Me and my boyfriend stayed here and the pool was amazing Actually 5 feet deep which is always my favorite part of hotelsFront desk was so so so nice and accommodating

Went above and beyond to get our rooms ready I’m usually nit picky with hotel cleanliness but this place impressed me how clean it was We will definitely be returning but the next time we’re booking the fancy jetted tub and fireplace suite

Sarah Rose

The staff was great! We loved the pool and hot tub The pool wasn’t ice cold freezing so it was nice to swim in Breakfast wasn’t anything fancy but coffee was good and gave us something in our belly to start the day! The hotel was clean and overall for the price it was good

My main issue is the beds They were so uncomfortable We all had issues sleeping and woke up sore I would stay here again if they got new beds

Brooke Garrett

We were in town for a wedding and picked this hotel based on the location The staff was very friendly and the room was cleaner than some expensive places we’ve stayed The room was what you’d expect from a budget hotel and it could use a few updates (there was an outline where artwork used to hang on the walls)

But it was quiet and the bed was comfy, so we were able to get a good nights sleep Would definitely stay again

My family had a wonderful experience!! We rented cabin 2 and it was very well kept! My kids really loved the indoor pool! We will definitely be staying here again! I added pictures from cabin 1 which has a single queen bunk, and pictures from cabin 2 which has 2 twin bunks, the pool area and one of the public showers by the pool Very reasonably priced and super friendly staff/owners!!!

gammatammi

Called to make a reservation and the girl who I talked to was a SPEED TALKER! I had to ask 3 times what she was saying, I said slow down your talking so I can understand She must have been in the bar as it was noisy and she seemed to want to get off the phone and not give any information! Won’t even try to book a site when someone can’t take the time to give information

Andrew Eichinger

The place has HUGE potential The restaurant and bar are a nice touch The owners were very nice and friendly

Would love to own a place like this and really bring it to life Very close to the highway even at 100 feet up, but very unique It’s a fixer upper, landscaping and paint job, but the pool makes up for a lack of nearby lake or river

They list a pool and hot tub as an amenity while booking but its empty

There’s also no breakfast as advertised The shampoo/conditioner were used before, not tamper safe so you’re lucky if someone before you hasn’t messed with it I also left an item in my room that the owner said he’d mail back and didn’t They basically run this as cheap as they can, I wonder if they wash the sheets

Madan Kundu

The hotel is located about 10 miles away from Iron mine if that is the reason to travel to Iron Mountain This is a good hotel for solo traveler The room was clean, the carpet seems pretty new

I arrived after 1:00 am, and I did not have easy check in Further, breakfast was non-existent There was only one full size towel in the bathroom

andrew ebbinger

🤬🤬🤬🤬 This is the worst place I’ve ever stayed while on the road traveling for work!!!! No pool, no hot tub, no breakfast! The outside garbages were so full they were overflowing into the parking lot The rooms stinker! Sheets and pillow cases were dirty Couldn’t even get a microwave in the room

Was supposed to sleep five with a couch and no couch religion forced on you and your values I didn’t pray with the owner Jon and almost got kicked out of the hotel These owners are absolutely crazy! They even call the police on people for smoking in the parking lot Be careful before you get scammed by these people They even over charged us on the room saying we damaged things and smoked and we are non smokers! Good thing the courts solved all the issues Slum lord hotel owners! Beware Beware!!!

Rude customer service They charged my account a $250 smoking fee when I never smoked in the room I feel confident they continue to take advantage of people in this sense based off of discriminatory views

I’m a smoker, I have been staying 6 weeks in this establishment, it doesn’t even make sense that I would start that behavior 6 weeks in The company I work for has paid much money to stay at this joke of an establishment Upon discovering how they take advantage of people I’ve requested our company switch accounts to a more trustworthy business When confronted the receptionist ,Jennifer said there was evidence, after saying she had none So heads up people, cleaning services be goin through your things and taking photos Like privacy? Desire a stay free of bother… DON’T STAY HERE…… Waste of time, energy, and money Oh

Worst experience in a hotel ever, completely ruined our summer vacation We had planned a UTV trip with friends months ago The week we went was incredibly warm and humid

