ProsExcellent location right in the White River with full hook ups for RV’s It has cabins on the front, most are overlooking the river It has an awesome fly fishing shop with expert guides and knowledge of the river

The four bathhouses (toilet and shower combined) are clean and air conditioned/heated depending on the season The owner is very responsive to campers needsConsPictures on the website are deceiving The cabins and general area needs upgrading This is a diamond in the rough and could generate more business if the site and amenities were updated The garbage dumpsters need to be moved far away from campsites and emptied more regularly The flys in the campsites were primarily due to the location of the dumpsters

We camped here in an rv site next to the beautiful White River The “resort” was quite for the most part but it wasn’t what I was expecting for a resort The roads in and out where not paved or very poorly paved, the store on location was not open, there were no activities offered as you would see in other resorts camping or otherwise

It was very basic for the price

Camping trip for the 4th of July wknd No one was ever at the office the entire 4 days we were there Potholes in the drive need fixed

I will say the bathrooms and showers seem to be cool and comfortable We did have to go and get our own picnic table and bring it to our site, There were some laying around but you had to walk them over to your site if you wanted it The fire pits need upgraded they are nothing more than a circle on the ground with some blocks around them Not all of them had a fire pit that I could tell fortunately ours had a small one All in all I would go there again if I absolutely could not find anything else in the area but compared to to White River state park just down the street this place does not even rate close to that They did have full hook up which was nice and the price was a fair deal for the night Could be a better place if some upgrades were made And people would be around the office on a regular basis

My family stayed at North Shore Resort for our first visit to Bull Shoals Lake I spoke with Patti a few times on the phone while preparing for our visit and she was super friendly and helpful each time When informing her of our late arrival she said she’d have the cabin ready for us

Our cabin was perfect and had everything we needed for the long weekend We went to town one night for dinner but cooked all of our other meals in the fully stocked kitchen Bonus that they had ice available for the cooler since we were in a nice quiet area away from town We had planned to have a campfire but after spending all day on the lake we were all too tuckered out We wanted to take advantage of the pristine pool but we ran out of time Next time! We would love to stay again!

We had a business/church group fishing trip planned out at Gene’s Trout Lodge Fantastic opportunity to bring your own river boat or rent one of theirs They have docking boat slips for your boat with easy access to and from your lodge to their boat docks

Beds are so so but just a place to sleep for us We care more about the river and easy access Would suggest better towels, bed sheets/ blankets, updated bathrooms, and gas grills would be more accomdating Overall Gene’s is a great place to stay to be on the river

Best available location for the Norfork River! Excellent amenities as well, their web page is a great place for information if you’re planning on staying here You can also call them on the phone and reserve your room, we did not pay until we arrived which was what we were told to do by their staff We were quoted a $90 rate for one night stay on a Saturday night for two adults and one child

Which is awesome! Especially given the location The staff member even told us we could bring our pet which is an 8 week old German shorthaired pointer puppy We did not find out until we got there that the rate was not going to be $90 because of the additional fees associated with a third person fee of 10 dollars, and a pet fee of $35 So I think my total was around $167 with fees and tax of course Which is still a great rate! I asked the gentleman and the lady at the desk upon arrival about the fees and ask them if they offered a military discount, law enforcement discount or a healthcare discount The gentleman probably replied that the rates are low enough as they are I explained to the gentleman that I was asking for review purposes and that I asked everywhere I go I was met with crickets 🤣 (SILENCE) This is a great place to stay folks and the best view you could imagine for that part of Arkansas! It is also about a 56 second drive away from the Norfolk Lake quarry boat ramp and swimming area You guys should check it out seriously!

