The staffs are very kind and was helpful when we asked for recommendations on where to eat Rooms are clean and spacious Super quiet which is what we love

Location is also nice, about 7 min to the beach Caution, this hotel doesn’t have an elevator so if you need help with going up the stairs, do ask for 1st floor My mom had issues with going up the stairs, so one of us had to stay behind her in case she falls Other than that, we would stay here again

barbara nunez

The staff especially Sandy & Scott were outstanding Stayed in King room which was spacious & decor was flavorful The front & breakfast area layout is inviting

Sat there had a few drinks while watching hockey One of the most enjoyable hotels we have stayed in Doesn’t have a pool but have an ocean surrounding u Will definitely stay again!

We rented a two bedroom, one bathroom cabin The floors were dirty upon walking, our socks literally turned brown after walking around for a few minutes The beds are largely uncomfortable, please go somewhere else of someone in your party has chronic pain/illness, they will be suffering

For people of color, warning: there are a lot of confederates here I’ve seen various versions of the confederate flag here and I’m uncomfortable go about at night Stay safe, but don’t let them ruin your fun eitherOther than that, the cabins themselves look cute I suggest renting a go cart ahead of time as they go quickly

This has become my home away from home It’s very clean & well equipped It’s like renting a little house

My mom & I look forward to it all year We make coffee & breakfast in the morning, sometimes grill out in the evening You can sit outside & have coffee or eat your meal & if you want to swim in a pool instead of the ocean, they have another property that you can do that! The ocean is only a 10 minute walk away though It’s so lovely, the best location & best staff anywhere They have my heart ❤

Crystal E

I love this place! We stayed a while back for my daughters birthday weekend We had three adults and two teens It was just great friendly staff, clean unit, comfortable beds

You can’t beat the location in proximity to the beach and shops, I skated all around the area in the am and it is just the best by far! Told my family about this place many times, I think we are going to do a group trip and use them again We didn’t cool, but we used the fridge it is defiantly a useful asset to have on vacation… especially with kiddos!

Definitely a budget style motel The rooms were OK but the doors are hard to use They were hard to shut and hard to open

Front desk service was good They do have a pool at the location but it’s kind of small however they also have barbecue pits available for use in the pool area They do have breakfast available but it’s only waffles and cereal with some oatmeal and fruits I did like the location of the place because it’s kind of away from everything else but not far away Helpful when it’s really busy during the summer months and holiday weekends Makes it easier to get back to hotel It’s also literally located next to a domino’s pizza

Kat

I have stayed here for several years every time I’m in the area Rooms are always clean, secure, and perfect for what I need (a place to sleep) Breakfast is decent, and check in/check out are quick and easy

I’ve reserved ahead of time and same day with ease I’ve only ever had an issue once (noisy neighbors past 2am) and it was taken care of quickly when I called the front desk

Ralph Pinkston

Booked three rooms for our stay Upon inspection of the rooms they all smelt moldy, the bedding was damp all three rooms towels were dingy and far from white, none were folded like in the hotel pictures One of the rooms had crumbled pop tarts in the window and brown mystery spots all over the bedding! After showing pictures to the front desk they graciously gave me a different room however, while the room appeared clean the floor was dirty, there was zero light in the bathroom and the tub did not drain after a shower it took 30 min for the water to go down

Moving to the exterior, trash was everywhere! Every trash can was full and trash was pilled in heaps around the trash cans Lights around the property were broken and some flashed on and off like a horror movieAs for the beds, they were actually really nice however, while one of the beds linens were white the second bed was noticeably two shades off Also I was shocked at how many dogs were on property, many off leash! Needless to say we were glad that we had packed ear plugs as the dogs would bark at any noise or individuals that passed byStay away! Spend the extra $20-$30 and stay somewhere nice

Ethan Muller

The location was great it was a short ferry trip to port Aransas Beach The service was great too But the room was not the best although the beds were clean the sink bowl was cracked and when you wanted cold water it was a little stream of it and If you wanted hot water it came out a lot faster but that is the only problem we had

