Sometimes it’s not how good a product or place is, but how well a company responds to problems I had a lot of issues with noise and lack of amenities while at this hotel, but after a few emails and me describing some specific issues, they refunded my money I’ve always loved Marriott so I’m happy to give them a 5 star review despite the issues

They still have some things to work out, but I’m hopeful that my feedback will help get those issues resolved I know they will One note: The highway is right there, so if you’re a light sleeper like me, get a room at the backside of the hotel, facing the junkyard, NOT the highway I know, not a great view, but I slept like a baby on that side Breakfast is as good as always, so if you need a clean place with convenient access to everything, a meal, and maybe a pool to swim in, the Fairfield delivers Thank you Fairfield managment and Marriott!

We enjoyed our stay here My family stayed in the 2 queen suite with pullout couch The beds were comfortable

Shower pressure was strong The breakfast was okay They had a variety to choose from each morning There was always coffee in the lobby as well We stayed here to visit NYC, which was about 30 min with traffic to the Staten Island ferry Which I highly recommend My youngest daughter enjoyed the pool as well Water temps were comfortable… the hot tub could have been a little warmer To access the pool and fitness area you need to have the front desk personnel key you in, which u thought was weirdThey do not provide bedding for the pullout couch so u need to call down for that but they are prompt once called The road it’s on is quite busy but I honestly didn’t hear any traffic until late morning I would stay here again

I used to think of Holiday Inn Expresses as no-frills but pleasant stays Not anymore The room reeked of mold and mildew with damp carpet and blankets

I tried desperately to sleep and woke up at 4 AM unable to sleep anymore because of the moldy smell, finding mold on the window I could feel the cells of disease growing in my body because of the mold On the positive side, the breakfast was good, the room was clean except for the mold, and the check-in woman was nice The breakfast area was extremely hot and unpleasant, however The jacuzzi in the pool area was too cold and had an unbearable amount of chlorine that stung my eyes I can see from the other reviews the hotel staff lie in response to that allegation and state some part of the pool is broken – clearly not true A horrible place to which I vow to never return and couldn’t wait to come home to advise others to steer clear – unless you love breathing mold through your nose and mouth all night

bevin holcroft

This place was horrible! By far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! Our “suite” smelled of old cigarettes and fresh marijuana There were children screaming and running up and down the halls until after 1:30am When I checked out at 4am to catch a flight, there was were suspicion dealing going on out of the front of the hotel

Do not stay here!!! My in-laws stayed at the comfort inn and had a very nice night, I suggest that as a much better option!

I stayed at SpringHill Suites before and after flights to and from a week long vacation The rooms are very nice and the hotel is very convenient to the airport There was a strange smell in the hallways, but the rooms were fine

It’s great that they provide shuttle service and even have a discounted parking rate if you don’t want to park at the airport The shuttle to the airport was incredibly easy The one back to the hotel was significantly more difficult, and took a long time to get to The front desk staff was very friendly, but service was very slow If I had another flight out of Newark, I’d definitely consider staying here again, but not without looking more closely at some of the other nearby hotels offering similar convenience

Dwayne Smith

The SpringHill Suites New Jersey was a pretty good value overall Me and my wife stayed there

The hotel itself was a little dated Which I was gladly overlooking because it was very clean The free breakfast in the morning very flavorful and hot Footnote the pool and the whirlpool are both closed due to covid still The price of the room was on point with the amenities of the room Definitely would go back again definitely would recommend

Kolei Robinson

I have stayed here probably 10 times and will continue to choose this location The staff is friendly and efficient Every single time I’ve stayed here they make the check in process super easy

The rooms are so clean and spacious The amenities they provide far outweigh their great pricing Free continental breakfast and airport shuttle Highly recommend!

