This is our second extended stay at Staybridge Suites in Johnson City In 2021, everything was fantastic In 2022, this hotel has deteriorated quickly! Examples: Garbage and towels put out in hall for pickup, still in the hall one and two DAYS later

Garbage from many guests at the trash can by the elevator (bags and bags), not picked up for days It was a fight to get towels, and then we would have to go to the desk to get them The room was not cleaned a single time in ten days We had to request sheets and change them ourselves The room had a broken toilet seat The slider shower door would not stay closed The lights and fan on the microwave didn’t work They had malfunctioning fire alarms, and didn’t bother to tell anyone whether or not to evacuate BUT THE WORST PART the front entrance is full of cigarette smoke I don’t care that people smoke, but I don’t think guests should have to navigate a crowd of smokers to get in the front door They could have a designated smoking area on the interior lawn but then I guess the front desk people wouldn’t be able to smoke and watch the front desk We spent about 2k on this stay, just for the hotel Very disappointed in the conditions and the lack of staffing to manage the hotel appropriately We didn’t eat breakfast, well, because if the rooms and common areas are that dirty, can the food really be all that sanitary?? Good points laundry is still free, but go early to get a machine The mattresses are comfy The two king suite is nice for a family; has two bedrooms/bathrooms and actually had three king beds If you are prepped to do all of your own linens/towels/garbage, then this might be an okay place to stay!!

John Paskell

Not a good experience this timeI got here at 7:00pm and rooms were STILL not ready Had to wait 30 minutes to get into my room

Then I went to buy some frozen food from the front desk, just to find out the GM does not allow you to put food on the roomHad I known that, I would have picked something up while I had to wait on my room to get readyNow I have to go back out to get something to eat! It’s OK though it’s not like gas prices are historically high oh waitBad job IHG, bad job

Brandi Elliott

Stay was OK at best However my main issue

we booked at a military rate which should have been discounted for the 7 days we first stayed + the 17 extended days a few weeks later They charged us the full rate and assured us they would refund for accidentally charging Supposedly the manager was out “sick” so she had to wait for her After a MONTH of the run around now we’re being told no refund… absolutely absurd we are getting screwed out of $600 This WILL be reported as it was their mistake and essentially now fraud

The staff at this place are phenomenal! My daughter left her doll in the bed and we were an hour up the road when we realized I call the front desk to see if they would hold it for us Receptionist said she would send housekeeping up immediately to find it and it would be left at the front desk for us

A few minutes later I received a phone call reassuring me they found it and it would be safe until we returned for it The rooms were very clean and comfortable Breakfast was better than most I would drive out of my way to stay at this location again Thank you!

I have worked at hotels… I am well aware of how they should be ran I am normally super understanding of issues that come about! But it is how you HANDLE the situation that makes or breaks a stay When we arrived at the hotel… I was not greeted as a Hilton honors gold member

No water nor snacks But that’s okay! I understand some may forget The staff at the desk was rude… Not welcoming whatsoever Then we get to our room… turn on the sink and it’s brown water I took a video to show the desk The next morning because we had just drove 9 hours from Pennsylvania and all we wanted was sleep The next morning at check out… I showed the front desk worker the video and was actually super polite about the situation! She looked at me as if I was stupid and said the water pipe had an issue but it should be fixed now…I’m just disappointed with my stay If the workers were kind and helpful… I wouldn’t be giving the review I am currently

Susan Walker

The room was roomy but

at 5:45AMthe breakfast kitchen smell blasted the room (second floor and no notification that our room was the kitchen annex) Hotel is too close to the upper and lower roads Yes Bristol racetrack is closebut that close is unreal Customer courtesy leaves much to be desiredright “pillow girl” And, againHampton Inn should talk w Hiltonthe breakfast is free (of course the room rates should reflect one) but CHANGE the menus–not everyone is still 5 yrs old w the same school menu every day Cheap food doesn’t make it eitheru want the customer to come backya think?

Wow! What a great stay Location is great, hotel is beautiful, staff is so friendly, attached restaurant and rooftop bar were awesome, and it is so clean!Rooms were very well sound insulated and full of thoughtful touches There was a stylish ceiling fan in our room and the windows open a little for fresh air

You are able to go to the country music museum next door for free; just show them your room key (It is a nice museum)Definitely recommend!

