Marriott set their own bar…and this one has not met that bar; it’s Not worth the co$t Very disappointed Does not meet the Marriott standard

The staff was friendly and kindThe place is mostly cleaned well, other than a couple interesting mold growthsBreakfast: If you like breakfast burritos; Green Chili burritos are served Very tastyThe rooms we had were out of date (i lived in an apartment in 1990 that had the same kitchen and bathroom cabinets) The bathroom counter is a great height for a four year old, not so comfortable for even an average height adultThe bedside phone did not work (totally broken) The bathroom lighting is dim and not good for doing makeup The bathroom fan is loud as a muffler-less truck The bathroom floor tiles and grout are cracked And there is mold on the shower caulkingThe main floor bedroom space was not well planned (furniture not well placed) The kitchen had one days worth of coffee (one 12 cup pot) and only 4 packets of sugar The blankets are thin There are only four mugs and four water glasses for a place which can sleep up to sixThe business center is without wifi; no wireless printer, no internet access When one needs technology, but it is not made available… in this day and age, at this price point is there a good excuse? And a little heads up; the pool is not covered, therefore it’s not open 9 months of the yearThis was a disappointing stay

Brandy Carrico

Rooms are old and needs upgrades but despite that, they are clean and in decent shape Walls are thin You can hear the other guests cough in their rooms

Free breakfast and coffee every morning!Outdoor pool that’s open seasonallyAll of their washers are either not working or work horribly Don’t clean your clothes there if you can help it

Clint Houchens

To start, this was the worst experience I have ever had in a Marriott branded hotel I travel very frequently, enough to hold Marriotts highest loyalty level When I arrived the front desk staff was friendly and checkin was fine

When I went to my room and looked around the property, there are a lot of maintenance issues, it just looks dirty I entered my room and at first look it was OK, nothing great, a little tired but OK I always do an inspection of the bed and mattress What I found were bed bugs I took some pictures and left the room and went back to the front desk I let the front desk agent know what I found, she apologized and place me in another room I went to that room and found the same thing She met me at the room with a key to a 3rd room and when we went there, we could not open the door The key appeared to work, but the door was stuck At this point I asked to be checked out and asked if there was another Marriott property close I was told there was another hotel around the corner They didn’t offer to assist with getting a room there or offer any compensation for the huge inconvenience I never spoke to a Manager, and have never been contacted by management with an apology or a follow-up I would not recommend anyone stay at this property and in my opinion Marriott Corporate needs to take a deep look at this property 2 rooms with signs of Bed bugs and a run down exterior tells me the owner doesn’t care about this property

Location is great! It’s a little older but it’s nice and clean Breakfast was free and it was good I would like to have a dish soap for the bathroom

I can’t stand having the soap wet sitting on the counter So we improvised and used a face cloth as the soap dish Fitness room was really small but if all you need is a treadmill and elliptical then it works

Dan Benshoff

I can’t say anything was terrible but nothing was great It was fine The rooms are decent size and moderately new

They don’t do daily service which sucks — you have to remember to tell them way in advance They did let our large group play cards in the breakfast area late at night which was nice The breakfast is horrible unless you like cereal

Russell Graham

The Fairfield Inn was a decent hotel: quiet and professional The hotel is an older structure Some guests may not like the fact that on the fourth floor, there is some renovation work being completed during the day

We were three rooms down from the active work and didn’t hear anything, which was a reliefOtherwise, we had a decent stay

Stayed here on Saturday June 4th We came down to Eugene from WA for my best freinds funeral unfortunately It is my birthday weekend so my wife wanted to salvage what she could of it and booked us a room here

When we arrived we were greeted by Morgan with so much warmth and kindness My wife had mentioned it was my birthday and they put out some decorations and a card and upgraded our roomA lot hotel claim to be dog friendly but act put out Not here! We had dog beds and toys sent up and Morgan even came out from behind front desk and greeted our ancient dog personallyEvery other staff member was also extremely kind and helpful I would also like to note that the rose festival was going on and they were extremely busy and still had the best customer service we have received at a hotel in PortlandThank you!

