Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking a place This website will compare countless hotel sites and usually will have prices much cheaper than others! You’re welcome :)! This hotel is one of the highest rated in the area

I’ve been coming here for a very long time If you choose this place you won’t be let downThe staff here is fantastic! Everyone is very nice and welcoming The rooms are also very clean and comfortable Bathrooms are on the older side but very clean and very well maintained! We will be back!We would’ve given it 4 stars because we paid extra for a specific room and it wasn’t exactly as described We will sort this out at a later time but a place where we’d definitely stay again 5 stars as Lenny (doorman) is always smiling and welcoming folks!

Spent the Valentine weekend here and found the staff to be friendly and accommodating I cannot say enough about Lenny the doorman He was amazing and gets 5 stars!! Mary the concierge also stood out as a rock star

Friendly and sweetMy only constructive comment is the toilet water pressure isn’t great but typical of stately old NYC hotels Bravo Berkshire!!

We’ve stayed here quite a few times, the last time before our recent stay being pre-pandemic The location is convenient to the city, the beds are comfortable, breakfast is decent enough, parking is free My daughter and I stayed in room 804 and our experience was the room is really in need of some TLC

1 Temp control was hit-or-miss, the thermostat being well-handled and old2 Furniture in the living room is Salvation Army-grade and there’s way too much of it for the small space3 Remote control did not work4 Kitchen faucet leaked5 The toilet seat was loose and moved side-to-side and I was not about to reach under there to tighten it6 The coffee maker was fun; the little spring-loaded button in the bottom of the filter basket did not hit the carafe lid, so the coffee stayed in the basket rather than draining into the potThis used to be a nice hotel but it’s becoming run-down It’s clean for the most part and convenient to the ferry terminal, the parking is free, the access to the promenade restaurants and to Pier 115 is a plus, but it’s just starting to feel old and neglected We’ll probably stay here again but we might just try somewhere else

Aiden R

I stayed here for two nights and three days I felt good when I checked in The lady at the counter was very kind

I liked the room, too A room with two queen beds and a living room with a sofa were separated It is free breakfast time from 6 AM to 10 AM I was also satisfied with the quality of their food I will stay at here again when I come back to NYC next time

ortalama vatandas

Great location, great size of the room, very decent food for breakfast, free parking Only thing to improve would have been the furniture in the room was very dirty and old I used cleaning wipes for the chairs and I covered the sofa with my blanket that I carry in the car to make sure my clothing does not get any stains from the furniture

One of the chairs had literally some black stuff like machine oil or something Since the linens, tile surfaces and bedding were clean I did not complain Room had water front view so overall great value for the price I wish they had let us do late check out and did not barge in the room before we were even dressed yet to rush us out before the check out time The asian lady at the front desk was rather mean towards us but rest of the staff was very cordial

Kathleen McFarland

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights recently on a trip to see a couple Broadway shows, and it was perfect! The building is beautiful and well-maintained with a unique, vintage feel, which is exactly what I was wanting as opposed to a huge chain hotel We were upgraded to a superior king room with a small balcony facing the street, which was great! The staff were very polite and helpful, and the free breakfast was really good They can store your bags before check-in and after check-out, which was really nice

The location is great, just close enough to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, etc but far enough away to feel like you’re in an actual neighborhood And of course tons of great restaurants nearby! There aren’t a ton of amenities if that’s important to you, but the rooftop lounge is a nice plus, we’d love to come back when it’s warmer to be able to enjoy it more! There is a piano bar right across the street that was rather noisy at night, but it didn’t bother us too much Overall highly recommend Hotel Scherman!

Kristine Neyra

I had a wonderful stay They let me check in early and the room was spacious with a small terrace to look at restaurants below There was live music nightly from the restaurant below but that didn’t bother me

Location is great, I even walked from Penn station to this hotel with my bags So many great restaurants in the area as well Room has a fridge and microwave And water pressure in the shower was great! I didn’t try the breakfast that was provided I did check out the rooftop terrace which was only for guests which had a decent view

Alex A

I booked after reading some great reviews and wow were they accurate We were looking for a convenient hotel, good service, and bigger room (2 beds, 2 baths, etc)

This was the perfect spot! And one we definitely plan to come back to Location is great – so many food options, transport, etc next door Room was really great – comfortable, clean, and amazing balcony! Finally, literally every staff member was genuine, helpful, and kind It was arguably better/more genuine service than what you get in a lot of 5 star spots Thank You!!