Overall a good place to stay on vacation or business

Darrian Bertrand

Hotel room was dirty (something sticky all over the desk and hair all over the shower curtain) and the bathroom ventilation was poor (even with the fan on, within a few minutes of the shower being on the whole bathroom was soaking wet and there was moisture behind the large mirror in the room) This was probably why there was a strong musty smell Breakfast is also only a yogurt or a frozen sandwich, which has to be requested at the front desk

Not terrible for a night or two, but I wouldn’t want to stay there any longer

Keith Lewallen

The heater didn’t work in the hotel The first night i spoke to the the gentleman about it and he confirmed it wasn’t working and he tried two other rooms but they didn’t work either The toilet wouldn’t shut off and the water was running the whole time

We had to use the hair dryer to help heat the room where we could sleep We woke up for the free breakfast but it’s not on, contrary to what is reported on the hotel site You are given a breakfast bag with a muffin, a fruit cup and a granola barTerrible customer service and the manager was never there and wouldn’t return any phone calls They never offered a room that had a heater that worked or any compensation NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Great hotel Great location (2 blocks from the sand) Good service

Good (free) breakfast including decent coffee Shower head was located high enough for tall people👍Great pizza place located 1 block away (Port A Pizza) Comfortable bed and sheets Nice pool and jacuzziTwo things for improvement:1) Shower needs better water pressure2) There are 2 trip hazards on each side of the bedSpecifically: Metal rods protrude from the sides of the bed (about ankle high, 3 inches long) These things can be extremely painful when you don’t know or forget they exist Especially deadly at night when you can’t see them

John K

Great hotel, polite staff and clean comfortable rooms We did not eat breakfast there so I can’t comment on that but the staff were cheer full and very helpful when we stopped to get coffee on our way outThe beach and several restaurants were only a short walk away

I highly recommend

Craig Torres

I’ve been staying at HIE’s for years and actually stayed at this location several times Decided to write a review after my most recent stay due to the staff going out of their way for a loyal customer My family and I left a basket with several items after our last visit

When we realized it we called and the staff was kind enough to set our items aside as we were returning in around a month When we got back into town our first stop was a good one as our items were recovered, just as we left them When we come to Port A we often stay in a condo for long term stays But anytime we are here for just a few days we stay at HIE and always thoroughly enjoy our stay

I am including the good part as well as any negative part of my experienceThe outside is vibrant and welcomingConveniently located just a few blocks from the beach

A very easy and safe walkThe room I had with 2 queen beds was largeThe stuffed chair was very very dirty as in we wouldn’t use it kind of dirtyThe tile floor was in desperate need of a good moppingMy feet were blackHowever, when I called front desk and spoke to Susan, housekeeping was quick to respond and remedy the dirty floorThe bathroom is super tinyThe bathtub is old and stained, the water pressure in the shower was mediumThe room had a micro wave and a mini fridge both of which were cleanThe hot tub is small but clean and the temperature was perfect making for a very relaxing eveningThey have breakfast items to choose fromI am a person who has zero tolerance for racial prejudiceOne of the housekeeping staff named Lisa, was very prejudiced against her coworkersShe is entitled to her opinion however, she was too comfortable in sharing her views multiple timesShe took the same approach to telling us her personal life difficultiesI am a paying guest on vacation I have no need to know her electric is being shut off or she is facing jail time, or any other personal infoShe has so much negativity oozing from her that it projects a negative energyWe tried to share the thought there is always something to be grateful forShe is not a person open to being encouragedI feel this was our biggest drawback from the whole experienceI would visit again this time I would be more mentally prepared for such negativity from one human being

Brian Payne

If it weren’t for the location, this place would be 1-star Absolutely outrageously priced, hotel staff left dirty and used cleaning carts outside our room the entire time, and the room looks like a shady roadside motel in some nowhere town that’s never been updated This place serves the purpose if you just want a location within walking distance of the beach, about half a mile, but for the price you should get 5-star accommodations and service

This place is a dumpster fire

Ryan Flanakin

Old man is extremely rude and unhelpful Was yelled at for trying to get breakfast 5 past nine He was extremely rude at checkin when there was a minor technological issue with the booking info, the manager saved us

I wouldn’t come back until the old man passes or they provide a better breakfastThe rooms are huge and the pool is great those aspects definitely exceeded our expectations

We stayed there for one night, despite the hotel is very calm! Love that …Front desk- Stephanie was very welcoming and helpful, awesome job!Room was very spacious we got a king size and was very comfortable as well the pillows The pool was clean they provided us with extra towels Breakfast was included in our stayed that’s a plus and it was a variety of things wich we really enjoy, definitely recommend!

