I could not possibly speak highly enough of Frances and Stephen and my incredible experience staying at The Amber Tree Inn They are both such kind, attentive, welcoming hosts and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable The Inn is beautiful, pristine, and has such a calming atmosphere

Last minute camping tripThe place was beautiful, clean and amazing hospitality There was so much for the kids to do and we were nestled in the trees It felt like real camping even tho I didn’t have to worry about a thing like food, coffee, showers because we were traveling

It gave the kids a chance to run around after a really long car ride Best traveling idea it sure beat a hotel

Pros for staying here: Location! It’s right across the street from Lake Erie, 2 minute drive to Barcelona beach where you can swim and collect rocks, the creek on the property is beautiful and def great for kids to wade in, pond is a short walk on property and the fish literally jump on the hook, wineries a-plenty, family restrooms (one was missing soap) that were mostly cleanCons: it’s noisy from the all night train passing by, and I-90 is right behind the campground (see pic with red arrow) Bring a noise maker or ear plugs if you don’t like those sounds

Otherwise it is a quiet campgroundIt’s not as kid friendly as they seem to make it sound The playground is outdated and was COVERED with carpenter bees They didn’t have a scavenger hunt when I asked, the man didn’t know what I was talking about They had maybe 2 banana bikes but didn’t look like anyone ever used them, we also didn’t see a game room that they mention The tent and pop up sites are grassy/dirt and if it just rained it is very soft and could easily be muddy so be aware when bookingI will say that despite those cons, the location more than made up for it

We like to stay close to the playground so our daughter can take off and play all day without us having to stay at the playground to watch her We called in to ask if we could get a spot close to the playground The gentleman that was originally helping us was great and trying to accommodate us

Lisa took over the conversation and rudely said they won’t assign us a spot We said we would like to just cancel as other KOAs will let us pick She got snippy that we wanted to cancel over that She quickly rushed us off the phone We were excited to go but now we have no desire to ever go back if that’s how the staff feels it’s acceptable to treat guests

Overpriced for what it was The hotel was clean enough, it does not look like it has been updated at all in decades though It is nice that they allow pets but I have been in other hotels that allow pets and you wouldn’t be able to tell that is how spotless they were

The night lady was not very nice, when asked if the juice machine would be refilled she said it was not her job Once day staff came on they refilled the juice immediately We also went here specifically for the pool- called in advance to ask if it was in working order When we got there the hot tub was down which is fine, we brought our kid to swim The pool was freezing, we could only stay in it for 10 min The next day the pool was warm but the air in the pool room was so cold it felt like the AC was on full blast in the middle of winter The same night lady that night said she couldn’t do anything about it and she will have to call maintenance later We also asked about if we could do late check out, of course we would pay now, so I could sleep in (I travel for work, and work overnights, so I brought my family with me to enjoy the pool) and she said she doesn’t have authorization so we have to wait until morning to ask the morning staff All around this one staff member was unhelpful and curt To make it better it seems someone sent housekeeping to knock on our door to wake us up at 11 a full hour before the 12:00 check out I defiantly will not be staying here again

Not worth $150 a night The overall cleanliness was not bad but it wasn’t great I’m thankful we only had to stay a night

The front desk lady was not very personable Plus she was dealing with personal business while I had to wait to check in I was not allowed to check in the two rooms I paid for The room never cooled down Stains on the carpet, the bathroom definitely had a “remodel” looked more like they put makeup on a pig and called it a day The pool had so much chlorine everyone’s eyes were red and in pain Breakfast was jimmy dean sandwiches you had to hear yourself For $150 a night these things should never have been an issue

Loula Williams

I tried to call and praise the lady who works nights for her kindness and understanding when doing business with me and my two kids late one night this month I was on my way home from packing my things and moving them back to where I live now I fell I’ll with a fever and your hotel was a life saver for us that night

A special thanks to the lady that works nights with the glasses and short hair cut My kids and I are so grateful you exist💚🫂

Quality Inn was not so QualityThey had a good amount of parking, they take dogs, and the room itself seemed fairly clean The man at the front desk was also friendly

However, the sink in our bathroom wouldn’t drain (like at all, the sink was full the entire time), the chair in the room had a leg broken off, the hallways were pretty dirty/tired and there wasn’t an elevator I would look elsewhere for a place to stay next time for $180

Elizabeth Brandjes

This hotel needs an update The room we stayed in was tired Cracked tile around the hot tub, stains on the rug and chairs

The room seemed clean, but so worn out it’s hard to make such a dump sparkle The fridge was not working I told the front desk and she didn’t seem concerned “Oh What room?” That was all The most concerning part was the back door was completely broken No security to enter Totally sketchy hotel And way overpriced Worst room I’ve had in years Such a disappointment

I have stayed here a couple times before This hotel is under construction They are remodeling so if you are averse to dust, materials scattered about, unfinished work, and dirty contractors walking around, then you might want to wait a bit before going here

My room was fine, well equipped, clean, and the bed was comfortable All the staff I met was courteous and efficient I will likely come here again I like the location a lot

Laurie Starr

This hotel is conveniently located with a potential good view of the lake However, the windows were damaged and fogged up so we were unable to see clearly Also, the bathroom tub was quite rusty and dated

The walls in our room were so thin we could clearly hear the guest in the adjacent room talking to his family The guest room and hallway need to be updated We parked on the side of the building nearest our room; the side entry was in poor repair and looked unsafe (although there was a note saying we were being recorded on a security camera) The check-in was easy and the desk clerks were very friendly

Salvatore Aversa

Advertises room service but has none Front desk said was able to charge food and drinks to room Restaurant said different

Waitress walked away from both me and the manager Was very rude and immature Wifi is either terrible or not working Rooms are from the 1900s Very outdated Waste of money Never coming here again Had no parking spaces because let’s anyone park in the lots Experience is terrible Advertises pool but has none I can keep going on But now I am checking out and going somewhere else to eat dinner
