We did a celebrating life weekend The check-in and check-out were smooth The rooms were nice, 1 king and 1 double

The only thing that made my skin crawl was the amount of random hair throughout the room, especially the bathroom I packed my own cleaning supplies, lysol, etc (as usual) and went to work There was also an elevator with gum pasted on the wall, which was never cleaned off The decor was fabulous and the accessibility to activities in the area was a plus Oh, there’s complimentary parking

Joseph Guyer

No doubt this hotel is beautiful My young daughter said several times that she wants to have her wedding hereHowever, when compared to other hotels out there, it’s sub-par

The rooms were not very large The coffee maker in the room is situated in a spot that is not near enough to an outlet There is no microwave in the room However, there is a microwave in the ice machine room It was broken And the ice machine was brokenThe control for hot tub was broken The pool was nice and the kids had a great time swimmingBut all in all, for $400 a night I think the value is severely lacking

Jen Porta

Didn’t stay there, went for a conference for several days Very nice place Ate at the Starbucks upstairs

Didn’t get the chance to go to the Steak House upstairs yet Do want to try that next yearLove the locationOnly downside is their concession stand food and drinks were SO expensive and they were mediocre at best Got a soft pretzel for $8 that was almost as dry and hard as pretzel rods!!! It must have been under the heat lamp all day! Chicken tenders were mostly breading and they were tasteless Do not buy concession stand food Eat at the places upstairs or go out to the many nice places close by

The hotel physically, I’m giving a 3 star rating However the staff, I will give a 5 star rating Here is why…

Terry the front desk associate is super friendly from the start I had problems checking in and was quickly resolved Had problems mid stay and was quickly fixed Ramon the bartender is also super friendly and accommodating when I place my food orders They made my stay a lot better and not think about the physical facility issues I had Quality staff right there! Thanks

Cyndi Parsons

Attended a convention there in March 2022 They were short handed all week but the service was amazing The staff ended up like family and we had a great time clowning around with them

The food was amazing and the rooms were fresh and comfy We loved the convention space and the lobby has lots of room to gather I hope we can visit here again

Nastiest hotel we’ve stayed at in a while Had to switch rooms and still was gross Hotel is in disrepair

Lobby is nice to lure you in Pool has an expired health inspection certificate by over a year and the women at the lobby did not seem to carewalk past the lobby and the smell of rotting flesh permeates They told me it was the garbage can but the smell is still here 5 days later They had a puddle of pee left in the elevator until we complained and they wiped it up but did not use a cleaner so it still smelt like pee Husband had to do repairs in the room doors for us to feel comfortable No organization to the room Mirror in the dark hallway with no light, no counter space in bathroom, awkward showers with no space to put your shampoo ect I have absolutely no idea how people are giving this place 5 stars! Such a shame This hotel has good bones but needs a total remodel

This is excellent value for money for long term rentals We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that cost least $150 a night The rooms and some of the furniture are dated but highly practical

Even though there were 2 bedrooms there wasn’t much room to work from but that’s where the spacious business center, which is next to the lobby came in very very handy The location is top notch Staff was very helpful and cheerful all the time There was a full DIY laundromat located centrally and a small marketplace selling drinks and snacks, and even some medicines and household essentials like laundry soap Strongly recommended for long term stays and fire value conscious travelersThe grab and go breakfast is something that should change to an in person breakfast And they should do more to recycle on their premises

Mandi Markwardt

Nice service and the room offered somewhat of a “homey” feeling We enjoyed being able to unpack our belongings in the walk-in closet, and they had a brand new hair dryer for usThe furniture could use some TLC and the adjacent bathroom was missing the shower curtain liner

The kitchen sink had a leak and the “grab-and-go” style breakfast sack was very disappointingOverall, I would come back, but if you’re looking for more luxurious accommodations this isn’t the spot for you

Ser Hawke

Hotel gave me a runaround on whether I could get the government rate I asked for it for check in, the woman told me she didn’t know how to do it and ask at check out I asked at check out and the guy there said that they could give it to me but that the gm needed to do it

