This was my first time staying at this darling property I am a Laguna Beach gal and this is truly a hidden gem The grounds give you a feeling of being on an island

Very quaint, quiet, clean and tropical It surpasses all the big fancy-schmancy hotels by far!!! The upper deck that overlooks the pool was my go to place, with the cutest 2 rocking chairs to share a bottle of wine and watch the sunset The owner Chris goes above and beyond to accommodate, always a text or phone call away I will definitely be telling my friends about this amazing spot and cant wait to come back Thank you Chris Keller for 3 very relaxing, enjoyable days

Kevin Bunce

My wife and I (and pup) found this hotel last minute and couldn’t be happier The place was freshly renovated with nice Adirondack chairs outside our first floor room The pool was great and only 5 minutes to the beach

It’s unassuming from the road but once on site you will not be disappointedWe can’t wait to be back!

We stayed at the Laguna Beach Lodge in order to attend the Winter Sawdust Festival There is a trolley stop right by this hotel and we took that to the festival I hadn’t stayed at this hotel for about 10 years – WOW

may I just say this is an absolute top choice to stay in Laguna The whole place got renovated a couple of years ago and it was so nice we truly did not want to leave The interior design is beautiful and our room had an ocean view There was a kitchenette that had more than what we needed for our quick weekend stay The owner Chris responds to any and all concerns very quickly Plenty of towels, beautiful decor, and perfect location This hotel is across the street from one of my favorite beaches – Treasure Island Don’t hesitate to stay at the Laguna Beach lodge!

Beautiful hotel room The couch is the only downside it’s not great But the view from the patio is stunning

The bed was firm, pillows comfortable, front desk guy was super nice getting us checked in very late Breakfast had some tasty pastries, juice, milk, coffee, yogurt, cereal and boiled eggs Fridge and microwave in the room is a nice addition Very happy with our stay here

Femme Fatale

If I could give a negative rating i would For starters, they didn’t give me the room I booked Second this place is not clean at all

the toilet was dirty and the bathroom smelled Oh and don’t get tricked with the beachfront more like street front There is nothing close to the beach about this place The personal did not comeOff as friendly or helpful at all Breakfast sucks Basically spend your money elsewhere

Marycruz Serrano

We booked a beachfront suite for our anniversary An hour in the suite my fiance comes out of the bathroom soaking because water was pouring out of the ceiling They moved us to another “suite” before we saw it they told us it was going to be better and bigger

It wasn’t it was partial view and smaller Which is fine but they still wanted to charge us the same I looked on their website it was at least a $30 difference per nightThe next day I’m in my room and a man came in my room through the balcony, please note this happened on the 3rd floor Its been a hassle trying to get this fixed We stayed 4/13-4/15 They really didn’t seem to care or take anything into consideration

Pros: Great location, beautiful venue (roof top), affordable, staff were beyond kind / gracious / helpful I celebrated a wedding here and loved everything except the roomCons: Rooms were small, ocean view was blocked by cables / electrical wire

No chair for ocean view window Nail sticking out of bed head board Mold growing on bathroom walls Small fridge that didn’t work No coffee maker available upon request They didn’t allow us to have early check in and made us wait until 4 pm for check in Despite this the room seemed very dirty other than the bedding changed

Maia Aman

Wonderful place to stay! Historic and quaint charm with laid-back vibe Staff were very friendly and everything was clean The location is amazing as it’s just steps from the beach with lots of dining and shops around

They have a coffee bar with pastries for breakfast in the morning and you can enjoy their rooftop with great ocean views

Mike Girardin

I have stayed at Casa Del Camino many times for both work and pleasure It’s a nice little hotel, with cozy rooms, friendly staff, and a good breakfast It’s close to many shops, the beach, and restaurants

Despite it’s proximity to the main street, it’s also relatively quiet Some of the rooms may be a little small for families, but for couples, it is idealThere’s a reason I keep going back I highly recommend

It presents a fancy place when you 1’st walk in It’s an older hotel, room needed minor fixes, we just did without Bathroom door would not lock, and sliding door track was held down with tape and came up with use

The beds are good come with 4 pillows and comfortable Nice cold fridge, but no microwave It was fine for our needs, and they accept pets at $50 a night

Susan Ranahan

About 80 women were there for a celebratory luncheon The service was outstanding and all did an excellent job attending to so many with so few The food was served hot and fresh, and the servings were not skimpy

