Great hotel in a perfect location! It was our first time in the northeast and everyone there was very welcoming Breakfast was great (waiter was a bit slow but we weren’t in a hurry anyway), pool was small but just what we needed, front desk staff also had great recommendations for spots to eat and check out Would 100% recommend and will stay again if in the area

Don’t bother coming in unless you’re from a privileged walk of life Made a reservation 6 weeks before we were there and told we could only sit on the porch if we came at 5 pm Arrived at 4:50 pm to an empty restaurant

We were seated in the back When I said I requested outside seating and that is why we are there at 5 pm the hostess told me they can’t accommodate a party our size (9) on the porch and if I want a view sit on the side of the table where you can see outside Was annoyed but had our dinner We spent over 700 dollars on sub par food When we went to the lawn to enjoy a drink after dinner I noticed that there was a party of 10 who had just arrived and was seated on the porch 2 hours after our arrival When I went to the bathroom I mentioned something to the hostess who called over the manager I said I wanted to provide feedback if they could give me the information for the food and beverage manager The manager of the evening spoke down to me and was extremely rude cutting me off several times saying the party on the porch were customers for over 20 years It is very clear unless you’re a regular you are not valued and you should take your business elsewhere When those customers of 20 years no longer are around they’ll most likely have no more new customers

Justin Burilson

Best hotel and restaurant on the east coast! No really, the staff is just absolutely wonderful and the food is top notch Only thing I wish they did was get more creative with the menu, but for an everday person, the menu is great, with lots of options to choose from 10/10 view (best at sunset) and the whole experience is so charming

In advance I have to say that this stay cost about US$ 600 per night On our vacation to New England my wife and I visited beautiful Portland, Maine and were really looking forward to staying at the AC Hotel by Marriott Downtown Waterfront The hotel is nicely situated at the port in the middle of a newly developing living and working quarter

The design is modern and of seemingly high quality but unfortunately that’s where the niceties have to end Upon arrival we dropped off our car and proceeded to check-in The welcome was businesslike and we should have been suspicious when we were asked if we would like our room cleaned The only other information freely offered was that they have a happy hour Nobody offered to show us our room or to help us with our luggage even though it was obvious that I am disabled and walking with a crutch Upon entering the room the first thing we noticed was that the bed was all crumpled with hair on the pillows and sheets and that the shower was dirty We decided to take a small walk before unpacking, told the employee at the reception about the dirt and went our way When we returned the bed was freshly made and the shower cleaned Unfortunately they only took care of the affore mentioned points and didn’t give the room a once over because when we wanted to put our stuff in the wardrobe we noticed a layer of dust accumulated in at least a couple of weeks of not cleaning I used a small towel to clean the wardrobe and the previously white towel ended up being beige – yummy! At breakfast many glasses were covered in greasy fingerprints, most cups weren’t really clean and crumbs lay on the table When people were finished with their breakfast the employee shook out the place mat on the floor and that was that The buffet itself was small haphazardly put together with open cardboard boxes left in the corner and they actually didn’t even serve cappuccino I could carry on describing even more problems (not refilling shower gel, no free face masks, stains everywhere, loudly humming minibar) but I think everyone got the pictureIn addition it’s one of these hotels where the designers thought it would be nice to place the bathroom in the middle of the room Looks great but even though I’m married for more than 15 years I appreciate a real door when using the toilet to have some privacy but that’s more or less a personal thingThe whole place propagated a feeling of negligence and disinterest even though this hotel could be a real gem if managed better I can imagine that they encounter problems finding employees due to COVID but I’m not prepared to pay 600 US$ per night for this kind of non-service At least they should have lowered the rates Next time we’ll stay somewhere else!

