This is a very nice hotel I travel all over the country for work, so I’m constantly in different hotels, and this is definitely one of the better ones I’ve been in The rooms are very nice, comfortable, and kept very clean

The whole hotel is very nice and clean The staff are superbly kind and helpful, and will go out of their way to accommodate you The free breakfasts and dinners are great too It’s not fine dining, but it’s free and tasty, what more could you want? And the complimentary 3 drinks a night is a very nice touch, I always enjoyed myself at dinner

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking your hotel This web site will compare countless booking websites and typically will have rooms much cheaper than others! You’re welcome :)! This resort is the best rated in this area

I’ve been coming here for a long time If you stay for a few days you definitely will love it I’m sure!Absolutely loved staying here Lovely warm welcome We had a suite and it was fantastic, rooms were big and had everything we needed to feel comfortable Complimentary food and 3 free drinks each Would definitely stay here again

A.N. Explores

The people that work here are so so nice and friendly They’re happy to help if you need anything Definitely made our stay that much better

While the rooms could use updating (replace chairs, & carpeting) the rooms, beds, and bathroom was spotless The beds were very comfortable I was so thankful to have a very clean room The shower has a wall hanging pump for body wash, shampoo and soap which was nice as well as a blow dryer Mini fridge and microwave inside the dresser furniture piece A good hot breakfast & dinner buffet, 3 alcoholic beverages included during the dinner, & there’s fountain sodas I don’t drink but they were so nice to make us virgin margaritas and it doesn’t count against your 3 drinks card Pop corn wasn’t good and didn’t have any butter or flavor, would be great if they could get some buttery popcorn for the next visit The hot tub has some powerful jets which felt good, and a large swimming pool that goes from inside to outside There’s a pool towel area inside to quickly grab a towel I felt very safe staying here, it’s a nice area We will definitely be back when visiting the area again

Staff was super friendly and helpful Hotel is in a great location and off of the main road, so it feels like a “getaway” The pool was fantastic

They have a basketball court and even will provide you with a basketball, which made my kids very happy Room was spotless and quiet Bathroom was spotless and the water was nice and hot with great water pressure Thank you for making our trip wonderful!

Robert McDonald

Pulling up the place looks great Nice building and grounds Check in and lobby are nice

Staff is amazing, very welcoming The bad is the rooms They are dated and dirty We had just drove 8hrs on the way to the beach and needed to stop for the night We let our twins play on the floor after checking for anything laying around After 20 mins they had black feet and knees So time for a bath Tub needs resurfaced Overall it’s OK, breakfast was great They just need a little help with cleaning and some updates Beds were clean and comfortable Flood light outside bedroom was odd but blackout shades worked well

Tim Grass

The suite was spacious and clean Seconds away from groceries, Starbucks, gas and more The staff was extremely friendly and helpful

The complimentary breakfast was better than many other hotels Pre-maid egg omelettes with veggies, sausage, potatoes, fresh waffles with chocolate chips or walnuts or strawberries, pastries, cereal, grits, etc A great stay

Overall, I had a great stay at this hotel The location is great – near lots of restaurant and bars (you can just walk) My room was very spacious, nice and comfortable; and had everything I needed

I was happy to have a kitchenette that included a full fridge Even the common areas were very nice and cleanThe only reason I didn’t give this hotel 5 stars is because the breakfast fell short It just wasn’t that good to me Perhaps, other guests feel differently In the same breath, you’re so close to everything that you can just walk to a breakfast destination I would definitely stay at this Homewood location again

Bathsheba Johnson

I’ve stayed here twice, the rooms are absolutely beautiful and the staff is the friendliest I have ever had! However, the room I had last night needed more cleaning The shower wasn’t very clean in the corners and there were smears on the wall near the bed that I’m going to call chocolate The couch had some stains also that I forgot to photograph

Regardless, I enjoyed my stay and will stay again

Kristine Hansen-Dederick

The hotel itself is nice, but expect zero customer service Only folks I ran into seemed pretty lazy and bored Didn’t seem like too bad of a job, so not sure what the problem is there

Location is great and the rooms are spacious and quiet I can’t get past the bad attitudes though and probably would not stay there again It’s too pricey for that BS

Terrible stay! The room we stayed in was horrendous n honestly a waste of my money! There was hair everywhere from the bathroom to the bedroom The toilet had pee on it, there was a ring in the tub n it was clogged up badly! Food bag was found in the closet The hospitality was poor, had to ask for clean towels

