Anthony Franklin

A very well staffed, and friendly hotel The 2 star rating is a misnomer; everything was clean, and nicely appointed The pool had a fresh supply of towels and seating; the water was refreshing and didn’t have too much chemicals

The room was clean and the pull out sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable as the king-size bed The blackout curtains meant a a good sleep The breakfast was nice as well They didn’t have any protein, (that’s why it missed the five stars) The exercise room has just enough for a small workout session, (it was over 90°) Overall a pleasure

Danielle Lawrence

We stayed here and LOVED IT The only reason we are giving a 4 star is because the fitness center smelled really bad Like to the point it couldn’t be used

If you don’t need this amenity, then I would highly recommend this place Service was great and everything was very clean If that is important to you, I would choose another place to stay

Katy Reeves

Gr8 location, bigger than ordered room for the 3 of us each having a bed to sleep in after attending family wedding! Breakfast was very slim Pickens both when I went at 8 and when my daughter went at 9 am only waffles, cereal, a few yogurts, a few apples, and a ton of individually wrapped blueberry muffins No eggs, bagels, warm sausage/bacon The warmer was on the island but not plugged in and empty

Disappointed

Besides the crazy traffic circle (if you have been to Waco you know) this hotel was great We usually stay at comfort suites and this was by far one of the best ones we have stayed out The service was top notch

The room was fantastic Would stay here again Wish we had time for the pool They have a work out room The breakfast was standard for comfort suites but who doesn’t love a free breakfast Loved the pictures in the room of Waco

Pam Sales

I have stayed at a LOT of Choice hotels, and this place was fantastic! Room was comfortable and CLEAN! Everyone was so friendly Bed was super comfy also (I need to know where they get their pillows) We discovered a slight maintenance issue this morning, and that was the fastest response I have ever had at a hotel anywhere! As in

my friend poked her head out the door as I began brushing my teeth to report it to housekeeping, and I hadn’t even finished brushing my teeth before maintenance showed up at our door! I highly recommend staying here if you’re in Waco!

Michael Hernandez

Very pleasantly surprised with this hotel The stay was great! We have stayed at several higher end hotels in the Waco area (there are only a few and we have stayed at all of them) and have not had as good an experience as we did here The rooms at the Comfort Suites were clean, spacious, and very comfortable

The shower was great pressure and wonderful temperature control The front desk staff was very friendly and super helpful when asked basic questions They seemed eager to help, not put off by annoying questions The morning breakfast hit the spot for a quick “let’s get something to eat so we can get our day started”! The downside is to be expected from a 2 star hotel, but not a deal breaker (no on-site bar/restaurant) Two negatives we noticed was one of our rooms had the shower water backup after several minutes Kinda gross as it is most likely due to hair clog (This only happened in one of the rooms we had rented) And 2nd, the AC was so so It was not hot, by any stretch, but if you like a freezing room, you probably won’t get it here The room did stay cold All in all, I would definitely stay here again

Nice friendly staff Rooms are definitely showing their age Bed was soft

Desk top, dresser top and nightstand tops were “tacky” to the touch Likely a combo of the materials finish plus whatever they are using to clean withThe hot water smells (stinks) so it’s a complete put-off and makes the sheets smell as well Every Fairfield property I have been to over the past few years are all dated Time for some upgrades!

giovanni perez

They need to update their website to reflect changes in the now non-existent hot tub and in-room jacuzzisStaff was very friendly and accommodating Rooms were fairly clean

Breakfast was good Tv had good streaming options but was also physically damagedOverall good stay

Moncel Abercrombie

Don’t stay here! We had a family discount but they charge you for all kinds of taxes My entire family thought the same thing

PILLOWS ARE HORRIBLE! HOUSE KEEPING DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO MAKE A BED WE HAD WRINKLES ON THE BOTTOM SHEETS LIKE SOMEONE HAD ALREADY SLEPT ON THEM We stayed two nights and housecleaning didn’t clean up when we were gone Only good thing is the convenience to the highway We will never stay there again I was also given different cost when booking We didn’t even have water in our mini fridge Don’t do it!!!