Amy Lilly

The lady working the breakfast area was wonderful She kept everything clean, fresh and very tasty with good hot options every morningRoom was great, clean and very comfortable

Our dogs had lots of good clean areas to do what they needed We even used the pool this time and enjoyed it!Only issue we had was getting checked in We got there a couple hours early and was told room wasn’t ready, no biggy since we were early anyway We came back at 3:00 at regular check in time We were surprised to be told it still wasn’t ready Since it was 3:00 we went ahead and unloaded our bags We waiting in the empty lobby (no other guest were there) We finally had to ask around 3:30, when would our room BE ready Apparently the girl at the front desk was more concerned about her conversation with the friend she was visiting with (same friend from early attemp to check in) The manager heard from her office and came out We explained we were exhausted from the long drive and just wanted a room We finally got in a room about 4:00

Angela Casanova

Well we were just really coming to sleep but for the price we paid it deff wasn’t worth coming to our room from a long day at the beach and our bathroom shower had no shower curtain Our room is muggy the thermostat doesn’t work I turned down the AC unit but it’s still not cooling the room The head boards are dirty and the lamps are dirty

The lady at the front was nice Other than that I just don’t think it was worth the money we paid

The receptionist Lily was lovely and so helpful joined us on the loyalty scheme very chatty and very happy to be of helpGood breakfastBeautiful pool and area good piped musicJust one small thing we thinkthe room had been remodelled but there was no hanging space and also in the bathroom a really disgusting towel rack which was completely rusted and falling off the wall!

Jose M

6/21/22 6/24/22 I can’t understand why would you remodel this place? Nice try trying to hide the mold that exist in this place90 percent of the room was remodeled but who would think a rusted towel rack would be of use Why would room service pick up our towels but won’t replace them or fix our beds? I was stuck in the elevator for 10 min and my daughter’s friends pushed the button from the outside to get the doors to open

As you walk into this place you smell the mold floating around So how long has this place been getting remodeled ? I’m not the kind to complain but after arriving to out room after being out in the sun all day I sure did not want to walk into a place with my sheets and covers on the floor I was so upset I packed up and drove home a day early I didn’t care what time it was I needed to get out of this place and drive back go Houston

Joe Ortega

Absolutely loved this place The staff was great, friendly and went out of there way to accommodate to my autistic child needs The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable

They had a hot breakfast every morning Coffee 24 hours in the lobby amd free laundry Pool had a waterfall and was very relaxing I will absolutely stay here again and recommend it highly

This was a great place to stay Cottages are clean and very nicely decorated We had five in our party, and we’re very comfortable

Kitchen was fully stocked and we were able to have fresh seafood in house Great location, walk to all the shops in town, and just 5 blocks to the beach They even have a pool my grandson enjoyed Matthew made checking in a breeze Definitely recommend, and definitely staying again

Eric Hopkins

Honestly, at first sight online, this place looked a little

shady But I gave it a chance because it fit the specifics I was looking for when it was time to reserve a room When my family and I arrived, I was surprised at how cute it actually is We had such a great time there, I just wish we could’ve stayed longer Just a short walk/drive to the beach AND to the strip in the opposite direction What made it better is the fact that “Matthew” made us feel right at home He was extremely friendly, funny, and informative Thank you so much for your kind hospitality! We will definitely stay there again the next time we’re in town

We enjoyed how big the room was and that they had a little kitchenette with dishes, pots and pans etc The breakfast options could have been better but it worked for my family When we checked in the front lady said they were very short staffed so to get towels if we needed them

The pool can only be accessible through the outside but again it worked out Very good rates and only 25 min away from our destination at the beach

Maria P. Bell

This wonderful hotel is unobtrusive but wonderful Our room was huge, clean, and thankfully on the ground floor The breakfast is great and you get to make your own Texas shaped waffle

We even had biscuits and gravy on Sunday Even though you’re in a small town, you’re only 20 minutes from all the sights Holly made us feel right at home and gave us great local advice Give her a raise!