Lisete McDonough

It was nice and clean, convenient walk to places The downfall was the actual rooms and the layout The bathroom has a sliding door with no seal and no privacy

I had to leave the room anytime my husband had to use the bathroom because there was no bathroom privacy at all Bathroom noises echoed through the room and the sink is outside of the bathroom, and that was odd to us

The property is centrally located Easy to drive or walk into Portland or nearby dining options Plenty of free parking on-site

The breakfast has a good selection of the conventional stuff – waffles, cupcakes, bagels, muffins, cereal, boiled eggs, etc Hot beverages and cold water are available 24/7, which is a huge positiveGiven COVID-19 protocols, turn down service is only for guests who stay longer than five days However, you can always get fresh towels and linen Trash just needs to be kept out in the corridor and get new bags from the front desk/housekeeping cartThe rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfortable, the pillows not so much The also gave us a pretty good crib and our 11-month old slept well It is an old property but maintained well There was good water pressure in the shower The toiletries are also good and Made in USAThe staff are prompt and courteous

Stephanie Chase

Conveniently located near the center of town, which was handy since we were going to a show at the State Theater The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean I do have complaints thoughThe bathroom in the room was clean overall, other than the hair monster in the shower drain

Beds are a bit too solid The pillows were the worst I’ve ever used my entire life They kept getting really flat Even scrunching them up with my arms didn’t help They sounded like they had popped bubble wrap in them The continental breakfast had good choices for older people Need to have more options that appeal to teens and children, like pancakes, waffles, french toast, bacon, scrambled eggs Variety was pretty good otherwise Fitness center is nice as are the lobby and patio area Staff was helpful and friendly

Keith Lowe

They do not clean room’s daily and you have to leave trash and dirty towels in the hallway Rooms where clean, staff friendly and it is located within walking distance to the Seadogs ball park and to adult use dispensaries Denny’s is also within walking distance

Not a picturesque place but I was there for work I never got to try breakfast because we left before 6 am and breakfast wasn’t served till 6:30 Worth the price in my opinion

Great hotel, even better staff and owners It has a nice indoor pool and is down the strip a ways which makes it more quiet and good for families/relaxing The staff takes awesome care of the rooms, and everything seems to be freshly updated

Doesn’t have all the frills in the world but it is exactly what we needed for a relaxing weekend

Jen Carlow

The rooms are quite basic, the beds we had pulled out from the wall and were very very hard and uncomfy Slightly datedrooms are across the street from parking lot

Had a coffee maker in room People were nice, the best location! Affordable The pool looks really nice however didn’t get to use Overall a good Affordable stay but I would bring a mattress topper and your own pillows

Leslie Snow

Was pleasantly surprised to see how close we were to the beach! The room was very clean and comfortable A few things that might need a mention The pots and pans were in rough shape and need to be replaced

A set of oven mitts for the kitchen would be good The only thing that was a negative is the bright walk lights right outside our room Maybe light blocking curtains is a good idea We loved our stay there The pool was clean and the staff wonderful Will definitely be back this fall Had a great stay

Awesome inn and staff, clean, professional, short boardwalk to awesome beach, Dog friendly, we keep going back every year Could not get the room we wanted as everything was booked, so accepted the corner suite we were not sure if we would like it, as it overlooks the parking lot and a field Found it to be a super nice room, it was easy to get loaded/unloaded and coming/going as there was a door right outside, nice soaking tub, and a great value

Didn’t mind not having the ocean view as it was only 20 steps around the building to see the ocean anyway, got room service from the Sea Glass, multiple times, was good each time

Michael Shorstein

One the nicest 4 star resorts, by far (not all 4 stars are equal)! We will be back The 1 bedroom suites are wonderful – facing the ocean Ground floor is special because of the large patio facing the ocean although there was some noise from the upstairs guests walking

The accommodations and use of space displayed a touch of elegance with a desire to fulfill all the needs of a long-term visitor (his and her closets, TV chairs, and plentiful drawers in the bedroom) The space is expertly configured with no waisted areaOutside the large bedroom is a living room (separated by a heavy wood pocket door) which contains a fireplace surrounded by a small sofa and 2 comfy chairs The living room area also has a dining room table that seats 4 and a small kitchen with a coffee maker, full refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, sink, and dishes A counter separates the kitchen and the dining room tableThe room looks far bigger because the picture windows overlook the ocean and a welcoming front porch that includes a sofa and chairs for outdoor relaxation

Julia Chaney

We had our elopement wedding here and it was absolute perfection Inn by the Sea was a beyond gorgeous place to be married Kathleen who helped us was so kind and helpful

She checked in with us periodically, and answered any and all questionsIf our wedding didn’t earn them 5 stars The room alone would have We had the loft suite Amazingly spacious, clean and had everything you could want Cannot wait to spend a future anniversary here