Patricia DuMar

The rooms were up to date and attractive I liked the seating area separate from the bedsFriends in our group were expecting a hotel bar as listed in the amenities

I appreciate the hot breakfast The hot items were prepackaged breakfast sandwiches, which was odd since the other items were not individually wrapped

Tim Buchal

Nice hotel right off of Interstate 35 in Waco, TX Access is challenging in summer of 2022 as there is significant construction The rooms were decent sized and modern

The breakfast was decent for the price and accommodations There seemed to be ample parking and the site is fairly close to some of Waco’s attractions (walking distance if you are so inclined, otherwise a quick drive) Overall a positive experience

Monica Garcia

This location is right across from Baylor and 2 to 3 minutes from the Silos and the Dr Pepper Museum The staff was friendly and always cleaning

It was a little frustrating with all the construction and closed roads Twisted Root is walking distance so that was convenient When we were there the hot breakfast was in prepackaged containers like pre-made biscuits and burritos The washers and dryers were free to use but you do need to provide soap and softener Pool and gym were nice Overall we enjoyed our stay

We walked in today with no reservations due to employee error with another hotel Rachel was working the front desk and she was AMAZING!!! She got us a nice room, poolside and a great rate due to our problem elsewhere She appreciated us being a member and said “We want you to come back”

WOW!!! Now THAT’S customer service!!! I will tell ALL my friends coming to Waco to stay here!! Very clean, updated & great staff THANK YOU, RACHEL & Courtyard Marriott!!!

Christian Nygren

I’m sure this hotel is fine for people visiting the conference center across the street, but I hated it I have never before paid so much and received so little The place was clean but why on earth would a suite have a conference table with 8 rolling chairs instead of a couch or arm chairs? There was nowhere comfortable to sit besides the bed! Additionally, despite a mini fridge being advertised, our room just had a bare hole in the cabinetry where it should have been

Further, while I understand the hotel isn’t responsible for loud parties in the courtyard, the single pane windows mean that you can hear the drunken conversations quite clearly And for over $300 per night you’ll think they’d at least have a complimentary breakfast, instead there is a weird bistro that’s more expensive than many of the restaurants within walking distance In fact, the proximity to so many things seems to be the only real benefit The staff are kind and friendly, but that hardly makes up for the problems here Essentially, if someone else is paying and you are going to the conference center this place is probably perfect for you If you are looking to vacation and sight see around Waco, look elsewhere

The first room we had, smelled really bad and had dead roaches inside the fridge and live roaches crawling on the outside of it Luckily I discovered this within a few minutes of arrival Took all of our luggage back downstairs and alerted the desk clerk

She provided another room but didn’t seemed too shocked about the comment of roaches I have over a decade of hospitality industry experience and went to check the second room before lugging everything back upstairs The room for the most part seemed clean and pest free and smelled better Needed to ask the clerk for tape to keep drawers in credenza closed She said “construction shifter everything” Upon staying some dissatisfactory things would include the lack of a comforter on the bed and the water was almost impossible to rinse in Though I worried about bugs being a situation the bed was fairly comfortable and the clerk was pleasant Not sure I’d stay there again though

So far this has been a great hotel Our toilet was broken but they fixed it asap The breakfast is very good considering it’s a hotel breakfast

The pool is nice and saltwater, though the hot tub is chlorinated enough to burn your eyes on the other side of the pool room All in all a great hotel Russel at the front desk has been so helpful our whole stay!

Margot Harvey

I was disappointed with the 3500 pet fee I had to stay 5 days

The highest fee I’ve ever had to payNo toast of any kind for breakfast No fruit or yogurtOn a positive note Brianna was very attentive, helpful and friendly I thank her for the excellent customer service I give her 5 stars!

Mae Joles

Check in is at 3 pm, and not a minute sooner Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but beware the towel rack and hair dryer that will fall off the wall Or the sink that doesn’t drain well

The pool doesn’t look near as nice or clean as online! Wierd smell, rusty fixtures, no fountains, and broken installations with a safety cone sitting over it Pool hours say closed at 11 but people were going in and out slamming doors until 1am The TV had horrible reception and constantly glitched out Breakfast was basic Bar is closed due to Covid still

This location was quiet and well maintained Breakfast was typical breakfast takeaways Only issue I had was housekeeping

First time they visited in my two week stay they made the bed with only 3 pillows My fourth pillow was found on the floor between the tv stand and wall…definitely did not fall off the bed The next time they came they didn’t take out the trash or leave me fresh kitchen clothes or soaps I found the kitchen towel in the middle of the living room floor Last time they came I had put the do not knock sign on the door and they kept knocking and eventually opened the door Thank god it was locked since I was sleeping