We just finished our stay here and it was awesome The rooms are charming and decorated in an old school European style The staff was pleasant and helpful

The snack room was a great amenity and we used it more than I thought we wouldWe were within a 10 minute walk of a lot of sites, which turned out to be great if we needed to come back and rest our feet for a minute The bar attached to the hotel is under construction but I can only imagine that once it’s done it will be another additional great feature of the hotel I would highly recommend staying here It is in the middle of everything but tucked away so you don’t actually feel like you are in the middle of everythingThe Italian restaurant across the street was good for an easy first night dinner as well

Robin J

What a great stay The staff are all so wonderful! Only tiny misstep is the long line for breakfast (which is a bakery in the lobby) but we worked out quickly that you could use the coupons anytime until 430 so instead of breakfast we opted for snacks in the afternoon Our first room was incredibly small and not very well situated but the staff were very sweet and moved us to a high floor with a very big room! The location is wonderful

Sam Jones

Exceeds expectations for the price point with a phenomenal French bakery downstairs We were pleased with the room (two queens) and received great service from everyone we interacted with We had a member of the group in a wheelchair and the elevator was a rather tight squeeze but if it had been any bigger, they offered the service elevator

Great part of town – right on the 1 line and in close proximity to some solid restaurants Would stay here again!

Katie Mullen Plumb

Our room was clean and a decent size The bed was comfortable The bakery attached is delicious! I wasn’t amazed by the staff checking us in, but a huge reason for my five stars were the people behind the scenes

We had an engineer come fix our door, it wasn’t locking, he was wonderful The housekeeping staff was amazing and in my opinion went above and beyond They folded our pajamas and even moved around a little stuffed animal one of our children packed for us to have on our weekend away Location is great We would stay here again

John Allen

We’ve stayed at the beacon several times It’s a nice property and very convenient to the subway station at 72 Great restaurants nearby Fairways grocery across the street

The corner cafe Viand is jewel and a great choice for breakfast While the hotel isn’t as fresh as it could be, it is clean, comfortable and has a great bed Staff was very accommodating Highly recommended!

Katie

If you’re seeing a show at the Beacon Theater this hotel is extremely convenient The hotel was nice Easy location on Broadway

Nice area The kitchen area was convenient The issues we had that brought my rating down were we did see a few small Roaches (which I am not entirely freaked out by given its the city) and secondly the bath and sinks drained extremely slowly The shower drain was quite frustrating since we had to stand in the water while showering Otherwise the room itself was clean and comfortable

Liz Mahoney

Everything was perfect, the concierge Micheal is a credit to your hotel – he was outstanding and went above and beyond for us especially on the day we got married Jennifer and Catherine are absolute angels, always pleasant and thoughtful asking if anything else was neededAll the staff were amazing including Housekeeping who did an exceptional daily service

Highly recommend this hotel to all – looking forward to visiting again xx ❤️

Kamilla Chanysheva

That was my first trip to NY and my first stay at this hotel What can I say – I’m in love with NY and I think mostly because of the hotel staff and the service Each and everyone who works there is incredibly amazing

It was such a pleasure to stay there The hospitality of the personnel is outstanding From the managers and chefs to servers and housekeeping staff I felt like I was back to Europe again but so much better (west coast is sooo different ☹️) The hotel building is beautiful, the food is delicious, the rooms are clean and the service is just perfect I could’ve literally spend the whole day describing every minute of my amazing experience at Pierre hotel I definitely would love to comeback soon Thank you guys!

