Although the hotel was recently remodeled and looked nice there seemed to be some deeper issues The elevators were slow and noisy and didn’t seem to run wellWe had dozens of ants in our room

The ants were in our bathroom as well as on the dresser in the main room The room also did not include a hair dry and a burnt out light bulb in the the bed side table (We did not complain until checkout as we arrived late and were gone all day We noticed the ants when we got back but we leaving early the next morning)When we mentioned the ants and light bulb to the front desk staff at check out they didn’t take note of our room number It was clear they either knew about the ant problem in the hotel or didn’t care they have an ant problem We did not ask for or expect any compensation and were only interested in seeing they cared about the issues This is not a cheap hotel and I expected much better at this price point

I am a Hilton Honors member and made a reservation at this location for one night being in town for work I had stayed here multiple times before because of its location and I liked the rooms I was asked to show the card I planned on using to pay for the room(the same card I used to make the reservation) and was told that they could not accept it

I explained to the gentleman at the front counter that it was a business card that I use while traveling and have used it at this location before as recently as the week before He said that was irrelevant and he couldn’t do anything to help I was quite furious when I left Especially because it was 1030 at night and I was exhausted I got to my vehicle, cancelled my reservation and made another one at the Hampton Inn 5 minutes down the road and didn’t have any issues paying with the same card that was turned down earlierI don’t ever plan on recommending this location to anyone nor do I plan on staying here againThank you

Rooms and public spaces were clean, which is rare these days Housekeepers said hi when they saw us in the hallways, which is niceFront desk staff wasn’t very friendly and they forgot to fulfill our request a few times

Elevator was very slow the last day When we asked about it, the front desk was obviously irritated that they had to answer about the slow elevatorPool is indoors but well maintained and clean with towels at the ready

So relaxing…we celebrated our 13th anniversary and stayed in the Pilots suite, complete with a separate living room and private deck This was a welcome respite from the business of everyday life The decor is homey and comfortable

Liz the owner is attentive and engaging when you want the company We brought wine and our own cribbage board but you can buy a bottle I understand and there’s lots of games and books for your enjoyment The views are stunning and the breakfast delish! We’ll be back again and stay longer!

Awesome hotel! They have great security You cannot access the use of the elevator or secure parking garage without a key, nor the building itself They do charge you under $20 for parking but it’s worth it

They have breakfast and a decent selection of items The hotel is well kept and the rooms were very clean and nice Was disappointed in the size of the pool They do have a little kids area w/ pool that’s not at all deep with a slide and water spout type contraption The staff were all friendly and helpful Location was okay but I never had a reason to go out and about in the city We were in town visiting family Double check your charges after you check out It might have been a fluke but I had mysterious charge that they did end up refunding me for Jim is one of the managers at this hotel and he was very professional, patient and helpful when resolving this issue I definitely would stay again

After having a horrible experience at Best Western Como park, we cancelled our reservations and went here Feeling so let down by our first encounter with such unprofessional staff, this place was a breath of fresh air!! The check in process was perfect The receptionist, Jacky, was so friendly and helpful!! It was beautiful, bright and clean! Location was perfect! They even have a beautiful, little attached patio to enjoy outside

I highly recommend this hotel and our family looks forward to visiting again as this is where we will always stay in the future:)

Ashley Munk

Breakfast was good Fresh and many options Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable

A little disappointed with the pool and jacuzzi listing as the jacuzzi was the entirety of the whole pool We were expecting more of a hot tub or separate area for jacuzzi Otherwise, it was fine Staff were very friendly and the building was very secure

We decided to spend our anniversary here as this is where we spent our honeymoon 5 years ago and still love it! The staff are very nice, it’s always clean, pool is nice and is 3-5 feet so not very deep but enough to swim laps or just lounge in The price seems reasonable to us, as we paid $163 for our suite for the night It’s nice to have the roof top restaurant attached! We always get the suites with the hot tub that has a fire place, king bed, stand up shower, and lots of towels

We would highly recommend them and will be going back again

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions The times before were good This time the hotel was wild and quite the party atmosphere