RS Adams

Our 2 bdrm suite was great Comfortable, roomy, well lighted, individual room thermostats, and perfect for my business and pleasure trip The staff were very professional and customer oriented

The hotel is near a major freeway, across the highway from a shopping center and within walking distance of Chuy’s & Saltgrass restaurants Couldn’t ask for a better location

The front desk stuff when I had checked in Mother’s Day weekend was super nice and Check in was very smooth and fast She made sure to remind me about the free breakfast the next morning as well! I really wish I would have gotten her name so I could have left a better review I arrived in the evening time so maybe a Night Shift worker! The room I had was very clean and I had no issues whatsoever during my stay

I would definitely stay here again if needed!

Jon D

We arrived after midnight the first night of our stay and while I checked in online with a late arrival, I decided to call to let them know that we would arrive late Good thing I did because they said they run an audit around 2-3 am and any people that aren’t checked in by then would be charged the room and cancel their reservation This seems like bad practice to me

I think Marriott should adopt the Hilton online check in where you can get your key on your phone and ensure that you have a room when you arrive, regardless of your arrival time since after all, you’re paying for it The woman who checked us in was very nice and quick with check in, which was extra nice after a long day of travelThe hotel itself is not bad A bit aged but the bed was comfortable and the room was cleanOn the second day of the stay, I received an email with a receipt for the one night stay even though I had made the reservation for 2 nights I asked the front desk what was going on and after some thinking, they figured out that there were 2 people with the exact same name (me being one of them) that stayed there the first night and they had somehow mixed up our reservations They were helpful and figured out how to fix the issue and charge me for the correct amount for the 2 nights per my original reservation A couple days later, I noticed that my card had been charged twice for 2 different amounts One was the correct amount and one was for the other Jon’s reservation I called the hotel and they said that they needed a credit authorization form from the other Jon in order to give me the credit for his reservation to my credit card So basically I was liable and held responsible for this incorrect charge to my credit card until the hotel received payment from this other guest What?? I emailed the General Manager and they were thankfully able to get the issue quickly resolvedI understand the odds of this happening again are very low but if you have a common name, I’d be sure to verify the length of your stay and room type during check in Also, if you plan to arrive after midnight, be sure to call the hotel after 11 pm (once the night person starts) and ensure they won’t give your room away I likely won’t stay here again next time I’m in Waco

Brett A. Snell

Decent hotel that is conveniently located near lots of landmarks (even if the roads are a tad confusing for an out of towner) As most of the other reviews mention there really is a great staff here, everyone I have dealt with so far was above average The rooms are clean and presentable

I really enjoyed having a good-sized tub and very hot water that seems to have no endDrawbacks are probably just related to the age of the hotel as it is nearing the time when they get refurbished Inside pool that should have been heated, maybe it is but is not on or working

This little gem in Waco made our one day visit amazing Israel, who greeted us and checked us in, did everything he could to accommodate our high demands with our rooms Janie, who is the best manager, was running around all day and night to make sure everyone had what they needed from towels and blankets to drinks at the bar

She was so sweet and was always friendly and smiling! The hotel is spotless and the breakfast in the morning was so fresh The saltwater indoor pool was so fun It just felt like home We require allot when we travel and they delivered Thanks for the fun time!

Brad

My wife and son stayed here while previewing College The bed had urine stains on the mattress My wife asked for housekeeping and was told none was working and that only one person was working at the hotel

She asked to change rooms and was denied because they were booked (we are skeptical) and then asked to change the sheets herself because no one could help her I called Corporate to complain and they supposedly started an investigation There was no follow-up, no ticket number delivered to my e-mail, and no bill adjustment I was told the pandemic was the reason they were operating with one person and that our family was feeling the impact Here’s a thought Hyatt the pandemic is over and you are a billion dollar company If you can’t staff adequately, perhaps you should be the one feeling the impact and not your guests Just close until you are prepared to staff responsibly It’s not fair to your one employee working or your customers I should note that I like the Hyatt brand and I am a Globalist This was just so unusual I thought it deserved a post cause it wasn’t handled internally