Stayed at the hotel Deluxe for a night with some girlfriends We were able to get early check-in Our room was fantastic

Easy Uber rides to Keller Auditorium where we saw Hamilton After the show, we got back to the hotel and had a drink at the Driftwood, I chose to have the bartender make me a drink of his choiceI’m not a drinker, so when I got my cocktail, it was a surprise how much I enjoyed said cocktail After drinks, we ended up walking a few blocks to the Melting Pot, had a fantastic dinner and was easily able to Uber back to the hotel We woke up the next morning and had breakfast downstairs at Gracie’sgreat staff, delicious food, convenient location, we just took the elevator down We were able to go back to our and relax before our very easy check-outAll in all, such a fabulous stay at a beautiful hotel Great atmosphere The front desk was helpful and inviting Looking forward to booking another girls night when we go to another show at Kellers

Safal Neupane

I was travelingSo, I called in to reserve a room I was told the price and the time I am supposed to check out

I traveled for 30 minutes in the middle of night to get there to find out it was all lie The price went up, the check out went down Is it a simple misunderstanding? Or a way to take advantage? Such a big hotel and The hotel might be good hotel to stay but in terms of hospitality, might not be the best choice

Very nice historical hotel, with all the charm but all the modern features one would expect today We stayed in a King Suite The room was incredibly spacious, and clean

The bed was very comfortable and there were tons of pillows The AC didn’t work as well as we would have liked but the room temp was still comfortable Self parking was available for free and breakfast was delicious with a made to order omelette bar

Tara Henry

Our hotel stay was great, we loved how friendly the staff was and they were quick to respond to our added requests The complimentary cocktail hour could have used more sacks but when your getting free drinks there isn’t much to complain about The complimentary breakfast was great, with made to order eggs/omelets it was definitely good

Only negative we have is that the parking prices were steep and the parking garage was not well secured, we felt uncomfortable walking there at night due to the plethora or homeless hanging out

Jennifer R

I was the primary meeting planner and event coordinator for a meeting at this hotel and they were SO excellent Mary, the event planner that I primarily worked with and spoke to prior to my arrival in Portland, was exemplary and I am so appreciative for all her help In fact, I didn’t speak to a single employee of the hotel that wasn’t extremely helpful and friendly

The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms were spacious and clean My meeting attendees had a great time and were very complimentary of the hotel and staff as well I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again as a guest (for personal travels) and my organization would certainly consider hosting another meeting at this hotel if/when we return to Portland

One of the best Best Western I’ve stayed in The hotel is very clean and the staffs are friendly The beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean

We booked the two bed-room suite and was very happy with the layout and how spacious everything was Free coffee in the front lobby is a winI would definitely stay here again when I’m back in town There was free breakfast but due to lack of staff, we received McDonald’s voucher for breakfast Can’t say I can have that for 5 days straight 😏

Mariah West

Absolutely the worst stay! Very upset with how we were treated in dealing with our reservation!I was quoted one thing over the phone and sent and email and paid a different price than quote When my family tried to check in they were told they couldn’t find the reservationWe left for the day and asked for our room to be cleaned and it was not

They advertise breakfast which is also not trueOver all this was a waste of money and truly put a huge frustration on our tripIf you’re looking for a place to stay that cares They simply do notAdvise to anyone looking Don’t waste your time or money here It’s absolutely unnerving how rude they are!

Molly Anderson

I had a wonderful stay Ireland and Amy were so kind and knowledgeable of the area and they both made this stay excellent! The room was beautiful, comfortable, quiet, and clean – keep up the great work! I will definitely be staying here if I’m back in the area!