Taste and presentation were great! There was a lot going on and timing was important The microphones worked, the table set up was lovely and it was a very enjoyable time

Brian C

Unfortunately, didn’t even get the opportunity to stay here Had a family emergency and needed a room for the night For some reason the website was allowing us to book any room, so when I called to book the room, I was quoted significantly higher than their own site

When I asked why, she said we needed to book on the site to get that price, even though I explained that the site wasn’t working Again she said we needed to book on the site and to have a nice dayclick Hopefully they will get their site working so others won’t run into the same experience

Erik Prussel

Stayed at this hotel for three nights with the family The hotel is about a 20 minute drive to Disneyland and about a 20 minute drive to Newport Pier The hotel is definitely a business class type of hotel

The hotel is very clean The pool is very nice No free breakfast but that is to be expected at a hotel that is more of a business class hotel My main complaint about this hotel is the $39/night for parking that they charge Our room was cleaned each day which I have found does not always happen these days at all hotels Shirley’s Bagels is a good bagel place close by If you do go to Newport Pier prepare for the challenge of finding a good parking space but once you do the beach there is a lot of fun and there is a lot of good places to eat down there The four stars instead of five stars is simply because of the insane rate of $39/night for parking

Stephanie Fritz

We stayed here last summerThis is such a wonderful hotel Very clean and very spacious

It is near tons of restaurants and 5 mins from the airport, though it stays very quiet! The pool is gorgeous and clean and their outdoor seating area with the fire pits are amazingEvery person who worked there was so kind and accommodatingWe stayed a week Our only complaint is there was a wedding the whole time we were there so it was very loud and we had to park very far away The entire front entrance to get in was closed off so you had to magically find a door to get to your roomAll in all, for this price, we will be staying again!

Bea Kissinger

Such an amazing stay at Renaissance Newport Beach This hotel has such an amazing vibe The entire place is so nice and clean, the decor was very hip and modern

Every single person who works here was so friendly and eager to helpWe stayed in a 2 Queen room that had a Mountain View The room was spacious, clean and very well kept I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting

My wife and I spent two nights in one of the beach view rooms and it was very nice and comfortable The a/c unit probably knocked out any outside noises so no complaints there We met the owner who was running the office and he could not have been more accommodating

I needed a couple bandages for a scraped foot and he gave me several Super nice guy The location is a bit of a walk from downtown but the trolley stop is not far away or the walk is pretty nice too The beach is a down a short path to a public street then some stairs down to the ocean Beach chairs and a couple boogie boards are available free to guests, a nice surprise For the price this is really a nice option and if I were to come back to Laguna this would be the first place I would check for an available room Enjoyed our stayThanks

J. Levy

really great little place The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were nice white linens

Nice towels and awesome shower wish we could have stayed a little bit longer so we could have enjoyed the beach walk but had to be in overnight and go def recommend if you need a centrally located place in Laguna Beach had fridge and microwave

Antelmo Lara

Stayed for a quick 1 day trip with the family and I have to say unbeatable price you get absolutely everything with this place, the peace the view and the spacious room that is renovated Anyone looking to stay anywhere else look no further this place is definitely a little gem PS don’t go based on how the place looks from the outside I almost looked away while booking because of it and now I know it would’ve been a great mistake

We found this little gem on our last trip to Laguna, CA It is a very cute older style hotel that has has recently had a makeover Our room looked fresh and had new paint, and cute decorations

We had a nice size room with a king bed, bathroom, outside sitting area and a small kitchen It is just steps from the beach and you can hear the ocean Just what we wanted The staff was friendly They offered breakfast We will be staying here again

Josie Ciaciuch

I really would’ve loved to give this place a 5 star but after my experience, I cannot My family and I stayed at this hotel the same time last year and we had a pleasant experience So, when we returned this year we were expecting the same thing