Amy Balsavias

We stay at Hyatt’s most frequently for consistency of cleanliness and service, but this one was rather disappointing Upon check-in, we found several dirty towels under the sink, and a thick layer of dust settled on the bathroom door and surrounding molding At 3:30 p

m, I requested extra pillows and by 10:00, none had been delivered When I went down at 10:00 and asked again, they told me they had ran out of extra towels and blankets just a few hours before Next time I am in Waco, I will try something other than the Hyatt

My wife and I spent three nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Waco We had a great time Room was clean and AC kept the room nice and cool

The have a great breakfast each morning We had eggs, pork sausage, white gravy and biscuits All kinds of other food – fruit, cereal, packaged oatmeal, juices and great coffeeAnd Mary at the front desk was great Big smile and willing to help you with anythingIf you are in Waco for a night or two – give the Holiday Inn Express a try We will stay there if we are in Waco again

Jane Wang

I had a fantastic stay here The staff were all welcoming, friendly, and helpful The room was comfortable and quiet

Breakfast was tasty and consisted of a selection of eggs, sausage, biscuits, bread, cereal, yogurt, fruit, cinnamon rolls, and various other things There were even containers so that you could take your food and eat it in your room if you wanted I couldn’t ask for much more in a hotel and would recommend staying here

Promise Mosley

The only reason this hotel is getting 1 star is because the woman at the front desk was very nice But other then that this place is absolutely disgusting For $136 for one night I would’ve gotten better CLEANER service at a motel

The beds had human c** stains all over the side of the box spring, they charged me a $15 holding fee but then tried to say it didn’t go through when it was taken out of my account And so I had to use two different cards and get a total of $30 taken out instead The pool was freezing and gross Looked like the box from YOU Wanted to get a nicer hotel for a birthday trip and decided to splurg, but ended up disappointed, grossed out, and over all unsatisfied

We had a nice two day stay here, but there are some things I would like to point out

(I would say it would have been a solid five if these thing did not happen) The good: When we arrived late after driving all day we had a very kind, friendly and warm woman check us in She was the only employee the whole time that acknowledged us Our room was nicely decorated, new spacious, and comfortable What could have made it a 5 star experience : Most of the ft desk staff were disengaged when we walked by and checked out, pretty cold and uninviting I traveled with pets I was charged a pet fee ($100 non refundable) but when the floor is dirtier than we we left it (I cleaned the floor before I put my pet’s food down the towel was super dirty) this is annoying sorry, it should be a deposit, not all animals are equal The free breakfast is a little disappointing I would stay here again, my expectations would just not be super high

Joanna Benavidez

Very nice and clean Close to alot of restaurants and very convenient We arrived a little early and Front Desk, didn’t get his name, was very helpful getting us checked in

Housekeeping was a little rude while we were trying to get Ice and breakfast but other then that very pleased with our stay Great Hot Breakfast and area is so new so felt very comfortable

Pretty disappointed in this stay Booked two nights & the first night we were so uncomfortable in the room & earlier they had said this was the last room for what I booked The shower curtain was absolutely gross, stained & the shower was not cleaned

When we got into the room, my husband literally killed a spider When we got up in the morning, he said we needed to switch rooms which he never says There were several large spiders,Rolly pollies & other bugs The room wasn’t cleanWhen I went to the front desk the gentleman who helped me was very nice & said he could downgrade us That was fine as long as the room was clean Got into the room, trash was full, shower curtain was also stained with what looked like blood marks It was “better” but not very cleanFor us to still be in a pandemic, housekeeping is crucial The man at the front desk came up and apologized and emptied the trashHowever, I never heard from the manager Never received an apology, points, reimbursement for being downgraded to a smaller room, anything I’ve stayed in Marriotts every week for the last 6 weeks and this housekeeping was the worst Also as a loyal, elite member I would expect moreI’m thankful for the help of the man at the front desk but sad that no one provided an apology, reimbursement, points, etc

45 stars out of 5 for the room It is decently renovated

The bathroom was much larger than of others this type Some updating is needed with the faucets, but is not a big issue The Queen bed was awesome The location worked out well and was quiet Breakfast was great and what was promised, with care given to it’s presentation and taste The staff were beyond what you’d see at some other basic places I would stay here again

Love the king room with the jacuzzi! Very spacious and the receptionist was very nice The only things I will complain about is the TV remote not working and they only give you 2 towels in the room, and we used the jacuzzi a lot so maybe one or two more would’ve been nice Those aren’t deal breakers, I would still recommend this hotel

