B T (Lord Turnage)

I stayed here for a work thing, as it was convenient to the highway — but this may be a destination locale for a special trip! Why pay $$$$ for a hotel on the beach where you DON’T get fast service, plenty of super clean room, a cold and empty mini fridge, and a delicious breakfast? Just stay here! I was in my room within 3 minutes of arriving Plenty of useful-but-not-in-the-way furniture in the room All the accoutrements– iron (which I used, thank you very much), hairdryer (which I did not), mini-fridge, good-smelling soaps and lotions (with the offer to provide anything I forgot), and a super-comfy and clean bed

I was out like a light Breakfast was unexpectedly good — good coffee, hot sausage, BISCUITS AND GRAVY!!!, pre-made omelettes, pancakes, cereal, bagels, yogurt — seriously, why would you stay anywhere else??Room and bathroom were both very cleanWe reserved a small conference room (which was weirdly on the 3rd floor in an odd area, but the front desk attendant came in with a fresh pot of coffee and was super friendly Wasn’t big at all (maybe 10’x20′?), but worked for what we needed

Eboni Montenegro

This 2 star hotel exceeded my expectations! The rooms were clean, Chris and his staff were not only friendly but accommodated our group with ease We were visiting for the weekend for a basketball ball tournamentThe breakfast was not too bad either, better than I’ve had at most hotels

I would highly recommended if you need a clean space on a group trip with kids

Eva Schoolcraft

The beds are sooooo comfortable!! I love soft beds The mattress, pillows, and comforter were all extra soft and hugged my bodyThe rooms were very clean! And I loved the modern style and decor, in the room and throughout the hotel

The room had blackout curtains, which was very helpful for sleeping in!I enjoyed the free breakfast, I had lite apple juice, pork sausage links and sausage patties, an orange, and blueberry Chobani yogurtThe process to unlock the room door is longer than normal The employees will demonstrate it at the front desk, so you want to ask for that demonstration upon check-inThere was some chipped paint on our door and some rust scars in the tub by the drain where enamel had been scrapedI would definitely stay here again

My husband and I stayed here for Father’s Day weekend and it was great! The house itself is very charming and clean The entire property is beautiful and well kept with excellent landscape and a water feature that makes for a very relaxing sitting area While we didn’t take advantage of it, the availability of bikes, beach towels, coolers, chairs, and umbrellas for the beach was awesome

Noted for next time that we can save space and not pack our own I loved the filtered water available in the fridge which made it easy to refill our reusable water bottles! Rosie was very personable and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed We will definitely be back the next time we’re in the area! Thanks again Rosie, Justin and I loved your place!

We just spent a wonderful weekend at Banyan House Rosie and Brett are amazing hosts and make their guests feel at home Our morning started with mimosas and a home cooked breakfast and no detail was missed

The rooms and grounds are beautiful with amenities including hot tub, pool, fitness room, and billiards They even have umbrellas at the front door if needed (and we did!) It was a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere and hope to return in the future

Rain Bitton

My boyfriend and I stayed here for Memorial Day weekend and we could not be happier with our decision on choosing the Banyan House! We stayed in the Palmetto room and it was so adorable and was exactly as pictured on the website Everything about the house was amazing, the decor, the pool, the hot tub, the grounds were gorgeous! It felt like a tropical getaway for sure!!Rosie was such a nice lady as well, she gave us a tour of the house and grounds upon our arrival She was very welcoming and an overall great person

We definitely were sad to leave after our mini vacation, and we we can’t wait to come back to the Banyan House!

We have been to our spot three times in the last year We absolutely love it Pam has been an excellent host

If you need resort style living, this isn’t for you It’s quiet, private, and gorgeous The pool is perfect temperature, and the poolside tables with charcoal grills are perfect for a quiet Florida evening after spending the day at the beach Location is close to Nokomis beach and Venice I hope they’re there forever, because we love it that much

BEWARE!!!!!! My stay was “poor” because it didn’t even happen No one was available to check me in and the voicemail box was full for the number that was posted in the office to call I then received a text which led to a call to get my room number and entrance code without any verification of my identity

Definitely wasn’t feeling safe at that point Entered room to find it was disgustingly filthy, lightbulbs burned out, huge gap in the door where I watched a large lizard and a few bugs crawl in The bedspread appeared to have feces and blood stains on it The pillows smelled like sweaty body odor The toilet didn’t flush The walls were filthy The pool was roped off with caution tape and a sign was posted that Sarasota County had prohibited swimming in it The sign at the main entrance reads Nokomis Inn, yet on bookingcom the property was advertised as Sarasota Getaway Inn And that’s a much better name for it, really GET AWAY as far and as fast as you can before you enter this INN because they will ignore your calls and emails if you find it as deplorable as I did and choose not to stay and wish to be refunded!!!

Yes, That’s A Grub Worm.

