Wife and I decided to stay here while on a business trip based on the positive reviews While the hotel itself was decent, we had one of the worst experiences with the front desk clerk upon arrival We walked in and up to the front desk (there was no one else in the lobby)

The younger man working behind the front desk didn’t say a single word to us Instead he stared at us and raised his eyebrows I told him we had a reservation and, without saying a word, he held up his hand , as if he were holding something and just stared at me I literally thought maybe he couldn’t speak or something So I asked him what the gesture meant, to which he finally said, “Id” At this point, I was a little annoyed, but gave him my id He proceeded to quietly check us in on the computer Once finished he, still without saying anything, looked at me tapped the credit card machine with his hand Extremely annoyed now, I tapped the credit card machine back and asked him “what does this mean??”My wife followed up by asking what was with the attitude to which he replied that he was having a bad day I can certainly sympathize with someone having a bad day, BUT, when your number one job is to be HOSPITABLE, and you can’t do that, then you probably should find a different job I strongly suggest Marriott work on their customer service training There’s certainly no shortage of hotels that will gladly take your $150+/night and not treat you like your an inconvenience

We always stay at this place every time we are in town to visit our college children The location is convenient and the facility is nice The day time staff are very nice and friendly especially the on site manager Ms

Mary However, last several times when we checked in around 8:30 pm on Friday or Saturday evenings, the night shift staff, especially the big guy is very rude and he looks angry for no reason I felt he was judging/profiling me The credit card machine at the front desk is very difficult to use and it needs replaced I had problems with swiping my card for the recent check ins

This place is GREAT!! 🐕🐶 ARE WELCOME!!😁Easy to find off I35, plenty parking in front and around back, well lit area The staff member, Kynan, was very welcoming and friendly! He checked us in and assisted us since we have a Marriott BonVoy CC account, due to the app not accepting the phone number! The room we got was TERRIFIC! It has a kitchenette and all amenities of home feeling fir extended stays! A dining table with 4 chairs, lounge chair with lamp, large shower, comfy beds with fluffy bed linens and great TV stations! Nice large windows with blackout curtains that really black out!! We did get in pool, it was so cool, nice, 4

5 ft deep Nice lawn chairs, and tables with umbrellas! Out front is a patio area with 2 grills and nice large comfy patio sectional! Very nice to hang out and grill a nice steak and potatoes dinner! Breakfast was good, an assortment of hot/cold, coffee, and different juice and milk cartons Eggs, bacon, turkey sausage patty, hot large pot of oatmeal, bread, cold cereal, boiled eggs, and waffle machine Plenty tables to sit no matter the time! The lady keeps breakfast going, no waiting! Dogs are welcomed!!!! Just make sure they are safe snd not barking all day and night! Hotel was clean and quiet upon arrival Parking was tight as it was kind of busy The room was nice, quiet and cold with a view over the outdoor shopping mall

Keith was very down to earth and enjoyed singing along with us when we told him it was our anniversary The room had some minor issues which we dealt with Tv wasn’t as loud and didn’t have an array of channels Shower door wouldn’t stay closed so the floor was wet and uncomfortable to stand on wet towels by the sink Hotel was in great proximity of everything in the area which made it easy to walk if needed be It’s possible I’d stay here again due to it’s location

I LOVE this hotel! One of my fave in Austin if you want to be away from downtown The domain is a GREAT area, upscale shopping and dining, super fun The staff is great the decor is on point and the rooms are modern clean and amazing

Thanks! I’ve enjoyed the restaurant the bar, attended an event here and stayed here multiple times

sydneysaurus

I’ve just arrived and I already really enjoy this hotel! The staff at the front desk were very friendly and got me checked into my room quickly My room is extremely clean and there was music playing in the TV when I opened the door! Everything has been smoother sailing so far I look forward to eating at the restaurant, working in the conference rooms and swimming in the pool!