After standing in line for 2 hours at the airport I was given a voucher at 2am to stay here ZEKE AT THE FRONT DESK does not represent what I thought customer service and Marriott treatment came with He treated us poorly

He disregarded our vouchers with his exact hotel and address on it He was the exact worst person I’ve ever encountered in hospitality He also tried to prevent the shuttle that he sent to pick us up to drop us back at the airport

The bed was not comfortable never got upgraded no microwave was in the room Never was addressed for being a Titanium member Just handed me my keys and I had to ask where the elevator was

I was not told about anything The customer service was not friendly at all The young lady in the Bistro was very niceUpon check out at 2:30 in the am the two ladies at the front desk were not very inviting They seemed like they didn’t want to be bothered Being that I work night audit I look at other people when I stay at Marriott property and try to add or not do some of the things I see The rooms were very clean A+ housekeeping And promptly bringing towels was a plus Customer service and being friendly needs work

The room was a good size, but the carpet was extremely dirty and sticky They say they steam clean all rooms which have had dogs, can’t possibly believe that’s true The halls and rooms are filled with a foul smell, mildew foul odor

Getting fresh towels, linen, even soap-one has to fill out a form at the front desk, CRAZY! Just to have your room clean one must give a 24 hour notice, and if the front desk forgets to schedule it in their log book, they contradict the customer, saying since it’s not scheduled, no cleaning can be be done until the following day I tried rectifying this by scheduling in advance, cleaning service everyday, I was shocked to be told by the front desk, I wasn’t allowed to schedule my room clean everyday! Don’t bother to ask for cleaning service during the weekends, apparently there isn’t any This Hilton, needs new management, new paint, new room furniture and new carpets The breakfast area is okay, but the floors are extremely sticky And no it’s not just during breakfast time, I walked over around 3 pm for a cup of coffee and everyday the the floor was sticky Bring a pair of sandals, don’t let your babies walk barefoot, the carpets are super super smelly and extremely unhygienic I would say the hotel does have comfortable beds and ONE lady, at the front desk, seems to be the only one who knows how to be professional and tries hard to help guests Other than that, the hotel should not be classified as part of the “Hilton” brand

Laprecious Wright

Hotel was in a perfect location especially for my planned attractions There was an odor outside of the hotel that was sickening but inside was pleasant with a great smell Each floor has selected days that rooms are serviced

Washcloths and towels are not provided daily unless a request is made by noon each day, which is an inconvenience Hotel did run out of towels and washcloths which was also an inconvenience especially to paying guest

Philip McLaughlin

Received phone call from hotel while driving to get there Was told the accessible room I reserved was not available No explanation why

Was given room with 2 dbl beds instead of king size and no walk-in shower Wife has had both knees replaced and has trouble getting into tub even with grab bars Breakfast was so-so, eggs with peppers (don’t like peppers) No fresh cut fruit the 2nd day No waffle maker One elevator out of order leaving only one elevator for entire building (3 floors) Only 2 staircases for building AC worked very well

This hotel is close to Cape Liberty for cruising Only 30 minute drive Have stayed here one time prior years ago

The entire hotel has been renovated and looks beautiful Prices are competitive The hot breakfast was great, so many choices from waffles to oatmeal, yogurt, eggs, and more The restaurant in the hotel is VERY pricey even for everyday items Overall a great stay!

Very clean and spacious rooms However, service was lacking – specifically asked for the room to be cleaned and no one cleaned it Also had a kettle in the room with no base

When asked, they told us they would check tomorrow Then we had to ask again the next day to follow up and they told us they didn’t have kettles in the rooms anymore so it shouldn’t be thereBreakfast is subpar and does not vary – would be improved with more fruit options and reduction in processed foods

For the record, I am a Best Western Diamond member, and I’ve probably stayed at fifty or more different Best Western Hotels I love giving good reviews, and I hate giving bad ones, which I have done My philosophy is to be honest when the emperor has no clothes