♥️♥️ I found this gem last summer, 2021 due to my own homes plumbing problems and needed a place to stay for a week

uhhhh 9 weeks later, I legit had to force myself to check out! The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and the location for outa towners is wonderful and walking, bike, scooter etc distance from Nokomis Beach, specialty shops, ice cream, restaurants, drum circle etc anything salt life + more all within mile radius And of course, few hundred feet away sits aWAWA Gas/Food Station which offers plethora of hot n cold food and drink24 7 365Upon entering my room, I instantly smelled april freshness and thats 1 of my 1st wonderful memories Each room was decorated beach life style, but had different color schemes and the whole layout of the propertyI couldn’t have drawn it up better had someone paid me zillion$$$ to do that! Cuz it’s a loop drive way, with pool in the middle, but along with pool and tile decking, lounge chairs, tables with umbrellas, sits sand galore with BBQ grills, palm and coconut trees galore, and a beautiful large tiki hut where I watched guest after guest enjoy their dinners, drinks and vacations! Hammocks galore too! And in the back of property, sits a few more units along with yet anothersandy palmy hammocks galore layout for kids to play in and adults to chillaz in!Simply amazing vibe henceI couldn’t check out! My daughter and her friends would come visit and stay there too and they all too loved it like I did I legit could type into next year all the wonderful things, people I met, my walks to beach with my pup and so much more! Pam, Marlon, Gary and the 2 Tommysare forever etched into my world-o-nostalgia now! 💜😘

We really liked this hotel, it was very clean and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating to all of our needs There wasn’t room service while we were there they are short on help right now, so that was kind of a bummer if we needed towels or anything we had to go to the front desk and the ask for themThe breakfast was really good

Every morning there was a huge selection of items to choose from Bacon or sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy Pancakes or waffles that you made yourself (the pancakes were very good) they had a selection of juices, oatmeal, grits, cold cereals, bagels, English muffins, toast, yogurt, fruit cups, coffee, hot chocolate, tea and many other things I’m probably forgetting It was goodSometime in the afternoon/evening they make these cookies and set them out on the front desk They are really yummy! Don’t miss out on those 😊Overall this hotel was really nice and we would definitely come back and stay again!

Tommy M

I cannot begin to describe how well I was treated when I first arrived at this hotel As the doors opened, Brittany B was at the front desk bubbly and cheerfully there to welcome us

She even offered to help with our bagsI mean who does that anymore Her hospitality and enthusiastic personality made our stay that much better The other staff was great as well However, in all aspects of our stay Brittany was there to accommodate our needs A positive attitude is contagious and let me tell you, I caught her positive energy quite quickly She was always busy doing something for the hotel; whether it be decorating the Xmas tree, cleaning up the breakfast area, greeting new customers, and so much more Being a school teacher myself, I feel the biggest compliment is a recommendation I highly recommend this hotel due to the cleanliness, positive attitudes, and BRITTANY! She literally brightened my family up each morning and evening and I wish there were more people in the world like her Thank you extended stay and thank yo Brittany! Happy holidays

Kay Medeiros

The rooms are big and have lots of potential I like feeling like I have plenty of room and not like I’m in a closet I also liked that they have little kitchenettes with stove tops

But this was by far the dirtiest room I’ve ever been in any I’ve stayed in many hotelsThe shower was disgusting to the point where I cleaned it and then cleaned it again and then ended up going to a different hotel and showering there instead I disinfected all but the floors and the amount of dust caked on top of the fridge was unbelievable mostly because they are big fridges but only bigger than your average hotel and there’s no possible way any human couldn’t reach the top to dust it off

Nicolette O (Nicki)

Tiny tiny roaches scurried to keep out of the light and out of sight when I opened the door I was worried I would have to face the big one that brought them into existence we never met, good thing too ‘cuz we would not be friends

The dog had fun chasing them around no complaints from her about more protein to her dietNice vending machines with many good snack options, and payment options They take cards too

I was very impressed because some of the reviews online were the opposite of my experience My husband The front desk staff was amazing thank you Patti and Matt for accommodating us

Also how you went above and beyond Our room was clean and bright, and the bed was heavenly Amazing pressure and very hot water for showering Clean towels and linens With a decent breakfast Thank you Port Charlotte we had a wonderful relaxed time

Kyle Walker

This hotel was okay Mediocre at best The gentleman that checked me in was very nice and I enjoyed chatting with him

The hotel room was average I read reviews about the water temperature and noted that, after some time, the sink water warmed up So when I took a shower, I waited quite a bit for it to become “Luke warm” I was in a rush so I took a quick shower that got “hot” for about 5 minutes before becoming FREEZING cold I got out quickly Also the drain did not work well so my “shower” quickly became a “bath” Breakfast is until “9:30” but I got there at 9 and almost all the food was gone and I could not find anyone to refill the food I tried to make a waffle and the mix was completely goneI got a good deal on this place at about ~$100 through the Hotel Tonight app I certainly would not pay more than $100 a night for this facility – It was the best price I could find in the area but I still feel a bit ripped off