Beautiful hotel, at a good location for us Lot of artwork, memorabilia located in and around the building Our room was mostly nice

The patio was very nice to sit outside in the evening The pool area was very nice as well The lobby and breakfast area was well situated and comfortable Some breakfast items were not always available for long periods of time before they could bring more The staff was mostly helpful On the downside, the lobby men’s room was out of soap and tissues, for the 2 day that I was there This seemed to be story of most of the building Many of the hand sanitizers were empty We had to ask the front desk due to no towels at the swimming pool They got some out there in about 15 minutes Housekeeping was not doing daily cleaning of the rooms I assume due to the pandemic situation They have to sure what they need to do, but some plan as to getting towels exchanged, trash pick-up would have been good to know

Allie Lee

I just spent the past week here for a work trip I appreciated the location, and I had plenty of space in my room The fridge, microwave, and kitchen sink were all super helpful to have

Unfortunately, the kitchen sink in my room leaked water My room was next to the laundry room, so I’m not sure if that was the reason for having NO water pressure in the shower- like water trickled out of the shower head, and the hot water knob on the bathroom faucet did not turn on The front desk worker was irritated when I requested housekeeping for each day of my stay The housekeeper did a nice job on the days that they came but my room didn’t get done one day even though it was on the schedule The one elevator’s buttons were stuck and hard to work and a lot of people’s trash was left out in the hallways for a really long time The gym was nice and not busy at all I’d stay here again if my company needed me to stay here again, but I will definitely vocalize my room issues in the future if there are any

Trev Schelling

This is an average suites hotel at best, similar to La Quinta Inns level This place is OVER-PRICED They charge like a 4-star hotel

We were looking forward to great experience after seeing reviews and were utterly disappointed I question the authenticity of some of those reviewsProblems: Beds & pillows not comfortable, pool unclean (our child developed skin rash!), dogs barking next door People leaving their garbage outside the doors instead of housekeeping staff going to rooms and picking We had not seen that in hotels costing half of what this Homewood charged usIn short, we would not recommend this place

My go to place to stay when traveling to Austin! It’s right in the middle of it all!! You can take streets or highways to get wherever! Very quick to get to downtown! The rooms are always cleaned and very spacious! Breakfast is good, and the coffee is too! Love the serene feel on this property ! It feels more like a nice apartment complex than an hotel which is nice !!

Eriel Fields

I really enjoyed my stay Very unexpected satisfaction The room was clean and very spacious

The room comes equipped with dishes(plates/cups) and eating utensils(I brought pots) Theres a full stove and fridge which came in handy for sure! Breakfast was pretty good as well Had to asked for it to be warmed up but no biggie I’m honestly not one for sleeping in beds provided by facilities like this I’m really weird about that but for some reason it came really easy for me The sheets were clean the beds were really comfortable I really really enjoyed my stay there definitely looking forward to coming back for my sister-in-law’s B-day this month🥰

Audrey McCaw

Great prices Lots of room Great for what you’re paying for

Comfortable Staff was accommodating when we asked for help Feels like a nice retreat from the craziness of the city Went during ACL (music festival) last year and it was a nice calm place to come back to I actually was looking to see if they existed in any other states so we could visit those locations My only negative was that some of the front desk staff gave me dirty looks when I was in my music festival clothes (fully dressed, not being loud either) in the lobby But otherwise I loved it Will definitely go here any time we visit Austin again

I stayed here with my family for a week Was really unsure about it staying here as I recovered from surgery for a week, we are a family of 5, that also includes 2 toddlers This ended up being the Best decision I made

I usually book an entire home, but I took the chance with the place It’s exactly like the pictures The help was so nice The front desk clerks were so helpful in making sure I was comfortable and tending to things we needed for our stay to be comfortable I loved the breakfast, that was the best part that also made the stay worth it I slept comfortable and didn’t have to worry about struggling to make breakfast or having my husband getting up to cook for the boys I’ll definitely be staying here again It’s clean, located in a Really Good neighborhood, near everything I’m careful where I choose to stay, I want to feel safe This place was s definitely worth staying with your family and it wasn’t to expensive but also not cheap If you’re looking for a nice place, this is the place for you A Huge Thank you to the staff for making our stay comfortable!!

