My husband and I were disgusted by the conditions of the hotel and our room There was blood and Feces on the wall as well as hairs on the floors and the shower The shower curtain has mold on it

We ended up buying cleaning supplies from a nearby Publix and cleaning the room ourselves I’ve never had to stay at a hotel that was so filthy Regardless of the price this is unacceptable If you’re thinking of staying here, don’t There’s plenty of other hotels around the area within walking distance that are much nicer

Garron Gillespie

Rooms are very dirty We switched rooms because the first one smelled of mold and mildew so bad it took your breath away However, the second one was worse

The carpets are very nasty with built up dirt, food, and ect around all the walls This place has never seen a deep clean My wife and I messed up and took our small children to the pool late one afternoon, a much older couple was locked in an embrace making out the whole time and another older gentleman made my wife feel so uncomfortable in her bathing suit we had to leave This was a non smoking hotel but there was smoking everwhere and not just cigarettes Definitely would not recommend this hotel to even a homeless person

Philly Phreak

Wanted 3 days but couldn’t accommodate us for more than 2 Door doesn’t look very safe but they are remodeling Bed was a little hard and one evening couldn’t enjoy the pool or tv because someone had their music real loud by the pool

No knives to cut your waffle – a minor thing And when I told the worker that the milk was expired so promptly got rid of it

I was nervous because I was on the backside of the hotel Not very much light but please do not sleep on this location Staff excellent ,rooms very nice and clean

And it’s in an awesome location The manager I believe her name is Jenny so sweet and kind and she told my daughter and I all the great places to go Also Heather was awesome I could have not ask for a better stay The only thing I missed was an indoor pool and breakfast cost was a little expensive but other than that I had an awesome experience and I will return housekeeping was great as well All I’m asking is give them a tryI loved the service

Robert Fortner

This recently remodeled Hilton Garden was a great option for us during our stay at Beaufort It is just off the main highway, so very convenient There are a few restaurants in walking distance, a Food Lion and very close to two coffee spots (highly recommend Urban Brew)

It took us about 30 minutes to get to Hunting Island, and 5-10 minutes to get DT The hotel staff was pleasant in all my interactions with them, and they even gave us a pet gift bag with treats, local information like pet friendly restaurants, and vets, a water bowl, poop bags and other items Hotel was clean, and quiet Great Experience

Hampton Inn in Beaufort has always been a great place to stay, but when you can find a hotel that has stayed consistently great in the times of Covid you know that you’ve found a gem I don’t know what hotel staff are paid, but they all deserve a raise These people have created a warm, welcoming energy

Everyone from the front desk clerks to the housekeeping staff was kind and helpful When we checked in, you could tell that they were booked to the max but the ladies at the front desk had a system set up to have guests checked in rapidly and efficiently They were friendly and funny It was refreshing these days to be treated with that hospitality that used to be the norm The breakfast was outstanding, and the breakfast attendants were helpful, organized, and on top of things The hotel is very family-oriented, and even though there were some celebrations going on, nothing got crazy Everybody was friendly, peaceful, kind It was a nice change of pace from other recent hotel stays The rooms were comfortable and the shower was great No complaints whatsoever On the way out I even caught the housekeeping staff having an uplifting conversation about putting positivity into the world This whole place has a different vibe, and that’s what you get when you employ and retain outstanding people A+++ in my book Forget the fancy gimmicks, this is the place to stay in Beaufort if you want to feel at home, or when you want to come back home

Steve Graham

Arrived to check in and there were 5 guests ahead of us but the young lady at the counter had everybody checked in within 15 minutes

outstanding We were given the correct type of room on the first floor, but my wife wanted to be on a higher level so again, the young lady re-assigned us to a room on the third floor with a wonderful view of the bay and marsh Room was clean, had a large bathroom/shower, and was very quiet Breakfast set-up the next morning was plentiful with an excellent selection of omelets, sausage, home fries, fruits, yogurt, waffles and cerealvery clean serving and eating area Great experience

