We hiked at Turkey Run State Park for the day and had reservations here for the night It was so much fun Such a unique place

Patty, the new owner was very friendly and knew everything about the history of this place The jail cells were very clean, beds were comfy, and the winery downstairs was a blast They had so many cute decorations, posters and unique things in the Drunk Tank Winery

Very unique location in the basement of a old jail (now an inn) that was built in 1879 Good selection of sweet and dry wines If you lean towards the former, definitely try the grapefruit and blueberry

The grapefruit is subtle and smooth and it will instantly become a favorite; even if you don’t normally like grapefruit The blueberry is stored in bourbon barrels and gives it a kiss of bourbon flavor that is just right And don’t forget to sign your name somewhere on the walls or ceiling!

My Husband and I stayed here 2 times The first-time we stayed in the Country Cabin and had no issues, aside from noticing that the woman who runs it acted a bit weird We came back about 6 months later and stayed in the automobile room with no issues

The woman was very nice this time, no strange behavior Tonight, (3/16) my Husband and I attempted to come again We travel often for our personal business and needed a room I called and apologized due to the lateness (a little after midnight) I could hear that I had woken the woman up and felt bad She asked me if we were local? Can you only stay if you’re a local? What does it matter? Anyway, she agreed to give us a room I stayed in the car while my Husband went up to pay for the room I was tired from working all day and didn’t see the point in both of us having to go in The woman refused to open the door for my Husband She acted like she didn’t understand who we were or what we wanted I think she wanted to talk to me personally-What for? To scold or lecture me about how I woke her up? I was looking for a room not a lecture We left and found ourselves a much better hotel My comment is, if you are not going to make yourself available 24 hrs a day or at least somewhat late night then you are in the wrong business Put something online or on the website that states “No rooms available after 11pm, midnight” etci just thought it was so rude how the woman said to my Husband ” What do you want?” And refused a room to him What does it matter if it is my Husband checking in or myself? What’s the difference? Definitely not coming back Found a much better and friendlier hotel

My husband and I stayed here over the weekend Very nice place! Humble area, in general The woman in the office was very friendly and informative about activities in the area

She suggested good dining spots and the local play at the theater thereOur stay was quiet No issues, whatsoever It was so refreshing We will definitely return

Northeast Wildlife

Above and beyond The owners were some of the nicest people I have met I had some trouble with my truck and it was at the mechanic shop in town

The owners offered to go pick up dinner for me if I didn’t want to walk, and offered to drive me to the shop to pick up my truck If I could give them 10 stars I would Comfortable bed, clean, fridge and microwave, nice tv, and walking distance to lots of restaurants I couldn’t feel better about giving them my money which was very reasonable If I’m ever in town again this is definitely where I will stay Highly recommend

Primitive sites are nice, nestled into the woods We had the whole area to ourselves Quality firewood available for a decent price

Woman at the shop was niceDisliked the $7 deposit and $10 fee to reserve a specific campsite in advance Also there is a weird rule about only 1 tent per site even if you only have 2 people I think they should change that rule Overall a nice place, would return

Amanda McFarland

We came to stay for the week during the 3rd week of June We have a camper and we are staying at an electric site There has only been one other person here in the electric section and only a few primitive campers

It has been very quiet and peaceful! The showers/bathrooms have remained clean There are several outdoor activities such as basketball courts, volleyball courts, and a gaga ball pit There is a little general store/gift shop up front Quality firewood and friendly staff Right down the road from Turkey Run State Park We love this place!

Sydney W

Overall a clean campground with a well stocked general store Liked being able to go directly from the campground to the float trip $12 is reasonable for a 3 mile tubing trip where they pick up and drop off

My complaints are long Photos of place not up to date I picked a site specifically for the wood line to block morning sun but what appeared to be a newly erected cell phone tower blocked my site Also the wood line was 30 yards from the electric hookup and I only brought 1 extension cord that’s 30 feet long Figured it would work It didn’t Ridiculous paying $10 to reserve that specific site and then it being what it was Don’t pick site 30-332 night minimum is absurdNo grates on fire rings So don’t plan on doing any fire cooking unless you bring something3 showers stalls (3M & 3F) for the ENTIRE campground Have to hold a string to have water flowing– don’t get to pick temp Water was hot and I wanted a cool shower after baking on the creek all dayNo trails on site fyiProbably would return if there were no other available sites in the area but definitely not my ideal campground

Given the price, it exceeded expectations And hey, you’re right next to all the state parks this wayOwner met us half an hour after office normally closes for check in and was very cheerful about it

Room was tiny, but clean Shower was recently updated with nice tile and was clean and had warm water Only downsides: cigarette stains from years ago were detectable through the paint, and the towels looked like they’d seen better days

Don’t bother with the restaurant and just go down the road The website isn’t updated so on Sunday they apparently close at 7 as one of the servers announced very loudly just shortly after we were seated (6:45pm) Extremely rude since we actually did look it up ahead of time

It was not our fault the website isn’t accurate We are currently sitting here waiting on our food, along with several other families and have been here now for over an hour waiting (not even including the time before we ordered) I understand staffing issues right now, however what really ruined it was the rudeness Even if there had been a sign on the door, that would have alerted us to go elsewhereUpdate: Food was edible but it somehow came out cold after this long of a wait Turkey and noodles was not good at all Chop steak was tender and tasted good but also cold according to my husband Chips and fries were crunchy and good texture but cold Mac and cheese tasted good Not sure if our waitress forgot about us, but everybody else was waiting just as long as we were it seemed I even asked for her to bring out my 3 year olds food sooner than ours and they all came at the same time

Karen Seymour-Ells

The room and bathroom are clean and remodeled, probably the best state or federal park Inn I’ve ever stayed in Staff was super nice My one quibble is the restaurant

We checked the menu ahead of time and asked at the front desk but they failed to tell us that they would be buffet only on the weekend There were plenty of options for us on the menu, but almost nothing on the buffet Given it’s location, bring food or plan a long drive if it won’t work for you

Holly Baumer

This place, the staff, the park rangers, the management- 1st class! I would give it 11 out of 10 stars As Indiana’s First, smallest, and most busy park, I would suggest a week day trip if you can The natural formations are mind-blowingly beautiful

Great for families, romantic getaways, or a girls/guys trip And there are other parks and adorable small towns nearby! We loved the whole area! The Indiana DNR hit it out of the park again!!

If you want a beautiful, country setting, with awesome hosts, look no further than Granny’s Farm Bed and Breakfast! The setting is beautiful, the accommodations are clean and comfortable, and Judy and Sam are kind and considerate hosts This Bed and Breakfast was also very conveniently located for our Turkey Run trip I can not recommend this place enough! We definitely plan to stay here again!

Crystal Berhalter

The owners were very welcoming and kind! They made a beautiful display of fresh fruit, homemade banana bread, zucchini bread, and apple spice cake, as well as eggs for breakfast Judy also offered my son cereal and toast as well Everything was very clean and we felt right at home

The property was gorgeous with a beautiful view of their private pond We were very grateful that they were kid friendly, as many bed and breakfasts are not We can’t wait to visit again!

Robert & Michelle Arbogast

We had a wonderful experience at Granny’s Farm! We stayed in the private barn — perfect secluded hideaway in these strange times We loved getting away from home to enjoy a change in scenery It includes a small kitchen so we were able to cook our own meals as well

Granny’s is so close to Turkey Run State Park and we enjoyed early morning hikes to stay away from the crowds The sunsets over the farmland were gorgeous, too
