This was a beautiful stay in a beautiful historic home The owners were polite and friendly They provide a lovely library space with a fridge with drinks and freshly baked goods

We splurged for the Arthur Brown room with the private bath, and it was exquisite! A beautifully done room that looks classic but still has a tv Breakfast was wonderful Definitely a hidden gem! Great getaway for two, especially if you enjoy old-world charm

Stayed at the Black Swan Inn after going to a concert at the Bank of NH Pavillion It was a great location for us Large, nicely decorated room with great AC

We met John, the owner, upon our arrival and he graciously showed us around letting us know the timing for breakfast and anything else we needed to know We came back after the concert and woke to an amazing breakfast hosted by his wife, Tricia Homemade apple and banana bread, cereals, juices, coffee Then a wonderful egg dish with fruit on the side Everything was easy and convenient Highly recommend this B&B if you are in the area

Great spot The park and the pool area was so convenient My kids spent hours going back and forth all day

In the evening we went to the indoor pools where we used the water slides several times The hot tub was huge At around 930 we sat out on the deck and watched the fireworks The day we left the girl at the front desk (Ashley) was so pleasant and accommodating First time going, will definitely be coming again

Meghan Filacanevo

We stay here several times a year It’s great for us and our 3 kids I love having the space these rooms offer! No having to go to sleep at the same time as the kids because they’re in their own room! I can cook and have people visit

We’re all really comfy here Indoor pool is very nice and we just tried out the new game room Kids were happy! We saw fire pits this visit but didn’t get to check them out That’s for next time!

Rich LoPresti

Has a lot of charm Indoor and outdoor pools are suffice Indoor pool has two slides and a waterfall which are fun as well as an oversized jacuzzi and dated sauna as well as a locker room with showers

While being mainly outdoors and touring the area, this little “home” was a nice touch! Great views and the family that owns this business are personal and friendly Also, they are dog friendly which is a plus!My only constructive criticism is that they upgrade the beds They are hard and stiff to our liking

Also, we wished the sink in the bathroom was a little biggerNonetheless, we had a great experience Thank you!

My parents booked a room to take my daughter to a concert near by, last minute I decided to come too and I’m so happy I did! They easily accommodated us with a cot for me to sleep on The room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the lake It was so fun swimming in the lake and my daughter loved that they had a science activity for her to participate in

Being able to walk to the beach bar was great! Especially for my dad who has limited mobility All of the staff at the beach bar were fantastic during lunch and dinner One night my dad and I walked down for dinner and sat at the bar We were greeted by what might be the best bartender ever, Sarah She talked with us and made sure she made the perfect drinks for us! On her recommendation we ordered Buffalo wings for an appetizer and burgers for dinner Unfortunately, out of nowhere, we were hit with 40mph winds and thunderstorms After getting my dad back upstairs to our room, going back outside, Sarah running the food through the storm, bringing the food back upstairs, we were amazed by how wonderful the food was! All in all it was a good experience, but Sarah made our trip!

Rachel Elizabeth

Upon arrival the nice lady at the front desk upgraded our room Which was very nice Our room was ground level overlooking the lake

The views are just stunning They doing some renovating which is nice The kids loved the pool They have a bar right on the lake which is beautiful and the front desk staff was always polite and accommodating Especially in todays world I definitely appreciate good customer service as I’m finding it a rare occurrence lately Would definitely stay again!

I recently stayed here with my mom, aunt, and cousin for a few nights as a short girls getaway I must say this was one of the cleanest resorts I’ve ever seen From the beach, to the rooms, to the restrooms everything was kept immaculate

I would highly recommend this for a fun family vacation if you do have children, it was very family friendly The food at the beach bar was great we really enjoyed that they came around to the beach to let you order, it was very convenient We will definitely be making this out go to resort on Lake Winnipesaukee

Staying at this bed and breakfast was a great experience Incredible value Everything was clean