Chris Odonnell

Pros: Nice breakfast in the morning Very clean and well decorated Lots of space to work or hang out outside of the rooms

The rooms have space and great amenitiesNegatives: mattresses are older and hard Pillows are older and flat They have limited front desk staff so you have to call several times and the doors lock at 10-11pm to the hotel So you have to call to have someone let you in if you check in late or do not have your key It is not like other Hampton inns I’ve been to

Perfect My girlfriends and I stayed there last weekend It was perfect

Very clean and all the staff was wonderful Eric, the manager was very attentive, pleasant and always smiling Even though he was always busy! I don’t think he ever slept! He was always there when we needed something… Whether it be a blanket or just ask questions The breakfast was made fresh and delicious The cook and the waitress couldn’t have been any more accommodating For being short staffed everything went smooth The back patio and view is beautiful We have friends there now and my friends will return over the holiday this month Hoping The same great staff is there I really need to know where Eric buys his shoes too! Thanks for the great stay

Donna Carr

My friends and I stayed here last weekend and I just have to say that the staff was excellent! They were short-staffed like everywhere else is right now because people don’t want to work! That being said, the service we received was FANTASTIC!!! Eric, the traveling manager, took great care of our requests and we could not have been more pleased with his friendly attitude and personality in general The kitchen was only available as a grab-and-go due to staffing issues but the food was prepared to order and it was amazing! I have specific dietary needs and the server made sure everything was perfect for me! I am going back to stay in a couple of weeks again Clean rooms and everything we needed

I highly recommend them

Dani G

First room the bathroom smelled so strong of cigarette smoke It’s a non smoking hotel and we could taste it just being in the room it was gross We were able to get a new room thankfully but the new one had a broken bathroom door handle

The neighbors were super loud and partying until 430 am Front desk was obviously friends with them we asked if they could do anything and she made it clear she knew them but would talk to em Smelled super strong of weed from them as well all night and morningSecond night went fine no loud neighborsPool is disgusting Looks nothing like the pictures at all Lights on ceiling burnt out, all the paint peeling in the room, rust everywhere, hot tub drained and dirty No towels Just super gross Nothing like the website photos Would not stay here again

Okay so everything was clean and we had great service We were greeted when we walked in each time The only thing I didn’t like was the water pressure in the shower

It took me forever to get the shampoo out! Either shower head or pressure needs to be adjusted especially considering people are coming from the beaches and need to get the sand off themselves Thanks for the great service and clean room!!!

Laron Griffin

My stay here has been excellent! Great customer service from the entire staff and Inez was exceptional! She set the bar high from when my coworkers and I first arrived They were all very attentive friendly and tried to make our stay the best it could be Overall I’d recommend this location to anybody looking to stay in the area! Thanks for everything!

Kay Owens

There isn’t a single bad thing i can say about my stay here Check in was very quick and easy I even called a day before check in to let the receptionist know that my check in would be late because I was driving in from work and they made sure i would be alright on my check in night

I regret not remembering the name of the young lady that checked me in on February the 9th but she very sweet and professional She told me to let her know of I needed anything and saw me on my way going out for dinner and asked if everything in my room was good for me The room was impeccably clean and the entire inside of the building including the room smelled of fresh cleaning products The outside was super neat and clean Not one piece of trash was on the property Everything looked new and modern and well thought out The bed was also super comfy with more than ebony fluffy pillows! I would definitely return here again if I even visit the Bluffton/ Hilton Head area again and would 100% recommend this property to anyone that visits the area! Also if you plan to stay here for the Marine basic training graduation, it is about a 25-30 minute commute and the traffic wasn’t bad at all going to it coming from Parris Island

Wow! Less than a year old, it’s hip looking Breakfast was good, self serve Denise at the front desk is awesome! We asked for a porta crib and they said they didn’t have any

The front desk young man (evening) went out of his way and called the Home2Suites across the parking lot, got their last one and picked it up and delivered it to our room That’s going above and beyond There’s no pool It was cold anywayComplementary 24/7 coffees and teas in the lobby where we ordered in food and ate down there Nice Pool table in lobby too The night time young lady at the front desk was helpful as well All of them were exceptional I’d definitely stay there again!

