This is a very nice hotel I travel all over the country for work, so I’m constantly in different hotels, and this is definitely one of the better ones I’ve been in The rooms are very nice, comfortable, and kept very clean

The whole hotel is very nice and clean The staff are superbly kind and helpful, and will go out of their way to accommodate you The free breakfasts and dinners are great too It’s not fine dining, but it’s free and tasty, what more could you want? And the complimentary 3 drinks a night is a very nice touch, I always enjoyed myself at dinner

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking your hotel This web site will compare countless booking websites and typically will have rooms much cheaper than others! You’re welcome :)! This resort is the best rated in this area

I’ve been coming here for a long time If you stay for a few days you definitely will love it I’m sure!Absolutely loved staying here Lovely warm welcome We had a suite and it was fantastic, rooms were big and had everything we needed to feel comfortable Complimentary food and 3 free drinks each Would definitely stay here again

A.N. Explores

The people that work here are so so nice and friendly They’re happy to help if you need anything Definitely made our stay that much better

While the rooms could use updating (replace chairs, & carpeting) the rooms, beds, and bathroom was spotless The beds were very comfortable I was so thankful to have a very clean room The shower has a wall hanging pump for body wash, shampoo and soap which was nice as well as a blow dryer Mini fridge and microwave inside the dresser furniture piece A good hot breakfast & dinner buffet, 3 alcoholic beverages included during the dinner, & there’s fountain sodas I don’t drink but they were so nice to make us virgin margaritas and it doesn’t count against your 3 drinks card Pop corn wasn’t good and didn’t have any butter or flavor, would be great if they could get some buttery popcorn for the next visit The hot tub has some powerful jets which felt good, and a large swimming pool that goes from inside to outside There’s a pool towel area inside to quickly grab a towel I felt very safe staying here, it’s a nice area We will definitely be back when visiting the area again

We love staying at this hotel This was our 3rd stay here My family and I were in town for my graduation

We did not use many of the amenities this time, but we have used the fitness area and breakfast bar in the past and loved them We would stay here again The location is the perfect distance from UAB schools The rooms have always been clean Our parents are still raving about the comfort level of the mattress and pillows

Jake Lindow

I booked this hotel largely due to loyalty to the Hilton brand and the strong reviews, and feel obligated to post to warn other travelers This hotel is by NO means worth of anything close to four stars While the hotel is very much “fine” it leaves much to be desired and is by no means worthy of the price tag Hilton places on what is supposedly their “flagship” property in the city

The rooms and decor are dated, and equivalent to a Hampton Inn but double the price The seemingly dumb but surprisingly most impactful negative about the property was the PILLOWS They are effectively as thin as paper once you lay your head on them, and no other pillows are available at the hotel Beyond sleeping with a thin piece of paper as a pillow, the sheets or itchy and might be 50 thread count max, and the A/C was set to 74 when we arrived so the room was sweltering hot No breakfast or snacks are provided regardless of loyalty or rewards status, the coffee machine in the room looks like it came straight from goodwill with only one (terrible) coffee packet thing provided There is NO BODY WASH (???) provided only bars of hand soap, which was shocking in and of itself The CHERRY on top was housekeeping banging on the door at 8am waking us up and interrupt the little sleep we could get on the paper pillows in order to turnover the room, despite the noon checkout time All around one of the more atrocious experiences at a Hilton property and despite the convenient location, will not be one to which I return

Kassy McMichael

We checked in to our room which had the worst smoke smell I have a smoke allergy and immediately felt my eyes itching and watering so I called down to the front desk to ask if we could switch rooms They didn’t have many options and I know it wasn’t easy but she was able to move me to a different room on the same floor and I feel like it was a big upgrade

It was a corner room (and handicap accessible) so it was spacious It didn’t have the smoke smell and it was cleanWe only stayed one night passing through town but not sure I would stay downtown again The walk-ability to restaurants/bars is good lots of options However the street noise is not good All night we could hear cars, people, music and sirensBreakfast was good but there was one lady (rosa maybe?) that was rude and condescending I don’t know what I did to offend her but she followed me around telling me what I did wrong every time I came up to get something No smiles or friendly demeanor whatsoeverParking is $15/night and you get one vehicle per room (small lot) so plan accordingly!

