We had a king suite with plenty of space for a couple and child The comforter on the pull out sofa was dirty (brown smudges in addition to set in stains which I know won’t come out) but they didn’t have a clean one to give to us They didn’t have enough pillows for us so I guess we should bring our own

The breakfast was more like a grab and go but still sufficient

The stay went well

up until I woke up with a very stiff back I will not blame the bed bcuz it’s not 1st nor will it be the last time Anyway the pain kept me from checking out at 11amso I asked housekeeping (room phone didn’t work) if I could have more time One of housekeepers brought me luggage cartso finally got down to front desk and staff was sitting in lobby watching tv so pushed past her(still in major pain) thanking her for staying She noticed a pillow I brought from home and asked (very accusatory tone) if it belonged to them I politely said “No” then I’d gotten right through the 1st auto door when I remembered that I’d forgotten to tip housekeeping and it was a fee min after 12noon by this point, so I turned back (still hurting) and handed the woman in lobby/front desk a $20 tip and asked her to give it to housekeeping and I apologize for holding them up She very loudly and hatefully yelled ” I’m the one you’re supposed to notify after telling her that I would’ve if the phone workedand asked if “she wanted a $20 bill too” Her response was “Get your stupid a** out of here and don’t you come back ” Never called to report her but she definitely shouldn’t have a job in hospitality or with public Highly doubt I’ll return

The lady that worked the front desk Thursday March 24th at about 6pm was incredibly rude I was asking questions about the cash deposit that wasn’t mentioned when I paid and she was very rude and combative

when I asked to speak to a manager first she told me they weren’t there then when I asked if they could be called, called them and said isn’t it our policy they have to leave $100 deposit then hung up and just looked at mewhen telling her that I booked through a travel site and payment was non refundable she told me that’s not her problem and to leave if I couldn’t give get the moneyI have worked in customer service for over 10 years and this was by far the worst service I have ever receivedwhen I asked for her name she refused to give it to meshe just kept being rude to me the whole time I was there and telling me she didn’t care and to leave if I didn’t like the policy Having people like this working at any establishment is horrible for business and I will be telling all my colleagues to stay away from this placeI usually don’t leave lengthy reviews like this but the service was that bad that I felt it needed to be doneplease if you are traveling avoid this placeif they are employing people like this young lady they don’t deserve your hard earned moneythere are a ton of hotels around the area with better rooms for cheaper prices Also shower water barely got hot told the young lady about it she just shrugged her shoulders and said okhorrible attitude horrible personeveryone else I encountered there was fine but she was horrible and her manager is no better if she let’s her talk to customers like thatDO BETTER!!!!!

I really like Tru by Hilton hotels They are so different from usual chain hotels Its the decor and the rooms

I think they are designed like European hotels The staff is always nice and friendly The breakfast is pretty good Usual amenities Big lobby with a small shopping center Rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable I like soap, shampoo bottles in the shower instead of wasting ton of bar soap and tiny plastic bottles There are plenty of restaurants around the place, walkable The place is just off the freeway but very quiet

A very interesting Hilton concept!Had the breakfast and was delighted!Family oriented and then experienced folks (like me, sometimes gray hair) and many had their most wonderful dogs staying with them too! Very big draw families with kids – a pancake making machine, hands free! Even big kids like me are impressed with the see thru window on this marvelously, elegant, machine The staff is most excellent and friendly Wow I have been looking for a place where you can feel comfortable taking your pet – I can’t wait to get my pup to try the facility

Sorry puppies, only people breakfast so you gotta’ bring your own! 🙀

Another wonderful stay at Tru by Hilton! Easy access from highway Checked in using the app, clean property from parking lot to our room Beds and pillows are very comfortable

No pool at Tru hotels but they have great games and a pool table and tvs in the lobby with hot water for tea and coffee always ready Breakfast was fresh and tasty and the ladies were friendly This is another Tru hotel I would recommend!