Ok so where do I begin? Room window was left open so room was freezing when I arrived, Dusty so it’s terrible for those of us with allergies (It had me wheezy and sneezy all night EVEN on meds!) heater in room didn’t work, horrible parking experience, carpet in hotel smells old!!!! To say that this is a “4” star hotel, The hotel stay was a horrible horrible horrible experience! Will NOT recommend! Ever! I left sick after a 1 night stay! HORRIBLE

J. B.

Very interesting place Consider this before you go, examine architecture carefully before booking I liked the vibe and each corridor had something fascinating (because it appealed to me)

Don’t expect natural light filled areas and brightly colored walls Expect something rustic & more of a Your Grandfather’s Man Cave vibe Worked for me! See pics of the room, bathroom, & corner table Great service by the way from valet to front desk I took some time to explore, although the place was a little dead (covid, duh), it was fun Like I said, INTERESTING place for sure Go see

Jerod Beeson

The staff here REALLY know how to WOW with hospitality and competence! Stayed for my wife’s birthday, and from check-in to check-out, the folks at the front desk were extremely generous for her birthday, as well as helpful (going above and beyond) every time we had a question about the area or needed something The hotel is taking covid precautions very seriously and implementing smart and effective solutions to keep their guests safe Not to mention that the hotel was as beautiful as it was comfortable

Would give more stars if possible! We’ll definitely be back when in Portland again! Thanks guys!

Me and my friend went to this place last weekend and we had a wonderful experience staying here recommended by my friend’s mom We first get here and we were greeted by the associate and he helped us get our bags out and asked if we wanted to do the valet parking He even held the door open for us

He was wonderful for our 2 night stay and even remember us when we came back to the hotel several times The desk employee was also wonderful Elegant looking inside the place Wonderful stay! I will stay here again if I come to Portland again

Shirlene Kwan

I love the location because it’s central to everything but like many cities, there is a trickle of homeless population The staff is amazing and friendly The rooms are clean

Includes shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in large bottles (not the tiny one-use ones) which I’m grateful for Makeup remover and body lotion is also available Housekeeping is every other day We got here early morning and was able to check-in This is a small boutique hotel

Morticia Love Mansfield

We had an amazing stay and the staff really showed an incredible standard of customer serviceWe were traveling with an elderly disabled family member so they switched our room so that we would be in a room designated for disabilities, which made it easier for my mother to bathe They provided a shower chair for our room and had a wheelchair she was able to use so that she could enjoy the city and enjoy it she did

I would recommend their establishment a million times over Way to kill it guys!

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any hotel They compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is the best rated in this area

I’ve been staying here for a very long time If you decide to stay here you for sure won’t be disappointedWe had an early flight into Portland and called the hotel when I landed (like they told me to when I called earlier in the week) and they put us in a room that was ready when we arrived at 10am! Super helpful staff Clean and definitely worth the cost

Wayne Beaumier

I’ve been to the Monarch a few times now for a yearly convention and I always enjoy myself The rooms and halls are still somewhat dated and older but that never bothers me The pool area has been built up and is great to relax at

Both the indoor and outdoor restaurant is delicious, while the underground themed area is fun and different The staff is always courteous, kind, and easy to get ahold of They do an excellent job of taking care of the convention goers before, during, and after the event Cannot wait to come back next year

Anne Pettus

I’ve stayed here in the past and had a great experience But that was 5 years ago This time was awful

We needed a place to stay while we were selling our house and had our open house The first night, the keys didn’t work to the first room they gave us, so they gave us another room This room was on the first floor and was very dirty The sink had grime all around it, the shower head was falling out, there was black hair in the tub and I’m pretty sure it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time House keeping only comes if you call and request and they do bare minimum, they didn’t even change our sheets even though I had requested that Oh and the whole first floor reeked of pot the whole time We booked three nights and only stayed two Avoid this hotel if staying in the area Go to the Marriott down the road It’s worth the extra money!!

