Came into town for my sons PIR Check in process was very simple I even needed to make reservation changes during my stay because my son was getting weekend overnight liberty and we wanted to split time in the city

They waived fees and helped us with dinning options Our room was great, clean, and we loved having a full fridge, stove, and dishes to eat and hang out with family and our SR comfortably My son has A school here so we will be back to see him again and will certainly be staying here!!! Thanks for everything to the GM and Chad for all your help

Pros: Room was a suite with kitchenette for under $70, so it was a pretty good value It was reasonably clean, and the bed was comfortableThe breakfast was decent – all individually wrapped packaged food, like breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, oatmeal

Cons: there were a couple broken alcohol bottles on the sidewalk between buildings My room also had very little soundproofing from outside noise, and the furnace was very loud, kicking on every fifteen minutes or so

**update** After staying at this hotel for 22 nights (checking in and out over several weeks,) I will not earn any points or upgraded member perks, because I booked through United which was still cheaper than booking through the members website that has a discountFor work, I have stayed at several different hotels in the area I prefer this one, because this is an extended stay suite where you have a full refrigerator, 2 burner stove top, dishwasher, and kitchen with dishes

I have not had time to use the amenities Pets are accepted The rooms are not very sound proof The person on 2nd/3rd shift is super friendly and easy to talk with

Service was fine, and the cleanliness and sleep quality was fine as well, but this place gives off the vibes of an old hotel that has been given a fresh coat of paint, and some issues have seeped through the cracks Don’t pick this hotel if you’re looking for a classic family vacation destination, as there is no pool and no complimentary breakfast (But you can pay for breakfast items at the onsite cafe or use the fitness center that seems to have replaced what was a pool area

) Some small complaints are the lack of microwaves in the rooms and the mowing starting at 8:30am Monday morning The most inconvenient part of our stay was the poor quality of the mini fridge Not only was it impressively small, but it barely generated its own cold We had to put a bag of ice in there with our food to make sure it wouldn’t go bad, which was inconvenient due to the aforementioned lack of space

William Scruggs

Fam stayed here for couple nights Remodeled in September On going into room picked up hand towel to dry face and saw somebody had used it as buttwipe/TP

Immediately brought it up to front desk where they continually apologizedAfter kid saw towel and pulled a face they told us they would add points to account Still haven’t seen points or heard back since checkout

Jody Britton

First time staying in this location The hotel is beautiful, it’s clean and it’s quiet, but by far the friendliest front desk staff I have experienced to date Main reason for the review and will definitely be back

Chantil has been here every night, has greeted us, made conversation with us, remembers us and is just an all around pleasant person

The service was great the rest of our stay was drab Stayed on the first floor There were very few guests so it was quiet

We ending up keeping the curtains closed as there was a lot of garbage scattered outside our windowOur room was basically empty and not very welcoming The beds were rough and the bed frame clanked any time you moved Mattress definitely needs replaced- no bugs but still not in the best or cleanest shape Seeing that the bathroom was somewhat recently redone was refreshingThe pool is tiny and unfortunately during our stay was full of garbage We kept pulling out piece of broken plastic cupsThe location isn’t the best and the entrance into parking lot is TERRIBLE but I don’t think that really part of this specific hotel Overall I don’t think I’ll be booking here again

Lorena Davis

Room was very clean It looks like they are in the process of updating the rooms Some things looked really new while the carpet was worn out

But I was just happy to have a nice clean room The beds are decent Not as comfortable as home, but definitely not too bad for an affordable hotel The pool is saltwater, which was a nice surprise Staff was super friendly and personable Location is awesome too Next to Dunkin Donuts which is a must, and a short distance from Gurnee Mills and Great America Breakfast looked great! They had biscuits and gravy and they had waffle irons out Unfortunately, I was in a hurry in the morning and didn’t have a chance to try it I will definitely stay here again when I’m in the area

cleophus arrington

Looked very promising when I walked in Room seemed clean at first glance but once you look closer you see it could use a lot of work Bed was comfortable

Tiles in bathroom were cracked I took a shower and stood in almost knee high water by the end of it and found some trash in a cabinet that looked like it had been there for years Wont be staying here again

Timothy Harding

Front desk employee was sitting in the back room while I waited over 10 minutes at the front desk to check in They should get a bell if that is how they operate Bathroom was not very clean and room had only hand towels

No actual bath towels could be found and of course I noticed this at 5:30am Ordered pizza from my favorite place with plans on taking it home to my family Put it in the refrigerator only to notice when I was leaving that they have them turned off So all my food was ruined I will definitely be finding a new place to stay while coming to the area