My room was clean and nothing was shabby That is the only good thing I can say There was no shampoo

They told me they had run out a couple weeks prior That is hard to believe for a name brand hotel But the least they could have done was tell me before I left home and I could have brought my own shampoo My room faced a 12 lane highway ( yes, 6 lanes in each direction!) The noise was constant and explained why the room had a white noise machine I was attending a seminar and no one in the hotel knew where it was so I had to wander around to find it One of the attendees told me his room rate which was $50/night less than mine He said when he made his reservation he asked if there was a discount rate for attendees I went to the front desk about this, and they told me too bad, nothing they could do I could try calling sales So I did and Sales said I had to register on line which was a lie as the other person I spoke to attending the seminar did not register on line he made his reservation by phone Just a bad experience overall

There is a fine line between a very good hotel and a less than average hotel The check in was very slow, showing that the manager was not willing to come and help check customers in Secondly, there were laundry carts sitting by the elevator

This is evidence of poor housekeeping And, there was molding, or trim pulled off all over my area, including my room It would have been nice for them to inform me there was construction going on, when I checked in There was no TV signal

Whitney D.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the years, and after last night’s stay, I believe they should’ve just remained closed To begin, at checkout I was told that the room choice I booked was no longer available The guy who checked me in was even excited that I decided to only stay one night instead of the two I booked (so obvious they overbooked)

I took the room they had, and we noticed we had no small face towels in our room, so we requested them and were told they were dirty, and that cleaning staff didn’t arrive until the next morning That was fine, so the next morning we called around 7, and we were told they would be in by 8 I then went to the desk at 8:25, and the staff member was purposely rude to myself and everyone else who was in line She even turned her back to me to speak with another staffer, and made it clear she didn’t care She did inform me that cleaning staff didn’t get in until 8:30, before turning her back to me, though I asked if I could give her my room number for towels and she wrote it down By 10:00, still no towels and no word On top of that, water did not get hot (only warm) and the shower had hair in there from the previous people When I went to check out, customer service from her was just as terrible She is so mean to everyone for no reason Why have someone like this working your front desk if you are a 4 star hotel? Very disappointed and surely won’t stay again The Westin has much better service There was also no hair dryer in the room, which was odd I completely understand that by today being Father’s Day, you guys may be short staffed, but there is absolutely a way to inform customers and to have the employees who do come to work offer an apology for the inconvenience Staying at this hotel is no small fee, and I am disgusted I will say the valet team was extremely nice, but most people are when working for tips

Staff was super friendly and helpful Hotel is in a great location and off of the main road, so it feels like a “getaway” The pool was fantastic

They have a basketball court and even will provide you with a basketball, which made my kids very happy Room was spotless and quiet Bathroom was spotless and the water was nice and hot with great water pressure Thank you for making our trip wonderful!

Robert McDonald

Pulling up the place looks great Nice building and grounds Check in and lobby are nice

Staff is amazing, very welcoming The bad is the rooms They are dated and dirty We had just drove 8hrs on the way to the beach and needed to stop for the night We let our twins play on the floor after checking for anything laying around After 20 mins they had black feet and knees So time for a bath Tub needs resurfaced Overall it’s OK, breakfast was great They just need a little help with cleaning and some updates Beds were clean and comfortable Flood light outside bedroom was odd but blackout shades worked well

Tim Grass

The suite was spacious and clean Seconds away from groceries, Starbucks, gas and more The staff was extremely friendly and helpful

The complimentary breakfast was better than many other hotels Pre-maid egg omelettes with veggies, sausage, potatoes, fresh waffles with chocolate chips or walnuts or strawberries, pastries, cereal, grits, etc A great stay

Had a great staycation with a few mom friends! Spacious rooms and beautiful decor We hung out at the rooftop bar and enjoyed delicious food and drinks Our waitress Stephanie was the absolute best!Breakfast buffet the next morning was amazing

We plan to do this again!