Tonya Nickohla

Absolutely disgusting and quiet annoying if you ask me I was told I had a room on the second floor Arrive to be on the third

I checked in at 2:15am They came into my room while I was gone Supposedly for cleaning, which why would it need cleaned? I haven’t been in there but a few hours Yet, the only thing they did is throw stuff that wasn’t trash away and make the bed I have a 2 minute video of how nasty my refrigerator looksI asked to be taken out of housekeeping, at any other hotel would’ve been fine Here it’s not an option I don’t need housekeeping I can clean my room myself Then my belongings won’t come up missing I’d suggest the Simply Sonesta over this one Not to mention, you have a cutoff on how late you can use the laundry room This place doesn’t deserve even a single star I don’t recommend this place Drive 2 minutes down the road It’s a better hotelAfter finishing my stay, I have to say the manager, I do believe his name was Anthony, couldn’t be more professional He was an amazing person Any issues I had he did his best to take care of immediately He was always so kind Definitely an asset Erin was also professional and definitely an asset as well So, I am bumping up my rating It was definitely a better stay than I’d had expected

Sheila Ford

Staff was excellent from Check-in to check-out The front desk and housekeeping in particular were very professional and helpfulMy friend and I did not want to leave the nice comfort of our hotel

We were there for 3 days First time staying at Sonesto and definitely not the last

Tiffani Schlueter

I enjoyed my stay here The rooms were fully stocked with full kitchen and small couch living area separate from the bed space We had their basic level room with king bed

The kitchen was stocked with utensils and plates/cups which was nice The bathroom was large with nice walk in shower which got plenty hot water and was cleaned and fully stocked with nice little touches The bed was clean and so very comfortable, it was hard to want to get out of it The a/c was incredible given it was well into the 100’s while we stayed and we found ourselves needing to turn it off at times because it was so efficient at cooling the space They were open and accommodating for our dog as well which was truly appreciated given how spotless the facility was Usually places this nice are hesitant to allow dogs Not here They even had treats awaiting them at the front desk They had fresh, cold fruit diffused water available at the front desk which was also a pleasant surprise and was much appreciated during these extreme hot days We were bummed that we missed the breakfast they offered in the morning as it is available only for a short period (by 9:30 they closed it up and we couldn’t get anything) The pool area is rather small and could only comfortably house two small families and during our stay it was always full so we never got the chance to use it Would’ve rated it a 10 if it weren’t for the short breakfast and underwhelming pool

Urvish Shah

Super friendly staff Nice clean rooms Really liked their breakfast

Great location, very close to shopping center area in The Domain Right next to Top Golf, so much so that it may seem that they share the parking lot 🤠 For some reason you need to specifically request for daily room cleaning If you don’t, your room won’t be cleaned Seemed little odd to me

Raquel Seymone

Great location, right across the street from The Domain for shopping and dining The rooms are well appointed, but smelled like pets – asked for something to help and they gave me the industrial room spray which only temporarily helped Those carpets are holding a terrible odor

Easy, free parking Complimentary breakfast is pretty basic Pool could you use more regular cleaning

Great stay at The Westin downtown Austin It was very busy so we waited in the bar for an hour or so Had a great time talking with the bartender who was excellent

When our room was ready we were very pleasantly surprised at the wonderful room upgrade It was worth the extra wait for sureAs busy as they were, the service was top notch From the front desk, the bar and at breakfast everyone we talked with was excellentMy only complaint would be that the poor flags on the front of the hotel were in very sad shape Please change those, our country and our veterans deserve it

Jeffrey Taylor

Great location and good basic rooms good for a business or quick leisure stay Housekeeping service inconsistent/unclear — had to ask for rooms to be cleaned for half of my six day stay with no clear policy Gym is nice and new, but a glass prism in hot weather

