This is such a good find if you want something away from it all and easy access to the whole island It is a simple Inn with a lot of surprising perksThe staff are amazing and they make you feel at home from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave

The room itself is very comfortable with multiple options for pillows The air-conditioning is definitely a plus and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have encountered at a hotelThey offer free coffee and tea 24 hours a day and has a huge variety of flavored syrup to add in The coffee is grown right there on the island! The breakfast is simple, but filling with oatmeal (complete with mix-ins), assorted pastries, and fresh citrusThere are towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas, and coolers you can borrow for any day of your stayThey have a few hotel cats who are super friendly and one who made our trip even better Tigger stayed in our room every night to provide comfort and companyOverall, I would highly recommend this as the place to stay on Kauai! We will definitely be back!

Karen Borger

We had a wonderful stay here for our 40th anniversary The staff surprised us with complimentary wine! The grounds were beautifully landscaped, and we enjoyed the mountain views We were treated to the most beautiful rainbow we’ve ever seen, right by our room! Amazing

The hotel offers beach chairs, umbrellas, etc for guests to borrow Such a great idea The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful Our room was supplied with fresh towels every day, and we appreciated the refrigerator (larger than expected!) and microwave

Michael Medina

The warm welcome and Aloha are felt right from the start when you are greeted at the Front Desk Complimentary coffee and tea are offered 24/7, and so is breakfast in the morning The ice machine works and is clean

The room is clean The bathroom is clean The grounds are clean The pool is clean Really excellently maintained Plus there are beach gears that you can borrow, as well as pool towels The water pressure is surprisingly strong, which is not always the case for hotels these days It’s close to convenience stores, restaurants and beaches We’re definitely coming back and staying here again

Overall this is a beautiful resort in a great location We enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants, shopping, and the beach The grounds are immaculate and absolutely beautiful

The front staff could be a little more friendly and helpful Our room was much smaller than we expected from the pictures Also, the provided bamboo tripod for hanging towels on the lanai needs to be attached to the wall While I was sitting outside, the wind blew and it hit me in the head I’m glad it didn’t fall on my 3 year old This is a great resort overall and I would stay here again

George N

Great location, lovely and well maintained grounds, friendly staff Close to eating and shopping venues (walking distance), so you don’t always need your car Coconut Marketplace nearby with a decent market for food and coffee

Nice pool and poolside bar Room was fine, liked having the refrigerator, sink and microwave Nice lanai to enjoy the ocean view Can swim at the beach in front of the resort, but need to be careful Kid friendly beach very close by A/C Parking was pretty full, so could be a challenge some evenings Will be back, was the perfect resort for us

Lori Reynolds

Great location on the beach, walkable to shops and restaurants Very friendly and helpful staff The grounds are pretty and immaculately kept

They have a beach/pool bar with happy hour from 3-6Older resort but well maintained Reasonable nightly rates compared to many in area Only negative is that most of the rooms are small for more than 2 people

Eric Townsend (Fr. Mark)

Overall it was terrific The improvements suggested are minor, including the corrosion problems on all metal surfaces which comes from living on an island But, they need to improve maintenance on windows, window tracks, and faucet fixtures that were visibly corroded & made opening and closing sliding doors and windows difficult

All the positives far outweighed those things Location – amazing Staff – awesome Restaurant – great Black bottom waterfall pools – amazing Hearing the waves and easy beach access was nice (although this was not a swimming beach) Units are quiet and the swamp coolers were perfect Unit was very clean and parking plentiful The kitchen was well equipped This was a great, family friendly, home-base for our Kauai adventures!

Karoly Kovago

We enjoyed this hotel very much The location is excellent if you want to explore most of the island – it is about halfway from the furthest points you can go to the north and the south It’s only 6 minutes from the airport but we never once heard an airplane during our stay of 8 nights

The staff was always very polite and helpful There were plenty of guest parking places comfortably near Our room was clean, and like most rooms, had a view partly to the pool and the poolside bar, partly to the ocean At night it was very quiet, nothing disturbed our sleep A couple of nights we dined in the hotel, enjoyed the bar The meals and drinks were tasty, great quality As far as I can say, the hotel organized some traditional entertainment for every night: singers, Hawaiian bands, hula dancers The beach is just a dozen steps away – we especially enjoyed morning walks

Priya Sharma

I stayed at The Kauai Beach Resort and Spa for 5 nights It was a very pleasant experience staying at the resort Overall the resort is beautiful and very well maintained