Arianna Martignetti

Please note that I am writing this review solely in reference to the restaurant/bar – my friends had never been to NY before (they are from the west coast) and prior to walking around Central Park, we decided to grab a drink nearby We walked into The Pierre and immediately realized that we were out of place, definitely not dressed for the occasion, but the restaurant staff welcomed us with open arms as we asked to grab a drink at the bar We ended up staying for a few drinks because the bartender, Sergio, was so unbelievably pleasant

He was personable and humorous, and respectful of our space yet willing to engage in conversation whenever we wanted to chat with him Sergio and his drinks were a highlight of their trip! My partner and I live in Westchester and cannot wait to go visit with him again

Antonio Lopez

I want to say thank you to all of you at the restaurantMatthew, Sergio, Kenny and everyone on the team, excelent cousin and perfect care of the costumer’sI will be back for sure

And thank you so much for not to wear mask is so beautiful to see the smile and to be humans again God bless all youAntonio L

Friendly staff and good location if you don’t mind the busy Broadway scene The shower in my room (16th floor) had low water pressure, and the “Continental Breakfast” was basically a plain bagel, Coffee and Bananas No gluten-free options, so definitely room for improvement there

Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures of the room and Google won’t allow uploading videos on Google maps, but the room was decent and they didn’t charge me for receiving packages to the hotel — so I definitely appreciate that Overall 4/5 stars with some room for improvement

Wendy G

It’s okay I had a super tiny roomFor my money I prefer Marriott or Smarties Hotel Chain (TM)

Those chains don’t know what a small room is This place is tiny and they ask for your Vaccine card for everything ( so be prepared !! ) Gym is the BEST thing of this whole place Breakfast was toast and bananas Have fun !

Morgan Hill

The staff really make the experience So accommodating Shout out to Josh (go team pineapple on pizza) – started at check in with exceptional service at the front desk as we had a checked bag not make it to New York after airport trouble

They went above and beyond in understanding regarding that After recommending thoughtful venues and nearby facilities we were required to stop at we were directed to the lounge to enjoy the complimentary wine and cheese hour where Valentino took great care of my girlfriend and I on her birthday after a previous stressful commute to New York we were put at ease and forgot the troubles in his attentive care Thank you for making our experience special and memorable

The rooms were incredible I stayed over for a bodybuilding competition near the hotel The room was a spacious, modern suite with full kitchen—refrigerator, microwave, mini–stove, and dishwasher

This was very convenient since I brought meals for the bodybuilding show The front desk staff was especially helpful and accommodating Definitely will stay here again One of the best hotels I’ve experienced

Michael Dias

Nice hotel Made reservations through Reservationscom for a Homewood Suites room with a Manhattan view

When checking in, I was told the room description did not match the listing on Reservationscom Despite room availability, I was given a non-view room on the Hampton Inn side of the hotel I feel this dispute between Reservationscom and Hilton should not result in a room downgrade for a prepaid visit I certainly won’t be using a third party to book in the future I’m undecided about staying here again

Joseph Park

We were not assigned our room until an hour after check in time (3:00) It was only after I asked to speak with the manager was anything actually done about it Please do not take on the capacity if you are not able to handle it

If anything, at least notify guests that rooms will not be ready by the expected time period This was a very special weekend for many people visiting Teaneck and for me, it happened to be tainted by the hotel staff’s inability to accommodate and communicate clearly

The Benjamin is a little gem of a hotelIt was my first time staying here and after reading some of the reviews, I was worried about the room being clean or in good shapeBut instead found a freshly renovated, beautifully appointed and spotless room

The bed and pillows were very comfortable and there is even a mini kitchen area with a coffee machine, microwave and sinkI have stayed in numerous four or even five star hotels in NYC, where apart from the rooms often being shoe boxes, they are not very clean or well maintainedThe Benjamin exceeded expectations and I also so appreciated how courteous and professional all the staff isIt was a lovely stay and I will be backThank you

Lisa Korte

I just had an overwhelmingly positive experience as a guest of this hotel The staff is among the nicest, most down to earth, friendly group of people I have engaged with in the hospitality industry I was coming off of a rough flight, where I was majorly delayed and my luggage was lost