Great location, but beware it is loud on weekends and one night the noise from the roof leaked all the way down to my room about ten floors down (TVs having a white noise channel should be a hint)

Jennifer Molder

Great friendly service, very nice rooms I booked this hotel because I wanted a nice pool with a bar to spend the day at I was very disappointed that there were no umbrellas and nowhere to escape the brutal sun

Even the private cabanas have pergola roofs and do not provide shade The pool was small, crowded, and could have used a good cleaning

This hotel is like having your very own apartment right next to the Domain I loved this set up This hotel is walking distance from the Domain

It’s right across the street from Top Golf This hotel literally has everything you need and the staff is so friendly and nice Wyeth at the front desk was super helpful and provided excellent customer service The room has a full kitchen and pets are welcome!I highly recommend this place It’s super close to the FC Soccer stadium, Domain and about 25 minute drive to the airportAlso parking is included!!! You do need a parking pass but it is free!! Continental breakfast included!! I’ll definitely stay here again

Alex Hernandez

This Hotel was far more pleasant than the two nearby hotels And not only that, the least expensive hotel Which was unexpected

Desk Clerk Wyeth was super helpful with my two week stay As well as Tracy They where all great but those two are keeper’s The breakfast meals are always good Never a problem They even have weekend night security Which the other hotels do not have So should you think about coming to the domain area this is the place to stay and your family and loved ones

Johnathan Phan

Their rooms are quite large with a kitchenette and very clean One of my main concerns when traveling are cleanliness of the hotel and this definitely checks that box It wasn’t too noisy and is right across the street from the Domain, so if that is where you would like to visit definitely a great location for that

They also have parking permits that do not cost extra in a designated parking lot right in front

Excellent stay! The staff is extremely nice and attentive The room was clean and nicely decorated with a nice well-stocked kitchen area and full sized fridge Breakfast was quite good with a varied selection (especially on the weekends)

Overall I found the hotel to be very quiet except for a bit of street noise that could be heard through the windows

Ken McPherson

I’ve stayed here on a few trips through the area now It’s nice, the facilities are nice, and it’s often booked out I’ve noticed it’s a favorite of the Texas DPS as well, some how I expect the must have training nearby because all but one stay the parking lot had 9 out 10 vehicles throughout of officers staying the night

The breakfast is good, and there’s lots of food options nearby It will definitely be a favorite when passing through Austin

Service was great Please was clean and well presented Everyone was polite and the manager Justina was very pleasant to talk to

just like her staff As a people manager my self, it’s always important to model the behaviors you expect from your team and you can tell that her team gets it from her! Thank you for making sure my stay was very enjoyable and taking care of the few request I asked for I will stay again on my next visit to TX

Steve DiFrancesco

It looks like it used to be a very nice place but is a bit rundown The grounds, with a mini river walk feel are in disrepair My room is spacious and the bed is adequate

The doorway to the bathroom is very narrow – almost like a closet and would be impossible for a wheelchair or walker Toilet sits too low for my liking Microwave, mini fridge and a Keurig Good work desk with an actual office chair

Pankaj Israni

Service and cleanliness were absolutely top notch I highly recommend going to the 18th floor for their bar Specifically, our bartender Brandon was incredible

Provided us with great drinks (his recommendations were the move) and a very welcoming atmosphere, even when the bar wasn’t necessarily packed Accommodated all of our needs (needed wine opener) and just a overall good guy Would come back here especially for the A+ service and the bar!