It was so loud outside our rooms until after midnight Definitely do not stay on the ground floor if you are wanting to sleep at any point The other room we had on the second floor wasn’t much better We understand people having a good time but this was outrageous When management was asked about it, he politely replied there wasn’t anything that could be done and the bar stayed open until 2AM This will be our last stay at this facility

Shayne E

We were in town for some concrete pump training and stayed at this facility Nicest Best Western I have ever stayed The owner would personally greet us at dinner to make sure we were enjoying our stay

The restaurant bar inside the hotel was lively and had incredible food Try the prime rib it was delicious! We had a large group and our server, who I believe was Eddie, was very attentive and kept the drinks flowing This is why I can’t remember his name for sure! Great stay

From the moment we arrived, the staff was amazing The front desk was manned by true professionals that cared about their clients 100%They were so helpful, friendly and accommodating

The 4 us girls traveled up from Nebraska for 5 days to attend a concert in St Paul for my niece’s birthday and even though we only ended up staying 3 days (the concert got cancelled at the last minute so we came home a couple days early) it was worth every penny and then some The parking at the hotel was a breeze in a very busy, quaint, beautiful town The location cannot be beat as can walk to everything easily Our room (308) was absolutely gorgeous with a balcony overlooking Main St With a river view It was beautifully appointed as a 1 bedroom suite They brought us a mini fridge and a rollaway bed and the couch was also very comfortable Plenty of room for the 4 of us They had numerous outside sitting areas, a fire pit courtyard as well as a rooftop deck with a fire pit and large hot tub as well We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone

Alyssa Goldschmidt

Pros: Rooftop hot tub was amazing The hotel Is located In a perfect place Everything Is walking distance

Staff/customer service was friendly & easy to call when we needed somethingCons: No fridge or Microwave(which we thought was odd), but just giving a heads up for future visitors, because we brought cold food & ended up having to toss It Lastly, the bed & pillows were terrible Other then that, great stay Fire pits & hot tub were awesome on these last couple cold nights!

Leslie Hollerud

I stayed here for one night with a friend on a free night because she previously had a problem In the dead of winter there was no hot water The hotel was attractive in the public spaces

The rooms had no closet, no fridge, no microwave and no iron We tried to eat there My water arrived warm on a really hot and humid day and the glass had a big smear of lipstick and a red dot that I was hoping wasn’t blood The server didn’t even apologize He just said I will get you another We ordered Red Snapper and when it came I tried to cut it in half to share and my knife wouldn’t even cut through it I’ve never seen a piece of fish that was that rubbery I don’t even know if it was fish The Manager came over and I told her what happened and she laughed and said “I don’t think anyone in the back is bleeding “ referring to the dirty glass With a huge bar and about 1000 bottles of liquor they couldn’t even make blended drinks If we would have paid for the room it would have been $389 a night If they want to charge those prices they really need to step up their customer service skills With all the competition in the area I would think they would be a little more concerned with their reputation Would not stay there again

An absolute dumpThis review is for the hotel portion onlyElevators don’t work

We have to go up and down 12 flights of stairs (twice) Stairways not marked, not lit and several floors were blocked by power tools, cords etc…The rooms are very musty and dirty Tiny sinks and toilets and rooms not stockedNobody who works for the hotel is there They have a person that sits at the front desk, but they are very quick to tell you that they don’t work there Beautiful venue, but don’t ever stay here

Stayed here for a wedding Currently no staff on premises and you get your code to get in and out of the building and roomLocation is convenient to be in downtown St

Paul Did not park a vehicle for my stayElevator was having major issues during stay Was trapped on the 12th floor in the morningNo a/c on in the main parts so the hallways/elevators were hot Room a/c worked thankfullyBathrooms had step up to enter if you have mobility issues Bed was on the firmer side Room had fridge, microwave and kureg machine