What a relief it was to arrive there and be greeted with smiles and exceptional service Clifford at the front desk was so kind He and I chatted for a while as I was checking out The doorman, (I didn’t get his name) went above and beyond to get in touch with me when there was an issue parking my rental car because silly me took the key fab with me in my purse! Rates were very reasonable for Midtown East and rooms were spacious, clean, and well stocked with anything I neededI’ll be back at The Benjamin Royal Sonesta NYC next summer when I return to the city

Alisha Counsell

Loved our stay at The Benjamin and would recommend to anyone The hotel lobby is beautiful Our room was everything we could ask for and always kept so clean

The staff were lovely and made us feel important even though we were a couple out of hundreds they would see each week If we were to come back to New York we would love to stay here again

Excellent central location Rooms were clean The temperature in the rooms were too warm for us and unfortunately we could not turn it down

The beds were very comfortable The view was fantastic The lounge was comfortable, but needs more staff at breakfast I had to eat at an uncleared table The coffee machine did not work on one day also

Clauds V

I couldn’t have asked for a better hotel while I stayed in Manhattan The staff was very friendly and helpful The rooms were very modern and immaculate

I had a view from my bedroom of Times Square, which was the best part! I felt very safe because after-hours, you need your room key to enter the building and use the elevators There is a bar that serves food and drinks in the evening, and a fitness center Each morning the hotel offers complimentary water bottles and breakfast on the terrace Visitors can also sit and eat on the balcony overlooking the cityso lovely! They offered a variety of choices for breakfast and it was a great way to start off my morning I couldn’t have asked for a better experience I will definitely be returning to the West house hotel in the future

My wife, daughter, and I stayed for 4 nights I’m not sure it’s a 5-star hotel It’s a boutique hotel, so generally more compact size in the lobby and dining area compared to a big true 5/star hotel

Staff was pretty friendly and helpful Room was semi-clean with general cleanliness, but furniture is old and could see crumbs in cracks of tables I believe the resident fee recently went from $30 to $50 We lucked out with booking still being $30 Not a bad deal if you use it for breakfast and light evening meal Plus all you can drink beer and wine Very convenient location with subway entrance almost at front door and Times Square 10 minute walk and Central Park a few blocks north We enjoyed our stay

The staff were amazing, including the very fast service to change out my TV remote when I called down to ask for assistance for my TV: within 2 minutes a service person arrived to assist I recommend room 1404 for the Central Park view We had two rooms, and they were quite large for NYC standards

The breakfast was great; the chef visited all the tables to make sure the diners were happy The door men were great hailing taxis for me The beds were super comfy, and there was no street noise emanating from outside Kudos to the reception staff and the concierge, they were super helpful! I will always stay at the Essex; New York City is back!!!

The location is great It’s in the middle of everything and only 2 blocks from Grand Central Station The room itself was nicely appointed and clean

The shower was delightfulThe reason this hotel does not get 5 stars is noise Throughout the night, I heard other doors slamming, a dog barking, people talking They should sound-proof the rooms better I didn’t hear noise from the street, just from other guests

If you’re ever in NYC, I highly suggest you NEVER stay at Club Quarters Manhattan1 Check-inWhen I arrived at the hotel, it was 3PM–the time listed on my receiptwhere I would be able to check into my room upon arriving inManhattan When I spoke to Joanna at the front desk, I was promptlytold to “wait just 15 minutes” because the room was not ready andhousekeeping had a few more things to complete before I could checkin