This place is just amazing! Stayed in the Mountain Laurel room and has a library Breakfast was delicious and everyone was so attentive! My only complaint is the shower situation, there is no door to the shower stall and the water pressure is so strong, kind of like a pressure washer Also there is no covered parking

Other than that, I really enjoy my time here

ari pramudji

It was way overpriced for the property and the service They are trying to go for the French countryside feel The service at the restaurant was slow

The parking is less than optimal It’s dusty It made me feel like I was in the desert The landscaping is lacking The food was great though I like how they decorated the rooms Very high end The front desk service was lacking It looks like they just hired a bunch of young pretty ladies who have no clue what’s going on I expect a Four Season’s service if I’m paying their prices I felt that I overpaid for this place

Katie Bash

This was the first time my husband and I stayed at this hotel We stay in Austin to visit family at least twice a year and we try to stay at different hotels each time we come We had heard wonderful things about the estate, including how fantastic the restaurant on-premise is (Luties)

I have to tell you though, sadly, we were a bit disappointed with suite and I’m not sure we will be backLets start with the good stuff The location was perfect Very close to downtown, but easy to get up north as well The grounds are absolutely amazing – lovely, inviting and something out of another era We did come when a cold front had hit Austin so we weren’t able to enjoy the pool and gardens, but in the nice weather I can only imagine how wonderful it is Also the valet guys were awesome They always had big smiles and we’re quick to help Lastly, we stayed in a suite in the mansion and had a late night whiskey in the library downstairs They had a wonderful diverse selection of cocktails and we ended up having having a great conversation with one of the staff members, Allen We sat and enjoyed our whistle pig by the fire until we finally made our way up to our room for the night Allen was the best part of our experience at the hotelNow for the not so good stuff From the time we checked in, we just didn’t feel like the front desk staff even cared remotely about our stay We came in about 6pm and there wasn’t anyone around really (other than the person checking us in) We didn’t get that nice and cozy feeling we normally do when we check in somewhere They did walk us to our suite and give us the rundown of how to get room service and such and every time we did call down to the front desk we were helped fairly quicklyWe ordered wine and breakfast while we were there and that was pretty disappointing as well While their cocktail selection was really creative and fun, the wine selection left a lot to be desired Also, the breakfast smoothie (hemp cold brew, banana something) was not very good at allAnd as I mentioned, we stayed in one of the suites in the mansion and even though the decor was lovely to look at, it was about as Uncomfortable as you can get Both my husband and I are very tall and we couldn’t even fit on the couch or the bench in the living room/sitting room area The bed was a four poster bed and looked lovely, but was as hard as a rock My husband got maybe 2 hours of sleep each night we stayed And lastly which was probably the number one thing that will deter us from ever coming back was the bathroom/shower The shower literally had fixtures from 100 years ago There was no water pressure and hot water ran out pretty quickly (maybe 5 minutes) The handheld part of the shower had a leak and water was coming out from everywhere We could barely get clean with the amount of water trickling out Really Disappointing! If we had paid a few hundred dollars for the suite, I don’t think I would have gone to the trouble of posting a review, but this suite was incredibly expensive (over $1500k a night) and was just an incredible letdownI hope they figure out a way to get the look they are going for, but make it more comfortable for the guests that stay there If so, we will defintely give it a second chance!

The atmosphere was nice and the hotel was very clean Beautiful hotel The staff were very nice and accommodating

Unfortunately the good review ends there We ate at the restaurant in the lobby Paid 68$ Each for 3 inedible steaks covered in so much spice and salt you couldn’t tell they were steaks The manager was the worst however We have a service dog with us He asked what job he performed which is illegal as hell We told him and he finally left but what the hell? Why don’t you ask a person in a wheelchair why they’re in a wheelchair? The next morning we put out breakfast door tag out before midnight Nobody picked it up If we hadn’t had to take the dog out and seen it was still there then I guess we wouldn’t have gotten breakfast and we had a meeting that morning The eggs were beyond over cooked So in general yes we love the hotel but the kitchen and it’s manager need some work apparently

Room was large, lovely and clean with a huge balcony and fireplace I loved it Service was generally friendly – the one drawback was the check-in process