He even took a copy of my ID Then at the end I was told that they couldn’t give me a government rate and that its only for one bedroom I wouldn’t have minded not getting it, but the run around was ridiculous, especially after having to wait about a half hour to check in the first dayThe rooms were okay but had a musty smell The skylight was dirty and cracked and the walls had some scratch marks One of the ceilings had a small crack it it Sometimes the customer service was good but very hit or miss The pool was nice but the lack of consistency on the rates and the fact that the second night they were double the price seems like they are just trying to get as much money as possible

This was the worst Marriott we’ve ever stayed in If I could give them a negative rating for service I would We were here for 6 days

The sheet they gave us at check-in said our room would be cleaned once since we were here more than 5 days We called to get it cleaned on Wednesday and they then said it would only be a “touch-up” with fresh towels and empty trash (which they didn’t) They also didn’t re-supply necessities and we had to call several times for that Any time we needed anything (like fresh towels) it was a struggle and several callsAlso, when checking in the desk clerk let the person in front of us spend about 10 minutes picking the room he wanted When I asked about an upgrade (I am Titanium) She just immediately said no – barely looking at her system We ended up with the smallest room on the floor – for 6 nights! Finally, although the lobby floors were clean, the carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years It was disgustingThis is truly the hotel that Marriott has forgotten aboutWe come to this area often but I will never stay here again

Wendy Gates

Very clean, new property You always see staff cleaning The amenities are nice for Chicago area

The rooms lack full length mirrors and only have 1 hook for towels I appreciated having a kitchen, grill, laundry, an amazing gym, pool, free breakfast, parking, a nice outdoor area with a view and even a little lounge The bikes are too tall for me and most hotels that I have been to include bike rental with the room Coffee is actually pretty good

Angelina Mancini

Upon our arrival, we found out they lost one of our room reservations We booked a new less desirable room to fix it with customer service As soon as we were done customer service found our old reservation

I went to the front desk to remove the fourth reservation personally to ensure there were no mistakes They assured me the manager would deal with it personally when she arrived and would call me before they deleted ANYTHING They deleted our preferred room in stead and didn’t even call It took three in-person visits to the front desk to get this fixedI asked for extra towels and toilet paper on day one It took two in-person front desk visits, two phone calls, and over a week to get more We ran out toilet paper twice during our stayI asked them how often they service the room because it had been a while They said they do it on Tuesday We had been here nearly two weeks and they had never been in on a Tuesday or any other day for that matter They did come but only after my requestWe had to extend our stay We went down this morning to do that and even paid This afternoon, we came back to find that all our things had been removed by the hotel staff My body wash is missing, and my damp loofah and opened liquid toiletries were found loose in my luggage Two pairs of super expensive tweezers, my hairbrush, brand new hair accessories, a mirror, toothbrush, toothpaste, ect and have yet to surface and they have made no push to reimburse me for the lost/stolen items We are no longer in a room with an oven or private bedroomsI can’t sleep with all this noise and my earplugs are gone too 😫

The pandemic cutbacks have really made this place inferior to what the Marriott standard used to be We certainly can get by without daily maid service, however there was one tiny bar of soap for two nights for two people We had to move it back-and-forth between the shower and the bathroom

There’s in room coffee to make in the morning, but only enough for one out of two morningsBoth TVs were unplugged, and it took us a few minutes to figure out that we had to plug them in to get them to workThere was a clock radio, but the buttons to reset the time to the correct time only worked for minutes, but not for the hours I guess everyone travels with a cell phone, so the clock in the hotel is now superfluousThe computers were down when we checked in, and they had to take a photo copy of my drivers license and credit card Of course, they said they would shred it once it was entered, but in this day and age, businesses are not supposed to leave that information visible to employees at any timeWe called the front desk to ask for an hour delay at checkout time, but we still had someone knocking at our door half an hour before the promised checkout time to clean the roomThere is a morning coffee bar downstairs, but on a Sunday morning when it was busy, I had to ask for the cream containers to be refilled There were no stirring sticks, but I snuck a spoon from the buffet next-doorWe did have a lovely well presented buffet breakfast for a large groupThe room was clean, and almost everything else was in working order, although the shower drained extraordinarily slowly The room was clean, and everything seemed relatively new and freshHopefully as pandemic fueled staffing shortages improve, they will be able to undo some of the cuts that they’ve been forced to make