I recently spent two nights at the Docent’s Collection in Portland and was so impressed with the ease of check in, check out, and the stylish and peaceful accommodations The rooms were decorated beautifully with such an eye for minimalist design and openness The beds were superbly comfortable and the bathroom was open, well-lit and sparkling white

All of this is great, but the location was also wonderful Located close to Old Port neighborhood and all the old, must-see touristy restaurants on the piers and also very walkable Centrally located to some great little bars, coffee shops and ice cream shops too Truly something for everyone! The only thing that made the stay a challenge was finding the parking garage Portland as a whole seems to (at least on summer weekends!) have a busy parking situation – and parking is pricey But once we found the garage, it was smooth sailing!I highly recommend choosing the Docents Collection over a big hotel The custom details, friendly and helpful staff, and boutique style accommodations are so worth it

Andrew Lim

We really enjoyed our stay at 121 and would definitely come back when we are next in PortlandThe pros are: great location, very nice room/apartment with a lot of kitchen equipment for cooking and good service from the managementTwo minor points: it would be good for them to figure out bag storage

Maybe strike a deal with a local hotel (?) the other is to have larger glasses and tea cups (see, I said they were minor points)

We stayed here June ‘22 I booked direct 5 nights @$455 +taxes- high but I wanted the kitchen & location We arrived 6PM Sat

Later found it on booking for $300 a night All automated Apps open building & apt doors We settled & were pleased with decor, then noticed the parking lot view Big bummer Then we slept; a most terrible sleep I’d reserved a king bed but this was noticeably smaller & very indented My back was in pain after a nights sleep trying to climb out of the indentations It was Sunday & there’s no front desk, so we stripped & flipped the mattress ourselves ($455 a night) We figured we were fine until business hrs Monday Then I received a text Sunday at 10:24AM to “Please take a moment to let us know about your first nights experience” I responded:Beautiful space but my thoughts/1st impressions1 View is the back of parking lot/Brick wall Why not disclose prior?2Windows double sealed shut Why not disclose prior?3Window shades dont sufficiently block sun on sides, need drapes or wider shades4 Bathroom has sliding barn door that doesnt seal + minimal fabrics to absorb sounds- loud unfortunate echos throughout apt from bathroom5 TV only streams Husband is a tech guy & it took an hour Needed our home cable account to stream channels6The biggest issue was indented bed & its not a true King but a “hotel king” (plz Google) why not disclosed?I received a text 2 hrs later from ‘Avery’ He replied- windows are sealed for safety (?) & apologized for the indented bed; he could send maintenance on Monday- the response we were hoping Then wrote “Id like to learn more about your other concerns & how we can best communicate to our future guests” He ended “It is always our goal to exceed your expectations & provide you with great service If you feel your Urban Home is not the best suited for your visit & you’d like to leave, I can refund the remainder of your stay”To revert immediately to refunding monies is not how to address concerns about a guests stay especially one we planned out & spent $2500 on We were on a jammed vacation, & his job is hospitality – not for us to leave early? Monday at 9:15AM, typical ‘business hours’, I rang the office, hoping to speak to a more seasoned hospitality employee Instead we got voicemail – twice So I texted the number & asked when are business hours, & Avery responded “Good morning, Our team is currently preparing for other guests, but I will try to call a little bit later around 10:30am” I responded, “this is unacceptable, we are current guests & have patiently waited 48hrs to address our issue of an ill suited & small mattress We also have tickets for an excursion at 10am This is impeding heavily on our little & expensive vacation” Avery called me highly emotional Heavy breathing & a very high pitch voiceHe said I had written “lots of complaints”- you mean the survey you sent me on my 1st impressions? Within 5 minutes, Avery threatened to cut off our automatic keys to front door & apartment & told us to “vacate the premises by 11am” I’ve never been treated so emotionally & in such a volatile way from a “hospitality” host He also said they use “Hotel King Mattresses” Apparently cheaper run places do this 4 inches narrower than Kings & made by Serta- A big detail not disclosed Most importantly, the conversation with Avery was unprofessional, he seemed emotionally unstable His response didn’t fit the task at hand As a therapist I knew this didnt have to do with us, but it was ruining our vacation I repeatedly said the manner he was speaking was unacceptable, “please take a deep breathe & tone down the emotion” I asked to speak to someone else, he responded “there are only 3 people who work here” Stunning Avery then hung up on me Ultimately we got our money back, but we had to cancel plans, repack & find a hotel*Note from Docents- “Guests at 121 MIDDLE an urban inn receive optimal care from a well-trained staff Whatever it Takes to ensure your needs are met during these times” sadly this was the opposite what we received