This is suppose to be a 5star hotel, I honestly could have stayed somewhere cheaper n received better room service n so on 👎🏽

Melanie Metzger

Very friendly front desk employee The hotel is in need of updates badly The rooms are old and out dated

The TVs are tiny and ours wouldn’t work correctly Only like 5 channels on our TV worked The breakfast was awful All of the hot food was cold and we were down there before 9am Their juice machine was out of juices The pool closed early and opened late (this was the only reason we booked this hotel) On a weekend most hotel pools are open until 10 or 11pm Theirs closed at 8pm We stay at least 25+ nights a year at hotels and this was a first Our room was clean at least

David Brown

If I could give this negative stars I would My friends and I have been staying here every year during the Barber Vintage Festival and in this same hotel And it always been pretty good

This year over 3 nights stay we got no room cleaning and I still had to go downstairs to get fresh towels To top it off, they quoted us a good price for all 3 nights When we checked out they were unable to print out our receipt so we left and waited for an email receipt They only gave us the better rate one night and charged nearly double for the other 2 nights Even after being on the phone for hours they wouldn’t budge So unless you like getting robbed in a dirty hotel, don’t stay here

Rooms were very clean and smelled good I love the wall thermostat so I can set the temperature in the room Maid service was great but the front desk could be more organized

Great breakfast; sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, cold items, muffins, and the best cinnamon rolls EVER! The pancake machine was out of order and the coffee had grounds in every cup They really need to teach the kitchen staff how to make coffee They have nice places to sit outside and outdoor pool, handicap accessible It would be nice if the elevator buttons were wiped down ever so often Other than that we had a good stay

Shanta Singleton

I checked in a little late, but received a friendly attitude and a smile from the gentleman on dutyAfter such a long day it was a nice thing to seeThe rooms were nicely appointed, and the hotel was very clean

It seemed like a nice areaThere is a Dunkin Donuts ,and 2 gas stations within walking distanceThe only small Con was the breakfastIt was just okay I wish there were more optionsThey had sausage, small omelets, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and you could make pancakes if you would like for Hot optionsOverall,I was very happy with my one night stay, and would stay again if in the area

Overall stay was pretty good The A/C in the room could have been a little more cooler it was kind of muggy The bar was great, the bartenders were friendly especially the woman on the weekend with the darker hair didn’t get her name

The breakfast was amazing 😊 The breakfast staff are great and heartwarming ❤️, especially Lisa, Loretta and Jen They always gave great service and did a great job taking care of the breakfast buffet Thank you 🙏

Ralph Andrada

The staff here is very polite and welcomingThe breakfast is very good with an excellent varietyRoom I was in is clean, spacious and very welcoming

Has that nice traditional hotel feel that I loveSo far in my life I’ve never had a bad experience with a Hilton HotelIf I’m in Birmingham again, I will come stay here again with no hesitation

A.D. Moulton

Stayed here for a weekend with my family in 2 separate double rooms Staff was friendly and accommodating Breakfast buffet was nice although about $17 per person, with the buffet you have people still serving you drinks (coffee and water) so I’m sure a large portion of that is the convenience fee

My room was clean, had a small issue in my bathroom the first night, hotel resolved within about 10 minutes Would recommend! Tons of really nice restaurants around as well

Very nice hotel and staff Very clean, rooms are very spacious A word of warning though and only reason I didn’t give 5 stars – if you’re someone with long hair plan on an extra hour or two to get ready if you’re showering

The water pressure of the shower is super weak, it’s like a trickle If you have long hair it will take about an hour or two to rinse the shampoo/conditioner out of your hair

Kris Macchiarola

This hotel accommodates pets (which I did not know) The hotel should have designated rooms for people with pets vs people without

My room smelled like animals and triggered my allergies immediately The staff did their best to improve my experience, but it wasn’t enough because every time I went back to the hotel, my symptoms would worsen

Jessica Modic

My husband and I stayed here for 4 months, so we know ALL the details The staff is amazing! They truly go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to make it feel like home Yonas brought all of my packages to my room, Nick always grabbed my garbage and towels outside my door, Desiree made sure the housekeepers even used my non toxic cleaning products! Larry made sure anything I needed fixed got taken care of and Niemah (prob spell wrong) is top notch in taking care of all hospitality services! So blessed to stay with this crew and we are sad to leave!