Kelly Sember

Can’t say enough about the staff, fabulous, especially the woman who checked us in She went above and beyond!! The hotel, our room were super clean, inviting and comfortable If I had any complaints, we could hear the person in the adjoining room snoring, but we were awake and laughed, it didn’t interrupt our stay or sleep!! The breakfast was great too

We would definitely stay here again without hesitation

Christie Wheeler

Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $20 and stay at a different hotel The location and it being a newer hotel is what lead me to reserving a hotel room here However, I was super disappointed with the stay

The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from a hair dryer at 4am to super rude guests next door with loud music, screaming and yelling and slamming doors There was no soap or body wash in the room When I went to the front desk, they were out of these in house keeping They brought me a body wash from a vacant room to “tie me over during my stay” I ended up going and getting soap so that I could wash my hands because it was super annoying to open the shower every time I had to wash my hands The shower was not clean There were pink stuff in the corners of the shower and stuff on the walls near the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers None of the four wall receptacles in the bathroom worked The refrigerator was not cold There was white stuff that looked like glaze from a donut on the desk chairThere were a few positive points: The beds were comfortable The breakfast was good You can’t beat the location especially if you are going to the drive in movie theater or Hunting Island State Park

Overall, I really, really loved Anchorage and would go back sometime, if I’m ever in Beaufort again The pros: great location and a lovely view of the water The second story porch swings were amazing and very comfortable

The bed, linens, and pillows were all extremely comfortable The deep soaking tub was absolutely delightful The whole house has amazing ambianceThe downsides: as the hotel owners note-sound travels really, really easily in this house They provide a sound machine, but it wasn’t loud enough I was in room 202, which abuts the office/working area and it was noisy The staff, I could tell, were cognizant of that, and kept their voices down, but I should’ve packed ear plugs to just take the edge off in the evening hours as I could hear glasses and silverware clinking loudly well past 10pm on my first nightThe house feels a little worn around the edges and like upkeep is slipping – stains on the rugs, stuff on the rug under the bed Handles on my wooden doors were off and lying in the cabinet I rarely saw people that worked there, which was fine, I was on my own and enjoying the quiet—but it kinda felt like I was invisible/wasn’t there On Saturday night, I got a plate of delicious cookies and a carafe of water with a list of activities to do on the island, but not on Thurs or Fri, which I found oddOverall, I really did love the place, and I know that employing staff and doing upkeep during a pandemic is probably really difficult

Gary Kozlusky

Took our first vacation in over 2 years and stayed at The Anchorage for 4 nights It easily lived up to its reputation and online reviews We loved the historical aspect of the inn, especially all the woodwork

The views from the upstairs veranda were fantastic and the location was perfect to the historic downtown and all the good restaurants Bathrooms and showers were recently updated and seemed more like what you would have in a custom home Parking was free and they had an elevator for heavy bags Breakfast was substantial and delicious with multiple choices Although we didn’t use it, the “honor bar” was a pleasant surprise as it was well stocked with higher end liquor, good wine and craft beers The staff was friendly, engaging, and always helpful We felt at home but at the same time we also felt like important guests One of highlights of the stay was dinner in the Ribaut Social Club, the inn’s dining room We made it a point to have dinner in several of Beaufort’s higher end restaurants, but this was clearly the best dinner of the week! We’re looking forward to our next visit Gary and Connie K Sunset Beach, NC

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with this “Boutique Inn”! We enjoyed a restful stay during a cold snap in January The mansion is so impressive and filled with interesting history that you can read more about on their website The staff was very accommodating and very pleasant