Our weekend stay at the Press Hotel could not have been better Our daughter decided to elope and we had to scramble to make arrangements EVERY

SINGLE INTERACTION we had with the staff was TOP NOTCH! The valet service was prompt, courteous, and helpful The front desk was amazing at check in (upgrading my daughters room, adding flowers, and sparkling wine!) and were welcoming and added so much to our celebratory mood The bartender overheard they were getting married and opened a bottle of champagne for a toast Our server for dinner was also fast, efficient, and very friendly The attendants at the coffee bar in the morning were courteous, helpful, and happy! Not to mention, we had reserved a bunch of rooms for later in the year, but when plans changed, we had to cancel Trish was so helpful and understandingand patientI honestly have not experienced this level of customer service in a long time! Our stay was amazing!!

Incredible hotel Perfect location The history of the old Portland Press Herald is felt throughout the property

From the valet to the front desk to the restaurant staff – first-rate hospitality Professional and friendly yet not stiff and cookie-cutter The place has personality and charm UNION restaurant is a must Great cocktails The duck and octopus were superb as was the Lobster Benedict for breakfast Abbie – thanks for the great service! Clean rooms with a contemporary feel Comfortable bedding that smelled like fine detergent rather than the over-bleached smell you often get in hotels Portland is such a cool town – this spot is a great place to hang your hat and relax while on your stay

Zoe Varricchio

I couldn’t have been happier with our recent stay at the Press Hotel We booked the Penthouse Suite for our wedding weekend – it was breathtaking The spacious room was perfect for gathering friends and family for celebrations

The hotel is in a perfect location to walk the cityEvery member of the hotel staff I encountered (from the valets to guest services staff and bartenders) was incredibly helpful, accomodating, and friendly We will definitely be returning to visit The Press Hotel again soon!

Beautiful place The staff was great There was a new worker, so we just gave her grace

We had ordered salads at the pool bar & they weren’t what was advertised It was a farmer’s vegetable salad, so we expected a variety of vegetables, but it was standard lettuce & cherry tomatoes No dressing was provided She then gave us mayonnaise, and we told her it wasn’t dressing Then when she brought dressing, it was the wrong kind No big deal just wasn’t great due to our group’s timing The next morning, my friend’s eggs weren’t cooked well & my breakfast potatoes were cold They swapped them out, but it threw our timing off again Thankfully, we had our dinner meal elsewhere The location and cleanliness of the room made up for it The accommodations were beyond 5 star We’d definitely go back & maybe cook our own food or seek out the other restaurants for our meals

Regina Macharia

The room was spacious, the bathroom was the best feature Stayed here this past weekend with my 2 boys and husband Loved exploring the area

ISSUES: Non-dairy powder creamer in the rooms, why?? 1 This is unhealthy and cheap! Non-dairy cream does not exist in nature! give customers a choice, put some REAL cream for $500 /night 2 All coffee options are dark roast, even the coffee in the lobby was bitter(choices🤷‍♀️) 3 No house sleepers or robes , after 4 showers, the bathroom is misty with slippery floors 4 No full length mirror 5 No windows so you cant see outside

Delphine Gueren

We loved it Stayed at the inn for 4 nights It is so nice to stay on an island

The staff was very friendly and helpful The pool and hot tub were really nice Our room was awesome for the 3 of us Our 13 year old son loved the arcade with the bowling and pool table We loved exploring the island and we most of all enjoyed the quiet We were prepared for the lack of food service but they had a nice breakfast sandwich and great barbecue on Monday night We loved it Definitely worth it

Absolutely amazing staff – the receptionist was very friendly, the restaurant staff was FANTASTIC – drinks were yummy and the food was scrumptious! Thank you guys!!!The room was very good size, however the bed isn’t anything special Goose Down comforter without a duvet