Great customer service Clean room Wonderful, central location

Parking lot fully lit and safe If ever in Birmingham again, will definitely stay hereAn aside, the hallways and elevators are very warm and humid Definitely a turnoff, as was trying to get the room cool enough We were told this was due to a new system installed that pulls air from the outside – not great when it’s July in Alabama! Overall, though, very pleased!!!

Marquita Gibbs

This hotel is beautiful and in a quiet area When we arrived and checked in, there was an issue with our room Nelson at the front desk accommodated us quickly and made sure we were comfortable for our stay

The breakfast had many options and we were very pleased Kelsey and the main cook were very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of Their hospitality made celebrating our special occasion an even more joyous event Definitely recommend this hotel

Bill Fortenberry

The hotel personnel were amazing They were very professional and friendly Unfortunately, the building itself seems to be suffering from some structural issues

There was a large dip in the middle of the floor of our room, and the floor of the bathroom was so off level that the toilet lid would not stay up and the sliding door for the shower would not stay closedWe at breakfast at the hotel “restaurant,” but we would have been better off eating somewhere else There was not a free breakfast provided, and we would have had no issue with paying for a decent meal, but the food was the exact same fare that we would have gotten for free at any other hotel in the area It was also annoying that breakfast was served an hour later on Saturday than on FridayWe did appreciate the fact that the clientele at this hotel are mostly business leaders as opposed to vacationers The hallways were very quiet, and we did not have any disturbances during the night Overall, it was a good stay, but I don’t think we’ll be back given the structural problems and the lack of a real restaurant

Very friendly and welcoming staff Hotel is in very good area for food and dining options The only problem is accessing this site during afternoon/evening rush hour traffic

Room was clean and everything worked Linens were clean and plentiful Very comfortable and quiet, I was surprised due to the fact when I checked out at 03:00 the parking lot was packedThe only thing I have an issue about is that my Choice Privileges account isn’t showing up Hopefully it will and I would gladly return to this hotel

Monica Cumberbatch

Very nice experience Claudia (Claudine?) at front desk was very pleasant The beds were very comfortable and I had a great night’s rest being tired traveling through many states

I got to the coffee station just as they were taking down breakfast and the lady was so kind to help me get my to go breakfast before she started Many other places I’ve stayed I’ve experienced much impatience and a lack of acknowledgement The room(s) could do with an upgrade but overall Great job Comfort Inn!

Harrison Slusser

If I had to describe my stay at this hotel as fair I stayed here with my local church for Motion It was not among the worst of the worst of hotel stays that I have been on

After waiting for our room, which is understandable due to the difficulty of acquiring workers in today’s economy, my leader and roommate found that the room was clean It had a microwave and a minifridge which is a nice amenity However, I do have some complaints The stained sheets, smoke smell, damp room, and occasional cockroaches in the tub were all things that I might be able to overlook My main issue, that was also shared with the rest of the group, was with the employee who prepared and served the breakfast They did not act professionally in their workplace I personally caught a lot of flack for the breakfast rush that she apparently encountered on the previous day Me and my leader came down for breakfast and they asked me if there was anyone behind me I struggle with hearing people sometimes and when they spoke to me I did not hear them so I said, “Sorry, I did not hear you” Their reply was to look at the employee next to them and exclaimed, “See, that’s just how these kids are! Disrespectful and rude” They later stormed off to the breakfast prep room when met with two more tables and slammed the door behind them I’m not sure what provoked them this morning but I hope that it is only her experience from yesterday that she is still bitter about I do hope it is that rather than anything else that might actually be worth slamming a door on some kids who wanted some breakfast before they headed out for the dayAll in all, these are the only issues I had and I was able to get some rest in between the two nights I spent at the Motion convention I wish you a great rest of your day, and I pray that that employee is given some peace and patience

The place is priced too high for what you get We stayed Sunday-Friday for a work trip where my husband needed a comfy place to lay his head The shower doors wouldn’t stay shut

We had to use wash cloths and whatever else we could find to hold the doors shut while we froze half to death It was that or let the whole bathroomFloor be soaked and risk fallingThe bed was comfortable though My children slept on the sofa bed and it seemed to be ok for themThe room was over 700$ for those days and we didn’t even have a microwave Just a fridge that held like 4 water bottles :)The floor around the sliding doors to go outside (where there wasn’t even a chair to sit in to enjoy the birds and the bees ) stayed soaked Unsure as to why but if it’s stayed wet I’m sure there’s mold somewhere in hereThe location was pretty good Out of the more chaotic areas and across from a gas station and target