Our room was 302 and it was amazing I enjoyed the views because of the huge windows all around our room It was nice to have window benches too The breakfast was very good, and there is an unlimited supply of “serve yourself” hot beverages I also have to mention the delicious chocolate chip cookies at bedtime with citrus water They do offer an honor bar on one of the floors if you need a nightcap I absolutely loved the 3rd floor veranda There are numerous seating arrangements as well as two huge swing couches I think my favorite part of staying at Anchorage 1770 was when when chatted with the owner She was able to give us some insight to the history of the house as well as ghost stories I just love history and some good old ghost stories! We will be visiting again Thank you!

My husband and I enjoyed our weekend stay at the Beaufort Inn It was perfect walking distance from a lot of places and the waterfront restaurants and park and all The staff was helpful

We stayed inside the main historical house The room was lovely, comfortable, spacious, and clean Parking was close We used the breakfast vouchers every day and enjoyed breakfast at both places Really great place to stay!

Meg Catizone

The Beaufort Inn hosted many of our guests for our daughter’s wedding as well as a welcome party in the courtyard on Friday evening The event staff was a pleasure to work with from the very beginning of establishing a room block The rooms and overall space are comfortable and unique

It allowed our guests to mingle with each other throughout a wonderful weekend The Inn is so close to all that Beaufort has to offer What a truly wonderful experience for our family and our guests!

Nilaja Green

This Inn is in a really ideal location close to downtown Beaufort, which makes it accessible For the price (over $200 a night), the rooms are not as nice as one might expect, including peeling paint, rust in the bathrooms and a toilet seat that seemed too small for the the actual toilet And also EACH ROOM DOOR HAS THE NAME OF A PLANTATION ON IT

Now, I get that this is the south and also South Carolina in particular, but if you want to trigger a person, just put the name of a plantation, where people were enslaved for hundreds of years on door of the room where they will be sleeping I guess for some this works, but for us, it absolutely did not and we left the inn after one night although we were booked for 4 Fortunately, a woman who is in management said that she was “working on” getting this changed, but I don’t know when and how many other people will also have sleepless nights before then At least post this on the website or something so people know what they are getting into

Quiet, clean, staff is very nice Hot delicious breakfast And a large clean pool

Couldn’t ask for moreStopped here for a night while traveling and thankful we did Bed was nice, sheets and room were super clean Plenty of pillows Only complaint I could have would be the restaurant was closed But lounge was still open for drinks

Holly Burnside

45 stars, overall pleased with our stay Friendly staff and great service

Conveniently located off the highway, near fast food & gas Our stay was comfortable & quiet, great night sleep in firm beds Room was basically clean, just a little dust in a cabinet & a couple cobwebs in corners Carpet is a bit aged, but shoes solved that problem Pest free room! Pet friendly Staffed 24/7 Serves breakfast & coffee Indoor pool Would stay again on a long trip because we’ve had a hard time finding a good/comfortable/clean room for our 2 day trip to Florida

is impeccably clean and has absolutely no “skeeviness” that I worry about in inexpensive hotels The bed was comfortable, the linens were of decent quality and there was a microwave and a fairly large mini refrigerator with a functional freezer compartment The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, Including the front desk and the woman in the breakfast room

The breakfast was fresh and delicious and plentiful Although of course this is a hotel rated with few stars compared to fancy establishments, we had to give it a five because it exceeded all of our expectations and we really had no complaints at all It was a perfect place to sleep comfortably on a long trip It is also right off of 95 and very convenient

We stay at a lot of IHGs and try to be honest but fair in our reviews The great things about this location was:Pets are allowed There is a lighted area designated for walking pets