YUCK! The room was cold the bathroom had some hairs laying around that were definitely not ours 😅🤣😂 We couldn’t fall asleep for a solid hour, because there were some noises coming from unknown sourcesThe breakfast was good and satisfying

Jake

This is a solid downtown Portland/Old Port hotel, especially in the off-season It’s still a great location in the summer, but I’m sure noisier with some of the rooms facing Fore Street To their credit, my room came with a noise machine which goes a long way in my experience

I was on the 4th floor facing Fore Street It wasn’t really an ocean view so much as the ocean was in that direction, but the height put me above most nearby office windows so I could lay in bed in the morning, next to the big window, and watch the seagulls fly around the historical buildings The room had a nice set-up with a couch for hanging if you had anyone over Also, a mini-fridge, at a hotel in the Old Port! Give me a fridge over a mini-bar any day of the week so I can keep my own leftovers and beer stash instead of paying $10 for a waterIt’s not a brand new hotel My room (422) had one or two stains on the carpet and the shower could use a once over for the mildew that gets in between tiles, but otherwise was clean – certainly no bugs or anythingReally nice staff all around I’m actually local but my girlfriend and I plan on staying here in the off-season next year just for a mid-week break Not a bad place to stay at all, especially if you can get a deal relative to the new, expensive hotels on Commercial

Excellent view of Portland Harbor from the “King Bed Balcony Peaks Island View” (see pics) Room was very clean Friendly staff

Solid breakfast (scramble eggs, home fries, yogurt parfait, French toast sticks, sausage, bagels & juices)Glad the option for all day parking in the garage next door is offered for $30 a nightThis is a good value for parking in this downtown area Other parking lots/structures in this area charge $8 an hourMy one request is for the hotel to power wash the Seagull poop off the building on the other side of the balconies on the 7th FL maybe once a week (see last picture, didn’t crop it out of this pic, so you know what I’m talking about)I know this is a hotel in a harbor town, but, this is my one constructive criticismBesides that everything was wonderful and I would definitely stay here again

I was up through the night either freezing or hotI went to the night clerk and told him what was up with the a/c, his answer to me when the room gets too cold the heat kicks on ??? ( this was a thermostat issue)The stove top in the kitchen was filthy, dirty dishes in the dish washer, the white coverlet I noticed in twas discolored with a yellow castI was there for one night and arrived around 8 pm went to dinner and came back to room around 10 pm

I didn’t notice the kitchen and stained coverlet till morningThe breakfast was lacking would have been nice if they served bacon or sausageI paid $27000 for a lousy night stay

I am a traveling nurse During my stays, the hotel was clean and quiet I love the little kitchen

It is well stocked with kitchen items you need They even have a hot plate you can use The bed is comfortable I check in and out online and use the digital key so have not dealt with the front desk staff so I won’t comment on that One weekend I forgot my sound machine (I work nights) It’s so quiet, I didn’t miss the white noise at all I highly recommend this home away from home to my fellow traveling nurses! I won’t stay anywhere else

Randy K

Everything was clean Room was modern and had everything I would need for my stay Breakfast was typical for this chain, workout room had enough for a light workout

Has laundry machines on site but I did not need to use on this stay Staff was friendly I only needed to stay one night before my return flight home Please read all reviews and evaluate

Horrible experience in my life ever I booked too queen rooms with the kitchen I am traveling with 3 kids and my wife

I woke up at 1 am in the morning with some itching in legs and my back First I thought it was mosquito bites but the itching got worse and I checked to make sure if there were bed bugs I looked online to verify and sure it was bed bugs and there were quite a few under the mattrees I called the front desk immediately and she says first we can offer new clean sheets and declines to give me another room and tells me they are all booked We had to call several times and the housekeeper guy comes in to the room He took some pics too I am terrified cause this is my first experience with bed bugs and I have 3 kids and I was very worried Finally they did switch me to another room but me and my wife could not sleep all night I have bites all over in my torso, legs , forehead I still have itching and bites The night staff told that there was no manager on duty and he will come in 10 am We wait until 10 am and the morning receptionist tells us that she is not sure when he is coming? What a joke, how can a manager be not called even at night in this situation? So she gave us his number and would promise that he would call us on Monday but never go a call back I am health care professional and i should report to to the health department Such a horrified experience and dirty place that no one should stay here The housekeeping guy who cleaned the room at night time with bed bugs is serving breakfast in the morning too?

