This hotel does not deserve the Hampton name At 7:30 PM, there was only one person on the premises, she was doing her best, but could not keep up The pool AND elevator was out of service, there was no soft drinks to be had, no vending machines and the snacks at the front desk were scarce

When we got to our room, it wreaked of cigar smoke If that wasn’t bad enough, when we pulled the sheets back, the top sheet was severely stained Since there was only one person on staff, my wife walked 3 flights of steps to get a fresh sheet and re-made the bed

Jeff Aylor

Got there late one rainy night after driving all day, they were packed due to multiple large events in the area The phones were ringing off the hook, but Janice at the desk handled it like a pro! I got the last room (thankfully someone had canceled) but it took her some finagling to get it right in the system Very professional and we were very thankful to have a place to stay

It was a typical Hampton room and breakfast Would definitely stay here again

This was perfect for a one-night stay at a cat-friendly hotel The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful We didn’t even notice anything about renovations going on while we were there

It was quiet and our room (double queen) was big and comfortable Enjoyed the hot breakfast served in portioned cups, which made it easy for me to carry back to the room A restaurant/bar is within walking distance (The Hitching Post) For a “No frills” basic hotel, it was very satisfying

I stayed at this hotel in December and again this week Both times, my credit card was being used fraudulently within 2 hours of swiping my card I used an old email address that was used by the fraudulent user

I can prove my information was stolen from this hotel I only stayed here because I have a dog If this happened to you, please report it to the DuBois City police

Stayed here on a Monday night with my two dogs They have two ground level cabins that are pet friendly Four bedrooms upstairs in main bldg are not

The Log Cabin was reasonably priced at $124 plus 20 for the dogs Showing a bit of it’s age in some amenities in bathroom, but that was okay Attractive 19th century decor throughout, but not overdone Quiet and pleasant, with small standard TV, wifi, and combination heat controlled from main bldg plus supplemental heat from gas fireplace for additional warmth and charm Living-dining space, separate bedroom and separate bathroom w jetted tub and stand alone shower Nice petite sized breakfast delivered to room between 8:30 and 9:30 Lots of sunlight with shutters open or darkened with them closed

A Hiker and a Paddler Michigan

We selected the Inn on the way home to Michigan from MaineA absolutely lovely Inn with , beautiful Garden and super neat Country store Absolute luxury…beautiful , romantic suite, the Lodge Suite , with whirlpool and comfy bathrobes

Our delicious breakfast was served to our room by Stacy…yummy french toast, fruit cocktail, warm, homemade blueberry muffins and maple butter and cooled juice Everything is there in the room to make yourself a lovely cup of coffee to enjoy the morning

Jeff Altom

We must have picked the wrong room according to some of these reviews After I saw the shower, mold and hole in wall, (see pics), I told my wife we could stay but I wouldn’t be using the shower After we went to bed, every time we would turn the light off something would start scratching in the wall behind the headboard

After three times turning the light on and looking for something, we packed up and drove to a hotel Do not recommend the log cabin room For the money we spent I expect a little maintenance in the rooms

Another perfect stay at the Maple Shade Mansion! (Romantic Valentine’s Day stay:)This impeccably restored, lumber baron mansion has been brought back to its original beauty and regal finishes fit for royalty Which is exactly how we’re made to feel every time we stay here, (over 2 dozen stays now:)!Yes, we love it that much If we didn’t also love the owners and management, we would try to keep it Brockway’s best kept secret

but both they and the mansion are too beautiful not to shareThank you so much for a home away from home, befitting not only Kings & Queens, but also making us feel as comfortable as family members… Don’t forget to take time to enjoy the incredible gourmet breakfasts!See you again soon!Ruby & Brian

Perfect in every way! It was our first time staying at the Maple Shade Mansion located on the charming main street of small town Brockway, PA Our first reaction was its breathtaking beauty

the gardens, courtyard, wrap around porch and overall restoration of this historic home Greeted with warmth and friendliness we were helped with luggage to the third floor where views were amazing and as you ascend you can’t help but be in awe of the beautifully appointed decor in every room and refinished woodwork in the banisters and floors Breakfast every morning and afternoon snack was five star! Hospitality at every turn, we enjoyed our stay completely and will return Thank you for making us feel so welcome and sharing your knowledge of the area Brockway is an American iconic small town walkable, safe, with an amazing public park Next time I will bring my bicycle and ride the Rails to Trails!