The manager and staff are very friendly and put their heart at their jobs They make you feel like being in home even though you are far away from home Resort is very close to the airport and has all the well maintained basic amenities, being a single female traveller I couldn’t have asked for more I enjoyed my breakfasts and dinners with the fun live musics and Hula Will definitely recommend it to friends and familyPS- I do not usually write reviews, but couldn’t help write this one because of staff’s great hospitality

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking your room This site will compare thousands of hotel sites and usually will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You’re welcome :)! This resort is the best rated in the area

I have been staying here for years If you stay for a few days you for sure will love it I’m sure!Lovely place to stay Lovely views of mountains and ocean Lovely garden Isle, with beautiful views; love watching the rain, Clouds and sun come and goThe property is recently renovated – all new paint, furniture and appliances The grounds are always clean and well maintained! They even clean the light poles!

Trey Sims

Read the recent reviews – you will likely choose to go elsewhere!!!Bottom line – not worth the $$$$$!First off- the island is amazing The property is very pretty and well manicured Rooms are large and comfortable

That’s the good stuff Now the bad:- only one restaurant for the whole place that opens at 11:00am Slow service No sit down breakfast option- no late checkout, room upgrades, welcome gift, or breakfast, regardless of your Marriott status- no beach access- golf course associated with the property is closed No one at the hotel seemed to know why- Chickens!!! Kinda cute when you first see them Not so much when they are eating at the table next to you- see photos- Roosters!!! They start calling about 5am and do not stop- we got a handicap accessible room, which is fine, but the shower leaked all over the bathroom- Views are hit or miss Some look at the ocean or golf course We got a view of a tree

Erik Stavlund

If you love feeling like you’re in an elderly resort community come visit this resort in Princeville A community that honors white Europeans with a fountain the moment you enter I should’ve known

Service was slow and uncaring and this from someone who lived and studied in Hawai’i Instead of communicating that, like everyone else, they were short staffed they delivered cocktails proudly and made people wait for dinner service requests or even acknowledgement and items up to 10 or 15 minutes I had to tell the server we were there He knew we were upset and did or said nothing! This isn’t a poke stand it’s an expensive resort If you’re going to charge more than double for drinks and food the service better be there I really appreciated how the wait staff took our complaints and used the rest of the guests to laugh at us Enjoy the poor service suckers…we actually left the table and bought drinks in the gift shop I felt bad the other guests didn’t even know they weren’t getting the service they deserved for the price For perspective I’m a United Million Miler, a Hilton Diamond for life and lived/worked here Hilton Waikiki, on the other hand, did a phenomenal job

While the location is good that is where it ends with this resort At check in they want you to sign up for a “resort update” This is not an update but rather a timeshare presentation for Wyndham

Our room was in the “Canoe” building This building needs a lot of TLC Upon arrival our key card wouldn’t work as there was a problem with the key pad The room had a musty smell, furnishings are dated , sofa needs cleaning, sofa bed mattress is stained The room needs a good cleaning and makeover Maintenance of the building is poor There is no housekeeping services provided unless your stay is over 10 days If you want a change of towels or sheets you need to request them and they will only deliver them to your room A broom is provided for you to use if you want clean floors We booked a rental vehicle through the resort and were charged for 2 additional days They acknowledged that this was their error however would not give us a refund There is no management at the resort with authority to offer refunds Decisions are made by a staff member talking to their supervisor by phone who is living on a different island Definitely would not recommend this resort

David Burton

Nice ocean views from most every room and you have a full kitchen Beautiful sunrise’s Nice pool with Beach Boy tiki bar with food

Beach not for swimming, but very scenic Very well manicured gardens and grounds Large shopping area across the hotel parking lot Reservations need to be made far in advance (a week) for the restaurant This is primarily a timeshare resort, so everything should be pre-paid if you stay a week, but this one charges an extra $10 per day upon arrival? New for me?

James Suarez

The walls are paper thin You can hear your neighbors snoring at night the walls are so thin The plaza across the street is convenient! Great breakfast at the market across the street

Most likely wont stay here again At least the entrance looks pretty! One more Less star for not being helped properly at the concierge, I’m not old so they must not think I have money

I’ve done it all inclusive with a swim-up bar Sometimes it’s not fun to be surrounded by 20 drunk people in the same pool This was an amazing experience I highly suggest looking at the pictures others have posted the insides of these rooms are remodeled and are an absolute beautiful experience

Perfectly located within walking distance of the grocery store and a few restaurants During my stay the beach was still being worked on so there is no sand but you can still walk around and enjoy the new ecosystem with the rocks The only downside was and I don’t know if this is the case in every room but our two bedroom had a pull out bed couch thing in one of them and my fiance was six months pregnant Not enough to lose a star but be aware of this