The guy was grumpy that checked us in but another front desk person we met was nice We couldn’t use a gift card to pay for our room I booked the king room on booking

com because it was cheaper than booking with the hotel I liked the standard room better that we got the last time we stayed Our room had a kitchen, dishes, wine glasses and mini fridge with freezer We stayed for winter carnival and it was a perfect location The hotel has the top floors of the building St Paul athletic club has an awesome dry and wet sauna and really nice facilities Nice free breakfast but bring your own cup/mug since they only have disposable options They had recycling bin in the room which was a nice touch The housekeeping staff were very nice We love this hotel

Wonderful staff; amazing food; beautiful venue! The Outing Lodge hosted our engagement photo session and, more importantly, our October 2021 wedding The venue was everything we wanted for a rustic, fall wedding The guests adored the staff

The food was delicious! Sofia worked with us for over 11 months to plan the day The unique things about this venue are the charm of the lodge, the proximity to hiking and biking trails, and the package deal with ceremony, reception, 7 rooms for guests overnight, food and dessert all taken care of by the lodge Thank you to the Outing Lodge staff for the best day!

C W

Very pleasant owners Location wonderful Lodge is old, certainly historical and has it’s charm

It needs serious repair, restoration, including furniture, bathrooms, lighting windows, a/c, beds, fans need rebalance, sunroom door in rm 3 needs to have a whole new door system to close properly etc Give this lodge the TLC it deserves for all the years it served many who lived there

Kristy Deeds

The photos on social media really don’t do justice to how cozy and beautiful this property is Our room was so comfortable and had plenty of amenities We loved the amount of wildlife in the area, the lake and the gardens were gorgeous

Breakfast was wonderful and the laid back atmosphere was perfect We would absolutely stay here again!

Great rooms, comfortable and well appointed We upgraded and had a beautiful view of the Mississippi Daily breakfast was worth it

They have a nice lobby, hallways and parking are very industrial Service was excellent during the day One night I was treated rudely when asking for a corkscrew? Could’ve been 5 stars but the poor night service bothered me I will still go back, well worth another try

Rebecca Helfritz167

I had a wonderful stay I got into the city very early but I had breakfast which was delicious and the staff got me checked when they could I was in town for a friend’s birthday party and everyone was very accommodating

The only downside was that I attempted to print of my boarding pass for the bus and the printer would not work yet I was still charged for the internet use and copies I never actually received

Joe R

Great location on the river with exceptionally friendly staff The river views were very nice but the hotel interior was dark, very tired and in need of updating Other than the desk chair there was no other seating in the room

When I informed the staff that our room had no chair they though it was odd that there was none and told us that they would look into it We never got the chair The hotel parking garage was an adventure The ceilings in the garage were so low that they did not allow vehicles over 5’9″ to enter The lighting in the garage was terrible I felt like we were parking in a cave Next time in the area I think we will try another hotel

Pros: Beautiful buildings Both the main house and carriage house Welcoming greeting from a hostess, delicious breakfasts and kind woman who cooked and served for us

Beautiful roomCons: we weren’t allowed to lock the door to the carriage house where we were staying, owners of establishment are not on site, unimpressed with polyester bedding given the price of the room,

We didn’t stay in this place but we had really bad experience with the person who was taking the reservations I called them and asked for 2 night stay with my two adult kids and we were planning to book 2 separate rooms As soon as the guy picked up the phone and I asked him if we can book 2 rooms, he immediately denied and said as they don’t allow kids to stay in the room

Then I told him that your website says like 2 adult and kid up to 17 years of age can stay in 1 room then he says no we will not allow he was very arrogant and said he will not give us rooms I got little upset and asked Why can’t we stay there, then he said yeah you can stay here if you book 4 rooms for your family, one for me, my husband, my daughter and my son He was so rude because my accent wasn’t American He sensed it with my accent that I am not white American so I can’t stay in that lodge Such a pathetic person to talk This is my first ever experience in America where I was rejected based on my accent I will never recommend this place to any of my friends or Family May be if you are white you gonna definitely enjoy your stayIn Addition to your response I never asked for one room for my family I asked I wanted to book for 2 night from 26, 27 feb for my family The person immediately said we don’t give it to family or with kids I mentioned about the website where they allow one kids up 17 years Then He asked me about my kids age I told him that “you are hesitant to give us room and then I have nothing to say and thats all right” then he said if you want to book 4 rooms then I am ready to give you My Husband and my kids were listening and we all were shocked as I was on speaker My husband also said ” Why should I book 4 rooms for each of us??” If that call is recorded then please listen the conversation I have no reason to lie about it I know my kids are grown up and we always book 2 rooms where ever we go So I know the city code with Air BNB I also felt insulted when I was denied for stay in your property My daughter only found this place and she wanted to stay in Agatha Cristy room, she was very sad the way the person was talking to me