Bernadette was extremely accommodating and her breakfasts were amazing There is always free beer, wine, soda, water, and coffee available The common areas are great and have nice couches, fireplaces, and TVs There was a snow storm coming in when we were supposed to leave and Bernadette offered to let us stay an extra night free if we got stranded The location was amazing as it was close to all attractions in the area, yet it was out of the way of the action for an opportunity to enjoy a scenic solitude Will absolutely stay here again Can’t say enough good about this location I wish Bernadette all the success in the world in her new endeavor

Jess Holbrook

This was an awesome experience Lovely historic Inn with plenty of charm and a warm feeling Grab a glass and head to the back deck at sunset, it’s an amazing beauty

The home cooked breakfasts were delicious and the staff are friendly and welcoming It is a struggle to find a critique or criticism The only one I can offer is that the stairs to the upper rooms are a bit of a narrow step (as can be common in older/early buildings) so being sure footed would be necessary to stay on the upper floors

Adrian Short

Bernadette and her staff provide a very relaxing and most enjoyable atmosphere in which to stay, the rooms are very well-appointed relaxing and comfortable You have access to other lounge areas, veranda and garden as well as your room There are also local walking trails within the property

The views are exceptional, especially on the veranda during the evenings Breakfast is freshly cooked that morning and divine, more than sufficient Good location for the lakes and Meredith with its shops and restaurants, it’s not really a walking distance though Good access to the White Mountain area and other local points of interest Highly recommend this property

I absolutely LOVED staying here!My family and I rented out 4 cabins last summer – 8 adults and 2 kids in different age groups, all with very different interests/vacation styles The 1848 checked off almost EVERY one of our individual requirements and preferences! My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the adorable little one-bedroom cottages and it was just perfect for what we needed – A clean, cozy place to stay & enjoy the granite state for a few nights I love that it was a free-standing cottage, so it still felt like we had a place of our own for our time there

The cottage included a shower and half-bathroom, which were separate from each other off the main room They were both very small, but that didn’t bother us one bit!Other than that, the room had cable TV, a mini-fridge, a coat closet, and a small dresser Each cottage also had its own BBQ outside My favorite was the little porch! First, it was a great spot for us to hang up our wet towels and keep a cooler or 2 But most importantly, I’m a smoker, and it was nice to not have to hike somewhere every day for my morning butt I am also NOT a morning person, lol, so I loved being out in the summer shade with my own little spot that allowed for plenty of time (and personal space!) to wake upThat was one of the many ways in which the owner was SO AWESOME! Not only did he give us an excellent rate, but he was the perfect level of laid back while also being highly accommodating He was often out in the morning, tending to the grounds and keeping the property in beautiful shape He’d give us a “Good morning!” or double check to see if we needed anything, but mostly just did his thing and gave us our space to wake upThat’s not to say he was stand off-ish, by any means! He was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and genuinely made us feel like guests – never like impositionsMy mom rented one of the larger, family-sized cabins which again, was perfect!Parking was super convenient, directly next to the unit, so it wasn’t a huge hassle getting things packed or unpacked Full sized kitchen, bathroom, living room/dining area, and I cant seem to remember if there were one or two bedrooms, but it slept 2 adults and my 12yo brother very comfortably It also had a large raised deck with a BBQ grill and picnic table right next to the shared fire pitThe property is along a main road, but the cabins are set in the back so it still felt super rural which is what we wanted If that’s not your thing, they also rented standard motel rooms just along the road, which I’m assuming is great for bikers who just wanna wake up and ride! Plus, the location itself is within a mile or so to weirs beach, and the area is scattered with awesome local antique stores and restaurants10/10!!!

Debra F.

Was here on vacation with mine and my fiance’s family This place is older, but extremely well kept Grounds are looked after, pool is smaller but very clean

The best part was the service we received our entire stay! We had 5 cottages all together, all very clean at check-in, and Mark and his wife, Keyur, helped with any request or question we had! If you are looking for a camping atmosphere, but with some comforts of home, this is the place! Truly a gem! Price very reasonable! They run this property almost by themselves and it looks like a full staff is here daily! Thank you Mark and Keyur for a great stay!!!

