rooms aren’t bad generally clean; mattress pad had stains wouldn’t replaceif you have Children i would not recommend this place

staff has poor Customer interaction skills the guy in 419 complained daily final straw was at 5pm on 6/26 when the lackey on for the hotel told me that if i didn’t keep my children quiet we’d have to leave he comes back 10 minutes later because creeper in 419 complained again this time he tells me that if i can’t control my kids he’s calling the police because he doesn’t want to deal with itfor context kids are 5, 18 months only complaints were made during 10am to 7pm……hotel “quiet hours” are 10pm-7am

Just spent July 3rd to July 7th at Candlewood Suites and all the staff there were really friendly and helpful and the room was amazing Looks like it was just freshly remodeledWe didn’t arrive until 3 am the first night but checking in was a breeze, our room keys were right there at the desk waiting for us and we ended up adding a extra night with late checkout with no major issues, the one minor issue we had was after 11 am on day of check out our keycard automatically stopped working even though we were checking out late, thankfully my daughter was still in the room to let me back in

The beds were so comfortable and the entire room was very clean The bathroom had Dove body wash, shampoo, conditioner dispenser in shower and Dove hand soap and lotion dispenser by the sink I really like that less mess compared to the bar soaps and travel sized shampoo and conditionerThe hotel is also conveniently located near restaurants and Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree and Aldi’sWill definitely be staying there again the next time we are in the area

We stayed 2 nights Comfy beds great breakfast I had requested 1st floor because of my mobility issue when I first booked

Upon arriving I again requested main floor because stairs are difficult if fire or any issue And I was refused Very disappointing and there was a lack of concern on the her part for that Many hotels in the area too pick from The rest of the employees were wonderful happy and very pleasant

This hotel leads the Watertown community in excellent customer service I come to Watertown, NY every year for 2 weeks at a time and have had the opportunity to stay at various hotels This year the Holiday Inn exceeded my expectations

The staff was accommodating and so pleasant In addition, this is possibly the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed inThe breakfast was fresh, hot and plentiful There was good food variety day to day Only the orange juice was ever in short supplyHouse keeping was efficient and thorough I would highly recommend this hotel for an extended stay or a quick overnight trip

It is definitely old fashioned but was extremely clean Great location, and had everything you would needAs long as a place is clean and things work, I will never complain about a place this cheap

Location is right off 81 and about 5 minutes from a couple of fast food places Water for the shower was hot and good pressure Heating and a/c worked well This is the perfect place to crash for a night after a day of driving and/or coming from CanadaThere is a kitchenette as well which is nice

Customer service here is appalling, to be honest, reception is pure RACIST They had the vacancy neon light on when I walked in to ask for a room The two old ladies acted “confused” as of they didn’t understand that I needed a room to sleep

After consulting back and forth, they told me that there is no room As I walked out of the reception, they turn the vacancy light off A few minutes after I left, I drove by just to see the vacancy light back on

Very outdated Smelled like mold as soon as we entered our room Saw stains on our sheets, whether they had been washed or not should not matter

More than once, staff was not available when we tried reaching them Lastly, we ended up with BED BUG BITES from there, specifically room 101 If I could include photos with this review post, Trust me I would!!! The staff were not remorseful whatsoever when we reported it to them, and they continued to say it was not their residence to blame Careless disappointing facility

This place is dated, dirty, and disappointing The lobby is nice enough but the rooms need major attentionThe security latch on my door was loose

The holes in the door frame were too big so it could not be fixed by tightening the screws There was mold on the bathroom ceiling The thermostat displayed an error message and couldn’t be adjusted The overall maintenance is lacking: chipped paint, stains on furniture, mattress was sagging, pillows were lumpyCleaning seemed like it was done in 5 minutes by a 12 year old The hinges in the toilet seat were caked with nastiness that clearly accumulated over a long time Same with the showerhead and corners of the floorsWhen I explained my concerns to the front desk I was simply told, “Thank you for letting us know” Having paid nearly $200 a night, I expected much more

I get that it’s a lower star hotel because of the price and amenities, but as far as customer service goes, this place is 5-star all the way It is a cheaper hotel, but that’s what makes the customer service so outstanding – great rate and super friendly staff/management! Side note: People complaining about the breakfast need to manage their expectations If you want the red carpet rolled out, don’t book a budget hotel

This stay exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be staying here again the next time I’m in the area! Thank you, Mr Patel and staff! For many reason, this was a 5-star stay!

Overall a decent stay Good service, the hotel is clean and well maintained, and the price and location are good My review would be higher except for the fact that they cut every corner possible on amenities

The “breakfast” consists of yogurt and cereal, but if you aren’t there as soon as it opens they run out of everything So don’t plan on getting a filling breakfast at any point, and don’t expect to even consistently get foodThe “fitness center” consists solely of a treadmill, a bike, and a pull-up barThe mini fridge barely seals and lacks a freezer section, and on top of that the microwave overheats and stops workingNot a bad hotel for a few nights, but I would not recommend it for long stays

Shelina Millan

Dangerous We decided to stay here for two nights as it had two Queen beds and a pull out couch which would accommodate our family When we arrived and pulled out the sofa bed it was filthy

I called down to the office they brought me a vacuum cleaner and watched me clean the bed During the night someone tried to open our door Luckily they did not get in as we had the security latch at the top of the door on We noticed that the door would not close When we alerted staff they said that they were aware of the door issue and that we heeded to pull up on the door to latch it securely (Would have been nice to know in advance) The manager came up and fixed the door and said that he would make the bill right Come to find out a dirty room and lack of safety means only 10% off the bill I do not recommend staying here

Stayed here for a work trip that had me commuting to Ft Drumm < 30 daily Although this was a nice place to stay, it's difficult to get 5 stars Being in Watertown you get lake effect snow during the winter, a lot of snow

The staff at the front desk as well as in the restaurant were all exceptional, friendly, kind, and very helpful My only complaint was with the room Right away I had noticed my sink was leaking, I notified the staff and got fixed that day I asked for an additional refrigerator because the one in my room was small, specially for a long term stay They scrounged up a working one and placed it in my room, that was awesome! The fitness center is pretty good for a hotel, and the whirlpool was nice along with the indoor pool Loved the cooked to order breakfasts, and the dinner specials were usually pretty good I will certainly stay here again, hopefully it’ll be in the summertime

From the outside this place appears nice but that impression quickly fades upon entering Most of the staff is courteous and professional but the rooms and interior of the hotel itself seem indifferently maintained My room was not particularly clean (there was “debris” in the toilet), the sink drain was broken, and there was an unpleasant mildew smell in the carpet

There were discoloration marks and a warped wall opposite the bathroom sink that suggests there had been a leak at some point and that likely got under the carpet, possibly causing the smell I asked for a different room but the front desk told me the entire hotel was booked and that strangely management does not hold a room or two in reserve for issues like this even in a facility of this size That’s not the desk staff’s fault – that is a failure at the ownership/management level that is beneath Hilton standardsIt’s not that complicated Give your staff the tools and the authority to keep your customers happy You’ll have happier customers, happier staff, and a more successful business
