Had an incident of loud banging on a door at 1:30 in the morning and continued for some time and the police came and told the people in the room to open the door and they were to leave the premises They would not open the door and the noise quit I believe the police and hotel perso left

Would of thought we would have recieved some kind of compensation for our lost sleep

We were charged $8999, probably because we’re African American Don’t trust the website, wait until you actually get to the hotel to pay or reserve a room

My sister reserved a room with 2 queen size beds in the room and snaptravel charged her card instantly Then when we got to the hotel they said that she had a 1 bed in the room snaptravel refused to give a refund Online it says $56 when we got to the hotel we were charged $90 for each room The motel does not look nice for it to be that expensive it’s old & very tiny soap bars and little packets of shampoo The heat and air conditioner did not work in our room I’m pregnant and I woke up sneezing because I was so cold

Where to start? The website said they had a breakfast buffet Soon as I walk in I see a sign that says they don’t have ANY breakfast No muffins, no nothing

And the the first morning they didn’t even have cups out for juice or coffeeThe hotel is full of cigarette smoke DisgustingThe bed is ROCK hard and easily the most uncomfortable bed at any hotel I’ve ever encounteredMy AC unit is crazy loud and sounds like it has rocks bouncing around inside of it The towel quality is on par with the cheapest ones Walmart sells The carpet is dirty, the AC is plugged in with a giant extension cable going across the groundThe other hotel nearby is constantly booked so I may have to relocate to a nearby town

Tammy Zillmer

I normally don’t complain but there were some things that happened during my stay that just didn’t sit right with me Online, this hotel advertises that they have breakfast Nope! No pool or hottub! Looks like they have one but it is not operational

Shortly after I checked in, I heard my door open! I have no idea how or why someone was coming into my room! I opened the door and asked what was going on and a man said he was there to check out water damage around the window! I said, this doesn’t happen when a room is rented out for the night No knock or announcement that he was even coming in The towels looked and felt like they hadn’t been washed and there was hairs all over the hair dryer when I went to use it It looked like someone shaved or cut their hair and it was all over the dryer! So disgustingThe carpeting looked like it hadn’t been vacuumedThe staff all seemed very nice but I was completely disgusted with my stay

Summer Schlieckau

Honestly wish I could give no stars🫤 We checked into the room and it smells weird, it looks like they’re trying to fix it up but it doesn’t look like it was done professionally at all, there’s just a random chair right in front of one of the end tables and there’s barely any room in here for a chair in the first place It’s not clean, there’s some weird pizza sause stain on the bathroom door, snot in the bathroom next to the tissues, and the whole place just seems sketchy in general Too scared to check under the sheets to see how bad the bed looks

Wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t clean the sheets after the last people were in here Also, no pool😭

We stayed here during a move as tourists in our own town I can say I will always return to say hello and advise guests to book here The manager Angie is terrific and it shows in the staff, who are each lovely people and attentive caretakers

I cannot say enough good things about the staff and service and recommend it to anyone traveling to Northfield

Bailey Guillemette

EXTREMELY overpriced Like any mediocre hotel but advertised as something more Wouldn’t go back because of how over priced it is

My fiancé and I asked to spot his military discount and they told us they couldn’t because there was a graduation going on in town that weekend What kind of customer service is that???!!

Grace Gill

We had a wonderful time The staff was helpful and accommodating in keeping our three rooms together on the same floor We were able to check in a little earlier which allowed us to enjoy the pool sooner

The rooms were clean and comfortable Definitely a great spot for us

The Fairfield is a gem of a hotel in the heart of Northfield The patio and many rooms overlook the Cannon River The room rate includes breakfast in a cheerful space that connects to the hotel bar and restaurant

The hallways are wide, and the hotel is clean and contemporary with wide hallways and a boardroom off the spacious lobby The Fairfield is centrally located and a mile or less from many points of interest: St Olaf and Carleton Colleges; the Northfield Historical Society; historical St John’s Lutheran Church; Antiques of Northfield; Northfield Arts Guild Theater; and many shops and restaurants The staff are excellent and very responsive to the needs of their guests Our group required a block of rooms and Tammy made it easy for individuals to simply click on a link to make a reservation

We enjoyed every beautiful, thoughtful aspect of our visit- from the yard chickens, bee hive (bought hand made soap and honey), to the sweet cottage-like inn, with comfy beds and magnificent breakfast ❤ We’ll definitely be back! Hosts were gracious and friendly, but gave us our space It was perfect! Gave a 4 on location because of the busy road out front- Grounds near the Inn were gorgeous! (See pictures)

Charming suite and location!! We were very comfortable and felt right at home in this newly remodeled cottage There is plenty of sitting room between the suite, the parlour (with fireplace), and the screened porch We spent most of our free time reading in the porch and watching the birds flit around in the surrounding woods and the bird feeders

Breakfasts and the little cookies each night are fabulousThe hosts are very accommodating and flexible as we had to keep adjusting our schedule This will definitely be our “home base” when we visit Northfield in the future

Amy Peterson

I was invited to a noon tea at the Contented Cottage and it was fantastic! The food was amazing (I will be dreaming about those scones) and the hospitality was wonderful I loved all of the attention to detail that made the tea so special: fancy tea cups, antique tea pots, cute napkins and place settings

it was all so much fun I can’t wait to go again

Janet and Steve are amazing campground owners, who take pride in their campground and it shows! Bathroom/shower rooms were remodeled a few years ago and are always well kept and clean Playground was also updated a few years ago, and our kids love it! The pool is a huge plus, great for all ages! The grounds are always well kept and clean, and the lot sizes are much larger than a lot of other campgrounds I’ve gone to around the area The office is adorable with lots of items to purchase (snacks, clothing, home goods, etc) Campground is close to town, but for enough away at the same time

We will definitely be coming back every year!