The view was awesome, it was my first time eating here My husband got the bow tie Cajun pasta, he loved it I got the chicken Alfredo pasta, I didn’t love it

It lacked that garlic-y flavor that Italian food has, it was good but I think they can improve Our server was super nice, a middle aged man The salad was my favorite part It was so good

Stephanie Saver

Second time visiting the area and eating at the restaurant Had the brunch 1st time it was very good Everything delicious on it

Over the 4th of July holiday came in for dinner No complaints again Food was amazing again Exceptional service from our server Scott He was a pleasure to have wait on us Loved watching the humming birds on the feeder while we sat at our table Will definitely be back again

Mark Carroll Jr

We have always received first class service at Gaston’s My wife and I got married at Gaston’s in 2018 The cabins give a nostalgic river feel, which is what you should want/expect when at the river

The White River is simply put, second to none when it comes to trout fishing in Arkansas The staff is friendly, and will accommodate for all guests Whether flying in, or driving in, you will be hard pressed to find a dog friendly resort with a classy restaurant, and quality hospitality like Gaston’s on the White River

Dear readersI’m not one to leave a review, or to put much stock in them I just want to know if the rooms are clean and that the beds are good and in a safe area

Humble little me was absolutely blown away I can’t believe how clean our cabin was, I have never stayed in a cleaner place We take our own bedding and pillows anywhere we go because we love our sheets and pillows not to mention you just never know This is the first time ever we didn’t even unpack any of it They have the Best sheets! And,(My pillows) Really good beds! We loved our stay! Bob and Sue are some of the Best and hard working people on earth If you want to step back in timeto a better place this is it Perfect for Kids and a family get away If you are looking to get loud n rouddy and party this isn’t for you

Bruce Boddie

All we can say is AWESOME! The owners, Bob & Sue were always available to make sure we had everything we needed to make our yearly “anniversary trip” a wonderful experienceThe cabin we stayed in was spotless and very well stocked with kitchen necessities, linens, and beddingWe had two kids (on separate days) showed up unexpectedly for an overnight stay and both we’re welcomed by Bob & Sue and even showed how to get to our cabin and where to park

The boat ramp and docks are very well maintained and so easy to get to About a 60 ft walk from our cabin and we could be at our boat which was in a covered, well lighted slip included with our cabin rentalThe best thing is Edgewater Resorts’ policy is if you stay in a cabin this year you are guaranteed to stay there the next yearThank you so much Bob & Sue for making our stay with you relaxing and enjoyable! We are already looking forward to next year!

David Gordon

Just spent a week at Edgewater, Bob and Sue were great Cabins and docks were nice Everty thing is well kept

Beautiful, natural location at the confluence of the White and Buffalo Rivers Lovely cabins; spotless, well maintained The owners and staff are fantastic–friendly, always helpful, and customer-/service-oriented

My husband LOVED the guided trout-fishing opportunities, and we brought home his catch to enjoy We look forward to returning!

Rob Danly

We stayed in their newest cabin this trip This place has never disappointed but this cabin was above nice The staff is terrific and service beyond good

Fishing is always good, even for the novice with minimal experience I would always recommend a guide if trout fishing and running a boat is new to you but overall this place is a Goto spot for sure

Front desk was really nice They only had a suite on the first floor and I had an oxygen machine to get up to my room However, the elevator was out and they put me in the first floor suite at the price for my original room which was a nice discount! The hotel is in a great location with a nice sports bar restaurant within walking distance

Maria Ibarra

Being from out of town, took us a while to find a good motel The one we wanted is being remodeled QUALITY INN is high on our families list, because it is clean, comfortable and very accommodating

The staff have all been friendly, clean in appearance & helpful! We don’t mind the no elevator quality because everything else makes up for it! Our room, bedding, linens, restroom was very clean and this means alot to us! Thank you Quality Inn, your name does say it all! Be back again! My family enjoyed our 3 day stay!

Lindsoal Brown

This is not a negative review so plz dont take it that way quality inn, we just put a normal rating because the stay was normal The place was clean and tidy and the staff was nice but we cant stand the mini ackwardly stiff pillows on the bed and the beds retain alot of body heat while sleeping The walls are paper thin and the person next to our room blared the tv around midnight so sleep was pretty awful

Still its fine to stay here, just ok but our experience wasnt good

We could not have asked for a better experience Our server Tabitha earned our utmost respect and appreciation She was amazing and made us feel welcomed from the moment we sat down

We had the beer cheese dip as an appetizer and I treated myself to a bowl of the french onion soup Both my wife and I were extremely delighted at how they tastedWe both ordered steaks and they were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right We over indulged so we had plenty of leftovers Tabitha talked us into getting a piece of the peanut butter pie I am glad she did as it was delicious