A perfect hotel! I had to stay overnight due to a blizzard The hotel was amazing, making sure my room was awesome, and the billing was handled properly They had plows working through the night to clear the lot, but they never disturbed my sleep

Hotel was so clean! And everyone I interacted with was beyond friendly The free breakfast was also pretty good, they had many options to choose from The suite itself comes with all the kitchen things you might need for an extended stay

Homer Hunter

My family and I have only ever stayed at Residence Inn hotels because of its One/Two bedroom Suite option This was by far the WORST one we have ever occupied This is our first vacation in two years and we have a room that smells like pet urine

The bed is insanely hard and our room is right next to the basketball court so imagine trying to relax in the evening and constantly hearing the bounce of that d*** ball from about 6:30 to a little after 8!! I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone Wish I just paid the additional $400 and stayed downtown For what they are asking, SO not worth it and definitely not three stars Won’t complain about the lack of breakfast options because I am assuming they are keeping in light and prepackaged with a COVID mindset I did like the gym (used the treadmill and weights) The pool is closed with no opening date but again believe that is a COVID precaution

Jay Gordon

This hotel was a bit of a disappointment I stay at Marriott properties often so I am pickier than most First, the pool was closed

After investigating, there was small print in the App stating this but it was buried This was disappointing The rooms are locked at 68 degrees for the AC so the room was not cooled all the way Our room did not have a TV remote so we had to unplug it We will look for another Marriott next time

The location of this hotel is amazing, and you’re surrounded by tons of stores and shops They accommodate you with a shuttle drive to nearby places which is very convenient and kind The front desk staff are great and the shuttle driver is super sweet

I won’t ever forget the warm cookie, or two that I normally get when I’m here A great hotel stay Comfortable room and bed

Adam Lamontagne

I’ve never actually stayed at this hotel However, there’s a convention that’s held here every year that I attend/volunteer for and I don’t know man, I think we gotta give some serious props to this place for always being a fantastic venue The ground floor is very efficiently set up and easy to get around

And there’s a bit of a restaurant near the center of it that I always enjoy getting a burger from every year

Lisa H20s

Accommodations were top notchstaff top notch!!! dine in restaurant was awful!!!! Do not order the fish n chips

absolutely a frozen product we serve the same exact product at the chain restaurant I manage howeverfor $20 a plate they should be ashamed you can’t just slap it on some “newspaper” and send it out with prepackaged tartar sauce call it fish n chips however the staff was incredible considering they were short staffed and overwhelmed they made a special meal for our child that wasn’t on the menu (grilled cheese) definitely go backbut definitely eat elsewhere

The positives about this Hampton Inn is that the rooms were large, clean, and the beds were comfortable It stopped there I reserved a handicap accessible room with a tub as I was traveling with a disabled adult

The room was large as they always are, but the room was full of flaws The refrigerator did not work The sliding barn door to the bathroom was not only heavy but screeched terribly when you tried to close it or open it I asked for a quieter room on the top floor I was given a Corner room so that the front of the room faced the main drag, the side of the room faced I- 95 Very noisy night with very little sleep The breakfast was sad It sign that it was on a Simplified breakfast We’ve been traveling for eight weeks and I’ve stayed and dozens of Hampton Inn , this breakfast by far was the worst Number one there was only half the amount of things that are normal Hampton Inn even offers, what was there was not great, there was one bagel in the bin, the selection was meager and the person that was supposed to be taken care of the breakfast was nowhere to be found The same thing cost just as much is some of the better ones we stayed in another states so I’m not sure what the difference was When we reported all of the issues with the room when we checked in the lady said OK I’ll let someone know We were never offered another room normally offered any sort of help with the door or the refrigerator Definitely not worth a stop Go down two more exits and there are dozens of hotels that while they are a little bit more expensive or a whole lot nicer than this one I’m really surprised as this looks like a newer property Like I said the beginning the hotel is beautiful but the amenities are certainly not worth the price Update: when we checked out in the morning we asked if everything we complained about the night before had been written down and it had not The morning front desk clerk said I will speak to my manager about this we stood there and nothing happened We finally just left Will be contacting corporate

