first & most important, bartenders Ana & Q were literally the most amazing people EVER they deserve the biggest raise & promotion we laughed soo hard & they made us feel like we were home

they were extremely helpful & had wonderful recommendations for local food & entertainment because of them alone, i would absolutely come back they went above and beyond! the location of this hotel is prime time! a short walk or drive to many fun places the hotel is very modern & clean i had the absolute best time! would absolutely stay here again!

Unfortunately I can not recommend staying here I will start with the positives It’s a newer hotel in what appears to be an up and coming part of town so everything is new and seems well maintained

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and a good portion of the staff were friendlyThe first negative will be checking in With no clear signs, or even an unloading area to drop off your luggage, you find yourself driving around a parking lot unsure of where to go When another guest (not staff) sees you struggling, and explains where to park, and how to enter (you park behind the building, in a pay by the hour lot, and then walk back to the front to enter Make sure to bring the parking ticket, they will take it from you, but charge you an additional $13 a day to park)While staying there, be careful what staff you ask a question of Even simple ones like “what floor is your laundry room on?” They may tell you “3rd floor” and after wandering around aimlessly you will actually find it located of the FOURTH floor If you need to use their laundry, be sure to bring your own quarters, asking the staff for a roll of quarters seemed to confuse them (it was $2 for the washer, and I think the dryer was free? It might just have been broken the times I used it?)When you reach the service desk, even if you booked the room months in advance, and it’s 5pm, it doesn’t mean your room will be ready We waited over a half an hour for them to “find” us a room We used that time to bring in our luggage It’s a pretty good haul back to the parking lot, and without a room key to enter the door by the parking lot, you find yourself hauling your luggage back around to the front doors againAnd then there’s Melissa (I believe that was her name?)Full disclosure, we were required to stay at this location for a Baseball tournament Our team has literally stayed at probably over 40 hotels through the years, and we have never had a problemAfter the days games, you can not meet in one person’s room, they are too small to fit an entire team, so we meet in the lobby to unwind, discuss the events of the day and games still left to play We can be a pretty large crowd, but we try to be respectful, and we make sure the “kids” (all 16 or older now) are as well Melissa apparently did not want us hanging around the lobby (even though the two nights prior, not one person on the staff mentioned they did not allow guests to hang out in the lobby) That was fine with us, so we asked if we could sit on the patio We were declined So we offered to rent a meeting room for the team, something we have done at other hotels, and again we were declined We tried our best to make some kind of arrangement that would be acceptable, and the only option Melissa was willing to give, is that we all just go sit in our rooms Asking ten 16 year old boys to just “sit in your room” isn’t going to end wellSo we ask to speak to a manager, someone who possibly would be able to help us find an option that might work Melissa gave us a phone number that rang a phone behind her (that no one answered of course)Let’s be clear, not every hotel wants a baseball team to stay there, that’s understandable, BUT If your hotel is going to host teams that travel from other states to be there, they should be willing to make accommodations to those teams If you are not willing to even TRY to find a solution, don’t host the teams There are plenty of hotels that are more than happy to have teams, and up to this point, every hotel we have stayed at will work with the coaches and parents to ensure everyone has a nice stay Not Melissa She was unfriendly, unprofessional, and made us feel unwelcomedNext tournament, we promise not to hang out in your lobby, or because of Melissa, your hotel

The breakfast that is ‘Cooked to order’, Is the best part about this place!!!! I spend a lot of time at hotels, and this is the one that I wanna go back to! It was such a great stay for a day in a half The room was amazing the price was great, I was very impressed with everything The entire place was beautiful

They had truck parking, so I could park my Semi in the lot Oh, and the staff was the absolute best! Clean and comfy! More hotels should be like this one

This is a great hotel ,I really enjoyed my stay here It’s convenient it’s close to stores restaurants, and the expressway In the evening they have a social hour in which each guest gets two free drinks , or beers