Ben Fiedler

Very good people and wonderful food at the restaurant Otherwise: we can hear the people next door to our room and they are just taking at a normal volume, the front doors to the hotel aren’t electric, so they make it hard to enter with luggage and don’t comply with the ADA and you are never greeted by the staff when you arrive back at the hotel PS: the coffee is very bitter

Not coming back

Kimmie Mack

The hotel is really nice and I enjoyed my stay up until checkout day I was sleeping so peaceful when all of a sudden I was rudely awaken by a 915 am knock on the door from housekeeping!!! Why????? This is so tacky to have housekeeping knock on doors!! I know when to checkout!!! Now I have a pounding headache because of this rude awakening!!!

Overall, I had a great stay at this hotel The location is great – near lots of restaurant and bars (you can just walk) My room was very spacious, nice and comfortable; and had everything I needed

I was happy to have a kitchenette that included a full fridge Even the common areas were very nice and cleanThe only reason I didn’t give this hotel 5 stars is because the breakfast fell short It just wasn’t that good to me Perhaps, other guests feel differently In the same breath, you’re so close to everything that you can just walk to a breakfast destination I would definitely stay at this Homewood location again

Bathsheba Johnson

I’ve stayed here twice, the rooms are absolutely beautiful and the staff is the friendliest I have ever had! However, the room I had last night needed more cleaning The shower wasn’t very clean in the corners and there were smears on the wall near the bed that I’m going to call chocolate The couch had some stains also that I forgot to photograph

Regardless, I enjoyed my stay and will stay again

Kristine Hansen-Dederick

The hotel itself is nice, but expect zero customer service Only folks I ran into seemed pretty lazy and bored Didn’t seem like too bad of a job, so not sure what the problem is there

Location is great and the rooms are spacious and quiet I can’t get past the bad attitudes though and probably would not stay there again It’s too pricey for that BS

I had a wonderful one night stay at the Redmont All of the staff from valet, to front desk, to restaurant staff, were very friendly and helpful This it a downtown hotel and great for business travelers or a weekend getaway

There is a rooftop bar that is supposed to be amazing However it was closed due to the weather and short staffing I had drinks and appetizers in the restaurant Both were very good The room was not large but had a desk and king size bed which was very comfortable The Redmont is on the National Register of Historic Places It is also listed as the most haunted hotel in Alabama I did not see any ghosts Maybe next time…………

Danny Haralson

We didn’t stay here but we will! We’re from Bhm and next time we want a downtown evening, this will be the place Hotel is nice (Hilton Curio) with a long history but the staff was the best! We went (small group 10 +) stopped by roof top bar for a drink Staff opened doors, helped us figure out elevators (only 1 goes to penthouse/ bar) and served drinks

We travel often but think we’ve found a gem right here with service & pleasantness leading the way (how rare!)

Dana Aderhold

The staff at check in was less than helpful The staff at checkout was helpful though Room was dirty

$35 to valet was ridiculous when they are just moving the car to a public parking lot across the street that I could have parked in myself for 1/2 the price Hotel smelled old and musty Homeless people harassing me outside of the hotel I didn’t feel safe and will never be back

The biggest thing to know is no onsite parking without using their valet service We opted for free street parking and just had to walk which was only inconvenient when bringing our things to the hotel

The hotel itself is staffed with really nice folks The bartender was charismatic and we greatly enjoyed talking to him while enjoying drinks The room itself was very cozy and clean and we over all loved the stay I can’t give 5 stars because there’s not a mini fridge or a microwave in the room That made eating and storing left overs and stuff impossible I would give it 5 stars if those things were added though Perfectly located downtown we walked to a lot of great places with ease

Erin Zulfer

I stayed for 2 weeks for work and I met I think almost everyone at the desk and valet services outside, couldn’t ask for a better group of people Lee, and Harley(I believe his name was) were outside most of time when I was in and out of the hotel, super nice and were able to tell me about the parking situation besides the valet Quentin was behind the bar and was able to recommend tons of cool things to do and makes absolutely incredible cocktails

It did not originally have a mini fridge in the room but I asked the front desk and they were able to send one Cleaning staff was great as wel, thank you so much

Ashley Smith

Very disappointed in my first stay at Kelly Front desk staff were eating food at the desk when I stopped by, had no change for the valet and in general appeared apathetic to guests I had a king room that smelled like mildew