The man checking me in at the desk asked too many probing questions about my personal life He read the details of my ID aloud and commented on my address saying he knew where it was, then asked who I was “getting away from” at home, along with repeated questions for my plans that night that were beyond what I’ve ever been asked while checking into a hotel I’m sure he was clumsily trying to make awkward small talk, but for the money I paid, I didn’t think this was great guest experience and it started my stay off on an uncomfortable foot Just gentle, hopefully constructive feedback Everything else was wonderful

My wife and I just stayed in the Archer’s Den w/ Balcony Suite between 6/11 to 6/13 The suite is nicely appointed The tub in this suite is phenomenal and excellent for couples to share

The Nespresso machines are a nice touch and we enjoyed using them Now for the bad Our suite was on the Rock Rose side of the hotel So for the 1st night we had to endure the music from the clubs on Rock Rose that only seemed to get louder after 10:00pm and then kept going until 2:00am We didn’t even fall asleep until 2:30am I went down to the lobby in the morning and politely asked to be moved to the same suite on the other side of the hotel which I felt had to be quieter The front desk staff were nice enough to acquiesce to my request They also had our bags moved to the new suite The 2nd night in the suite on the Nordstrom side of the hotel was very quiet compared to the 1st night Unfortunately the water pressure wasn’t great in the 2nd suite and the sprayer head barely sprayed even when redirecting all of the water in the shower through it Both suites had some intermittent cooling issues with A/C during the night I had to sleep on top of the covers due to getting very hot with the thermostat set in the 60’s When you are paying $60000+ a night for your suite, you don’t anticipate dealing with these issuesBest Advice: Make sure to ask for your room to be on the Nordstrom side of the hotel, so you can actually sleep (especially if you are getting any of the suites with balconies) If you are on the Rock Rose side, I recommend staying at one of the clubs/bars on Rock Rose until last call and then going to sleep at 2:30am in your room

Great place to stay 1st floor room was quiet even though right next to elevator Room was clean and well equipped

Terrific staff was cheerful and helpful I appreciated their assistance with switching out a hair dryer Every evening the lobby had freshly baked cookies and lemonade The bold coffee at breakfast was terrific The well equipped gym had towels, mats, and was placed close to the lobby Free Internet, parking, and breakfast Ihighly recommend this as a place to stay

GWB

Def not a 3 star I’d say The rooms were smaller than expected but had a few good touches

The breakfast was fine Nothing bad or good Just very average The showers have very low water pressure I wouldn’t stay here again I think its above average hotel More of a 2 star Then 3 Just newer build The staff were nice Just little above average in my book

This was not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in but it was pretty close The tv was inoperable for all of my 3 day stay I asked for assistance with it but they never came

The morning after my second request, I found out that the front desk person never created a ticket for itManagement does not have a handle on cleanliness Luckily, I came in with my own cleaning supplies There was hair in the sink and tub Stains on the toilet and the floor had lots of debris on it The two positives were that the air worked and the oatmeal at breakfast was decent

My husband and I stayed two nights here for our 51st wedding anniversary We’re so glad we found this gorgeous, spectacular gem of a B&B The property, the accommodations, the amenities, the decor, the delicious breakfast and how personable Luey and Norris were just topped off our getaway

Everything is first class!! They even did something special for us for our anniversary, which we appreciated very much! It’s the perfect location, away from the city, but close enough to shopping and restaurants We are definitely coming back We absolutely LOVE this place

Alison Smith

The property is beautiful with an amazing front lawn perfect for lawn games (like pickup soccer or croquet / pall mall) The hostess is most welcoming and offers a hearty breakfast to guests Our party loved the outdoor swings and rocking chairs on the porch

Don’t forget to enjoy the free beverages and cookies that the hostess has on stock in the kitchen – super thoughtful! We loved it and can’t wait to go backI want to express my warmest thanks to the family that operates the Plantation Inn Boutique Home – it was a pleasure to make your acquaintanceMost sincerely,Alison Smith

Our stay was absolutely fabulous! Everything about the property is welcoming The breakfast was top notch The penthouse loft has so much character and space