They offer a pretty nice breakfast in the morning til 9:30 am , and 10 am on the weekends The room had a real nice couch in it and beds were super comfortable Front desk is super friendly, and helpful

Steve Alvarado

Quality Suites was a great hotel to sleep in and relax Concession stand was fairly priced, breakfast was amazing thanks to their cook Todd Front Desk helped out amazingly for accommodations and assistance

However, it won’t be a full 5 star as there were some complications Unfortunately their boiler or eater heater was down and was not able to get fixed during my stay And in one of the rooms, there was a brown-yellow looking stain that I’m sure Room Service knewOutside of those two complaints, I would definitely choose this hotel as a hotel to stay

( I’ll start with the good and then go into the bar) The breakfast was okay They had a pretty good selection to choose from The woman chef who works there was very friendly and had a bubbly energy

I loved interacting with herI stayed here for three nights while on a work trip I wish I could leave a better review When I arrived, I had some things to put in the fridge but had to clean it out first since there was quite a bit of opened food in it I went to put my clothes away and it was crumbs as well as hair in the drawers that I had to clean out since I was told housekeeping wouldn’t be available The bathroom sink had not been cleaned off so there was soap stains around the faucet and sink I have attached some photos of other areas in the room that they don’t think will be checked by the people staying in them, so they don’t clean it You’d think it would be better during Covid but I was disappointed I checked out the pool and hot tub later and felt like I just got out of dirty bath water when I was done I smelled disgusting because of what was washed into that water I asked the front desk how often they change the way and I was told every six months I can see why that salt water stunk so badly I went downstairs at about 1 am after traffic died down, to turn in my towels because I was told to use my bath towel for the pool due to backed up laundry When I went down to turn in the bath towels and get more, I was polite and was met with a rude reaction I think the woman was doing some school work and when I asked, she rolled her eyes and didn’t say anything before getting up and grabbing some keys She came from behind the desk while still saying nothing and turned around the corner of the desk before saying, “follow me” I went in the laundry room with her and put my towels in the dirty clothes hamper before she picked some other ones out and gave them to me before I said thank you and we silently parted ways

BlackDog Restoration

It’s the People that make a place memorableCame in for a work event with a few people on a Friday night The front desk women was fantastic

The room didn’t have sheets or a pillow and she fixed our issue right away Pool was nice but the hot tub needs help I give a 5 star for the outstanding costumer serviceI go to alot of hotels and I’ll be back to see Gail anytime I’m in Lansing for work thanks for a great stay 💞

Lori Hopp

I stay here at least once a month, and it has always been great! This time however the price increased and the room was a lot less clean We were put on the first floor and the was water damage which I understand However, the hotel was not full yet we were placed directly across from where they started construction at 8 a

m I spoke to the front desk twice expecting resolve and for a ” we will take it into consideration for next time” I am a nurse and my sleep is important to me I likely will not stay here again, sadly I felt unheard

This was a last minute trip, and we trust Choice hotels Our room could have used a little TLC regarding the ceiling above the shower, but otherwise, it was very good Beds were very comfortable, water pressure was good, and the room was definitely clean

It was nice and quiet No pool, which wasn’t a deal breaker for us Working ice machine!!! Easy check in and out Accurate charges Didn’t eat breakfast, but it looked like they were easing out of Covid restrictions Yay!

Although this is a nice hotel the lies from the staff and double dipping on payments as well overcharging I’d have to never recommend this particular hotel to anyone who don’t want to be cheated out of money Staff messed up when we were checking in and overcharged ($620 for three nights when it was rated at $124/night) my card We realized right away and went down and thought we had it fixed so we stayed

We were informed by the assistant manager that we could pay when we received the money back and that he removed my card off file and put us on cash pay 6/3/22 Today 4 days later still waiting on the money back they decided to take an additional $453?? from my card I haven’t been at this hotel for a few days and had all intentions of paying what was owed after I received the overcharge back They lied about taking the card off file and now for a few nights they have stole $107400 from me when I only owed $45300 If you want your money to not be stolen from you another hotel might be your best interestVERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!This is theft!!!