Kay Doolittle

We hoped with extra covid travel requirements in early Dec 2021, we’d have a quieter & more relaxing stay vs many prior visitsSadly two other units brought screaming babies with them (why – your children were constantly crying??) & someone also had a dog that barked (never knew animals were even allowed @ KK and we’ve been coming here for decades

That said; unit was clean, well stocked and very comfortable Pool was a little cold; but doable

North shore is the best shore Gorgeous scenery and plenty to do Some reviews mentioned that the furniture is dated? I disagree

Sure it’s not brand new, but it’s not like it’s from the 80s I feel like it’s very tasteful and kept up Everything is clean and in good condition The appliances are stainless steel and in great condition We got a condo by the main pool and the view is gorgeous What a beautiful pool with tropical plants and a foggy mountain in the distance If you are by the pool, you will hear fellow vacationers throughout the day enjoying the water It didn’t bother us much and quiet hours were well observed The bed was firm, which I prefer Kitchen had everything we needed I love that you can text the front desk with questions They get back to you very quickly Thank you so much for having a food truck area This was really useful for days when half our party was at the condo without a car Love the wrist bands for opening doors, so much easier to use than cards and I never lost mine The shell leis were a nice touch too at the concierge desk and activities to do throughout the week The BBQ grill had easy instructions and made it easy to cook up a few burgers for dinner We’ll definitely be coming back Well deserving of a gold crown rating for sure

Kristen Butler

We were very pleased! The rooms are a little dated- could deal with an upgrade (especially the beds!) but overall, the place was fantastic Having two bathrooms was really nice The master bathroom was so nice! The shower was fantastic, and the big closet was great

We were really blown away by the little extras- we knew there would be a washer and dryer, but including laundry detergent was such a nice touch Same with the dishwasher! And the cooler was SO nice- with as far as Princeville is from the rest of the island, we were gone most days, all day, and it was a lifesaverThe pool and hot tub were really nice! The rocks in the shallow end were really weird though, and they spread to other parts of the pool super easilyCheck in was really easy and delightful and check out was so easy! Thanks for a great stay!

Dhawal Chohan

Our stay was very good The checkout/checkin process was also very easy The rooms were clean and had everything we need

They have too many pools and a very good gymThey provide a lot of advice on traveling places aroundI will def stay again hereOverall stay was very pleasant

We are Marriott members and stayed at the other Sheraton in Kauai and it was wonderful We wanted to stay at a different location to explore all of the island so we picked this Sheraton as well While we loved the location of our room that was a partial ocean view, it was a small room

But the view was great and we loved waking up in the morning and just walking out to the beach from the room That was our favorite part of the stay here However, for some reason it was really difficult to get enough shower gel for 2 people! Shower gel was not replenished in the rooms daily Next time we will have to bring our own shower gel and shampoo Our shower was terrible and both the shower and faucet for the tub would run at the same time Also, our room key expired after the first night so we had to wait for an engineer to go to our room to charge the door before we could get in back in really late at night We noticed there is basically no security at this hotel as anyone could walk into the buildings where our rooms were I wish that there was a code to get into the door or that we would have to use our room key to access the door Also, as Marriott members, we get later check out everywhere but they were only able to extend it an hour, which didn’t help because we wanted somewhere to relax right before our flight back but it was not enough time so we had to go elsewhere to wait

Stephanie R

After reading some less than stellar reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect, but we had a great experience at this resort We had an ocean view room that was extremely spacious, quiet, clean, comfortable (& cool thanks to AC), with a fantastic view The staff were very friendly and we loved the amenities like the beach chairs, beach umbrellas, bikes, towels, and refillable water stations

We also liked that they had cultural activities (lei making, ukulele classes) and we felt so lucky that we happened to be staying there on a night when a free local event was being held that included a lei contest and live music/hula show We truly felt the spirit of Aloha at this event! The pool and hot tub were very nice and it wasn’t difficult to get a pool chair when you wanted one The location was great – centrally located to go explore the island and near lots of dining options I am very sensitive to noise and we did not have any problems whatsoever My only complaint is that we were not able to earn points for our stay since it was booked through Costco travel Hopefully we can come back again soon, thank you!