David

The staff was very nice and helpful, there was always someone at the front desk, and complimentary breakfast every morning They also had coffee out all dayI didn’t use the pool or any of the other amenities, but they seemed adequate

The room seemed clean and didn’t have any obvious smells or stains A/C worked fine The only issue we had was that the walls are very thin and we had an extremely loud and rowdy neighbor who stayed up all night every night

We stayed in unit 42 Do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay here Spend your money down the road at the other beautiful places where they continue to update their rooms and ensure you have a beautiful stay

Unit 42 needs major updating It’s location is nice because you’re across from the beach However, their pool needs work Flowers around the pool or around the seating area outside would be a good start Places down the road have an oasis feel- this place feels like a cheap motel you stay at for a night while driving through Major renovations needed such as fresh paint, decor and in the kitchen/bathroom For the amount of money you’re spending you would imagine that they would make an effort to update the room, it’s terribleWe’ve been staying in this area for a long time and we’re extremely disappointed Will not be back- places down the road are WAY more beautiful

Char Wenzel

Stayed here with two friends We surely enjoyed it We stayed in Room 43 and it was perfect

I can not understand why I seen any negative results on this place Unless you’re just being really bougie, and in that case you need to stay at the Ritz Carlton This place is just steps from the beachYou can find lots of sharks teeth and other pretty shells I just love the friendly atmosphere at Casey Key(my happy place)

James Sweeney

Great little place for a getaway! Other then the drum circle (fun and laid back just a lot of drums not overly loud at all though lol) during sunset on the weekends its a very quiet place with close amazing access to the beach and some incredibly cool tiki bars and seafood spots within walking distance and short drives The rooms are cozy but not huge and the grounds and rooms were very clean Already booked a room for another long weekend later this year and can’t wait for it

Definitely could use to upgrade to smart tvs but other then that it was a homerun as far as value for the cost is concerned

My husband and I needed a place to stay for the night, we had some trouble trying to book the room and one of the staff members who was helping us, Anthony, gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite for all the trouble! The room was very clean and neat, the beds were very comfortable Great location as well, just a few minutes from the beach & lots of restaurants and stores near by! Not bad for the price either! 10/10 !!

We needed a hotel in the area for one night, and this was the cheapest with decent reviews that we could find It was FAR from cheap, however March means crazy high prices

The staff was welcoming, the room was ok but showed it’s age, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was decent but didn’t have nearly enough seating We would stay again if we needed a hotel in the area and prices were more affordable, but I wouldn’t seek it out specifically

Everything was great until the third day On the second day we elected not to have made service and only requested towels By the third day our floor needed to be cleaned and I personally asked the maid to make sure our room was serviced

We left for a few hours so that could be done and when we returned the staff and gone home and our room was not clean My wife went up to the front desk to see if we could have a room cleaned and she was informed that the front desk person was the only one here and we couldn’t have that done I’m 63 with a bad back but I went ahead and made the beds picked up all the towels took out the trash I think the biggest problem is that none of the maids speak English since I don’t speak Spanish there’s a big disconnect Everyone was really friendly except the girl at the front desk on the third day she was rude and I won’t be coming back here again

Did not use or stay at the Resort Sat next to a seawall across the street The Bayshore Live Oak Park is a lovely pocket park with restroom facilities, places to picnic and a great layground for kids

Enough parking in several lots add to its appeal

Great service with the van All of the workers were helpful and very polite Both in the restaurant and at the desk

We were there in November 2021 and went back for a five day trip in March This was our fourth trip to this hotel and we have never had a complaint The road noise on the east side rooms can be bad at times This is a close location to shopping , parks, and other restaurants Heading back in October

Where do I begin, the room we stayed in was below average The furniture was all beat up The bathroom had rubber stripping that was all tore up

The room smelled like a dirty wet dog I booked the room ahead of time for three guests and the room was supplied with 3 towels, 3 hand towels, and 1 wash cloth I went down to the front desk and requested 2 more wash cloths Two hours later I went to the front desk again to find out where the wash cloths only to be told that housekeeping refused to bring them up until morning I explained that wouldn’t work since we has an early flight the next morning and we wanted to shower that night and we needed them that night The front desk gave us two hand towels and told us to use those as wash cloths Really? Not what I expected Needless to say two people could not shower As we checked out the next morning I asked for the manager and I was told he was not available but would have him call me later No call I called the following day and was transferred to his voicemail and left a CD message Guess what, no return call I guess they don’t care about my experience! Very disappointing!

Just went for dinner to the All You Can Eat Friday night fish special The Fish & Chips is excellent here but the servers make it not nearly worth the visit We sat at the bar which was a huge mistake

The barkeep, Christine, is not cordial nor does she follow up to be sure customers have what they need, are happy, etc She is not the right person to have customer facing Will try again sitting at a regular table, but miss people like Tina who knew how to treat customers