Lovely Deanna

Pros and cons mixed feelings for sure Justin and Jessica for the front staff are super helpful and kind The other lady I am not sure if she is the manager, but she had an attitude about checking in with my family and also when we asked about cleaning… room service did not come during our whole weekend stay

The hotel rooms layouts are nice and spacious, but needs to be cleaned all around, dishes were dirty, ac was dirty I wore white clean socks and literally were black from the floors… The breakfast was fully stocked throughout the whole breakfast hours, and simple

Morgan Wright

Great location and pool Nice that breakfast is included, but know it’s average There was a stain on the sheets, room was maybe lightly cleaned before we arrived

Wasn’t sure any of the linens were replaced Bring your own pillow if you stay here They provided two per person, but they’re as flat as a pancake Another thing that was bothersome: The motel says it’s smoke free, but people staying there would be smoking right outside the rooms, so still smelled like smoke We stayed two nights and housekeeping never came into our room to give us new towels/replace toilet paper Upset to spend $400 for two nights and have no turn around service We did go the Saturday and Sunday of Sandfest, so I understand increasing the price, but definitely wouldn’t stay here again You live, you learn

Sheri G

Great place to stay in Port A Close to everything, nice, pretty new, and very clean More amenities in the room than I was expecting for the price

This will be my go-to hotel the next time I visit Would totally recommend So about the clean: Things can look clean and aren’t of course, so I ALWAYS do a thorough wipe down of all surfaces, remote, switches etc, with Clorox wipes every hotel room I stay in Usually, I am pretty disgusted by what the wipe looks like when I’m done, but not here I was amazed at how not dirty they were If you don’t normally do this, after you do it a time or 2 somewhere and see what you’ve wiped up, you will always do it But I was very pleased by how clean my room actually was when I arrived The hot breakfast was typical, but extensive Waffle maker, little pre-made omelets, sausage, hashbrowns and of course a variety of muffins, bagels, etc Everything was fresh and hot when I arrived

Carol Warkoczewski

Great roomClean Great, hot breakfast! No fresh fruit, but everything else

Nice outdoor, covered seating areas with grills Nice pool with cabana-like seating areasVery convenient walk to CVS, beach stores, decorative beach buggies across the street I spotted roseated spoonbills in the marsh area next door, with other wading birdsFUN!

Nice staff, room very clean Toilet didn’t flush fully Manager told me about a screw you have to adjust to raise the tank water to the appropriate levels

They should’ve already had that properly installed They delivered our breakfast in the mornings Oh, DO NOT TAKE FOOD TO POOL at night Several different kinds of roaches will be in your food within seconds Our $30 pizza was opened just long enough two grab 2 chairs across the pool, came back, had at least 6 big passed roaches on it Other than this, we’d stay here again for $100 bucks less a night Nice room, great staff

Tabitha Bailey

They are always so friendly and take the time to ask how u are and talk to u The rooms are always clean and the air conditioner is usually on The pool is clean and refreshing after being sunburned

I booked a stay on priceline ( non refundable) and when we checked in they didn’t advise the hotel that it was a junior suite The clerk Jocelyn took care of our needs with a smile She’s a wonderful person and her customer service skills are outstanding

Corporate should be happy to have her on staff As usual the property was clean and well kept Every one there was very friendly and helpful They really make you feel at home Just a couple of reasons that we stay there every year The location is perfect for us Close to grocery and department stores so you don’t have to pay tourist prices for everyday essentials A five mile drive puts you at the ferry landing then your off to the sand I’m already looking forward to seeing everyone next year Thank you for the amazing stay

Great Stay! Rooms were clean and spacious for our family of 4 Nice Kitchen Full size fridge fit all of our groceries

HEB is just a couple of blocks away Beds are SUPER comfy Loved all the amenities, especially free use of washers and dryers Nice pool Great quiet location Short drive to ferrie Staff were all nice and friendly We will be back!