Randy Stiles

Made reservation days in advance requesting courtyard 2nd floor Upon arrival was told had a room on the first floor that they had overbooked I have stayed at this location for 59 days and am a Platinum Elite member which I am having a hard time understanding why I can not get the room requested or a return call from the manager and have not receive a response

Old hotel, dirty, one elevator and incompetent staff on problem solving

HiLiz Hernandez

I’m a crew member so stayed here for work Getting there was nice Location is nice, everything was good until my room didn’t have a tv remote and to make it worse, the tv wouldn’t turn on manually

Ashley at the front desk supposedly tried looking everywhere and all rooms are occupied so no one found one in the entire building Unfortunately my 4 star rating went down to 2 for this Aside being an airline crew member, I also work at a hotel There was trash in my trash bin when I came in Somebody else’s trash in a supposed clean room is really unsettling Not good First stay, if it wasn’t for work I wouldn’t stay here

What a gem! First time at a Valley Hotel, love what Hilton has done w/the brand Valet service was convenient & Rachel H made check-in a breeze Accommodated my high floor request without hesitation & was thrilled with her room choice

Thanks Rachel!Room had floor to ceiling windows, corner view & the bed was very comfortable Still has new hotel smell! The restaurant was very good, breakfast was excellent There’s also loads of dining options right outside (Highly recommend the Little Donkey Mexican just 2-doors down!)If only there was a pool…Highly recommend staying here!

Tokyo Blues Man

We had one of our nieces’ wedding rehearsal dinner there and many of her future in-laws and friends were staying thereAfter the rehearsal dinner, some of us decided to go down to the lobby on the first floor to sit and talkWe were not particularly being loud or obnoxious or anything

Just sitting at a hotel lounge and having conversations just like hotel guests would do Then the lady at the front desk yelled at us as if we were her students and she’s our teacher, saying that we were being too loud and that we need to quiet down because she can’t hear customers on the phoneWe didn’t say anything the first time and tried to talk little quieter Then, after about 10 minutes, the lady yelled at us again saying that we were being too loud Once again, we were not particularly being loud or obnoxious at all Just having some conversationsI just never had that kind of experience at any hotels anywhere – a front desk clerk telling (yelling at) guests to quiet down at the lobby I mean isn’t that what hotel lobby is for? For guests to sit and have conversations? Then, I tried to talk to her to see what is going on but she would not talk to me by saying that she’s too busy talking to her customers on the phoneI tried to politely ask her who’s the manager on duty is but she would not give me his/her name or the contact information – I guess I can look it up myselfBy then, we all decided that it’s not worth it and just went up to our roomsI asked her name but she kept on waving her finger while she’s talking to someone on the phone and walking away from me She was hiding her name tag with her arm so I couldn’t see her name eitherIt’s probably one of the most unpleasant experiences we’ve ever had staying at a hotelI actually don’t want to give any stars at allThe management needs to train the employees better Where is the customer service We were not there to serve them It’s the other way aroundDo not stay at this hotel

Richard M

Had dinner at the restaurant off the lobby called Ironwood kitchen Food was just ok, nothing special but the cost was extremely high for the meal Three of us with no alcohol, ran $200

00 The service was adequate Save your money as there are so many better restaurants for dinner in the area Stop there at the bar for drinks as that did look inviting

Breakfast selection was excellent Normally hotel breakfast is difficult for those of us with food allergies, but the Drury hotel offers so many options that I was able to have a great breakfast In the room, my two favorite things were the pillows (soft, but supportive) and an awesome shower

Love the angle of the shower head as well as the water pressure Indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub was enjoyed by many guests Next time, I’m bringing my suit! This hotel checks off all of my must-haves for a hotel and at an affordable rate

Judy Lanier

The entire staff was was friendly and welcoming The General Manager, Melanie, loves her job, and it was obvious that she loves the Hospitality Industry She made us feel so Welcome

The food was good, and we enjoyed talking with several people that we met We will definitely visit again We are locals who were getting a new roof on our home and decided to take a 2 day break while roofers were there Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Adrian Bee

We had a great stay Mattresses were actually comfortable and pillows were nice and fluffy We did not partake in the dinner and drinks provided but we did do the hot breakfast and we were quite impressed with the selection

Because the indoor pool was connected to the outdoor pool, the indoor pool was a bit chillyOverall, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend!