We had stay at many other hotels on our road trip and they were horrible despite being 3 star hotels This one well exceeded our expectations And was very reasonably priced The beds were so comfy and the rooms were very large and spacious

NASTY! Mold leaky faucets Filthy floors, mud

dead bugs dirt, cracked tiles holes in walls and this was a suite! Which we were upgraded to after receiving a key to a non smoking room that smelled like an ashtray There was only one good thing about this place, that was the front desk night manager She was very nice and very accommodating Another sad thing about this is it’s listed under choice hotels The only choice I would make here is to find another hotel I don’t regard choice hotel group with the same high standards is as before this experience

Ronnie Southern

I’ve stayed here in this area of Charlotte for about 20 years I’ve searched for nice motels on sugar creek for about 15 years, believe me there hard to find in this area Approximately 5 years ago I found Rodeway the best find

I hit it off with management from the start( they care) Miss E and her husband Garry are the greatest people and the rooms are excellent I have the same room every visit 2 to 4 times a week, so I to do my part in keeping it nice it’s my home away from home The only down fall is the hotel next door The city needs to condemn this hotel or get new management that can control what goes on there When you step on the Rodeway property it’s a different world from the hotel next door I just sit back grab a chair a bottle of beer and watch the world next door I love this place, and very nice neighbors too

The room is a king suite and it is very nice with a small kitchenette The TV is small and it turned itself on when I walked into room It welcomed me by name – maybe a wee bit creepy ;)There were no towels, soap, shampoo and garbage had not been emptied so that was disappointing BUT the woman at the front desk was terrific and made all right very quickly

All in all it is a decent stay Free breakfast, small pool and workout room

The hotel was very nice It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the room I got with my family was very big We needed two beds, and we got two beds with a desk a big TV

The only things I didn’t like was the pool looked greenish and around like 11 pm, people were running up in down the stairs and playing loud music I don’t know if they do, but they should have a quiet time so that when people are trying to sleep, they can

Jose Diaz

This hotel is in excellent condition and the staff is awesome! Having a room full size kitchen comes in handy particularly to people with strict dietary needs like me Myka at the front desk has been very helpful to all inquiries about the area and hotel services My refrigerator ice maker was not working but Brandon (maintenance) came to check it, and until the repair was finished he brought me ice from the lobby

Can your hotel top that? Will stay here again when visiting this area

It was a good budget friendly option compared to the Hampton Inn 2 exits up Everything was clean yet the rooms were a little outdated The TV had more options yet the guides were split into 3 channels which you had to allow time to scroll through to see what was coming next

The breakfast was the decent Yet, the breakfast space was smaller You did have a IHOP within walking distance which was nice  Yet,  there is only one elevator in the hotel  So spacing and social distancing is limitedOverall,  it was fine  Yet,  I recommend the Holiday Inn in Concord if you can spare a little extra per night

Room was great until we opened up the sleeper sofa and their was a nasty stain on the bed Also the linens were not provided for the sleeper sofa in the room We would have had to call for them

The free hot breakfast was supposed to be open at 6am They weren’t open and we ended up having to stop somewhere else to get breakfast on the road

Y Barney

Wish we spent a little more to stay somewhere else Came to visit family and thought we could deal with it since we won’t be in our room too much The room needs some serious improvement – got into our room and the bathroom door handle fell off within 5mins while my husband was inside

Had to re-install it for him to get out They switched us to a different room then the towel rack in the 2nd room was near falling off too Didn’t bother to ask this time The staff seems unprofessionalAlso they don’t provide any housekeeping service during your stay, which we found out from a sign in the bathroom We traveled with a young toddler and I really don’t trust the cleanliness of a place like thisAnyway, this is probably ok for an overnight stay (a step above a motel)

I would have rated higher because it was nice and clean and quiet Conveniently located right off the freeway, reasonably priced, and had a friendly staff My problems were that the door in the back required a swipe of your room key to unlock for safety but it was manually unlocked so anyone could walk in

There were no towels or washcloth in our room and our pillows were small, about the size of a throw pillow on a couch Thankfully I takemy pillow from home everywhere I go

kathy hancock

The room was clean and neat, the beds comfortable and the complimentary toiletries were actually usable The desk clerk, Carolann, checked us in quickly and when asked, she recommended a few good nearby restaurants She was friendly and very helpful