Additionally the nightstand and desk had a liquid on it that I had to wipe off with a towel The linens felt like they had not been washed and gross! And lastly – $35 A DAY for valet – are they high? You don’t pay this in New York City This bones of hotel are stunning yet they need to fix a few basics in cleanliness, customer service and hotel guest basics

One of the most beautiful upscale hotels that I have ever stayed I needed a quiet get away, which was perfect However, the rooftop bar and the restaurant is great for a great time

So has the best of both worlds Dominique was so caring I was thankful for her hospitality All the front desk reps were great, even when i needed something in the middle of the night Valet had a staff issue, the lot is next to the hotel which made it easy for me to just get and park my car Overall it was an amazing experience Thankful I chose to stay there

Izz Noland

Pros: Very nice hotel in downtown Birmingham My wife and I went for a “stay-cation” and definitely worth it with The Yard restaurant on site for dinner and brunch Highly recommend the somewhat eclectic rooms, and nice views!Cons: The only downside is that some of the in room amenities were not 100%

One of the shower heads looked like it would fall off any minute, the shower gel was empty, and housekeeping came by an hour before checkout asking if we had checked out so she could clean We heard her in the hallway knocking on the other doors as well

Brian Wray

The Place is Beautiful and has a very eclectic and high end feel Really Posh But, this is a place where it is Form/Design over function

Valet Staff is Awesome and very helpfulThe Front desk staff (evening and morning both) seemed a little put-out/annoyed by our arrival and questions, but the Valet team was helpfulThis is a place where form trumps functionThe rooms are tiny, halls are tiny (luggage carts barely fit through the halls or in the rooms) luggage carts are rickety and barely holding togetherThe Rooms are beautiful and eclectic (which is why we chose it), but this form has take precedent over function It is not meant for FamiliesThe Toilet Room door and shower doors are opaque green/yellow glass and do not seal, do not have fans, are hot as hell, and full conversations can be had, hands can be held while using both ie: lacks a sense of privacyThe toilet room might as well be called a sauna because it was as hot as onenot a place where you want to start sweating just walking in The listing was weird and again, not meant for function, but rather formForm/decor was nice, but it lacked some much function, It will not be a place we stay at next time we are in townAlso, the bar/restaurant is not open on Sunday, almost the entire downtown area is closed, so definitely do not recommend a Sunday stay in Birmingham Downtown

Very nice hotel and staff Very clean, rooms are very spacious A word of warning though and only reason I didn’t give 5 stars – if you’re someone with long hair plan on an extra hour or two to get ready if you’re showering

The water pressure of the shower is super weak, it’s like a trickle If you have long hair it will take about an hour or two to rinse the shampoo/conditioner out of your hair

Kris Macchiarola

This hotel accommodates pets (which I did not know) The hotel should have designated rooms for people with pets vs people without

My room smelled like animals and triggered my allergies immediately The staff did their best to improve my experience, but it wasn’t enough because every time I went back to the hotel, my symptoms would worsen

Jessica Modic

My husband and I stayed here for 4 months, so we know ALL the details The staff is amazing! They truly go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to make it feel like home Yonas brought all of my packages to my room, Nick always grabbed my garbage and towels outside my door, Desiree made sure the housekeepers even used my non toxic cleaning products! Larry made sure anything I needed fixed got taken care of and Niemah (prob spell wrong) is top notch in taking care of all hospitality services! So blessed to stay with this crew and we are sad to leave!

Based on previous experience (2 years ago under another brand) I did not get what I was expecting The exterior of the property looks welcoming but the rooms are a nightmare The rooms are dark, gloomy, and smelly

In 9 days on property there was only 1 good housekeeping experience Some of the team members are AMAZING, very cordial and personable but others are the exact opposite The locatiin is central and makes it easy to get around This is definitely not the same hotel it was a couple of years ago

Stayed at Sonesta on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2022 I love the location of this hotel, it was within the area of our visit to Birmingham It was quiet, security was provided, as well as extra security locks on the room doors

Our room was very comfortable, very clean and smelled nice, even though the furnishings were a bit outdated The bed was comfortable and we had extra pillows that we requested online Candy, who was on the front desk when we checked in was exceptional She is engaging, knowlegeable of her job, and very professional She made our stay nice right from the start even before we entered our roomAnd, lets not leave out Whitney, who checked us out the next morning She was also engaging and professional as well This hotel was a surprise to us, we hadn’t heard of the brand but took a chance It is located in a quiet area right off Interstate I-65 with plenty of places to eat There is even a Walmart in the area (which is a plus for me) I will definitely stay at Sonesta Homewood in the future when I am in the areaPS Thanks Candy for your help when I called late night on May 11 And, she even greeted me by name over the phone before I even began to tell her why I called or who I was Even with Caller-ID, I probably would not have remembered the name of a previous guest Like I said, personality Plus and attention to detail!!