Michael Pinto

My wife and I had a night away and stayed here, close to our homeNice and clean hotel and roomSince my in-laws booked us the room as a surprise, they booked it through hotels

com instead of Bonvoy direct They were nice enough to honor my Gold Elite status and the amenities that are associated Very nice of themNice hotel, nice staff, and an a around solid property I will definitely stay here again for a local hotel

Mike Lurie

I will give you the good, and the not so good I hesitate to call it bad, because it really wasn’t terrible, but worth notingFirst, the good

Hotel staff were AMAZING! They were so friendly and helpful From the front desk staff to the breakfast staff to the bar staff – they could not be nicer With every interaction I felt like familyThe room was very spacious and very clean Every room is a suite, so there is a separate bedroom that can be closed from the remainder of the roomThe price was amazing, I wold have expected to pay much moreNow for the not so good I was there in early July, and it was hot outside However, the A/C in the hotel was on overdrive It was so cold in the hotel lobby, bar, and eating area you almost needed a coat or sweatshirt In fact I did see several older folks bundled up because it was so darn coldSame with my room When I first opened the door, I was surprised at how cold it was I had to turn off the A/C to get the room up to a manageable temperatureAnd while the room was super clean, you could tell it is in need of updating The bathroom was great, but not very bright And the sink drained very slowly Also, the hot water faucet would leak when the cold water was turned on, making a sizeable puddle on the counter All of these are easily fixed if they were to spend some time making regular updatesI am still providing 4 stars because the good far outweighs the not-so-good Will definitely stay there again, as it is close to highways and friends and family when I travel to Chicago

Looked very promising when I walked in Room seemed clean at first glance but once you look closer you see it could use a lot of work Bed was comfortable

Tiles in bathroom were cracked I took a shower and stood in almost knee high water by the end of it and found some trash in a cabinet that looked like it had been there for years Wont be staying here again

Timothy Harding

Front desk employee was sitting in the back room while I waited over 10 minutes at the front desk to check in They should get a bell if that is how they operate Bathroom was not very clean and room had only hand towels

No actual bath towels could be found and of course I noticed this at 5:30am Ordered pizza from my favorite place with plans on taking it home to my family Put it in the refrigerator only to notice when I was leaving that they have them turned off So all my food was ruined I will definitely be finding a new place to stay while coming to the area

Stacy Redmond

I recently booked a double suite for my grandson’s birthday and the accommodations were horrible I’ve stayed here many times and never had an issue they didn’t handle but , this time was different The entire kitchen in the room had issues

The garbage disposal went out and backed up the sink, dishwasher was receiving dirty water from backed up sink/disposal, one burner on stove didn’t work, and surface light on microwave didn’t work Called for maintenance and was told 15 minutes well, a hour and a half later I called again to reach Anastacia at the front desk who was NO HELP I was told there was no maintenance or house keeping available but, she could move us to two rooms Again, it was a birthday party and I had 5 small children and had decorated the room and was cooking dinner on the one burner we had So, I explained why moving wasn’t an option and asked about the bill Anastacia’s response was “I’m not touching your bill but I can offer the two rooms At no time outside of the two rooms did she offer any other solution At which time I tried contacting the General Manager So we’ll see what happens because this was poor treatment of a customer

Very nice hotel for a couples stay during an extended Valentine’s weekend Looks like 1970s business architecture, but the inside is quite nicely decorated, and rooms were very nicely appointed It was not very busy, and the prices were excellent and worth the upgrade to the Executive floor with whirlpool baths

Staff was friendly The interior floorplan layout seemed a bit odd and which door is really the main entrance is confusing given this is also a conference center The entrance needs better signage and marking

Greg Seidel

I have stayed at this hotel twice now

once last year and the other time was this past weekend I had such a good stay here last year that I couldn’t wait to come back Well, things changed Last year I would’ve given the hotel 5 stars This year, 2 starsThe Good:- The hotel is located in a forested area with neaby trails that you can walk- The lower level has a pool, hot tub, sauna, and fitness center- Breakfast buffet had an alright price with good offerings- Most guest rooms have a spacious sink area outside the bathroomThe Bad:- The cleanliness of the building took a major nosedive compared to last year When I checked-in on Friday, there was garbage everywhere Empty cups in waiting areas, litter on the floor, and there was a silver breakfast tray (from the previous visitor) that sat outside my room (601) for the entire weekend You cannot tell me that no one from housekeeping noticed that tray sitting there for 48 hours- Pool area might need a refurbishment soon There was rust on the floor and mold on the walls and ceiling (I know it’s a pool area and it’s going to eventually happen)- There was a police investigation going on down the hall from where I was staying- Noise can be so-soOverall, would I stay here again? Maybe to a probably not

