Overall, decent stay Pros: Room size is awesome! We were just staying for a couple days, but it would be super nice as a short term rental if needed Location was great for us & it’s easy to get to lots of restaurants & shopping

Cons: Room could use some better maintenance – the shower head was super corroded, especially for such a new hotel Breakfast was okaynot a lot of options You could get cereal, bread, waffles, bananas, or yogurt The waffles & cereal were all healthy options & whole grain so if you’re not super healthy, it would probably be difficult to find something to eat Definitely would be difficult with kids Lastly, this hotel is WAY over priced for what it isI mean, $300+ a night for a 2-star hotel? That’s outrageous and unfortunate for people that need a decent hotel in Brownsville (because good hotels are hard to come by) Just wish they would be more reasonable in price because this hotel was definitely not worth what we paidI only had one bad interaction with a staff member She was unnecessarily snarky with me and could have provided better customer service Other than that one lady, everyone else was super nice and accommodating I’d recommend this hotel but only if you’re ready to drop WAY too much money

Jonathan Ponce

9/10 Haven’t had any problems with the staff members & the cleaning ladies always listen to me when I need something or have something cleaned Rooms are new and nice I love the gym and pool I can tell they have it clean

One thing that sucks is not being able to stay longer than 2 weeks since someone else has reserved it bc I wanted to keep the room for another 2 weeks, but I was to late so my advice for business people is make sure to put how long your staying for sure! Or book ahead of time bc a lot of people love this hotel Man if only the breakfast was better I’ve noticed not a lot of people go for breakfast, but I hope one day they realize that is something huge for hotels they should do better I believe home2 is the best hotel in Brownsville & hopefully it stays nice , clean & good staff members always

Ralph Place

This was a nice stay Home2 is my go to when traveling Staff were very friendly and helpful and parking was secure

The parking car badge was a new thing for me, not a lot of trouble, but I didnt like that it had a room number on it, potential for security risk therePlenty of new resteraunts, bars and shops close by Was only about 20 min to South Padre Island

WOW! This hotel is awesome The pictures on websites does it no justice The rooms were nice and clean and the hotel was very quiet

The hotel staff here makes this place a friendly stay The breakfast and evening social is above and beyond 5 star The food was highly quality, prepared to perfection, they had beer, wine, juices, snacks, no need to go out when it’s all free Ms Billie Du Luna walks around and makes sure all guests are enjoying themselves and is there stay is awesome You don’t see that at expensive hotels The price was well below hotels in that area that offer less Did I mention the daily Otis Spunkmeyer cookies, fresh cucumber water, and pink lemonade all FREE… This hotel is conveniently located to restaurants less than 05 miles and the Mall is right across the highway The hotel is right off the highway on Exit 4 Brownsville, TX If you don’t stay here you are missing out for sure🔥🔥🔥Thanks to all the staff there I will be back home soon Keep the cookies warm😁❤️

SYNAPSEON

Traveled for business and will stay here again Coming from other hotels that only provide a mini-fridge and microwave, I was very satisfied with the kitchen setup (stove top, silverware, full size fridge) The breakfast and coffee were great and there is also a Starbucks around the corner

The happy hour was awesome after a long day of work

T Brad

Brenda at the front desk is exceptional Her professionalism and politeness made my stay a great one She went above and beyond to make sure I could check in a little early and made sure to always greet me during my stay

All of the staff, the hotel and my stay was outstanding I highly recommend this hotel Not only is it close to great restaurants, the breakfast and weekly Social make it that much better BIG Thank you to the staff

ROACHES EVERYWHERE!!!We chose Country Inn & Suites based on the reviews, but unfortunately, our stay was very unpleasant The rooms, at a glance, seem okay However, shortly after checking in, we saw roaches crawling on the walls and even in the shower