Keegan Mistry

We really enjoyed our stay at this resort It is located in arguably the best/central location of the island It is 45 min from south or north shore

Another underrated aspect of the hotel is its size While it isn’t a large resort, it has everything a resort should but not overwhelming The service was really exceptional Food at breakfast/cafe/pool was good Overall room had all amenities one would need and was nicely appointed

Best value for an excellent hotel on the island! The bar and restaurant on the premises are very convenient with great food and live music enjoyed with toes in the sand overlooking the beach! Our room was nice and clean, very comfortable bed! The staff were incredibly courteous and helpful and maintained great communication during the whole stay, ensuring we had clean towels and sheets when needed The beach right off the hotel is close and has beautiful sunrises Right around the corner to the southwest in front of the neighboring property is another beach that was calmer and even has a shallow protected area for kids

We also took advantage of the free bike rentals at the hotel and took the bike path along the coast for around 6 miles one way The bike path starts very close to the hotel, passes several beautiful beaches, and is nice and flat We took advantage of the hotel’s hot tub almost every night of our stay Its nice and warm 🙂 We highly recommend getting a pool/garden view room so you can sit on the patio and enjoy the views Only thing that would be good to improve if possible would be the small sink area in the bathroom, but we recognize that they are limited in what they can do within the footprint of the rooms without major renovations We hope to come back and stay again!

Salman Rahman

First of all there is no elevator and no bell boy service and the old guy at the front desk when we arrived in the height of summer was unhelpful with directions No bell boy is fine as it’s a 3 star hotel but then the rooms weren’t super clean They seemed clean from the top but the bathroom was wet and the phone in our initial room didn’t work

Good location and beach front which was fantastic Make sure to book sea view rooms as those are the ones that faces the main pool and ocean The pool view rooms faces a pool in the back that will make you feel like you are in a very cheap motel and depressing to be honest We paid over 200 some odd dollars a night so didn’t want that 4 star because it is rated as a 3 star hotel Service isn’t the best from some of the front staff and the microwave isn’t in every building and it was dirty I let the staff and the front desk know but it wasn’t cleaned not even once during my entire 4 night stay The beach and lava lava restaurant which is separate entity from the hotel is what made me give this place 4 star and the fact that the manager accommodated our requests The staffs are hit or miss Some are exceptionally great like you’d expect form hospitality staff at a hotel but the old guy shouldn’t be working in the front

Carrie Ehasz

This is a cute, quaint, nostalgic Hawaii hotel It has a throwback to the 60s vibe it’s open and airy and right on the water

They have an amazing restaurant as well All of the dining tables are literally in the sand Toes in the sand right on the water! The staff was friendly and accommodating doesn’t get much better! You will not be disappointed to enjoy your stay on Kauai at Kauai Shores!

We had an amazing stay The beach was literally a minutes walk Our neighbors were fairly quiet

It was very relaxing and loved the area right outside our place to exercise They stocked us up with everything we would need Soap, shampoo, some laundry pouches, towels, and a guide book The space felt like home while out here for work I would definitely come back here

STAY AWAY!!! I stayed at other locations throughout Kauai and this is by Far the worst one You have no sense of Hawaii at all because of the location in Kapaa is so touristy and corporate But not to mention the dead end location with a drop box for parking info?? Trying to navigate through the cement paths to find our little condo

Once we get in it smelled like a dirty motel room Everything is outdated and the bathroom can barely fit one person The “king sized bed” we asked for, yea that’s just 2 twin sized beds pushed next to each other with a memory form sheet so cheap that it hangs off extra on the bed The best part of this place is the patio view!!! Gorgeous back drop to the right But not worth the cost to stay here Trust me, there’s definitely better places

The rooms are nice and clean We had a fridge, stove microwave and toaster It was great to bring groceries for breakfast and lunch

There’s a Safeway pretty close with good prices The grocery store across the way was good in a pinch They also had some fun suovinears The staff was wonderful and helpful with all my questions It helped to know that they don’t do any room cleaning until you check out I just ask at the front desk when I needed anything They were great

EVERYTHING about this place was great the room, location, location to beaches and restaurants, customer service, all great! There is AC in the rooms, it’s set up with a kitchen, living room area (with a pull out couch), separate bedroom and shower/toilet room from the bathroom sink There are pools and hot tubs, shower areas outside to rinse off from the beach

it’s less than a 5 minute walk to restaurants and other hotels and hotel bars (Plantation Hale Suites doesn’t have their own bar- but I think that’s better because the bars would close at 9 pm and I didn’t want to be around that when I was ready to settle down in my room), but super easy walk to other hotel bars and easy walk back to suite Coconut Marketplace was the perfect place to grab a quick breakfast and drinks Overall, super great stay The staff was so kind and so accommodating, a big plus was being able to check in early! (It was still after 12 p,m, but check in was 3:30-4 pm) Will definitely 100% stay here again!