15 minutes goes by and I check again This time, Joanna informs methat the room is still not ready, and that she is uncertain about theestimated wait time My colleagues and I had business at 4 PM, and wewere told to “just store your luggage with us and check back later”We comply because we have no other choice but to make it to ourmeetingWe come back at roughly 11 PM There is a new rotation of staff at thedesk and we ask to be checked in This time, the room is ready and Ireceive my keys2 RoomRoughly a month in advance, I booked a room at Club Quarters with thefollowing criteria: Two queen beds, aka, a room that can accommodate 4Adults for a night I check-in past 11 PM and go to my room (408)When my 3 colleagues and I go upstairs, we see that we are given aroom with the following: ONE QUEEN bed, One sofa, One desk At thetime, I thought that this was a joke Club Quarters delayed mycheck-in, and when I am able to get to my room, I’m greeted with aroom that is physically incapable of accommodating what I reserved amonth in advance I go down to the lobby and speak with the frontdesk A man tells me that “your room doesn’t have two beds!” Yes, I’mwell aware of this I ask for a solution to move me to the correctroom, because obviously I was given the incorrect room The manproposes a “solution” He says he cannot give me the room I booked, and instead, calls housekeeping staff to bring two rolling single bedswith tattered mattresses on them, and asks us to accept that insteadHe also follows up with the fact that there will be no duvet for thesebeds, nor pillows! He proposes that we use towels and blanketsinstead, pretending that we have what we booked I’m very displeasedto hear that the solution to my problem of been given the wrong roomis two dinghy beds being wheeled to my suite and asking my colleaguesand I to set up the bedding from scratch Well, the photos and videosof this scene turned out very interesting, considering that the twobeds hardly even fit in my hotel room that was clearly built for nomore than 2 people3 Room keysAs mediocre compensation for delaying our check-in the previous day,we were permitted with a late check-out This works with our schedulebecause we would be able to store our luggage in the room while weleft to attend a meeting at 1PM When we return at 2 (check-out is3PM), our room keys had been deactivated When we spoke to the frontdesk, Joanna assures me that she knew that this was the case For somereason, the hotel thought it was a good idea to deactivate our cardsand make us return to the lobby and wait for half an hour just to letus access our room again

Great hotel in good location just off Times Square Comfortable beds, awesome air conditioning, clean bathrooms, free filtered water and free espresso coffee in lobby Our room was on inside corridor so it was very quiet for sleeping

Only draw back was room was small but just fine for 2 people and 2 nights stay Would stay here again

Location is great Rooms were clean but small Square footage was correct, but room layout not as pictured on website

Only one elevator, so be prepared to wait every time you use it I was hoping for breakfast I saw in the pictures, but now you get cheap pre packaged breakfast sandwiches instead of real food, although it is still better than your average hotelAir conditioner broke on my last night there I notified the front desk but nothing was done until after I left and no compensation

My family and I stayed here last week and we are very happy with our choice The rooms were clean, we had our own little kitchen (which we used everyday for dinner), the location was excellent and we loved having a complementary breakfast – with good products and very convenient for starting our day early and making the most of our time The staff was really nice

I’d like to highlight the excellent service of Jose, he was around in the morning during our breakfast He was always so friendly, helpful and attentive with everything Always with a smile on his face He spoke Spanish and my parents loved talking with him He adviced us on where to go and gave us recommendations – it was our first time in the city, so this was especially appreciated We will be recommending this hotel to our friends and familySome cons:The room wasn’t too big, not much storage spaceWe used the sofa bed – the mattress was thin and uncomfortable, you could feel the bed springsThere’s only one elevator, it can take long to come, especially in the morningsThe breakfast was very good for the price, many options, good quality, most of it was processed and sweet – but don’t expect toast or warm dishes except porridge

Really loved this hotel Our king bed was extremely comfortable- sheets as wellWe stayed at the hotel for almost a week while we were searching for apartments

I had to work remote and the downstairs area was perfect and internet was good enough for my zoom meetingsBreakfast varied but I would say very convenient and coffee was above decent (Not watered down!) Also – hands down to the gentleman working the breakfast area – always on top of things and making sure everyone had what they neededThe staff was incredibly friendly and mindful I appreciated their service House keeping did an amazing job!!! We were always taken care ofI would say for me the only downside is the area It’s not really close to any restaurants or bars, but a short walk to the train Personally I didn’t like walking back from the train when it was late to the hotel – so I ubered But during the day everything felt fineThe kitchenette in the room was also convenient Everything just felt nice and new – I felt very comfortable all week