The vents in the bathroom were rusty and nasty looking The blanket was discolored, ripped, and ragged I was scared to sleep on the pillows because of the roaches I felt the need to sanitize the pillows before sleeping on them The dryer cost was $250, and I only had $200 in change I went to the front desk and let the male attendant know there were roaches in my room, and I needed to purchase two bottles of water to get cash back to use the dryer for my pillows He showed no care for my concerns; he did not even apologize Instead, he charged me a $100 cashback fee to get only a $100 cash back ($200 for $100 in change)That was not all; the AC in the room did not work efficiently, would not cool the room, and was deafening compared to any other AC unit In addition, when the occupants upstairs used the bathroom during the night, the sound of the water was bothersome I am lucky that our stay was only two nights I hope management looks into this matter and trains the staff to be more courteous

For being the most expensive hotel in town there is too much to improve The rooms design are poor (There is a wall blocking the tv sight), I would expect restaurant and bar service; just breakfast is served According to a letter left in my room this is due to Covid restrictions, hope this changes in the future and gladly would update my opinion

Employees are nice and location is good

I’m writing this review to warn others This hotel is decent and clean, so it gets 3 stars However, we stayed here 1 night quickly while passing through

We paid with points When you use Marriott points, you do not expect to pay anything upon check out To my surprise, when I got the receipt emailed, there was a $3 charge for our 1 night I’m not phased by $3 But I was expecting $0 So I investigated what the charge was It was showing up as “Parking recapture fee” What the heck? I did park a car, but they never asked if I did or not Additionally we proactively check everywhere we go, on their website to verify parking is freeWhen I went to check out, I inquired about the $3 charge, and the front desk advised, “Oh, we added a parking charge” And I replied, “ok well, your website says parking is complementary so I’d like it removed” After about 1 minute on the computer the lady advised “Ok it’s done have a nice day”Again, $3 isn’t anything… but if they’re adding this to everyone’s bill at the end of the day it’s an unfair practice as it states parking is complementary PLEASE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT UPON CHECK OUT!!!Also, there was no body wash in the bottle in the bathroom, so maybe housekeeping could do a bit better

Great room, nice and clean! The room also has a microwave and an iron perfect if you’re going away for businessKind and helpful staff, it has a little communal fitness areaUnfortunately the wifi did cut out sometimes! Otherwise it would have been 5 stars!

This hotel was not clean, the room smelled like mold On the second night in the room is when the roaches made their appearance The hallway had trash in them when we arrived and was still there in the morning

The property was not clean on the outside, needs some maintenance We also reserved a King room/ two double per the website and email Once we got here we were given a handicap room where it was nearly impossible for us to take a proper shower

Matt Frost

It seems pretty dirty Not sure how thorough the cleaning is I’m sure they’re spraying down everywhere, but the drawer handles and fixtures have rust spots all over them

There’s something nasty on the side of the chair The outlet doesn’t work at the night stand Nasty bath, rust, mold, painted over tub very low water pressure that is very highly chlorinated Bring a candle or air freshener, this room has a nasty musty smell The elevator is sketch, bounces up and down when going to the second and third floor; It smells like it was cleaned with a dirty rag The window treatments are torn When housekeeping took the dirty towels, I got a new towel but no wash cloth The carpets are dirty The bed is uncomfortable There is a lack of parking spaces The TV is the equivalent size of a computer monitor The wifi is unstable, getting kicked off constantly Customer service is good but the facility is ran down I would have expected more from the Holiday Inn brand

See picturesThe air-conditioning unit leaked water causing the carpet to get wet The dresser has soaked up the water causing it to swell and deteriorate

I had my backpack on the floor next to the couch When I realized that the carpet was wet, I picked up my backpack and it had mold on it After further investigation, I noticed the water had gotten into the wall and saw mold I informed the front desk and maintenance came with a sop-vac and got up two containers full of water I took my backpack to the front desk to show that it had mold The person at the front desk didn’t know what to do and said he’d inform the manager and have them call me After a week, I still didn’t hear back from the manager I then went to the front desk and insured about the situation The woman went to the back to speak to the manager and came back to tell me that there’s nothing they can do I asked to speak with the manager That’s when the manager, Roman Portes, came to the front desk I explained the situation to him He said that they would have taken it to have it dry cleaned because that’s what they do with their curtains when they get molded That tells me they have a history of mold problems Anyway I didn’t want to leave a bad review, but they don’t want to help make this right I forgot about the little ants They were annoying I ended up getting my own bug spray