Donna Hodgkinson

I just came back after being here for the past 5 days Although the rooms are a bit dated, they are large and clean The bed was so comfortable

I waswaiting to wake up with back pain, but it never happened The owner was so nice, and helped bring my things to my room as I am on oxygen, and have mobility issues The grounds are clean as well as the poolI will be back

Perfect place for a short getaway with my pup Being able to bring my dog was a plus for sure The room had the basic necessities and a powerful AC

If I come back I would just bring an extra blanket, we ended up turning off the AC at night There was a really nice breakfast spread and coffee, water and snacks available all day any time The woman who checked us in was super sweet and told us about the private beach across the street Would definitely recommend for a cost effective, nice, cozy getaway

Crystal Z

Such a cute place with friendly staff! The couple in the office were very welcoming and they set up a nice beverage/ snack area and breakfast items in the morning The area was quiet when we stayed but we only stayed for one weekday night so I’m not sure how it would be during peak summer days as it is next to a busy road Plenty of seating outside with a nice view of the lake across the street

We didn’t go over and check it out so I’m not sure about swimming The room wasn’t perfect (splintering wood by the shower with wood pieces on the floor and a stain on the comforter) but overall fine and comfortable I would stay here again!

Danielle Dunbar

If you book through third party app tell them and if you paid through site also tell them They did charge my husband but then a super duper helpful lady reversed it no problem They have nice breakfast of fresh donuts, danish, bagels, English muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereal

There is also a snack area with coffees and water stocked up with chips and candies available outside of breakfast hours It really felt a lot more like staying with friends once we got the check in over with They were also super kind to my children Views are nice Room clean Sufficient smoke and carbon monoxide detectors Felt very safe

I love this place ! But they just changed to a two night minimum out of nowhere! Not on website or policy on site

! So disappointed ! My hubby and I come here to relax and enjoy the tub in room Now we cant unless we pay or stay for two nights ! Not cool at all ! We clean up after ourselves staffing shouldn’t be a reason to drop loyal customers abilities to continue to stay Some of us want to ski and stay at our fav place without spending a fortune because of a non verified policy change! So so so mad about this!

This place is truly magical, it seems frozen in time Environments with attention to detail, thorough cleaning, comfortable bed, fantastic location and first and foremost the sweet and caring hostess Janet, made us feel at home There is no breakfast, but Janet has taken care of a corner dedicated to coffee, where in the morning you can enjoy with muffins, fresh fruit on the table or the porch where you can sip coffee while enjoying an enchanted view of the lake

We will definitely be back and anyone who wants to experience this magic should not miss the opportunity to come Thanks Janet, we’ll see you again soon Sandra

Stayed here for a night to go to a concert at the Big House Had a nice conversation with the owner when checking in Super nice lady who if I remember correctly didn’t like the area when she first visited but has been in business now for quite some time

The view from the outside deck was probably the best view in the area and a great place to relax

SeabeeErik

The wifi didn’t work, the people at the pool complained about it being dirty but we didn’t see it until we got in and got right back out Also the bathroom was not enough space for me to even stand up There was no one to be seen at the desk morning or noon or night

No continental breakfast or snacks at the coffee Very very poor cottages But the view was nice Had an A/C unit the size of a tiny microwave and didn’t cook room sufficiently Steer Clear and look for other locations Also you’ll never meet anyone at the office

Birch Knoll is a hidden gem! Spent a long weekend here for a concert and was so pleasantly surprised, I can’t wait to come back The owners Michael and Janet are warm, welcoming, and helpful! The room was spacious, clean, and very cool even on the second floor in late July thanks to the new AC Plus parking was ample and never an issue

We went to the Pavilion and got back in record time after the concert because it’s so conveniently close Plus, the new dock and beach are gorgeous and the perfect way to relax on a hot summer day Even though it’s a motel, I wouldn’t call it one because of all the updates and amenities! You won’t be disappointed
