I had such an amazing time photographing a wedding at this venue! The staff was so helpful, the grounds are beautiful and the new ceremony landscaping is to die for There are so many sweet nooks for photos here, and you can’t go wrong with the quintessential New England style in the Quiet Corner I can’t wait to be back here in October photographing another wedding!

Shannon Roy

While the venue grounds were beautiful, the event planner wasn’t very friendly, didn’t have any enthusiasm, and wasn’t very helpful which ultimately turned my fiancé and I always from this venue We drove and hour for a tour and were there for only 5 min She went over the brochure that she gave us and then told us to walk around the grounds ourselves, just felt very unprofessional

While we then asked for more information via email when we were back home, she would take days to respond and gave us one word answers She then never even reached out to us once after we said we were considering sending a deposit check, just poor customer service overall

Philomena Marabello

ProsThe Mansion is beautiful as well as grounds The wedding venue was gorgeous and food was amazingConsUnfortunately, I didn’t feel the same about management

My daughter had her wedding there and the attention to her and groom and guests was indeed underrated The AC wasn’t working in the bridal suite There attention to bridde and groom fell short An example during picture taking some attendants were served during picture taking Staff came to us once I asked and was told they weren’t coming back out to us and was told no Therefore not everyone received a drink or horderves When trying to locate anyone it was a ghost town It is not handicap friendly We had to lug everything ourselves up 2 fights of stairs No way to obtain water or ice or even an extra creamer package I was willing to get it myself when a worker there told me she couldn’t do the stairs Hmmm Not all rooms have a mini fridge I could go on I never stayed at a bed and breafast Left me disappointed

We had a wonderful stay at Laurel Ridge Bed & Breakfast! Linda and Eric were amazing hosts! We were lucky enough to stay in the master suite which was spacious and absolutely beautiful Our day started with enjoying a cup of fresh brewed coffee while we watched the many varieties of birds outside of our window The property is very secluded and everything about this home screams “relax!”

We are seasoned “B&B’ers” and I can honestly say the breakfast was the best we’ve ever had It’s obvious that Linda and Eric love what they do and it was a pleasure to stay with them It was the perfect overnight getaway and we look forward visiting again!

Lauren Shidler

We got married at Laurel Ridge last month and it was an absolute dream Linda and Eric are so warm and welcoming, I felt like family was hosting us The breakfasts they made for us were unbelievable

The house and farm was built by them on land they keep looking beautiful We were so impressed that they are totally off grid, grow their own fruits and make their own honey among other things You can tell the goats and chickens are so loved and cared for We are excited to stay next November for our anniversary!

Tom Nolle

This is just a phenomenal place Picture a log house on 60 acres of woodland Picture it totally self-sustaining with wind and solar electricity

A dedicated couple who built and maintains it, who are great conversationalists, wine and cheese on the terrace, an after-dinner drink under a darkening sky, breakfast with eggs from their chickens and homemade honey and jelly, and you’re just scratching the surface This may be the nicest place we’ve stayed If you have a chance it’s worth multiple nights!

Brand new hotel matching 21st century designs New lobby, new rooms, new amenities, and I couldn’t be happier Open lobby when you enter, wood ceilings, new breakfast area, and meeting area

When entering the rooms, you see openness, there’s welcoming feeling while the hotel comfort is still there The sofa, beds, chairs, the built in beds, chargers, bathrooms are all just some of things that are exciting Being a one of the first guests in new rooms, I couldn’t have found a better roomBreakfast was delicious and refreshing Outdoor area was good Pool is closed permanently but fitness area is very good

Andrew Koemeter-Cox

Apparently this location has been closed since 2020, but good luck finding this out from their website or phone number (which rings and rings) If you want actual updates on what’s happening here, you have to call another nearby Marriott location Marriott allowed myself and family members to make a booking here, and then moved some of my family members to another hotel

My booking is in two weeks and Marriott has not notified me of any changes to my reservation I made this booking over a month ago when plenty of other options were available – now it appears there is almost nowhere else to stay

I needed a place to stay for a few months in the off season while I was in town for work It was near impossible to find anything open Doug and his family were great

Beautiful property and a great host I noticed a few bad reviews on Google and I think it’s worth mentioning the current owner hasn’t owned it all that long and has put alot of work into the place

Donna Coko

A GEM! We had the best time

so good I didn’t want to leave! Doug and Hollie (who we now consider friends), their kids and Josh, went above and beyond to make sure we and the other guests were comfortable and had a good time Saturday night’s beach party was a blast and we met so many nice people! We had a perfectly secluded tent site as we requested The beach was beautiful and the entire place very well kept Cannot WAIT! to go back

diane Cataudella

We can’t say enough about the kindness extended to us by the staff at this campground We broke down on I-84 on a Saturday and couldn’t have the truck serviced until the following Monday We called Wilderness Lake and even though they were full for the weekend they quickly agreed to find us a spot somewhere on their grounds for our camper