Very friendly and attentive staff There is a bar and the option to buy snacks in the lobby, in addition to a full menu available for room service or diningThe rooms were nice and spacious but lacked closet space (there is no dresser just a couple of pull out shelves)

The hotel is near plenty of restaurants (within a 5 minute drive)

for nearly $300 tonight, and making breakfast something you pay for as part of a package, ridiculous! When we booked the hotel-one of the reasons we booked it was for a free breakfast, and to come to find out there was no breakfast included in our night stay, I was very disappointed and shocked by the amount of money we paid to not have a complementary Metairie breakfast included it’s just mind boggling to me The staff member, who is quite rude, stopped us at the entrance of the complementary breakfast station, and said we had to pay for it as part of a package I would think paying $285 for one night should very much include a complementary breakfast for a five-year-old and an 11 year old with their dad

I will not stay there again!

Consuelo Enriquez

I will always be grateful for the staff I met here that have be came lifelong friends I stayed here 169 days for work I enjoyed everyday I was there

My first hostel hotel experience and it was surprisingly pleasant! The rooftop was beautiful and cold The lobby was comfy and warm The drinks were all amazing

I tried different local wines, had some tea, and grabbed a cup of coffee the morning before my departure It was all short, sweet, and comfortable I’ll be visiting Portland more and hope to get a room there again Definitely 10/10

Niusha Tajvidi

I would go back and visit Portland just to stay at this hotel! The staff here are beyond incredible Upon arrival I had a lot of anxiety as I was a first time solo traveller and everyone there made me feel so safe Everyone there genuinely cares about you and your safety

The hotel offers an escort system if you feel unsafe at a location and you can even text the staff at anytime which was super helpful I stayed at a single room which meant I had to share a bathroom and I had some reservations about it before visiting but it exceeded all my expectations! The room and bathroom was honestly cleaner than at any hotel I have stayed at The cafe/restaurant in the lobby had amazing food (I had a chocolate chip cookie from there every single day because honestly it was the best) There’s also amazing views from the beautiful rooftop patio I VERY HIGHLY recommend staying here!

Michelle Rodriguez

Gosh what a unique hostel/hotel I loved staying here They have a big, coed hostel room with comfortable, ship-berthing-inspired bunks

They have privacy curtains which I loved The hotel also has private rooms but I didn’t stay in oneI loved the common cafe area The hours are long and there are always people taking advantage of the spaceThe only thing I can say negatively about this was the location being swamped by homeless people I have compassion for them but there’s a lot of unaddressed mental health issues and it made me feel unsafe leaving at night The doors to the cafe/hotel required being buzzed in or using your room key so that was coolOverall, I would stay here again This is the nicest hostel I’ve been in

Swanky, friendly and high-level! I couldn’t have asked for a better hotel to stay in with my young daughter Right away, there is valet parking which made it easy! You walk in and the decor is very fresh and modern This hotel was renovated/built in 2020 so everything is so fresh and new

The beds and rooms are so comfortable and the views can’t be beat When I walked down to breakfast, I was expecting cereal and stale waffles BUT NO! Amazingly fresh artisan breakfasts with fresh squeezed grapefruit and orange juice You can tell this hotel takes great pride in what they do and have tried to make it a new experience Don’t hesitate to book! I will be back

sushant maheshwari

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night Being an above average traveler, I have traveled many Hyatt properties and this one is average in terms of servicePlus points:1

location is good, walkable to nearby pubs bars but everything closes around 9 so you will have a hard time2 Room ambience is good although few people might find the space to be on the cozier sideNegative points:1 Service was very slow in the morning especially with their restaurant staff, had to wait for over 10minutes after I was seated to have my order placed2 Limited choices in the menu, especially being a vegetarian most of choices were automatically eliminated I wish there were a bit flexible like other properties for their vegan/vegetarian customers

After checking out, there was a charge in my bank account of a couple hundred dollars I called the hotel and asked why I was being charged and they said it was because there was an ironing board, iron, and pillow missing from the room They accused me of stealing the items and had footage of me and my husband checking into the hotel but conveniently “couldn’t find the footage of us checking out”