We loved how central this was on Kauai so we got to explore all over There are lots of shops, restaurants, and grocery stores nearby for convenience The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed

The boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, balcony, pools, hot tubs, and quick access to the beach were all amazing bonuses Would love to come back and stay there!

Such a beautiful hotel, we chose a oceanfront room and our room was pretty much close to the sea We had an amazing stay , for the six day we were there , they cleaned our room just once You can get fresh water and towels every morning at the reception

There is a really good restaurant next to the hotel and if you are staying at the hotel you can get free appetizers at this restaurant Bull Shed

We had a one night stay (we are on the island for 3 weeks and had a 1 day gap) and we’re able to check in early (1:00 pm vs the normal 3:00 pm) Our room on the second floor at the end of the second building is nice & clean and has a great view of the ocean

Double beds and a small bathroom, mini fridge and coffee maker, a large TV and multiple USB ports on the lamps and the small clock The balcony was nice and has two chairs (not very comfortable for long stays) and a small table The Grab & Go breakfast was okay, considering what the pandemic has done to normal communal breakfasts We also “rented at no charge” a couple of bikes for a half hour trip on a nearby path The staff are friendly and efficient in their tasks A nice “ boutique” hotel with great views!Only negative comment would be about the chickens that are everywhere! The roosters are doing their thing all day and night and it becomes annoying very quickly, but it seems to be part of the Hawaiian experience these days

Everything about this hotel is it’s proximity to the ocean It seems that almost any room has an ocean view – if not directly facing, from a side balcony As others have mentioned there is a small table & two chairs on the balcony which allow you to sit outside but aren’t very comfortable

The property however is very dated – I would NEVER call it a boutique hotel as indicated on the websiteWhen you reserve you can’t select bed type (listed as double or king) We arrived late after delayed travel – I didn’t even think to indicate that a king was preferred (as we’re a couple) Ended up with two doubles and just slept Lucy & Ricky style Just seems like you should be able to select bed type with your reservation I take responsibility for not asking to change it but was frankly too tired on arrival and we only stayed three nightsThis has the potential to be a great hotel if they worked it’s mid century style design and did some necessary rehab But currently the building just feels like a sad, old hotel that needs serious renovation As far as our room, maybe we ended up with a weird one? It was on the second floor & was a rather strange room with beams interrupting the corners of the room (so you couldn’t even walk out one of the sliding doors b/c the beam was in the way) There appeared to be somewhat newish carpeting but looks like there was a left over border of short pile orange carpet around the edges which was bizarre (& smelled musty) The louver window frame in the bathroom is literally eroding around the edges & corners (and does face the walkway) One of our sliding doors wouldn’t lock (which is really basic upkeep) There are fire pits on the property, but one of the nights we wished to use them, they weren’t even lit (and the weather would have allowed it) Overall we selected this room based on other reviews and the site images The images must be from their best or most rehabbed room? One positive, the room does have an A/C unit, but you can get by with screen doors & an overhead fan and hear the oceanSomething I’ve noticed lately – at this hotel and a few others There seems to be a very fine line between a two and three star hotel While this is listed as a three, I don’t think filtered water in the lobby, a free water bottle and having a yoga class in the morning should categorize it as such – I would consider it more of a two 1/2 given the overall condition of the hotel & our room (maybe others are in better shape?) I say this comparatively to the four star hotel we stayed at on another part of the island – difference was beyond vast

Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any room This site will compare thousands of booking websites and normally will have prices much cheaper compared to others! You’re welcome :)! This place is the best rated in this area

I have been coming here for years If you stay for a few nights you definitely won’t regret itSuch a beautiful view if you have an oceanside room It had everything we needed and was very clean and cared for We didn’t really use any of the pool amenities but the room was a great place to chill between our many adventures on the island!

Bryan

Solid location, right next to the beach The pool was wonderful and they have many activities to do They just refurbished their tennis court

The rooms are well equipped with amenities Highly recommend, especially if you’re part of the timeshare We had a party of 12 in four rooms and no complaints Located in a god distance from all the island has to offer Will and would come again

Love it Love Kauai And this location is great if you want to be in the middle and you want to go to North Shore and you want to go to South Shore

It’s right on the ocean so you can hear the waves at night, and wake up to a glorious sunrise coming over the ocean The rooms are good, they’re clean, the bed was comfortable It’s not a five star all inclusive resort, so don’t expect that
