From the minute I walked up to the front desk and was greeted by a welcoming, friendly and happy staff member, I knew it was going to be a great stay Our ocean front room was clean and well appointed as the hotel itself was extremely clean Every member of the staff that we came in contact with was very friendly and outgoing

We ate in the hotel restaurant twice (dinner and breakfast) and the food was delicious with competitive pricing I want to particularly point out that for both meals, although the dining room was very full and you could see very understaffed, the waitstaff was still very friendly and attentive The grounds were impeccable and we look forward to going back in the near future My only complaint is I wish the pillows were a little firmer but other than that, you can’t go wrong staying here!

We enjoyed our stay! It’s perfect being right on the beach and a plus that Hilton bought the property including the pier Everything you need for a relaxing vacation is here which includes the on-site Restaurant, Tiki bar, outdoor patio where you can sit by the fire, poolside chairs and the covered deck that oversees the beach The room was perfect for our party of four! The place was clean and the staff were very friendly and very helpful! We would definitely come back and book our stay here again

Other than the design of the bathroom being a little wonky(hard to use the toilet with the door in your way) our stay was wonderful! Jessica checked us in (also the GM) & was wonderful at explaining everything & made my kids feel special by giving them stickers since they were so quiet She recommended Sam & Omies for being adult & kid friendly only a 7 minute walk from the hotel! Amazing food! Housekeepers were all so nice Direct beach access was great & we had a beautiful view of the beach from our room

Directly on the ocean, far enough away from the tourists staying at Nags Head, but close enough to go there if you desire The hotel is very convenient to the activities and close to many restaurantsThe staff is very friendly, dedicated and just terrific

We stayed in Willie’s Suite for 5 nights and could not have been more impressed with this place! The whole downstairs area, and our rooms, were beautiful and filled with antiques Very authentic and charming without being overly fancy We had every comfort we could have asked for, and Ms Jean and her helper lady cooked a full hot breakfast every morning, complete with fruit, yogurt, juice, etc

She is a wonderful lady and just so personable She makes it feel like home Island House is a tough act to follow, if we could give 10 stars we would!!

The Holiday Inn offered everything you might need for a little beach getaway Check-in was easy and I was pleased to see staff wearing face masks The rooms were renovated recently with modern/minimalist furniture and a good-sized bathroom

I cannot say enough about this motel When we arrived at our room we noticed it was at the front of the motel in full sun We asked if we could change rooms which they changed immediately

The manager on duty even helped move our luggage Our next room had one of the best showers we have had at a motel Only comment would be that it should have more space to hold toiletries; contacts, solution, toothpaste etc Unfortunately we had to checkout early but the staff could not have been more accommodating Will definitely stay here again

Honestly I was really happy with my stay I came for spring break from college and this hotel happened to have the best deal When I booked I didn’t realize that you could walk out the back onto the beach

It’s back in a quiet area and everyone on the staff is very nice, gave me suggestions where to eat, what to do, and gave me bottles of water when I asked about a water fountain Only complaint is that the rooms are a bit small but you get what you pay for If I come back to OBX I would consider staying here again

It also smells super clean and fresh, and looks it too When we walked in, Dawn and Darold were very warm and welcoming, and made me feel at home immediately after stepping my foot in the door They will also let you do your own thing, but will have good conversation with you if you’d like Not to mention, the breakfast was super delicious and they even put fresh baked cookies outside our door the night I stayed Overall, this is the best place I have ever stayed and I can promise you won’t find better There’s so many more good things, but neatness to say I 110% recommend!!

This was our first vacation as a family since 2009 so I was out of practice booking reservations and planning activities I chose Shutters because of its location right on the beach, basic breakfast is included, was able to have an ocean view and the price was reasonable The elevator was still broken as per earlier reviews so if you get a 4th floor room like us be prepared to get some exercise

Got our pulse rate going when a rat snake met us halfway up the stairs, but at least no ratsThe room we got was very clean, the air conditioning worked great, and it came with a mini fridge and microwave Only wished we could have stayed a little longer

10/10 the best customer service Sheena that works at the front lobby desk is amazing! From the time our family walked in (last minute due to having to leave our rental house due to health concerns) to the time we checked out a week later Sheena was so helpful and friendly Always has a smile on her face! We needed something affordable that would accommodate the 9 of us and our dog

This hotel was a pleasant surprise It was clean and the rooms were a good size Good location and friendly staff

They had a good breakfast and wine & cheese in the afternoon Right on the beach with a nice pool as well My only complaints are there is only one elevator and it’s painfully slow and the bathroom was a little small We were on the top floor and found ourselves having to take the stairs most times because there were so many people waiting on the slow elevator I would definitely stay here again though

We had such a great stay!! This is a no-frills hotel, for sure But the price is great for being across the street from public beach access!!The rooms were clean, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier There is also a pool with plenty of seating and umbrellas

Amazing view, wonderful staff, beautiful renovated room, great pool, perfect location and best of all right on the beach! We absolutely loved every minute of our stay from check in to check out Our toddler loved the new playground! The breakfast was a huge plus for us The pool was clean and the pool area well maintained

From the very start Guest Relations with John Yancey Inn was Excellent, Hannah was quick to communicate, Bud and Karen very friendly, informative, extremely eager to serve! My Efficiency was Perfectly Detailed, Extremely Clean, Bright, Cheerful and Spacious! Lots of great Amenities! My room was immaculate, quiet and comfy…I especially loved the private, clean beach right over the sand dune!! Peter stocked a nice selection of different items for breakfast, including cereal, self-made waffles, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc (I loved the little brown bags for to go items)

A nice promenade lead to a deck providing lovely view of white sand beach,sparkling water, a star filled sky at night I’m so looking forward to returning to this ocean front Inn!