This is a good review of The Hub Murray Hill, BW Premier Collection, Address: 535 Central Ave, New Providence, NJ 07974I stayed here for two nights in late March 2022, for the first time This is a hotel in transition from a Best Western hotel to what is now called a boutique hotel There are many obvious upgrades and a couple of hiccups that need to be adjusted Here’s the key thing, management (Mishko) is very responsive to guest needs Checking in and out was easy-peasy and parking was plentifulThe important stuff My room was spacious with a king-sized bed The mattress was delightful, the pillows exquisite, and the bed linen was excellent The Samsung TV was larger and of better quality than any in any BW hotel I’ve been to The channel selection was a bit better than average The heating was excellent And the room was set up for the latest technology, including a wireless charger HICCUP: There was no safe in my roomThe bathroom and shower were commodious, although, as is the new BW style, there was a need for more shelf space on the vanity HICCUP: The shower needed one or two bars for safety purposes Sometimes people get dizzy and need something to grab HICCUP: The was no place to hang a towel for reuseI enjoyed the coffee in the nicely appointed lobby I was able to comfortably socialize with friends There was also a library of books and a small business center HICCUP: The first two times I went for coffee the urn was emptyThe area is pleasant and there are many fine places to dine We enjoyed breakfast one morning at the Prestige Diner, ask for Gabriel and on the second morning, we picked up bagels at the Bagel Café and ate them in the lobby We also had sandwiches from the nearby Jersey Mike’s that were quite goodI recommend this hotel, without reservations, and I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I didNOTE: I rated this hotel with 4 stars Given the opportunity, my ratings would be 45 Stars

Stayed for a night The studio room was good Breakfast had plenty of options

My only issue was that I couldn’t find a courtesy shuttle from the airport, there were no instructions on the hotel website about a shuttle When I called the hotel, they told me to get on some train and come to a pickup point Customers new to EWR airport and many luggage items will find it difficult I wish they can pick up from the arrival level near the bus stop or cab pickup Going from hotel to airport was easy, I asked them to drop me at the departure terminal and they did The hotel did not have a restaurant, but there is IHOP and Ruby Tuesday at 1 min walk

Weilun C

Standard room just like every Residence InnVery nice hotel front staffHowever, the hotel itself is noisy, airplanes, port noises, cars, and truck driving by noises

you name it Restless night :(Also, there were pet hairs, funky restroom smells inside the room 119

Stars Ny

Pet fee is extra $150+ tax Same price with the room Thing is there is no extra service or facility for your pet

But just double priceYou can find the dog day care or over night pet care service less than $ 80 near this hotel QSo if you looking for the hotel, stay with your pet This is not the place spend your money Not worthy

Let me start off by saying I am a fan at staying at this embassy suites location because almost always I am greeted by welcoming faces all around, but Friday was very differentAfter a long day I wanted to grab a meal at the restaurant in the hotel, the server Danny was extremely helpful with the menu, and overall was great as she tackled table after table I did notice the chef was very rude to her and another gentleman

While I was eating I heard some things fall, and seen the person in the kitchen throwing pans It was a concerning sight because the energy from her was felt throughout the entire restaurantOverall I love the embassy suites, and I do enjoy the service but this was one of the first days I did not finish my meal It was very undercooked, and too greasy for my liking I’m hoping for some improvements moving forward because usually the restaurant is one of the best parts of staying at this hotelI do give credit to the server that was working, she is one reason I am still willing to give this hotel/restaurant one more chance

Hugh W

The staff at this location is super nice, friendly, helpful and professional The overall perception of the employees, everyone works as a team making this Hotel the place to stay The lobby is very spacious, the complimentary breakfast is on point, the rooms are a decent size for a family of five and lots of outdoor parking spaces

I recommend and definitely will stay here again

I have been coming here for years If you decide to stay here you won’t be let downRoom was very nice and clean Staff friendly and very approachable Location convenient to airport via just a short drive, it is walking distance to a very large Mall and to restaurants I didn’t need to test wifi while I was there so I’m unable to provide any information on that

As a Hilton fan, we are a bit disappointed The check in was very smooth, staff was very friendly and helpful Room was very comfortable, great view, but be awarded pictures can be misleading

outdoor pool is not as fancy and big as we expected, a lot of people using it daily( at least when we were there), patio is part of the restaurant for outdoor dinning, cant just go in there and enjoy the seating parking is not free, will cost you 18 dollar per night no microwave at all in the room or lobby Breakfast was not impressive Staff were nice, but really short staffed do your calculation before booking