However, we were surprised by the lack of hospitality/service, cleanliness etc When we showed up the service was perfectly fine However, we got into our room and noticed that the floor was quite dirty to the point where we could tell it had no been swept or mopped since the last customer had used the room Along with that, when we went to use the shower there was no hot water We even left the shower running for a good amount of time, and it still was not working right We called the front desk and in the morning maintenance took care of it After this, we did not have any issues until the day we checked out of our room We were thankful that we got to leave our luggage at the front desk of the hotel however, when we came back to retrieve our luggage, my grandmother needed to use the restroom The lady at the front office refused to let her use the restroom and told us that we would need to find an alternative place across the street After not finding a public restroom nearby, we came back to ask again thinking that since we were PAYING customers at their hotel for MULTIPLE nights that they would have some resolution to help us The lady at the front desk was not kind and had no sense of hospitality and was the least bit helpful She claimed that she would get in trouble by her boss if anyone used the restroom in the office area and claimed that all of the rooms were being used or checked into early (it was 1pm at the time) After seeing that our room was just being cleaned (the door was open), we finally convinced her to let my grandmother use the restroom in the room we had just stayed the night in She left us with a snarky remark as our “goodbye” and refused to give her name when I asked to say thank youAll in all, with mine and my family’s experiences this time, I do not recommend the seaside inn any longer

Patrick Brown

We had an absolutely wonderful time here! I was sad it was for only 1 night The staff was so kind and thoughtful, and attentive to our every need, and excellent communication! We even came home from dinner to find a nice snack board and wine in our room, which was a very nice surprise! The room was a stunning 1br suite, just yards from the ocean with killer views! My wife and I will definitely be staying here again next time we’re in town!

This hotel is connected to 14 West which is actually the nice hotel You can get stuck in an outdated, old room here when you expect to stay at the nicer boutique hotel next door Should not be called a Holiday Inn as all the signage labels it 14 West Hotel

Also all some of the pictures on both their pages are the same which is misleading

Lisa Gulino

Okay this place is great location right next to a Ralph’s so you can get some food if you want to bring it back to the room where it has a fridge and it’s right across from a beach access rooms a little small where if you have four people in the room and the doors and the fridge door hit the bed so everything’s tight but as long as you’re not spending like all your time in there it’s fine the pool is absolutely beautiful and a salt water pool they definitely take care of it and maintain it throughout the day beautiful landscaping the only two things I would have to say about this property is their key cards are not the best they’re constantly not working we had this problem and also I saw other people having this problem in addition to that you have to request room service it’s not something that they just do and even then if you don’t request it like the day before they might tell you know that they can’t do room service because it’s already scheduled for all the other rooms or something so they don’t have time to do your room which is super odd and inconvenient

My only complaint is the price but laguna hotels are expensive regardless! I spent 177 a night Charming place I like the open concept with the pool in the center

The pool is warm and salt water Nice seating area around it Lobby was filled with coffee all the time Rooms were nice and clean Ours did not have a moldy smell as others complained We were on the first floor No elevator so we had to lug my 50 pound bag up and down the stairs Room is a good size and we had a king bed Carpet needs replacing and some of the wallpaper was chipping Though it felt very homey And its in an excellent location 5 min walk to laguna beach and main area There are trolley stops along the main road too I will def stay here again Wish they had a hot tub! They could easily add one in where the gazebo is Also the fitness room needs a make over

We were in a room with two double beds right by the pool The room had a fridge, and a keurig set up Room was very small – the door couldn’t open all the way without hitting the second bed

The bathroom and tap have very strong “beach water” smells, so I really recommend bringing your own drinking water Luckily, Ralph’s is just across the streetBed was okay – firm, but not amazing Room was surprisingly quiet! The courtyard and pool seemed really nice and looked like a nice place to spend some timeBut the location is amazing! You’re so close to the beach

Scott McLewin

Spent most of a week in March The hotel is simple and was a good choice Easy walk to the main beach in Laguna

It is right by a trolley stop, and has parking (paid) for guests who brought a vehicle Overall nice architecture work, but some things look good but are poor design Take for example the glass shower door that blocks access to the tub/shower controls unless you get all the way in

Adam Armin

Booked late, but $500 for a Holiday Inn with a different name on the building is pretty outrageous Excellent location, and there was a pool, but there’s no hot tub as Google suggests Just not a good deal for the price

I read that the North building was updated and nice They should update the South building as well if they’re going to charge $500 a night Bed was also terribly uncomfortable

My car was towed!!! It cost me $56500 to get my car out of the impound lot That was not my big frustration