There’s no way I could fit an ironing board in my over night bag along with an iron and pillow I called the hotel manager and explained the situation and they only agreed to give me $50 back If you don’t want to get accused of stealing, I would find another hotel to stay at

Pros : Absolutely Fantastic location in central downtown Portland just a few minutes away from Powell’s Bookstore The rooms were very quiet once the window was closed and they even had blackout curtains The shower was great

Was able to secure a room with two double beds that were very comfortable and clean The room had a safe and nice bathrobes There was also a TV and the staff were only a text away Did not stay long enough to access the gym facilities The staff are very hands-off which is nice for me Free coffee and pastries at breakfast and your choice of local craft alcohol on checking inCons : No cleaning service until requested or you reach a 3rd day, no insuite mini bar just an empty fridge Can’t order room service as the restaurant and bar on site seems to be closed long-term instead, you have to order from a restaurant online that requires inputting of all your information again and was quite expensive Since the hotel was so central you were spoiled for choice in regards to food options outside the hotel so that wasnt a big deal for us Also no extra movies or things you could order on the tv if you were in the mood for that They charge a resort feeAll in all my complaints are pretty small and the hotel was at a good price point and so centrally located I would 100 percent stay there when I’m in Portland next If you are bombing around town all day it’s a perfect base camp for your adventures

We stayed at the Dossier because Travelportlandcom recommended it (in a recently updated article from Oct 2021) as a place that was dog-friendly with no pet fees that even had special amenities for dogs (bed, bowls, treats, and a “spiritual menu” we were dubious of and intrigued at the same time) The only box it ticked was the first one

We weren’t offered so much as a MilkBone for our pup, and when I saw the itemized receipt in my email, there was a $25 pet fee included in the bill It’s a nice place and we had no issues with the staff, but were disappointed from our expectations We had thought we’d be getting something extra special or we’d have opted to pay half as much to stay at Holiday Inn or something Maybe they need to talk to TravelPortlandcom about getting their info straight if they don’t want other guests to feel shorted

I arrived for a conference and the woman who checked me in was so quick, nice and professional I was able to check in early which I was not expecting Our lunch during our conference was great and the server had great customer service

The three men that helped me with valet were so friendly and quick I loved my room, it was very clean and comfortable I wish the shower had more pressure but everything else made up for it Check out was quick and easy and the manager was training two new hires with such patience As a manager in the hotel industry I was very happy with my stay and the entire staff The housekeepers I saw in the hallway were so friendly also Would highly recommend

Wow, what an A+++ experience It’s rare that you walk into a hotel and feel SO genuinely welcomed by its representatives I was immediately greeted by Ava who provided an amazing customer experience at check-in — she was personable, precise, and kind

She was so savvy that she immediately tied my reservation to me based on some clothing indicators and took initiative to greet me by name before I even got to the desk! This hotel’s amenities, rooms, and location were all top-notch, but the people that work there were what really separated it from the many other Portland hotels I’ve stayed in The bartender RJ was fantastic as well Ava and team made the stay feel incredibly comfortable Just re-booked 2 nights for this week!

Tiny rooms but well maintained No water in room unless you ask for & nothing in room refrigerator food (they did mention at check-in though) and no dining option at all COVID really changed many businesses operating mechanism it seems so

Mini gym in basement, and a daily wine tasting experience at 5PM which I never managed to get a time slot in my calendar A good place to stay, but lot of scope to improve

We stayed this last week and had an amazing experience The kindness and overall service received from the employees was phenomenal We felt very welcomed and accommodated

It is a beautiful hotel that is clean and well maintained It is located in a nice area with numerous parking garages surrounding the area The only complaints would be that the pool was unexpectedly closed during our stay, and the in room fridge was not working properly I’d definitely stay again!