My stay here was pleasant The staff is very matter of fact and no non sense You ask for information and they will provide you with the information when it is available

I only stayed here one night in a double queen room The view was nice I had to shove the door open when coming in but the room was clean and comfy Nothing impressive but all the amenities were accurate and the room was cleaned Breakfast is nothing fancy but I enjoyed the waffles The gym has disinfectant wipes, towels and filtered water If you need something basic and to the point, this is your place

Anthony Johnson

Stayed here for the last two nights and there is a lot to like about this place Beautiful architecture, nice rooms and great location Could have easily given them 4 stars but their front desk personnel had attitudes and in some cases were plain rude

I’m a lifetime Diamond Hilton Honors member and there is a fine line between being a good hotel versus being a great hotel And until the Owners and Management of this hotel require warm customer service this place will always be just a “good” hotel

Don’t get it twisted, this hotel is not worth your money Clogged drains, cracked sink, cracked toilet, no refrigerator, AC wasn’t working right, very tiny rooms I travel all over the country for work and this was absolutely the smallest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in

Street parking is a pain, not the safest area at night either I found the hotel staff to be kinda rude in general Nothing about this hotel feels historic except maybe the view from the street They serve breakfast on the top floor, so I went up there at 7am and it was 80 degrees in that damn room It’s basically the same terrible breakfast as any other Hampton Inn, but add 10 degrees to the ambient temperature No cold milk or cream at the coffee station, no milk in the fridge, and no fridge in the rooms either Good luck if you stay here I booked 3 nights and dipped out early just to get away from it My best guess is they don’t have the money or staff to properly service the place, but if you’re gonna charge $180/night you better get your act together Beds are so squishy the sheets come popping off Congrats, you’re the worst hotel I’ve been to in 37 nights at Hilton brand hotels in the past few months Now comes the hard part, put some money into this place and make it right Historic shouldn’t mean run-down

The stay wasn’t bad The staff was friendly The breakfast was alright

The hotel needs some updating, hence the 4 out of 5My phone call to book the room was the most horrible experience ever I think they use a third party, at least for when they’re busy If this review was only based on that, I would give it zero stars When I was done w the phone call I was angry and exhausted They took 15 minutes and kept trying to get me to sign up for a bunch of things Plus they were super pushy and when I asked how much the room rate was she made me listen to a whole spiel for 7 minutes before she would give me the price I can’t explain it, you just have to call at a busy time and see for yourself

Read the reviews prior to booking THEY ARE LIES Do NOT book this hotel

1 The room door handle came off in our hand2 The air conditioner leaked all over the floor (3rd floor) Yes The floor under the air conditioner was saturated and we witnessed water dripping down the cord We worried about mold3 Dirty bedspread and holes in the blankets4 The hallway carpets are FILTHY5 The room, hallway, and elevator smelled like smoke6 Mold in the ice machine Obviously we did not useThe kicker was…when we nicely went back to the desk and asked for a different room and listed off the issues the owner was summonsed and stated before we could be given another room she had to see how much of the room we had used WE HAD JUST CHECKED IN!We did not have time to change hotels as we only had one half hour to spare until we were due at the Miss Alabama competitionSeriously Save yourself Do NOT book this hotel

Truly a special and unique place! As a return guest, we are just as awestruck at the loving attention to detail as the first visit We have lived all over the world and found Hassinger Daniel’s mansion one of the most unique places we’ve found Sheila has curated a gorgeous mansion filled with exquisite antiques filling every room each telling a different story! We loved the Southern Belle room filled with beautiful antique gowns -see if you can find the hidden wedding gown

Truly a memorable experience sleeping in a living antique filled mansion And Shelia’s gracious hospitality is not to be missed at a lovely morning Breakfast family style together We will be back again!