Friendly staff great bed clean room very new a bit noisy pool not very inviting Breakfast ok limited covid fare coffee pretty decent tea and cocoa options Not great soundproofing but had much worse

Wish late arriving guests were more courteous but staff great parking plentiful amenities plentiful enough for comfort Would definitely stay here again

I got a room at the inn at Portland, across the street and left immediately when I saw how bad it was Went across the street to motel 6 to be told they had no vacancies before coming to Hampton sweetsThe girl at the front desk was a sweetheart and was amazing

My room was huge and spotless clean and seemed like something out of the futureBreakfast was fantastic This is going to be my new “go to” for every Portland trip 10/10 recommend

We stayed at the Inn and had a wonderful time I love the way the room was decorated and the balcony overlooking Portland harbor was the perfect spot to people watch, relax, read a book, and watch the sunset Breakfast was included, tasty, and the wait staff were all helpful

The housekeeping staff were also wonderful The location was conveniently close to the beaches and nice restaurants I would definitely come back again

Ellen Berlin

The in Is lovely It is convenient to the ferry and well situated near the busy part of the island

The rooms are very nice and comfortable, albeit spare self furnished Some have balconies overlooking the bayAnd that leads to my one big complaint It would have been really nice to sit n the balcony and watch the goings on, read a book, and the sunset But the balconies have hardly any furniture! Mine had 2 simple chairs — not even a little table to put a drink/snacks on And an ottoman to kick up my feet would have been even better It’s really should be one of the features of the room and it was a bit of a disappointmentA breakfast credit came with the room which was a nice surprise No one mentioned it to me at check in Luckily I read some of the materials in the room and I figured it out And the breakfast was very goodOverall it was fine Not exceptional For the price I expected a little more,

Kimberly Cough

Stopped by to grab a late lunch/early dinner with my family because we were starving We were sat almost immediately and the service was excellent All of the interactions I had with the staff were lovely

I had the haddock sandwich and hummus appetizer (pictured below) and both were delicious The food came out quickly, hot, and still tasted amazing

Me and my family chose to stay at this hotel for four nights Throughout our entire experience in Portland, they were able to help us greatly with our visit When checking in, the workers at the front desk gave me and my brother both a stuffed lobster for free to keep

We then also had asked for a room that showed the bay nearby We were able to get a view that showed the intersection nearby as well as the bay, which me and my brother both loved looking at without any extra cost The food downstairs was well cooked and quickly made The only downside was having to pay to eat there, but that seems to be how every hotel in that area is We also loved the location of the hotel The location is in a great place to see the mail boats, tugboats, ferry, and big container ships enter and exit the bay My overall two favorite things were how nice the cleaning people were If you were nice to them, they always made sure to treat you with respect and have a smile on their faces And my final favorite thing was how quickly the valet parking was Our family has never used valet parking before, so we were very impressed with how quickly the valet people were We never saw them just sitting around and talking once They always made sure to help us as quickly as possible and would even run to get our vehicle for us to make sure we weren’t waiting too long This hotel is truly my favorite hotel I have stayed in Most hotels do good at certain things and lack at others, but this hotel overall was amazing at everything we wanted

James Brad Gardella

Perfect location, staff was friendly Parking is not mentioned in the hotel pricing, $30 Valet Only or park on the street & pay the meter Yes, most of Portland is this way

A hotel already charging for your stay, $30 additional is something that should be mentioned The Complimentary breakfast was less than acceptable, out to breakfast!! Room itself was nice, but the gap around door let in light and all noise from hall

Paul Dudley

Drove my mom’s car from Florida to Portland, Maine nonstop As I got closer I started dialing hotels in the old port area so I could get a good meal and night of sleep After several attempts to speak with a human versus robot at other hotels Britney at the Hampton Inn was the first to answer the phone

I was driving and my nerves were shot but she was patient, kind and the friendly voice I needed at the time Upon arrival I was greeted by James, Kayla and the rest of the staff who made my couple of nights there one of the best getaways I’ve had in years, I did not want to go home Great location, reasonable prices, beautiful rooms, amazing team members and free breakfast I have reservations to go back later this month I can’t wait!