Mike brown

As many others have said, I felt like I was in jail and being watched by the warden on his golf cart I was told very sternly to stay off the grass, but sitting at my camper I could see 4 cars parked on the grass I was also told no rugs larger than 2’x3’ because they were trying to save the grass, but when you walk around the park there’s tents out in front of campers, there campers with wood decks and huge rugs in the grass…

but I can’t have oneThe worst part was the distance between the shared water hookup and the sewer hookup was the largest I’ve ever seen at a campground If you stay here you’ll need 25’ of water hose and 25’ of sewer hose I could only hook up to water for the night as I couldn’t reach the sewer at the same time (15’ hose)Looking at other campers, they had 3 10’ hoses hooked together to make the span to the sewerThe pool was nice But it is absolutely not heated at all It was 85 degrees when we stopped and couldn’t stay in pool for more than 15 minI do not recommend this place

Grace Jaeger

Park is very peaceful midweek But from Friday thru Monday it is packed The sites are extremely close together and poorly designed

The weekends brought rowdy people into the campground and filled the pool area with kids and adults cannon balling into the pool It says the pool is heated on the website but it wasn’t heated at all Could have used it The pool is an old design and the steps going into it were dangerousThe showers were dingy and you had to pay for them I couldn’t figure out how much it would cost for a decent shower as there was no info on that About 2/3 of the park were long term campers Water pressure was terrible and water was cloudy A neighbor advised us not to use surge protectors on the electric or power wouldn’t work Trees were in need of trimmingThe laundry area was poorly designed with washers on one end of the room and dryers on opposite wall at the other end No carts to move wet clothes between them And no folding areaWe would not stay again

I found quite a few things to do and explore in and around the Faribault areaSo this is the place I chose for our “Base Camp”I literally called at 7 pm on 3/18/22

Booked the last room on the 1st floor with 2 queen beds Thank you to our receptionistThey offer a free breakfast in the morning, starting at 6 am They also have Snack & ice machines, cable TV, a pool, then best of all, they are dog friendly! 😃This is going to be a weekend for us all to rememberThere will be reviews of the other places over our little trip Feel free to check it out My trip of saved places is public & titled “Chasing Waterfalls and such!”

Raeleen R

I would give this hotel a higher star rating, but I got bit by bedbugs while staying there and that is huge point of concern The front desk staff apologized, however there was never any follow up from the manager or even an offer of discount for our room payment I would not recommend this hotel to anyone else because bed bugs are such an awful thing to deal with and can be brought home with you in your stuff

I had to wash all of our clothes and dry it on the hottest cycles and then leave our bags out in the garage for a while to make sure none came into our home

Ruth Jimmerson

Both rooms had tubs that wouldn’t drain and ours had a toilet that ran loudly throughout the night Carpets throughout the place and in the rooms were stained Towels in rooms and pool area were old and felt oily and unclean

People staying were having altercations and leaving rooms open to shout back and forth to one another One guy roaming around in his underwear Just not good – felt like a poorly maintained men’s frat house or dormitory

Went down for a wedding and spent 2 nights here in 2 different rooms First room was a suite, working fridge, microwave, dishwasher and fireplace with different colors in it Very spacious room, separate bedroom with a poolside view

I slept on the pull out bed which I found to be comfortable Separate air conditioning for the livingroom space and bedroom which was very nice Second night, was a regular room Also very comfortable but I did find some food residue left under the desk there from a past guest Pillows and bed was very comfortable and the refrigerator, coffeemaker, and TV were all in working order Desk staff was very pleasant to work with and greeted us every time we walked in or out the front doors I’ve added pictures of the pool/jacuzzi area

This hotel was okay, but not for the price The “water park” is a joke There aren’t very many pictures of it on the website for a reason

There’s a little splasher area and one water slide The pool doesn’t go deeper than 3ish feet, and it is NEVER on unless you walk all the way out to the front desk and wait for someone to come along so you can request it be turned on There is only one elevator in the building and it’s right by the pool, so it stinks like corn chips and dirty, wet feetOur room had candy on the floor when we got there The toddler found one right away, and then we found a few more plus a lot of crumbs in the carpet We left a couple bags of ice in the tub to melt overnight and they left rings in the grime inside the tub One of the TVs in our room didn’t have a working remote We filled out the requests for our stay ahead of time, but we didn’t get any extra pillows or towels When the room is reserved for more than 2 people, why aren’t there more than two towels? The staff was nice They did have a little area where you could buy snacks or microwavable things We were able to go to the front desk every single time to ask for coupons when we wanted to eat in the restaurant, which made the kids’ food free

I came out for a business meeting and when I came back to the hotel after the meeting the room had already been cleaned and $300 of my money was stolen from the roomDon’t use this hotel theirs no safe to keep your belongs in and the house keeping will steal your money or anything of VauleAs a business owner myself this is so unprofessional

Make sure to never stay here I’ve been in plenty of hotels and never had anything stolen, especially money!Bad for business you guys should make sure you hire people that are more trustworthy and do better background checks!