This is the perfect getaway for peace and quiet and is still close enough to town if you want to enjoy some night life or great food Charming owners This place is a true Texas treasure!!! We can’t wait to go back

I stayed in room 209 The sheets reeked of chlorine It wasn’t noticable during the day, but at night, it made it hard to sleep

One of the elevators was not working I liked the plants in the lobby It made the place feel much more comfortable The breakfast was good The shower wasn’t working I tried to pull the little thingy on the water faucet but it didn’t work so instead I just used the bathroom sink The toilet paper was too far behind the toilet which made it hard to reach The electrical outlets are kinda iffy Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’tIf I ever come again, I’ll bring my own blankets and pillows I think it’s genuinely a good hotel It’s just got some design flaws

The hotel is very clean and beautiful with great breakfast but there’s room for growth especially in the service areaAccording to one staff member you need to request your room to be served otherwise they won’t clean it even if the do not disturb sign is not displayed at the door That’s exactly what happened to us, but once we addressed the issue they brought us everything we needed and the front desk gave us some treats

Rich Carey

There is only 1 working elevator at this establishment, which made for a crowded elevator ride, both up and down A couple that I visited with said that the elevator had been down for one entire week, even though it’s clearly marked that the service for the elevator has been scheduled With the currently working elevator, it would make a nasty shimmy when stopping at the top floor, which made for a scary/uncertain experience which was troubling

Within the room that we stayed, there was a very disgusting spot on the curtains, the buttons on the telephone in the bedroom did not work properly, there was a crack in the bathroom sink, the television set in the bedroom only connected to audio and would not connect to see what was on the screen, and the microwave oven was filthy/dirty/nasty We then reached out to the front desk and were told that the maintenance individual had already left for the night When we called back, there was no one available to pick up the call We then went downstairs and saw the front desk person sitting in the atrium casually visiting with another hotel employee When we went downstairs, with pictures, we shared with the front desk personnel what we had seen/experienced in the room and magically the maintenance person was still on sight to go upstairs and review the problems that we had reported I felt that the staff was very nonchalant and was overall not very helpful Also, we had been upgraded to the premium suits, complete with snacks and beverages, but were not made aware that the snacks and beverages would only be available at the initial check-in, and might only be replenished if we stayed more than four nights, since the hotel policy is that any room service/housekeeping only happens after a four-night stay I realize that a lot of things have changed since Covid, back in March of 2020, but I hadn’t realized just how much has changed

It started with one hour early check-in which was the only good thing to say about our stay After that, we were notified of shortage of staff and room service is not available everyday This is a deal breaker

Having so many other options to stay, the reason we chose this hotel over AirBnb was room service and breakfast We did not get room service for our entire stay of 3 nights We put the garbage outside of the room and no one picked up the garbage Breakfast: didn’t have vegetarian option except milk and cereals No breads or bagels Juice machine was broken as if it’s a thing in hotels nowadays I haven’t had this bad experience at other Marriott properties 1 star is because of room size

The holloway family

The hotel is very old and stale The carpet is filthy We only stayed one night because we couldn’t get out money back, but had to cancel our other night because we could not tolerate the filth

I probably used an entire bottle of Lysol trying to disinfect the room Did I say the carpet is filthy, the bathroom floor was disgusting, the pillow cases were dirty Even the free lotion that every hotel provides looked 1980ish The rooms are super small I have stayed in a Motel 8 and that hotel was better than this hotel I’m not going to get started on the subpar breakfast Muffins smelled like play dough I could go on and on, but do not pay anything more than $75/night for this hotel Trust me, you will be highly disappointed I hope that my negative review will motivate management to fix the problem

Siva Kumar

The hotel was filthy and it seems like Marriott retrofitted an old hotel into its chain The room amenities did not work as expected The fridge leaked water in the room floors, the microwave did not work and the ac/heat were either too hot or cold

It could not be controlled We just stayed there for a night but it was probably my least favorite stay in a Marriott chain I would not recommend it to anyone