Let’s start with some of the negatives I’ve read in the review section… I would personally say that most of those people that complained did not pay attention to the style of bed & breakfast this is when they booked or they just like tarnishing a locally owned business’ reputationThat may sound harsh but Sheila works very hard (you can clearly tell) to ensure that people there feel welcome and comfortable She can tell you so much history about the building, surrounding area and even the city

She is very sweet and accommodating No this is not like a Holiday Inn No this is not like an air b&b or even a regular b&b That’s what makes it a fun and unique experienceThe room was great just don’t expect every commodity a hotel room would have That is the exact reason you chose this place though right? That’s what makes it great It was unlike any other stay I’ve experienced The place as a whole is very secure and I felt very safe during our stay and coming and leaving the mansion The interior was also very refreshing and visually pleasing each time we returned from our adventures (dinner, concert, bar etc)The location is also centrally located in Birmingham and pretty convenient Plenty of restaurants and shops are walkable but our particular agenda had us driving 5-10 minutes each time which was still very convenient Parking is slightly tight in the available parking but I don’t think that it’s unreasonable Again, this is a very unique property There’s not a giant hotel parking lot waiting for you hereOverall, I find it hard to write anything negative here because I am happy to see a hard working person such as Sheila do so well at something so special; restoring and preserving a mansion ALONE (her & her husband started this project together but he has since passed) and doing a damn great job on top of that We loved our stay and will definitely return if we find ourselves in Birmingham againTHANK YOU FOR THE SERVICE YOU OFFER SHEILA!-you deserve a 50 rating on google not a 43-don’t listen to the people who just need something to complain about guys, this place is a cool & fun stay-it will not have the same setup as a typical hotel but is in my personal opinion just as comfortable and more enjoyable

Belle Paniagua-Novak

Such a beautiful place to stay! I stayed in the Peacock room last night and it was lovely The bed and sheets were so comfortable! The breakfast was DELICIOUS! This was my first time ever at a B&B and I loved every moment of it The wifi was very fast and easily accessible as well

I highly recommend a stay! Next time I need a break from home I’ll be checking in again 🙂

Based on previous experience (2 years ago under another brand) I did not get what I was expecting The exterior of the property looks welcoming but the rooms are a nightmare The rooms are dark, gloomy, and smelly

In 9 days on property there was only 1 good housekeeping experience Some of the team members are AMAZING, very cordial and personable but others are the exact opposite The locatiin is central and makes it easy to get around This is definitely not the same hotel it was a couple of years ago

Stayed at Sonesta on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2022 I love the location of this hotel, it was within the area of our visit to Birmingham It was quiet, security was provided, as well as extra security locks on the room doors

Our room was very comfortable, very clean and smelled nice, even though the furnishings were a bit outdated The bed was comfortable and we had extra pillows that we requested online Candy, who was on the front desk when we checked in was exceptional She is engaging, knowlegeable of her job, and very professional She made our stay nice right from the start even before we entered our roomAnd, lets not leave out Whitney, who checked us out the next morning She was also engaging and professional as well This hotel was a surprise to us, we hadn’t heard of the brand but took a chance It is located in a quiet area right off Interstate I-65 with plenty of places to eat There is even a Walmart in the area (which is a plus for me) I will definitely stay at Sonesta Homewood in the future when I am in the areaPS Thanks Candy for your help when I called late night on May 11 And, she even greeted me by name over the phone before I even began to tell her why I called or who I was Even with Caller-ID, I probably would not have remembered the name of a previous guest Like I said, personality Plus and attention to detail!!

We had a room reserved and had pre-paid for today 7-27-22 They called at 2 pm today to tell us they are canceling our room as they were overbooked for the room type Didn’t offer to change room typed as we had a 2 bedroom suite

Had a unrefundable room if we canceled but they didn’t offer any comp from their canceling Had to get our agent to get our funds back as they said they wouldn’t issue the refund Very sad to start our trip this wayOnline an hour later the room was back on for more than double what we were charged We did not book here again and went to another hotelI don’t know how to reply to your response But it was your hotel and we were not able to stay there It blew our trip expense out of the water if we were to rebook at your location Your whole system has not been a help at all

Here for one night There was a member of staff learning to make towel animals as we were checking in I made small talk with him and after we returned from dinner he put two in our room

Very good staff at this hotel The room was clean (had an odd smell in the room, but it wasn’t a bad smell -it might have been a cleaner or something)I would stay here again

Book for my son’s college orientation (go Blazers), the staff(housekeeping, front desk and security) are super friendly and helpful Our room was nice( coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge) The bath area can be a little tricky, if you are a lady and have to shave your legs, there is no where to prop your foot up(know your flexibility limits)

Restaurants are in the immediate area( We tried J Wing’s eatery, they were pretty darn good)

Demetris Butler

I’ve always stayed at this hotel since they opened for business, and never had any issues until now Over the past years I’ve noticed the decline of the upkeep of the rooms I stayed one night and woke up to bites on my my upper and lower arms

Upon inspecting the bed that morning it was bed bugs I was horrified that this hotel does not value the safety and cleanliness of rooms for their customers I hope they take their complaints serious and try to improve with the cleanliness of the rooms Breakfast was ok nothing to get excited about The area don’t bother me, convenient location for track meets I would not be staying at this hotel again, nor do I recommend!!