Steve Lowenstein

Two nights in a room that smelled like sewage before they moved me to another room and promised me points as compensation Assured me the points would be on my account They are not

Called and left message and was assured the manager would call me the next day No manager has called This review will be updated if they ever call me and do what they said they were going to do

Crook Shanks

Rooms look nice but lack updated amenities like USB charging, even little things like no extra pillowsBreakfast was awful Biscuits gritty, gross and cold sausage, very limited options Oatmeal was good

The room was horrible, as if they only changed the sheets It was crumbs all over the floor The bedside table had wet coffee stains and crumbs

Barely and towels and a half roll of toilet paper Since I was there for my child school track competition, I decided to stay All the rooms were taken, so the front desk lady had housekeeping to clean the room I went to Walmart to get cleaning supplies to go over what they did I have one star for friendly staff Marriott should inspect their hotels Very disappointing

Tricie Bennett

Just stayed here for 4 nights

housekeeping never came in the room to give us clean towels, empty garbage or anything else Floors, bathroom, toilet were dirty TV was not working when we arrived, but after talking to the front desk that was fixed Hot tub not functioning I have never been to a Marriott that was so dirty, uncaring Our garbage and dirty towels sat in the hallway for 2 days before they were picked up Front desk and breakfast area staff were great Disappointing stay at best

Gretchen Brown

Ice machines were broken, hot tub was broken and blocked off with caution tape, elevator was loud and rough and ended up breaking completely while we were there, no clean towels in the entire building so we had to wait for the front desk clerk to do a load, huge stain on carpet as soon as you entered our room along with what appeared to be a blood stain on the sofa bed No bedding for the sofa bed but front desk was able to provide two sheets and a blanket Breakfast was rough

Pool is much smaller than other hotels we have stayed at Sadly, we’ll chose a hotel that isn’t in the Marriott chain moving forward

This hotel definitely needs a remodel There was no housekeeping during the stay, carpets and walls in hallways are dirty Restaurant only open for breakfast and closes at 9

Starbucks coffee counter in lobby closed permanently during my stay Shower was clogged HOWEVER, the staff was incredibly sweet and very attentive, always helping whenever needed 5 star staff!!

Blain Becktold

The staff and hotel management were very friendly, address our needs and were easy to work with I would recommend the hotel to others for business functions and lodging The hotel was used for and expo held at the Lansing Center with over 300 attendees

I did not have one complaint from guest that stayed at the hotel for lodging and we hosted a dinner for 80 people The food and service was excellent

Johanna Wright

I was throughly disappointed It was not a nice room, it did not appear clean, the restaurant and Starbucks were both closed Even a basic hotel has continental breakfast

For $200 I would expect some form of breakfast Then there are muffins for $4 a piece Then on top of that it’s $15 to park Absolutely ridiculous Will never stay again You don’t get your money’s worth

I really enjoyed my stay here! I liked that the room I had had its own little kitchenette No oven, sadly, but there were pots and pans and some tools available for me to do some cooking Much better than eating take out every day

It felt like a little home away from home as I was able to hook up my Switch to the TV also The bathroom was large and the soap scents were up my alley Staff was also very nice and I have to give them props because I set off my fire alarm once They responded hastily to it Sorry for giving you a heart attack guys lol

Alicia Schaeffer

I had reservations through work, in a “standard suite” I was greeted by a sweet, intelligent, 2nd shift front desk clerk, who was very welcoming, friendly and helpful After checking in, I was told how to get to my room

I was absolutely shocked when I opened the door to my room, only to find it is more like a studio apartment! Complete with dishwasher, garbage disposal, apartment sized refrigerator with an ice maker in the freezer, two-burner stove top, microwave, coffee pot, dishes and utensils for every day needs and a toaster My room is extremely clean and smells amazing! The bed is absolutely comfortable There is a table, recliner, large dresser, TV, telephones, Clock, iron and ironing board, in the bathroom, there is a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and body wash available for use I was sad to leave home for work, however this suite made me feel very comfortable and “at home”, away from home I will definitely be back after this visit and I look forward to it!