We would stay here again

Ashley Stursa

Our room was dirty and the bed was lumpy/old/uneven I spilled some water on the tile floor and went to wipe it up with a towel and it was a dirty brown I kept wiping the floor and was horrified how dirty it was

Carpet had lots of stains Door didn’t latch to lock properly We were right by the back entrance and all we heard was the door slamming shut Probably one of the worst stays I’ve had, and definitely disappointing for the price Front desk staff was the only saving grace- very friendly and quick

I couldn’t give this hotel any stars If I wasn’t forced to give one, I wouldn’t But their customer service was that bad

I booked a “pay AT the hotel” room a month in advanced It was a guaranteed booking with a confirmation number I drove 2 hours to get to Charlotte- ran into traffic as usual Check in is 3pm on and I got to the front desk at 3:40 The front desk informed me they cancelled my room at 3:00 because I wasn’t here to check in and they tried to charge me prior to getting to the hotel and couldn’t ( that’s not exactly the definition of “pay at the hotel” ) She refused to give me my room even though I had a guarantee and a confirmation number She said she could book my room again except for a higher price I couldn’t affordBeing an out of towner, i had no where to go No sleeping arrangements and all the safe, clean and decent hotels were booked that weren’t $300-500 a night The only room I found had homeless people sleeping in the parking lots and drugs on the corner I felt so unsafe My was to be wonderful, relaxing weekend turned out to be a nightmare because this hotel would not honor my guaranteed bookingTHAT’S POOR POOR BUSINESS

B Attleson

We reserved a king with a pull out couch We booked last minute so we didn’t have many choices The room smelled like pickles and when we turned the heat on the smell grew stronger

We had to choose between a yucky burnt pickle smell or being cold The leather sofa sleeper was half leather -half miss matched cloth and not clean something was splattered along the bottom (pictures provided but not the best) Behind the trash can in the bathroom on the wall in the bathroom was a yellow splatter I think if I had brought some chlorox wipes and some air freshener with I would have enjoyed our stay a little more The king bed was comfortable enough but the pull out couch was not comfortable A mattress protector or sheets were not provided for the pull out bed We were too tired to wait for someone to bring them Luckily, we brought our own blankets and pillows The gym was nice but wipes or cleaning supplies were not available to clean after use -I was not prepared to bring wipes of my own, so I skipped it It was easy to book on price line, but we payed too much The staff were friendly enough There is a nice breakfast I am sure they are doing the best they can with the world being short staffed

I’m not sure how to respond to my original review, below is my review and your reply, which is actually a lie I left around 3, and house keeping was still there and you did not answer 3 voicemails I left Other than being a filthy hotel, terrible customer service you can add blatant lies to the list against staying hereI was planning on staying two nights but I had to leave early, I let the front desk know at 2

30pm and asked about a refund, they said not possible, cleaners had left and they could not rebook my room I left my room and the cleaners were still working on my floor so asked again on my way out and they said, our manager is not here, we can not authorize that I have left three messages, no0 one has called back This hotel staff have been unhelpful, the hotel is also not clean My room smelt of smoke/sweat and chemicalsLikeResponse from the owner 47 minutes agoWe would like to thank you for staying at the Country Inn & Suites, Charlotte University Place and sharing your feedback We are concerned to hear that you were not quite satisfied with your visit and experience, mainly with the refund you are requesting Both manager have already spoke to you and unfortunately the refund was declined because you did not leave the room until around 4:30pm Our housekeepers were finishing up for the day and we were not able to get the room cleaned that day We do apologize that this caused you an inconvenience

Staff inviting, friendly and warmWe stayed three nights ,and it was quiet and very cozy I love this hotel and it was the most inviting stay I’ve ever hadFront desk (all ) were professional, inviting and friendly More then accommodating and went above and beyond We had a horrible death in our family, and most of us stayed hereThank you all for you’re warm hospitality

Hilton properties are well organized and maintained Service is friendly, caring and courteous The professional organization of all of the diffi price points in their lodging options are excellent

Each has it’s standard setup and offers services for their guests which includes an eating option, sometimes 2, a business area for the clients to use and a fitness center and most have a pool If you haven’t already joined their frequent visitor program then you are missing out