To say they went above and beyond is an understatement Not only did they provide a space with electricity, the owner actually drove my husband to the Ford dealer 20 minutes away on Monday morning Whatever we needed they went above and beyondThe campground was extremely quiet even though full There are many seasonal campers that seem to have a wonderful camaraderie which also sets the tone at the campground We enjoyed sitting at the lake, reading a book in the quiet, waiting for Monday morningCan’t say enough good things they provided help, kindness and services when we needed it, and did it with a smile Will definitely return

We stayed at the Comfort Inn Auburn Ct for 3 days mid Aug /22 The inside of the hotel is a little worn out but in good shape Outside is quite a nice looking brick building

Staff were friendly, beds comfortable, and room a good size and large TV WIFI worked just find Front desk person also had to manage the breakfast area which led to shortage of different food stuffs Breakfast was quite minimal but with a waffle makerThe big issue was staff and clients smoking right outside the main door There is a sign stating you must be 25 feet away from the entrance but they hung around the door talking to each other and it was impossible to avoid walking through cigarette smoke

Mr. P.

-The windows have great blinds, so no light peeking through-The shower has great pressure and temperature-The floors are clean everywhere

-The breakfast was good-Adequate counter/desk space with nice rolling chair Great for getting work done-Included a two seat couch which was nice-Plenty of outlets-Good lighting in the room-Mirror is huge, i just always love that-Iron worked well-There was no safe in the room, but might have been available upon request-perfect for $100/night

R Brady

Stayed here 4 nights Decent rooms with big TV Very quiet every night we were there even though we were next to the elevator

Excellent breakfast everyday Good location next to main highways and various amenities Only minor issue was a leaky toilet that randomly ran very loudly all day and night Pool was rather small and had rough surface both above and below ground level, to the point where my son sliced open and bloodied his hand just touching the bottom of the pool

Jake Stark

They’re having ongoing room renovations, I had a recently renovated room Still smelled like fresh paint/wallpaper glue!No toilet paper at all, which was interestingly inconvenient but more comical for me than anything as I’m a human who also makes mistakes time from time at work so I understandBreakfast hot items were pretty rough but they have a typical Hilton chains breakfast options

Everyone I came in contact with was friendly Great location easy to access I’d stay again if I was in the area

We stayed here for our wedding and it was perfect! The rooms are very clean and staff is very friendly We also had our guests stay here with us as well and we only heard good things from everyone! Parlin was helpful with setting up the room block ahead of time All front desk staff and bartenders were more than accommodating!! We had the after party at the hotel in the bar as well and it was perfect! Overall, a perfect place to stay, and very affordable

Would absolutely recommend and stay again!

Katie Andersen

Our stay was so pleasant! We were here with a large group of high school choir kids for a competition tour and sometimes there can be difficult issues, but everything at the hotel was so easy and pleasant! (And our kids were Grand Champions!!) Emily at the front desk was familiar with the choir competition and was so helpful and solicitous with some problems we had She was so thoughtful to go out of her way to help! The whole breakfast crew was amazing to tackle such a large group of anxious teens trying to grab a quick healthy breakfast before competition! They were able to keep breakfast stocked so nobody even missed a beat!

Kevin Campbell

Stayed 1 night after a wedding Got an upgrade due to an unavailability of other room types to a suite Room was clean and spacious

Included a ‘fireplace’ heater which was nice Better in winter I suppose, but in summer it was just something to look at The window was looking over the outdoor pool, which meant the shades stayed shut due to the room being on ground levelWater pressure in the shower was dismal We had to set the shower head to its maximum settings to get a meaningful shower out of itAlso the bathroom door did not latch The strike plate didn’t line up at allThere was supposed to be a breakfast of some kind but it wasn’t advertised well I didn’t see any signs mentioning what times it was available Either i missed it or it wasn’t served, hard to tellOtherwise fine Bed was comfortable Can’t ask for much more Good access to local shops

The Inn at Woodstock Hill was a perfect place to stay and venture out for scenic drives to see the fall foliage This was my third time staying at the Inn and we plan to come back every year The Inn has a unique character – it has that old-time charm from the 1800s, but is updated, so you don’t miss out on the modern conveniences