Nikki Ball

Our stay was incredible People can make pictures of places look however they want, but The Bristol Hotel looked exactly as the photos, exceedingly better even It was exceptionally clean and our room was beautiful

Cindy was working the front desk and she was such a pleasure She was very helpful, warm and welcoming Her personality was wonderful We ate Sunday brunch at Vivian’s Table and both the service and food were excellent I don’t have a single complaint with anything about The Bristol Hotel and even though I’m relatively local to the area, I will certainly be booking another stay here again

Sammy Bones

Nice hotel Friendly staff Rooms were clean

Hotel restaurant was tasty The only thing I would have to mention is the ceiling fans in the rooms must be on the same remote as other rooms So, your fan might get adjusted in the middle of the night by your neighbors, but other than that, it was a pleasant stay Beds were really comfortable also Overall a very good experience

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE HERE!! i fell in love with the town and this hotel was such a nice place to aid my experience of it i was just stopping through on my way from the east coast to KY, and ended up having a delightful experience in bristol the shower was so nice, bed was comfy, and then breakfast was so delicious as well

staff was very pleasant i would return here for sure 🙂

Not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in but definitely not the best for the price We chose it because of the location but probably wouldn’t stay again They advertise a pool but it is the smallest hotel pool I’ve ever seen

Their smoke detectors have flashing lights that flash ALL NIGHT long No one seemed surprised when I complained about this so at the very least they could warn you about this issue – horrible and unnecessary engineering/design This kept me and my kids up most of the night, the front desk was less than helpful when I asked for a solution Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast, heavy on the pre-packaged stuff I have several kids and needed extra pillows, they would only give me two and acted like they needed to ration them There are no suites at this hotel so we were trying to make due They gave a slight discount for our sleepless night but for less than a 24 hour stay for $150 w/taxes and everything I felt like it was not worth it

My wife and I have stayed here more than once when we are in that area We may have to go out that way one more time and more than likely will choose this place to stay for a night There were two full size beds in the rooms but we would really prefer one king size bed

They are a nice motel but they are not five star I will say the beds are very comfortable and I had a good night sleep there

Jose Ortega

The staff was super friendly and so check in was quick The room was clean and overall the whole place was quiet It seems that Red Roof INN places are hit and miss but this one was hit all the way

parking was pretty easy to get There is a lot pf places near by to get something to eat which is always great After being on the road all day, this was just what I needed

Dennis Holland

The manager said I booked a room with two single beds to entice us to “upgrade” to a king…with a fee no less I didn’t know till after we left that they DO NOT have single beds in any of their roomsDon’t believe the “Pet Friendly” statement

He charged us for both service dogs! Then he lied when contacted by my booking companyThe room was reasonably clean and comfortable…nothing specialAs many hotels/motels that there are in the Bristol area I would see no need for anyone to take a chance with this place

I really wanted to give this place a 5 Star Rating! The Marriott brand has become a name I trust when my family is traveling That being said, the Delta Marriott has all the “Curb appeal” and extra added touches! It’s very clean and they offer 2 queen beds unlike many other hotels we’ve stayed at that only offer 2 full size beds The only problem here (and it was a big one for me) is that the windows are so thin that you hear EVERY passing vehicle, we had to check to see if the windows in our room were left open

We had spent 2 days on the road and hoped to get a good night’s rest and unfortunately for me that was NOT the case I’m not a light sleeper so for those who are this is probably not the place for you! The customer service (Virginia)and the amenities are great, it’s what I’ve come to love about Marriott, but please consider fixing your windows and this would easily be a 5 star rating

Kia Clopton

This is a recently renovated hotel that still has a lot of kinks to work out It is aesthetically pleasing but beyond the visuals there’s much to be worked out I experienced a lack of hot water in the shower, a loud ac unit, and the windows are extremely thin so it sounded like we had the window open and could hear every passing vehicle

Christopher Graves

Well I’ve already written a review on this location I believe, but todays experience is worth another one I came back for the second time in a week traveling back and forth to NYC This time however my AC wasn’t blowing cold air

So I went down to the front desk and the maintenance guy was actually on location (would have figured they work a more daytime type shift and then on call) His name is Jerry He came up with me to my room and checked a couple things then went to the roof to check breaker and came back without being able to fix it Without hesitation he called down to front desk, had my room switched (which we checked first to make sure it was working) While I moved my stuff over he went downstairs to grab my new key and then brought it back up to me Thank you Jerry You helped solidify the reason I am ambassador with Marriott The level of professionalism and the genuine desire to help fix my problem was apparent the whole time This is what I expect and this is consistently delivered by the Marriott brand I think it’s easy to shout out the front desk staff, but sometimes housekeeping and maintenance and the folks that really keep these hotels moving are forgotten about On that note shout out to housekeeping too as every time I come the rooms are spotless and beds are made tight Thanks again Jerry!

