Our family has been coming to WeWanChu Cottages for 35 yrsThis year was exceptional Our group numbers 30-40, 3 generations

The facilities were in good condition Improvements have been made to many of the cottages this season Owner Peter and his staff Dave, John, Ann and Brandi were attentive to all our needs and requests Cottage were immaculate Indoor pool is a nice feature, in addition to beach, volleyball area, and basketball court Great fishing right off the dock Our family rents a fishing boat yearly, and Pete’s fleet of rentals are well maintained This is an excellent choice for a family lakeside vacation

Really nice/clean rooms, staff and breakfast (Get the strawberry pink parfait in the fridge; You’re welcome!)The reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the walls are a bit thin I could hear everything upstairs and next door to me

Pack a white noise machine and you’ll be fine And the ice machine on the second floor was not workingGreat place to stay, regardless Thank you!

Maria George

The hotel was nice Clean room and pool The elevators decided when they wanted to work and not

A few times we had to take the stairs to the third floor Fine for us since we’re young The worst part for us was housekeeping coming in to our room 3 times in the morning while we were sleeping because they thought we left check out isn’t until 12 but they don’t make you feel very welcome Definitely double lock the doors

Jacqueline G

We couldn’t get our king but they got us another spot in no time Lots of sheet dust on the Keurig and counter tops but regardless it’s the best hotel we’ve stayed at on our long trip The receptionists were great and personal

And the breakfast options are great! And the lights above the bed are amazing for a kiddo scared of the dark!

We were there for one night – August 10th The room was clean, staff were friendly and efficient Best part was the next morning at check out

We mentioned to the wonderful desk clerk that we were going to the Comedy Cnter a block and 1/2 away When we were checking in at the Center she ran in to give me something I left in my room I have traveled a lot but I have never had an hotel employee go out of her way to make me happy that way I was so stunned, I forgot her name She was blond with a bright smile Management please recognize her for being an exceptional employee as well as a great human being

Have stayed over night a couple of times after events The venue is great for large gatherings / events They need to figure out how to staff the inside bar – has been an issue for years

Olives, the restaurant and the real bar are cozy and has good service The rooms were always clean- nice – nothing terribly unique but decent price The only issues I’ve ever had were with the desk staff But that changes so often that you can’t count that as a real factor unless you take that as an indicator that management needs to do a better job training their staff

Tanner Buford

This was such a lovely hotel! It blew our entires families expectations out of the water! The staff was so friendly and the rooms were very clean! The bathrooms were so clean and it felt amazing The restaurants in the hotel are very good too! Definitely recommend stopping here if you get a chance! This was an unexpected stop and it turned into one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had!

Patty Schmidt

We came here from outa town to do a job on the lake The room was great except the fact it had a thermostat instead of an ac unit When I arrived exhausted after hauling 4 pallets of cement, it was literally hotter than acceptable on the coldest of days

There was a very strange seemingly angry dude that worked alone on the night shift She was rude and yelled at me like a child after working 14 hours that day for simply asking a question I wanted to leave as I got there The burgers we ordered for the crew also tasted like Burger King☆Very clean The day staff was cool and helpful Breakfast was amazing and they gave us tickets for it to be free

Quiet and quaint Was only planning to stay one night but decided to stay another since we were enjoying the peaceful setting Highly recommend! Thanks again for a great stay

Tracey

Owner was very communicative and thoughtful Since we were arriving after dark, she sent detailed instructions with map ahead of time, had the lights on and AC on to welcome us The room was clean and air smelled fresh

Walls were all pine Room was very quiet, except for the AC window unit We would have looked to stay longer to enjoy the lake front, but didn’t have much time in our schedule Would absolutely go back again

Beautiful property!!! Was so impressed with it Right on the lake, gorgeous promenade along the water, indoor & outdoor pools, hot tub, bar & restaurant, outdoor games like a small putting green, all amenities of a full hotel The food at the restaurant was very good

Has a clean, & upscale feel Highly recommend the lake view rooms with balconies We watched the sunset from it & the bed! Just a gorgeous place The direct surrounding area is definitely not the same feel, but there are lots of other nice things to do within a short distance

Maryjane Hutton

Lovely sunsets Room was comfortable Inside and outside pool

Room looked clean, but a stuffed purple animal with ample dust bunnies from a former resident was under the bed I found it checking to leave nothing of mine behind It wasn’t as clean as expected Linen was sparseI stayed end of August 2020 Rates were close to $200 a nightFood was adequate Grounds were lovely Lake was filled with blue green algae which is “normal ” now for New York Very pretty resort