Samantha help us book our wedding block rooms and sent up complementary champagne with my wife’s name on the label, as well as chocolate covered strawberries She was so great to work with and the hotel couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful They even helped us when her ride to the wedding didn’t show up and she was dressed in her wedding dress waiting to go to the ceremony

The hotel stepped up with their Hilton Honors Cadillac and got her there in time for the ceremony Thank you for making our stay so special and memorable

Nate B

Ok this hotel is very very nice in regards to the rooms Recently renovated however they charge 18$ a night for parking AND make sure you double check the bill! They might double charge you If you’re Hilton honors the 15$ meal credit is essentially worthless for breakfast

Coffee is 7$ and They charge 20$ on average for their meals which are merger at best! I would skip this Hilton location and go to their Home 2 down the road with free99 breakfast AND free parking

Stayed 7 nights bc I was having work done on house We extended stay so we had to switch rooms In each room, furniture was broken

No ironing boards in either room Shower still in 1 room was not very clean No extra roll of toilet tissue & no garbage pail in room Just essentials missingHowever, the people that did breakfast, did a terrific job Clean, well organized Plenty for all & it was crowded Staff very friendly & accommodatingRooms need to be maintained much, much better

Cori Frede

The room was a nice size with plenty of outlets (often a problem in hotels) but was really run down The carpet was stained and the walls were dirty The shower needs a good scrubbing and a shelf or two

When I went to grab something from the car, I smelled a burning smell on my walk back in and noticed smoke coming from the wood chips by the plants I told the front desk and she said it was probably smokers that didn’t dispose of a cigarette but she went immediately called for someone to go check In fact, the friendliness of the staff was the only real positive of my stay It was only one night so I didn’t complain but I doubt I’d stay at this location again It was not up to the Hampton Inn standardSide note: The noise from the highway was loud all night If you do stay here, maybe ask for a room on the other side of the building Not sure if it will help, but it can’t hurt

We arrived and was given a room that upon first entry was clean and it appeared everything was fine The room happened to be on the side with a lot of street traffic, which made sleeping the first night completely impossible That next morning, we realized the a/c didn’t work properly and we had an unwanted “guest” (rhymes with coach!) in our bathroom

We spoke with Amanda at the front desk and she was able to move us to the opposite side of the hotel room we were in THAT room was also clean, a/c worked and sleep that night was great! Breakfast selection was nice Amanda is the reason I’m able to give this hotel a better rating than I would have if we stayed in the room we were given

Thallis Miranda

We were very disappointed, I have never left a bad review in any of the dozens of hotels I’ve stayed through the country or world Lights weren’t working, service at front desk neglected to take requests Other customer complaining constantly, one gentleman checked in his room and small daughter to find blood stains on bed sheets

Last time we stayed there we loved it (about 2 years ago) seems like no updates have been done at all since, neither has any repairs There was puke in the entrance sink to the room The paper towel at the lobby men’s bathroom was empty for all 4 days we stayed there Breakfast was dry and cold, attendant didn’t care much when advised about breakfast essentials such as cups and food ran out We paid the same price for what we could’ve paid staying in Manhattan Unfortunately we will not be recommending this hotel neither will we be returning again

Mario Jones

The rooms in this place are extremely out dated and unsanitary However the ladies at the front desk were extremely nice and helpful, that’s the reason why I gave this place at least (2) star’s The breakfast was non existent, no juice only water, nothing but cereal and bread, a few old stale bagels and boiled eggs

We used to love this place, but I can’t imagine recommending this place any longer to my company HR department when our travelers fly into liberty airport

My wife and I set up a hotel block of rooms for our wedding at the Holiday Inn Clark on July 16, 2022 We worked with Lori, who went above and beyond to ensure all of our needs were met for all of our guests She was always available to take our calls when we wanted to change/ask questions

The check in process went extremely smooth and quick Cecilia the bartender of the hotel restaurant was absolutely fantastic for our hotel after party We even did a group breakfast buffet the next morning in a private room that was absolutely delicious! If you are looking to stay at a hotel in the Clark area we highly recommend this hotel!!!!