Matt Wright

NO POOL The rooms are great Super clean

The staff was FANTASTIC The breakfast was great and the dining area was clean, fun and well decorated My 3-star rating is based solely on the fact that they have photos on the website of a refreshing indoor pool, but when we arrived with our restless children we were told the pool was dry and had been broken for more than a year I understand some amenities in hotels have been unavailable due to Covid, but all of the fitness facilities were open The pool is broken and drained This should be clearly stated at the time of booking, not in a standard Covid disclaimer, but by removing the words “indoor pool” from the amenities list and removing the beautiful photos of the pool area

We stopped here after a long day driving hoping to enjoy a night at one of our favorite hotel chains We’ve stayed at many Homewood suites in the past, but this location refused to serve our family, informing us they do not have accommodations for families with six people Very disappointing

I recommend the Comfort Suites nearby if you’re looking for a family friendly choice, they were happy to accommodate us

This is such a relaxing stay Right outside is a lake with a fountain and a beautiful green patch The food served in the breakfast buffet is incredible with so many choices to pick from

It’s kid friendly in a way that the space is cozy and the menu serves well The staff are very helpful and amicable The rooms are decently sized but of course not all rooms have a good viewI would surely recommend it as a stop over if you’re travelling between destinations!

We had an amazing stay at the Comfort Suites in Dubois After being turned away from two nearby hotels because they could not accommodate a family of six, it was a breath of fresh air to find a hotel that was welcoming to us Joseph at the front desk was the most helpful, enthusiastic and attentive hotel staff I’ve ever met

He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant He checked in with us when we were at the pool and the business center during our stay, immediately addressed our request for extra bedding and was considerate in picking our room location The room with two beds plus a pullout couch was perfect – why are these so hard to find? The pool is heated with a very fun water slide, and the hot tub was giant and featured a waterfall – above average pool area! Hot breakfast was nice It was easy and quick to pick up dinner from the adjoining restaurant We will definitely be looking for more Comfort Suites when we travel and hope to find them as well staffed as this one

Rodney Rouse

Wonderful!! Aesthetically resort-like, the build of this facility was well thought & many extra touches were included To start, we were GENUINELY welcomed by front desk representative, Joseph OMG

over 1,000 hotel nights & I have never seen anything like it! Joseph is a jewel He was excited to have us as guests – you would have thought we were long lost relatives Choice Hotels should make a video & insist every new employee watch & model Joseph when greeting guests to their respective properties WOW! Aside from that, the facility is knock-out Guest rooms, pool, grounds, staff – all top flight Wonderful, full-out breakfast, as well Would stay again without question Tremendous value! If in the area, do yourself a favor – book a stay, you’ll thank yourself

Robert Parks

I’m rating the hotel 5 stars overall for the newness, convenience, cleanliness, etc My room happened to be on the ground floor positioned in such a way that cars pulling up to the office would be facing me with their headlights on The thin curtains are only designed to provide a sense of privacy, not block light

I felt like I couldn’t have my room light on after dark without the arriving guests looking straight in The hotel should provide full curtains on the ground floor rooms, particularly to the left of the main entry when facing the hotel from outside

Andrew Maddas

Very nice room, clean and they offered me a discount for being a hospital employee The staff was all very friendly and treated me well Free bottles of water were offered to me upon check in which was nice

4 stars instead of 5 only because the toilet paper was rough, cheap, 1-ply, and the bed is very firm Will definitely stay here again in the future

Jen R.

This is our second stay June 2022 and we are just as happy as the first time last year Clean, quiet, great beds Very very friendly staff

Complimentary breakfast has everything you want and I like it much better than some other included hotel breakfasts There is a great little bar restaurant across the parking lot which is very convenient We Will be back!!