It is quiet and has a relaxed atmosphere from the moment you walk in It is truly a little time-travel get away and we felt like we got a reset and new peace after staying here for a few days The staff was friendly and very accommodating The manager even warmed up a cup of coffee for us when we returned late one night The common rooms were a delight to sit in near the fireplace and just read a book late one night The old grand staircase was so delightful – we did not mind at all having to carry our luggage up The breakfast was great, with fresh fruit and was served on real dishes and real tablecloths, none of that throw away plastic stuff My husband loved their robust coffee and they even offered various hot teas as well The weather cooperated nicely for a walk around the gorgeous grounds and snapping a few pictures for the memory books I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here

Sue Kania-Betts

Our perfect get away Katy welcomed us with a smile, pleasant, professional and efficient Our room was immaculate

We enjoyed our wine and crudite on the patio as we listened to the breeze through the grass and songbirds Breakfast? Eggs, bacon, assorted baked goods, cereals hot/cold, juices, coffee/tea-fare suited to an Inn of gracious hospitality We enjoyed the ambience of an 1800s home joined with the comforts of 2022 Thank you to Doug and his amazing staff

Ray Dugan

We stayed 3 nights and could not have been happier! First Doug was awesome The staff was so great and accommodating Love the colonial look

Grounds are beautiful!! The corned beef hash had chunks of corned beef in it, obviously homemade Drinks?? Yes they have that too!! We loved it so much before we left we booked the whole cottage Could only give 5 stars but would more if possible Going to be a yearly thing

My wait server, Rob was OUTSTANDING! Very friendly, helpful, attentive and personable!!! One can sense when you really enjoy their job, and Rob does Everyone at the Publick House restaurant was very kind and courteous My meal was exceptional and highly recommended by Rob

I had 1/2 roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans The sticky bun served before my dinner was scrumptious I had the bread pudding for dessert It was yummy Worth the extra calories!

Lizette Castaneda

The rooms were not clean and are quite old They need to remodel the rooms Our room had two beds and one of those beds was completely broken

The frame was off and the bed would tilt to the side The broken bed also had stains on it There were crumbs on the floor when we first enteredNo fridge, no microwave Not somewhere I would stay again

Nicole Owen

We just had our wedding here and it was perfect, the staff from my sales coordinator (Diana) absolutely a pleasure to work with, to the banquet team (Jon and Paige) the day of Everyone went above a beyond for us, the food was good, and they absolutely maintain the ground so beautifully They are affordable and work with you to cut down costs

I had a post breakfast the next day and my family loved getting together one last time before saying goodbye! They made sure I had drinks on deck and gluten free options for me and addresses all dietary concerns for my guests! My only critique was the motor lodge rooms were pretty dated, and our bridal suite had some issues with the fridge being cold and the water going on and off randomly in the shower The staff quickly addressed this for us and sent someone right away! It was so beautiful thank you Publick House!

We enjoyed our stay It was close to Worcester where we were visiting and the room was nice and one of the cheapest ones that was still quite nice for only two days notice It was a bit inconvenient at night when we wanted snacks that there was no vending machines on any floor, only ice, so you had to go to the front desk for them

But the man at the front desk was very nice and easygoing Overall it was a good stay

Heather Myers

Hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly My room was nice, but I found the mattress to be too firm and the pillows to be not firm enough (they basically went flat when I put my head on them) The shower had great water pressure

Breaks was fine, who doesn’t love a waffle maker The hotel was also very convenient for what I needed to do in the area

Valaine Perez

had a credit card confirmed reservation for myself, husband and three young grand kids Upon arrival, I was told my room was given away because there was a problem with my credit card and they didn’t have a number to contact meMy American Express confirmed my reservation and my phone number was listed right under that

The guy said I was one of many they sent away Friday night… my grand kids were so sad and disappointed as they were excited to go for a swimWhen I expressed that, the guy said, our pool is being remodeled right now I asked why that wasn’t on the description Note; my reservation was for $619 For two nights On line looks cheaper Not only did they completely disappoint three little girls but they made a big mistake!!I did have a copy of my confirmed reservation, including my phone number in my emailThe guy tried to make me feel better by saying they were so busy, they had to send several people away

Excellent hotel, friendly and helpful staff! Clean and convenient Checked in quickly but when we got to the room there was no refrigerator We called the desk and immediately got another room, no problem at all

Breakfast had good variety of choices, including hot food, all fresh Dove products (soap, body wash, etc) a plus! If you forget any basics they’ll provide for free (razor, toothpaste) All in all I highly recommend this hotel

Rich Breimann

My stay at the Holiday Inn Express was made very enjoyable by the warm and friendly interactions with the front desk All the staff members were very accommodating and met and/or exceeded my expectations Both Alli and Carmen were super friendly and very patient with all the Amazon packages I piled up behind their desk

They Always met any special requests with a smile on their face! The woman who prepares the breakfast buffet always was diligently working hard to make sure breakfast was served to all the hungry hotel guests I didn’t catch her name

Sue H

I had a great stay Everyone was very nice to me Room was quiet and clean! I wanted to go five stars but I only went four because of breakfast

The one morning I had to actually get a breakfast rather than eat and run, they were pretty much out of food Part of it is I think they had a lot of teenage boys who as we all know can eat a lot! By the time I got at 9:30 there was not much left My suggestion would be that they start breakfast at 6:30 and have a little more food I would definitely stay there again! And thanks to the staff! Definitely recommend this place!