Sarah Brown

We arrived for our stay and the lobby smelled like old cereal, the hallway carpet needed a deep clean We shrugged it off and went up to our room, but the conditions were even worse There was visible black mold on the AC unit, mold around the shower, the carpet felt sticky and everything desperately needed a deep clean

It was clear the bathroom floor hadn’t been swept and mopped in a while and the baseboards had a buildup of dirt Even the wallpaper was dingyI went to the front desk and requested a room change The cleaning staff met us as we were switching rooms and were apologetic about the state of the room and indicated maintenance had been told about the AC unit They asked us to let them know how they could make us comfortable in the next roomUnfortunately, the second room wasn’t any better, except the AC unit did not have mold There was a thick layer of dirt/dust covering the back of the tv/entertainment stand and a panel from the nightstand had fallen off onto the floor The bathroom tub had some sort of dark stain in one corner and mold in the grout as well The shower curtain had visible hair and dust stuck to the plasticAfter a 7 hour drive, we were ready to relax but the state of this hotel was egregious It’s clear that there is very little regular maintenance/upkeep or desire to invest in the upgrade of the overall facility by hotel management We immediately checked out and found another hotel I have never experienced a Hilton location like this in my life Had there been no vacancies in the area, I would’ve absolutely slept in my car

We stay at this location often Every stay has been wonderful It can be challenging to find a clean, safe, and pleasant hotel that is still pet friendly

The complimentary hot breakfast is great and staff is always friendly and helpful The accommodations are updated and we will go out of our way to stay here everytime driving from Florida to New York and back which we do several times each summer I’m usually traveling by myself with my 4 kids ranging from 15 to 18 and our small dog and can always count on a good stay

It was easy to make the reservation for 2 rooms, 1 for me and 1 for my daughter, her fianc, their 2 dogs The hotel was easy to reach from the interstate, the front desk clerk gave me friendly welcome & efficient check in My room looks as though no one has ever stayed in it

Clean, clean, clean! Full size fridge with ice maker Stove cook top, microwave I was very happy with everything and will definitely stay here again if I am in the area Good job My Place!!

A competent, reasonably priced hotel experience for our large youth group The hotel staff was friendlyI deducted a single star because their computer system was down and they could not provide a receipt in check out

The promised email never arrived either We will have to call and follow up The courtesy coffee was awful The complementary wireless internet was appreciated, but the log in instructions posted in each room were not intuitive There was some clothing left in the room from a previous guest These are minor points and our overall experience was positiveTo end on a high note: each room has a kitchenette and that is awesome

First of all Randy and Ayanna at the front desk were awesome They both were the most friendliest and helpful staff we have had in our last 5 weeks of traveling My Place should be very proud of these two people

I would definitely go back to this hotel just because of the great customer service they offered And now for the room The room was the nicest and cleanest one we stayed at in our 5 weeks of traveling The only improvement which could be made is the lock on our door It didn’t always lock but we weren’t too concerned as we had the upper lock Good luck Randy on your future endeavors

I stayed here for work this past summer Overall, had a great experience living here The staff is super friendly and accommodating

If your interested in nightlife options, I’d suggest looking elsewhere as there aren’t many options in this part of town, especially not within walking distance But, university city in 10-15 minutes, uptown in 20 so great location overall Only bit of criticism I have is very small There needs to be more carts for bringing in/taking out luggage They only have two for the entire hotel, so if they’re both out you’re out of luck Being an extended stay hotel, many people are staying for a while so consequently have a lot of stuff, so a few additional carts would be good But again, overall great experience!

Friendly, helpful and fun staff who are very nice The place is kind of pricey but the location is real nice and is close to just about everything you will need Although the hotel doesn’t provide breakfast, it is close to many restaurants and the room is real nice, quiet, comfortable and well furnished including a full kitchen setup and a k-cup coffee maker

It is a nice cozy little hotel in a nice location

Very nice property but it’s very loud! First room I was assigned the bathtub was filthy Second room the tv was not working at all! The person in the room above me must had a party because it was stomping all night ! Might I add I waited a while before I was able to check in and check out and clear no one is ever at the front desk ! You will be waiting for a while unless you yell for help or ask someone else for assistance!