Anna Berntsen

Beautiful rooms that feature floor to ceiling windows, a mini fridge, and glass shower doors It was very nice that they welcomed me back once they had seen that a was a returning customer It was also great to see that they checked in by text to see hiw my stay was going

The downside was that it was a little dusty and the windows with the amazing view still had the fingerprints of young children However, I don’t blame them for wanting to get as close as possible to that amazing view They did come and bring some new linens upon asking for maid service Great little spot with a fantastic view

Note that I use hotel points to check out this placeThe hotel is really well styled The pool is fancy and kid friendly

The patio provides a cool sunken vibe where you’re safe from the street noise while you admire towering skyscrapersThe location is close to the waterfront But I recommend coming here as a romantic valentine’s day or celebrate an anniversaryAt the time the steam room was out of order But if the sauna, steam room, and pool are all open I would make an effort annually to come here as a local to have a spa retreat from my regular Portland work week

This place was fantastic I like to stay at more independent hotels and we picked this place because of the great reviews I see why the reviews were so great; this hotel pays attention to the details! The complimentary breakfast was incredible with a different menu every day

The hotel room was spacious and even had a leather couch The indoor pool and hot tub were also great They even had cookies every night in the grand lobby which was a nice touch I would highly recommend this place!

Daisy Maya

The grand has a beautiful grand entrance and just steps inside is a large living room area With several small intimate seating areas to sit and visit They have complimentary coffee bar as well

The rooms are spacious and well appointed My room had a king bed, couch and desk Many plug-ins and electronics plug ins too The bathroom was big and nicely done with wall paper and granite counter tops The shower was stand alone and a bit tight fit, but the shower head was a rain one and I loved that I am not much of a bath person The tub was very shallow and average length So if you wanted a soak, I think you would be disappointed For a quick bath with kiddos it would be perfect The bathroom floor tile had pops of fancy pretty tiles to break up the plain tile I loved the pops of color and design In room coffee maker did not use plastic cups, loved that!!!! I try hard to avoid plastic My room also had mini refrigerator and cabinet with drawers, suitcase rack and hair dryer Being so close to the highway was not a problem, well insulated from the noise of the highway Walking distance to Bridgeport Mall and all it has to offer The only down side to my room was the view out the window There was a roof and then a 2 foot strip of surface that had vents and such All the black and green moss and such was not pretty to look at, personally I would definitely stay here again

Ben C

We recently used there meeting room to hold my moms memorial It went off without a hitch Communication with Erica was fantastic

The front desk staff were very accommodating when we needed any extra things as well We were even able to get into the room a day early to set things up and not be rushed the morning of the celebration They were able to reconfigure the room as our rsvp list was over 60 people My mom was there in spirit and I know she would have loved the celebration for her Thank you grand hotel staff

Stayed here for two nights The rooms are very clean and nice and at the perfect temperature, with very comfortable beds and a huge tv, and the hotel itself is very nice The city view from my room was great

The staff at the front desk and the restaurant are kind and helpful The restaurant has good food; i think it would be great for people who come with friends (they had a delicious sounding lineup of beers and wines!) But i was here with my kid as a stop on our trip and it was hard to find a casual atmosphere aroundbut for me what is really important in a hotel is that it looks and smells totally clean so this hotel lived up to that My kid loved the swimming pool 🙂

Excellent stay! Having the attached self parking garage with a great rate that included parking was extremely convenient and a big deal for us! Good location Room was nicely appointed, clean, and had a really good view of the city from the 19th floor The bed was so comfortable

Friendly staff as well They have a nice indoor pool, although did not have the time to use it I would definitely stay here again and can recommend it to anyone!

Excellent upscale hotel I had a one-night stay, and had a chance to enjoy the facilities in and out One note/room for improvement would be added levels of security – for example, I was a bit surprised to see the elevators were operating without needing for a room key – something that’s quite standard for upscale/high rise hotels

Also, the hours for the gym could be clearly indicated — was told by 11PM by hotel front, but were told otherwise by gym staff that it was actually 10PM