My family and I stayed here for a weekend fishing trip and it was amazing The lodge is right on the river with a fire pit available The fishing was also next level

Andrew Bright was our guide and he was the best! My wife was new to fly fishing and he helped her learn and catch fish I could not have asked for a better guide or better accommodations Top notch, would 100% recommend the lodge and Andrew

Keith Sochor

hands down the best fishing experience John and his team were amazing extremely professional and cater to all your needs

they go out of the way to ensure you are having the best time possible what impressed me most was the first day we fished we received well over an inch of rain, they also had to release the damn for the first time in a month and a half when I woke up on day 2 the river was completely blown out, I thought to myself there was no way we were fishing today, but to my surprise the guides spent about 30 extra minutes driving around to find some fishable water and still managed to put us on 30+ fish if I could give 6 stars I would

Nick

Just an overall great trip, and easy From the airport pickup to the great meals to the well stocked refrigerators and of course the stable of really knowledgeable and fun guides that work with S HOLSTON You should add this to fishing trip list, but book early as they seem to be popular (rightfully so) and stay booked up a lot

Highly recommend!!

I LOVE this hotel The rooms are just okay after they remodeled Huge improvement, but I think the lighting is sterile feeling

That’s about the only down side The staff here is amazing I’ve stayed at this hotel for years, and they hire such good people Always so friendly Always so helpful I had an issue with my room one time, and the guy at the front desk didn’t hesitate for a second to give me a new room Then he immediately went to inspect the issue I had with the other room The older guy with the ponytail has been there for years, and seriously, he’s one of the best customer service people I’ve ever met The staff here really cares about making your stay as comfortable as possible I can’t say enough good things about them I always stay here when I stay in Johnson City, and I will continue to unless something really plummets downhill here

Julie Ann Howlett

I’ve stayed here twice and had a positive experience both times They are pet friendly, easy to find, and there’s ample stores around the area for any needs you might have It’s easy to park and tucked behind a large restaurant but not too isolated that you feel concerned you are too far off the highways

I stayed here while road tripping back and forth to Asheville Also, side note the beds here are really comfy Like really comfy I found them even more comfortable than other Sleep Inns I have stayed in before Positive experience and would definitely use again if I chose to 😊PS There’s a really cool backyard dinosaur place in the area to check out by a local resident (maybe 20 min drive away) Definitely worth checking out!

Anshuman Mehrotra

Very over priced for $100 room Breakfast is very limited, oven warmed frozen eggs and some sausage, no bread or jams or jelly, no cream cheese Milk is from jug which is only 0 percent and labelled as 2 percent

Cereal is fruit loops and one more kind and waffles with plan syrup Coffee is very weak The rooms have this musty smell along with corridor Good food places nearby I will not stay here again Our beds had a absorbent pad underneath with huge stains and bedsheets we’re crumbled Towels were not washed properlyAfter COVID this much lack to attention to detail

When we arrived our room wasn’t quite ready due to staff shortages Which we felt was understandable in these times The front desk attendant provided superb customer service, and was very apologetic

He provided updates as we waited I said to my family, “I bet that is Gabe” They said yes, and asked why I said because there were numerous reviews that mentioned the great service they received from Gabe As mentioned on those reviews, the IHG Corporation needs to take care of this staff member This is what makes you want to come back to this hotel, and this type of service is becoming harder to find Also the other staff that were working hard that night at getting rooms cleaned and ready were working super hard and very courteous I hope the upper management team is finding ways to reward these individuals

I have got to say if I could I would give them 10 stars 🌟 The staff is amazing The room was great

One of the nicest Motel 6 hotels I’ve ever stayed at The front desk attendant was very nice and helpful Plus it’s a pet friendly hotel with no fee or restrictions on the pets or size, which is one of the best amenities

The room was a nice size, up dated, and clean The bathroom was clean besides a few dog hairs in the tub My only complaint was the elevator smelled awful bad like urine, but that’s sort of normal and expected with pet friendly hotels

Andria Ragland

Pros: Friendly staff, safe location and close to a lot of places Decent amount of room and comfortable bed for the price Mini fridge gets very cold, and room was very clean with the exception of the bathtub

Cons: Bathtub had several questionable hairs left in and on it The piece you pull up on the bathtub spout that allows you to take a shower would not stay up It took me 10 minutes to get it to finally stay in place long enough for a shower, which is the length of time it took for the water to get warm, never hot I despise cold showers so this was my biggest issue Also, for the ladies, hard to put makeup on with the very dim lighting Not a big deal, but worth mentioning if you like to be precise with your makeup, bring a lighted mirrorOverall, not bad for the price if you can get past the shower issues