Room was very quiet We requested high floor away from elevator and never heard any noise during our 4 day stay I could hear dog barking inside the rooms when I walked the hall, so the fact I didn’t hear them while in the room is impressive and let me know the rooms are well insulated The rooms are basic but have room to moveThe rooms were clean and I consistently saw staff mopping the lobby and public areasThe staff were friendly A special thank you to Amanda who consistently made us feel welcomeLocation is walkable to restaurants and stores It is a short drive to historic Blufton for more unique dining and shoppingBreakfast had a great variety of options and was clean and well stockedWe did not use the fitness center or pool but both appeared cleanThe only negatives (to be fair) was the elevator doors appeared to be heavily vandalized with a sharp object I hate that anyone would do this, but hopefully it’s cleaned up soon as it can make guests question who is staying there that would do this

Checked in and air conditioner not working Maintenance came up three times room temp did not change Went down to front desk to ask to be moved

Front desk said no available rooms I packed up and decided to spend the night in the nice cool lobby After an hour miraculously a room with a king bed became available There were three adults Desk personnel extremely rude to me and several other guests who were having room issues Worst hotel experience I have ever had To top it off I was overcharged!

We checked into the Holiday Inn Express at Bluffton, SC Monday, April 4 with a group of 42 booked through Diamond Tours The following morning, one of our fellow travelers had a heart attack and died The staff was immediate, efficient and helpful in the midst of this heartbreaking event! Johnnie Mae was one of the first persons on scene and provided timely necessary assistance

Will, Front Desk, aided in numerous ways with calm assurances and effective solutions to problems as they arose Andrew, Night Desk, helped resolve our desperate attempts to get transportation to the airport in Savannah after the scheduled driver did not show up at 2:45 am! God’s blessings carried out by this incredible staff made all of us on this long-planned trip grateful and thankfulBesides the wonderful staff, we recommend this Holiday Inn Express because of their clean rooms, well-appointed breakfast area and delicious food!

The room was clean, very comfortable, and nicely appointed The beds were surprisingly comfortable and the bedding was exceptional The staff was personable, sincerely friendly without the false sugar coating, and went out of their way to accommodate any and all needs

My only complaint, which was minor, is that they could use some heavy drapes instead of blinds The property across the street has lights at night which prevented our room from being dark

We only can give it 3 stars but I still recommend a stay (for one night) It is only 3 stars because of the value in comparison to the costsThe positives: most of the staff were friendly, the breakfast was delicious (although a fruit option is needed), the beds are comfortable, it is walking distance to restaurants, shops and waterfront

The negatives: the evening appetizers and deserts were disappointing We saw several posts from the inn with signature cocktails but none were severed the four days we were there (we were only offered wine one of the days) Coffee is not ready until 7:30 and sometimes it isn’t ready until 8:00 The inn is beautiful but like all historic inns it needs constant upkeepWe enjoyed room 7 but be advised all the rooms require many stairs Some of the stairs are uneven and would be very difficult for anyone with any mobility issues

I cried when I stayed at this property as it has a very deep emotional meaning to me Thomas Smith Rhett built this place back in the early 1800’s His brother Robert Barnwell Rhett, an ardent defender of slavery, owned a house just 2 homes down the street now known as the Secession house and a plantation here in Beaufort where my great grandparents were born

The property is beautiful, rooms are comfy, the staff awesome, and I will visit here again They have bikes for touring the neighborhood and downtown which is only a couple blocks away You have to have chef Beverly make you some of her French Toast for breakfast, the best anywhere!

*My experience as a young black woman traveling through the south*Me and my husband had a great stay here!! We arrived kinda late (9:30 pm) and left early (7:30 am) so didn’t stay too long We were passing through and decided to stay here The room (1 king bed) was HUGE

It was also super clean and the bed was comfy The hotel was quiet at night and we had a great sleep The breakfast was AMAZING! Staff very friendly We will definitely stay here again if we happen to be passing through Thank you Hampton!!I included my race and gender because as a black woman, sometimes I do feel unsafe traveling in the south, especially at night I’m lucky to have my hubby but not everyone is lucky