The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful I wasn’t able to take advantage of the pool or exercise area but both looked goodThe breakfast was a typical continental breakfast, pre-prepared and warmed pancakes, eggs, sausage, and hash browns; apples, oranges, and yogurt

Apple juice in containers, coffee and hot water for tea – but this was provided at a cost of $15 (incl taxes) per person, which I find exorbitantIn the room there was not hot water at the sink, but the shower was warm The room was clean and comfortable The TV worked I read a review that indicated there were wood floors in the rooms, but mine was carpetedThe lock at the door was repaired from what looked like a forced entryI would stay again but I would not pay for that breakfast

I’ve stayed in this hotel about twice year for at least a decade As always, the hotel is clean and fresh and the staff is polite and helpful In the past the service in the restaurant had been good, too

But not this time Included in my room rate was a hot, cooked-to-order breakfast in the restaurant, and I’ve always enjoyed a fresh cooked omelet seated comfortably at a table This time, on Sunday there was only the barely warm food on the buffet available: scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage only Not the best, but at least a meal eaten comfortably at a table But on Monday, although there was a buffet set up, I was not even allowed into the restaurant I was told I could take a pre-wrapped sandwich out of the hotel store back to my room Maybe to reheat in the microwave? Really? That’s not what I paid for And no decaf K-cups or creamers available in the room Had to go back down to the lobby to get them Disappointing

Nice clean spacious rooms in a great location, the gym is well equipped as well There wasn’t a microwave, or fridge in the rooms which is a negative but doable seeing as the hotel also has a stocked bar that serves great food The reason for the 3 star review is a private event rented out the bar and kicked all paying hotel guests out, highly inconvenient and will affect my choices and recommendation in the future

Update: The bartender’s servers and other employees that I had the pleasure of interacting with deserve 5 stars, they are amazing people that are doing a fantastic job (even the bartender that said we could not be served because of the private event, he was fantastic the following night no hard feelings he was just doing what he was told) The place in general is 4 stars The rating is strictly off of general upkeep, there are a few blemishes that could use some professional touches to ensure the maintenance personnel are able to keep up a 5 star appearance

Stay away from this hotel This rooms were dirty, bathrooms were not clean, furniture was old and dinged Service was horrible

We got in at 11 am at night and there were 2 couples before us waiting for their room They were told that they couldn’t find their reservation Those poor people showed them that they booked thru Hilton Instead of talking to these people and apologizing that they double booked, the front desk called cops Long story short, same thing happened to us They couldn’t find our reservation and had double booked and gave our rooms to someone else, even though we are Hilton honor members and booked through Hilton website After an hour and a half, they gave us a room with a King ( we had reserved a queen- 2 adults and 2 kids) The room was dirty The floor was not clean Front desk had to go down and get us towels The bathroom was dirty as well and there was a half used shower gel left in the shower stallWe could not sleep at all as this room faced the garage and had unloading loading noises all throughout the night and early morning After talking to the front desk, they finally shifted to a room with two queens and gave us free breakfast, the next day which was niceThe room that they switched us to was clean but of course the furniture was old and had scratches and dings on it The front desk manager was nice told us that we wont be charged for that night as a courtesy and she apologized However, they charged us for NO SHOW for the first nightThis hotel has lot of problems Younger lady at front desk was very rude did not apologize They have horrible serviceIf they are negative ratings, I would give them a negative 10 Do yourself a favor and do not stay at this hotel The only good thing about this hotel was eclectic decor

The rooms were very clean, quiet and comfortable I had a room on the lower level facing the Garden State Parkway but thanks to the sound proof windows I could not hear the traffic The staff was great, especially Sebastian

The only downsides were that there is not a restaurant in the hotel, although they have a kiosk in the morning that sells coffee and light breakfast items However, there is an ACME within walking distance and tons of great restaurants just minutes away Try the Galloping Hill Inn in Union for an excellent hot dog! My only other downside was that they only clean the rooms and make the beds if you give them 24 hour notice that you would like your room cleaned