My sister and I booked two nights to have a little getaway My home burned down a little over a month ago and it’s been complete chaos in my life every since I’ve stayed at the See Sea many times, as I always felt like it was a hidden gem

I’d almost rather stay here than a $3,000 beach houseWhen we arrived on Wednesday to check in, there was a very strong odor of bleach and all of the appliances were moved and unplugged I didn’t think anything of it, as I just assumed housekeeping was sanitizing We went out for dinner and when we returned we realized that none of the appliances were working The TV power supply was blown, all of our snacks in the fridge were ruined I called the office and left a voicemail, and I called the emergency line as the message states the number is to be used for electrical emergencies as well The woman who answered didn’t seem interested in helping or trouble shooting any issues She said “it’s probably a breaker, someone will be in at 9am to fix it” When I asked her if there were possibility of someone addressing the issue sooner, she said “well that’s the best I can offer you until the morning, unless I drive all the way out there! I mean, I guess I’ll have to do that if you really want me to”There was no discount offered, no offer to change into a different room when the parking lot had 4 cars in it There was no help or solution offeredWhen we woke up, we couldn’t have coffee, watch the news or heat up any of the food we were able to save I called and left a voicemail around 9am No one was on site I also called when we returned back to our room around 2pm since no follow up action had been takenWe check out tomorrow, and the issue was never addressed I am so very disappointed as I have always given my business and recommendations for the See Sea I paid the same amount as the other guests, yet didn’t have the same amenities Please make this right

This is our second time here and we love this place! Got recommended this place from a co-worker and it’s really is a gem of a motel The rates are reasonable (around 400 for a 3 day weekend in July) and it’s right in the middle of everything The rooms are clean, modern, and have many accommodations like toaster oven, sink, Keurig coffee maker, fridge, and microwave

You’re right across the street from public beach access and other things are less than 5 minutes away Pool is nice and clean and the area is quiet Only slight downside is the parking lot is a bit small Other than that we will be coming back for another weekend getaway

Very good experience this past weekend Managers/staff were extremely friendly and accommodating Planned a Motorcycle trip with another couple to the Outer Banks

Due to weather, had to trailer bikes and take rides as weather allowed Called ahead to make sure there were places to park trailers They went out of their way to ensure we had a couple of off-parking lot spots to store trailers And, helped control traffic as we maneuvered trailers and unloaded Rooms were nice/clean Price was quite reasonable for the location in-season – across street from Beach with a public access only steps away Will definitely return on our next trip to the Outer Banks

The hotels I’ve been to washed the sheets every time we were gone Always came back to clean bedding However, it was not the case at this hotel Our second day, we called and requested clean bedding and more towels 8 hours later we came back to a set of towels and nothing else touched We slept in gross bedding for 3 nights and it was easily one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had at a hotel and we will not be staying here again Absolutely ridiculous

For an impromptu trip to the beach, my husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Seahorse Inn & Cottages We stayed in the Queen suite with a jacuzzi tub The suite was very clean and offered a lot of space

You have a living room area with a futon sleeper, tv, fridge, microwave and Keurig The bathroom was nice and clean, the jacuzzi tub was great, It is a 1 person jacuzzi tub The bedroom is spacious with a queen bed, the bed was nice and comfy My only complaint on the room, would be the duvet cover and sheetsThe Inn is located across from Jennette’s Pier with direct beach access Check in and out is done with a live video kiosk in the office The parking lot is rather small, smaller vehicles may park directly in front of downstairs rooms and larger vehicles park in the back lot All in all a great and affordable stay

Miller’s is across the street for delicious dining We go for breakfast every morning, then hit the beach! Dinner is great there too! It is with great sadness that I report the decline of the Outer Banks Motor Lodge Having stayed there multiple times a year for the past 25 years, (5 stays in 2021), this place was a true favorite and a wonderful place to stay Unfortunately, this year it has new owners

They have remodeled and they’re still in that process One of the pluses of this establishment has always been a full kitchen in select rooms We would always take advantage of that, although we do eat out probably a third of the time We brought a ham, a large piece of salmon to serve all six of us, steaks, pork chops, a roast and even frozen pizzas We brought these things as we have on every trip here only to find that they have taken out the ranges with ovens and replaced them with a sub par, two burner “induction” cooktop and small, virtually useless pots and pans As we were trying to cook breaded oysters in the frying pan the cooktop kept cutting off and it had to cool to restart it Essentially it ruined our fried oysters We didn’t have an oven to cook in and we didn’t have a stove top that’s worth mentioning In addition to this, the two rooms adjoining that we had both had quite a few bugs underneath the kitchen sink and underneath the coffee maker In all of the many years that we have stayed here none of us have ever seen bugs in the rooms I reported this to the front desk and was told that management would take care of it immediately We have yet to hear back from them They also replaced the old keyed door locks with key cards which don’t seem to work most of the time Thankfully, they do still have the outdoor grills Due to the renovations, the pool was not available during our stay While this is an understandable issue, we should have been made aware of this ahead of time and we were not In addition to these unacceptable physical changes, the “feel” of the mom and pop motel, the feeling of old Nags Head, is absent from this place The rooms themselves are not bad, just different We also depended on the washer, dryer and the ice maker all of which are no longer available We had to buy bagged ice and go to the laundromat And, of course, the cost has gone up considerably Such a loss as the location in relation to the beach is unequalled

When we finally made it to the room, it was a crackerbox with one of the most uncomfortable king sized beds I have ever laid on The cable tv signal was in and out due to a weak signal all evening long Bad experience We won’t be back