William Snow

Overall not horrible, stayed here before and was better last time but there was random hairs that weren’t cleaned upDrains ran slow and I investigated to find hair clogged drains that were disgusting Takes a long time for hot water

Would like a refund or a free night and these issues corrected for future people using roos and facilities

Where to start? The bathroom door has springs to keep it closed, so the bathroom is musty and smells it The light bases had a slight coat of surface rust and the mirror frame is either moldy or the silver paint is wearing off and showing a black baseAdditionally we had to lift the toilet tank cover off 3 times to stop it from running continuously

The last time, it was the filler tube that had come loose from the valve and caught on the floatThe restaurant was dark and looked unclean enough to discourage us from dinning in for either dinner or breakfast The hostess/server didn’t even get off her stool to greet us She just said that if we decided to dine in, just pick a table The menu was extremely limited and unappealing, so we left for dinner and didn’t even think about getting breakfast there On the way out of the hotel, my wife got a cup of coffee to go and wound up pouring it out before we left the parking lot after one sipThis hotel is in serious need of a refresh and we will not stay here again

Easy to find and very close to the highwayThis was just a quick overnight for us and the Hilton team went way above and beyondNot only did we get in a lil late, they were so kind and understanding, but it was also my husband’s birthday and they left a card in the room

Its these little things that make all the difference

It sucked, customer service was terrible, and the front desk ladies were extremely rude We had booked with breakfast, didn’t get it, talked to night manager, she added it back Morning lady, said no breakfast for the rate we were paying

So we didn’t get breakfast for our entire week long stay because of an employee feud between the night last and the morning lady Then when asking to get our room turned, we received stained dirty sheets We spoke to the manager and she called us a liar and said that the “executive housekeeping manager” had done it And that it was “impossible” Overall, customer service was terrible, rooms were dirty and the pool smelled really bad, not the Hilton Promise we were expecting Here we come Hampton Inn!

Here for a softball tournament The hotel was the host hotel but they were not very host like Broken elevator, out of towels at the pool, add a $250 fee if your kids our load during quiet time

Parking lot wasn’t the best The in house restaurant was understaffed and not many options Wayne the bar tender was amazing nice and polite Needed help running the restaurant and bar The lady running breakfast buffet came in on her day off was amazing also she had to cook and stock the buffet on top of cleaning the tables The hotel really drop the ball on this However they had so many front desk people maybe one or two of them could of help out in the restaurant or at least kept up with the towel and house keeping Our room never seen a house keeper we was in it for almost a week Trash was over filling so we went got a large bag to dump the trash in The room need so serious cleaning Found broken glass and other trash beside the bed and under the chair cushion The bed wasn’t level or very comfortable The remote work half the time The bathroom paint was cracking and falling down The bathroom was designed for kids not adults The counter was at way below waist and the toilet felt like you where sitting on the floor I’m 5ft10 so I felt like a giant in there The room doors don’t close alway until you pull them shut and check to make sure they close The little market they had on site was low or out of stuff

The entryway was very nice and the staff seemed friendly The parking lot was a little weird and seemed small for how large the place was The rooms were not as nice and the entrance and “garden view” apparently just means access to the pool

It would be convenient had I brought my bathing suit, but few plants were in sightWent to check out breakfast but it was going to be like $12 for a standard buffet unless you pre-purchased meal tickets with your stay (which wasn’t offered when I booked) so we decided to eat elsewhere Stay wasn’t bad but I think we’ll stay at the Holiday Inn Express like we usually do next time, at least we always know exactly what to expect like breakfast

We stayed here for 4 very long days and I would not recommend this place to anyoneDo not let the lobby deceive you It is beautiful, updated, and very clean but that is not the case for the rest of the hotel

There are two elevators in the hotel and only one worked the whole time we were there The buttons inside and outside the elevator were filthy, the hand sanitizer stations near the elevators were empty for all 4 days, we couldn’t tell what was on the floor… was it pizza sauce or blood? And the one working elevator, was very slowThe room we were given was right next to the elevators All night long, we heard the elevator going up and down, stopping at each floor and would bang really loud every time it would stopThe rooms have not been updated The bed was uncomfortable There was mold in the shower, and the bathroom sink didn’t drain It’s like everything was designed for shorter people If you over 5’5” good luckAnd finally, there is a restaurant in the hotel but it is only open during breakfast and dinner, and that is if the cook shows up The breakfast is not free, you actually need to add that to your reservation if you want it included Spend your hard earned money at a different establishment