We had a room reserved and had pre-paid for today 7-27-22 They called at 2 pm today to tell us they are canceling our room as they were overbooked for the room type Didn’t offer to change room typed as we had a 2 bedroom suite

Had a unrefundable room if we canceled but they didn’t offer any comp from their canceling Had to get our agent to get our funds back as they said they wouldn’t issue the refund Very sad to start our trip this wayOnline an hour later the room was back on for more than double what we were charged We did not book here again and went to another hotelI don’t know how to reply to your response But it was your hotel and we were not able to stay there It blew our trip expense out of the water if we were to rebook at your location Your whole system has not been a help at all

But it is worth the trade off if you need access to the hospital The Bistro located on the first floor is pretty good and not too expensive There are plenty of other food options all around the hotel as well as a convenience store right around the corner for all your last minute needs Definitely recommend this hotel

They are all very professional and willing to help you anyway they can I stay here often so I can go to UAB to my doctor Everyone I’ve met here are pleasant and go above and beyond to make you feel special

The rooms are roomy, clean and comfortable I will continue to be a regular at the Courtyard

For $200/night, one should have some reasonable expectations: the shower head to be actually attached to the wall & the bath towels to be larger than a napkin Had the look of being recently partially renovated However, since its proximity to UAB Medical Center (Kirklin) meant we only had to walk a few feet outside during my wife’s open heart surgery, it was still worth it

This hotel is updated with most of the standard amenities you would expect Unfortunately my room lacked a microwave The standard beds were forgettable, very soft

Great location near dining and shipping, as well as easy access to I-459The indoor pool was heated and might have been too warm for some people Pool towels were also in short supply over the weekendCheck in was a little slow on a very busy (over booked, in fact, according to the staff) due to only one person working the check in desk

While, I haven’t stayed at this hotel

I book reservations for many people at my company at this location I would like to say that Nicholas at the front desk has helped me so many times with lost receipts and changes, and he is always super friendly and accommodating and upbeat I talk to hotels around the world on a regular basis, and Nicholas is one of the best!

Stay was outstanding Beds were a little small as twin fulls Room very nice

HUGE problem was bathroom door Acted up first night with me in there Then again before check-out when daughter got stuck but I was finally able to get it Unfortunately for me, I still needed a shower and ended up getting stuck in there for like 30 minutes Maintenance had just left for the day and had to wait for them to get back Door was on tracks and came off several times Frosted glass door that left cracks when “closed” you could still see through No dad or daughter wants to see through to that And I surely didn’t want to get stuck for 30 minutes Door was still not on tracks when maintenance “fixed” VERY DISAPPOINTED And heard not a peep from hospitality of any consideration for a discount or comp for the inconvenience Locked in a bathroom for 30 minutes at a nice hotel after a hot shower was just ridiculous

Great customer service Clean room Wonderful, central location

Parking lot fully lit and safe If ever in Birmingham again, will definitely stay hereAn aside, the hallways and elevators are very warm and humid Definitely a turnoff, as was trying to get the room cool enough We were told this was due to a new system installed that pulls air from the outside – not great when it’s July in Alabama! Overall, though, very pleased!!!