Stacy Redmond

I recently booked a double suite for my grandson’s birthday and the accommodations were horrible I’ve stayed here many times and never had an issue they didn’t handle but , this time was different The entire kitchen in the room had issues

The garbage disposal went out and backed up the sink, dishwasher was receiving dirty water from backed up sink/disposal, one burner on stove didn’t work, and surface light on microwave didn’t work Called for maintenance and was told 15 minutes well, a hour and a half later I called again to reach Anastacia at the front desk who was NO HELP I was told there was no maintenance or house keeping available but, she could move us to two rooms Again, it was a birthday party and I had 5 small children and had decorated the room and was cooking dinner on the one burner we had So, I explained why moving wasn’t an option and asked about the bill Anastacia’s response was “I’m not touching your bill but I can offer the two rooms At no time outside of the two rooms did she offer any other solution At which time I tried contacting the General Manager So we’ll see what happens because this was poor treatment of a customer

My wife and I stayed here about a week ago it was a three-day visit We were in town for our son’s graduation from Navy boot camp which was just a few minutes awayOn the first evening about 1:30 a

m my wife woke screaming saying that something had bit her while sleeping She had multiple bites on the back of her leg and they got inflamed quickly I immediately went down to the front desk and they changed our room right away Even though we did not sleep well that first night the rest of the stay was fineI spoke to the assistant hotel manager late the next morning her name was TracyTracy told me they had the room inspected about 8 am that morning they did not find anything I told her obviously something was in the bed and bit my wife we even have photos and video to show it I told her there was obviously about a 5 or 6 hour gap from when we were in the room and when they had it inspected I asked her if there would be any type of compensation for that one night she said it was kind of out of her hands and it was a Marriott decisionI spoke to Marriott representative by phone and they told me the same thing that it was out of their hands and up to the hotel manager I left two voicemails for the hotel manager after our stay was done she did not get back to me she had Marriott call me and remind me that I would get no compensationThis was quite an inconvenience as I said we changed the room about 2 am ,we were up for the graduation at 5:30 am and barely sleptMarriott and the Courtyard Marriott Hotel assistant manager offered no type of resolution to us except “you say something happened and we cannot prove that it did”It was a terrible resolution they could have done something for us ,we paid to eat breakfast there a few days and we also paid and ate dinner and had drinks in the lobby for a few nightsMy wife and I travel a lot and I’ve never had an incident like this before in our lifetimeAgain the incident was not really acknowledged and was handled very poorly I would strongly advise anyone from staying in this hotel because it seems obvious to me if there is any type of conflict you will not get any sympathy or any type of resolution to the problemWe are highly disappointed and insulted in Marriott itself and in this hotel

Staff was friendly, location was great, room was clean but only small complaints The room had a odor, like a moldy odor, I went to Walgreens nearby to get a candle because the odor was not pleasant One more thing was the bugs, there’s insects and bugs coming out of the heat and AC vents so I didn’t turn it on because I didn’t want to get a room full of insects

If These things improved or someone sealed the vents and cleaned out the vents, made improvements to the smell, this hotel would be great! Thank you!

The Smitty

Went to check in on 7/14 and upon arrival the front desk person was outside as I was walking in He asked “are you checking in” and I said “yes” He said “well let me see if your room is ready because it might not be”

The time was later than 130pm My train was very late getting in After looking at a monitor for 2 seconds he said “your rooms not ready” He didn’t call the cleaning ladies to find out how long it would be and just said come back at 3pm which I understand is check in time I explained to him that I am a diamond elite member and I requested a 2pm check out He said he could do 1pm and would have to see how the reservations worked out and let me know I again explained to him that I am a diamond elite member which means I stay at IHG Properties a lot He did not care and honestly his customer service skills were off right from seeing him at the door Like I said, I’ve stayed at numerous IHG properties and I’m always greeted with a good evening or good morning, once they check me in they thank me for being a diamond elite member and remind me of points that I would get, sometimes even a bottle of water I walked past that lobby to go out at least 6 times and not a person at that desk opened their mouth to say anything Only the breakfast lady spoke When I checked out the same guy was at the desk and when I put my keys in the return he didn’t say “thank your for your stay or have a good day” and I checked out today With that being said the conditions of the rooms were very dated, patched up holes in the walls, chipped paint and the sofa bed look like it was picked up off a street corner Definitely will not stay at this holiday inn express again