Thank you for honoring my request for late check-in My first room assignment was cancelled due to heavy smoke odor in hallway Front desk clerk made every attempt to accommodate

Thank you The fabric covered headboard in the second room assignment was mysteriously stained Please replace the mysteriously stained headboards It could cause the imagination to run wild Also, the top bed sheet reeked of fragrance very odd Since I’m highly sensitive to fragrances, this experience resulted in restless sleep and a severe migraine Due to my exhaustion level both at check-in and checkout, I had nothing else to spend Overall my quality of stay was voided mainly due to the fragrance issue Although a bit cramped, it wasn’t a huge issue for me Thank you Kenilworth Inn

Stayed one night before flying out of Newark Airport, using the fly and 7 day park package Very friendly staff at both check in and check out The room was not fancy, but relatively large and quite clean

Lots of parking on site, and the staff were efficient in ordering a complimentary Lyft to the airport (instead of a shuttle, as the driver was off shift) The coffee maker in the room was broken, but even that was a fairly positive experience as they had maintenance there within a few minutes to swap it out!

Having a great stay and this will definitely be my hotel of choice when I come back again for work Love having the kitchen in the room, though it’s honestly not even that necessary with the free breakfast and on week nights they give you a free drink ticket and some bread and cheese There are also a good handful of restaurants nearby and it’s right across from the PATH station

Great choice for any stay in the area

Stayed here for short trip to NYC

Check in was easy, room was double studio Everything in room was clean and in order upon arrival Desk staff was friendly and helpful Public transit right across street, very easy to hop a train into NYC A few different dinning options with in walking distance, plus on site resturant with dinner options Would stay again

We are staying here for five days The place could use a new living room set but otherwise it is a nice place to stay Manhattan hotels prices have become outrageous and since we’re traveling and visiting both Manhattan and Brooklyn this place seem to be Central to where we needed to be

We have the one bedroom apartment I wouldn’t call it a room because it has a bedroom, a living room a small dining area, small kitchen and a pretty decent bathroom If you want to be in Manhattan and don’t mind a 20-minute ride on the PATH train, this is the place besides when you’re coming to a vacation in New York you’re not planning on staying in the room anyway Customer service is great! I met the desk staff and the cleaning personnel The restaurants that are here “Ah Pizz” for pizza and Five Guys, and right downstairs there’s a restaurant on location here at the hotel and other stores and pub places nearby

I stayed at this hotel for one night Check in was smooth and the room was clean We stayed here because we were picking somebody up from the airport at 5 am and driving from Brooklyn did not make much sense

We truly only wanted a good night sleep However at 1 am there were guests who were being incredibly loud and we had to call the front desk twice and eventually got to sleep at 3 am I am not one to complain but there should have been some other option, a room change something I called after our stay to talk about it and see what options we had and were told that there was nothing they could do, not to mention it was difficult for 3 days after to get a hold of someone

Catherine Sharp

After I had a poor experience which I described in detail below, I called back today and the front office manager patiently let me tell her my entire story about the cancelled reservation and my refund She never once interrupted me, but kindly allowed me to explain as a customer, how my experience was on that day and the days following when dealing with staff at the Hilton She then was able to rectify the situation, which was so nice because at this point it is about principle to me

She was empathetic and respectful and more people like her should be in customer service

Suzanne Corey

Unfortunately since I’ve retired I haven’t been back to a Hilton but I used to frequent the Hilton hotels a lot in the early 2000’sBig difference now…and not to the better

Granted they still have their shuttle bus back and forth to the airport which is really convenientGone is the bigger restaurant where you could have a quiet enjoyable dinner and in its place is a bar with tables to have a mealKudos to their chef…I had a fantastic 16 ozrib eye steak cooked to perfection Their Caesar salad was also very fresh and the dressing outstanding!Hard time having a quiet dinner with loud drinking people at the barThe feather pillows in the room are always a welcome site! Some of the furniture looked like it came from a second hand store The ceiling had a BIG dried leak of some kind…how long does it take to repair and repaint a ceiling? And I guess the biggest bone of contention was the trying to get the room cooled down enough so I could sleep…ended up opening the windows!!’