This hotel is beautiful and in a quiet area When we arrived and checked in, there was an issue with our room Nelson at the front desk accommodated us quickly and made sure we were comfortable for our stay

The breakfast had many options and we were very pleased Kelsey and the main cook were very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of Their hospitality made celebrating our special occasion an even more joyous event Definitely recommend this hotel

Bill Fortenberry

The hotel personnel were amazing They were very professional and friendly Unfortunately, the building itself seems to be suffering from some structural issues

There was a large dip in the middle of the floor of our room, and the floor of the bathroom was so off level that the toilet lid would not stay up and the sliding door for the shower would not stay closedWe at breakfast at the hotel “restaurant,” but we would have been better off eating somewhere else There was not a free breakfast provided, and we would have had no issue with paying for a decent meal, but the food was the exact same fare that we would have gotten for free at any other hotel in the area It was also annoying that breakfast was served an hour later on Saturday than on FridayWe did appreciate the fact that the clientele at this hotel are mostly business leaders as opposed to vacationers The hallways were very quiet, and we did not have any disturbances during the night Overall, it was a good stay, but I don’t think we’ll be back given the structural problems and the lack of a real restaurant

Really disappointed in our experience staying at this Marriott location recently Our single night stay was extremely overpriced for such a poorly maintained property There was only one working elevator and access to stairs was not at all clearly marked

The AC in our room barely worked We had a bare minimum amount of towels provided to the room, and those that were provided were threadbare Although we booked a room with a King bed and a sofa sleeper, we were not provided any sheets, pillows, or other bedding for the sofa sleeper and had to retrieve these items from the front desk ourselves late at night once discovered (We were still unable to obtain additional pillows – so 3 pillows between 3 of us across the king and sofa beds) – and when the sofa sleeper was opened in our room, it actually blocked the room door from being openedSnacks from the lobby pantry were all stale and gross Breakfast, although included, did not offer many options and was poorly serviced/stocked The only trashcan available during breakfast time was overflowing and in the 20-30 mins we were in the dining area, no one attended to it – despite the empty trash bags that were laying on the floor around itParking is validated, but the recommended parking deck doesn’t feel safe, maintained, or properly staffed When we were parked in front of the hotel unloading to check in, there was a man knocking on our vehicle windows panhandling for changeThe staff were mostly friendly and helpful, but they didn’t seem knowledgeable about Marriott’s elite loyalty programs and related offersWhile we love Marriott hotels, we won’t be staying at this location again – and we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else either in its current state

Love this place! We used to hop around hotels in the area and now we only stay hereCentrally located in perhaps the most pedestrian part of Birmingham You can get to the airport, watch a Baron/USFL/NBA D-League game, have a nice dinner and take the family to Railroad Park all within a 10 minute walk or drive

The other part I love and perhaps I should have mention first is the staff Be prepared being greeted with a smile and “how you doing?” by everyone on staff It’s a nice adjustment if you’re a frequent traveler Mr Curtis and Frankie are always pleasant to see…probably because the kids love themI left valuable items by accident once and the GM personally handed them to me as soon as I walked in I’ve been to this hotel before but it just feels different lately…in a positive way I know my kids would vouch for that I’d love it even more if they added a kitchen and bar!! 😍

Kimberly Bollman

I will say the lobby makes you feel relaxed right away Parking is easy Good downtown location

But we never made it thru the check in process We made the reservation online at their website We chose the prepay option to get a discount When we arrived, our reservation showed up but the payment did not Long story short, we ended up going home because we couldn’t pay for the same reservation again Especially not at the full rate

We had one of our nieces’ wedding rehearsal dinner there and many of her future in-laws and friends were staying thereAfter the rehearsal dinner, some of us decided to go down to the lobby on the first floor to sit and talkWe were not particularly being loud or obnoxious or anything

Just sitting at a hotel lounge and having conversations just like hotel guests would do Then the lady at the front desk yelled at us as if we were her students and she’s our teacher, saying that we were being too loud and that we need to quiet down because she can’t hear customers on the phoneWe didn’t say anything the first time and tried to talk little quieter Then, after about 10 minutes, the lady yelled at us again saying that we were being too loud Once again, we were not particularly being loud or obnoxious at all Just having some conversationsI just never had that kind of experience at any hotels anywhere – a front desk clerk telling (yelling at) guests to quiet down at the lobby I mean isn’t that what hotel lobby is for? For guests to sit and have conversations? Then, I tried to talk to her to see what is going on but she would not talk to me by saying that she’s too busy talking to her customers on the phoneI tried to politely ask her who’s the manager on duty is but she would not give me his/her name or the contact information – I guess I can look it up myselfBy then, we all decided that it’s not worth it and just went up to our roomsI asked her name but she kept on waving her finger while she’s talking to someone on the phone and walking away from me She was hiding her name tag with her arm so I couldn’t see her name eitherIt’s probably one of the most unpleasant experiences we’ve ever had staying at a hotelI actually don’t want to give any stars at allThe management needs to train the employees better Where is the customer service We were not there to serve them It’s the other way aroundDo not stay at this hotel