We had a wonderful stay here! We drove down from Minneapolis for a weekend getaway, and everything was lovely The owner was so accommodating and sweet, and the breakfast (with vegetables from her own garden) was outstanding! You can tell so much love and care goes into this place, too It’s a real gem

Thank you for the fantastic time!

I had an opportunity to stay last week at the Historic Hutchinson House B&B, and what a wonderful and pleasant experience it was The home is absolutely beautiful with incredible woodwork and is very tastefully decorated Hosts Tami & Doug Schluter and their pup Louie greeted me upon my arrival and instantly made me feel at home

They are very gracious hosts and welcomed me with open arms and briefly covered everything I needed to know and make for a very pleasant stay I stayed in the Johnson’s Pride room which was very spacious, nicely decorated, and with all the necessary comforts Tami prepared a delicious wild rice quiche, granola and fruit parfait, and fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast served in the dining room with the other guests Very pleasant experience I would highly recommend staying with Tami and Doug at the Historic Hutchinson House B&B if you are ever in the area, and I plan to stay again next year as I travel to Minnesota lake country for vacation

Sarah Johnson

Staying at the historic Hutchinson House was a wonderful experience My boyfriend and I love old architecture and this place was full of historic touches Beautiful

Tami and Doug were amazing Both were a wealth of knowledge about the home, area, and things to do Tami called the Woolin Mill and informed them we would be there for the tour The Mill crew knew us by name which was cool and head tilting at the same time Breakfast was delicious I believe I have expanded my breakfast belly by at least double, but it was worth it Thank you all for making the best first B&B impression for me We will be back 🙂

I recently stayed there while attending a high school reunion The cabins are rustic and comfortable & the view of the lake is outstanding We had a lakeside cabin

wonderful location out I must say in the middle of nowhere But that was part of the charm It is a combination rental cabin and RV campsite We stayed in one of the cabins and the accommodations were quite satisfactory There is a restaurant bar combo on site that served excellent farm fresh wonderfully prepared meals at very reasonable prices I must make it a point to give a shout out to the service I received from everyone I encountered including the owner Pam These people made you feel welcome That kind of stuff makes a difference when people are truly just being nice I would definitely recommend it and I would definitely stay there again if I’m ever in that part of the country

Having a business you would think you would always, and I mean always carry yourself by being upfront honest and straight to the point and not blowing smoke up people’s you know what you should be able to tell things as they are are be up front And honest and never waste anybody’s time but unfortunately This is not so much the case here I will leave it at that My last review that I just edited here

I realized it was a very very badly worded review being as I was voice to texting while I did it I am voice to texting this one also so some of the punctuation is not here but at least the wording is correct By the way Pam I will not speak with you on this review , maybe just take this review as an eye opener and to Change the ways you interact with people and do things there, no matter what the scenario may be

Great hotel! The room was spacious and clean Reasonable rate tooOnly 2 complaints if you can call them that

The blanket was too thick and heavy for my taste Better than the usual thin blankets at most hotels though, and the breakfast was a little sparse Once again, it was good but less than the usual spread at other placesYes, we will be staying there again

MIchele Buckley

We’ve stayed in this hotel several times now This past 2 times we were not impressed at all The staff was rude to our team, constantly telling them to stop running around the hotel, even though they were either in the pool or just walked in the door

My son had just walked out of our room when he was stopped and told a doctor and nurse are staying there, so they needed to be quiet There were 6 other teams staying there and we had the first floor The breakfast was pathetic and when they ran out of stuff they didn’t have anything to replace it Juice, milk, coffee, hot water, simple things They should’ve planned based on the reservations that were made Also we attempted to have pizza in the breakfast area after a late game, they turned the lights off on us, refused to let us use the conference room and told us it’s bed time It was not even pool closing time I canceled my reservation for our final tournament and will not make another reservation there again And when we complained about a team that was banging on our doors at 12:30 am they did nothing about it, 2 years in a row

Colleen Houghtby

We stayed here for a friends 60th birthday It was super busy as there were lots of families for baseball tournaments as well as a Family reunion Jessica was the only person at the front desk

That lady deserves a raise She remained calm, professional, kind and helpful She went out of her way to be sure we were taken care of! Now for the room…there were still dishes in the dishwasher, clean but not in the cupboards The air was set to 58 degrees which we discovered when we woke up freezing The breakfast had a lot of variety but being it was so busy we chose to go get breakfast elsewhere All in all we enjoyed ourself and had it not been for Jessica things may not have been as good