Jeff Axelrod

Absolutely disgusting pool with black mold on ceiling tiles and walls Every time we were at the pool there were no towels Staff didn’t have enough towels to bring to the pool to accommodate the guests after we called them for help

Pool chemicals must be pretty harsh; my skin was peeling for several days after the visit Temperature controls in room didn’t work, keeping the room about 5 degrees warmer than set all night Beds were extremely comfortable and room was clean Phone system didn’t work half the time Staff did the best they could under the circumstances and were extremely nice Shower pressure was abysmal but jetted tub was nice

I would have given 5 stars for room, but I must be honest about some finishes in the bathroom A little tired, but overall, such a pleasant stay and worth the extra to stay The evening reception was laid back and had a terrific bartender

The other bartender in the restaurant was also fantastic, giving us a tip in a local Chicago style pizza place The breakfast was superb, and the made to order omelettes along with the service everywhere were unmatched! Great job in staffing and keeping up with the needs of your customers

Abdul Riaz

I was pretty excited to see a quiet place It has amazing indoor view I enjoyed breakfast: it has various options

Staff was friendly Erving time snack was a good option Little issue with room and restroom plumbing but overall I have a great leisure trip with my family It was quite and adequate during night time Elevator has secure operating option I recommend it for family and friends

Crystal Vang

Nice hotel and good location Quiet area, and friendly staff Family friendly hotel, free breakfast omelet made to order, free drinks during happy hour! Pool is okay, but can be busy, which makes it difficult to swim or play, wish it was bigger for such a large hotel! Walls are thin in the suites, living area, no door sweeper, and you can hear basically anyone walking by the hall

Overall good experience and for the deal we received it was great Spacious living space and bedroom (2 queen beds, two TV, a couch and desk/chair and single swivel sofa chair, wet bar sink and microwave/fridge/coffee keurig, plenty of drawers for clothes)

The entire experience from booking my room to checkout time and everything in-between was phenomenal The entire staff was friendly and professional They treat you like a guest In their own home

Facilities are clean top to bottom Located in convenient location Rob and Maggie dealt with many questions I had throughout the week prior to my stay Wonderful to deal with on the phone even better in person Perfect for all my family of 4s needs TOP NOTCH

Anthony Sherlock

Everybody was extremely courteous, the rooms were immaculate and clean (which is great being in the pandemic) and the facility is very well maintained The kids had a great time swimming in the pool, the breakfast was always fresh and out on time and all of the team members were always willing to help out We are local and stayed here for an extended period of time due to a water line breaking in our house, and would come back here in a second if the need arose

Great job!

Joe Meezy

I travel every other week to many places, I stayed 4 days here and had to go out to buy breakfast because what they offer is not suitable to consume in my opinion I was not offered room service nor did I receive room service the entire time The walk to my room was very long after working all day because of the hotel design and floor access

Do not bring a large vehicle because the parking garage is height restricted The room I had was nice but the bed was sunk in All in all if you need a place to lay your head then here you go otherwise I would consider finding another hotel

One of the best Hampton Inn & Suites I have had the pleasure to stay at The room, bed, shower, decore – everything was relatively new Stayed for 2 nights and went to another Hampton Inn for 8 nights and wish it was as good as this one

The staff is really friendly and helpful The breakfast was decent with hot food, drinks, and other hotel food Not bad at allYou cannot go wrong staying at this location

Check in and staff was great Free bottled water at check They helped us with an early check in for one of our rooms, which was great

But, once we got into the room, the 1st room had a pile of long strands of hair sitting right on A/C unit Our 2nd room had a dead bird that has been dead for quite a while right outside of the window and on the 2nd day, their was a bug (silverfish) on my bag when I woke up But, nice overall area, beds where comfortable and roomy