Our room, 225, was like a suana We tried switching rooms, the front desk sent someone up during the day, called us and told us the problem was solved Walked into the room that evening – not solved We ended up canceling our next 3 nights and stayed at the neighboring Holiday In

I used to do work here once a month and now I deliver to here often Nice hotel Next to a bowling alley and a dispensary

Rooms are a good size and the beds were fairly comfortable Staff is always friendly 3 stories with one elevator and stairs Has a pool and fitness room Not sure of the price but I would recommend it if not too steep

Marc Crawford

If you are in the area, this is a good place to stay Check In was fast and easy Staff is friendly, helpful and professional

I asked for a late check out and there were no questions asked The rooms are clean and look great They are the same as any other Holiday Inn Express The free breakfast is good Lots to choose from Since COVID, no Holiday Inn Express has had bacon for breakfast Pool temp was a little cold, but felt good after being in there for a few minutes I will stay here again if I am in the area

I cannot begin to express how terribly managed this hotel is The most recent example is as follows:I had 2 employees spending the entire months of march, April, and may and in that time there was NOT 1 single week where they got the reservations correct The latest ineptitude was that in person, face to face, I spoke with Jen and I told her I needed 2 rooms for the following 2 weeks she assured me she would take care of it

She then confirmed with me via text that the rooms were all set The following week there was just 1 room booked Again in person it was confirmed that that we were all set again for the following week that there would be 2 rooms for the week Showed up Monday and there is only one room Throught the course of the 3 months when booking 2 rooms got charged different amounts for the same rooms, this place is a logistical nightmare I hate to say that upper Michigan public schools are a failure but dealing with this hotel leaves me little hope for humanity Amazingly bad

Please folks, my wife and I stayed at this place in Sept 2017 for one week The pool was closed then and it will never re-open until a new owner takes over The staff that we had in Sept were all wonderful they do their best to the please the owner

The hotel has many issues and is undeserving of even one star Until the owner decides to sink money into it and improve it – your best move is disregard any review that indicates the place is deserving of any stars

Terry Doyen

We checked in on 7 apr 18 and the trash can out side the main door was full, and the person at the desk was new and had no idea what she was doing The lobby and hallway smelled really bad and our room was worse and the room needed some much needed repairs We went and found and their hotel

When we told the desk clerk we were not staying here for the above reasons he cancelled out rm and didn’t charge us He was very apologetic We had stayed here many times before and it was never like this Sorry but we will never be back I have a had time even giving this place one star

Fine for a budget hotel It might be a little expensive compared to other options in town Staff was polite

Room was OK Pool seemed green/cloudy and at least the area smelled strongly of chlorine We let the kids swim for a bit because they were looking forward to the pool, but we kept it short and showered after Breakfast was basic and fine to get us back on the road quickly

G_in_training 1

The staff is great very nice and accommodating, but the hotel and the guests are horrible! The walls are thin and you hear everything! People try to smoke in their room and set the fire alarm off 3x since I’ve been here They slam doors and yell all night long I know it’s not all the hotels fault, but you get what you pay for! I was forced to stay for work

I rather sleep in my work truck!

Heather Varner

If i could leave a negative star review i would! It started out with us making the booking and being told 1 rate that included pet fee and taxes, but then when checking in we were given a whole dofferent rate that was nearly $40 more!It was already late and we were tired so we just went with it But then we get to our room

It smelled like mold! And the smoke alarm was dangling from the ceiling! We turned around and left Told the front desk we would NOT be staying and will be speaking with the manager in the morning and disputing any charges with the bank if they dont refund us as the room is not inhabitableWe ended up staying at the comfort inn down the street and we are very happy with the service from there

Why a FIVE STAR review? Because for $55 a night, it rates five stars The rooms are oldish, but very clean, the king-size bed was comfortable (might say perfect), parking to unload and load was very convenient, but most importantly, this hotel is ONLY EIGHT MINUTES minutes from the Timber Stone golf course Expensive golf and cheaper hotels go hand in hand, and this motel fits the bell perfectly