Nice bed and pillows but comforter was much to warm, even with ac on Bathroom door scraped the floor and was hard to close Body shampoo dispenser empty

Entry door scraped the floor and only closed completely with brute strength Door cards lost their code and had to be recalibrated at the desk No milk at breakfast Front desk service friendly

Jen Salowitz

The room was okay at best It had a strange smell to it The tub had dirty streaks and hair at the bottom (not stains)

And the bath towels had hairs on them that weren’t my own The breakfast was awful which was disappointing as Holiday Inn breakfasts are usually great There was inadequate parking due to construction vehicles I was in town for a training at the Hyatt and I regret not staying at the Hyatt

Emily M

We had an awful experience Unhelpful staff on duty Their card machine was broken so we had no keys to our room

The cable did not work on our tv and our carpet was wet when we entered We were in town for a wedding and got back to the hotel at 12:30am and by 9am our car had a piece cut out and gone The staff could not contact their manager for us, the front desk was unable to call 911 due to their phone being broken and there were no security cameras outside on the hotel This was the worst holiday inn we have ever been to However after speaking with the manager, she was super kind and helpful She helped us & resolved the issues

Good vacation spot for a youth conference The people who work there are great and the breakfast food is fantastic The rooms are nicely sized and the key card access for rooms are the most convenient and useful system that I’ve ever experienced

The room comes with two queen sized beds, a mini fridge, closet and drawer space, pull out bed, and bathroom The bathroom looks nice and the showers are great, although, the door to the bathroom is unsettling, it’s made of glass but blurry, it’s hard to see in the bathroom but not hard to see from the bathroom out and the lock is a little on the low end Nonetheless, Hyatt hotel is a great hotel for business, conferences, and vacation time

Tim Foster

I have now stayed at all three of the hotels out by Eastwood Town Center in Lansing All three hotels are nice, but Hyatt Place is by far my favorite Great staff

Clean rooms Tyler (sales manager) was especially helpful due to having to change an online (third party) booking Breakfasts can vary a bit each morning, but always fresh This hotel is closest to the several shops, restaurants and giant movie theater complex at Eastwood Easy and free parking as well And it is almost always the least expensive of the three hotels at Eastwood

Sheryl Ross

This is way more than I would expect to pay for what we got We only got 2 shampoos for 3 people The room looked like someone spilt something allover the carpet

They double charged my friends card To my knowledge she still hasn’t gotten it back The only thing good was the breakfast Drinks are triple the price an they only have a small selection of drinks an they are in a small bottle

My family was displaced from our house for over a month, we stayed at this hotel without a single complaint Great customer service each and every time, breakfast was always a notch better than your conventional continental breakfast, no problems with parking and no problems with the room We pay close attention to dirt and filth in a hotel room and we never had an issue with our stays here

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Rj Uptergrove

Extremely polite and accommodating staff during all interactions Those that I experienced personally and others that I witnessedVery clean lot, lobby, and rooms

Kitchenette drawers come stocked with a full set of silverware and the cupboards with plates and glasses Only critique is that there isn’t a fan in the bathroom but that’s so irrelevant that it doesn’t affect the scoreEasy check in-easy check out 10/10

DO NOT STAY HEREWe stayed at a Staybridge last weekend for the horse show just outside of Lansing I booked online for $440 after taxes So far, since Friday, they’ve pulled $1424 out of our account and claim it is “pre authorization charges that will fall off in 7-10 days”