The room was was squeaky clean, our dogs sniffed but didn’t find anything new ( Yes, that’s happened before but not here) Staff was friendly, courteous and professional, all the common areas were kept up very well, each chair or station in the pool/fitness area had a towel waiting for whoever went to use that item next Great breakfast if that’s something that is important to you! Hot items, fruit, yogurts, toasters for your use, surpassed my expectations for a hotel breakfast

Nothing short of a good stay and would recommend

This was a wonderful stay! The staff was wonderful upon check-in and check out We stayed in a King Suite Jan 21, 2022 for my son’s graduation for boot camp at Great lakesThey had plenty of hot breakfast both days we stayed

And a room to watch the graduation if you didn’t get a ticket! The bed was so cozy, I wanted to take it home with us!! My kids loved the pool and the kitchenette was the perfect size for making a snack or light mealHair dryers kept me from running outside in the freezing air with wet hair!!! A huge plus for this Florida girl Loved the coffee and hot cocoa bar!!I cannot say enough about how accommodating and helpful the staff was!

If it wasn’t for the manager having checked us in an hour early and staff being friendly, this would be a 1 star Got up to the room, fully unpacked, and while going towards the sink outside the bathroom stepped in a wet spot on the carpet It was pee – guessing pet due to it being relatively pungent

It was out of the way and I thought it made sense someone might not notice it, until we found two much larger spots near the entrance towards the kitchen Staff was apologetic and came with cleaner, but even after rinsing out the spot and airing it out with the large sliding door (that opens directly to a patio rail – odd but convenient here), it smelled pretty strong of cleaner 6 hours later when we came back While we didn’t ask for a new room when we notified them (again, early check in), we weren’t offered one either By the time we got back there wouldn’t have been time to settle the kids into a new space Based on how strong the spray was, I have to imagine they usually don’t have someone stay in the room when they have to use itPossibly equally problematic but more endemic, is that the second floor unit we were on feels like it was carpeted over something other than a smooth surface (wood or other) There are several spots where the carpet dips down as you walk, and frankly if youre not careful could probably tripI will say – it was a quiet place, and I didn’t have to worry about anyone coming through the halls drunkenly waking up the kids That’s why I booked it in the first place But, in hindsight, it probably wasn’t worth the benefit at about $200 for the night

I can’t recommend breakfast, we did not include it into the price There are good options around The hotel is super friendly

Rooms are spacious and clean No smell (I am extremely sensitive) No pool which is unfortunateThe hotel personal is very responsive and thoughtful Thank you for a comfortable staying

The breakfast buffet was outstanding, but the service is even better! The staff is so friendly! They also have a Starbucks The gym was great We experienced difficulty while purchasing a movie, so we called the front desk

They had someone with OnDemand call our room in a matter of minutes, who walked us through how to fix it It was so helpful! Loved everything about our one night stay!

My stay was 24-27 January 2022 for a business trip Since this was a slow time and not many guests at the hotel, I felt more detail should have been given to cleaning room, unless they are low on staff I had my regular cleaning wipes and felt if I had to spend the time, I did to feel comfortable then the room was not that clean

First impression is everything looks nice but cleaning is in the details Overall, the hotel is nice, in a nice location, off a main road area with eating & stores along with businesses around The only thing about the room I did not like was the bathroom To small and while sitting on the toilet, you would have to turn your legs to one side to close the door If you turned to the other side, your legs would hit the tub The first night a colleague and I had ordered something for dinner Mind you her specialty is food service She had the burger which she did not finished but she said it tasted like a package burger meat My dish was hummus with pita bread Well, the pita bread was the only thing I ate The hummus came out chunky which I had never had it ever served like that Thank goodness for the happy hour free crackers, cheese & fruit We had stayed at another Embassy Suites in Chicago area before, and that one had the bar tucked in a cove which prevented the noise from the bar Although nice, when people drink their voices tend to increase and at times folks were loud until 10 & 11pm Now breakfast was great, hot foods and could get a nice omelet made Pool area had warm water, but did not get in, but loved the exercise area, although a machine was down If I have to come back, I will have to ask for room higher up toward back and would not eat off menu

Don’t let the exterior fool you, this hotel is quite nice inside We did book our short stay hoping to use the hot tub, but it wasn’t filled Not a big deal, but we did utilize the pool, which was nice and warm