Richard M

Had dinner at the restaurant off the lobby called Ironwood kitchen Food was just ok, nothing special but the cost was extremely high for the meal Three of us with no alcohol, ran $200

00 The service was adequate Save your money as there are so many better restaurants for dinner in the area Stop there at the bar for drinks as that did look inviting

We loved the hotel so much, we stayed here again on our drive back home We were traveling from the Midwest to the East Coast and had planned on stopping in a smaller town, but their outdoor pools didn’t open until Labor Day and we had promised our kids they could swim when we reached the hotel So I researched some hotels in Birmingham and one of the reviews suggested going to The Summit area

We are so thankful for that review! This hotel was extremely clean, the staff was excellent, the pool was clean and the beds and linens were so comfortable The young man that worked the front desk (he appeared to be in his 20s; has a birthday coming up or recently celebrated it) was friendly, helpful, and made us feel completely welcome and at home We were going to try to drive farther down the road on our return trip home, but we felt like we didn’t want to try to find another hotel as good as this one, so we stayed here again and were so thankful It was a good price, too And great location! We enjoyed the nearby restaurants (We recommend Mooyah for burgers, Seasons52 for a special occasion, and Big Spoon Creamery for a delicious treat!) We left before breakfast both times, so we can’t attest to that But we also used the water bottle station in the workout room and noticed they have complimentary headphones for your workout if you forgot yours- super cool Also, the shampoo, soap and conditioner are fancier than we typically use- definitely a treat 😉

I am very picky about hotels, especially now that a lot of them are unfortunately short staffed This hotel was very clean, the customer service was great, and all of the guests seemed happy Our room was very clean and stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash

The complimentary breakfast was good as well 10/10 would recommend and/or book again

One of the nicest Fairfield properties I’ve stayed at! Brand new and everything is top notch I stayed in a king suite, which was very spacious The furniture was beautiful and it felt like I was in someone’s home, not a hotel

The hotel gym was also very spacious and the equipment was nice and new I would go out of my way to stay here again

My stay here was pleasant The staff is very matter of fact and no non sense You ask for information and they will provide you with the information when it is available

I only stayed here one night in a double queen room The view was nice I had to shove the door open when coming in but the room was clean and comfy Nothing impressive but all the amenities were accurate and the room was cleaned Breakfast is nothing fancy but I enjoyed the waffles The gym has disinfectant wipes, towels and filtered water If you need something basic and to the point, this is your place

Anthony Johnson

Stayed here for the last two nights and there is a lot to like about this place Beautiful architecture, nice rooms and great location Could have easily given them 4 stars but their front desk personnel had attitudes and in some cases were plain rude

I’m a lifetime Diamond Hilton Honors member and there is a fine line between being a good hotel versus being a great hotel And until the Owners and Management of this hotel require warm customer service this place will always be just a “good” hotel

Barney Moore

Don’t get it twisted, this hotel is not worth your money Clogged drains, cracked sink, cracked toilet, no refrigerator, AC wasn’t working right, very tiny rooms I travel all over the country for work and this was absolutely the smallest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in

Street parking is a pain, not the safest area at night either I found the hotel staff to be kinda rude in general Nothing about this hotel feels historic except maybe the view from the street They serve breakfast on the top floor, so I went up there at 7am and it was 80 degrees in that damn room It’s basically the same terrible breakfast as any other Hampton Inn, but add 10 degrees to the ambient temperature No cold milk or cream at the coffee station, no milk in the fridge, and no fridge in the rooms either Good luck if you stay here I booked 3 nights and dipped out early just to get away from it My best guess is they don’t have the money or staff to properly service the place, but if you’re gonna charge $180/night you better get your act together Beds are so squishy the sheets come popping off Congrats, you’re the worst hotel I’ve been to in 37 nights at Hilton brand hotels in the past few months Now comes the hard part, put some money into this place and make it right Historic shouldn’t mean run-down