It’s been a week and still nothing Come to find out it’s because when I asked about this on Sunday, they didn’t issue the refund until yesterday So instead of 7-10 days from Sunday, it’s 7-10 days from yesterday (5 days after the fact)I think it is absolutely fraudulent for “pre authorization charges” to 1) not be mentioned at check in and 2) end up costing you over triple the original amount at bookingThey do NOT care about their customers and have given us nothing but the run around The assistant manager was condescending and rude, and the GM herself can’t be bothered to actually give me a direct call back Everything has had to be done via corporate with guest relationsSave yourself the hassle and stay somewhere else

The first thing, this place needs better signage! There was nothing indicating where the lobby was Also, this is a Motel, not HotelThe desk clerk was very friendly

Then it went down hill The room temp was very low, but did warm up when the temperature was raised to 68 Dead bugs were found on the windowsill along with live ones on the bedThere was a very small roll of toilet paper in the bathroom with no back up roll Yes, we ran out There were only 4 tissues with no back up I’m all about using up, but leave an extra back up! The room was very small and wifi was not the greatestThere was a big problem with the alarm clock and static when we turned the nightstand light off We had to unplug the itAlso, while there was a split in the outside wall to walk to the parking lot, no sidewalk That would be an easy, cheap fixIt’s location to campus is great and the price cheap It just won’t be a place we go back to

This was not my first choice, but the hotels around the area were booked and Lansing is deceptively further than you may assumePros: For a motel, it was surprisingly very clean and spacious We stayed in room 220 and it looked brand new Shower had strong water power, beds were comfortable And their was a very sizable refrigerator and microwave which worked nicely if you wanted to bring in some groceries The WIFI was also great The management staff was excellent Very receptive, warm and honest You have to request for house keeping, but that’s Ok as they do a superb job They also had breakfast and a coffee station Parking was simple One of the best things about this place was location Right on the outskirts of East Lansing and Okemos, it was overall relatively safe with a Whole Foods across the street along with several restaurant and retail establishmentsCons: The people staying at the motel There were some shady cats We were lucky on the Sunday night It was relatively peaceful But the Monday nightif it hadn’t been for the AC unit running on high which helped drown out a lot of outside noise, I would have called the cops Loud, obnoxious, assumingly a group of teens and early twenty-somethings running incessantly all over the floor at 2, 3, 4 am, screaming, banging doors There was no authority figure so it was out of control They completely had no disregard for other patrons of the motelThis place was great in a pinch For the value it works I mean there is no way you’re going to get a two night stay in East Lansing for $200, including all fees and taxes But it comes with the risk of not having a proper sleep All hell broke loose on a Monday night I couldn’t imagine this place on a Friday or Saturday Management really needs to keep their unruly patrons on lock, or call the police Again, a very good place to stay only if you want to cut down on costs or all other hotels are booked in the East Lansing area

Worked well for my business trip Rooms clean Staff friendly

The door and some electrical switches are older you actually insert your key card to gain access and or turn on Front parking fills quickly Some minor maintenance concerns, bathroom tub leaked and Pool could use a cleaning doubt the sides have been scrubbed this year, as they had brown residue in the shallow end Breakfast selection better than average Hampton Traffic can get a tad congested at times but location is convenient Rooms were Overall quiet as well, which was a definite plus

Let me first confirm the hotel is indeed temporarily closed until at least fall due to a water main break and renovations Like others writing reviews I experienced a similar surprise to show up with no room availability Marriott Loyalty “guaranteed” the room and ensured me (by more than one agent) that they were open

FrustratingSilver lining, we met Brandon at Fairfield next door (same management company) who helped us out and made things much betterI blame Marriott Corporate for not recognizing the hotel is down for renovations, very unlike them These bad reviews should not reflect poorly on the management company as they are the only one who stood up and made things right I look forward to visiting the newly renovated Residence Inn soon Thank you Brandon!!!Josh