Brandi Boggs

The rooms were very nice and cleanLoved the hot tub and pool areaIt has a bbq area to use

This is all so very important to me being we stay here for periods of time and this acts as our second home at times Thank you Candy and the entire La Quinta staff for making us feel at home everyday God Bless 💜

First of all ima say the rooms are nice lobby is clean breakfast is ok, but the service is not that great I’ve noticed 2 young girls that clean and they are very lazy always together in each rooms & y’all need to watch out a girl name Melissa I overheard her say about my room doesn’t need to be perfect And she had took a water bottle and few candies from my bag

Sheets were very dirty the first day I believe they reuse the same sheets on purpose not caring And the guys working in the rooms are making loud noises everyday for hours leaving the hallways dirty and the elevator By the way I have stayed here before 5 years ago & it was a great experience the pool was clean & the gym now they slacking about it And now they have this nasty moldy smell Y’all need to watch out the old lady supervisor candy/dulce she don’t care about people staying there she’s very unprofessional she’ll act nice in front of your face she had moved me and my girl from our room on purpose to a accessible room which is not okay at all She’ll deactivate our keys on purpose she basically tried to give us a hard time idk if she’s mental or what but she’s not okay in the head I feel sorry for her she don’t deserve a job like that

H M.W

Terrible!!! I never wanna visit this place again because of the evil hotel employees I made a reservation and when I arrived they give me and my friends attitude because we are Asian and treated us as if we have a virus but we were so tired to look for another hotel so then they put us in a nasty room that has a lot of problems, bugs everywhere, plug doesn’t work and Maintainance guy flirted with me and I felt super uncomfortable! I never want to came back After complaining, they ask us to leave after they got our money!!!!!

Not a bad hotel It’s in decent shape and the staff are very friendly The real problem is the location

It sits next to a busy highway but even worse yet if your room faces the safelite repair shop next door you’ll be treated to extremely loud bass music at 8am I left them a nice review for it too Hopefully the two managers can work out an agreement where the hotel guests can enjoy some quiet in the mornings

Chris

At first glance this place looks decent, but upon looking closer you will find maintenance to be the last thing on their mindsMy coworkers room had rust in the tub and water damage on the bathroom walls They had to put a mat down in his shower The maintenance guy told him the management doesn’t want to renovate the bathrooms

My room has a nice big spot of water damage coming from the room above me, when the person above me showered I could hear water dripping and could watch water slowly drip down my bathroom wallThe one front loading washing machine is never cleaned, it has a build up of sludge in the inner lip of the door My coworkers clothes had the sludge all over them after trying to remove the “clean” clothes He had to wash them again in a different machine The maintenance guy who came up couldn’t have cared lessThis is the kind of stuff you expect at a cheap motel But when you’re paying between $150-$200 a night these things shouldn’t be happening It’s pretty embarrassing for a Residence Inn

Aina Togiai

Staff is amazing… breakfast is good 99% of the time Location is great! Housekeeping is very good tooCons:I am currently staying here for 37 nights and might have to extend

I’m staying in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite1 The beds are hard Better than the holiday inn express down the street but still hard fir a Marriott chain2 The parking is horrible On my days off i Don’t leave after dark cause I won’t have a parkingThis business trip I have stayed at 2 other hotels and this will have been the best by far

Great price compared to others in the area We have stayed here at least 4 times now Every time has been great

Clean, well kept, great location Love the King beds in the double rooms Spacious Tile floor, so no weird carpet smells Everything you need at a good price No microwave, coffee maker, or hair dryer, but those are extras we don’t use anyway There is a fridge, which is essential We have not visited the pool yet but hopefully on our next stay We have already recommended it to family

Christine Conde

I don’t ever comment about things like this but, this room was VERY NICE It even smelled nice, not musty or hotel like smell, if that makes sense The bed was comfortable, it was very roomy (we had a room with a king size bed), not claustrophobic

There was a little table for eating, a small sofa with coffee table the bed with an awesome back board It was even nice enough to just sit and relax if you didn’t want to go anywhere The gentleman at the front who checked us in was super nice and friendly The only downsides are (and it’s not really all that major): There isn’t a refrigerator, coffee maker, iron/ironing board or hair dryer (usual things I’ve seen in other hotel rooms And there is no continental breakfast or beverage station in the lobby That’s why I gave it 4 stars But there are convenient stores and restaurants close by and the price was pretty reasonable I would definitely stay here again!