I was really pleasantly surprised at how fantastic our stay was given the price was cheaper than the competition I expected, given reviews, that it would be good, but it was great! Excellent staff at the desk, who even offered to help find a discount given why we were in townThe food staff, who were kind and helpful, and created quality way above hotel normal food

Really, way better than your average hotel food–and free! Lobby and rooms were clean, well appointed, and comfortable I watched multiple times how staff took pride in their work; I watched a staff member pass just a tiny paper on the floor He stopped and picked it up They all appeared happy, too I highly recommend!

My family and I stayed two nights last week (Thurs/Fri) and could not be more pleased with this Hotel Property was well kept, rooms were clean and spacious, pool was small but nice for the kids FREE Breakfast was excellent with lots of offerings hot and cold

Nightly reception with hot buffet and drinks for FREE was amazing! Staff were very friendly and helpful as was the bar and grill staff located inside the hotel At the price per night it was an awesome deal considering all the freebies they provide We originally were going to stay just one night for a concert in town but loved it so much we opted for a second Would highly recommend this property if staying in the downtown area, we will be returning again soon just for fun

Amanda Heyda

Stayed for almost 3 weeks while my loved one was in Regions Hospital The staff were amazing They were so friendly, helpful, and understanding with all the stress I was under

The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, hot breakfast and supper daily and free adult drinks at supper Which really took alot of stress off me Plus they have guest laundry room so I could wash clothes! Wish I would have made it too the pool They also have 4 elevators centrally located so there was little wait

We were staying for just one night but it was so great that I will definitely be booking here if I ever returnThe rooms have a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and tons of storage options We’ll lit and good temperature controlsThe bed was very comfortable and the room was so clean It was such a wonderful change of pace compared to the hotels I have stayed in recently My only complaint would be the pillows were too soft All the stuffing moved to the other side of the pillow and I woke up with a sore neck – not the end of the worldMost impressive was the breakfast With the generous hours running from 5am to 9am, and equally as generous options, you will not be disappointedThis is definitely not your typical covid time breakfast Waffles, coffee, juice, Greek yogurt, fluffy scrambled eggs, sausages and sausage gravy, biscuits, cereal and fruit, danishes, toast, bagels The staff were bringing out food even at 8:30Check in and check out were a breeze and the staff were friendly and helpfulIf you’re in the area, check out this gem

Great place to stay at a reasonable price Helpful, smiling and just the right amount of friendly, staff The suite was large with two features I have never seen before in a hotel room

A window bench which my wife just loved and a center island with a sink Very handy! Breakfast was pretty typical for this type of hotel The only drawback was the walls are fairly thin It was not a problem as everyone quieted down at night

John Schafer

Spent a night here, and it was a clean, comfortable room Room size is small, but since we were just using it for a single night, that was not a concern for us They had a basic breakfast buffet in the morning (cereal, eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, yogurt, toast, etc

), and they had access to a computer/printer to be able to print out boarding passes for our flight in the morning Very helpful young man at the front desk when we checked in, as well as when we checked out in the morning Will definitely return

Nice, but lacked the details that make a place special We stayed in a street view room during the week, so the price was reasonable Hotel staff were friendly

No lamps next to the bed, so you have to climb out of bed to flip a wall switch Bathroom had a pedestal sink that was pretty and went along with the theme of the room, but there was no space for toiletries when getting ready on the morning Furniture was ornate with lots of grooves that needed dusting, though the room seemed overall clean The location is convenient if you want to be downtown Stillwater, but we would not likely stay here again

Location and rooftop bar were great, staff were friendly, and the new portion was clean Lots of character in the historic side which was cool Room was large, but needed some work (peeling wallpaper, ect