CLOSED! By far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a Marriott family hotel I almost went full nuclear KarenWe booked this hotel 6 months in advance while planning my daughter’s graduation open house

Needed the kitchen to cook for the party The day before our check-in, I get a notice on my Bonvoy app to check-in We definitely needed the room, so I checked inOn the day of our check-in, we pull into the parking lot It seemed odd that no vehicles were in the lot, save one construction truck We walk up to the main door and notice a sign stating all packages need to be sent to the Fairfield Inn next door On the opposite window is a notice that the building was not safe for humans NOT SAFE FOR HUMANS Seriously?!?I call the front desk to see what’s going on Of course there is no answer or any message explaining the situation We drive over to the Fairfield Inn to see if they know what’s going on The front desk clerk proceeds to tell us that there was a flood back in late January The hotel has been shut down since then and probably won’t open until September This is July Remember, I booked this 6 months in advance and even checked in the day before our arrivalI didn’t receive any type of notification from Marriott about this closure Not a phone call, email, letter, carrier pigeon, or app notification I call the corporate line The person I spoke to had absolutely no clue this location was closed “What do you mean it’s closed?” All they could do was help book another hotel for us in the area and cancel our reservation so we don’t get charged the fee for late cancellation They were kind enough to waive the fee for late cancellation on a hotel that is basically condemned Thanks I’m now stressed out of my mind We’re 600 miles from home without a hotel We should have had a hotel because we booked 6 months in advance I’m now dealing with the “manager” (Karen Level 1) who has no power to do anything expect rebook us somewhere else Pretty sure I can do that on my own I have the app Who doesn’t notify their customers when a location has been shutdown? Marriott apparently Who doesn’t give customer service managers the power to make the situation right? Again, apparently MarriottWe asked if they could book us in the hotel next door, the Fairfield Inn According to the corporate “manager”, that hotel is completely booked My wife, see that I’m at a Karen Level 3, heading into nuclear territory, decides to check with the front desk Turns out they do have rooms!Corporate Marriott is absolutely worthless They have no clue what is going on with their hotels They couldn’t offer any kind of discount for our inconvenience They did offer me a whopping 10k in Bonvoy points, which won’t even get you one room for a single night I think that’s about 2 bottles of water from their store This could have been a huge customer service win for themI’ve been a Marriott Rewards/Bonvoy member since 2011 I have their credit card I’ve been Gold Status for the last 2 years and Silver for over 5 To be treated like this is mind blowing What’s the point of a loyalty program if Marriott can’t step up and fix a huge mistake like this? What’s worse is I have reservations for this location for this Christmas Booked in June Again, 6 months in advance at a hotel that is definitely condemned Why on earth would their system allow me to book it?!? Oh, the hotel will be operational again by September Right like I’m going to believe that Nothing like getting stranded without a hotel during Christmas Hotels are easy to come by during the holiday season If you like being stressed to the point that becoming an alcoholic Karen sounds fun, you might want to check this place out If cirrhosis and delirium tremens aren’t your thing, I’d look elsewhereSo disappointed in Marriott There’s a brand new Hilton across the street Maybe it’s time to check out their loyalty program Do you know if they’ll accept Marriot Bonvoy points? **Photos were taken at check-out, not check-in!!** We were too excited at the beginning of our vacation to take pictures of the nice room Pleasantly surprised by this hotel in Lansing The suite rooms were very accommodating for our large party for a cousin get-together

The separate bedroom was nice for this Mom and Dad, but it wouldn’t keep someone determined out The kitchenette was incredibly useful and the dishes was a great touch The pool was a little on the cooler side, and the hot tub wasn’t filled, but our family had an absolute blast in the pool The breakfast was decent with a good variety We enjoyed dinner on the patio with the option of a fireplace or to grill There was also a mini basketball court If we had to use one word to describe this hotel: accomodating It is pet-friendly, and some furniture shows some wear from previous occupants