Samantha Thompson

The hotel appeared super newly renovated with nice modern art and updated facilities Front desk people were always friendly However the cleanliness of the room was unsatisfactory

First thing I noticed was a brown smudge right in the middle of the white bed spread (pictured) Next the bathroom floor did not appear to be cleaned as there was some caked on brown something stuck on the floor in front of the sink The full length mirror was covered in nasty spots and dishes for the kitchen were in the dishwasher still dirty The thing that was probably the grossest was in the shower, (attached is a picture), the hand held shower head was covered in hair It was like someone half-a**ed the cleaning of the room

The staff are overly friendly and professional anything you need they will accommodate your stay

The rooms are well kept and the beds give you the rest you need for your travel literally a home away from home Breakfast was good, the morning attendant warms up your breakfast sandwiches I wish we could stay longer but we have school and work duties

The kids really enjoyed the free breakfast It was conveniently close to Corpus and a lot of great restaurants They were upfront about being low on staff and how housekeeping needed to be requested

My only complaint was the ant infestation in the kitchen area and how the lock on the bathroom was broken Otherwise, it was a nice stay

First and foremost, I have never felt the need to post my views about my stay whether I enjoy my stay or disliked it This hotel was clean and is at a great location My only complaint is some of the employee’s on the facility

Like mentioned on a few reviews posted already, the breakfast lady is rude and obnoxious Myself and my family felt as we were bothering this lady at the breakfast area everytime we needed something She was not only rude to me, but also to my kids I believe this old lady’s name is Nancy (as to what her coworkers kept calling her) This older lady has an attitude, mean and talks down to people If you’re wanting any breakfast from this hotel, your going to wait until you find this lady and until she is off of her phone She always seems to be mad at the world anytime you come across herThe hotel is clean the times that I’ve been there And there’s other employee’s that are friendly and helpful My only suggestion is stay away from the breakfast area if you are wanting breakfast There are other nearby restaurants that you can go and have breakfast that aren’t too far from the hotel Which I think is a great location as to where this hotel is located at

I am a stand-up comedian of over twenty-five years experience and I was doing a show this past weekend in Port Aransas, TX I was looking for a room for the night nearby and I found the Sleep Inn & Suites in Ingleside, TX And all I can say is, “Wow!” There are a number of hotels in the area, but I’m so glad I found this one

You walk through the front door of the lobby and immediately get a taste of everything the Sleep Inn & Suites has to offer Across from the front desk, you see the large dining area where they offer their free fantastic breakfast You can also see their impressive workout room as well as signs that point to their other amenities like an outdoor pool, laundry room and business center A fax and copy machine are also available I was only their for one night and wished I had more time to take advantage of everything this place had to offerThe room was really beautifully designed with plenty of room for luggage and still space to move around comfortably A large bathroom, such a plus, that offers all the bells and whistles a weary travelers is looking forAll these things by themselves would be enough for a five star review But here is where the Sleep Inn & Suites goes above and beyond When I entered the room I found bottles of water and snacks waiting for me But there was also a hand written note from Karen She is the Operations Manager at the Sleep Inn & Suites and also the woman I spoke with when I booked the room While on the phone I mentioned I was a comedian and in town for a show The note from Karen read”Welcome! Hope the show is great! Enjoy your stay! Karen”As I guy who spends a great deal of time living out of a suitcase, I can not tell you just how much something like that is appreciated As a person who makes his living talking for a living, I don’t often say this But I was speechlessThank you Karen, your staff and Sleep Inn & Suites

What a wonderful place to stay! Tammy was so kind checking us in, and answering all our questions kindly The Cottage from the outside made me make an assumption the inside was going to be outdated What a wonderful surprise

It looked newly renovated All new furniture from ceiling to floors Very clean, and a very great place to stay for one day or even 6 days plus comfortably A+++

Kimberly Beckham

We stayed in one of the cottages and we loved the retro vibe! Super clean and super comfy The staff was just the best! The house cleaner heard my kiddo playing with the hand soaps and made sure to bring her an extra couple and it just made her day! The location is perfect, not too far from the beach and super close to some of the best places to eat in town!

Kelly Donnell

We stayed two nights in the large cottage (2 BR) It was very comfortable and was an excellent alternative to a hotel room It was quiet, and even though we didn’t use the pool, it looked fantastic

The bathroom is very dated but it was functional! My only complaint is that the bill doesn’t actually explain what they are charging “resort fees” for I feel that there should be one price – a nightly rate – then add the tax – and that’s your total I feel that “resort fees” kind of take advantage of the guest Overall, I’d stay here again
