has forgotten aboutWe come to this area often but I will never stay here again

Very clean, new property You always see staff cleaning The amenities are nice for Chicago area

The rooms lack full length mirrors and only have 1 hook for towels I appreciated having a kitchen, grill, laundry, an amazing gym, pool, free breakfast, parking, a nice outdoor area with a view and even a little lounge The bikes are too tall for me and most hotels that I have been to include bike rental with the room Coffee is actually pretty good

Upon our arrival, we found out they lost one of our room reservations We booked a new less desirable room to fix it with customer service As soon as we were done customer service found our old reservation

I went to the front desk to remove the fourth reservation personally to ensure there were no mistakes They assured me the manager would deal with it personally when she arrived and would call me before they deleted ANYTHING They deleted our preferred room in stead and didn’t even call It took three in-person visits to the front desk to get this fixedI asked for extra towels and toilet paper on day one It took two in-person front desk visits, two phone calls, and over a week to get more We ran out toilet paper twice during our stayI asked them how often they service the room because it had been a while They said they do it on Tuesday We had been here nearly two weeks and they had never been in on a Tuesday or any other day for that matter They did come but only after my requestWe had to extend our stay We went down this morning to do that and even paid This afternoon, we came back to find that all our things had been removed by the hotel staff My body wash is missing, and my damp loofah and opened liquid toiletries were found loose in my luggage Two pairs of super expensive tweezers, my hairbrush, brand new hair accessories, a mirror, toothbrush, toothpaste, ect and have yet to surface and they have made no push to reimburse me for the lost/stolen items We are no longer in a room with an oven or private bedroomsI can’t sleep with all this noise and my earplugs are gone too 😫