Emily Cartagena

Amazing service!! The room is spotless I seriously couldn’t find any spots It’s super clean throughout!!! The room is so spacious with two king size beds; very comfortable mattresses with clean white sheets! The customer service is among the best we’ve experienced

Highly recommend and will always return to this as it exceeded our expectations

Hotel location was perfect for my needs In general, the hotel is clean, very comfortable beds and pillows for a pleasant sleep The breakfast is included, which may no be the best in town is acceptable… it is included, you cannot ask for more

My evaluation at 4 is for something personal that I do not like in this type of hotel, which are the dark carpets and low lights

Michael Anderson

Our family went to visit a visiting family member who was staying in this hotel, but after walking in the door, we were accosted by a rude front desk clerk He was demanding to know what room we were staying in and upon learning that our family was only visiting, he demanded we leave stating the hotel facilities were “for paying guests only” We were very disappointed with this hotel’s staff and apparent anti-visitors policies

We will not be recommending this hotel to anyone

Room dirty, sliders didn’t open due to old doors being rusted Shower tub filled to top while showering, gross Female staff at desk rude, especially Spanish girl with white eyeliner

She would look at me then look down and never say can I help you, making me wait while she was on her cell She did this several times on her shift I would never stay again because of her rudeness I tried to tell her about my old dinghy room I was paying 169 for a balcony, she replied people who complain just want their money back That’s not true If there were a fire I would not be able to get out when windows are rusted shut

Matthew Smith

Very disappointed in this Marriott property It was not up to Marriott standards The food in the restaurant was reheated in a microwave

The hotel was dirty everywhere I looked The room configuration had the TV at the side of the bed instead of the foot of the bed I got a stiff neck trying to watch it sideways Some of the curtains were detached from the rod The desk had crumbs on it from previous people I’ve stayed in a lot of Marriott properties over the years and this is one of the worse ones ever

Shabaura Perryman

Not happy with this property at all The rooms smelled damp like wet musty clothes The water in the sink smelled Rusty, The queen bed did not have a bed skirt, and theere was two nats in my room

I was initally upgraded to a a King suite, however as single female traveller its not safe to have a room on the first floor, or any floor next door to the exit door The front desk displayed my room number to the man behind me when she handed me the room key

I was a long term guest in this superb hotel The hotel was always maintained to a high standard and the cleaning ladies were excellent The kitchen staff was very friendly and happy to help with anything i requested

The front staff was delightful and always greeted me Wendy was especially kind and went above and beyond helping me with anything from unloading my groceries to making me a new key card when I misplaced mine As a disabled veteran, I truly appreciate the help and graciousness provided from all of the staff members I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family before any other in the area

Stayed here with our family of 6 for a beach vacation We couldn’t find reasonable lodging in south padre, so we decided to stay further inland (50 minute drive) We stayed for two nights and LOVED this hotel

We got a suite- with 2 beds & a couch bed The rooms were so clean The entire hotel was clean And quiet and welcoming The free breakfast was delicious The staff was helpful and kind We will be back! Perfect for families

Rico Burgos

The worst Homeward suites I ever stayed at!!! Costumer service is bad! No towels!! My room never got cleaned after I told them I need my room cleaned! I payed 200 plus a night and had the worst experience here at this location!! I came here for a funeral and had to call front office multiple times to get towels just so me and my family can shower and get dressed!! Smh then I get back to room later that night and room wasn’t cleaned like they promised it was gonna get cleaned! The worst experience ever! I should have just got a $75 room like other family members because they didn’t have one problem!!!!