Spent two nights at this hotel and was pleased with my choice The room was clean and spacious I will say the sleeper sofa was the most uncomfortable thing ever

I ended up making a bed on the chaise lounge part of the couch with one of the dining chairs for my feet Luckily I’m short so it worked out perfectly with a great view of the tv The lobby/breakfast had plenty of seating that was not on top of the next table I didn’t try the breakfast but it appeared to have a good variety The little market had your basics too The location was great for me as it was walkable to restaurants and most important for me, at least one local coffee shop The best thing about this hotel was definitely the staff Every single person was super friendly and so helpful These days customer service is not always pleasant, but it is at this hotel!!

Kerry foy

Stayed here at Residence Inn for 10 days on a business trip The service was awesome LaTara was the first person I met to check in and she was so kind, courteous and helpful throughout my entire stay

All the hotel staff was amazing! The room was excellent! The breakfast was very good and the staff preparing it, made it extra special Thank you

Jamie Cook

Nice rooms other than the water damage in the kitchen I loved the two bedroom suite option which made sharing a room with my parents much easier Breakfast is amazing and service was incredibly friendly

The location is nice if you’re visiting a student from UAB and is also located within walking distance from a lot of quality restaurants and bars

Staff was great The kitchen counter in my room had been previously-broken and a repair attempted, which the staff was aware of, but it was still relatively dangerous I suggested that a sticky note at the repair site would prevent someone from cutting themselves on the sharp break

Other than that, the room was fine The shower was fine Everything was fine with the exception of the parking spaces, which might be OK for cars, but Way too small for working trucks and vans If you drive a Dually, you’re going to take up two spaces even if you are considerate Worse, there were several “hoopty” trucks intentionally parked across multiple spots, further reducing the number of available parking spaces Quite a few trucks were actually parked out on the street That situation alone will make me stay elsewhere despite the friendly staff and having liked the property in general, both of which are a big reason for repeat business If not for the parking, I would have given it a 4 If not for the dangerous kitchen counter, I would have rated it 5 stars

Ryan Wilson

Let me start with the positive The room was clean, comfy, etc And when staff was at the front desk they were great

There were two issues with this hotel One I think can be fixed fairly easily and the other would be more difficult First, I came down to the front desk several times in my two weeks stay at different times throughout the afternoon and into the night The front desk was often unattended Two times during my stay come to mind the most First a co-worker arrived super late, like 3am Nobody was at the desk and he called me I came down to get him in the front door and we waited 15 minutes or so before the representative showed up The next most annoying time around 745pm, my card to get in my room wasn’t working I waited down by the desk for about 15 minutes again – this time with someone else attempting to check in There were plenty of other times but those were the two most annoying I understand assigning multiple tasks so the employee isn’t sitting idle, but ignoring the phone and not being able to do basic tasks like check people in or assist existing patrons is a problem at this location While I give the cleaning crew an A, I’d say management needs better processes for the front desk to ensure customer satisfaction I very likely will choose a different hotel for my next extended stay in the Birmingham area

Kevin Rene

Front desk staff is friendly, rooms are dated but extremely clean, which is refreshing when staying at an older hotel that hasn’t been remodeled Rooms are equipped with energy saving tech so make sure to read up on that, info is provided at check in Room has two burners, dishwasher, microwave, full fridge, and garbage disposal

Clean and soft linens in bath and on beds!Gym is large and clean with every piece of equipment you could want, laundry room has free washer and dryers (4 of each), small indoor market in lobby, as well as business are with computer and printer, they do not offer breakfast, which is fine since you can conveniently cook your own or pick something up in the well stocked on site market by the lobby or at the neighboring Dunkin Donuts There is also an outdoor covered gazebo with seating, tables, and two grills Parking lot is L shaped around building and somewhat limited if hotel is fullOnly complaint is that the toilet seat was cracked when we arrived and it kept pinching our arses 🤣 Just not something we wanted to address during our visit! If you order food or anything online, make sure to let your driver know Candlewood, because Holiday Inn is next door and our driver apparently couldn’t read and delivered our food over there! 😧