Oh, and the swimming pool was basically a huge hottub (it was heated) which was amazing

We stayed here for about a week in March and had a very nice stay! The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly The pool was both indoor and outdoor It had a comfortable outdoor seating area and the hot tub was warm

The breakfast server was very kind and went out of her way to come say Good Morning to our daughter every morning The only complaint I have is that they skimmed down on their breakfast options during the week as opposed to the weekend I understand it’s busier on the weekends so it makes sense but it would still be nice to have more of a selection Located in a decent area within walking distance to restaurants and local attractions Overall would definitely stay here again

While we wanted the boutique Indigo next door (which was fully booked), this Residence was a nice backup Staff was incredibly polite and helpful, our 2 bedroom suite was large, airy, and clean The breakfast was basic but fresh and hot every morning

Nice coffee bar The indoor pool was clean and not overly chlorinated like some hotel pools can be 3 blocks to Magnolia Market, and Diamondback Restaurant All in all, a very good bargain Great for families

The stay here was not quality I have never felt like such a burden The breakfast is subpar

Pillows felt like bricks under your head Dishwasher in room was very loud, maintenance said it needed to be replaced but nothing happened during the stay The drain in the shower didn’t drain so you stood in water during your showerBasketball court was not fenced in and people park right there so if you loose control of the ball you could bounce it off someone’s car Cats on property

My wife and I have never had a bad experience with any of the Marriot family of hotels until we stayed at the Residence Inn in Waco When we arrived 12:30pm on Saturday, there were only about 5 or 6 cars in the parking lot, so we thought we wouldn’t have any issues getting into a room earlier than the normal 3pm check-in time The clerk at the counter told us that there weren’t any rooms clean but it shouldn’t be longer than an hour wait

I asked her if she could call my cell to let me know since we would be waiting in our car in the parking lot but she said they don’t call people that we would have to call them After about 45 minutes, I went back into the lobby to check to see if a room was available yet but she was busy at the counter checking in another couple I waited until she finished with them and gave them their room keys Once they headed towards their rooms, I asked her if a room was ready She again said, “no” not yet I asked her how she just checked in the previous couple, and she said that they had a different room than the one I booked I told her it didn’t matter what kind of room we were put in, we just needed a room She told me she couldn’t swap me out because they are at full capacity So, I went back in my car to wait My wife went in to check this time We have now been waiting for 1-1/2 to 2 hours The clerk wasn’t pleasant and told my wife that our room wasn’t ready yet My wife told her, “okay, it’s just that usually the hotels work with us since we are Titanium Elite” Here is where we were shocked: The clerk told my wife, “We don’t care what status people are; people are people” I called Marriot corporate after my wife told me what she said I do understand that ‘people are people’ but we only stay at Marriot hotels so that my status stays at Titanium so we do get the added perks and benefits In the end, our room wasn’t ready until 3:05pm Unfortunately, when we walked into the room (2nd floor) it smelled like poop and very strong smell They had to assign us another room (3rd floor this time) and that room didn’t have an odor We originally asked her to give us a room on the first floor since my wife doesn’t do elevators and I had knee surgery last week and was using a cane to get around We have stayed in Residence Inns many times (including this one) and we have never had a bad experience

Fun hotel! Well laid out rooms Bathroom door was not installed correctly and had a huge gap No housekeeping without request, no big deal as we are pretty neat, just an FYI

Area is a bit sketch Ask for a room on the pool side As we were leaving there was a barefoot man propped up against the door with his bike on the sidewalk So keep in mind! Bartender was outstanding! Get a smoked old fashioned!!

Kenton Thompson

This is a clean and comfortable hotel, but located in a very run down neighborhood and surrounded by road construction that makes it difficult to get in and out of the location The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and greeted us every time we came into the lobby The bartender was friendly, helpful and knew her stuff

I would definitely recommend this hotel for those reasons, but it will help once the construction is done

Emily Plocheck

We stayed in room 207 for one night There is an adjoining door with a gap at the top There was an older couple next to us which were quiet for the most part

It wasn’t like loud parting college students We could hear every word and make out conversations they had ALL night the snoring was like it was in our room Which resulted in a restless night of tossing, turning and frustration I could have slept better in the car (crossed my mind) Bring ear plugs if you’re planning a visit