That Girl

Good location, in hotel row near a few decent places to eat or Walmart walkable

Affordable rates, indoor pool, decent breakfast Bedding linens a bit dingy and tattered That old synthetic cheap kind that cling to you when u sleep… owner should upgrade, they are horrible to sleep under But staff was friendly, all in all a pleasant stay

Mo Lawal

This was by far my worst experience in ANY hotel ever! Check-in was horrible: received key cards to room that was broken The cleaning ladies were VERY helpful in getting us situated I honestly will never book her even for free

I understand it’s hard to deal with the public but you get paid to do a job I also found ants in our room I was so disgusted with my initial service I refused to bring the problem up to the front desk and went to the local store and bought some insects killer Outside of having a great location this was definitely not the best of what Holiday Inn should be

Heya Howdy

I had a horrible experience just trying to book a room for this weekend My son is graduating from boot camp and my ex-husband and I wanted to get separate rooms in the same hotel so the kids could go back and forth from room to room I booked a 2 night stay on their website, and got an email verifying so

4 days after booking my room I called to check on something and was told my reservation could not be located The hotel could not even find my info using my confirmation number After 3 different people and 30 minutes of wait time, I was told my reservation was cancelled the same day I booked it No answer as to why or by whom I didn’t cancel it The hotels system obviously had made a mistake or error Without trying to help me or offer any customer service whatsoever, I was told the hotel was now fully booked and I had to look elsewhere Even tho I still had my email showing when and what I had previously booked! How sad they didn’t even offer any help at all! Luckily I was able to find a room at another hotel close by My ex-husband said they had also messed up his reservation but he was able to fix it in time Please be VERY careful of booking on line with them If you do take that chance please follow up after doing so I will not be booking with them again as I’ve seen how they handle their own customer service issues

Traci Walker

We came here because my son was graduating from The Navy Boot Camp which was 15 minutes away The rooms were very nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful I came a second time to visit about a month later and had arrived early

My room was not ready yet so they offered me an upgraded room so I can get in a room instead of waiting in the lobby for a few hours I was very happily surprised and very comfortable There are stores and restaurants literally across the street so that was pretty handy too Very nice place and Devan at the desk was very helpful and friendly I highly recommend!! Plus great complimentary breakfast spread in the morning

Viraj Summers

People are friendly Location is great But if your stay in long then get ready to clean your own room

I had asked for a cleaning for the room on the 3rd day, since I had 2 kids and 2 dogs But they said no, and gave me sheets So I had to make my own beds It was disappointing There was NO point in cleaning the room the day before I was checking out I would not stay here again

I would give the customers service here no stars but you can’t But first I would like to thank Hailey the GM of this place for her rude and disrespectful customer service Thank you Hailey for canceling my paid for reservations which lead me to spending an extra $1200

00 because you didn’t like the fact that we didn’t want the rooms by the office Thanks Hailey for throwing our cards at us Thanks Hailey for refusing us and refusing to let us rebook our rooms I now know what it must of felt like back in the 30s, 40s, and 50s Thanks Hailey because of you I was able to avoid rachetness!!! She has her employees job scared to speak up for what’sright (Blake) Thanks Hailey because of you I found somewhere more desirable to stay Thank you Hailey for this awful experience… People please do not stay here Its not worth it Better Room or down the street and I would rather sleep in my car Peace

This is by far the BEST Hilton property we have visited I worked in front office hospitality for 3 years and we lodge in hotels for my husbands work often so I am usually very picky…honestly I haven’t found a single thing to critique about this property!Niki and Leo from breakfast are so delightful My two year old daughter especially loves the extra attention “Miss Niki” shows her in delivering her breakfast with love

Niki also is so friendly to every guest that comes down I never see anyone leave with a frown She has a super power of de-escalating grumpy guestsIsrael’s breakfast is on point, he makes everything fresh and as you order so everything turns out perfect every timeEveryone from the front office has also been so helpful with anything we need help with Greg has been super helpful to create an efficient check-in and helps us with securing a parking spot to charge our carCleaning staff has been on top of everything, they keep all common areas so clean and fresh I was super impressed to see that when they mop the floors, they have a second person come by to dry so no slippery floor!Great job to the hiring management for staffing this hotel Seriously, this property should be used as an example to other properties that are opening

Hampus Engstroem

Hotel was pretty good Room was standard, felt a bit aged and non-updated It was quite annoying that the restaurant wasn’t open since it stated that the hotel had an on-site restaurant when I booked it, with no mention of it being closed, and no other option close enough to walk to