Ajay Ojha

Great location and even better service Right in front of the lake Plenty of boat rentals nearby

great space and porch Bizarre staffing 5 hostesses for the restaurant but no waiter service to patio and understaffed by 1-2 barbacks and 1-2 trained bartenders

Shocking how much money they leave on the table as a result We just cant get a drink order filled in under 20-30 minutes and had to stop going doesnt seem to be a manager around Its untrained kids fending for themselves

Do not stay here if you’re an American! The hotel and the staff robbed my boyfriend and I on our last night The hotel advised us to go to a touristic tour, we went and they knew about how many hours we would be away My boyfriend and I came back to a clean room, as we were packing all of our Santorini gifts and Athens items were taken

Gifts for our families were all gone When we went to complain, the manager was no where to be found, made a police call and he popped up Manager kept insisting his staff are honest people and if he finds anything he will call us and after a police report nothing was done Please Stay away they will rob you on your last night and nothing can be done about it Honest review!

Stayed here for a week in July of 2021 Nice quiet campground Hardly anyone there during the week

The weekend was Halloween in July The place filled up, but was still surprisingly quiet Many campers put up decorations, and the campground ran the movie Clue It was a fun and relaxing week The owners are super nice It is pet friendly Golf carts are allowed, but the place wasn’t overun with them

Kristine Plotinski

Hidden Valley Camping Area is such a fun place for families and friends! We enjoyed all the amenities, especially the pool and playground for our kids The bathrooms and showers are updated and clean The camp store is great for some souvenirs and random things you may have forgotten

The owners were very nice and recommended some great restaurants/breweries in the area They also helped us find a tire repair shop for our truck before we towed our camper home We felt safe with their new gate system and rules for visitors I would definitely recommend visiting this campground, whether it’s for a quick trip or a whole summer!

JoAnne Owens

This park is mostly permanent or seasonal campers, but the area for transient folks is flat, grassy and nice We were here only one night, on our way to some place else, but I would camp here again Everything seems to be well taken care of, except the roads which are full of holes

There is a pool, a basketball court, lots of stuff for kids to do The campground is gated and you are given a bar code to get in I thought it was pricy for a site without full hookups

Honestly, I can’t say enough about how great this experience was! Rose and Paul were fun, flexible and overall wonderful hosts My husband and I stayed for a week in August 2021 for our 15th anniversary I am allergic to lactose and gluten intolerant, and we had pretty much given up on B&B’s years ago because of those things and how poor the experiences became

We decided to give it another shot when we came across The Maple Springs Inn I was blown away by the AMAZING job Rose did as chef!  She went above and beyond! Stuffed blueberry french toast, delicious breakfast quiches with lactose friendly cheese, fresh scones and muffins in different flavors everyday You name it, we had it We’ve traveled all over, and her food was truly amazing, gourmet level We ate so well we didn’t even need lunch most days We stayed in the Downstairs Carriage House It was beautiful, clean, very comfortable, and has a lovely view of the inn and the lake The staff and service of the room was great, and they had good suggestions of places to visit or things we might enjoy checking out in the area We went out on the boat and had breakfast at the marina one morning, which was a special treat to spend the morning on the water The lake access is peaceful and beautiful, and sitting by the bonfire was the perfect way to end each day   Thank you, Rose and Paul for a really amazing, fun experience that we will treasure! We look forward to coming back 🙂

We stayed at this Inn over Memorial Day weekend and it was quite wonderful Beautiful view of the lake Very Very relaxing and peaceful

Just what we neededI grew up in Chautauqua County but hadn’t been back in 20+ years The weekend brought back some great memories The room was clean and comfortable The Saturday morning breakfast boat ride was a fun treat and the Sunday morning breakfast was utterly delicious OMG the scones! We found lots of fun things to do in the area as well! We’ll be staying here again next time we venture back to Chautauqua

Terri Carney

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Maple Springs Lake Side Inn with Paul and Rosemary (and Mike!) It was our first visit to Chautauqua and we will definitely be back We stayed one night just before the Memorial Day weekend and though we were the only three in the house we got the full treatment from our hosts: a bonfire by the lake (a very short walk down the driveway!) with blooming lilacs all around; a gorgeous breakfast of quiche, fresh fruit, and homemade lemon-blueberry scones; an upgrade to accommodate my adult daughter joining us; and dinner recommendations (a short walk away)

We enjoyed meeting Laila (the owner’s dog) as she chased a ball on the stunningly beautiful lawn (dotted with mature trees) and splashed in the fountain and had lovely conversations with Paul (about Chautauqua history), Mike (about growing up in Chautauqua), and Rosemary (how to start a bonfire–LOL)!