) and the TV was super tiny I would not stay again for the price charged I would also suggest offering a government and AAA discount

Katie McGuire

The room was nice, very historic with a fire place and bathtub Temperature was hard to cool down but otherwise good Location was great, right on the river and lots of stuff near by

Wasn’t thrilled with Charlie’s restaurant, didn’t have the greatest service and it was very over priced for what it was If we go back we will find another restaurant near by, many places to choose from

My wife and I stayed here and had the king suite in room 228 on 8/12/22-8/14/22 We checked on that Friday 8/12 and went out on the town Upon our return, we got ready for bed, only to notice crunched up chips all over our sheets in our bed

I went down to the front desk and was given a whole set of new sheets my wife and I put on ourselves Omar, the gentleman working took note of our issue and stated we had to call back on Monday and speak with the managerI called back and spoke with Rose, the manager, and she said all she could offer was a $30 discount I explained I did not think that was reasonable that I paid $500 for a 2 night stay in which I had to change my own sheets, on top of having the icky feeling our room wasn’t even cleaned She was very rude, after asking who else I could speak with She said it was just her and hung up the phone DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The king jacuzzi suit exceeded my expectations My only complaint was that the room was about 58° when we got there Good thing there was a fireplace! And the direct TV was somehow not connected

We had to jiggle and fiddle with everything, but got it workingHighly recommend staying here for a quick getaway

George

Specifically, wanted to use thehot tub** asked them prior to, and during

that it was in”Proper working order”I went down the first time and I told her it was “cold” and she checked ,and she said it was 93° and by the time I left it was up to 96°degrees”Not acceptable”The room was okay, but the shower/tub drain didn’t work

I had a family dinner in the Garden Room The decor was beautiful and food was amazing! Amy helped me throughout the process and she was so helpful, friendly, and quick to respond! She worked the night of the event and I was glad we knew a member and felt comfortable asking her for anything! We also stayed in room 228 and the room was clean, and quiet! We didn’t here people walking the halls or doors shutting We had breakfast and it was phenomenal! The host was so kind and our server was awesome and attentive! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We were there for a wedding Everyone was very happy with the venue for the wedding The staff was awesome

They all knew there roles and they executed them very well They have a great outside area for a wedding 💑 The Buffet line for the food went quickly the food was delicious And then there was CAKE, AND CHEESECAKE Yum Yum 😋 All in all it was a wonderful experience Thank You

Stayed in one of the newer rooms, but the room was musty smelling The room didn’t have a coffee machine, microwave or refrigerator For one night, it came out to $300, so i would’ve expected the room to have at least those things

The front desk actually stored some of our food in their fridge, which was nice! We liked our balcony and loved the location of the place! Close to all the action They had pull down shades, but it didn’t really block the light at all, so it was very bright when that morning sun hit our window I was up at 7 because the sun was so bright in our room

We had a large group stay at Celeste over the weekend The Celeste staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful! The bar staff were very accommodating, the included breakfast in the Chapel Room was perfectly delicious with plenty of choices to meet all dietary needs The rooms were amazing! Our view of the state capital out one window and the old church out the other was second to none

We will definitely stay at this beautiful hotel again! Thank you!

Pros – The rooms were clean and cozy Loved the historical character that has come from the redevelopment to a hotel It is in a great location – many restaurants within a 10 minute walk, the train is right next to it, and close to the river

Booked my room online and reception was a breeze Super friendly staff as wellCons – You must climb a flight of stairs to enter through the front entrance to get to reception There is a side entrance that is a bit more accessible – just further from reception There is minimal parking in the front of the hotel for checking in Paid parking is offered down the street

Dany Stoufer

My wife and I stayed in the Celeste Suite for our anniversary and were very pleased with our stay This room had tall ceilings and windows with black out shades I loved the blue color and the architecture

Breakfast was really good as well! The building is right next to the metro train and I could hear it late at night and early in the morning; however we did have a great stay and we will stay again if we’re in the area I also did not feel like you need to religious to stay here just because it was a convent before