The breakfast was good, except I felt like I over paid by booking a room with breakfast included as I only ate from the cold buffet, which was ~$6 a day If you’re more of a hot food (ie omelettes, pancakes, waffles, etc) breakfast person, it’s probably a good deal, as that was $14 a day if I remember correctlyOverall it was a good stay

Ashley Odett

Very pleased with my stay here March 14-15th Hotel lobby and rooms were clean and inviting Rooms have great wifi and ethernet hookups, which was convenient for both personal and business use

Staff here is excellent! They were very accommodating in the lobby area while we had a small gathering during our stay Can’t speak highly enough of the service received from the dinner/bar staff during both breakfast and dinner hours Front desk staff was also friendly and informative regarding any questions that I had during my stay I was slightly disappointed to see the pool and hot tub closed during this time for cleaning, but glad to see it was being done, and felt no inconvenience as staff had already made arrangements for guests to use these facilities at a separate hotel adjacent to the parking lot 5/5 will definitely be staying here again next time I am in the area

We stayed 3 days and 2 nights and the kids really enjoyed this place The location is convenient right off of the expressway and the lodge was very clean Just like any other business, they are short on staff due to the lack of workers however, their customer service and patience was exceptional

We arrived early and our room was ready Yes the line to check in was long due to the mobile app being down but again, just get there early and be patient and understanding Their front desk staff was very helpful and knowledgeable once you check in to make sure you have all the details you need for your stayThe room was outstanding! The kids had their own cabin like area which they were super excited about and it was spacious enough for the adult section There were plenty of towels and we needed an iron which I was able to ask for through the app and they brought it right upThroughout the stay they sent chat messages asking how everything was going which I thought was great The water park was super clean and the kids loved every minute of it Super convenient to have everything on the wristband so you do not have to worry about losing anything and it was super safe and cashless All in all, if you have children 12 and under they will love this place! We cannot WAIT to go back!!

Berry Torres

Celebrated my daughters 3rd birthday here this past weekend It was a very busy Wait times for food was quite long (roughly 45-1 hour) but understandable with place being short staffed and it being a busy weekend

Food was fresh and pretty good Don’t recommend the Cesar salad Was extremely small for the price and didn’t like the Caesar dressing or the cherry tomatoes (weird for a Caesar) Drinks were great from the bar inside pool area Same bartender I’ve seen past few times we’ve gone and he’s always really great Life guards watch kids like a hawk and constantly check pools, slides and lazy river They made us feel more at ease and safe with our little ones swimming Checkin and checkout was pretty smooth Loved the birthday package we purchased and the cake was delicious Sense I’m really honest with my personal reviews, I really wanted to give 5 stars because I really like going there with my family However day of checkout, we decided to go for our last swim and grab a bite before heading out We sat on chairs close to the lazy river and I seen 2 bugs (cockroaches) scattering next to the garbage can Can say I lost my appetite and we left shortly after Still gave 4 stars for our overall experience and enjoyment prior to that

Aaron Williams

The family absolutely enjoyed every minute we were there My son loved the climbing wall and ropes course and especially the water slides My daughter turned the lazy river into the racing river

Worth every penny The new package for everyone in your room to have unlimited climbing wall, ropes course, bowling, and putt putt is a great deal Definitely plan on going back in the future

The breakfast was just okay The staff was very nice We would/will stay there againThe sofa was a bit worn and uncomfortable to sit on A fridge was placed in the closet that used to have a door The click and lock flooring is very cheap, but maybe by design since they allow pets

The staff is really nice, the lobby has plenty of space for hanging out with friends The breakfast shop offerings are affordable and look great The only big problem I have is with how little sound proofing the rooms have

For the whole night I was listening to bathroom flushes in the adjacent rooms And starting from about 6am I started hearing banging of doors because of how the room doors are designed to slam, very loudly, especially through thin walls Then the vaccuming in the hallway started around 7am I get it, it’s not a 5-star luxury hotel, but I think some little things can improve to make the stay more enjoyable

The staff was nice, but I cannot say the same about our stay We had adjoining rooms and both were horrible!! Mold was in the ceilings and there was a stench of sewage The couches were soiled, food was on the wall, and the headboards, bed skirts and sheets were all dirty

The sinks were slow to drain, feces was on the toilet and the shower doors would not stay closedAnts were crawling between our beds, on the bathroom walls and floors, which were also spacing Housekeeping did not change our linen while we were away, as requested, and because of the issues we kept encountering, they switched our room 3 times My children and I were very displeased by the upkeep of this hotel property and opted to end our getaway However, there is a $50 early departure fee, totaling $100 for both rooms As for customer service: After submitting a complaint and photos of our stay, a representative’s email stated it was “hard to get in touch with me due the time difference” No one has followed up with me since