My first frustration originated out of NO ONE being able to tell me why I was not contacted I registered late in one of the 7 ADA rooms I did not leave the hotel (Seven quick phone calls, asking the night crew)My second frustration originated from not finding anyone to drive me to the impound lot Not one taxi responded My husband asked a friend of his to take me the next dayMy third frustration originated from having no car and no food Did I mention I was diabetic? I mentioned this to the hotel Assistant Manager I was not even offered a protein bar—-nothing Did I mention the restaurant and bar were closed? Not only was I frustrated, I now had a headacheWould I stay here again? NOSonesta wants their guests to feel good staying at one of their properties Do I feel good? NOSonesta wants their team members to “communicate honestly” Did anyone communicate with meNO!!!Sonesta wants to be “synonymous with unrivaled hospitality” Huh????? What did you say??? Cannot recommend coming here enough! Every member of staff was extremely friendly and made it a priority to greet us Natalie at the front desk was super sweet! We received a complimentary sangria upon arrival and breakfast in the morning Worth mentioning that the blackened chicken tacos were AMAZING! We had them for lunch and dinner because they were that good! If you get a chance checkout the pool and the hidden sunset overlook

So glad we chose to stay here and hopefully we’ll get the chance to come back! 🤍

I cannot say enough great things about Casa Laguna My wife and I absolutely loved our stay here If you’re looking for a unique, quaint, quiet, boutique, private resort feel, and a place with some history & character, Casa Laguna is for you

One of its most unique features is it feels as though you’re in a big garden – the property is covered in beautiful flowers, trees, and other shrubbery The staff provided exceptional service The food was incredible, especially the burger and chicken tacos 10 minute walk to Victoria Beach Short trolley ride to the main part of town Towels, chairs, and umbrella for beach included Breakfast included We would recommend Casa Laguna to anyone One of our favorite places we’ve stayed while on vacation anywhere

Sheree Cloer

This place is a hidden gem Driving past it on coast highway I never would have known how beautiful the property is Much of the historic building has been preserved but also upgraded to modern amenities in the rooms

I loved walking slowly through the grounds because of the attention and care given to landscaping with native and exotic plants- everywhere I turned was another sight to enjoy, along with seating areas that are so inviting Every staff member that I encountered was friendly and hospitable Complimentary breakfast options are delicious and made to order

This renovated hotel is located only 5 minutes from arguably the best beach in Laguna According to my kids, South Crescent Bay has the highest waves of all the beaches Isis, the manager, was exceedingly friendly and accommodating

Everyone at the hotel was incredibly sweet and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the area

Bill Morrow

We spent one night here in June, and everything was wonderful! The room was extremely clean It looked like it had been remodeled recently as the paint looked fresh, and the shower was beautiful! The staff were very friendly and accommodating! Our room had two queen beds with lots of pillows (a must for us!), a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, plenty of storage, lots of charger plug-ins, a balcony, two sinks, tv, and an iron and ironing board Plus, the beds were comfy! The hotel provided free parking and has a swimming pool

We crossed the street and walked down to the Crescent Bay Beach (02 miles) We walked to several other beach areas including Divers Cove, Heisler Park, and Main Beach It is about a mile to walk to the downtown area to hit the restaurants and shops The hotel provides a free breakfast of bagels, yogurt, cereal, and bananas I highly recommend The Art Hotel!

Stephanie Marder

Came in a few minutes late and called the number on the door several times and waited an hour We are now looking for some where to stay this evening THE ATTENDANT, called back within an 90 minutes

She was on her lunch break It is now 1230 pm When she called back we were booking another hotel We can only hope the rooms are nice We are amazed at the lack of timely customer service and frightened by the other reviews we just read

The individual units are small, a little cramped inside, but you don’t need a huge space when you get a gorgeous view You’re so close to the water you can hear the sounds of the ocean This is what Laguna Surf offers, right in the middle of Laguna Beach! All major restaurants are within walking distance

Although occupants/renters get their parking space, guests have to battle for street parking and you know how this goes especially on weekends

Linda Hardy

We have been coming to Laguna Surf for 20 years, Romero and his staff are gracious and accommodating I love the small condos, they have 1 bedroom with 2 bathrooms with a Murphy bed for overnight guests Wether your room faces the ocean or street side the patios are big enough for BBQs with 4-6 people

I liked this hotel very much It’s a throwback to the old days of Laguna Beach and has some quirky features, like a pool out by the sidewalk (enclosed in glass) and murals painted on the walls outside The views are fantastic and the staff was very friendly and helpful

It is due for a renovation — peeling paint on the railings, etc — and the manager told me that they are about to do a full redo of the place (including adding a restaurant) This hotel is NOT fancy, so if you want fancy, stay somewhere else If you want comfy, convenient, and reasonably priced, it’s great