High expectations with very low results First of all the hotel is under major construction and renovations that we were not told about this when we booked, as we entered the hotel it had a makeshift desk and smelled of sewage We had reserved a executive king, as we first walked into our room it was freezing cold, the air was on at 64 degrees (it was below 30 degrees outside), it took several hours for the room to warm up

The room was clean and size was moderate, the bathroom and shower was probably the highlight of the room The bed was comfortable, the balcony was useless as there was a pillar in the center of it, no chairs to sit and relax outside The front desk did give a good dinner recommendation The bed was comfortable and room was quiet The next morning we had no hot water to take a shower, when we spoke with the front desk they told us that’s normal since it’s cold outside (Note: we ran the shower for 20 minutes waiting for it to warm up) Overall, we have stayed at a lot of different high end hotels and we were not impressed what so ever for the $650 dollar a night room I would not recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a high end experience

Our trip was everything and more We were greeting with a friendly welcome from the check in desk The ladies were very friendly and talkative

Arius upgraded us before my husband even asked and she gave us free drinks Mark a tall gentleman was very sweet at check out My husband was very impressed with the the service the hotel provided We will definitely be back

At around 6:00 am I started hearing a hammering sound

I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from I look out the window Here at the Omni when you look out the window you’re actually looking into the lobby They have a construction crew hammering away at their bar they are building 100% unacceptable at 6:00 in the morningI did get a response, which was nice Of course I didn’t expect any changes from it because such a large number of people here are afflicted by it Perhaps it’s a corporate decision to allow the workers to come in obnoxiously at 6:00 am to start pounding on things I got a response though That’s worth a tenth of a star 11!Changed rooms which was nice 12! Played some room key tag On the 3rd attempt at getting into the original room to transfer my stuff to the new room further away from the noise I got in They were accommodating through the process The staff always had a friendly demeanor Two stars!Tried to get to the pool during regular pool hours Not only did my key not work and the extra key they gave me specifically for it, someone from Ireland’s key didn’t work and a couple of pool goers in their swimsuits’ keys did not work The staff came to our assistance and we tried multiple iterations of key swiping across various people’s keys and none of them worked They put us in the service elevator to get up It was friendly and everything Interesting It shouldn’t have happened thoughNight 2 was the quiet I expected on the 12th floor Have you seen the movie 300? “I am a generous” reviewer Three stars!Other than all of that it’s an average hotel with great staff like you would expect at any hotel

I really enjoyed my one night stay at the Thompson Overall the staff were very friendly and the room was incredibly clean The coffee shop on the bottom floor makes an excellent cappuccino

The front desk staff at night could do a better job recognizing guests and letting them know that they’ll be right to them but otherwise I found everyone to be helpful The lighting in the room is a little strange to figure out since some of the switches blend into the overall design of the lights The overall interior design is unique, modern and attractive

Justin Snider

Gorgeous hotel & rooms The hotel amenities are top notch! One of the best gyms I’ve seen in a hotel (including a virtual sports room)The Grey Market is an awesome breakfast spot for Hyatt Globalists, the Diner Bar has happy hour that was good ($2 oysters), and Wax Myrtle’s which is fun, even though I’m getting old

We had a corner room which was awesome View up Brazos, wasn’t really loud, and the space was plenty to spread out Big bed, great TV, nice shower/bathroom Storage space Large closet Multiple windowsOne of the better hotels in downtown Austin without going to the super top of the line, luxury joints Highly recommend!

Stayed here for a work conference and it was a very beautiful hotel Staff was great The conference area we used was perfect with bathrooms and side rooms available off the main space

Pool and outside area was gorgeousMy one complaint would be the dark bathroom Don’t plan on doing your makeup in there because it’s not gonna happen You’ll have to go sit at the desk or by the window to have enough lightThe hotel has two distinct sides, one with a separate bathroom and another studio type that I believe has everything in one space