Had an extended stay at this residence inn, the staff were all wonderful, friendly and accommodating I’d like to specifically mention Miriam the breakfast host- she was a highlight of my stay! Always so friendly, kind and thoughtful She clearly put so much love into her work and it shows

She made my mornings a little brighter! I would recommend this hotel to anyone, not only for cleanliness but for superior hospitality

I have been staying at this location weekly since January 2022 The staff has been nothing short of incredible and welcoming In particular, the night lead, Jared, has been very kind and thoughtful, ensuring my stay is the best it can be

He even goes the extra step to include things like extra water and towels, upgrades when possible, and evening putting out my favorite candy in the front desk candy dish when I am there! The rooms are very clean, the property is well-kept, and the breakfast areas are safely maintained While I initially chose to stay there due to it being close to my work location, I now regularly go back there because they truly take care of me I recommend staying here if you are in need of a long-term stay option!

Quality hotel What truly makes this a 5/5 stay verus any other Marriott hotel is the INCREDIBLE staff In particular, Miriam (the breakfast host/chef) has the best hospitality and kindest soul Some mornings I would arrive after the breakfast was closed from an overnight shift at the hospital and she would save me a breakfast sandwich in a bag to make sure I didn’t miss out

She is something special!!

This specific hotel itself was great Stuff happens and things break My room was almost $250 for my kids and I

This was supposed to be a special experience and memory for them as it was their first competition They are young Didn’t need to purchase a hotel room we don’t live that far but wanted them to be well rested Both AC units could not keep up with the room It happens I didn’t make a big deal about it because I work outside for the most part all year round Was still trying to make it a positive, memorable experience for my two Littles Maintenance couldn’t come till 9pm The room on both sides were close to 80 Staff and management were kind, respectful, and did what they can Hilton however, their customer service was incompetent, unprofessional, and wasted my time The hotel itself has no way to help in this situation after you leave because the advance payment was through Hilton DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE OR THROUGH HILTON Pay Doubletree if possible

Sandra Revnell

The room was on the small side but clean Generally speaking, the décor of the hotel is both drab and dated The hotel appeared short-staffed, with only one person attending the front desk

As a result, all attempts to call the front desk were in vain – they went unanswered If you need to stay here, use the app and digital key to check-in — you will wait at the front desk for far too long to get a room key

Extremely friendly staff, especially Becka walking distance to CTCA but they also provide shuttle services every 20 minutes If you are a light sleeper make sure you ask for the parking side room not the street side

Most rooms air conditioner doesn’t meet the standards of someone from Texas 🙂 The water pressure could be a bit better but overall very pleasant experience There are only three handicap spots sharing with several other businesses so expect to either be dropped off by someone caring for you or plan to walk a pretty great distance

Great location Good restaurants near by Coffee shop on site

Rooms were clean and comfortable It was quiet Good view Price was a little high in relation to accommodations, but not extremely high They also offer a chill meeting room Good for business or romantic travel But if travelling alone I would select a different hotel

I cannot say enough great things about this place My house had a carbon monoxide issue in the middle of the night that required us to vacate Not only did this hotel take us at 3 AM but they set up the pack n play in my room for my 1 year old daughter so I could get her back to sleep quickly

Loved the room- perfect for traveling with kids (separate door for after the baby went to sleep) AND our dog! Thank you so much for keeping us safe!

Bradley Stratz

Nice little place away from home Only issue that I had Told the service desk that I will have a late checkout

As I work nights and sleep through the day While I was sleeping I put the “do not disturb” sign up on the outside door As well as locked both the door handle and door stopper on the pillar The house keeping consistently ignored the sign and tried multiple times to get into my room while I was sleepingi was not able to get a good sleep They need to train their staff or communicate with their staff appropriately

Amy McGee

Doesn’t even deserve the star nor my hard earned money My whole entire stay was nothing but harassment and disgust by management Never once we my room cleaned by housekeeping even when I asked them for it but still never did it the once a wk that they told me I needed to request for

I had to change my own lines and towels and kitchen stuff I also had to wash the stuff because I wasn’t always given the stuff Tried to get my money back from the bank they said I had to go through them Their customer service line isn’t helpful either They didn’t need to talk to management about my claim and they could’ve given me back my money because of the disrespect and disgusting service that I received there I feel bad for the front desk ladies that they have to deal with horrible managers They should never had gotten my money I should’ve gone and stayed at Extended Stay where they have bigger rooms and better kitchens and better service