We got free happy hour drinks and that was a pleasant surprise! The hot breakfast set up in the morning was fabulous Hot coffee, iced coffee, made-to-order omelets, French toast, pancakes, baked goods, cereal, oatmeal, breakfast meats, eggs, juice, bread, bagels, yogurtall great options! We did have to change rooms, as our first room was next to a room full of people who also had a dognot ideal The front desk was kind enough to switch us to a room on the 5th floor and that was nice and quietThe rooms are not huge, but it was fine for our family of 4, including 2 young kids The beds were very comfortable and things seemed very clean The bathroom is small, but we only stayed overnight, so it wasn’t a big deal for usThe carpet, wallpaper and furnishings are a bit dated and worn in a few places and the hotel is not brightly lit, but overall it’s pretty nice My 6-year-old declared that staying here was “one of the best days of my life!” So, make of that what you will

I drove two hours to bring my son here to swim and shop at the mall Upon checking in I was told the pool is not working and the guy at the front desk seems to have an issue He just wasn’t nice and friendly at all

The lady was nice and pleasant Although she didn’t offer me complimentary water and offer the ladies who checked in behind me water and explained to them where the elevator and bar was I stayed here years ago and it seems to be better staffed and we’llmaintained I was gonna extend a night but no This travelagent will take her money elsewhere where the staff seems more welcoming I referred so many people here but I see things have changed quite a bit

So we stayed her for 3 nights 2 rooms All 3 days there was no hot water due to a boiler issue So cold showers for everyone! As previous commenters mentioned it was definitely run down a bit

The lobby was nice and updated However the rooms were definitely dated and small I had a fridge I had to turn off because when it kicked on there were bad bearings or a loose belt or something that sounded like a dying seagull when it kicked on Oh and they only service the rooms once every 5 days That info is on their website I will say so I’ll take the the heat on that one, (was the only thing with heat during my stay) The only reason I gave it 2 starts instead of 1 was that the staff was very friendly The thing that kinda peeved me is that when I brought up hey can we get a discount on our stay you know because NO hot water all I got was a “we are sorry for the inconvenience but I can’t do that” Listen to the other reviewers and look elsewhere!

Hotel and front desk staff were polite and amazing We requested a crib for our one year old and it was a worn out pack and play that she couldn’t even sleep on The noise from other kids running down the hallway at night, kids knocking on our door at 1 in the morning, and then drunken stumbles fighting outside our door was icing on the cake

Stay here if you don’t want any sleep

Standout staff Accommodating and truly kind Rooms were fine, although both rooms I stayed in had issues with shower temp and water pressure, and multiple common areas like the bar and restaurant were under renovation

They did their best Overall this is an outstanding property under renovation to keep up the standard of service you expect from their brand A great place to stay The attached Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is a game changer

I’ve been to at least 10 Renaissance hotels around the world, and this is easily the worst Renaissance hotel I’ve lived at The service was terrible There was no hairdryer when we checked in, and when I tried to call the front desk, nobody answered, so I had to come to the reception

Also, they weren’t able to provide any slippersThe buildings are quite old, and due to renovation, only half the amenities are open Sound insulation is terrible We were hearing constant door slamming and children screaming, despite us staying in a CORNER ROOM! We got woken up before 7AM on both days we stayed there The shower has very low water pressure, and it takes half an hour to do a “quick” shower There’s also no access control for the elevators, which means non hotel guests can get to any floor they want Fortunately, this neighborhood is relatively safe, so this won’t pose too much of a security riskThe only upside is the price We booked two nights for $135/night, after taxes and fees, which is a good deal for the Chicago area around the memorial weekend However, with the problems mentioned above, this hotel isn’t worth the price

CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFT: We stayed here for a wedding and the room was very nice and clean However, our car, parked in the hotel lot had its catalytic converter stolen overnight Unfortunately, there are no cameras on the parking lots so the police couldn’t do anything

The GM returned my voicemail and did comp our room which was very appreciated (but not much to offset the cost of a new catalytic converter) The theft of catalytic converters is not unique to this hotel, but its proximity to 94 definitely makes it a target I personally feel like putting in cameras is an important step the hotel should take A Marriott should provide some level of security I’m a student and this financial loss is not easily absorbed Just be aware!