Coover’s Lawn Care

We reserved a two double bed room but when we arrived to check in they told us the two double bed room was dirty so they couldn’t rent it to us and all they had available was a two double bed Suite for more money When we walked into the room the bathroom door was torn off the bathroom was ripped apart and the toilet was laying on its back on a blanket in the bathtub When we pulled back the blankets there was hair on the sheets and little black fuzzy things so we told the office we couldn’t accept the room naturally

They sent us from that one to a king-size suite where when we pulled back the blankets on that bed there was long black hairs all over the place and when we opened up the sleep sofa there was silver hairs all over it in the sheets and on the cushions so we told them we couldn’t accept that room either They sent us to another king-size Suite and the beds and that one were clean but the door had a big crack you could see light around it and hear everyone who walked by the room The exterior of the motel is in very poor condition as well with some boarded-up windows and some glass missing window panes and drywalled shut from the inside and the second floor decking where you access your second-floor rooms was delaminating plywood and felt like you might go through it if you jumped We arrived downstairs for their advertised continental breakfast and all there was at 8:30 was juice + 5 sticky buns that tasted old The pool was drained and even though it was out of season didn’t look like it had been used for years and the whole exterior of the motel smelled strongly of cigarette smoke although the inside of the rooms we were in did not Definitely not worth $118 plus taxes and fees totaling over $130 a night We picked a Super 8 because we’d heard of the national chains they are one of the cleanest but this one definitely is not The only positives are that the mattresses were comfortable and the lady behind the desk was very apologetic and tried to get us a good room so I can’t blame the lack of maintenance and lack of cleaning on her She told us we were the second people that night she had put into a room only to find the toilet was in the bathtub

danielle elliott

The room was filthy, bed unmade, dirty food containers everywhere, and bugs in the roomWe arrive at 3:30pm and when we mentioned the room not being tended to were told to come back “in a few hours” We were unable to access our room until 6:30pm

Exhausted and set to attend a convention, we went to the room and slept The next day, I went to talk to the manager and was told to “leave a message” I did and he never called backThe entire weekend the front desk was run by a well meaning, but overall unhelpful and generally unqualified young ladyShe repeatedly stated there was no way to get ahold of the manager or owner We received no clean towels, or bedding during our 5 day stay, even though we asked multiple times they be left outside our doorFinally Monday, the manager came in and I was sure we would be able to discuss the situation like reasonable adultsI mentioned the filthy room, the fact that we had to “find something to do” for nearly 4 hours, while they cleaned the room, and the other issues I was told “check in time starts at 3pm, we can actually check you in at any time after that when the room is ready, so we do not owe you anything”The room smelled musty, like old cigarettes and the bathroom smelled like vomit and urineThe bed was not too bad, i must say However the ac unit would randomly shut off during the night causing us to wake up covered in sweat For reference, it has been 80-87°, during our stay We will NEVER BE BACKOn top of the horrid check in, during our last morning there, I slipped and hit my head in the bathroom and asked for any sort of consideration, for a late check out so we could head straight to Emergency, as we were not packed, I was told we need to be out at 11 sharp So my husband packed while i sat there bleeding with my head throbbing I am baffled by both the lack of professionalism and consideration

Amanda Schiripo

Our room was nice and well set up We had a nice deck over looking the river and pool which was drained Our phone did not work and one book light did not work

Other then those issues the room itself was very nice staff was nice and helpful also even when I called around 4am to ask about check outI would not recommend coming here if you have an early day or young kids that have a bedtime We layed our kids down at 8pm and you could hear everything outside and everything in rooms nearby The noise (party type noises complete with music and yelling) continued until well after midnight!

Room was nice and clean! Only disappointment was the website showed the pool as an amenity and when we arrived staff said it’s been out of order for sometime Kids were looking forward to that Also, you can’t serve yourself breakfast

They still have everything blocked off and you get served by the hotel staff 2 small pieces of bacon and a little scoop of eggs That was also disappointing Ended up going to Dunkin for breakfast Corporate should lift the Covid restrictions Your competitors across the street has it together…no restrictions and open pool!