The ski hill, patrol & rental staff were greatThe “resort” was mediocre at best We waited 1 hour 11 minutes after check in to get a room we didn’t reserve

Called directly to make sure we had a first floor condo, room was on the second floor Stayed two nights, one was a “regular” stay the second was a “ski & stay” Lift ticket counter said we were not in a ski and stay and charged us for lift tickets Room was over charged by about $100We ended up spending far more than was quoted We had stayed in the same room the year prior, hence specifically asking for a first floor room Issues which we had suggested needing addressing were not I get it, I’m sure there are plenty of things that need attention as other reviews stateDishwashers are not magical clean everything devices Most all the dishes left in the “clean” dishwasher were disgusting The dishes & kitchen utensils etc are sparse and could be easily upgraded with a trip to a thrift storeWe will likely return due to the skiing amenities with small children, however, it will NOT be because of the hotel amenities or serviceThe worst part about it is the excuses As a paying customer, I don’t care about your new system, the take over by a larger company, the people who were in the room before me, the cleaning staffI could have been offered something to feed my children while we waitedperhaps a soda or glass of water Nope, just excuses Excuses which were then followed up with empty promisesTotal bummer Pine Mountain

Monica Gruszka

We have been coming skiing here with our family for a few years The staff when buying tickets is always quick and helpful The guys in the rental area are always super helpful and always give good service

We have brought friends skiing with us they always complement how nice the guys in the rental area are They really are good about making sure you are comfortable in your ski gearMy girls have taken some ski lessons with instructors and they have always been super happy with it The whole resort feels very welcoming and comfortable, we feel at home here! The Famers restaurant is excellent and serves great burgers and drinks I had my first Old Fashioned here and till this day it’s still the best!

Paul Zurek

I took my family for a trip to International Ski Jumps weekend at the resort We had such a great UP vacation, the kids got ski lessons, we watched the jumps, we swam in the saltwater pool twice a day, we got new hats from the ski shop – they had so many cool styles, we had a ton of fun without leaving the resort Everyone was so extremely nice too, it was honestly like staying with friends

The manager, Missy, gave me extra cookies for the baby, the custodian was cheerful and held the elevator for us when we were way down the hall, the ski school gave my kids one-on-one attention even though we paid for semi-private lessons, these are little things but they added up to make a giant difference The staff was so awesome, I’m not going to complain about a thing

Disgusting Filthy Nasty

Floor looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks There was a strong smell in the room Went to check out the pool There was wet food all over the floor There were chucks coming off the walls Some nasty film floating on top of the water We had checked in, and asked for our money back within 20 min The only reason I gave them a 2 was because they didn’t argue when we asked for a refund

Peter Matijevich

I have never asked for my money back from a hotel before today Room and hallway floor dirty and smelled like a barn We opened our window and went to the pool to air it the room out

There was “stuff”(,really not sure what) floating around the edge of the pool Like a path flowing in a circle Food on the floor of the pool area Guy at desk tried to bkame a pool party on the mess Did not explain the room smell and dirty floors all over Son was crying 20 minutes is all we lasted Drove 3 1/2hrs Will never be back to this place

We stopped for the Friday fish fry It was after 8 pm and they were slammed on the Friday before Memorial Day We waited for only 15 minutes to be seated, and we were shocked at how quickly we received our food

The breaded cod, walleye and shrimp were spectacular It was worth the drive Great food and great service It was worth the drive

Karen Bruesewitz

Our visit was for Sunday lunch We ordered the Sunday special: half chicken, coleslaw, and choice of potato salad, French fries or tater tots Coleslaw was crisp and tasty, my fries had salt and another tasty seasoning, my husband’s tater tots were little pillows of crispy potato, and the chicken was fried to perfection

Very tastywould highly recommend

Geri Verburgt

The 1st visit, I had the meatloaf It was dry and no flavor Husband had beef tips, also dry and chewy

Thought we would give it another try Big mistake Waited an hour for our food in a freezing cold bar The prime rib sandwich was dry and no au jus The nachos chips were stale and the meat was dry I didn’t eat any of it We won’t go back