Location: 5 stars! Quality per price point: 5 stars! We only had 2 issues… First, our room was never serviced in the 5 nights we stayed We would have to go to the front desk to request fresh towels House keeping never stepped foot inside of our room, even though we displayed the “room service requested” sign daily

After 4 days I stopped by the front desk and asked if we could get our room serviced since we were going to be gone all day When we got home at 11:00 that night still nothing I went to the front desk and, very nicely, let them know of the situation Which leads us to issue number 2… Juanita She was VERY dismissive and patronizing and never once offered an apology or an explanation Would I stay there again? Yes! Would I be prepared to clean by own room? Yes! I would also avoid Juanita

Good: The location is amazing It’s right in the middle of Laguna Beach, so you have options to go north or south for food, shopping and beaches There’s also beach access directly from the back of the property, which once again is very convenient

The staff was always extremely friendly and accommodatingBad: First off, I had no idea that my King Suite was going to be in another building down the street from the main hotel Laguna Riviera (it was the Seven Four One) In a way, that was a plus because it was extremely private, but there were a few downsides though First, there weren’t any staff stationed at the other property Any time I needed something (like turning on the fire pit), I would have to walk up the street and ask because there also weren’t phones in the rooms either Speaking of lacking technology, there wasn’t a TV in the room Can you believe it? No TV! I guess the property is trying to be a little less technology centric, but a TV should be a MUST in a hotel room If you they were trying to be less technology focused, why offer WiFi then? This was extremely annoying for my partner and I We probably won’t stay here again because of what it’s lacking, which is unfortunate because of the great location

We love returning to this place every year The rooms have a stunning view Heisler Park is right across the street and it is one of the most beautiful parts you’ll ever find

There are paths all over the place The beaches are fabulous But back to the resort The staff is so friendly and they snap To it if there is a problem The furniture could use some updating As could the curtainsBut they keep it clean and they have a fully stocked kitchen for all your pan and dishes needsWe highly recommend it!

Location, location, location Within easy walking distance from downtown shopping and restaurants, perfect location across from the park and ocean views from many of the rooms It is an old place with older rooms that have been upgraded

each room is a little different, noise can be issue from your neighbors if they are loud and street noise can be heard The pool is good You can hear the shore breakers Have been going here every summer for 20 years love it, but it is not a 5 star experience, but if you love the ocean and busy beach environment, go for it, I recommend We even went ocean kayaking this year, a short walk to Divers Cove So park your car and walk everywhere

A Harbor Haven

Great location, friendly staff They are helpful and try to accommodate your requests The downside is that there is a very late check in at 4:30 and a very early check out at 10:00

Upon arrival my room was not cleaned entirely, dust and finger prints on the furniture and dust under the bed along with a item of clothing left behind Because of COVID, during your stay they do not clean the rooms, change the bedding, or put out fresh towels the entire time you are there You are on your own changing and replacing

This was our first time staying at Montague Laguna Beach and will definitely not be our last We had an amazing experience The staff goes above and beyond with absolutely everything from valet, to the restaurant, front desk, the spa, pool attendants, and room attendants

Everyone here makes it their mission to provide a wonderful customer experience We ended up extending a day because we didn’t want to leave The grounds are well kept and you can see they take pride in all areas of the property Their private beach is stunning and just a short walk from the rooms I’m already looking forward to our next trip here

Where do I start? First and foremost, this is the best customer service experience I’ve had since moving to California 5 years ago No age or racial bias that my partner and I have experienced in the past at resorts, just kindness, patience, and attention to detail The view is breathtaking, peaceful, and colorful

The beaches are clean and not overpopulated The rooms are clean and meticulously designed, and the tech & COVID friendly way they have their menus the remote set up is pretty innovative The concierge knows what they’re doing and will make whatever accommodations happen In love with this place; will be absolutely returning

We spent 4 nights at the Montage The place was wonderful, clean and relaxing pace It was a perfect quiet vacation that we wanted

The room was clean and it smelled good We appreciated the little things They had a lady that came out with different animals at the pool The day we found out about her, she had a hawk that scared away some birds They also had live music on the pool and it was really nice The beach was almost empty and the place feels really high end The food was also great The staff was kind and nice and the valet would get our cars out very fast We never had to wait long on anything Had a great time and will come back soon
